Giving: words of affirmation, gift giving

Giorno is a master with words. He knows what, when and in which way should he tell you to make your day brighter. With a soft smile and reassuring glance, he tells you a compliment or two when you need it the most, and it makes you feel like the most special person on the whole freakin’ planet. Very often you don't hear these sentences directly from him – Giorno usually sends you a butterfly with a message spreaded on its wings, or a puppy that has your favorite snack tied to its collar. He is not afraid to use his stand to make the one he loves feel even more adored.

Receiving: physical touch, words of affirmation

Gio often drifts away with his thoughts, his mind busy with developing new plans and ideas. It may be tiring for his smart brain, and nothing helps him in these moments like your soft touch, grounding him to reality again. Your fingers brushing his cheek and catching his jaw, sweet words leaving your mouth are always enough. Whenever you see him struggling with anything, catch his hand in yours and watch the sparkles dance in his precious eyes.

He has to maintain physical contact with you almost all of the time. Brushing your hair every morning, tracing small circles with his thumb on your skin in public places, and hugging and spinning you after a long time apart. That’s how Mista shows he’s in love with you.

Okay, I think we can all agree that this boy way too often gets his cute ass into trouble. Always somehow surviving, he comes to you vulnerable with scratches, cuts and all sorts of wounds. He wants to make it up for his clumsiness by giving you all sorts of trinkets! He’s like a magpie. Anything that looks like something you may like (or is sparkly) he gets for you because I can’t say that he buys everything…

Trish

She’s not the best at showing it, but Trish cares for you. She surely does. That is why she suggests that you should take her more on dates! Like, c’mon, how could you not think that Trish wants to spend more time with you you to take her on yet another date this weekend? That she deserves it? Pfft! You can still make it up to her by watching a movie marathon with her. And if you notice her hints, she may even praise you!

Okay, now, I sure hope you know what to do with her. Give her gifts that she deserves! Trish feels the most loved when she’s appreciated. She may give the vibes of a gold digger, but it’s totally not that. Trish is reassured of your feelings when you put an effort when choosing a gift she may like, when she gets something she’s told you once and you still remembered! Character you wished had more screentime?

I think my least favorite major villain is Diavolo. He's a good character in theory, but he just kinda falls flat to me. He's another example of part 5's missed potential to me, but I haven't really done any character analysis on why, unlike I have with Giorno.

I'm not really huge into the type of music that Araki references in his works (I mostly listen to soundtracks from stuff I like), but I do really vibe with Killer Queen (the song and the Stand)

Favorite Jobro is probably Ermes. Just like Foo Fighters is the upgraded version of Kakyoin, Ermes is the upgraded version of Polnareff to me. Ermes's character takes the Princess Bride-inspired backstory of Polnareff and adds some (much-needed) depth to it, although it lost a bit of its impact because her past was only given to the reader right before the fight where it was resolved.

My least favorite jobro is Kakyoin, which is surprising to me now that I think about it. Just like Josuke, huge crush on him in the past, and just like Foo Fighters, I can relate to his feeling of being othered. And this isn't to say I don't like his character, I just so happen to like how the other jobros were handled. All this to say I will still fight people who say his character is bad.

Favorite minor villain has to be Steely Dan, because he's the epitome of part 3 villain writing. He's a dick for the sake of it, he's fairly attractive, he's working for Dio for vain reasons, the way his Stand was defeated was just bullshit (affectionate) enough to teeter on that suspension of disbelief, and he rightfully got the everloving shit beaten out of him by Jotaro. Truly, what more could you ask for from a part 3 villain.

I honestly think the entirety of Jojo would be better if Enyaba had more screen time, or at least if her Stand fight was given more importance. I'm sure Araki didn't know it at the time, but she becomes an insanely important character for the lore of Jojo as a whole. She's the one who tells Diavolo about the importance of the Stand arrows, and also gives those arrows to many different important people. And the way she was defeated was... because Star Platinum sucked in her Stand. When I say bullshit here I mean it in a half-affectionate half-derogatory way. And that's not even what killed her, which was Steely Dan! Jotaro should've been allowed to finish her off once and for all, considering her importance later.

Jojos ranked from most to least favorite?

1. Jonathan. I don’t care that people think he’s boring. His manga portrayal is extremely charming, realistic in a boyish way and I love his relationships with everyone around him. Also the chocolate scene made me laugh. Baby 🥺

2. Jolyne. Despite how they may appear on the surface, Jolyne is the closest Joestar to match Jonathan’s energy and I 100% believe that was intentional. She’s both the Madonna and the Whore and I love her immensely. She’s my mother and my sister and my girlfriend. Don’t ask.

3. Giorno. I also like him because of his ties to Jonathan and how - unlike what many seem to believe - his inner sense of retributive Justice came from that side of the family and not DIO’s. I love how he’s obviously 15 years old despite how anime fans love to joke about how he’s too old and sexy to be a minor. Sorry he had an artistic nip slip but that was High Art and not a sign that he’s older than he looks. He looks his age, so shut up.

4. Jotaro. I like how he’s a total try hard. The fact that he wants to look cool and is always thinking about cool finishing phrases for after he defeats his opponents is an adorable character trait. He gets a lower rank because of his raging gay induced misogyny, but his innate goodness tells me that’d be easily fixed if anyone gave themselves the trouble.

5. Josuke. I know he’s number 5, but I have nothing against him! Every time he’s on screen it’s a delight. I just love other characters more so he gets sidelined? But part 4 itself is in my top 3, so he gets to ride high on that ranking.

