Hi! I just dropped to say thank you on the comment you left on that fic writer complaining about having "old people" reading their fics. I'm 35 and it's already difficult to be an active fan within kpop because everyone thinks you're old, and now to tell me I could be Felix's mother (not even close) so I shouldn't read smut about him it's just so... Invalidating. He's an adult, he's in his 20's, I've seen people date with bigger age gaps (usually the man being older), and reading is just a fantasy??? It's a lot, for someone to tell me who and what I can and can't like? Awful. Sorry I end up venting, but I really wanted you to know I appreciate the comment because you really explained the point there perfectly.

Hello and happy new year! I first want to say thank you this message whoever you are anon. It encourages me to know that others feel the same as me. I'm sure even as anon, it wasn't easy to send this message especially when the fic writer is active on here (although blocked by me). And you're welcome. I was so bothered by it that I couldn't let it go without saying something. Ageism has never been an issue in fanfiction when I was growing up and I sure as hell am not going to let it happen now.

I've been discussing this issue with fellow fanfic writers and readers and we're all on the same page thinking this situation is silly. One, although it is real person fiction, the Felix in the story is a character. He is not the exact embodiment of Felix of SKZ. The reaction of said fic writer gives the impression that they believe the Felix in their story is a perfect and exact replica of him. Which is impossible considering none of us know h personally or that intimately.

Two, he is 22 fucking (pardon) years old. He is a legal adult. I type up marriages at my work and I've seen people with 30+ age gaps get married. And shockingly, married couples often have sex. It might be odd for most of us, but it's not wrong.

Three (this topic really gets me ranting), if there is an issue with Felix being sexualized by an older reader (who really isn't that old), there should be an issue with him being sexualized in the first place. He can see anything written about him. It's on a public forum. The funny thing about public forums is anyone can read anything. Minors, adults, anyone.

Four, will the fic writer take down their fics once they hit 35+? The Felix in their story is his current age of 22, yes? So, that would make them too old to read that fic if they plan to live by that rule. Also, when they get older, will they decide to read smut between people their age? Or is it not sexier to read about younger adults getting in on when you still remember what that part of life was like? Being that it's fiction, it's not creepy or perverted to read it. Even in real person fiction because it's as you said: fantasy.

I want you to know that it is valid for you to feel that way about someone saying a certain age can't read smut about a 22 year old despite it being fiction and fantasy. Most people our age can define the line between reality and fiction. We know that Felix in a smut fic (or any fic) is not Felix irl.

To the reader who was condemned for reading that Felix smut, I'm sorry if the situation has made you feel shunned from a hobby you've probably held for a long time as a way to escape. Fanfiction has always been an open community since even before I started reading it and there's been an unfortunate shift that is killing off readership and I hate that it's happening. I'm sure you understand that the Felix in fics is a character and not the real person (boy that'd be pretty awkward 😅). It's not your fault that a writer can't see that it's just fantasy that you were enjoying. If you haven't blocked them, I would encourage it. They don't want you to read their stuff anyway so 🤷🏻‍♀️.

To all older readers/writers 35+, know that my blog is a safe space for you. You can share your rants and sadness and any other emotions you have about this strange trend in fanfiction. Reading smut about real people who are younger than you is not wrong. They are merely characters who share some characteristics and a name.

Sorry I turned your message into a ranting platform, but I've been so bothered by this issue because it shouldn't even be an issue. If you haven't blocked the fic writer, I encourage that you do because you're right in that age range of people they don't want reading their stuff. They won't miss your readership. I honestly blocked them as soon as they responded to me because it wasn't worth the battle and they clearly don't want my readership either. The beauty of Tumblr is how easy it is to block blogs to eliminate toxicity. ☺️ Thank you again for the message and I hope you find future fics with writers who don't mind older readers reading their smut. 💜 And you also have a safe place here on my blog.

"Can I write a comment saying that I'm your actual boyfriend and ask them to stop dreaming?" he says. He doesn't like the idea of the fans seeing you being romantically with someone who is not him.

I think Jake is used to the "y/n x niki" edits on pinterest, YouTube, tiktoks and so on, so at first, he wouldn't really mind them. "Let them dream" he would say, but it bothers him. He wants you to be shipped with him so much that your ship would be the most famous and obvious. I can clearly see him pushing niki away whenever you make eye contact with him so that there won't be edits.

Sunghoon will tell you things like "I don't care", "that's edited" and so on, but then he's putting a dislike on every YouTube video with the compilations of you and Jungwon interacting. He would eventually write VERY long texts to the fan pages on instagram asking them to kindly stop making edits and videos about you and Jungwon. When you eventually find out about this, you'd ask him if that's true. "that was not me, that was a y/n x Jake shipper" he would say (and ofc you won't believe him).

