As I enter April (sometimes called Hell Month), I try to treat small moments with greater attention.
This latte was SO good. The enviornment in the coffee shop was perfect for a productive session. I laughed and smiled today. I saw a bumble bee for the first time in months. People were outside with each other. I got a good amount of work done. I got to help someone twice today.
Finals is a hard time, but mindfulness really does help.

So @citrusstudy requested a chemistry version of my how to study series, make sure you check out my history and biology posts also.
In class
Taking Notes. I like to include a lot of diagrams in my chemistry notes because I sometimes think that there are too many fancy words that I don’t understand.
Asking Questions. As always ask your teacher questions, that’s what they’re there for.
Revising / Studying
I said this for biology as well but I think the most important thing about studying the sciences is UNDERSTANDING the topics, not just memorising the information. If you don’t understand it you can’t apply it.
Watch Videos. As i mentioned with biology there are so many amazing channels and videos on YouTube that can teach you about chemistry, I love to use videos as they often phrase things in a different way than your teacher allowing you to look at the topic from a different perspective.
Make it fun, I used to ask my teachers if I could use their room at lunch and me and my friends would write key words on the board and take turns defining them. (it’s more fun than it sounds and definitely makes you remember the information.
Teach Someone! (or just pretend to), again I think that this works for any subject and this is my favourite technique ever. Get a whiteboard and teach! the best thing to do is get a friend and take turns teaching each other different topics.
PAST PAPERS!! honestly a gift to humanity, past papers are so helpful it’s ridiculous how many people don’t use them. You can read textbooks and memorise all you want but if you don’t know how to address the questions and apply your knowledge you won’t be hitting those top marks.
Experiment Write-Ups
I did say this in my biology post but the same rules apply
Do it immediately. If you have to write about an experiment you did do it as soon as possible, this way the experiment is fresh in your mind
Research. Research similar experiments or the topic your experiment is about in order to gain more understanding.
Once again feel free to share your own tips and let’s ace this together.
And please request some more topics, I want to know what you guys want to see.
Also, I’m doing 10 days of posts so make sure you come back tomorrow for my new one and check out yesterdays top tips on your first year at university or college.

this is NOT the point in the semester I should just be getting into a "I'll just wing it" mindset!!

What an exhausting week. Continuing to struggle through, though.
Good luck, everyone.

Found a new study spot on campus. I've been needing a change of scenery and I think I finally found my new favorite spot

Studying hasn't been all that aesthetic recently... mostly on my breaks at work and late nights with my stuff just thrown around. But hey, that's the reality of college. The work has to get done somehow!

Nice weather = outdoor studying! First time I've done this probably since October! I needed a change of scenery from the library anyway.
