There's a small TF themed con/artist colony being held in Japan (I'm not too sure where tbh) this weekend and one of the artists just teased a light novel of bayverse humanformers Hide/Ratch that involves them indulging in sweets (being rated 18+ I wonder if the sweets are each other or they enjoy a delicious dessert and then bone) but ohhhhh my god I wish I could teleport overseas and buy a copy!!
The friggin description of the novel even made mention there will be plenty of panting/moaning!

Yuri Doujinshi Publisher Lilyka Holds Labor Day Sale - 25% Off Manga Titles
On Saturday, Lilyka Manga announced that it is holding a Labor Day weekend sale with 25% off all manga. Lilyka primarily publishes independent Yuri comics, working directly with their creators to translate and market them.
Tumblr media
Readers can get the discount by using the code "Labor" at checkout.
Lilyka Manga is an imprint of Digital Manga Inc. In addition to doujinshi Lilyka also sells Yuri visual novels and organizes special limited-run signed shikishi events.
The imprint holds interviews with Yuri mangaka and community members. YuriMother was interviewed by Lilyka in July and discussed some of the platform's top titles:
Mintaro's Lily Fairy Tale series is a must-read, in my opinion. It is a sort of anthology set at a school full of girls from classic fairy tales. Each issue focuses on a different odd pairing of classic characters like Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella and Little Red Cap. Such a creative concept blends these well-known characters and stories with a new Yuri twist and a faint eerie atmosphere, as each character has an inevitable fate. Plus, minatro-sensei's illustrations are adorable and have an enchanting air about them.
I also strongly advocate for Ruri Hazuki's work if you like a more chaotic read. I think I once described her series Saturday as "wild and sloppy." Yet, I find the series oddly charming and incredibly salacious! The idea of a company comprised of women who all constantly flirt and seduce each other with such vigor and frequency that there is a literal chart to keep track of it all is sheerly absurd!
SHWD by sono.N is one of my all-time favorite works, and considering I read Yuri for a living, that is pretty high praise. I love the darker tone and elements of horror in it, particularly in any scene with the Dynamis, which always sends a shudder down my spine. The action scenes with them are always thrilling and spectacularly illustrated. However, the character designs are easily the best part. In Yuri, we get a lot of cute, fluffy romances and slice-of-life series with moe schoolgirls, so it is a welcome change to see some larger, mature women with bludging muscles as they both kick butt and show off their more feminine, delicate side.
Lastly, no discussion of Lilyka's incredible offerings is complete without sincere praise of Alt Hanakage. Although much of the work I know her for is more sultry and, frankly, for that reason, not of much interest to me, her more dramatic and tender Shakaijin Yuri works are spectacular. Senpai no Kouhai, which, as she admitted to Lilyka, was based on her experiences as a lesbian, is so authentic. The reader gets a sense of both women's turmoil and regret, and the manga is so relatable to queer people.
Hanakage-sensei's other work on Lilyka, Ring On My Finger, is an exceptional short letter expressing both the profound love that two women can have for each other and the injustices LGBT people face every day, tailored through the lens of Japan's lack of marriage equality. The manga captures the voice of the queer community, their joys and their sorrows. It nearly brought me to tears. It is so beautiful.
Check out all the titles mentioned and more at a discount as part of Lilyka's Labor Day sale, and read the full interview here: https://www.lilykamanga.com/post/holy-yurimother-the-goddess-of-the-yuri-community

thinking about this one doujinshi preview i saw where honobono called for a cuteness battle between the divisions where whichever team has the cutest member wins, so bb nominated saburo, ramuda nominated himself, as did hifumi (despite doppo saying he thinks jakurai would have represented just fine lol), sasara nominated himself and bat nominated jyushi
and mtc were in utter despair as the resident ‘adult appeal’ division LMAO and this is very true but my counter argument is that busujima mason rio—

Scanlation: Tankoubon Dai-Yon Maki Kinen Shousasshi (new part only)
My English scanlation of the new mini-manga from the MR doujinshi "Vol.4 Sale Anniversary Booklet".
Sorry this took so long! As you'll see, I've only included the previously unpublished part of this doujin (I have a lot of stuff going on🤣).
The rest is made up of release booklets for Vol.4 and Twitter sketches etc. that I've uploaded before. I'll get to including them at some point, but it's fiddly and time consuming.
Read it below or download here or here.

Yuri Manga 'I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl' Released
On March 19, Kodansha Comics released the first volume of Kashikaze's Yuri manga I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl (Ronriigaaru ni Sakaraenai).
Tumblr media
The publisher describes the series:
In this juicy yuri manga, the goody-goody high school girl Sakurai meets a lonely girl—and ends up entangled in a web of blackmail that might just lead to romance. It’s hard to keep up with school when you can never say no to a devious classmate!
The first volume begins when straight-laced high school student Sakurai asks her teacher to write her a recommendation letter. In exchange, Sakurai has to convince truant delinquent Honda to come to school. Sakurai agrees but soon finds that Honda has a deal of her own. For every day Honda attends school, Sakurai must grant her one "wish..."
Tumblr media
I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl was serialized in Comic Yuri Hime from October 2019 until its conclusion in October 2022. Ichiojinsha collected the series in six published volumes in Japanese.
Kashikaze released a follow-up one-shot doujin, Lonely Girl ni Sakaraenai dj—Kekkyoku Sonna Kimi ga Suki, in 2023, following side characters Wakana and Yuina.
The second English volume is scheduled for release on May 28. Diana Taylor translated the manga, with lettering by Belynda Ungurath and editing by Tomoko Nagano.
Check out the first volume of I Can't Say No to the Lonely Girl today digitally and in paperback: https://amzn.to/3TwEOCo

im only capable of handling at most two social media at once this is so sad. been forcing myself to use instagram to promo my merch to locals cuz thats their hotspot and its taking all my mental energy T_T
also a bit of update, for those interested in getting the doujin, ill still be opening a small order for leftover stock somewhere late december/ early january. as well as releasing the pdf sale in january.
however! i also plan open preorder somewhere in february together with my ORV merch. ORV fandom got a better Group Order support so i might be able to get them to reduce shipping cost for the smaller DCMK orders💦 do note however, for february preorder i might only be able to ship somewhere in april to the Group Order Master (GOM). It will first need to reach the GOM before it be shipped to you. so the process in general are slower depending on how fast GOM can ship to you
items i plan to include in february preorder:

