Following up on uncle Kiri, what's your take on kiri and others becoming parents before bk, and his attitude towards all that? I imagine it's super conflicting being """"left behind"""" but also the questions around self worth and if he's "__ enough' to become a parent?

(obligatory disclaimer that these are all my personal opinions/feelings as someone that wants willow sprouts, and if that doesn't align with someone else's desires/beliefs — that's okay !!! we all write for the ones we love in different ways, and it doesn't make any opinion less valid or worthy of respect ✨️)

OOOOH HMM !! you know, i will write about dad bakugou all day, every day bc that's what i like to read and write but !! i do think he would have a hard time deciding if that's what he wanted ?? i don't think he thinks about it for a while, and then i think he tells himself he shouldn't have them, for a few reasons. mainly bc of his career and all that it entails, and also — bc he must wonder if he would be a good parent !!! he'll tell himself this for a bit, and he'll brush the topic off if it's ever brought up because he "doesn't think it's a good idea for him" but it's never explicitly bc he doesn't want them, if that makes sense ?? tbh i think it would take a very supportive partner for him to openly tell himself that's what he wants. like, someone loving and trusting him enough to be a father would help ease some of his worries, i think.

BUT ANYWAY. regarding kirishima, i actually had this perfect vision of them at a bbq, of course, except kiri's got his FOUR KIDS running around LOL and one of them coming up to bakugou and he's just looking at it like 🤨🤨🤨 akfbdjsja and aww, wouldn't it be cute if, once bakugou is expecting a child, kirishima lets him come over and learn how to change diapers ?? 🥺 let him practice burping and how to swaddle them up when they're so squirmy 🥺🥺🥺 CUTE !!

i think — his feelings in the situation of being around his friends that have children would really depend on whether he has a partner or not he feels comfortable with, tbh. like if it’s just him, i feel like he's non-stop looking at all these kids and his peers and telling himself, "yup, just not in the cards for me", almost like he's trying to convince himself he's fine with being without, though i definitely think he would, deep down, feel like ".......but why not me ?? 🥺" WAAAHHHH but !! on the fun, flip side, if he was with someone, i think he would honestly try to be more observant of how kids are ?? if that makes sense ?? LOL like he's watching them run around and trying to gauge what yaomomo says to her brats to get them to eat their vegetables PFFT. just storing it away for later.

tbh, it's hard for me to imagine not having this conversation with him BUT in the event that yall haven't discussed children yet, i don't think he's going to be the one to push it. like he's not coming back from the bbq asking when it's yall's turn, and i say that bc he's on the fence about it for so long. so i think he takes you not bringing it up as like......okay maybe it really isn't a good idea 🥺 but if years go by and nothing is said, then i think he might bite the bullet and force himself to ask LOL WAAHHH HE'S SO COMPLICATED

A/N: Duuuuuuuude, I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. Never would I have thought I'd ever be writing again, years later! Please please please let me know what you guys think since this is my first story back. It'll probably play a part in wether or not I'll write more since I obvs love writing, but a writer isn't a writer without readers.

The cool breeze of the opening car door makes you smile. The vehicle moves slightly as someone sits in the driver's seat. After some rustling you hear: "Open up." You do as you're told and open your lips slightly, only to feel the cool metal of a reusable straw. A groan escapes your lips as you taste your favorite cooled beverage. By now, he knew all your favorites by heart, just like he knew your dislike for the standard paper straws they've started using everywhere. You're all for saving the planet, but paper should never be sucked on. You lean your head against the headrest as you turn your head towards the driver's seat, even though your eyes could only see black.

"Does this mean you're gonna be my servant all day?" You hear a chuckle. "Don't get used to it hot stuff. You're only blindfolded until we get there." You puckered your lips, "and where is there exactly?" you try again. For months, he's been keeping you in the dark about what he had planned for your birthday. He hyped it up quite a bit so your curiosity only grew as it led you to this moment, literally in the dark about the whole thing. He just kissed your lips and you knew that was the only answer you were gonna get.

The drive was filled with your favorite music, the occasional chatter and regular hand kisses as he held yours in your lap. Although you couldn't see anything, you weren't bored. It was rare that you got to spend much time together, so even this was a treat. You still found it crazy how he had been able to persuade the producers and director to film around your birthday. Well, persuading isn't exactly the right word. He had a few different gigs lined up, so he could basically tell them: "Give me these days off, or I'm going for the other job."

He was always the assertive one in the relationship. Especially when it came to you. Any free moment he could get, he would make sure to capitalize on it just so he could spend it with you. Ever since you guys met at Julliard, you'd been absolutely smitten with eachother.

Your thoughts were interrupted as the car came to a halt. "Slow down tiger." He said, quickly grabbing your hand moving towards the blindfold. "Tooooooom, please..." you whined, squeezing his hand. "You'll find out soon enough, trust me. Now I'm going to come over to your side to help you get out okay. No peeking."

The dramatic sigh that left your lips made him laugh, loving the advantage he had over you. As you play with a loose thread on your jean overall he opens the door. Grabbing your waist, he lifts you out of the Jeep, squeezing your sides in the process.

"Okay, take off your blindfold on my mark." He exclaims, followed by alot of shuffling, making you aware of multiple people present. "Go for it babe." He says loudly, and you do as he says.

The sight infront of you startles you, not at all what you expected. It feels like you're in some kind of national park. Only stones, sand and dirt in sight. If you exclude the group of people infront of you that is.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone shouts at the same time and you jump back a little in surprise. In front of you are you closest friends, as well as some of Tom's coworkers you'd been lucky enough to get close to. A few Billy The Kid costars were also there, you assumed the others had to keep filming while he had a couple days off.

As you take in the sight, hand over your mouth, still in shock, you notice everyone has a bucket hanging from their wrist. "What the fuck!?!" you shout, happy but confused. Tom walks up to you, takes your hand and walks you closer to the group. He hands you a similar looking bucket, a chisel and a hammer.

"We're going crystal digging." Tom smiles, stretching out his arms proudly as he looks at the scenery. Your heart nearly bursts at the seams as you throw your new equipment to the ground and jump in his arms, clinging onto him like a Koala.

"Tom Blyth, you are the most unrealistically perfect boyfriend ever and I do wonder how I ended up with you." You whisper, looking into his eyes, trying to make him realise how much this means to you.

It's not like you were crystal-obsessed. It's just something you'd been drawn to your entire life. A little quirk one might say. It was a subtle part of your life. One that you had often gotten judged for by previous boyfriends. Tom never spoke negatively about it, it was just a part of who you are and if it made you happy, why would he try to manipulate it out of you like the ones before him. It's not because he himself wasn't that interested in it, that you weren't allowed to be.

"Babe, all I do is listen. It's not rocket science." He smiles as he gives you a little Eskimo kiss. "So humble," you mock swoon as het puts you down. "Oi, don't be jealous if I find the biggest rock okay." He grins while nudging your side. "Not gonna happen. I'm a crystal magnet." You say cockily as you join the group.

After a couple hours, everyone was covered in dust and dirt. Happily you look at your bucket, having found a couple huge, beautiful crystals and a lot of smaller ones. Next to you Tom was also holding his bucket closer to his face to inspect what he found. Your shoulder touches his elbow as you say: "You know what, I might have a couple of them made into some lovely jewelry pieces."

Tom looks at you bewildered. "Like what?" You don't think much of it as you answer. "I don't know. There's some beautiful stones in here for some earrings, necklaces, bracelets... Or maybe I can make some stuff myself you know. Get my creative juices flowing." He sighs softly at your answer. "I love you." At that you raise your eyebrow. Neither you or Tom were shy of expressing your love for eachother, but this was a bit random. "I love you too. I honestly don't think you realise how much this means to me. I never would have guessed this to be the surprise. It's so thoughtful. It truly shows how much you know me through and through." "I'm glad you like it. You're always down to try anything, even if you're not sure about it in the beginning. That's why I feel comfortable trying something new. I'm aware it hasn't been easy now that work's been steady and I've been away from home a lot. And you have no idea how much I appreciate you giving me the freedom to follow my dreams."

He leans down and kisses you passionately. Melting into his touch you stand there for a while looking at the scenery, taking everything in.

*That evening*

"You clean up nicely mr. Blyth." You comment on his attire. He does a little twirl, smirking as he checks you out. "You're not so bad for a little scavenger." You poke his side and sit down in one of the chairs. After you'd said your goodbyes to the rest of the group, Tom had driven you about an hour away from the crystal mine. You knew that wasn't the end of your birthday surprise since he'd told you to also pack some nice evening attire.

Tom had booked an amazing restaurant. The owners went above and beyone to blow your mind, preparing an outdoor table with the best view. After dessert, you both were enjoying some lovely wine and eachother. Catching up after not having seen eachother for a while since you'd only flow in yesterday so you could spend your birthday together.

