hello hello, today I bring one of the most detailed pieces I've made up to date, made for the Character Study zine!
I know cyberpunk isn't the typical dnd setting but Centi's campaign has been the longest and most emotional game I've been part of so far, so I really wanted to draw a tribute to it, especially now that it's ending (just the epilogue left!)
I'm gonna miss playing this chaotic lesbian ❤️

Mammoth Kongs’s less-than-impressive appearance in the Moonlight Mask anime (1972).  Apparently he got to battle other kaiju, or at least some lame Giant Robo wannabe.
The Moonlight Mask anime never made it to the USA, but did play in Latin America under the title Centella.  The anime ran 39 episodes, and adapted three of the story arcs from the original 1958 television series.  The Mammoth Kong arc was the middle story (episodes 14-26) in the anime.

FFXIVWrite Day twenty-five: Call it a Day
K’achow opened to the door to the announcer’s booth and let out a loud, “Heeeeey B’rent!!” He was holding a soda in one hand using the other to hold open the door.  B’rent turned off the mic as quickly as he could and looked at his bestie as annoyed as he could. “You know you’re not supposed to be up here!!” He wasn’t allowed to be up here back when he was a racer and K’achow certainly couldn’t be up here when he was just a member of the audience.  “Nuh-uh-uh.” K’achow smirked and waggled his finger around, “You’re talking to a coach!”  “Coach or not you still can’t be up here!” K’achow sat down in his regular seat next to B’rent. He had no idea why he still had it up here since he rarely had co-commentators. “What if I said there was a certain lalafell you’re crushing on that’s racing today and it’s all thanks to yours truly.”  “...That’s cheating and you know it.” B’rent blushed.
It was getting late, Centella knew that at any time Tilika and Kolka would call them inside to eat dinner together and all the lessons that K’achow had tried to sink into Babycorn’s head would be gone quicker than whatever food Babycorn had on her plate.
She knew Babycorn well enough to know that.
“Bebe? Bebe!” Cherrypit raised his hands over and stretched them towards his sister. Not in the usual freaky type of Cherrypit way, but in the normal baby way. He and Centella had been sitting on a beach towel together watching their siblings train on the beach for a little over an hour.
It was about at this time that Cherrypit finally reached the threshold of his patience. He really wanted uppies, specifically from his big sister.
Centella grabbed one of Cherrypit’s ingots that he liked to bite and handed it to him. To her relief he happily grabbed it and started chewing on it. Cherrypit wasn’t too much of a hassle to keep entertained, between all the toys that Babycorn had left for him to play with and how much he kept himself busy.
At some point Centella watched, entranced as Cherrypit put on a play between some dolls all about fighting a giant wyrm. He even did little voice for each character too, it felt incredibly specific. Almost too specific.
Cherrypit pointed at his sister. “Bebe done?” he asked.
“Almost I think!” Centella really had no clue, but since K’achow and Babycorn weren’t on their Chocobos anymore it was probably safe to say they were almost done with their training. “Do you wanna ride with them next time?” It was really cute how excited Cherrypit had gotten every time Babycorn passed by them on Dusty.
Sure that did cause Babycorn to get herself launched into the sand more than once but once she did get back on her feet she just kept waving back at Cherrypit as he waved back at her.
It reminded her a bit of how she used to show up and cheer K’achow on at almost every single one of his races.
“You wanna try and be a chocobo racer too?”
“M’ wanna race!” Cherrypit giggled and grabbed his stuffed chocobo, making it run back and forth just like Dusty and Lightning had. His stuffed chocobo’s name was also Dusty in case you were wondering. “I go with Bebe?”
“No, not yet!” Centella was sad to say but Babycorn had been very insistent that Cherrypit stay out of their way after the incident where they were both almost run down by K’achow’s chocobo, Lightning. Though pretty much everyone there knew that if that did happen Cherrypit would bounce back like it was nothing.
Still, Centella was going to respect Babycorn’s wishes.
“Pooie!” Cherrypit pouted, crossing his arms.
Centella badly held in a snort of laughter. The phrase ‘Watch the fucking language.’ echoed in her head. She knew better than to say something like that out loud around Cherrypit. There was always a risk of him latching on to a word he thought was funny and repeating it around everywhere he went.
“Just wait a little bit more. Okay little guy?”
Centella picked Cherrypit up and placed him on top of her legs. “Maybe there’s a really small chocobo for you to ride out there?” She grabbed the stuffed chocobo and used it to tickle the top of Cherrypit’s head as he laughed.
Cherrypit grabbed the toy back and gave it a tight hug. “Afaa! Afaa!” He tried his best to say one of his friends' names. But Centella didn't quite understand. Which was fair because she had never met either Alpha or Omega.