6. Johnny. Sure, his character development was well written but that doesn’t mean I have to like the guy. So I don’t. I think I seriously hate his personality. (I like Diego and it hurts me when Johnny is mean at him for no reason. He’s literally just jealous lol)

7. Joseph. Racist. Friends with Nazis. A serial cheater. Misogynist but not in a gay way. Annoying. People think he’s funny and all his jokes are “dressing like a woman”, “sex with my mom”, “gay joke”, “no you”. I don’t get the hype.

I am back from work!

The way you answer requests is unique and so entertaining, each answer seems to have real thought put into it. Your highness is so regal it makes me giddy to put in asks to be answered by you because you really put the effort into answering each with such precision, not skipping over details, and it’s much appreciated.

Your writing seems biblical because it details the shortcomings of man is such a poetic way. In such a human way. But also each is displayed in representation of the greater whole of that person. Bruno doesn’t just do something bad and that’s that, he deliberates, he might scold himself. And especially he becomes the judge, the jury, and the executioner of himself and many others actions.

And yes I do suffer from favoritism :,) I really can’t help it. I feel like mental health wise it would be better to be able to chill with Mista. He’s funny, and witty, and protective! And we can watch movies and go to the beach and have good times! But my heart CRAVES bruno. He’s sat like an unmoving stone in my heart for years. I try to leave him and I just. can’t. I relate to him on a lot of levels with growing up, but it seems trauma went the same and opposite with how we ended up haha. I love how mature Bruno is, and how he cares for people. And I love his haircut SO much haha. I love Bruno so so much but I stress with him that his ability for romance is. lacking. I like Mista’s teasing and that he’s very open, he’s like ‘boyfriend’. While Bruno, bruno is ‘husband’.

Humans are so adorable. Their nature fascinates me. I generally like to treat those I write for as if they're alive and the love of someone's life, I think I've said that before, though. Psychology is fascinating in general, you're telling me that there's millions and billions and trillions of people out there and absolutely none of us are entirely identical in nature? So cute. So interesting.

This is a little mentally ill of me but my crushes on fictional characters are a bit serious. I'm so genuinely charmed by them that I take out of character fiction of them as offensive. I'd like to think that I'm doing those I write for justice, they're not just a piece of meat I dangle in front of my readers, they're a real person with habits, oddities, etc. Real humans aren't flat. They have thoughts that don't always match their feelings. Feelings that don't match their actions. Actions that don't match their wants and needs. Sometimes characters are less complex, and writing them differently ruins their character. Writing Bruno as some sort of mastermind is just. Wrong. He's of average intelligence and had good intentions, he values being honest. Not everyone has a thousand layers, but everyone is a human being with a heart and a brain and feelings.

To err is human, yanderes are not without faults. Bruno has many shortcomings, because he's just a man. A man in love, but still just a man. There's some who I'd argue are too ethereal for such a claim; Giorno, Kars, DIO, etc; but they're human too. (Not Kars, but shh)

There's always Something that makes them not as perfect as they present themselves, and that's what makes them interesting. Your efforts to escape were futile even though you could've gotten out. I have an ask related to this in my inbox right now so I'll elaborate on this later, but it's a part of my tangent, so bear with me.

I'm not trying to balance out overpowered characters by giving them more faults, I'm just trying to be a bit realistic about it, as that's a thousand times more frightening. Someone like Bruno really exists. And that's scary!

I've never been in love with someone similar to myself, not even with fictional crushes. When I see someone similar to myself I go "Ah." and shift my focus elsewhere. Prissy types just aren't attractive to me, I'd like someone I fall in love with to balance out what I have. My crushes are fairly consistent in that. When I see someone with the same type of trauma I just suck my teeth. Bruno's trauma is one I don't wish on anyone- adultification is a killer.

But I digress.

You probably have long since forgotten that Guido is a mafioso, and horribly, horribly obsessive. He's a bit brutish, but he doesn't like to play leader, so it's easy to think of him as not as bad as the rest of them. But he is! Guido has beaten people within an inch of their life, and taken more than a few. He may be silly, and more casual than the rest of them, but he doesn't play about what's significant to him.

Guido is more 'boyfriend' than husband because he doesn't skip any steps. He loves the details, the romantics of it all. Bruno jumps to the loving family dynamic the second he sees you. He isn't delusional (in this specific topic), he knows you don't have a ring yet, but fiance is close to spouse, isn't it?

He just doesn't like being as serious as Bruno is. He's acting his age. It breaks his heart when you force him to bring you back home, or when you hurt yourself and he's gotta play doctor. (He means ask Giorno to play doctor, he's squeamish when it comes to you in pain) Of course he doesn't like to discipline you or reign you back in. You're gonna think he's a dick and dump him!

My initial impression of Formaggio and the majority of La Squadra was... non-existent. I paid attention to Giorno, Bucciarati's group, and subsequently Narancia during this fight. But if I had to come up with something for Formaggio, the only thing that stood out to me was Little Feet. After part 3 and 4, finally, someone had to have the ability to shrink. It's such a simple and convenient ability to have, both on the battlefield and on the daily.