He absentmindedly played with your fingers as a comfortable silence settled between you two. You felt him rubbing your ring finger and noticed him looking at it. "Looks quite empty doesn't it." He says quite casually. You roll your eyes and jokingly hit his chest. "Don't play that game." You say, smiling widely. You'd talked about marriage before, you both knew you wanted it at some point in your life. Sure some people say it's just a piece of paper, and you couldn't fully disagree, but it also had a deeper meaning to the both of you. The promise of choosing eachother, every day, forever.

He looked into your eyes and shook his head.

"I'm not playing games anymore love."

The way he said it made you shiver. He'd made that joke before, but never with an answer so serious. He leaned back in his chair. "Do you remember, early on in our relationship, that time I forgot my tie for one of the first plays I did at Julliard?" You smile as you think back to that memory. "How could I forget. You were basically a living zombie for 3 weeks leading up to that play."

Tom nodded, back to playing with your fingers.

"I remember I had been so stressed. The character I played was so dull. I struggled so much finding ways to make him more interesting to the audience. And that damn tie. It was so important to me. Silly how something so small could mean so much at the time." "So much that you forgot it at home 3 hours before the play." You humored.

Looking enamoured, he continued.

"And I remember you. You with your make up half done, running towards me in a fucking thunderstorm. And when we met in the middle, you just casually opened your vest, handing over that damn tie."

Laughter exploded from your chest. You were in the middle of getting ready to attend the play when you got the frantic call from Tom. You didn't think twice and started running towards the school, and didn't even realise it was raining until you were running through the streets of New York City, by then it was too late to turn back to dress appropriately for the weather.

The man infront of you smiling, as he relived the same memory.

"That's when I knew."

A questioning look painted your face.

"I knew. Right then and there, that I'd always look for you in the crowd."

Speechless, you squeezed his hand.

He sat up straight in his chair. Taking both of your hands in his.

"I love you. I love the way you still can't use our airfryer, 2 years after we got it. I love your random obsession with knitting and making me wear your handmade sweaters to work. I love home, but only when you're there. I love that you let me be who I truly am and I love that you are fearlessly yourself."

He stood up and kneeled down infront of you, taking out a red, velvet box.

"Please allow me, to fulfill one more dream of mine."

As he opens the box he speaks with shaking voice and tears in his eyes.

"Will you marry me?"

It had been three hours since Peeta hit the force field and Finnick had to resuscitate him.

You have been keeping a frantic eye on him, just in case there was another deadly object he wants to bump into (silly lil Peeta. You can’t take him anywhere fr fr). 

“y/n- I swear I'm fine. You don't have to keep watching me.” Peeta mumbles and glances at you.

“I know, I'm just scared.. Maybe you shouldn’t be so clumsy.” you tease, trying to calm some of your nerves.

“Ok, ok. I get it. I thought everyone knew I was the weak one in the alliance.” he chuckles and shakes his head.

 “What do you mean? You’re not weak, Peeta. You won the games.” you look at him and raise your eyebrow.

“Are you sure? I won the games because of you. I was just.. Lucky.” he looks back at you and shrugs.

“Lucky? Peeta, I’m the lucky one. We probably wouldn’t have made it together if you didn’t find those berries.” you sigh and scoot closer to him. He wraps his arm around your shoulder and squeezes you gently. “y/n.. Just because I found some berries, doesn’t mean I’m not weak. I’m just a baker.. You deserve someone who can take care of you.”

You gently grab his chin and turn his head to face you. “But you can. You’re the only person I feel safe with. And I like that you’re a baker. It makes you more adorable.” you giggle softly and stare into his eyes. 

“You’re just saying that.” he blushes faintly and rolls his eyes playfully.

“No, I'm not.” you brush away a piece of his hair and shake your head.

He smiles at you and wraps his other arm around you.

You rest your head in his lap and lean against him, smiling back up at him as he strokes your hair. 

“So it's true. I guess the ‘star-crossed lovers’ are actually real.” Finnick snorts, nudging Johanna next to him.

“Isn't it obvious? I thought it was hilariously clear when she started whaling on him and shouting at all of us after his heart stopped.” Johanna laughs, nudging him back.

“I thought she was gonna start punching me after i gave him mouth to mouth.” He laughs with her, glancing at the two of you.

“‘Peeta! Peeta! Omg Peeeetaa!!’” Johanna mimics you, laughing even harder with Finnick.

You glare at them and sit up from his lap. “Do you two ever shut up?”

“Oh please, we all know how you got that ‘baby’ inside you.” He grins and wiggles his eyebrows at you.

You roll your eyes and scoff. “You two make me sick.”

“Whatever, lover girl.” they laugh again and walk back over to the rest of the group

You sigh and lean back against him “I can’t stand them sometimes.” 

“Me either.. I just wish they would give us some time to ourselves.” he mumbles and kisses you on the forehead. 

“‘Wanna go for a walk? For a break?” you smile and raise your eyebrow

“Yeah, why not?” he smile back at you and stands up

“Hey ‘love birds’! Come back with another bun in the oven so we can get some sponsors, eh?” Finnick shouts and laughs harder. 

“Don't make me shoot you!” you shout back and grab his hand as you head deeper into the jungle.

You lean against a tree next to him and rest your head on his shoulder. “I miss home so much. I would do anything to have your cinnamon buns one last time before my stupid inevitable death.”

“Cmon y/n, you’re not gonna die. I’ll make sure of it.” he strokes the side of your head with his thumb. “Once we get home together, I’m gonna make you your own batch.” he chuckles and pecks the top of your head softly.

“Peeta, you know it's practically impossible to get out of this together, right?” you glance up at his face and smile sadly.

“I know, but I'm willing to risk those odds. I’m sure I'm lucky enough” he smiles back at you and moves his hand from your hair to your cheek.

You grin and pull him into a soft kiss. Not a forced one, for the cameras or for the capitol. A real kiss. 

“you don't have to kiss me if you don't want to.” he says after you pull away.

“I know.” you nod and kiss him again.

Buck putting flowers down while Eddie makes the sign of the cross in blessing.

Eddie: "We're all gonna die alone." (notice he says this after Buck tells him what Natalia said)

Eddie: "That was a beautiful thing Natalia did for her." -> I see you, Eddie

Eddie: "Really? Dating someone you rescued? You know that never ends well." (like I said, she's Ali all over again, but she's also Taylor and Ana)

Love Eddie's eye roll btw.

Buck: "There's something different about her. I feel like she sees me."

"You know, like she sees me for who I really am and what I've been through."

"I think she might even see more of me than I see in myself."

Considering what we saw happen on his date with Natalia and how this whole setup is happening, it's obvious Buck is trying to force something here that just isn't reality. This could be the result of the trauma he went through, but he had better immediate chemistry with Taylor when meeting her on an emergency. This isn't where Buck is supposed to be headed (meaning what his endgame will be) and the show is going to great lengths to showcase that. Which is why we have this scene (and Marie being Eddie's Thomas from 2x08 which doesn't surprise me that Eddie is thinking of the long-term future and Buck is still not thinking big-picture yet, not completely).

And sure enough:

Eddie: "Look, I know we razzed you about your whole math skills, maybe I even tried to get rich off of 'em, but to be honest, you haven't been the same since it happened." -> not only is math mentioned again (Buddie) but it's made very clear that Eddie sees how much Buck is floundering & considering what Buck just said about Natalia (who thinks his experience was really cool and exciting) but we didn't see her seeing into him like this, the show is telling you who really sees Buck the way Buck just described

And Eddie has his own realization and looks down at the grave. "But how could you be?" -> he hasn't been the same since Shannon died and he knows it

Buck: "The truth is I still don't know how to act. I am different, but I feel like I have to try and be the same old Buck. Mostly for the sake of everyone else." -> as we already knew, Buck is being performative with Natalia (aka flirting like the same old Buck would do & dating a woman he met on an emergency) & Eddie pretty much called it

Eddie: "You know, you don't have to be anything for anybody. Nobody is ever the same, from one day to the next. Experiences like this, they change us." -> not only is this the absolute truth, he's giving Buck (and himself) permission to be different and not be the same ol', same ol'

Eddie: "So what changed in you?"

Buck: "When I woke up in that hospital, I felt like I had gotten away with something."

Eddie: "You cheated death."

Buck: "My life could have ended. Right then and there, but it didn't. That has to mean something, right?"

Eddie: "It means you're one lucky guy."

Buck: "I don't think I'm gonna get that lucky again."

Eddie: "Well, maybe you don't have to. Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice."

Buck: "Which is why I have to make the most of every single moment. 'Cause from here on out, it's all a gift."

