This is Beach Bunny. You may know that they opened up for Panic! at the Disco. I love this shirt because it reminds me of eithe Doctor Manhattan or that robot from the cover of Queen’s “News of the World”.
I also got their vinyl of “Emotional Creature”.

okay, after a couple days to collect my thoughts, here is my official izzytown ranking of beach bunny’s newest album, emotional creature!!!
entropy - 8/10, a great first track to kick off the album. no complaints whatsoever with this song (the lyrics go hard!)
oxygen - 7/10, also love this song, however it does get stuck in my head multiple times a week, so that’s why it’s a lower rating
deadweight - 10/10, currently my favorite song on the album (may change with time, but upon first listen, it’s AMAZING)! i’m a sucker for the little instrumental sections at the end of their songs and this delivered.
gone - 8/10, the drums are great, and it makes me feel like i’m in an indie film.
eventually - 6/10, melody-wise not as catchy, but it’s in my singing range AND the lyrics hit very close to home, so that’s good. a great panic attack anthem
fire escape - 8/10, love this song. feels very classic beach bunny with the guitar riff and how the song is paced, it’s just lovely.
weeds - 9/10, the pacing of the song is GREAT? the lyrics are also wonderfully done and make my artist heart happy
gravity - as this is an instrumental interlude, i won’t rank it. but it’s really great and i love how it breaks up the more upbeat songs and the slower songs. the space vibes are immaculate, it gives heartstopper instrumentals energy
scream - 6/10, not my fav but it’s also pretty nice? the lyrics are very relatable but the melody is very slow (which is fine, but not always what i look for in beach bunny songs). would use this in a mellow background music playlist
infinity room - 7/10, love this song but it’s so SHORT! very relaxing and wish it was longer, dammit
karaoke - 8/10, i love to sing this one (lmao ironic considering the title), and the melody is pretty chill. also an ear worm, which is why it’s been deducted a bit.
love song - 9/10, the chord progression on this song is PHENOMENAL. the lyrics are so artsy and it gives me life. also, the transition into the end of the song with the repeated riff from fire escape ALONG WITH THE LYRICS FROM ENTROPY? iconic. perfect last song on the album!!
overall, this album gets a B+ or an 8/10 overall ranking. not sure if it’s my favorite ep/album they’ve done (looking at you, prom queen ep), but it definitely had plenty of gems and it was worth the wait :)

“Floyd, could you sing to me?”
The big brother looked up from where he was tucking the blanket under Branch’s feet. “Sure thing,” he said with a light smile. “What would you like to hear? A lullaby?”
“I don’t know,” Branch mumbled as he nestled his head into the pillow. “You choose.”
Floyd could still see a crease of worry between his baby brother’s brows. He softly brushed a thumb over it in a silent reassurance that everything was going to be okay before he turned around to reach for their dad’s old guitar.
I think Floyd would often sing to Branch to get him to fall asleep, usually the songs and lullabies their parents sang when the older four were still little.
I know in the movie it seemed like they all left right after their fight, but I like to imagine that they just stormed off to cool off and that they actually left in the following days. And that this was the last song Floyd sang for Branch that night. :')
Both Sides Now (specifically this cover by Voncken)
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They snow and rain on everyone
So many things I would've done
But clouds got in the way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's clouds’ illusions, I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancin' way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughin' as you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions, I recall
I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
But now my friends, they’re acting strange
They shake their heads, and say I've changed
Well, something's lost, but something's gained
In living life each day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down
And give and take
And win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions, I recall
I really don't know life...
I really don't know life at all
