Hegel's overriding impulse was to comprehend all dimensions of existence as dialectically integrated in one unitary whole. In Hegel's view, all human thought and all reality is pervaded by contradiction, which alone makes possible the development of higher states of consciousness and higher states of being. Each phase of being contains within itself a self-contradiction, and it is this that serves as the motor of its movement to a higher and more complete phase. Through a continuing dialectical process of opposition and synthesis, the world is always in the process of completing itself. Whereas for most of the history of Western philosophy from Aristotle onward, the defining essence of opposites was that they were logically contradictory and mutually exclusive, for Hegel all opposites are logically necessary and mutually implicated elements in a larger truth. Truth is thus radically paradoxical.

Nina and Eddie seeing the school for the first time parallels.
While the camera shots are taken from different angles, both Nina and Eddie are standing in the same spot
I'm pretty sure this is purely coincidental, but i'm going to indulge my delusional self and say this is actually the first osirian hint. :D

so, the walls in my place are paper thin and i was just in the middle of recording a new audio when i heard someone quietly "join in" on the other side. it's not the first time this has happened lately and i'm curious whether she's aware that i can definitely hear her (and sometimes the vibrator too) although she's being pretty quiet.

I think a lot about how one of tpn's leading themes was “in another world, you and me could have been friends (we'll fight for that world together)” and how bsd literally went “this magic book has the power to tell me there's literally no universe where you and me could be happy together”

what i like about ada's report, & i'll get into it more eventually, is that despite it being ada explaining the plot (& her motivations) to you directly, it presents an interesting relationship between ada, a known liar & manipulator, & the audience. while she withholds information from other characters & skirts about on mystery throughout RE4 & separate ways, there is one person to whom she doesn't lie, to whom she does tell the truth, at least a part of it, & that is you, the player. it is a very neat narrative device that wouldn't work as well in a different medium

actually i'm so obsessed with the Julian&Sandy + Kenneth Horne and Stefon + Seth Meyers parallels. the "Straight Man" who can't help but crack a smile interrogating his (heavily coded as) gay friend(s) that calling "whacky" would be putting it very lightly. comedy hasn't changed in 50 years.
And hey. it's still very funny and endearing to me! The tried and true formula is great!

Someone pointed out that Matt getting his new suit from Luke is probably really fucking expensive and how the hell can Matt afford it?? To which I say, I think a certain Italian mobster — cough cough definitely not Ciro cough cough — miiiiiiight have had some involvement
He 100% WOULD make some calls and cough up the cash because like, look, God knows he and Matt do not get along because mob connections ethics literal murder they are two very different people. Pay just for Matt? For MATT? Never! He does this not for his son in law Matt, but instead for Jane, who would be very put out if her husband died because her pigeon of a husband is determined to subsist only on breadcrumbs and thus cannot afford a Good Suit, and he also does this for Matt's mom who is a literal nun and maybe by helping save her son, Ciro will win bonus Catholicism points with Jesus and thus shorten his expected time in purgatory which he has planned for.

Something about how Wolf 359 is primarily character-driven rather than plot driven. Something about how all the villains extol the value of the ‘big picture’, the grand cosmic happenings that are more important than any people’s lives or desires. Something about the contact event mattering because of the way the characters react in the face of it. Something about an immortal alien empire reaching out to mankind for the first time by having a chat with one man alone in a room. Something about how, as aliens judge whether the human race deserves to live and a megacorporation plans world domination, the story is about a group of people stuck on a tin can together and the way they feel about their lives, the world and each other.

North mainly remembers Ballas as how he was as Narmer, and the two are kinda just separate entities in their brain anyway. And their memories from before the Zariman jump are fuzzy and full of holes. And they generally suck at recognising ppl by voice and usually pass off any recognition as having made a mistake
And Higgins just has no first-hand memories of Ballas since he doesn't remember his old life and came to consciousness way after TNW concluded
This is all to say that neither North nor Higgins make any connections about the Warden (besides him feeling annoyingly familiar to North) until they return from Duviri after the first time Kullervo's island has appeared, and Higgins chats with the other frames in the group via transference, which is always a mix of actual words, emotions, and memory bits getting bounced back and forth, and Alden goes "what is this motherfucker doing in Duviri now"

Y'all can absolutely give me shit if you want to; however, frankly, I have no regret for who I opted to hard block on this blog just recently. I've also progressed into gratitude towards those that decided to then hard block me in retaliation / solidarity. Muu tried to overlook his hurt and grievances on account of nobody really having his back. I knew the bounds of that threshold had been broken through when he began ruminating again, and yet I still remained unprepared for how drastically different his head space has been these last few weeks now. I'll admit that, honestly, the lack of fear taking place in it these days is a bit chilling to me really.