Lock yourself out of your house? Shrink and crawl under the door. Have a lot to carry or something incredibly heavy to carry up a flight of stairs, like a car or a 5 ft x 6 ft paining (don't ask)? Shrink it down to size and put it in your pocket. Or maybe carry a couple of grenades and automatic rifles and wear them like a braclet until you're ready to use them... No one's gonna know. They're gonna know. No one's going to know./ref

The more I made La Squadra a part of my personality, the more I realized, "Fuck yeah, I would appreciate a homie like Formaggio." He may look like an annoying punk (like 99% of my classmates) but he's adaptable and clever. During his first conversation with Narancia, it sounded like Formaggio was just rambling and making jokes, but every sentence was a transition to get information or a reaction from Narancia.

Vol. 2 VA, chp 31:

(To Narancia) "Word is, Polpo died last night. Then, all of a sudden, Bucciarati, Fugo, Abbacchio, and Mista all went into hiding They're not anywhere. I finally found you, though, Narancia. Do you know where they are and why they disappeared?"

"Did you hear about Polpo's body? . . . They can't figure figure out how to cram his fat ass into the furnace. Ha ha ha! They're going to have to cut him into tiny pieces to get him in!"

"Why didn't your crew show up at the capo's funeral?! Answer me, Narancia! If I can't tail you then I'll make you tell me everything!

Baby boy, if you'd stayed quiet and patient, you might have been able to follow Narancia to the vineyard without interruption.

He also has an unnecessary amount of knowledge on mosquitoes and arachnids.

Vol 3 VA, chp 34

"Mosquitoes can sense the carbon dioxide animals exhale. . . That's what's happening here. Aerosmith is seeking out my carbon dioxide!"

The only thing I needed to know was that mosquitoes are little menaces that help transfer diseases and need to be smacked out of existence. I didn't want to know this extra CO² info, but thanks, I guess./s Did I want to read about spiders' digestive fluids killing their prey from the inside out on a random Tuesday night? No, not at all. But here we are. u.u

When the brainrot got worse, the anime and manga yielded superficial results. So, I'm glad the JoJo World Event gave us a bit more. In a Twitter translation of the La Squadra info, Formaggio was described as an insightful opportunist and aware of his comrades' deficits (condensed from image below). Good, because I'm going to need my emotional support hitman now. 🫴/lh

Not gonna lie, Formaggio gave me "annoying jock" vibes initially when I took everything that I've mentioned into consideration. But seeing that he does pay more attention to others than they believe is somewhat... hmmm, comforting. In all earnesty, I would trust Formaggio to be a good judge of character or a human lie detector.

This part's not important, but I don't like the majority of his design. In the manga, he's given orange hair, and while I understand his name means "cheese," the grey in the anime helps bring contrast from the rest of his outfit that focuses on a red top and brown pants.

Like his Stand, he's very unassuming, but there's this slow burn effect that endeared this character to me. Formaggio still isn't my favorite among La Squadra, but I think about him a lot sometimes. u.u

It’s ok, I’ve done the same!

Giorno: it changes depending on what bug or creature he is currently interested in. Is super interested in Arbok and seviper right now, he likes Xerneas a lot too. Really likes deerling and sawsbuck as well!

Bruno: is fond of bannette because of the zipper. He likes any Pokémon that he can formulate in his mind to look like a zipper, so he likes tynamo. He likes zebstrika because he can pretend that it’s named “zipstrika”

Abbacchio: likes shroomish because it always looks mad. And he likes ditto because it reminds him of moody a tiny bit. If he had a Pokémon team he would probably have a growlithe/arcanine on it.

Mista: Dreepy and krokorok, he also likes meowth because of the anime.

Narancia: charizard is his favorite. Likes anything that can breathe fire and look epic doing it.

Fugo: koffing is his favorite, but don’t tell anyone. He relates to psyduck. He also likes milcery.

Trish: jigglypuff and skitty, also a big Audino fan. Has a shiny buneary.

•doesn't have anything to say about your merchandise. might judge you for having so much but that's it. might even have his own merch

•won't mind that you jojo pose but will bitch about it

•he will judge you but still leave little jojos related things around where you will find them instead of giving them to you like a normal person

￫ all of you, but he really likes your hands. not in a creepy way, he just thinks they’re pretty.

￫ isn’t one for showing affection in public, but he loves holding your hand, especially if he’s anxious about something. having your hand in his soothes him. he’d lightly squeeze it sometimes, either to get your attention or just to make sure you’re there with him.

￫ kissing the palm and the back of your hands has to be his favorite thing to do. doesn’t matter where, whether your greeting one another, about to fall asleep, or just sitting down and enjoying one another’s company, he’d always gently grab your hand and bring it up to his lips.

￫ when the two of you are laying in bed on the cusp of sleep, he’d trace the lines on your palm or let you run your fingers through his hair. just the feeling of your hands touching him in some way is more than enough.

GIORNO

￫ your cheeks. thinks they’re really cute.

￫ he loves it when you smile and the apple of your cheeks are most prominent, the sight makes him smile. at times like these, he’d usually sneak a quick peck on your cheek because he can’t help himself, though in public that might not happen as often, just soft smiles as he gazed at you with nothing but love.

￫ when you’re hugging each other or cuddling, you’d typically find him nuzzling into your cheek or leaving a few kissing there. he also likes to hood your face in his hands when you kiss so he can rub the skin of your cheek with his thumbs.

￫ he won’t pull your cheek or stretch them out but he will poke them from time to time, usually when in private. and he loves it when you lay on his chest with one of your cheeks pressed against him, he just finds your face looking a little squished really cute.

JOSEPH

￫ your nose. he LOVES your nose.