Sunoo is running a fan page for himself and when he casually posts a pic of you and him together, he's receiving a dm from another fan page which annoyed him. "how can you ship y/n and sunoo when y/n and Jay are so obvious". Sunoo read the message and started to type aggressively without saying a word. "What's happening?" you'd ask him. "im arguing with a stranger because they dont understand that our ship is superior"

Just like Sunghoon, I think Jungwon would only say "It's okay, I don't care" in front of you, he's looking at the edits and at the y/n x Jake moments with a disgusted and judging face. He'll eventually post pics of you two that weren't released, so when people ask him where did he find the pics, he'd just say "if you had bought the enhypen membership you'd know".

TLDR: i have stockholm syndrome for 2020

i miss 2020. a lot. and its kind of weird, because you only really remember the bad parts. quarantine, home-schooling, covid, ect. but then there are the points where you actually had a good time. so, in this essay i will tell you about positive highlights in 2020. (strictly highlights for me!!!)

2020 was the year i discovered dead meat. if you dont know, dead meat is an awesome horror centric youtube channel, run by james a. janisse. on their, you will find kill counts and their podcast! plus, supercuts made off of the kill counts. i actually remember my first ever dead meat video! it was the banana splits one. i revisit that one every now and again. i kind of remember how i found them. i was on my parents bed since the charging cord for my computer at the time wasnt long enough to reach my bed, i had my head phones plugged in and was watching gacha videos since i was really deep into those. it was a sunny day since it was nearing the end of the year, and i had it on auto play. so, they were the next video. i thought james' was entertaining, so i kept watching. and after watching the entirety of the banana splits one, youtube recommended another one. so, slowly, i worked my way through a bunch of his videos. and i basically became a horror junkie because of dead meat!

2020 was the year food theory was started. i love matpat's content, but i was only interested in game and film theory if it was a movie i watched, or was a game i watched a playthrough of or played myself. when food theory came around, i fell in love! im not quite sure why, but food conspiracies were more interesting then film or game ones. plus, the theory ideas were completely wack! they were questions, that, at some point, we all had. (most of them. im looking at you, koolaid thanos theory.) like the tootsie pop one, what makes a sandwich a sandwich, stuff like that!

in 2020, everyone was a little funky, so nobody could really make fun of each other. well, they could, but they looked weird too, so it was kind of hard to take them serious. this actually somebody off of tiktok's view, but it's true, so i included it.

similar to the last point, everyone was cringe. you cant deny you were a little cringey back then. whether you wore bunny hats and called yourself arson, or you wrote shitty fanfiction on wattpad (me), you were somewhat cringe.

2020 had the best drama. as referenced in my eridan post, i love drama. (as long as it doesn't involve me!) jefree star, shane dawson, dream, ect. it was all so interesting, because every day you would wake up, and see that another person got canceled, and youd always wonder what they got canceled for.

2020 music was kind of peak, ngl. people like to hate something they loved when it gets popular for one reason or another. for example, have you ever seen those comments on tally hall videos complaining about how people only know them through tiktok? yeah those. it honestly isnt bad if you find music through tiktok or not. as long as you enjoy the song and arent gatekeeping. anyways! 2020 had penelope scott, melanie martinez, ect., the music was good, the artists made good music, and it was so easy to just listen to music and let reality wash away.

now this point is like my first 2, in 2020, i got really into fanfic culture. i hadn't really read fanfiction before, so reading through it and seeing a sea of conflicting writing styles and stories that were so fast paced it felt like reading them 3x was like entering a different realm. i actually started with FnF fanfic. my main ship to read was bf x pico. and i realize now that its probably because i like lovers to enemies to friends to lovers. and since i was deep into danganronpa, i dabbled in fanfic for that. actually, my first exposure to ao3 (my go to fanfic site) was through kokichis day at the zoo and kokichis day at the waterpark. kind of a shitty way to be introduced, between just those two fics, you have beastiality, rape, and necrophilia.

