Our 🖍 Constructive Figure Drawing Workshop  🖍 is here!
Wednesdays starting July 19 - 1PM to 4PM
🖍 To apply to workshops or request for more information kindly email: workshops(at)maxthemutt(dot)com  CONSTRUCTIVE FIGURE DRAWING is designed to give the student the ultimate versatility in drawing freehand figures - meaning the ability to draw the human figure in any pose imaginable and from any and all ‘camera’ angles. Using a drawn mannequin form the course teaches the student to ‘construct’ rather than copy the human figure and do so without the need for a live model or photo reference. This critical difference in approach will grant the student total freedom in their drawing skills and in turn will lead to greater sureness of line and improved confidence in their overall drawing abilities.

Matilda: Making friends and Expanding Talent!
Tumblr media
Keller Peck plays Michael Wormwood and is one of the big kids in the ensemble. We had the chance to hear some thoughts from him on his experience with OPPA!’s cast of Matilda!
“My favorite part of the show so far is making weird friends and having weird experiences, everyone in the cast now calls me Teresa which is really fun. We also played mafia and I was elected for mayor. Performing arts has done so much for me, like giving me a voice and making me feel like I belong. My hope for this show is that we will all become really close friends and make a great show.”
Tumblr media
Lily Swenson also plays a big kid in the ensemble. Even more, she gets to. do the show with her father. Here are some of the things about the show she is enjoying.
“I loved doing the choreography to School Song. It is so much fun! Choosing to do this show has helped me open up to people. Throughout the run of the show, I hope to expand my talent for performing arts.”
We love hearing the experiences of our cast members and community artists. Come see the show cause you’ll regret missing these kids!

Preserving India’s Rich Cultural Heritage through Fine Arts Education
Exploring the Significance

India is a sacred land whose soil has been trodden by the feet of great and pious sages and heroes whose stories are inspirational to mankind. The field of fine arts education is the holiness of this dynamic nation’s cultural legacy, which is a masterpiece made with strings of customs, tradition, and artistic expressions. Fine arts, which include music, dance, visual arts, and theatre, are like watchful guardians of the country’s unique cultural character. Establishing Pride in Identity
India’s rich cultural legacy is a fabric of many traditions, practices, and viewpoints. A crucial element of this tapestry is fine arts education, which preserves and celebrates the variety of cultural expressions that characterize the country. Young people who participate in and learn about diverse art forms obtain fresh views and abilities. Still, they also gain a profound understanding and respect for the cultural mosaic that determines their identity and sense of belonging.
The Musical Roots
Through learning traditional instruments like the sitar or tabla, students embrace the musical notes and the centuries-old ragas and rhythms that have resonated through time. Fine Arts Education is a catalyst for fostering creativity and innovation. Traditional art forms anchor students in cultural roots and serve as springboards for contemporary expressions. Challenges and Imperatives
Amidst the current educational landscape, Fine Arts Education is faced with a distinctive set of hurdles. With schools placing a greater emphasis on STEM subjects, there is a clear and present risk of sidelining the arts. However, it is important to recognize that an education that neglects the development of artistic skills is incomplete, leaving students without a well-rounded education. Elevating Fine Arts Education
Government initiatives, private-sector partnerships, and community involvement are crucial in elevating the status of Fine Arts Education. Establishing dedicated academies, organizing cultural festivals, and integrating arts into mainstream education are steps toward preserving and flourishing India’s cultural heritage.