￫ he’s annoying but he’s so cute. he’d constantly boop your nose or pull “i got your nose” tricks on you while you sit there unamused. you could be just doing something mundane, driving somewhere, or anything really and he’s already poking your nose.

￫ on other occasions, he’s giving you little eskimo kisses and normal kisses on your nose and telling you how cute he thinks your nose is. if you happen to be insecure about your nose, he’s the one insulted. he’d be listing off all the things that make your nose perfect—which is everything—and how if anyone ever tried to prove him wrong, he’d kick them in their shit.

￫ he tries to make you smile or laugh best he can so if your ticklish, he’s definitely using that to his advantage. he just like the way your nose crinkles when you smile and laugh. and when your both about to go to bed or you’re already fast asleep, he gives you a kiss on the nose as a good night.

JOSUKE

￫ your shoulders and neck.

￫ it's kind of weird but not that weird but he loves to rest his head on your shoulder when he hugs you and likes to nuzzle into your warm neck and feel the faint beating of your pulse point. neck kisses are an always, especially if you’ve been away for some time then expect more neck kisses than usual.

￫ when the two of you cuddle or spoon, his head always finds its way on your shoulder or in the crook of your neck with his arms wrapped around your stomach. he tends to sleep heavy so you might as well stay in bed for the day.

￫ it’s not just in private either, he tends to involuntarily rest his chin on your shoulders in public whether he’s talking to you or someone else, and he usually stays there for quite a while. you could be shopping for clothes and asking if a shirt looked cute right before his chin softly meets your shoulder. he’d kiss the skin of your neck or shoulder before he moves away too.

JOTARO

￫ your eyes, simply because they tell him how you’re feeling at the moment and they look cute when you’re looking up at him.

￫ before actually kissing you, he’d look into your eyes—one: to check if you’re alright and two: just to admire them—before he gives you a soft kiss. he also leaves kisses in the space between your eyes right before you head off to sleep and just before he leaves for work or at random.

￫ he likes cuddling or spooning with you facing him so he can make sure you’re actually sleep and if you’re not he’d try to figure something out to fix that. he also uses contact as a form of confirmation, especially if you don’t feel comfortable verbally expressing that. you could be at dinner or somewhere else and he’d often look at you to make sure you’re comfortable.

￫ he doesn’t tell you he likes your eyes, like at all. even if you’re insecure about them he won’t vividly express his liking towards them but to whoever made you think of them that way, they suddenly have a fist with their name on it. he isn’t one for pet names or complements so don’t expect much, but you might hear a whispered “pretty” or “gorgeous” occasionally.

KAKYOIN

￫ your stomach.

￫ he thinks it’s cute. you’d often find him laying his head on it when you’re watching something together or when you’re cuddling and you might even catch him sleeping like that—his arms wrapped around your waist while he’s resting the side of his face on your stomach, fluffy hair tickling the skin.

￫ it’s embarrassing sometimes, like when you start to get hungry and your stomach starts growling. he’d look up at you with raised brows before get up and walking off to find his phone, so he can get you something to eat even if you insist you’re not hungry.

￫ when it comes to public affection, he could care less but if you’re uncomfortable with it then he’ll respect your boundaries. so usually when you’re out somewhere, he’d either have both arms wrapped around your stomach or just an arm wrapped around your stomach, in private too especially when you’re doing the most mundane things. if your stomach’s chubby, it’s even cuter to him.

MISTA

￫ your thighs. not really in a sexual way, he just likes how soft they are.

￫ he pokes them sometime when he’s thinking of things to do for the day. not harshly, if anything you barely feel it most of the time. he also love giving you piggyback rides or just having you on his shoulders so he can hold on to your thighs and rub a thumb over them.

￫ he also loves picking you up so that he can feel your thighs wrap around his waist. he kisses like this at times and loves sitting with you on top of his legs face him. he tends to squeeze your thighs absentmindedly, especially when he’s driving with you in the car or when your at dinner and you’re sitting close to one another.

￫ he likes to rest his head between your thigh and he goes to sleep between them sometimes. gives you thigh kisses before looking up at you with a soft smile. loves if you card your hands through his hair while he’s between your thighs.

POLNAREFF

￫ your lips. he loves your lips so much.

￫ he kisses you everywhere but his favorite place to kiss you are your lips. he tries to get you to laugh or smile right before giving you kisses so he can feel you smile into the kiss. he’s not super giddy, he just loves your smile but he can be.

￫ he loves how expressive your lips are. he isn’t to crazy about when you’re mad or sad because he starts to feel bad, but when you’re pouting or playfully frowning, he thinks it’s the cutest thing. you’d often find him giving you quick pecks if he catches you frowning. you can’t be sad or mad for too long around him.

￫ when you two are cuddling, you have to be facing him. if he doesn’t have easy access to your lips, then you’re not doing it. especially when you’re about to go to bed, you’re facing him. he want to be able to kiss you as much as he wants even after you fall asleep. he’s like “aww, you look so cute. imma kiss you”. he knows when enough is enough, so if you don’t want any kisses at the moment he’s willing to wait.

Lemme put it this way; if it wasn't 1890 and she knew diddly-squat about the LGBT other than "SIN!" She would be Trans-masc. Jonathan is the only one nice to her too.

Her stand is called Pink Thunder and it yells really loud. Her dad works out of country (Italy, hint hint nudge nudge). Weird power is that sometimes she'll just sit down to draw cause she's an artist and she'll draw past events (Bonus: Jotaro saw her just randomly doodling Kakyoin right after he died and that was... and experience.)

