Naram Sin Stele (2250 BC) Akkadian Period #Mesopotamia.

Made of sandstone, it has a height of 2.02 m and a width of 1.05 m.

It is a narrative relief, it tells of the victory of the Akkadian king Naram Sin against a people of the Zagros Mountains, the Lullabi. The victorious king, of enormous size, wearing a helmet with horns (divine attributes), crushes his enemies with his foot while he kills two others. The divinities Ishtar and Sin are represented at the top of the mountain observing and protecting the king.

The Akkadian empire will extend approx. between 2335 and 2154 BC, a period in which only five kings reigned. Its founder will be Sargon the Great (Sharrum-Kin) (2334-2279 BC), whose birth closely resembles that of Moses. Sargon was the son of a priestess who had to remain a virgin and his father was unknown. To hide the sin, his mother placed him in the river in a basket with such luck that he was picked up by a palace cupbearer who raised him as her own son and learned the trade of gardener. From there to becoming king...

“My mother was a high priestess, I didn't know my father. (…) My mother high priestess conceived me, she secretly gave birth to me. She left me in a reed basket, with bitumen she sealed the lid. She threw me into the river, which rose above me. The river carried me and she carried me to Akki the water bearer. Akki the water bearer took me as his son and raised me. Akki the water bearer appointed me his gardener. Although I was a gardener, Ishtar granted me her love, and for four (…) years I have exercised the monarchy.”

This was formative yuri seared into my brain and now they're stuck there forever. They're autistic4autistic they're enemies to friends to lovers they perfectly parallel and contrast eachother. Their relationship is so well done and impactful I'm obsessed. Even platonically they'd be incredibly important to eachother postcanon and have a very intense, hard to define connection that few other people can understand. They are A Bit Weird about eachother <3 But also how do you not be a bit weird about someone that mirrors you and helps you come to term with yourself? Someone who almost died/saw you almost die right when you were about to become friends? Someone who is you former worst enemy, your new best friend, and your equal? Idk sometimes a life changing character foil enemy relationship can be so yuri...

I will say though I don't think they'd work as endgame without the story being changed a lot because I just don't think Akki should be in a relationship at that point so they're purely a postcanon or au thing to me. They get done so dirty by the fandom though because people like to pretend they're scandalously problematic by reading into everything in the most bad faith way and it drives me insane. Some other people like them but mischaracterize them as some toxic controlling hot bad boy x defenseless maiden thing. Some people even ship them in a het way. They deserve better!! Taking their relationship in a romantic direction is very easy to do wrong but also I think there's a lot of potential there and people should get on it! Also they're just very sexy. To me.

I like Akito yuri. If you can't tell. I think they're very amusing and, contrary to their aesthetics, probably the most lighthearted Akito ship you can get. I think they'd have a lot of common ground as weirdgirls™(tism') who had Tohru as their Life Changing First Friend and deal with a lot of guilt. I think eventually Akito gets more used to Hana teasing her but still sorta plays along and they banter a lot. Hana probably starts joking about being into Akito as a bit and neither of them know when exactly it turned serious one day they just get too close to eachother's faces and start making out. Hana's one of the few people who could probably handle Akki and as a plus she gets to marry rich like she wanted <3 Aa-chan <3 Also tbh I think it'd be fun to combine this and the above ship :3

The inventor grinned at her mentor, but the akki blacksmith was unimpressed by the metallic archer her student had brought before her. The goblin touched the back of her finger against her metallic counterpart’s electric bowstring, and pulled back in pain before addressing her student.

“Correctly charged. Shaped right to make intruders double-take. How’s its aim?”

“Perfectly calibrated,” smirked the apprentice. “Took me forever, but I finally installed a rangefinder, and connected that to its arm servos so it can change the angle of fire accordingly.”

The akki gave her student a stoic nod. “Excellent. Just one question.”

“Yes, ma’am?”

“Why not just hire a guard of flesh and blood, instead?”

“Oh. That. Well,” stammered the student, “you see, this one is a lot cheaper. Doesn’t draw a paycheck, takes a lot less upkeep, you know.”

“Also, how exactly will it distinguish between friendly and hostile? Once you’ve done away with the remote control, of course.”

The apprentice conspicuously hid her remote control behind her back as she replied, “Ah-hah, funny thing, I’m still working out the kinks on that.”