So not only do we have Buck and Eddie being paralleled to two out of the three main couples this episode (Maddie and Chim go through the auditing together, Bobby is there for Athena when her suspect dies unexpectedly) but we get this scene. And this scene is SO important. Not only from what I mentioned above but also the very scene itself happening. Eddie and Buck have admitted to the audience that they're different and they were standing together at a fresh grave (recent death -> old versions of themselves/their journeys) and had an emotionally intimate moment. When Eddie said Buck didn't have to perform, Buck jumped at the chance to speak his truth. Eddie asked what changed in Buck and we find out, but Buck also didn't ask Eddie this because through Athena, we found out Eddie has more questions than answers. And we've watched him get answers the past two seasons.

This is why when people say 'oh KR is separating Buddie' and 'Buddie will never happen' I shake my head. Because Buddie has been there all along and strengthening to lead to what we're hoping for, for some time now and this scene literally just doubled down on Buddie AGAIN. The same episode where it looks like Buck might have a new love interest, they're already telling us 'don't get comfortable, this is not here to stay'. By Buck's own words, he's being performative and trying to act like old Buck. In the same conversation he talks to Eddie about Natalia. And then they added how Eddie saw the real Buck in contrast to Buck thinking Natalia sees the real him and how it's important to him.

Literally, I almost expected some heart eyes to pop out in this scene or some sort of self-realization, that's how impactful this scene is for Buddie and how blatant it is. And a full episode after Eddie shot down his own date who mutually agreed.

At this point, we might get Buddie sooner than we think. I get the feeling Natalia will be the last ditch effort/pit stop before we get there.

Do you have one where the serving staff/guards know of Merlin’s magic, but they choose to keep it a secret because he helps them out a lot (since he cheats when no one is looking, they leave him alone for bigger tasks so they can just get things done faster)? (And that the atmosphere somehow just got…better when he started working there, even if the King is still a murder-bitch?)

Like Merlin, doesn’t know that they know. Nobles and visitors aren’t allowed to know and the staff help shield him/explain it away.

OK SO!!!

I'm gonna write this as a set of  rough headcanons as opposed to a fic, because I'm really struggling motivation wise at the moment, and this particular ask really spoke to me when I looked through my messages :D

It takes Gwen and George (as important, smart, and the-only-other-servants-whose-names-we-know) all of a week to figure out Merlin has magic. It takes the Cook two, it takes the Housekeeper a month and a half, and it takes the Steward just shy of six months. Yeah. Merlin isn't very good at being subtle. The former First Knight, Leon's grumpy, stick-in-the-mud-and-also-up-his-arse predecessor, never finds out (much to the effort of everyone), but Leon of course has it all lined up in his head an hour after he takes over the role. He'd suspected before then, but hadn't really had much to do with Merlin anyway until he'd taken on the job.

Anyway. All of this just means that Merlin has no idea how easy his life is in comparison to what it could have been if he's actually managed to keep his secret, well, secret.

Most of the knights don't know, but a few do. With the guards, it's the other way round. Most of them know, a few specific ones don't. Look, as much as a lot of people know, and it sounds like chaos, it's actually very well controlled. Well, it isn't at first. Merlin is very lucky that the first few people to find out are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, because it's those first few that carefully control where and when the secret goes.

ANYWAY. And I actually mean it this time. A lot of people know and Merlin has NO fucking clue.

The whole thing goes unsaid, and bar a few of the main crew (the aforementioned Gwen, George, Cook, Housekeeper, Steward, and later on, Leon) no one knows exactly who else knows. So there's a lot of awkward shuffling and suspecting side eyes as they try and tiptoe around it all. None of the guards that don't know are EVER put to duty outside Arthur's chambers, and they're kept away from places Merlin frequents as much as possible (the armoury, the stables, the physician's chambers, the washer rooms, etc) just because Merlin has no spatial awareness and never realises when there’s a guard right next to him/just around the corner.

Oddly enough, other than Leon and Lancelot, none of the main knights are in the know, with everyone’s reasoning being that... they’re the most loyal to The King. And as much as Leon and Gwen can vouch for them, they don’t like actively telling people about the magic, they just... corral people if they find out accidentally. Lancelot, despite knowing about the magic, also has no idea about this whole thing, but everyone else knows that he knows. It’s stupid. It’s complicated. But Gwen, Leon, and George are in too deep now to backtrack so... they just carry on going.

So yeah. They cover for him all the time. At any given night there will be at least one knight or guard in the tavern, so whenever Arthur kicks up a fuss about how “Merlin can’t have been at the tavern again.” they’ll start spreading rumours about how whip smart Merlin is at poker, because he won against Halbrand, Remus, Gregor, and Flint last night. When they know Merlin has snuck out to deal with something, they’ll make sure someone in-the-know is posted on the outer city walls, so they can send word when Merlin is sneaking back in. This just means they can clear the main courtyard and route to the Physician’s Chambers of anyone so that Merlin can still think no one noticed him coming and going.

After a few years, people notice that there are two days a year, later on three, that Merlin does actually disappear to the tavern for. It took Leon a little while to figure out, and he still isn’t entirely sure he’s right, but the first one falls on the day that Merlin had to leave Camelot to protect his home from ransackers. Gwen had mentioned one of his friends had died, and the word is spread to make sure Merlin is left alone that day. The second... he isn’t sure, to be honest. He knows it falls around the week that the beast had appeared, bought by the bounty hunter, but he’s not sure if that’s relevant. He thinks maybe the beast must have killed one of Merlin’s friends, and again, the word is spread. The third is easy. The third falls around the day the dragon had attacked. Leon himself, as well as many of the knights and guards, head tot eh tavern that week. He finds it odd though, that Merlin seems to separate himself from the memorials, from the drinking songs, from those that gather in mourning, almost like he’s mourning something else entirely. But again, Leon doesn’t question it, and the word is spread.

When he’s noticeably injured, Gwen, George, the Housekeeper, and the Steward will randomly have free days/extra servants available to help out, to lessen his workload. When he’s exhausted, the Steward and Leon will reorganise things so Arthur doesn’t have anything important on in the morning, and Merlin can sleep in. I guess it’s just lots of stuff like that, small things, that Merlin could probably live without but... well, these people love and respect him so much, why would they leave him to suffer alone?? It’s not just the fact that Merlin protects the Kingdom with magic, after all, it’s the fact that he’s so lovely, to everyone. He helps treat the guards’/knights’ injuries without judgment, he’ll cover for people when they’re sick, he’ll do other people’s workloads just to be kind. So yeah, they look after him. Not just because he’s a vigilante or whatever, but because he’s Merlin.

I just... they look out for him, ya know?? And maybe he finds out, in which case he’s very embarrassed that so many people knew about it. Or maybe he doesn’t know, maybe he never knows, and all those people continue to protect him from behind the scenes, the same way he protects Camelot. Who knows.

in my opinion there isn't a more rinharu-coded song in existence than this one. let me cook.

to begin with, the entire scene in the film is about the journey of two kids, full of dreams and expectations for the future. we have the dreamy protagonist who attracts and convinces his love interest to share his same dream, and the love interest accepts, and as they grow up, she becomes as excited as he is about that promised future. does that ring a bell?

I close my eyes and I can see The world that's waiting up for me That I call my own Through the dark, through the door Through where no one's been before But it feels like home

the whole beginning of the song screams "rin matsuoka", in fact, the whole song is from his perspective. he himself said similar words when he was little and sought to fulfill his father's dream. and we've also heard him say several times that "the world is waiting for him". he's a boy with a dream and the will to make it come true.

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy They can say, they can say I've lost my mind I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy We can live in a world that we design

to me, this is the part that least fits his story, simply due to the fact that in rin's case he was lucky enough to have all the support possible, and no one ever denied him the opportunity to pursue his dreams. it's a privileged position that i'm sure rin is very grateful for. of course, we could take it as a "i know everyone thinks it's difficult (and it is, not everyone becomes an olympic swimmer) but i can do it".

and really, the important detail is in the ending phrase, because it's the first time in the song that "we" is used instead of "i". haru enters the scene.

we have the first chorus, which follows the same theme: rin has a big dream, but now there's something else. he's referring to the world as "ours". the world we're gonna make.

for rin, this is no longer an individual dream, and the change of mind it's obvious because he managed to find his other half at such a young age and he wants to share everything with him; rin has always been able to see the potential haru has, and wants to take him by the hand throughout the trip, to see him shine at his best. rin himself says it on one occasion; "without haru in front of him, there isn't much reason to keep going, right?"

everyone and their mothers knows rin fell for haru at first sight, the poor thing, and since he saw him swim the first time, rin was fascinated and not only that, it became his personal goal to include haru in his dream at all costs. he tells sousuke, with the brightest smile in the world, that he had found someone he wanted to swim with.

from that moment on, haru became part of the dream. after all, not everyone would try as hard for a person as rin did. he abruptly changed schools and swim clubs, went to live with his grandmother in order to do it, left his best friend behind, and... well, rin really went through that entire process just to be able to be together with haru for a while.

and the hard work didn't end there, no. because haru turned out to be a very difficult person, god bless our little stubborn dolphin, and rin had to work twice as hard just to convince him to swim together. ah, but the result was worth it. and all of this didn't change even as they grew up and their relationship turned turbulent. rin was always there, trying to get the full potential out of haru, trying to share his dream with him. and it worked.

rin didn't know it, but he had haru wrapped around his fingers.