Part 5: Red-eyed hacker

Giorno x OC

OC: Georgia Silverthorne

Chaotic Gremlin + Crackhead energy 3: Syrup Village Arc. U totally thought she wasn't a Goldsboro, didn't you? Yes, but actually no. Her mom is Usagi's. She's just raised mostly by her mom who's incredibly abusive and she doesn't know who her dad is. Also it's "Red-eyed" bc everyone else so far and continuing on has bright ass Green eyes and hers are red. Normal eye color is boring. Her stand is called Techno Glitch and it's like normal stand, but it has to be programed by hand from a floating computer cause it sounded cool in my head so I said "yeah that." Weird power is that she sorta sleepwalks into the other 2 living Goldsboro's heads, like Usagi'll be dreaming and the 2 knew each other for a long time cause they have the same mom and stuff and Georgia will go "Ayo, what u dreaming about?" And Usagi will jump like 6 feet in the air.

If you can't tell by the length of that wall of text, she's my favorite

Also I'm skipping part 6 cause Jolyne is literally Kasumi's daughter, we don't need to sweet home Alabama this stuff

Part 7: Oh, to be young again

Johnny Joestar x OC

OC: Lucie "Lucky Lu" Goldsboro

Has that "popular yet still a good person" energy rarely found in my generation, or at least just in my school. Her stand is called Boomerang, and I'll let you figure out what it is. Only thing is that it's a person holding them, not an actual boomerang. Also 110% horse girl energy, but not in a cringy way Her weird power is that she has an insane amount of luck, hence her nickname.

Part 8: Rock n roll all night

Gappy x OC

OC: Rin Kaneko

Crackhead energy 4: Tsuzumi Mansion Arc, mixed with small but noticeable amounts of Undertaker from Black Butler and Hu Tao from Genshin. She just woke up next to Gappy, no memory of the last 2 months, and went "Ima just follow around this dude and help him remember his shit first." Her stand is called Ragged Glory and it's a guitar, but it doesn't just play music if you pull the strings, nonono, it also generates a random effect from a defined list because I only have so many sides on a die, and it's great. Her weird power is that she is well aware of the TimeLine reset in the end of part 6 (The one that left me crying cause all my Husbandos are gone now) and the memories and experiences of our past characters live in her and just surface at random.

I might make one for JoJo lands, depends on how I feel about it, dunno

Um…! I don't have a favorite JoJo character per se, sorry! ^^'

I can tell you, though, my favorite JoJo is Giorno!

And my favorite part has to be Vento Aureo, actually. It's been my favorite for a while, and it's still near and dear to my heart after all this time. Not to say I don't like the other parts; Stardust Crusaders is a close second! I think the characters of the parts have something to do with it (as in, how much shipping fuel it gives me because I'm LAME—).

I'm sitting here on my ass waiting for someone to ask me some weirdly specific questions about ships because, boy-oh-boy, I have some opinions you wouldn't know even existed.

Whumptober Day 15 - "Breaking the Habit" (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

More Hearts of Gold for today's @whumptober fic! This is my Bucciarati/OC series. We're going back in time in the series: this one is set very soon after Hearts of Gold, when Bruno and Maria are still newlyweds and Maria hasn't yet figured out that Bruno is very bad at taking care of himself.

Bucciarati cringed as he threw the bloody cloths into the trash can of the hotel bathroom before re-applying zippers to his injuries. That would do for now until Giorno returned in a few days and if needed, he would ask him to fix them up. For now Bruno really just wanted to get back home to his wife.

He never used to think anything about being away on missions—they were tiring but part of the job. However, since marrying Maria almost two months ago now, he was less and less eager to leave for extended periods. Which is why he had promised her a night out as soon as he got back, for both of them.

Which…he needed to be leaving soon if they were going to make the reservation he'd had Maria book at their favorite restaurant that night.

He swiftly dressed, cringing slightly at the pull of fabric over the tender skin around the zippers in his side and thigh, then exited the bathroom to find Abbacchio already packed up and ready.

"Ready?" Bruno asked him.

Abbacchio glanced over, giving him a once over. "You good?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I be?"

"Because you didn't let me look at those injuries you got in the fight last night," Abbacchio said.

"There was no need to, they weren't serious," Bruno assured him, forcing himself to not limp as he went to grab his bag. Painful, maybe, but pain would hardly kill him. "Come on, I'm not going to miss taking my lovely wife out to dinner tonight."

"Don't worry, I was tasked with bringing you back specifically on time," Abbacchio said with a fond smile.

Bruno huffed a laugh. Honestly, the constant conspiring that went on between Leone and Maria behind his back was ridiculous. They were a force to be reckoned with.

"Then we'd best get going."

It was a couple hours' drive back to Napoli from the location of their mission and Bruno took that time to rest, trying to ignore how the seatbelt rubbed against the wound in his side. There'd been more opponents at the raid last night than he had suspected, and one man had come at him with a knife, slashing him a couple times before Bruno had taken him down with Sticky Fingers. He hadn't had time to deal with the injuries at the time, simply using his tried and true method of applying zippers to close them up as they cleaned up the rest of the operation.

He put a pair of sunglasses on and tilted his head back, trying to sleep. Clean-up had taken them until early afternoon, so neither of them had slept for over 24 hours now—going on 36. Bruno was feeling it more than he wanted to admit. He hoped he wouldn't look absolutely awful by the time he got to dinner.

He dozed fitfully, body warm and uncomfortable under the afternoon sun streaming into the car.