Right now both her brother and Babycorn were standing by the shore, probably going over everything they did today. Which from what Centella saw was mostly K’achow making it to the finish line they established and Babycorn stopping halfway through the race for some reason or another.
“You got your work cut out for you K’achow…”
Centella couldn’t quite remember just how long it had taken for Babycorn to learn not to take food from customer’s plates back when they first met in Limsa Lominsa but she was pretty sure it had taken a long time. Even then, she still did it. No matter how good of a teacher you were, Babycorn was going to find a way to not learn.
She had warned K’achow of this ahead of time and yet his confidence did not waver one bit.
K’achow had wanted to become a chocobo racing trainer for a few years now, ever since he retired from racing. His retirement came as a shock to Centella at first. There was nothing her brother loved more than racing, she just couldn't comprehend why he was just giving it all up like that.
It made Centella even madder that she had missed his last race because she had been in the hospital. Recovering from almost being murdered, you know, normal stuff.
It wasn’t until after she was able to walk out of the house by herself did Centella find out that her brother had been forcibly retired, all because he had chosen to take care of her rather than go to one of his scheduled races.
So she was more than happy to mention him when Babycorn had mentioned wanting to participate in a chocobo race. If anyone could teach her, it was K’achow. “Your sister is real talented, you know that, right?” Centella wiggled Cherrypit’s arms in the air, he had a lot of fun whenever someone did that. “...So is K’achow but hmm…”
The two of them had a lot of hurdles to get through. Especially given that it was just recently that Babycorn had stopped running away screaming at the mere sight of K’achow.
The first hurdle they ran into was way before any of the actual racing even started needed to cross was that Babycorn was determined in racing on Dusty. Her brother had very plainly stated that Dusty might be just a little too old to race and keep up with her younger chocobos.
Dusty decided to prove K’achow wrong by grabbing him by the shirt collar and flinging him into the ocean. After that K’achow swam his way back to shore he decided that Dusty could at least help Babycorn practice until she got assigned a specific racing chocobo.
(a secret that he was keeping specifically to keep himself alive for the time being.)
The second hurdle came when the practice finally started. Babycorn got herself stuck in the sand.
Not Dusty, Babycorn herself. Somehow had gotten herself stuck, in the sand, buried up to her arms. Almost like the beach was trying to eat her. Which funnily enough was what she was screaming.
The third hurdle was when Babycorn fell into the ocean and remembered that was where fish lived. It had taken the combined efforts of Centella and K’achow to convince her that fish were incapable of jumping out of the ocean to attack her face.
The thing that finally made K’achow stop the training for today was when Babycorn asked Dusty to stop because there happened to be a crab in her way and she didn’t want to hit it.
“Babycorn! Are you kidding me?!”
“I’m not! Look at it! It’s cute!!”
“...Now that you mention it. It is kinda cute. BUT STILL-!!”
It looked like they both had a lot to learn, on how to race and how to be a good coach.
Centella noticed that both of them had turned around and were heading back. She decided that letting Cherrypit run over to his sister wouldn’t hurt anyone. “You wanna go hug Bebe?” She asked him. Cherrypit answered by literally taking off running, leaving behind a literal cloud of dust as he did. “Woah.”
“Bebe! Bebe! Bebe!” Cherrypit ran towards his sister, waving his arms up and down.
“Cherryyyyyyy!!” Babycorn knelt down and opened her arms to let Cherrypit jump into them. When he did, she hugged him as tight as she could and gave him a kiss on his head. “Bleh! Bleh! Gross Bebe!” Cherrypit giggled and tried to wipe the kiss away but Babycorn just kept kissing him in the same spot.
Cherrypit wiggled in his sister’s arms and pointed back towards the beach towel he and Centella had been sitting on. “Play! Can we play?” He had been waiting this whole time for his sister to be done so they could play together! It was fun playing with Centella but he wanted to play with Bebe too!
“Yeah! Of course!” Babycorn let her brother climb on to her head as they ran over to play. Probably something involving their ongoing drama about how Cherrypit’s teddy bear was going to save princess chocobo from the evil tower she was being held prisoner in.
Dusty chased after them, watching over them almost like he was their parent.
Centella walked over to her brother, “So? How’s it looking?”
Both K’achow and Lightning sighed for a worrying amount of time until they decided to speak up. “She’s…Got a long way to go.” Riding a chocobo and fighting alongside one was just a little different than racing them. Still, Centella was surprised to see K’achow’s cocky grin return. “But I was the same way! I was a terrible racer!”
“And you still are!”
“Hey!”