2020 was the year i got my leopard geckos, kelly and angel. i got them from my aunt because she was supposed to move to hawai'i for her job, but that didnt happen. 1 is albino and the other is a regular spotted one. i dont have much more to add.

so, there are all my reasons for having stockholm syndrome towards 2020.

i started this blog for fun and because i enjoyed writing fanfiction, but i eventually grew out of the kny fandom because of some of the people i met who made this whole tumblr experience just an awful experience

everyone is so obsessed with numbers, gatekeeping, and stirring the pot with stupid rumors that are either twisted, didnt know the full story, or just aren’t true (taken out of context even) there were also people from other fandoms that were literally just crazy and hate anons (i dont think i received as many as other people but it was still sad to see other people get bashed on)

my blog was my babey and i put so much work into everything i did, but i eventually started to hate my blog as a whole, it got to a point where i couldnt even consume fanfiction anymore because i was afraid that if it was similar to something i wrote i would get called out or cancelled for it

even tho no one owns a single trope, theme and etc.

my tumblr is no more and i dont think i’ll ever come back, but some of my works can still be found on AO3 (:

i still get those late night writing ideas i think about posting, and maybe i will post them, but i’ll prob assume a different alias by then 💕

They do have every right to be uncomfortable and that's fine if they are, but don't shut out a whole group of people. A majority of the content out there that we all consume is created by older people and even if there is smut, there seems to be no issue there on who consumes the media. Putting smut out in a public forum means all kinds of people will read it. If you don't want people to read it, then don't post it. Easy as that. Us "old ass" people can read whatever the fuck we want. It's fiction. It's not real. Or have you not figured out that it's fantasy yet?

I sure hope that when you younglings reach this age, you still live by this unnecessary rule of not reading smut about young 20 somethings. 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of people who have enjoyed fanfiction for longer than most of y'all have been alive already feel isolated from kpop and now having writers isolate them further fucking sucks. Fanfiction doesn't have to be this way. It's a hobby people want to enjoy however they want. The whole point is to read and write things that could be potentially taboo or frowned upon irl. It's a form of escapism for many, but now even that feels like it's being gatekept and that's not how fanfiction should be no matter the subject or person in the fic.

when i see criticizing of fandom types and how they havent progressed past a late-highschool fanfiction level writing skill the most common criticism i see thrown back is “oh, so we’re gatekeeping reading now?” or something about inaccessibility and that is probably the worst criticism of people telling you that you need to read higher levels of lit ive ever seen. did you guys fucking forget about libraries?

No one is telling anyone that you need to start analyzing high-level academic literature that is super inaccessible and like 300$ a book when you dont have the skills or money to do so. its a super long and draining task. but like many libraries carry adult level fiction that you can engage with and relate to on a more complex level than whatever 30K slowburn thing you’re reading by someone who is also not a professional writer who has a surface level understanding of the craft on the internet. Most library memberships ive ever seen are super cheap and a lot of places will just let you walk in and read a book without a membership so long as you dont take it with you when you leave.

When people clown on you for like waxing philosophical about this shit in their replies its not just because theyre “haters” its because if you dont actually study how formal language is used when you try to use it you sound like a fucking idiot. like any other skill it shows when the people youre learning from arent professional and come from an exclusively fandom background, and thats fine, you dont have to be a professional, but dont act surprised when people address how you write as unskilled and your reading comprehension as dogshit. you dont learn by absorbing information from people at the same level as you you have to critically engage with complicated thought and setting and story and whatever the fuck

Leave it to Itto to end up with a singular character with unfathomable stats and have no idea how he managed. Kazuha (yes I am biased). I feel like he started simping when he got to see your backstory, or maybe went through your story quest, and all of a sudden he’s going through your voice lines, all your lore and wow your story is so interesting you’re so interesting— he simps and probably has you in his main team but he’s nowhere as intense with it as Itto. Doesn’t mean he’s less of a simp. He reads fanfics but he would never tell another soul.

Albedo. Kind of the same as Kazuha, where he really likes your character and backstory and he kind of just starting enjoying you more

Jean. The strategist. She doesn’t simp as much, but she knows your character has great potential and thinks you’re the perfect addition to her team so she def whaled

Childe. He saw Itto’s Dexter, saw that you could fucking one shot anything and all of a sudden he’s maining you bc you’re a strong ass five star. Started simping along the way. In a “when the fuck did this happen” way he just woke up one day with dexter living rent free in his mind

Ok, i dont have anyone to talk to about the new episode of Loki, so imma dump my thoughts here (please), what are your thoughts?(thank you)

I just wanna say that I aint here to gatekeep or hate on any thought, my feelings and opinions are my own.

Ok, the first thing I gotta say is: why did, whatever moment Loki and Sylvie had, make a nexus? By the TVAs own rules, nothing they did should have made a blip cause they were still on/at an apocalypse.

Next bit is that i dont understand the hardcore leaning the episode had to ship Loki and Sylvie. Like, personally i dont think the ship makes sense, but that aside, why would Loki, a dude who keeps his emotions close to the vest, fall in love with anyone in a 12 hour period. Thats like a fanfic oneshot writing right there.

And even *if* they did have a romantic relationship, why does that matter? Loki has love. He loves his mom, brother, and even jerk face Odin. So platonic love isn't enough? It *has* to be romantic love for it to mean something?