"and what about haru?" you say. this is from haru. this part of the song is haru's response to rin's desire to take the world into his own hands.

"share your dreams with me", the relay they won when they were kids, rin's letter, the wonderful relay they did in high school, harurinlandia... we all know how important australia was to haruka. it was there, thanks to rin sharing a little piece of his world, his dream, that haru was finally able to make that same dream his own, too. we saw him, he was so happy.

"you may be right, you may be wrong, but say that you'll bring me along" and isn't that what haru has always wanted? isn't that his biggest weakness? when rin leaves and abandons him? and haru is so frustrated, so bitter, so lonely, and his soul just breaks? it's like he's desperately saying "you can go wherever you want, just please take me with you".

and you may think i'm overreacting but... am i?

haru wants to have a taste of that world rin pushed him into. although perhaps at the beginning it was not by his own will, haru had already been enchanted, and he wants, wants, wants.

i'm not going to repeat the chorus or the pre-chorus again in the post to avoid becoming redundant, but holy shit.

this song is rin holding haru's hand when they were kids to drag him along. is haru slowly following the beat. is rin giving haru a little spin. then, is haru finally daring to dance, too. is both pursuing the same wish, a wish they've cultivated since childhood, and now with each step it just feels closer and closer.

i don't know, I just feel it's beautiful.

i actually have so much material about this particular plot that i had no idea how to go about putting it down in a coherent way, so in the end i tried to write the kind of summary you would find on MDL, but i realize that without the romance part it's probably not very appealing ;;;;;;;;

im still not sure of how to make sense of everything i have in my head so im just gonna share my very messy notes about jimmysea's characters and their relationship (only them for now because if i did it for everyone we would be here for a really long time ;;;;;;;). here we go!!!!

sea: a bright young man who always has a smile on his face and seems to have no worries in the world. his happy-go-lucky personality and the fact that everything comes easy to him can make him come off as a bit arrogant, but he's actually surprisingly observant and caring. when he was 17 years old, his father died in the ER after a car accident, and because the other party involved was a boy from a wealthy family, sea has been convinced ever since that his father's death was due to the doctors choosing to prioritize the boy even if his condition was less severe. this loss inspired sea to study medicine to make sure that what happened to his father didn't happen to anyone else, but it also made him resentful, which is why he struggles to respect the hospital rules. this often puts him in conflict with earth, who thinks sea's natural talent isn't enough to justify his lack of discipline.

jimmy: the only medical student to have completed his specialization under the mentorship of jane's father and to have actually earned his respect, jimmy is now one of the most renowned surgeon in the country despite his young age. his charming and gentle personality makes him be liked and respected by everyone, but his workaholism has earned him the nickname of 'the ghost of [insert name] hospital', as he seems to hardly ever leave the place. after being left at the altar by the woman he loved, jimmy has given up on relationships entirely, throwing himself into work and constantly trying to dodge his sister's attempts to set him up with someone. his walls however start to slowly crumble under the power of sea's smile and small caring gestures.

basically on one of jimmy's usual late night at the hospital, he wonders into pediatric to discuss a case with mix and finds sea reading a bed time story to a small group of children. just like jimmy, sea too seems to be reticent to go home, so night after night they end up keeping each other company and spending more and more time together. at first it's just the two of them working in the same room, jimmy doing paperwork and sea studying for his upcoming medical exams, but eventually sea manages to coax him out of the hospital, first by taking him out to eat and then by taking him to sea's favorite places around town. sea is also full of small caring gestures that make jimmy's heart tremble: he leaves jimmy's favorite coffee on his desk for him to find after a particular rough night, he forces jimmy to take a break and get some rest, he cuts fruits for jimmy and is mindful of everything that has to do with jimmy's hands. as they get closer tho, jimmy also realizes that there's a lot more behind sea's smile than it first appears: sea's mother never quite recovered from the loss of her husband, and after three years from his death she started developing sever dementia, to the point she can no longer recognize sea and sometimes even mistakes him for her husband when sea smiles

in my head their relationship is a very slow burn as they help each other heal but also as they try to reconcile their feelings with the fact that they're still a mentor and an intern. earth is also jimmy's best friend and at first he very much does not approve of how close jimmy and sea became, but eventually he comes around

i’m not sure if you’ve spoken about this before but what do you think about all the replaced mc aus? ofc the bond that mc and the brothers couldn’t be replicated by a new student. the brothers were very reluctant to form a pact with mc and only did so under very specific circumstances and under the knowledge that mc wouldn’t abuse those pacts (bc tbh mc only ever uses the pacts to get them to calm down). and presumably new students wouldn’t stay in the house of lamentation. i can’t remember if it’s stated in the actual story, but i’m pretty sure mc only stayed with the brothers to protect them from the anti-human sentiment in the devildom which seems to have calm down at the end of mc’s first exchange programme. plus the brothers and mc have been through a lot togther bc they were forced to spend so much time together. but i can’t really picture what new human exchange students would look like so i was wondering if you have any posts or if you’ve got old posts that talk about this.

Yup in S1 they said MC was staying with the brothers because of anti-human sentiment but at this point in S4 they've also said that though some of that is still there people have also become more accepting so I don't think it's likely at all for someone else to end up in the HoL

MC making the pacts were also under very special circumstances;

I have one whole post about Mammon's pact formation and how he said in s3 he wouldn't make a pact with any random human & so why MC never was just any random human

They formed a pact with Levi 'cos they already had one formed with Mammon & so he told them how to go about doing so.

They formed a pact with Beel because they tried to protect Beel from Lucifer at the cost of their own life and listened to his troubles about Lilith's death - Lucifer's come far enough that he's not gonna go around threatening to kill his brothers or random humans and Beel's more or less had his closure that now talking about Lilith won't be a big enough deal to warrant a pact

They formed a pact with Asmo because Solomon gave them a bit of his magic which reacted with the latent magic they got from Lilith and it impressed Asmo

They formed a pact with Satan as a sign of friendship after he first tried to force them into a pact to piss off Lucifer - Satan's no longer at that stage where he would do something like that just to piss off Lucifer

Belphie formed a pact with them because he manipulated them, spent one on one time with them without the others, got released by them & then killed them (and yes maybe a little because they were related to Lilith) - his pact was absolutely a sign that they were both ready to put all that behind them AND that he could no longer hurt them like that

Lucifer tried to frame his pact as a way to establish dominance but he absolutely formed it as a show of trust and to show they were past of the family (afterall the first thing he does in S2 is give them a key to the house) and though Lucifer has grown to trust people more I don't see him trusting people enough to call them close friends and family considering how protective he is over his friends and family. And how he refuses to make a pact with Solomon despite the fact that he now falls into the category of a close family friend

Plus there's a lot of canon evidence that MC isn't fully human and since people can't seem to pin what they are and given Lilith's circumstances they're probably the only one of their kind so I'm not sure how the replaced MC AU would work in that regard...

Also you're not gonna go through so much with one person and then replace them? If anything a friend group will expand to absorb the new people like it's doing with Thirteen, Raphael & Mephisto

0-Sen Hayato - Volume 3

It feels like it took me a whole year to get through this one lol. It's boring, but not the worst thing I've ever read. Sometimes something spicy will happen (like someone dying or the romance side plot inches forward) and that's enough to keep me going.

Ch. 23

-In this chapter the gang tries to blow off some steam by goofing off and dancing (and getting drunk) but then their superior's superior comes in and chews them out. Hayato and Ishikawa get exiled (?) and sent to the jungle where they run into "a ghost." Meanwhile, the Americans plot their attack.

Ch. 24

-Hayato and Ishikawa find Ishiki in the woods wounded and bring him back to camp despite being exiled. Ishiki warns them about the encroaching enemy and then we cut to some sort of D-Day-esque scenario on the beach. The squad isn't allowed to participate in the battle because their territory is the skies, so they just watch on.

Ch. 25

-The boys continue to scramble to kill themselves for their country and for glory...this is seriously the least relatable thing I've ever read lol

-I don't really get how war works. If the air force can just attack the people on the ground, why didn't they just always do that? Lack of resources maybe? It kinda seems like an OP tactic...

Ch. 26

-This chapter was WILD. Hayato convinces the gang to kill a bunch of monitor lizards and dump their blood in the ocean. Then when the bad guys (Americans probably) attempted to storm the beach a bunch of sharks gathered and ate them all. That's wacky enough, but then they said that 10,000 soldiers were eaten!? Wtf...not possible. (I googled this and apparently there was a WWII incident where an American ship sank and 890 people were left in shark infested waters, probably the closest thing irl to this manga's ridiculousness).