Centella playfully hit her brother in the ribs with her elbow. “I’m just kidding!” Both siblings laughed together. K’achow discreetly tried to rub at his side in pain .
“But I bet you’re gonna be a really good coach.”
K’achow smiled, “Thanks.” He was a little embarrassed.

Dual Pop
Eye Patches 👀
I’ve always been a fan and user of under eye patches. Wanted to try something different from the usual ‘gold’ patches. Found these (available on my Amazon store) and they are soothing. Packaging is too cute. The dual colors represent the dual ingredients: ceramides (provides intense hydration) and centella asiatica (medicinal herb that enhances collagen).

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Blue Serum Review
Tumblr media
Centella Asiatica in skincare is not going anywhere anytime soon. And if you think of Centella, SKIN1004 is definitely the K-Beauty brand that will pop in your head!
The brand gained great popularity with their best-selling Madagascar Centella line, specifically the ampoule, which I’ve listed as one of the most popular products in my centella asiatica post.
What I’m reviewing today is not the OG Centella ampoule, but an interesting serum from the Hyalu-Cica line that I’ve been trying out recently.
Check out the full review here: SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Blue Serum
Have you tried this Korean skincare brand before? What's your favorite product from them?

after a little over a year playing Centi...she died last session :')
(don't worry, she got better)
for context:
we were on our way to fight the bbeg that is her dad, Thunder, so he doesn't bring about the end of the world. We were in a building he's completely covered in black iron roots which he controls, and he made three versions of "what Centella could have been if she'd listened to him" made of that black iron to fight us, the last of those got Centi down! 😭
she got pushed against the black roots and was slowly getting absorbed into them but thankfully, Mythannae was there (just for this one session! thank god LOL) and he knew Centi always carries a diamond with her, so he was able to bring her back! 🙏🙏🙏

mixsoon Centella Stick Balm  Review
I am becoming quite the fan of balm sticks, so look for several reviews on balm sticks over the next few months.   Jolse,  a premier online KBeauty store, sent me the mixsoon’s Centella Stick Balm  product complementary for review purposes.  Mixsoon’s name is a combination of the English word “mix” and the Korean word for “pure” ~  순수한, which sounds like sunsuhan.  Mixsoon is a plant-based,…

The fires of love will never die
Babycorn looked over to where Cherrypit was still holding onto the fishing rod. They had been asked to fish out a very specific fish out from the ocean. From the drawing she had been shown of it Babycorn already decided she wanted NOTHING to do with it. She looked over to Cherrypit again. He looked back and waved back at her with a big dopey smile. He was having fun. Babycorn couldn't understand it. How could anyone ever stand to even be near a fish? So slimy and wet and so very violent!! And the way they way they would just stare at her...Creepy...
Lalapril 4/4: Coast young babycorn visits the beach with her friiiiiiends!!! and learns about the ocean :) but uh oh watch out
“Woaaahhh…”
Babycorn watched as the ocean water slid on the sand, closer, then farther. Then it came close again and then it went away again. Over and over. The question of why it was doing that rang in her head over and over, as many times as the tide came in.
She was so entranced by the ocean that she wasn’t even paying attention to the time.
Allie carried the last of their supplies onto their dinghy. Thankfully they had gone through most of everything they brought so this timen Babycorn wouldn’t have to spend the entire ride clinging onto one of their heads. “Looks like we’re all set to go!” Allie addressed the rest of the team. Since it had been a relatively small island gathering only four of them, including her, had been assigned to cater it.
“It’s about time!” Her twin sister Annie slowly made her way over to the boat. She was hunched over, rubbing at her sore back. “My back is killing meee!”
“You’re the one who said you wanted to come.” Allie reminded her.
“Hmph.” Annie rolled her eyes and straightened her back, “I was only worried that something would go wrong! You did agree to come here with Babycorn.” There was no need for her to mention that Babycorn had only been helping them for less than a month at this point. This job wasn’t anything too important but Annie couldn’t bear to think what would happen if they got any negative reception at this point.
“I thought she could use the experience!”
There was something about Allie’s nonchalant attitude that was making Annie’s back pain even worse. “I’m sure she could have gotten experience back at our actual restaurant .” Why was Allie even bringing Babycorn on jobs when she wasn’t even considered an employee at all?
All it was good for was giving Annie a headache.
The question seemed to fly over Allie’s head, as instead of answering it she was busy looking over to where Centella was standing still, watching over Babycorn who was standing even stiller than she was.
“Hold that thought.” Allie gestured at her sister and walked over to see what was going on.
“H-Huh?! You can’t just ignore me!!”
