Does anyone else's heart physically hurt from reading angst?
Not metaphorically. Not figuratively.
It literally hurts. Like there's a sinking pit in your chest and it's sore.
Tumblr media
My stomach churns a lot when I read smth gross or stressful. Hell, I threw up a total of 6 times writing GEM (so far). But to feel my chest ache so bad, it's concerning--

i feel like writing a story about the US getting invaded by russia instead of Ukraine-- in order to smack people in the face with the truth. maybe they would care if it were Americans.
--we could see what russians do from a first person POV. stories create empathy. sneak into people's hearts and create imagery they can't get out of their heads and make them feel possibly against their will, if they have feelings left.
of course I would like to show stories of Ukraine, but I don't know it well enough to write from their POV.
I want to uplift their stories somehow, but i want to do something as a fiction writer
attack people's emotions before the election, perhaps sway some people.
scream at them, DON'T YOU SEE?
don't you feel. how can you be war weary after a year when you haven't even been at war.
when Ukrainians are going through the worst things possible.
we can't let russia win. any more than it were USA.

Soooo. A question.
Am I/Would I Be considered a bad person if I have little to no empathy, and have a very hard time showing sympathy for others. I don't even know where I stand w compassion either also.
like. Does that inherently make me evil or some shit lmao

Coming to the realisation that "regular everyday people" don't question if they even have empathy and what that means.
#realising that I've never really felt empathy.#more so just known how to act. what should be said.#it's not that i don't care. i don't care. but it's more than that. i don't care in a sense i can't feel shit#but i care in a sense. i wouldn't want my girlfriend or best friend to be sad. for example.#it's more than i can explain.#if my relative died. i wouldn't feel anything. even if i was 'close' to them.#seeing my mother upset was sad. i didn't like she was upset. but i couldn't understand why she was feeling like that.#i only know by association that's how people feel towards those situations#time and time over things like it happen and part of me thinks. maybe if someone i really cared about died. i would feel that.#but would i?#someone i considered a gran. I'd known all my life. i didn't cry. never did any feeling set in.#when i passed exams. i didn't feel happiness. it was indifference#when I had my first breakup. i didn't cry. whilst my ex cried for weeks on end....#i feel shit. of course i do. but. it's more. feelings without aim? i don't know.#loneliness. depression. and all the alike if i haven't interacted with my favourite person for a day+#those are feelings. and i fucking feel them as if they've all been amplified#but do i feel love? this is my 3rd relationship. each and every time- it's like i don't have the ability to#or maybe i do. just not conventionally. maybe that's the catch.#whatever it is. I'm more and more convinced by the day. maybe there is truth in what I've been told by family and exfriends#i don't feel empathy.#I've just managed to mask my whole life...#i feel so much yet i feel so little.#vent tag

I noticed that in some pictures, sans' eyes are another color. Does that mean anything? Are monsters capable of any color of magic?
It indeed does have a meaning! A very powerful one :3
As we already know, monsters in RivenTale got robbed off their souls and were left blank... Wandering around with no meaning, magic nor purpouse...
While humans on the other hand, not only maintained their old souls, but also developed additional traits. Each color represents a different soul.
After a few good months of friendship with the skeleton brothers, a young woman, Alice... Discovered something that might completely change the way of the world...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more below the cut-
The monsters, though soulless, could find fulfillment through a unique bond with humans... by bonding a soul with a human or receiving a shard from a human soul, monsters could replace their non-existing souls with a connection that brought about emotions and vitality.
Emotional Awakening:
The most immediate impact of the human-monster bond is the awakening of emotions within the monster. Where there was once emptiness and a lack of feeling, the monster begins to experience a range of emotions such as joy, love, empathy, and even sorrow. This emotional awakening is a crucial aspect of the bond, allowing the monster to understand and appreciate the complexities of the human experience.
Increased Vitality:
The connection to a human soul infuses the monster with a newfound vitality. Energy that was once drawn solely from consuming human souls is now supplemented by the shared connection, providing the monster with sustenance and strength. This newfound vitality allows the monster to use their magic once again.
Enhanced Magical Abilities:
The human soul, with its innate magic, has a catalyzing effect on the monster's magical abilities. The bond amplifies the monster's inherent magical talents, enabling them to tap into a broader spectrum of magical powers. This enhancement not only strengthens the monster's defenses but also opens up new possibilities.
Empowerment Through Trust:
Trust is a fundamental component of the bond, and as the monster places its trust in the human, and vice versa, both parties become empowered. This mutual trust serves as a source of strength, allowing the monster to break free from the shackles of its past existence and the need to consume human souls for sustenance.
Transformation of Physical Appearance:
In some cases, the bond may lead to a transformation in the monster's physical appearance. This change is symbolic of the internal metamorphosis occurring within the monster. The once foreboding and soul-hungry creature may take on a gentler, more harmonious form that reflects the newfound unity between humans and monsters.