-This manga has an anti-kamikaze stance, but it also shows its heroes as constantly ready and eager to die for Japan so...mixed signals.

Ch. 27

-I kinda liked this one, at least we got to meet Ishiki's sister (now a nurse). Of course everyone instantly has a crush on her because they're women-starved

-Wtf was up with the "muu" grass? It was strangely magical, like a tentacle monster? I guess since the last chapter jumped the shark (hehe) they feel like they can get away with this magical realism BS.

-Ishiki is WAY too committed to his rival bit. Someone needs to smack some common sense into him before he gets himself killed for real.

Ch. 28

-Ishiki continues to act recklessly, but I guess he's just getting away with it for now? Not sure if he just figured out how to compensate for his bad eye or if he got lucky and something bad will happen in the future...

-I think Hayato's dad just died? Hard for me to tell cuz all middle aged men look identical to me. Hayato did say "I sense a disturbance in the force" (paraphrasing). So I'm probably right. That seems like a pretty major character death for this series so I was a little taken aback!

Ch. 29

-Okay phew, I got it right. In this chapter Hayato finds out about his father's death and inherits his plane and katana. I thought the emotion of it all was handled pretty well without going into any melodrama. Since soldiers sign up knowing they might die (especially Japanese soldiers in WII) they'll probably react more stoically to that kind of news.

-We find out that it was the King Satan airplane that shot down Hayato's dad, because of course it was. Gotta give more fuel to the silly rivals plot. Ishiki acts like a douchebag again and is like "sorry about your dad, but I'm gonna make this about ME" lol. At least I can laugh at how cartoonishly shitty he is.

Ch. 30

-Hayato tries to figure out how to operate his Dad's plane which is "different from other Zero airplanes" (or whatever you call those in English). I didn't really get what he was saying about it, but I figured I probably wouldn't get it in English either so it's fine lol

-We get to see the nurse girls again which is always nice. The chubby one with braids is adorable. Of course they made each girl have a crush on their male counterpart (chubby girl likes chubby guy, skinny girl with a hooked nose likes the dude with a hooked nose, etc.) Whatever, there's so little body diversity in anime girls nowadays that seeing this lil bit of variety is refreshing.

Ch. 31

-The Bakufuutai's rival squad (the Shiuntai) get 35 new pilots but they are very inexperienced (only 150 hours of flight training). The Bakufuutai tries to be good senpai and stop them from flying recklessly, but the Shiuntai's leader is being a jerk as usual and tells them they can't tell his squad what to do. I should probably learn that guy's name lol.

-The hairy dude with big lips gets his own big lipped girl who's in love with him. Unfortunately they used this as an opportunity to make her "ugliness" a joke. Hey! If dudes are allowed to look funky girls should be allowed too >:/

Ch. 32

-This chapter was far too dialogue heavy and I barely followed what was happening. All I got was that Hayato and Ishiki were begging their leaders to not send the newbies off on a mission and then Hayato and friends end up being sent off to Manila for some reason. The nurse love interest creepily talks about being prepared to die a bunch...

Soft Omega Steddie sounds like a dream! I've not read a lot of Omega/Omega fics and I'm so curious how that dynamic will play out.

The Flayed!Billy Soulmate AU story sounds heartbreaking but will probably also be amazing so I'm putting my readers heart (faith/hope) into your capable hands.

UD!Billy also sounds wonderful! I've seen some artwork here on Tumblr with that whole theme and it's always breathtaking.

And it's pretty damn amazing that you are able to write everyday. I wish my brain worked like that but I tend to switch hobbies and right now writing is more on the forefront of my mind. But even then I only write when I 'feel like it'.

I always think commission writing must be so hard to do because it usually does have deadlines and it's an idea from someone else and what if you don't write the idea good enough. (Though my latest fic is from the idea of one of my readers but the idea was very broad and I could add all my little details that I wanted).

And of course you get money for those stories and that adds a whole other level of 'will people like this'. No, I don't think I could ever do that and I find it awesome that you can. 👍

I am SO excited for Omega!Steddie. I really love the intensity that an Alpha/Omega dynamic brings but there is something very very good about Omegas together and you see it a lot in the background of most of my fics, specifically with like, Omega!Ironhawk or in Spideypool it’s Peter and usually MJ— it really brings an extra layer of affection and understanding in a verse that is highly sexual and usually angsty and I adore it.

The Omega!Steddie fic is going to have some amazingly beautiful scenes PLUS I have this new idea for the format/framing of the fic that I’ve never done before and I’m going to contrast it against the Alpha!BillySteve fic “Savage” so it will sort of feel like reading parallel fics. Like a real study in just who Steve H would be and how he would love depending on his gender. Super excited.

The Flayed!Billy fic is… whew. It’s gonna be a big one. I know some people don’t like soulmate tropes but I LOVE them and I love the idea of soulmates having to work and claw and fight their way into loving each other because that makes it so so good. I mean, I love the “we made eye contact and now I’m yours” trope too, it does wonders for my poor bitter heart but soulmate stories where they know they are meant to be together but there is just Too Much in the way at first… all good things.

Re: Writing Commissions: I used to not write them for exactly that ^^ reasons— I was so stressed out about whether or not I’d write the story well enough to justify the readers time and money, like I didn’t even take prompts other than my Sundays with Spideypool because I was terrified of getting one of those “this isn’t what I wanted” messages.

Thankfully I have a really amazing following of readers who know and trust my writing enough to give me the freedom to just sort of GO. They give me an idea and usually just want to be informed of major plot points, honestly most of my readers want to be surprised by the end product and I love that so much. I do get some commissions that are very detailed right down to “they should say this in the marriage proposal” but other times I’ve gotten m commissions that are literally “I want Spideypool and make it bitey, plot doesn’t matter.” Andnsince I generally have no idea what a word count is, my readers know if they give me some leeway within the basic parameters of the fic, they’ll almost always get something way bigger than what they paid for.

I’ve been lucky enough to only have a few times where I ran into someone that was so overly picky about what they wanted that I ended up doing four or five rewrites and/or continuously wanted more story than they were willing to pay for (ie: wanted a 5k word price but refused to budge on any ideas even though I told them repeatedly it was too much story for that price point) so I just don’t work with them anymore.

Generally though, my commission experience has been amazing AND since I email my commissioners literally constantly (LITERALLY constantly, most of my 50k + fics involve hundreds of emails worth of communication) I’ve had the chance to meet and become friends with some honestly lovely people. My commissions and KoFi page all go directly towards my stack of medical bills and I’m always so so grateful for every single one.

Listen I WISH my job was actually being a writer but uhhhhh life is too expensive for that so until I find a sugar mama ready to spoil me and let me write all day long, I’ve also gotta do the 9-5 thing 😂

StrayGods!Anon here, and first of, Congrats on The Offspring!! ❤❤❤ I wanted to say thank you for answering and that "finding compassion" and "forcing our side to do better" are very much possible in ST:TRM and that the kiddos changing together is very much the point of the Freddie Lives storyline, so I think you may enjoy them. And also, I honestly wasn't gonna ramble about my very specific OCs but honestly that's the best excuse ever to rec a few fics which I think every MHA fan deserves to experience at least once so, yeah, rambling it is. Hope that's ok.

I haven't been keeping up with BHNA in a while so I may be misremembering but I'm pretty sure at one point is mentioned there was a Third World War which, as a plot point, it is a great way to explain how technology may have mostly stagnated but they can still have crazy support tech and can send holograms in acceptance letters. But, last I checked, it wasn't a plot point that got explored and keeping the ST:TRM's take on Aphrodite would allow for that exploration and for just the right context to plop this OC on. Besides, it's a much more interesting (and heartbreaking) version of her than that of PJO and the themes of her storyline are heavy enough to make the seriousness of their situation impossible to ignore. /AKA: If you check nothing else about ST:TRM please let that be "Stray Gods 鈥� The Ritual 鈥� Red Path".

The OC I'm talking about was always meant to be an Aphrodite kid who was very disenchanted with his mother and demi siblings, someone who seemed just as untouchable as All Might from a distance but was just as flawed and vulnerable once you got close (if in different ways), and he was always meant to die. He was inspired by a bunch of different things and while I hadn't considered him for an BNHA AU before but he fits like a glove here. I kinda themed him around The Golden Apple of Discord, which got reflected in his appearance, personality, the sheer amount of plot hooks he could generate, and his last name being linked to an apple variety. He got the name Prospero Fortunato Worcester (aka Lucky) because just around the time his dad realized who the mother was he also realized his boy was gonna need all the luck he could get, and he wasn't wrong. Just like many other Aphrodite kids, this boy had a lot of unwanted attention sent his way and it was what messed him so badly in the end. I sort of envisioned him as having golden brown skin, reddish hair and the kind of eyes that make think of firebenders, but what really made him stand out wasn't his good looks but his charm and hard-earned skills.