Allie turned around but kept walking towards Centella and Babycorn, “I’ll be right back I promise!” She flashed her twin a thumbs-up and turned back around.
It was true Allie had a bad habit of getting distracted mid-conversation but in her defense she had a remarkable memory and was able to pick a conversation back up right away.
Not that it still didn’t annoy Annie at points. “Sure! I guess!” She threw her hands up in desperation and brought them back down immediately. “I’ll just be over here! The only person that cares about our job!”
Annie could only manage minding her own business for a total of three minutes before grumbling to herself and following Allie to see what in the hell the others were up to.
When Allie got there she noticed that Allie was hunched over alongside Babycorn, both of them were looking at something in the sand.
It also looked like they were talking about something. Considering everything she knew about Babycorn it was probably something involving food or her new friend she made by the docks a few days ago.
Centella was still standing in the same spot, staring at the waves in front of her. At first she had just been making sure Babycorn wasn't going to get carried off by the ocean but after Allie had shown up her attention switched to staring at the horizon. Something about it made her just a little homesick.
Centella noticed Annie from the corner of her eye. She was looking as grumpy as ever, but as everyone who worked with her knew, that was just sorta what she looked like. Deep down she was actually really sweet but it wasn’t she went around advertising or anything. “H-Hi Annie! Is everything ready to go?” With all that in mind, Centella still couldn’t help but be nervous around her.
“Yeah.” Straight and to the point, that was how Annie usually was. “We can leave once Babycorn and Allie are done with whatever it is they’re doing.”
Centella’s ears perked up in excitement. She knew the answer to this one! “Oh it won’t be long then! Babycorn found a little tide pool and Allie is teaching her about it!” It was another way of saying ‘stopping Babycorn from potentially getting herself hurt from touching something she shouldn’t.’
Annie groaned, “Really? Isn’t this something she could teach her back in Limsa?”
“Well it's like my brother always says; Hands-on experience is the best kind!”
“Your brother? You mean the Chocobo racer?” Annie asked.
“The very same!” Centella briefly wondered for a moment if K’achow ever talked about her with his friends. “He always told me that he learned how to work with Chocobos from helping a Chocobo farmer with helping take care of them.” It also didn’t hurt that he also got paid to do it.
“Guess so…” Annie couldn’t help but feel that there was a difference between the two but for whatever reason she couldn’t come up with anything. Even though she was so sure. This train of thought did bring her to another question she had been ruminating on for a while.
“So Centella?” Annie’s voice turned into a hushed tone. Allie wasn’t very attentive but it was better to be safe than sorry. “Can I ask you something?”
Centella turned to look at Annie “Hmm?” She wondered what else Annie had to ask from her. Hopefully it wasn’t for an autograph from her brother, she’d had enough of his fans showing up to her work for one lifetime.
“What do you know about Babycorn?”
“...Huh?” Centella mindlessly twirled the end of her braids around her finger. “What do you mean?”
Annie sighed in desperation. “I mean what do you know about her! Think about it! We all know things about each other! I mean not whole life stories but we know at least some things! Like how you’re related to some hot-shot chocobo racer and M’yusa has a boyfriend back home where she lives!” Most of the time when they found out something among each other was after work, during times like this. “But think about it…We don’t know anything about Babycorn! Don’t you find that a little bit suspicious?”
Centella was a little too surprised to answer immediately.
Once she was able to gather her thoughts and feelings, she was just confused. “Suspicious? Of Babycorn? You’re not serious are you?” There was nothing about Babycorn that set off any red flags about her. She had never given them a reason to.
Annie however, thought differently. “Of course I’m serious!”
Centella could have sworn that the waves of the ocean picked up in intensity just then. It must have been her imagination.
“We just happened to find her rummaging through our things after one of the busiest days of the year?” Annie continued, “It just seems too good to be true. There has to be something up…”
Centella didn’t know what to say to that. Especially when she knew that Babycorn loved Annie with her whole heart. Something that Babycorn had told her one morning when Centella was helping her brush her hair.
It made sense, it had been Annie who had given Babycorn the first peace offering between all of them. It had been Annie who was the first that hadn’t scared her.
The sound of the ocean’s waves calmed. “I think…she’s just a scared kid. It happens right? Maybe something happened to her family and she just doesn’t want to talk about it.” Centella shrugged, it made the most sense to her. “Babycorn will tell us about herself when she wants to. I don’t think it's a good idea to push it…”
“...That so?”
Evidently it really wasn’t what Annie wanted to hear but she decided to accept it for now.
There was a heavy tension between the two. Centella wanted to say something to ease Annie’s feelings but she was cut off by a sudden loud scream coming from the beach.