The Power of Intuition: Developing Your Psychic Abilities.
🌟✨
Intuition is a powerful gift that we all possess. It's the inner knowing, the gut feeling, the psychic sense that guides us. Whether you're new to exploring your intuitive abilities or looking to enhance them, here are some exercises and tips to help you tap into the magic of your own intuition.
🌟✨
1. Meditation for Clarity 🧘‍♂️🌌
Take time each day to meditate. Clear your mind, focus on your breath, and allow your intuition to surface. The more you practice, the more in tune you become with your inner wisdom.
2. Trust Your Gut Feeling 🤔💭
Start small by listening to your gut instincts in everyday situations. Trust that inner voice when making decisions. Over time, this will strengthen your intuitive muscle.
3. Tarot and Oracle Cards 🔮🃏
Experiment with divination tools like Tarot or Oracle cards. These can be excellent tools for honing your intuitive skills. Draw a card daily and interpret its message based on your intuition.
4. Dream Journaling 🌙📓
Keep a dream journal by your bedside. Record your dreams as soon as you wake up. Often, dreams contain intuitive insights and symbolism that can be deciphered over time.
5. Practice Empathy and Active Listening 👂❤️
Empathize with others and practice active listening. Tuning into their emotions and thoughts can help you fine-tune your intuitive abilities.
6. Nature Connection 🌿🌳
Spend time in nature. The natural world has its own intuitive energy. Take walks, sit quietly, and observe. Nature can amplify your intuitive senses.
7. Develop Your Third Eye Chakra 🧘‍♀️👁️
Work on balancing and opening your third eye chakra through meditation and visualization exercises. This energy center is often associated with intuition.
8. Trust the Process 🌟🌈
Remember, developing intuition takes time and patience. Trust in your own unique journey. Your intuition is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it becomes.
9. Seek Guidance 🤝🌠
Consider seeking guidance from experienced intuitives or psychics. They can offer insights and techniques based on their own experiences.
10. Keep a Journal of Intuitive Experiences 📔✨
Document your intuitive experiences in a journal. This helps you track your progress and learn from your insights.
🌟✨
Your intuition is a valuable compass on your life's journey. Embrace it, nurture it, and allow it to illuminate your path. The more you connect with your intuition, the more you'll discover the profound wisdom that resides within you.
Embrace the magic of your intuition, and let it lead you toward a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.