As they finally got back to Napoli, Bruno gave up trying to sleep, rubbing his head as he checked the time.

"It's gonna be a little tight," Abbacchio apologized.

"I still have to change too," Bruno said, and pulled out his phone. "I'll just call Maria and tell her to head over to the restaurant to meet the reservation time."

He blinked back the exhaustion, rubbing at his slightly swollen eyes as he dialed Maria's number.

"Hello?" her voice came over the line.

"Hello, my love. I might be a little late, so why don't you go on ahead and I'll meet you at the restaurant when I get back?"

"Oh, that's fine, but, Bruno, if you're too tired tonight, we can go some other time."

"No," he insisted. "A night out with you is exactly what I need right now."

"Well, I'll see you there then," she replied, a smile in her voice.

"See you soon, mi cara."

He tucked his phone back into his pocket and glanced at his watch again.

"Are you sure you're up for this? You look exhausted," Abbacchio asked.

"I am," Bruno admitted. "But a relaxing night out is a perfect remedy."

Abbacchio shrugged. "You do have a point. It's probably going to be chaos at home, especially with Giorno and Fugo also out of town."

Bruno chuckled. "That's your problem tonight, amico."

"Thanks," Abbacchio muttered.

Bruno leaned back in his seat, suppressing a sigh.

His body felt like a lead weight when they finally got back to the mansion and he dragged himself out of the car.

After the initial greetings from Trish, Narancia and Mista, he hurried to change into a clean suit before heading out.

He'd thankfully been able to shower at the hotel so it was mostly a matter of fixing his hair and changing into his black date-night suit.

His muscles protested even the small movement of taking his shirt off, an uncomfortable tug on the zippered wound in his side. Bruno prodded the area lightly, gritting his teeth against the pain. The skin around it felt slightly warm and looked red and irritated.

He didn't have time to worry about it, though, and took some pills as he buttoned his shirt up, pulled on his trousers and coat and headed out the door.

"Have a good time, Bucciarati!" Trish called to him.

He smiled and thanked her as he grabbed his keys and headed out.

Maria started with a glass of wine as she waited for Bruno, eager to see him again. He'd only been gone with Leone for four days, but she had missed him, especially with the addition of him going into a dangerous situation. She knew she would have to get used to it, but it still kept her up at night, alone in their big bed.

But soon enough, she spotted her husband coming toward her table with a soft smile on his face.

"There you are!" Maria called, standing up to allow him to pull her into his arms, with a chaste kiss to her lips.

"I'm sorry I'm a little late, but I didn't want to come in work clothes," he grimaced.

Maria got a good look at him finally, holding him at arm's length. There were definite dark circles under his eyes, but he also just looked a little wan and pale in general.

She reached up to touch his warm cheek with concern. "Bruno, are you sure you're all right? You look a little…well."

He shifted so he could kiss her hand with a smile. "I am a bit tired, but I'm happy to be back. A nice relaxing dinner will be much appreciated."

Maria smiled, though there was still a furrow between her brows as she led Bruno back to the table and they sat. The waiter came over, offering more wine and taking their orders.

All the while, Maria was watching her husband, trying not to show too much concern outwardly, but he did really look a little rough, slumping in his chair, his brow pinched slightly. She would make sure to put him to bed early once they got back.

Once they had finished dinner, Bruno suggested a walk in the park nearby. "There's a gelato stand as well—we can get dessert."

"Are you sure you don't want to go home?" Maria asked, trying not to sound worried. "I know you're tired."

He waved her concern away. "I'd rather get some fresh air," he told her with a smile, reaching for her hand. "Come on—tell me what went on while I was away."

Maria took his hand and talked as they walked toward the park. Bruno felt rather warm beside her, but she had been slightly chilly in the restaurant and didn't think much of it.

When a jogger nearly ran into her, Maria was forced to bump into Bruno to avoid being hit, and was surprised when he staggered slightly, a small gasp escaping his throat.

"That was rather rude," she muttered before looking up at her husband, seeing his face had gone pale and there was sweat beading on his brow. "Bruno? Are you okay?"

"I—yes," he replied, forcing a tight smile. "I just—maybe I am a little more tired than I thought."

She took both his hands in hers firmly. "How about you sit here and I'll go pick up a pint of gelato that we can take home and eat in bed?" she suggested with a fond smile.

Bruno chuckled and bent to kiss her. "Well, I can't really argue with that."

"Oh, Bucciarati!"

An older woman who ran a flower stand called to him and he and Maria looked over.

"Ah, Signora Galini!" Bruno greeted with a tired smile, squeezing Maria's hand before letting it go. "Let me go see if she needs anything. Pick out whatever flavor you'd like—you know I like all of them."

Maria smiled and cast a fond glance back as the old woman asked Bruno to help her load her stand into the small trailer attached to her vespa.

She hurried to go get the gelato, picking out a rich chocolate mocha flavor, before returning to see Bruno finishing up and waving to the old woman as she drove away.

His face as he turned around though was crumpled in pain, one hand going up to press to his side. Maria hesitated, watching as Bruno reached for the back of the bench, going to lean on it.

His hand missed and he stumbled, legs seeming to give out under him.

"Bruno?!" Maria cried and pushed herself into a run, collapsing beside him, not caring about the grass stains on her dress. His head lolled and she took his face between her hands forcing his chin up to look at her.

"Just…need a second," he murmured.

Maria looked down where he was still pressing a hand to his side. She opened his coat and pulled it aside.