Good on Mobius and 15 for taking a step towards rocking the boat.

And while I did think that the Sif bit was a bit harsh (again being told he is alone AND physical pain), it was nice to see a reference to mythology stories.

I heard rumors that a season two could already be green lit. If its true, i hope Tom can come back so we can have more of his take on the character.

Okay, I'll go through this because I've seen quite a few reactions like yours to this episode, so here are my thoughts and I hope they'll help! ♥

So, I assume that their connection and feelings for one another (whether they're romantic or not) are so strong they could create that Nexus Event. Loki also said that they may lose but never die so maybe that hope and strength also helped with the Nexus event--it was so strong that it actually created a branch even though they were in an apocalypse! But maybe we'll got more information on that in the next episode!

I freaked out about it and I seriously thought he was going to kiss her. It makes sense to me, somehow. While Sylvie is the Goddess of Mischief and hypothetically a Loki Variant, technically she was born as the Goddess of Mischief because of an event that we still don't know about--so there's still some secrets around her character. So what I'm trying to say is that Sylvie has always been her own person and never just a "photocopy" of Loki himself. So technically, just because Mobius claims he fell in love with another version of himself, that doesn't necessarily mean that's 100% what it is.

I don't see what's wrong with fanfic oneshots? 😅 I must say, I don't really like that comparison, love. That makes it sound like fanfiction is some low-quality fangirly work to quench our Loki thirst. You probably didn't mean it that way but MEEEH, I disagree with that comparison completely!

Listen, I completely understand your point. It happened so fast. But you know what? I bought it. 100% I bought it. Maybe that's purely because of Tom's marvellous acting but it's actually more than that. I write romance novels myself and yes, in most cases it doesn't make much sense to have the protagonist(s) fall in love within a day and kiss and live happily ever after. But it always depends on the situation and when I watched the episode I did not once get the feeling "how did this happen so fast". So I sat down and thought about it and the conclusion I came to is the following: Yes, Loki has only known Sylvie for a very short time. But she is the Goddess of Mischief. She is just like him but different. Loki has finally met someone who resonates with him, someone who went through similar things. I feel like part of Loki feels like he has known Sylvie for much longer (and he has because she's ALSO the Goddess of Mischief) which is how he could develop feelings for her so quickly (plus, Loki admitted that this is new to him, that he's never had anything "real"... I think it's overwhelming for him. If Sylvie turns out to be his love interest then it's probably the first time for Loki that he feels this way which also explains his strong reactions). Now I say feelings and I definitely got that romantic vibe from them and it does look like he's in love with her and I'd be SO here for that (if you've seen my reaction to the episode you'll know how excited I was) but ultimately, we don't know yet if this will take off in a romantic direction after all. It might as well be that through Sylvie, Loki finally learns to love himself (not in a narcissistic way--if anything, him "admitting" that he's a narcissist proved how much he struggles with himself; that narcissistic side of him is part of the show, part of the mask he wears to protect himself--and he seems so broken and sad now that he actually started believing it, especially since others, including Mobius, kept telling him that as well; I mean that's just one theory but there's 100% more to Loki believing that he's a narcissist) which would be equally beautiful.

I mean... sure he loves his family but ultimately and even though they all love him back in their very own somewhat twisted way, they are one of the main reasons why Loki suffers so much. Odin treated him like the second fiddle all his life, never told him about his Frost Giant heritage until it was inevitable and Thor? Remember when Loki told him "I remember a shadow, living in the shade of your greatness" in The Avengers? The romance, whether it is one or not, doesn't overpower the plot to me, it's part of Loki's self-discovery. So it's not so much about the "it has to be romantic love" aspect. Loki's family was pretty toxic, you can't deny that. It's about him feeling for a person who accepts him just the way he is (including the fact that Loki himself doesn't quite know what he actually wants) and Frigga (don't get me wrong she's a wonderful mother and I like her very much but she too kept that secret from Loki and helped gaslighting him in TDW, she's not perfect), Odin and Thor all failed to do that. Not to mention that this Loki doesn't have a timeline and is, in fact, COMPLETELY alone. No one he loves is here anymore. So it's not far-fetched that he'd get attached to Sylvie (and fast too), in whatever way that may be.

Mobius and B-15 going against the TVA were a HIGHLIGHT for sure!

I loved that reference too and yes, it was very harsh, I agree on that. Sif acted like he cut off her nose and not her hair, so she must have been REALLY angry.

I thought it was already confirmed? Either way, I am 100% certain there will be more seasons! I mean, it was clear from the beginning to me that if they're making a Loki series, there will be more than one season! 😅