Crafting Sad Scenes: Writing Tears and Emotional Depth
Tumblr media
Creating authentic emotions is vital for immersive storytelling, which is why I decided to make this series on how to write different emotions. After exploring rage, it's now time to delve into sadness!
When it comes to portraying sadness, delving into various aspects of your character's behaviour and environment can deepen the emotional impact. Here's a guide on how to evoke sadness in your writing using different elements:
Facial Expressions
Downcast Eyes and Furrowed Brow: Describe how their eyes lower and brows crease, reflecting inner sorrow or distress.
Quivering Lips or Trembling Chin: Note the subtle quivers in their lips or chin, indicating emotional vulnerability or the effort to hold back tears.
Pained or Distant Gaze: Highlight a gaze that's distant, unfocused, or filled with inner turmoil, showing their emotional detachment or deep sadness.
Tear-Streaked or Reddened Eyes: Mention tear tracks or reddened eyes, portraying recent or suppressed crying, enhancing the visual impact of their sadness.
Hollow Cheeks and Sunken Eyes: Describe physical changes like hollow cheeks or sunken eyes, reflecting fatigue, despair, or prolonged emotional distress.
Body Language and Gestures
Slumped Shoulders and Hunched Posture: Show their dejected stance with slumped shoulders and a hunched posture, conveying a sense of heaviness or defeat.
Fidgeting or Clasping Hands: Detail how they fidget nervously or clasp their hands tightly, indicating inner turmoil or a need for comfort.
Absentminded Touching of Face or Hair: Mention absentminded gestures like touching their face or running fingers through their hair, reflecting introspection or sadness.
Slow or Listless Movements: Describe their movements as slow, lethargic, or lacking energy, mirroring their emotional state of sadness.
Avoiding Eye Contact or Retreating: Highlight how they avoid eye contact or retreat from interactions, seeking solitude or trying to mask their emotions.
Dialogue and Inner Monologue
Subdued or Monotone Speech: Show their dialogue as subdued, with a monotone delivery or pauses, conveying emotional restraint or inner pain.
Expressing Regret, Loss, or Longing: Use dialogue to express their regrets, sense of loss, or longing for something or someone, adding depth to their sadness.
Internal Conflicts and Self-Reflection: Delve into their inner monologue, revealing their conflicts, doubts, or self-reflection, showcasing the complexity of their emotional journey.
Using Metaphors or Symbolic Language: Incorporate metaphors or symbolic language in their dialogue or thoughts, enhancing the poetic or introspective nature of their sadness.
Environmental Cues and Setting
Bleak or Desolate Settings: Set scenes in bleak or desolate environments, such as abandoned places or dimly lit spaces, amplifying the sense of isolation or melancholy.
Rainy Weather or Gray Skies: Describe rainy weather, gray skies, or somber atmospheres, mirroring their emotional state and adding a reflective tone to the setting.
Diminished Colors or Lack of Vibrancy: Use descriptions of muted colors or a lack of vibrancy in the surroundings, reflecting the character's subdued mood and emotional depth.
Actions and Reactions
Withdrawing from Interactions: Show them withdrawing from social interactions, seeking solitude, or avoiding activities they once enjoyed, highlighting their emotional withdrawal.
Seeking Comfort Objects or Routines: Describe how they turn to comfort objects or routines, such as listening to music, writing, or engaging in familiar activities, as coping mechanisms.
Emotional Outbursts or Sudden Changes: Portray occasional emotional outbursts, sudden changes in behavior, or moments of vulnerability, revealing layers of their sadness.
Impact on Relationships and Interactions: Explore how their sadness affects their relationships and interactions with others, showcasing the dynamics of empathy, support, or misunderstanding.
Types of Tears and Emotional Triggers
Watery Eyes: These tears often accompany moments of deep emotional pain, such as hearing hurtful words, experiencing profound disappointment, or feeling overwhelmed by sadness. Characters may blink rapidly or struggle to maintain eye contact as tears well up, indicating their struggle to contain their emotions.
Quiet Tears: Quiet tears are silent and discreet, often shed in moments of solitude or introspection. They may occur when a character reflects on past memories, grapples with internal conflicts, or experiences a poignant realization. These tears are a subtle yet powerful expression of inner turmoil.
Full-On Sobs: Full-on sobs involve audible crying, heaving breaths, and visible emotional distress. They typically arise from intense grief, loss, physical pain, or overwhelming stress. Characters may find it challenging to speak coherently or control their emotions during such outbursts, revealing the depth of their emotional turmoil.
Tears of Joy: Tears of joy occur in moments of immense happiness, relief, or heartfelt connection. They often accompany scenes of reunions, achievements, or profound expressions of love and gratitude. These tears symbolize emotional release and the overwhelming experience of positive emotions.
Tears of Empathy: Characters may shed tears of empathy when witnessing others' suffering or hearing poignant stories. These tears reflect their compassion, sensitivity, and ability to deeply connect with the emotions of others, adding layers of empathy to their characterization.
Writing Prompts and Exercises
Write a scene where your character experiences a sudden wave of sadness in a public setting, struggling to conceal their emotions.
Craft a dialogue between two characters, one trying to comfort the other who is deeply saddened by a personal loss or disappointment.
Describe a setting that reflects the mood of sadness, using sensory details to evoke emotions and create atmosphere.
Explore a character's inner monologue as they reflect on past regrets or missed opportunities, expressing their profound sense of sadness.
Create a symbolic object or motif in your story that represents your character's journey through sadness, using it as a recurring theme for emotional depth.
Incorporating these elements can enrich your narrative and evoke powerful emotions in your readers, fostering a deeper connection to your characters and their emotional journeys.