**designs might be updated such as clasp and gradient background

Complete FuniFuni Collection!
Tumblr media
After many years of hunting I was finally able to complete my FuniFuni collection! I almost never see these plushies discussed in comparison to Fumos so I thought I'd talk about what I understand about them since the Circle that made them, Phantasm Screen, seems to be completely defunct. The initial run of Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae first showed up in July 2009 and the most "recent" additions, Satori, Orin, Remilia, and Flandre first showed up in August 2010. The only record of legitimate online sales of these plushies I can find is an old entry on Melonbooks for the hanging strap version of Orin from 2010. Some evidence suggests they were sold on Toranoana and at IRL events as well. They were most likely distributed at a few more events and probably at IRL bookstore/doujin shops after the final set was made before the Circle closed up shop. I would reasonably expect that all of these plushies are roughly a decade old, and no more new ones have been made since then. As time has passed it has obviously become more difficult to find online auctions for some of these, you can still find auctions for Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae somewhat often, but the plushies released later don't show up as often since there were fewer distributions of them. The full sized version of Satori was particularly difficult for me to locate, I think I won the only auction for the full sized Satori plush I had seen in 5 years? (For the absurd price of $12 plus shipping.)
These plushies are smaller in comparison to Fumos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my opinion the Funis are generally a bit more detailed than Fumos. More fabric types are used, with a lot of the frills Touhou outfits are known for are made of lace on the Funis versus the satin ribbons that Fumos use.
Additionally, if you'll forgive me for talking about plushie tooshie, Fumos generally stick with the exact same basic design for the area where the plushie sits, but Funis are willing to go into detail even down to the footwear. The bloomers are modeled like actual clothing, and look at Satori's socks and house slippers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's talk about tags. In a world with bootleg Fumos, the presence or absence of a visible tag was probably the first thing people attempting to obtain one were taught to look for. Scalpers are not trying to duplicate Funis for fat stacks of cash so whether or not a Funi has a tag is more of a personal preference, or for a feeling of reassurance. I was able to obtain 12/13 of my Funis with tags, pictured below. (Did you think I was going to let the absence of a tag prevent me from buying the only Satori I had seen in like 7 years?)
Tumblr media
Anyways, I've been hunting these for a long time and I'm very happy to have completed my collection. If you also enjoy Touhou plushies and are annoyed/infuriated with the resale market Fumo prices, and a character you enjoy is available in the limited selection, consider a FuniFuni instead. They are a highly detailed alternative plushie that generally sell for a fraction of the price of a Fumo. If you're interested in picking up any of these cuties you'll have to hunt on auction sites, but with the existence of Buyee now making proxy services easily accessible to most people, it's easier to get Funis for decent prices from JP Yahoo Auction. If anyone else out there is hunting for these I do wish you luck. Anyways, I need to get back to being mad about the fact that there aren't any Shinmyoumaru plushies, or goods in general. See'ya around!

it's interesting how many conventions have opened up over the years specifically to provide more opportunities for doujin sales. with the advent of booth and other reliable year-round salepoints, I'm curious whether we'll eventually see much large-scale market conventions popping up with wider windows
like there's definitely a lot of driving forces behind it, obvious ones being "comiket is kind of insane to physically get inside of nowadays" and "not everyone can afford to travel there" but that's just how it goes

I thought I'd been noticing something weird for a while but today it properly dawned on me - how come there's never been any Minky Momo manga (other than doujin) whatsoever? Other magical girl anime of the time like Creamy Mami would usually get some form of manga adaptation, even if just a volume or two, but despite how important Momo was, I've never been aware of any corresponding manga.
First of all, I just have to say what a thrill it is to receive this question in my Tumblr Ask box. To say that I, too, have spent hours contemplating this would be an understatement, and it’s such a nice feeling to know that other people out there are thinking the same thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So one thing to point out here is that, even though it gets almost no attention at all, there actually has been one official manga associated with Magic Princess Minky Momo (魔法のプリンセス ミンキーモモ). It was called Miracle Dream Minky Momo (みらくる・ドリーム ミンキーモモ) and it was serialized in Second Grader magazine (小学二年生) in 2004 and 2005. The plot was related to the planned structure of a third proposed TV anime that never came to fruition.
The chapters were never collected into a tankouban, which may be a part of why it’s not well remembered. It is mentioned in the Japanese Wikipedia page for Minky Momo, but the reference is very small and not in any of the places you would expect it to be. You can find it if you CTRL+F the Japanese title of the manga though. Another place I’ve seen it referenced is in this tweet, which is also where I pulled the images for this post.
Still, I admit that the short and obscure life of this manga doesn’t actually undercut the original question. It’s odd that there are no other, earlier Minky Momo manga. The only real guess I have is that it’s somehow related to the show’s disappointing toy sales. Maybe when that problem became clear, they decided not to invest in the production of one. Still, that doesn’t explain why none were released in association with the OVAs or the second TV show. It truly is very odd!