“I see. And does it take wind into account for its shots?”

“Well, not yet, but-”

“Take it back to the shops,” grumbled the goblin. “Needs work.”

“But…Of course, ma’am.”

As the inventor retreated with her creation in tow, the akki shook her head to herself in the now otherwise empty yard.

“I swear, she’s so adamant about perfecting those automatic sentries. They’ll never catch on.”

"Being hurt in a fight is definitely no fun!" His fuzzy bod felt shivers over battles long since past. All those elemental strikes, shockwaves, blunt hits, and his body being knocked to the hard ground. It was a miracle he didn't lose any fur! Those shadows owe him for all the maintenance he's had to do!

Grievances over fur-related damage aside, Teddie knew this wasn't what the stranger meant. They most likely wanted to know his opinion on fighting in general. Kind of ironic, for so long Teddie feared danger and any sort of combat, now he can recall many fights in which he played a part. Many a fight has there been that Teddie himself wanted to initiate and was determined to win. A few shadows here and there were attacked due to moments of high energy.

"I'm not big on fighting like Chie-chan or Akky, but if my friends need me, I won't back down!" Teddie then took his usual battle stance - feet bouncing and his arms raised without any claws to carry, "Leave it to Teddie!"

While he won't admit it, fighting came fairly natural to him once he began. His hands seemed to know how to slash at an enemy without any prior training. It was as if his body knew how to go through the motions the entire time. A sort of internal programming that kicked in. At times this felt almost too comfortable, too natural. Excitement over victory blocked out his fears as the curtains fell on the battle. What's there to be surprised about? Even his softest, most nonthreatening form held fangs.

Oughh thats hard, but I really like akkie!! Ed too, but I feel like having Ed as your favorite is super basic lol. I do love him tho, I like Maxie a lot too.

as for favorite scene? thats also very hard cause I love big zombie fights, but, probably Jacks death, when Ed tucked him in and set the house on fire. It was just so impactful and fucked me up for weeks since I really liked Jack.

We all suspected it would happen eventually, but now are suspicions are a reality: Transcaucasia is no more!

Akki Chakhenkeli was already struggling to hold the divided state together, but now at least he doesn’t have to worry about it. Enver Pasha’s Army of Islam swept into Azerbaijan and took the city of Baku, effectively ending the Transcaucasian Union. Allegedly, the Bolsheviks and Pasha are in talks regarding an alliance. If these rumors turn our to be true, then Krasnov’s Cossacks would be fighting a two-front war to their north and south.

Chakhenkeli has fled to Armenia, where he leads a guerilla movement fighting against Pasha’s new state. As it looks like Pasha has “gone Red”, it would seem that his interests align with Krasnov. Will the two form an alliance against their common enemies?

Transcaucasia when it comes to maintaining a stable country:

But as one nation falls, another is born! In a stunning move, the Bolsheviks inexplicably withdrew all their forces from the Estonian front to reinforce the Ukrainian front. Colonel Laidoner’s troops have taken back all former Estonian territory, and the Estonians are celebrating July 20, 1919, as their independence day! An official peace accord has not been signed, and the Estonians would do well to mind their borders, as just to the south, the Red Latvian Rifles are engaged in a civil war against Latvia.

Despite the ravages of war and the blackout in Moscow, the Bolshevik economy appears to be chugging along. They have been expanding railroads leading to Finland, Ukraine, and Poland, which will make reinforcing the front lines much easier. This gives the Reds an advantage over the Whites- while it may take the Allies several weeks, even months, to move troops from one part of the globe to another, the Reds can easily reinforce each frontline.

In a desperate move, the White Ukrainian leader Petliura tried to assassinate the leader of Red Ukraine, Petrovsky, while Petrovsky was headquarter in Pripyat! The assassination failed and both leaders managed to escape the ensuing shootout, but the situation in Ukraine is quickly turning brutal. As both sides are low on supplies, will they turn to deception to win the war?

Could there finally be peace in Finland? Ali Aantonen has offered to engage in peace negotiations with Mannerheim to end the Finnish Civil War. The talks are set to take place in October, 1919. Mikhail Svechnikov, a military leader of the Red Finns, has been ordered to offer peace terms to Mannerheim, including the possibility of a surrender.