Personality-wise I want you to imagine what would happen if a pan version of the very gnc Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel was a deceptively angry couples' therapist who isn't so much interested in helping you solve your problems but in judging/punishing you for not treating your partner as they deserve. He's totally the kind of person who during a quest would have at one point have to make a choice between chucks and stilettos and may've actually chosen the chucks 'cuz practicality... unless someone questioned his ability to *use* stilettos. Then not only he'd have chosen those but he'd make a point of use them as improvised weapons as much as possible regardless of impracticality. If some asshole ever tried taking off a ring before flirting with him he'd flirt back... and then use the distraction to steal said asshole's ring, wallet and maybe even car. After all, even tho he didn't get involved in many quests, he was on the road a lot and would definitely be more *appreciative* of what he gets.

His reason for being always on the road was inspired on a really interesting fic I unfortunately don't remember the name of. The premise of the fic being an investigation of where did the kids of the less easy-to-turn-kid-friendly gods went and what their powers may be. Some of those kids were the children of Eros, and while I have trouble imagining PJO Eros having kids outside his marriage I can easily see it coming from ST:TRM Eros, whose wife doesn't seem to be in the picture anymore. The power/curse of these kids was in their allure and I couldn't stop worrying about the kind of mundane monsters some defenseless kids who don't understand their heritage could attract outside the safety of the camps. Considering satyrs are the children of the god of Lust, Mischief, and Wild Things, they may not have been the best match to ferry those kids to safety... and that's were Lucky comes in. His life was basically those first 4 seasons of spn that were a constant road-trip of killing monsters to save people.

As for why he had sucha distinct role, well... that's tragic backstory territory. Baby Lucky was a charming little boy born as the oldest kid and only boy from a loving family so mixed they lost track of ancestry and a very MLK reverend who made sure to pass down the right values onto his children. Y'know, someone who was very much about equality and social justice but with a dash of God Is Love And Love Is Life that would have appealed even to ST:TRM Aphrodite despite the different religious background. The only reason they were ok with letting him start camp young was because they hoped it would give him the best chance at safety; they were wrong. He never quite fit with his Aphrodite siblings, only partly because that whole "completing" someone that Piper stuck them with reeked of codependency instead of anything his family taught him about love. But other than that he had no problems making friends *without* Charmspeak. Yes, he did have it but consent was a thing he cared about too so he only used it when absolutely necessary. And he was so talented and eager to learn that he got skilled fast; maybe too fast, who knows how his life would've gone if he hadn't gone on a quest so soon.

Regardless, on his very first quest this Angel Dust met his Valentino. A very magically powerful being took a liking to our lovely Lucky boy and did *not* took rejection well. They cursed him with a suitably heroic fate whereupon everyone he loves would be fated to die, except themselves of course. Now that would be a terrible fate for everyone but for a kid from the Godess of Love... yeah, our boy was wrecked. And of course the camp couldn't turn its back on him, especially since it was obvious to everybody that Aphrodite could have lifted the curse if she bothered so, evidently he was on his own to fix things. Therefore he pretty much cut ties with basically everybody, including his mortal family, and dedicated himself to finding a way to reversing the curse or, failing that, to perma-kill the bastard who cast it. In order to do so he got closer to the Hecate kids while still keeping his self-imposed distance as best as possible. It helped than one of his best friends from before then was a very respected Hecate kid that was as understanding as possible of his situation and wanted to see him go back to his old self. And he was granted his new role as a way to help him train and research while keeping himself and others safe as much as possible since life on the road shouldn't allow for many deep interpersonal connections.

A more self-imposed social distancing attempt was his habit of calling people just by nicknames and having them call him by his own; no learning of names. Although perhaps the fact that everyone but his godly siblings got a personalized nickname defeated the purpose of that. As for the other children of Aphrodite they all just got called Dove; which was cute enough so long as you didn't know he called *actual* doves winged rats. Or that he would unfailingly take hairspray and lighter to any suspiciously gathered flock of the things for being enemy birds. He resented his mother treatment of him and the general parental neglect from Gods but he knew there was nothing he could do about it. So he dove right into magic and used it to take that old God Is Love And Love Is Life to the extreme of being able to use his godly powers to either heal, inflict seemingly unending emotional torment on monster and human alike, or even siphon the life-force from anything living through direct contact and use it to empower/heal himself and add it to the strength of his attacks. And he complemented this already OP arsenal with any and all magical trinkets he could carry, plus amazing fighting/weapon skills of his own. Maybe he was trying to distance himself from her mother's perceived legacy but if anything he was the son to most closely resemble her, at least in her Aphrodite Areia and Venus Genetrix aspects. She may've been proud... had she bothered to be part of his life.

Despite this he was never assigned nor invited to any quests after that first one (and would likely have declined any invites anyways) since quests are bound to forge strong bonds between people. That is until a new prophecy demanded it and kinda hinted he'd face the bastard who cursed him then. The way I envisioned his plotline he'd join the MC in their quest and have plenty of chances to show off his badassery and protectiveness in indispensable ways, right alongside his charm and self-destructiveness. Needless to say it wouldn't have taken him long to touch everyone's hearts despite his best efforts. And at some point the confrontation with his Valentino came to pass but no one managed to catch more than the tail end of it where a conversation seemed to have taken place and our Lucky boy started laughing before perma-killing the bastard. The actual objective of the quest got fulfilled as well and for a while everything seemed more than ok. Our boy dropped most of his more self-destructive habits and seemed to have gone back to who he was as much as it was possible for someone who'd changed so much. He reconnected with all the family and friends who'd have him back and seemed to revel in their company. But soon enough the contents of that fateful conversation came to light and not by choice. He'd never claimed the curse had been lifted but as it turns out, it got reversed. In an attempt to save himself the bastard threatened to make so that if he were to be killed by Lucky and he dared to love anyone afterwards then he'd be signing his own death sentence. So now his former quest partners are on a self-imposed quest to reverse *that*. Lucky himself couldn't care less but tags along 'cuz he doesn't want his idiots to get killed in his behalf. Everyone else gives it their all. They still fail. Just as Lucky thought they would and never blamed them for.

In this DOZI/ST:TRM AU I think he should be death since well before Izuku was offered OFA but that his presence should still be felt. And, I'm just spitballing her but, since this Izuku never developed a hero-worship for Bakugou, can you imagine how that offer would've been affected by Lucky filling up that role for Izuku instead? If this boy had already seen one of his imperfect but amazing and seemingly untouchable heroes die before meeting an All Might that's obviously holding by a thread he'd jump at the chance of keeping him from a tragic fate. After both the eidolon and daddy dearest he wouldn't even question quirks being transferable but he may have questions about whether or not anything besides power is passed down with OFA. Also, this Izuku would probably have some very conflicted feelings towards The Godess Of Love.

With that essay over, I just wanna say that looking back I found a really answer you gave about what you'd like to explore if you were to DOZI and it being either amazing crack or thoughtful dive into heavy themes and since I've always been a "Why not both?" kinda gal I'm gonna get straight to reccing those fics I mentioned. First off, I think having had Lucky in his life would鈥檝e made Izuku a lot less tolerant of Mineta and therefore far faster in helping the girls pull the Fury level power play they threw down at the creep in "Mineta's No Good Very Bad Vibes (or: where enough is enough)" by hannahbal. But also that ask about everything about the funky bean being contagious reminded me of "don't you just want to go apeshit?" by kkachis, MargaritaDaemonelix, which is an amazing read for anyone who has yet to see the potential of memes as a tool of psychological warfare. And lastly, the "god Izuku needs a nap" series by Universal_stoat has the Vestiges pulling some UA Unsolved bs that ends up convincing a bunch of people of Izuku's godhood which, kinda fitting for any Greek Gods AU.

my current feelings: im hurt and sad. i think jake doesnt love me because he has been less sexual toward me the last two days. it hurts my feeling that im always so sexual. im such a sexual person and i never find someone who is on the same level as me. it's frustrating. because it makes me feel so unloved. like what did i do to make him not want to touch me? how long is it gonna last? what can i do to change? what do i need to do to make him love me?

rationally: do i need to speak to my therapist about this? like am i placing my personal value as only sexual so if jake doesnt have sex with me, i feel i have no value. or is it just my love language and its perfectly fine for me to feel sad because sex is how i show and feel love?

exploring the first option, yes, i have been sexualized from a very young age. i think 12 was when i started getting on websites i shouldnt have been getting on and talking to men i shouldnt have been talking to. so growing up, as other people sexualized me, i sexualized myself. and like a lot of my relationships with men as i got older were all online and based purely on being horny. it was always very rare for me to have male friends that were not sexual to me both in person and online. and even as i came into adulthood, i have always been quick to be sexual in relationships.