“Allie?!” Annie took off running towards her sister with Centella following closely behind her.
When both of them reached the other two girls they were met by a confusing sight. Babycorn was lying on the ground, completely knocked out and Allie was kneeling right next to her. As weird as the situation was, it got even weirder when Centella noticed that Allie didn’t look all too worried.
Instead she just looked really confused.
Centella knelt down next to Allie and placed her hand on Babycorn’s forehead, there was a noticeable bump on it. The kind that could only happen from something hitting her square in the face. “Did something happen?” Had it happened while she and Annie were talking?
Annie looked at her sister and then at Babycorn. “Weird. There aren’t any stairs here for her to fall from.” Usually that’s what happened when Babycorn hurt herself. “Did she trip on a seashell or something?”
Allie shook her head. While that did sound like something Babycorn would do, that wasn’t the case this time.
There was an odd moment that Centella took note of. Allie seemed to be trying to hold in laughter. “Right. I…uhm…I pointed at a fish swimming near us and the next thing I knew it jumped out of the water and hit her square in the face like-! WACK!” Allie smacked herself in the forehead to demonstrate what had happened.
“...Owwie…” Allie instantly regretted doing that. If her hand had hurt that much it made sense that a Wahoo hitting Babycorn on the forehead would be enough to just knock her out.  Babycorn was pretty small.
As soon as Annie heard what had happened she burst out laughing. “Attacked by a fish?! And here I thought Babycorn loved eating. If she really did-she would have caught that thing in her mouth.”
“Don’t say that!!” Allie protested, “I’ve been teaching her this entire time that she can’t put everything in her mouth!”
“Oh yeah.” Centella wondered out loud. “That’s a problem right? Since she keeps putting our cleaning supplies in her mouth.” Bars of soap with teeth marks on them had started to become commonplace ever since Babycorn started living with them.
“That’s more than a problem I think…” Allie sighed.
Deciding that they were done here and Annie wasn’t going to stop laughing any time soon she carefully picked Babycorn up from the sand and carried her up. “Well I guess our time here is up.”
“About time!” Annie cheered, it was getting late and the earlier they got back home the more time she would have to clean up whatever mess the others back home probably needed help with.
It was the weekend after all and they were probably getting more customers than usual.
As soon as they all turned to leave, Annie thought she heard something. “Huh?” She quickly turned around and as soon as she did another fish flew out from the ocean, hitting directly in the face.
“AHHHHFFT!” Annie fell back into the sand but unlike Babycorn she wasn’t knocked out in the slightest. Before either Allie or Centella could ask Annie if she was alright, she sat right back up in a rage.
“YOUUUUUUU!!” Annie threw her shoes off and started to walk right into the ocean, her uniform be damned. “COME BACK HERE AND SMACK ME AGAIN YOU COWARD!”
“Are you yelling at the fish?” Allie asked, “I don’t think fish have ears to hear you yell?”
“Do they not? Blooming told me that fish gills are kind of like their ears.” Centella moved her hands around her neck to mimic the movement of gills.
“Oh really?” Allie was surprised to learn that. “You’ll have to tell Babycorn that when she wakes up! Since I didn’t teach her that!”
“THEY WHAT?!”
Centella and Allie were both aback by the sudden addition of Babycorn’s voice to the conversation. Her hair was even more frizzled out than usual and with the sudden shaking she was doing she looked a lot more like a small dog than a teenage girl. “Those things can come out of the w-w-w-water?!” There were very large tears coming out from the corners of her eyes.
If ‘fish’ could be on land too then what was stopping them from attacking her again?!?!
Allie gave Babycorn a reassuring pat on the back, trying to calm her down. “No, no, it’s okay! Fish can’t do anything to hurt you! You’re way too big and strong for that!”
“Don’t lie to the girl Allie.”
By now Annie had given up on finding the fish that had left her with a mark to match Babycorn’s. “Besides she didn’t say anything about fish walking on land-just that they can hear with their ears. That they have. Apparently.”
“B-B-But if they can hear me that means they can get meeeeee!!” Babycorn continued to only hear what scared her the most and grabbed onto Allie’s dress with a tight grip.
Centella thought she noticed a small shadow running past them. It was trying so hard to keep himself hidden that most of them gladly played along for now. At least when Babycorn was paying attention to them.
Allie gently ran her hand across the top of Babycorn’s ruffled head. It sort of resembled the feathers of a Chocobo, but she kept that thought to herself. “No fish will ever get you as long as I’m here!” Pretty bold claim but Allie was willing to say pretty much anything if it helped Babycorn feel better.
Babycorn sniffled.  “You promise?”
“I promise!”
