The Mr Hobby Super Clear UV cut Flat sealant finally arrived so I could get on with him... Mostly coloured with mica pigments and a little of the same pigments mixed with varnish for details.

I might stick fur to his ears !

I used acetone goo to stick an EAH torso onto an old broken Tinkerbell/knock off gymnast Barbie pelvis/legs, and the torso's neck was broken so I put a screw in it, plus a bit of plastic to bulk it up, and stuck this LaLaLoopsy Workshop: Princess head (thanks I believe go to @musicalmeowsandcandiedlemons) on it because why not

Yes, it is very Pixar Woman Shaped™ (and the legs could use some de-yellowing.) The whole thing was a series of "what ifs" so it's fine

A friend of mine recently told me he wants to be able to show off some of the cool stuff I've been working on lately. So I decided to make a post about a recent project of mine. Meet Ping!

This is a ball-jointed doll I sculpted from polymer clay. I've never owned a BJD before and I've certainly never tried to make one of my own, but I'm really, really proud of how they turned out! I'm planning to try casting her in resin - mostly so I have copies I can mess around with without worrying about breaking the prototype.

I wanted to take better pictures than here at my messy crafting table/workstation before I shared publicly but like. That's not happening any time soon, so I might as well share now!

A commission for 2 face-ups and some body scars that kind of kicked my ass.

Somehow I kept getting like the worst sprays ever out of my sealant, especially on the iplehouse doll. Which is weird because like I have my own iplehouse doll and she has never been harder to spray than the others. Like I think this winter & spring being abnormally wet was part of the reason I was getting terrible sprays, but some of it was like WHY IS THIS HAPPENING. I spent like half a can of ZM spray...

And delays just cause more delays because I have too much time to ruminate.

Now I don't think I am gonna take any face-up commissions until I figure out what is messing up my workflow. I need to find the monkey wrench in the system.

I found a couple of exciting dolls today! I've wanted a PJ Barbie for awhile. I found this one for $2 at Kid 2 Kid. She's in good shape on a Twist 'n Turn body. The guy who checked me out was impressed with her. "Ooh! A real Barbie."

Likewise, I have wanted Carmen Major for awhile. I think her hair makes her thematically appropriate for Pride. Her face and hair had something sticky on it, but she cleaned up easy. They will get clothes later.
