This guy again. He has a thing for plants. Work in progress. This is a digital painting I've been working on for...a few months? I guess? I started it and then dropped it and have just started it again. Digital painting kind of terrifies me. Often, however, just like writing is rewriting, painting is repainting. If you watch the videos you will see me struggle with Lauraliee’s face. 🎨🤓The one thing I learned as a portrait artist is that eyes are the most important part of the face. If I cannot get the expression right in the eyes, it will not matter if the rest of the painting is beautiful. 🤯 As I’m painting I’m trying to feel what the character is feeling. It is not just about shapes and structure. (You can also see that I lost some structure as I focused on the feelings, then had to bring it back.😅) The same holds true for being an author. ✍🏻 As you are writing your scene it is not about the characters and dialogue we, the audience, see, you always have to consider what we do not see. 😌What is happening beyond the scene we are focusing on? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤔What do you think Lauraliee is feeling and thinking at this moment?
