so there's this post that talks about how people call jason's curved knife a kris but it's not a kris 'cuz why would he have a southeast asian knife? and op's tags say if you're gonna give him an 'exotic' weapon at least make him malay or something. a later reblog adds a filipino kris as an example, and then i was like, 'omg, jason in a barong tho.' Suicune was my childhood favorite legendary! It might still be, even. I still have my old Pokémon Crystal cartridge and GBC, though my old save is lost to time as the game's internal battery died.

While some folk may consider Walking Wake to be kinda wonky, I think it's kinda cool! Nice to see an old favorite get some attention. It's 11'6" and has a huge mane, fluffy feets and two loooong tails. What's not to love. Though it makes me wonder about the resurrection story of Suicune, Raikou and Entei. Apparently, they aren't one-off legendaries if they have ancient forms... Perhaps the modern trio is a double resurrection in a sense, the 3 martyr Pokémon themselves AND the ancient species (but now in the shape of the Pokémon that had died). Two for one deal on Ho-Oh rezzes.

Hey everyone! this is where the zebra is currently with the design.

It has knee braces!! I will most probably be drawing the zebra usually with them on, but it’s no requirement, for example if anyone else wants to draw the zebra :-]. I always like to make sure an animal design has official colors underneath any clothing and accessory anyway. I think this will be final! thank you everyone for your feedback!

As a reminder, aside from why the zebra was requested for this flag, this is also just a zebra with the disability pride flag on it. It’s just a deisgn to fit the flag, with input from other disabled people in our community. It doesn’t mean other animals can’t have designs with these colors, too! I don’t mean this design to be the only mascot for all disabled people. It’s just a silly series i do of pride animals, and at the time, during disability pride month, I wanted to see what everyone wanted me to start off with for this flag!

the goal with my pride animals is to take requests and make people feel happy and seen.. that’s all <:-)

I really want to talk about how important it is for us as a people to start making proper city design a priority. I also want to talk about how the privatization of land is the first major barrier to having proper city design.

A lot of seemingly complex issues and tasks can be simplified or made easier to deal with by organizing our cities: Food distribution, commute times, housing, neighborhood safety, public transportation, business/practice regulation, emergency preparedness, general accessibility, mental health, access to medical services, public health, and probably a ton of other things I can't think of right now.

All of that and more could be made much easier if we organized our cities with things like mixed-use-development, the standardization of public transport over personal vehicles, a grid structure, prioritizing walkability on surfaces safe for the disabled (sidewalks over cobblestone), designating districts for certain kinds of services, mandating better minimum (and maximum) size requirements for homes, requiring a certain percentage of greenery or some form of nature for every square footage, and other tactics that I'm probably not even aware of since I'm no city planner.

All of this gets shit on when land can be privately owned, though. Businesses, rich folks, the greedy, and the ignorant buy land without any planning in mind for their community which leads to disorganized, unoptimized, and community-unfriendly cities/towns. Our efforts should always generally lead to the betterment of our community over the selfish betterment of our private circumstances.

Happy Sunday everyone! I’m quite shocked we’re 3/4 of the way through April. Where did this month go? On the other hand, it’s getting warmer and summer is around the corner, so bring it on!

I’ve got a snippet from Back and Back and Back, my time travel AU fic. Chapters 1 and 2 are written and half of 3 and 4 as well. It might be a while before I post, though, because I kind of want to have it all or mostly written first. It’s been a long time since I’ve written something not connected to a fest or event, so its nice having the luxury of time for this one. Here’s a bit of six year old Baz with his Dragon Man friend from Chapter 1 again:

“Jammie Dodgers? How’d you know those were my favorites?”

I smile proudly, even though I didn’t know that, but his bright smile and playful tone relaxes me.

“Would you like some?” I ask, stepping forward and holding the biscuits up to him.

“Thanks, Baz,” he says, reaching to take one and then wandering over to a fallen log to sit.

“It’s Basil,” I correct, following him over and sitting next to him on the log. He kicks his long legs out, crossing them at the ankle. I try to copy him and frown at how short my legs look compared to his. “Nobody calls me Baz.”

“Right, sorry,” he says, shaking his head with a smirk on his lips. “Keep forgetting.”

I saw your gemsona designs before! I love their shapes and colors dude and this is no different but I'm still gonna be a little mean

So you may take a look at this and think: "This is so ugly". And I'll tell you: "You're so right". There's too much going on with the design. To fit in the SU style (once you ignore the whole clean design), it needs to be simpler because it needs to be animated, easy to understand and with a limited palette.

Since it has the diamond insignia, I assume it's a Homeworld gem and trrried to go around that. A lot of the vibes I get is depressed artist more of an "Earth" so I made a sketch bonus!

Because your design has a lot, I divided it to have a Crystal Gem outfit (I don't know if as a gem they would join tho). More loosen hair but still asymmetrical. Im personally don't like fully black colors because that means changing the lineart in some specific parts and I'm picky.

Now don't get me wrong! Overcomplicating a design is fine. You're hurting no one, you're doing it for fun (I assume) and honestly who cares, art is about expression!