maybe its because i feel like if i have sex with someone, theyll be forced to love me. or like maybe theyll love me because i have sex with them.

baseline, if jake doesn't want to have sex. thats fine. because i know if i didnt want to for whatever reason at all, he wouldnt make me. he wouldnt even make a move to test the waters. i mean also for the obvious reason that no means no. if someone clearly doesnt want to have sex right that second, the answer is no. it is so okay if jake just isnt in the mood for whatever reason. i just want to understand why it makes me feel so poorly. like im sure there could be a multitude of reasons as to why, but i want to know why so i can work on fixing it.

because the way my mind works, even in practicing cognitive behavioral therapy, i cant bring myself to be confident enough. like i get upset because i think jake doesnt love me anymore or he isn't attracted to me or hes cheating; the list goes on. i am not confident enough to say to myself "jake loves me. he thinks im pretty. our relationship is secure." because what if it isnt? but i also know that it is. but it feels like if i say it out loud, the opposite will happen. and i do this often. just like i always go to the hospital when i have chest pains because im afraid that the one time im able to convince myself that im not having a heart attack, i'll be having one and itll be too late.

and im sure that this all stems from being insecure in myself. and i really hate that. i dont know how to get myself out of a loop like that because im genuinely so afraid of being confident things are going great when they actually arent.

i know jake loves me. i know he thinks im the prettiest thing ever. i know he lives, breathes, and dies for me. i know that. hes proven that to me. hes a good man. and im more than lucky to have him.

thats also why its so frustrating to feel insecure. especially because its not his problem. its mine. i understand that there are ways to compromise in certain situations to make one person in the relationship less insecure. like jake calls my pretty every single day. i know he says it because he means it. but i also know that he knows it makes me feel good. but thats simple. thats easy. theres nothing i can do to make him want to have sex with me if he just doesnt want to for whatever reason. im sure hes tired. tonight, he fell asleep pretty well as soon as his head hit the pillow. theres no reason for me to be hurt. but i am.

i just want to figure out how to not spiral into this pit of thinking im unloved. i get in my head and i think like how i used to. that ive always known no one will love me. and ive always known that i would spend the rest of my life with a man who doesnt care about what i want. but that thought process isnt fair to me and its not fair to jake either. because hes doing his best and his best is great.

writing this out has helped kind of keep me from spiraling because im rationalizing my feelings and not giving myself the opportunity to just lay in the bed and let my thoughts run wild. it's frustrating to have to do that though. i mean i dont mind writing down my thoughts. its just annoying to have to do it over something that shouldnt be making me feel this way.

my feelings are mine and its okay that im having them. im not trying to push them away completely. i just want to stop immediately thinking that jake doesnt love me just because he doesnt want to have sex.

its not something that needs to be completely sorted out right this second. you cant change over night. but its something that i needed to reflect on and that i need to continue reflecting on so that i can support myself better in the future. to the point where eventually, i wont need to support myself, itll be something that isnt such a big deal

Look, Childe's arguably one of the richest characters. He'd spoil you like the world's gonna end tomorrow. Giving you plushies, flowers, candy, dinners, anything you desire, he can find a way to acquire.

He's like Kaeya in a way, peppering your face in light kisses and looking at you with a smile that replays in your mind over and over.

the king was looking for a husband for his wonderful daughter,, and she had rejected so many princes

the king had then called on to some palm readers and soothsayers that had said that the ‘prince’ destined to be his daughter's husband is currently trapped in a tower

the king did more research and came in contact with a small country, who's king and queen had died and their own child, the prince, was locked in a tower guarded by a dragon

the king then appointed you to find the tower, rescue the prince who would marry the princess as a sign of gratitude and they could rule the smaller country together

you agreed obviously

you were cheered on by everyone as you embarked on the journey, alone, with nothing but your horse to listen to your mindless chatter

and honestly, everything was going well like the trip wasn't too tough it was just really long

when you finally reached the castle, instead of causing a scene and all to you know ‘slay the dragon’ you simply found a back way to get up to the tower

you opened the door and then you heard someone singing, “prince joshua?” you called out and the singing stopped

“i am a knight, sir, loyalty is one of the few idiosyncrasies we can offer.”

“alright then,, I trust you– you better not let me down,,” joshua spoke as he grabbed a backpack with all of his belongings.

you used the same way to avoid the dragon and started on with your journey

at first,,, you truly thought joshua was some stuck-up prince but the more you spent time with him,, the more you realized that joshua was literally a gentleman who would be the perfect ruler of the country

he acted like an asshole before because he was sick and tired of people trying to rescue him and take all the glory

you understood his anger and ever since then joshua had been so sweet,,,

joshua wouldn't let you carry his bag, he'd make sure you were getting enough rest during the journey and one day he even offered to keep an eye out so that you could sleep

you on the other hand, taught joshua on how to light a fire etc and even some basic etiquettes,, cause I mean even if he was a prince he was trapped in a tower for so long

one time, you guys had stopped to stay by the river for the night and soon it was early morning and you woke up and saw joshua wasn't near you??

sO YOU PANICKED BEC OBVIOUSLY DID HE JUST RUN OFF BECAUSE IF HE DID THAT MF WAS IN FOR A RIDE

and you immediately ran around the place only to find him in the river,, waist deep into the water, except– he was half naked??

soon enough, reached the palace and you were kinda upset that you know joshua had to go and well,,, get married and part of you really wished it wouldn't work out

because you had bonded with him so well you just ,,,,, started liking him and it broke your heart knowing you couldn't have him

besides, he didn't reciprocate anything either so it'd be useless to even imagine

but when you told the king and queen and they met joshua

they were like ??? you didn't get the message??

and you were like what message??

“the princess already found someone she liked and she's getting married in like a month–?”

and you were pissed more than you were happy

not because all this effort was for nothing but the fact that poor joshua,,, he might have been looking forward to this

so you talked to the king and queen and they said that joshua should go back to his country now

you left the room and started crying because you felt as if it was all your fault

“hey, are you okay?” you heard a voice behind you say,,,,, it was joshua

you wiped your tears, “y-yeah I'm good,” you managed to choke out.

and before you could leave, joshua wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into his chest, where you broke down and told him everything

you especially kept on apologizing to him and said that you'd make everything right and even find him a princess if you have too

“its okay if the princess doesn't want to marry me,,,, cause I found my princess right here,” he cooed and you chuckled because he was so cheesy,, typical Joshua

“but still josh, I'll take you back to the tower and all,” you told him

“nope, no need too– I need to go back to my country and look after my people as well, I've done enough damage as it is.”

“right”

“are you going to come with me if I go?” he asked, hoping you'd say yes

“I'm a knight, i can't leave the country....” you answered.

and then Josh was like okay hollup I'll talk to the king and the queen

and boi went into the room where the king and queen were while you waited outside and they called you inside eventually

and the king and queen were like,, “we would like you to resign,,, so you can marry joshua and go rule his country.”

and you were like ??????HOW DID HE SWEET TALK THEM INTO THIS EYE

the king and queen said they'd like to give you an official good bye if you could stay for another two to three days and you and Josh agreed

Josh had to stay in one of the palace rooms

and it was 7am you were going to talk to joshua about something very important and you knocked and opened his room door

anD HE WAS STANDING WITHOUT A SHIRT

Him being the unlucky boy he is, he would rather have a date with you where it's most likely very safe. He doesn't want to intentionally bring any trouble to you. A picnic in the wild, for example, could easily attract some monsters nearby. He'll most likely would like to have a date with you in his or your own home. What can possibly happen there? He thought.

Open. He's a very open person to you. If he's sad, then he'll seek for comfort within your arms. Where's the point in hiding if you're gonna find out anyways?

There's no second he wouldn't try to hold hands with you, even if it could get a bit embarrassing in his opinion. But he'd even try to hold your hands during a battle. He loves to intertwine your fingers too! A sucker for your affection.

Of course he'd be worried sick and would blame himself and his bad luck, even if he wasn't the cause at all. Definitely would try to patch you up but he'd bring you to a decent healer just to be extra sure and not to worsen things.

He will joke around with you, you're technically partners in crime. Bennett would prank you but only in small and harmless amounts. His pranks towards you are more the kind of cute ones.

You often initiate the kisses. He's still a bit shy about all that romantic stuff, so give him some time. You giving him some pecks on his forehead and or cheeks will make him flustered and he'll be at loss of words.

By many ways actually. Little presents, affection and of course saying it to you, often even with a cute little stutter!

When you admitted your feelings for him as well. He never thought you would ever love him back, he's so clumsy, how can someone as great as you return his feelings? He thought they're unrequited, so you can imagine his happiness.