From the light of a streetlamp she could see a patch of red against his white shirt.

"You're hurt!" she gasped. "Bruno, why didn't you tell me you'd been injured!"

"It really wasn't that bad," he sighed tiredly. "I'm sorry to alarm you, lifting the stand pulled at the injury and I think that made me a little woozy."

Maria pressed her hand to his cheek again. "But you're fevered! The wound could be infected."

She was already pulling the phone from her purse and dialing as she wrapped her arm around her husband, bringing his head to rest on her shoulder.

"Leone," she said shakily as the phone was answered wearily. "Could you please come pick us up from the park?"

"I can get back to the car," Bruno protested before Maria shushed him.

"What's wrong?" Leone asked.

"Bruno's hurt," she said sternly. "Please—the park by the restaurant."

There was a quick confirmation and the call cut out. Maria tucked the phone away and pulled one of Bruno's arms around her shoulders. "Come on, you can sit on the bench which we wait."

He cringed as he forced himself up, right leg shaky as he sank down onto the bench. She practically forced him to lay down with his head in her lap but once he was there he sagged tiredly, eyes closed as she ran her fingers soothingly across his brow, stroking his hair.

"Is that the only injury?" she asked suspiciously.

"That and my leg," Bruno said tiredly.

"Bruno!" Maria scolded, a lump forming in her throat. He reached up to take her free hand.

"I'm sorry, mi amore," he told her sincerely. "I should have said something."

"Yes, you should have," she replied shakily, hurt and fear clashing inside of her.

Headlights illuminated the area and a car came to a quick stop on the side of the road.

Leone got out and hurried over to the bench.

"Maria," he called, stopping as he saw Bruno laying in her lap. He huffed a sigh, reaching down to help Maria heave her husband up. "Bruno, I asked you if you were hurt."

"Yes, yes," Bruno muttered, cringing as they pulled him up between them.

Leone swore and Maria pressed her lips together. They got Bruno into the backseat and then headed back to the house.

"I think he might have an infection since he's running a fever," Maria said worriedly.

Leone glanced back at the injured man. "Did you just zipper yourself shut again?"

"I didn't really have that much of a choice, Leone, we were in the middle of a fight."

"Yes, and we had plenty of time to take care of them properly this morning when we got back from the job," Leone replied in exasperation, shaking his head.

Bruno was silent, slumped against the seat as they drove.

Once they got back to the house, Maria and Leone helped Bruno upstairs to their room and left him sitting on the bench in the bathroom.

"Help me find the medical supplies," Maria said to Leone as they left the room.

Once they were downstairs, Maria grabbed Leone's arm and glowered at him. "I can't believe you didn't try to discourage him from going out tonight if you knew he was injured! You should have let me know, Leone!"

"You're right, I should have told you," he admitted. "But I honestly didn't know how bad it was—the only time he ever lets me look at injuries if he's still standing is when I actually see them happen. I know that's not an excuse but—you're not alone in your frustrations."

Maria's eyes welled and Leone's face softened again, taking hold of her hand and squeezing it. "You know he's just like this. I'm hoping that you might change that in him."

"Well, apparently not," Maria sniffled, reaching up to wipe her eyes.

Leone pulled her into a hug, kissing the top of her head. "I think he'll start to see reason once he realizes how upset you are. But let's go take care of the idiot, okay? I think we still have some antibiotics around here somewhere."

They gathered what they would need and returned to Bruno who was struggling to undress, taking his trousers off with one hand while he steadied himself with the other.

"Here," Maria said quickly and went to help him, revealing another reddened injury on his thigh. She sat him back down and eased his shirt off. The sight of his old scars sent a different emotion through her than usual. Maybe he did have a point in these injuries being relatively minor when he had suffered such grievous ones in the past.

"Undo the zippers," Leone said.

Bruno sighed and waved his hand briefly. Maria watched as the wounds parted slightly and began to bleed sluggishly again.

"They do look infected," Leone said darkly. "We'll have to flush them out."

Maria nodded stoically, lips pressed together, as they helped Bruno to sit in the tub. He lay back wearily, wincing and making small sounds of pain every once in a while as they washed the wounds out with a saline solution.

"Is that all?" Maria asked as they finished.

Leone probed the wound in Bruno's side, maybe a little more harshly than he would have normally, causing the other man to tense. "There doesn't seem to be any puss yet, so, it should be fine with an antibacterial cream and the antibiotics."

Maria nodded, dabbing the wounds dry with a swatch of gauze.

Bruno was silent as they bandaged him up and helped him to bed. Maria brought him a glass of water and the pills.

"Please take them," she coaxed.

Bruno did as he was asked. Maria took the glass and sank down next to him tiredly as Leone cleaned up the medical supplies.

"Maria," Bruno finally said, reaching for her hand. "I'm truly sorry for scaring you."

"It's not about scaring me, Bruno!" she snapped, feeling the lump form in her throat again. "Don't you get it? I know your job is dangerous, I knew that from the beginning—it's not that I don't expect you to get hurt on occasion. I know it's just an inevitability of our lives." She sighed, shoving her hair back. "What I'm mad about is that you think you need to hide your pain, and you don't. Don't you think I would have been just as happy cuddling and watching a movie with you tonight while you recovered instead of forcing yourself to go out while you were obviously not well?"

