Someone i follow on instagram had a baby this week and posted her birth story yesterday. That really got me thinking about how i'd want my next delivery to be.
In my first delivery I got epidural within an hour of arriving to the hospital and while i believe it was necessary (i was throwing up from pain with every contraction) i didn't like that epidural completely took away my ability to walk. Yes, it also took away the pain, but i found it really frustrating having to be such a passive participant in my own labour. So my main wish for the next delivery is to use every other method of pain relief before epidural.
In the first round i had also wished to be in water, but can't do that with epidural so now i'd like to try that. But i'm not sure if i'll be allowed bc of my high bmi. (hospital says pre-pregnancy bmi for water birth must be under 32, mine was 35) At least i won't be allowed to push in water, but maybe hang there in the earlier stages?
The hardest part i've been thinking is my support. There is always the risk that husband can't make it for various reasons and i really don't have anybody else available on short notice. So i'm mentally preparing myself for the chance to go through this alone. But even if husband is there with me, i don't really know what kind of support i need from him. I feel like last time was pretty boring for him save for the pushing part. And he doesn't seem too excited to discuss birth plans. If i wanna try to survive longer with non-medical pain reliefs, i'll probably need more mental support but tbh i'm not sure if my husband is the best person for that. Can he handle seeing me in pain? Ugh. I know, I know, i'll talk to him at some point.
For now, i searched for some books in the library. Maybe they'll give me ideas and tips on how to prepare myself and my birthing partner.

Our Baby Girl Dawn’s birth story
Both of my boys arrived at 38 weeks plus a couple days, so when that time came during this third pregnancy, I was even more anxious than I have been this whole pregnancy. The birthing anxiety probably came from knowing so much about birthing a baby (with no epidural!), yet not knowing how it will happen here, in a whole different country. The 38th-week O.B. Check-up came and when she checked…

Writing is pain but I love those small moments when you're writing and a new character decides to spawn in out of nowhere and you suddenly have this AHA moment of "you 🫵🫵🫵are absolutely going to ruin [other character]'s life 🫵🫵you are their new obsession 🫵🫵"

It's crucial to ask questions to learn more about potential surrogates and determine the best fit for your pregnancy and birth plan. It’s always best to work with the top surrogacy agency in the USA, which will do most of the leg work for you.

I think that the Universe works in mysterious ways and if something or someone is meant for you, at the right moment you'll have it, and I think everything happens with a reason, every feeling you go through, every relationship/friendship/job/school moment etc. And we don't realize that until after these things are gone or until they already happened, sometimes you wish to get some things back from your past but what if the Universe has something better to offer for you in the present?
