Some of y'all be like 'eat the rich' then turn around and be classist when you don't like someone.
Same way y'all hate bodyshaming and fatphobia until you personally need to insult someone.
Same way y'all hate ageism then running to someone's bio to check their age.
Same way y'all hate aphobia but uh-oh someone is a little bit irritating then they need to get laid. Suddenly being a sexless virgin is bad. They've got no bitches and that's bad.
Love to talk about the benefits and beauties of online communities and how important they are until someone annoys you then it's go touch grass
Love to talk about mental health until you got beef now they're a 'narcissist' and 'delusional' and they need to 'get help' and don't get me STARTED on how people love using the word bipolar
Cant believe in saying this but y'all need to learn how to insult people better
cause mfer WE CAN HEAR YOU. You're not serving what you think you're serving
Always want to talk about how someone 'probably looks like' or what they 'should be doing' or whether they're 'unstable' or not.
Quit being ridiculous. Quit being a hypocrite and calling it cunty. Knock it off!! Learn how to read someone correctly or go home!!!

Hey, I don’t post about ROP that much directly on this blog bc I have a ROP blog for that, but I want to say something to the Silm fandom at large as Season 2 is gearing to come out:
It’s totally fine to critique the show, the costuming, the writing, etc etc, but please be fucking normal about the actors themselves. They don’t deserve to have their physical appearance or personalities or w/e attacked just because you don’t like the show.
And also, keep your negativity out of the tag. It’s just basic fandom ettiquette.
I went on a blocking spree two years ago because of this and I’ll do it again if I have to.

Love (sarcasm) when people go, "we should normalize fatphobia LOL 🥺". Fatphobia is the norm, you just don't like that fatphobia has the possibility of people realizing that you aren't as decent or well-rounded of a person as others might have thought before. If it's such a problem that people don't like you for your disgust and hatred of others, then your only options are to either accept that or, better, work on your biases. That isn't the fault of others, and it's certainly not other people's responsibility to coddle your hang-ups with other people's existences.

Am I misunderstanding that post because a lot of fat fetishization Does dehumanize fat people I'm not sure i entirely understand your tag
thats basically what im saying. i absolutely agree that the fat fetish community enables dehumanisim + fatphobia and that is a problem which should be talked abt considering how rampant it is, and i dont like people using "oh those purity obsessed assholes just hate us for Loving Something Different" as a shield. fetishization is a specific term for that kind of dehumanization + objectification where someone is reduced to a pure sexual object instead of being viewed as like, a person, with their value only being filtered through the sexual pleasure other people get out of their bodies, and is often accompanied by massive amnts of fatphobia and a general intense disrespect for fat people ioutside of sexual contexts as well. and its something that is absolutely worth talking about especially from fat women who are most often the targets of this kind of treatment
but ive absolutely seen people take that conversation to mean "fetish = bad" and that is what annoys me. theres a difference between having a type, having a kink, and fetishization. and the way anyone who speaks affectionately or sexually about a fat person or fat bodies is immediately slapped with the label of DIRTY FETISHIT is something that comes from a well-meaning place, but more often then not just says "being attracted to fat people is Not Normal, and therefore impossible to do in a way that isn't fatphobic, therefore fat people should not be seen as sexually desirable". even if the intentions are good, the result ("fat people are not viable sexual interests") just contributes to the existing stigma around fat bodies.

It is very strange to me that there's this idea that open bigotry or otherwise abhorrent behavior becomes okay if the target is in some way acceptable.
Like ... bigotry towards or about people who are themselves awful, and/or powerful, and/or cringe, and/or older/younger, and/or public figures, and/or however you want to define them as acceptable targets, is still bigotry.
Your target may never hear what you say. But the people around you generally will. You're still adding to the bigotry that people witness and experience and which is just ... this miasma in the world.
I'm not saying there's no place for anger, confrontation, condemnation, harsh jokes, whatever—it's not that context never has any bearing on whether actions in general are right or wrong. But relying on bigotry to make your point is wrong without exception.

I love fat girls. There I said it. Tumblr is gonna go absolutlely insane over this and I'm gonna have people in my notes saying I'm fetishizing fat people!! Oh no!! But truly, I think they're gorgeous. So incredibly pretty. From head to toe. If you think by appreciating them that I'm also a fetishist then that's YOUR problem. Not mine.

fat tummy worship fics where the author explicitly reminds you that they have a "little round tummy" and they used to be thin!!! but the let themselves go and they feel sad about it!!! their tummy is soft but it's not too big!! it's still little!!! but like round and soft too 😌 <<<<<<< literally just being normal about fat bodies

"fat girls are attractive because there is more girl" "fat boys are cute because they are soft and cuddly." Yeah sure? But fat people are attractive because their bodies are attractive. Full stop.

if you're a conventionally attractive thin person and a bunch of fat people tell you that you said something fatphobic and the only things you can say in response are "it was just a joke!" or "I thought it might be fatphobic but then I decided on my own that it wasn't" then maybe you should do some serious reflection on why you think you're immune from anti-fat bias and know more about it than people who actually live with it every day