You leaving him because of his misfortune. He's a little insecure about it and you leaving him because of it will tear his world along with his heart apart.

Definitely his bad luck. Even though he dislikes it, it's a very cute trait to him, that not everyone has to this extend. And let's be honest, bad luck isn't always that bad!

He suffered less and less from his bad luck since he's with you, so a nickname he'll give you will be his lucky charm. But he'll also call you his precious sunshine, because that's what you are to him. You lighten his day and mood every time he sees you.

Alone at home during nighttime. He likes to be with you alone during a calm moment in his or your home at night. He can watch you without worrying about monsters or any other people that could ruin the quiet moment. He can admire you without any interruptions while he's in your arms all cuddled up to you.

Considering the fact that he's quite timid and has bad luck, he's rather creative and romantic in his own ways. He'd try to put those little sticks with his signature thumbs up in a heart shaped food he made you. Probably his Teyvat charred eggs.

There's no secret you don't know, he'll tell you even the most embarrassing ones. He fears that if he kept things for himself, it would only cause trouble between you two, so he is very open about secrets to you.

Quite some time. He was, and still is, shy considering those matters, he had to built up the courage first. You almost even decided to confess first, if he wouldn't anytime soon!

He'll get even more insecure. Was it something he said or did? Or perhaps it's because of his bad luck? He'll try to talk with you to understand why you're upset. If it really was something he did, then he'll be dejected but tries his best to never do it again for you. Nonetheless, if it's because of someone else, he'll confront that person, no matter if it's a knight or any other high person, no matter how frightening they look, he'll stand up for you. You're his everything after all.

He's proud that you're his. He can't help but feel glad that you love him too. Showing you off happens rather unconsciously. Like, he would talk to his friends about how great you are and how kind, but not to make them envy him or anything, he simply does it because he's happy.

Worried. Everytime you fight he is feeling proud and worried at the same time. He would definitely fight for and with you, trying to protect you with everything he got.

At the beginning he's a bit dense, one could say, but after some time he'll learn your body language and will be able to read you like an open book.

He's young, it'll take him some time to build up enough courage to actually ask for your hand in marriage, he was super shy when asking you out, so this is gonna be a huge challenge for him.

As said before, he loves getting affection from you. Cuddling with you will make him calm down and relax. Yet alone you being beside him calms him down greatly, he feels much more confident and at ease knowing there's someone who loves him even though he has such a bad luck.

One thing that is certain about Rory is that he’s not the best at saying “no”. So he’s up for whatever you are! Even though he can get a bit antsy he won’t mind spending a quiet day with you and he won’t mind running around town causing mayhem. He’s very neutral is what I’m saying. If he had to pick a favorite though, he loves it when you let him take you flying! He thinks it romantic.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

He admires your kindness and patience. Most people (aside from the Gang) would immediately snap at him for bothering them or asking a ”dumb question” but you answer them without much hesitation or annoyance. And he loves you for that

If we're talking physically, he absolutely loves your smile. Just knowing that his favorite person in the whole world is happy makes him 10x as happy! And he makes sure to let you know that. When you’re sad he’ll poke your face or do something stupid to get you to smile.

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

He's not the best with words so he'll try to cheer you up the best can. Just tell him what you need, and he’s got you. Snacks? He’s already back in 5 seconds with your favorites. More tissues? Bam, he’s brought you a baker’s dozen of boxes because he didn’t know what brand to get. Cuddles? Hell yeah!

He doesn't have any plans, he just hopes that you two will be together until the day you die. Rory’s an “in the moment” thinker and he plans on being in this teenage honeymoon stage forever. He might turn you though, but only if you're okay with it.

He likes to believe he's the man in the relationship as most teen boys would, but he's hella soft and if you so much as look disapprovingly at him he'll shut up pretty quickly. So yeah, he's pretty passive.

Rory is not very good at holding grudges. So he's very quick to forgive you whenever you have a disagreement, which rarely happens since he's pretty hard to upset. If things ever somehow managed to escalate he'd stay quiet until your done talking to apologize and change the subject. He really hates arguing and wants it to be over as soon as possible.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

He thinks about how lucky he is everyday and will never take anything for granted. He's not used to receiving attention (physical or otherwise) so he'll dwell on even the smallest things forever. He just can't believe that you are interested in him.

He might hide his vampire-ism for awhile due to Ethan and Benny, since apparently not everyone finds being with an undead creature of the night appealing. Aside from that he's an open book! He has a tendency to ramble so there will be virtually no secrets between you two.

Congrats, you've just made him even more clingy! Now he's physically incapable of being alone for too long and will seek you out because he misses you :( even if its been like 10 minutes

Rory doesn't get jealous due to his issues with social cues so he won't overthink any interactions you and someone else may be having. But on the off chance that he does get jealous he'll just get really pouty and try to drag you to do something else.

Rory is pretty inexperienced in the smooching department but he tries his best. His kisses are kinda stiff at first but the more comfortable he gets the warmer they are and the more he seeks them out. Surprise kisses are his personal favorite. He also loves doing the exaggerated 'mwah' sound too, the goof.

Being the wannabe Casanova he is, I feel like he asked you out a million times before you actually said yes. The time you said yes he actually tried to ditch the pick up lines and be sincere about it. I mean, how could you say no that face?

Eh, he's thought about it. Again he's never really been known to think ahead so it probably doesn't cross his mind all too often. But if he was asked he'd most likely say yes since "That's what people usually do, right?"

Literally every single one in the book. He's also pretty creative if "spice angel" and "blonde hottie mclovely" is anything to go off of. So you have an endless supply of petnames coming your way. His favorites are probably sweetcheeks, angel face, gum drop, fruit cake, and ragamuffin. He's very corny.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

You're all he will talk about. Ethan and Benny will be tired of it pretty soon. He'll also become more susceptible to his floating quirk whenever you so much as look at him. His head's in the clouds and his heart is full. Impressing you will become a main priority and he will not leave you alone. He's basically a lovesick puppy that follows you around.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Rory is very upfront about it. He's always bragging about you to everyone in the vicinity and he will be damned if someone won't hear about you atleast 5 times that day. He wants people to be jealous. And they should be! He gets to date you and they can't! The poor fools.

As for physical attention, he might be kinda shy to it at first. He's a teen boy and while things like that are exciting, he's also scared of embarrassing himself. So he mostly held your hand everywhere and refused to let go. But once he gets comfortable expect everything to be going your way. Pecks on the mouth, cheek, hugging, hand holding, the whole works! Though he won't do anything to risque like making out or anything.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Oddly enough, Rory is pretty good at reading your face. Or maybe he just worries about you alot. All you know is that any minute that you're not beaming with joy he's already asking what's wrong and if he can help. He just really doesn't want to see you upset so he'll make sure to check up on you when he can.

All Rory knows about romance are loads of cliches he's seen. He use to play up how bad alot of them were before he was with you, but now? Ho boy, they are his only language. Getting you gifts, saying weird lines, attempting to get dressed up for dates, and getting flowers (he'll do this no matter what gender you are and you can't tell me otherwise). Though he fumbles in the "smooth" part of the romantic gestures, he's really trying.

He believes in you so much its insane! He's literally your biggest fan when it comes to anything.

"You got a test coming up and you're worried about passing? There's no need, babe! You're a genius!"

"You're doing a certain extra curricular or club? Everyone is gonna be jealous of your greatnes. They can't compete!"

Hell, he'll even encourage you in things that sound absolutely terrible.

Being with him is honestly a series of surprises. You never know what you're in for whenever you two meet up. Sometimes you might even get pulled into whatever The Gang™️ want to solve. But you guys have one routine of always having a movie night on Fridays. Cuddling and snack binging ensue.

Even though he's scatter-brained he actually has a pretty great memory, especially when it comes to you. He notices a lot of your ticks due to almost always being around you somehow.

Rory doesn't always get social cues, so some things may fly over his head. But once he understands the situation he totally has your back.

Rory doesn't have . . . a lot of priorities. He has his friends, his mom, and virtually nothing else. So you're pretty high on his list of important things! If he could, he would most likely die for you (although possibly by accident).

He always visits you in the morning. Since vampires don't need to sleep he's usually already there before you wake up. And he'll be super annoying while trying to wake you up too. Then after you get ready you both go to school together, either by flight or just walking.

Definitely! As I said before, PDA isn't a big problem for him and he's still just as affectionate in private. I'd have to say he prefers kissing but he's honestly up to anything when it comes to you.

He can do pretty fine on his own at first, but he gets pretty bummed after a while. But like, its not like he can't see you. This man got all the way to FLORIDA I doubt he'll let a little bit of distance get in the way of you two.

Again, he would die for you. He'd even commit a felony for you if he had to! Honestly you might need to teach him that he has a choice and that he doesn't have to do everything for you.