Bruno looked chastised, eyes falling to his hands as his lashes brushed fever-flushed cheeks. "You're right. I know it's something I need to work on. You understand, when I started down this path in this life, I had no one. I had to be strong constantly, otherwise I would risk letting myself break under the pressure. It made me admittedly rather negligent toward my own care so that, even when I had people I could count on, I kept some very bad habits." He looked up at her again, reaching up to brush his fingers across her cheek. "But I'm not alone anymore, and I should remember that more often."

"Yes," Maria pleaded, placing her hand over his and holding it to her cheek. "Please remember that you have a wife at home, and a family who loves you."

Leone finished up in the bathroom and speared him with a look as he carried the first aid kit out. "Listen to her, Bruno. For the love of god, change your ways for her if not for the rest of us."

Bruno sighed tiredly as Maria tucked him into bed. "I'm going to clean up." She offered a tentative smile. "If you want, the gelato is a little melted, but I'm sure it's still good."

Bruno smiled back softly and nodded. "That sounds good, amore."

Maria hurriedly went to change into her pajamas and wash her face. She detoured to the kitchen to grab the gelato before one of the kids could find it and hurried back upstairs to her injured husband.

She crawled into bed beside him, producing two spoons and the pint of dessert. "Are you comfortable, darling?" she asked, leaning over to kiss his forehead.

"As comfortable as possible," he said truthfully. "I'm rather sore."

"Well, chocolate helps," Maria smiled, before she leaned over him. "And so does kissing it better."

She pressed her lips to his and Bruno reached up to cradle the back of her head, holding her close for a few long minutes as their mouths worked against each other.

When Maria finally pulled away, she met his love-blown eyes and said, "Remember that the next time you go on a dangerous mission and promise me you'll come home safe."

Bruno slid his hand down her cheek and brushed his thumb across her cheekbone. "I promise I will."

Maria, satisfied, tucked herself against his side and they both dug into the gelato.

When it was finished, Bruno could barely keep his eyes open another second and Maria kissed his cheek and folded the blankets more firmly over them both as she pulled his head in under her chin. He gave a soft sigh, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in her shoulder.

"Thank you, my love," he whispered.

Maria kissed his head and played with his hair until he fell asleep. "Sleep well, darling. I'll look after you tonight."

“Stands are a manifestation of our souls,” she says, voice clipped with professionalism yet soothing as she pets the brown, doglike Stand curled up around Fugo’s shoulders. “What they feel, you feel. If we cannot take care of ourselves, we can project our needs to our Stands and deliver it through them. If we do not know how we feel, we can look into our Stands and understand ourselves. By caring for your Stand, you care for yourself, although not directly.”

“I don’t know where to begin.” Haze isn’t like the Sex Pistols who are easily pacified by food. He’s not like Spice Girl who can express herself and her needs freely.

Fugo learns how to take care of himself and Purple Haze, with a little help from his friends.

Thoughts: LETS GOOO Fugo Trish friendship supremacy. Also I’m such a huge fan of stand centric fics so I’m automatically bias. Fugo enjoyers should def check this one out. It’s a good fic. Just Fugo learning to love himself and what more could you want??

I don’t believe I heard you correctly…?” “Your biological father is the stand-wielding master vampire, Dio Brando, who, in 1889, stole my great-great grandfather’s body and attempted to take over the world. I killed him once, nearly fifteen years ago now- but it seems… The bastard just won’t stay dead.” Giorno blinks at him before motioning for Mista to refill his wine glass. “Leave the bottle,” he tells him.

Thoughts: The summary looks a bit janky but the fic is spaced out. The fic is OOC but funny as hell, and consider the author and I just enjoy seeing Giorno and Dio being sassy. Jotaro/Rohan is not something I ship but man,,,,, I was forced to enjoy it okay. Rohan was just so funny I couldn’t not like it. Damn you author, I might seek out more now. All character interactions are just gold and I keep coming back for serotonin. Like, here’s a very small interaction

Mista is still frowning, studying Dio’s face like it was going to be on a test.

Giorno just watches him do it- watches the cogs in his head turn like a complicated old clock.

“...He’s kind of hot.”

“Mista. No.”

In which quirks are mistaken for Stands, Stands are mistaken for quirks, and weird hand-related complexes are in abundance.

Or: Tomura Shigaraki and Yoshikage Kira switch places. They have fun. Nobody else does.

Thoughts: I never knew I needed to see Local Mega Bestie Bros Josuke and Okuyasu make Shigaraki their bro. I never knew that’s what I needed. Kira has a ball and the rest of the league collectively lose their damn mind. Please give them rest. Its a very fun fic. It feels very fast paced because of how often the point of views switch but it really keeps my attention as I read because I can get distracted from longer fics.

somebody's baby boy ain't coming home tonight by simkjrs (oneshot) ⭐

He rolls back the sleeve on his left arm and looks at the scabbed-over words that have been cut into his skin.

It’s not like Jotaro makes it a habit to listen to what other people say to him, but this is too strange of a case. He doesn’t remember doing this to himself, but if he didn’t do it, then who? And if he did do it, then why can’t he remember?

Four months after Egypt, and there is something strange happening back at home.

Thoughts: author wHY WOULD YOU WRITE THIS that hurt. Jotaro centirc and it’s a long one shot. As per the authors words, “ I'm just sitting here like can everyone grow up and read this really fucked up and evil thing I wrote already?” Just some warnings real quick part 6 spoilers and there are some extra warnings in the notes. There’s an oc if that counts at a warning but we love the oc so read it. Once again, that hurt. Very well written. I felt very immersed in Jotaro’s thoughts and feelings. It felt so raw at some points. The ending is very good so go read
