Fear is what gets her to lift her hand, making the tiniest knock possible. The Italian girl is incredibly anxious for this meeting. She did accidentally speak Italian in class. but she corrected herself instantly. Though, that never matters at home. She realizes she should have been in there already, and takes quick, silent steps into the office. She doesn’t speak, she’ll let him go first.

this was the difficult part of having a relationship that was secret – there were suitors coming forward for both henrik and beth, and on beth’s side of things, one of those suitors was being particularly aggressive in his pursuit of the queen, and the council approved of him. being with him would mean that she wouldn’t have to give up her crown. that the line of succession would stay as it was meant to.

but that wasn’t what beth wanted. not by a long shot. what she wanted, more than anything in this world, was to be with henrik, with the man she loved so dearly and so fiercely that she would go to the ends of the earth to make sure they stayed together. taking his face into her hands, she brings his forehead to meet hers as she meets his gaze.

“Your home is beautiful.” Fiore began as she took in her new surroundings. It certainly was a magnificent place. Architecture always interested her, as she enjoyed studying the intricacies woven into it’s very existence and painting them. Though of course, she wasn’t here to paint the prince’s palace; she was here to paint him. She never would’ve thought that meeting him in that tour would’ve led to this, let alone a strong interest in him.
