Fomorian giants appear to be walking collections of almost randomly mismatched body parts (Looks like a Jeff Easley, AD&D module S4: The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, by Gary Gygax, TSR, 1982)

The Fomorian, Fiends Plaguing Ancardia
"No. Not a Giant. The Faytun normally look, well," he paused, licking dry lips, "of this world.
"This is worse."
The dwarf embodied caution as she peeked once more, moving millimeter by millimeter cat-like around the stone arch. It was certainly giant, in size at least. It seemed to have temporarily forgotten the reason it had crashed through the door and sent splinters pirouetting around the stalagmites and black-leaved nettles, and now shambled awkwardly to the center. Air hissed through its exposed, brick-like teeth, yellowed like a pipe-smoker of venerable years, long and sickle-shaped and protruding from a mouth that had only the rough idea of a mouth, with the toothy details jammed in at the last minute. Pale lamp eyes scanned the open regions, and in slightly opposing directions. The ground rattled as it rounded a stand of vegetation on feet that could not quite decide if they wanted to be primate or pachyderm, and on legs that had very much decided to be treetrunks built out of dull, silvery sinew, raw flesh, and a thin layer of stretched pallid, spongey skin. Veins laced across it; these were the only sure, consistent details of the thing.
"It's one of those," Jassol whispered. His fingers danced over the grip on his falchion, sizing it up. "Just bigger. You back me up with some kind of fire, and I bet we can get past just this one..."
Aumora opened her mouth to protest, but then thought better of it. It seemed to her this fiend was particularly slow, and she'd seen nothing more appropriate so far that made her want to employ explosive combustion. Preferably, while she remained well out of its ghastly reach.
--------------------
Fomorians are LARGE stagnatic fiends in the Ancardian Homebrew, and one of the serious early-ADOM creatures that can shatter doors. I looked up the Irish mythology and it seemed apt to make these a class of messed-up fiend, since they largely seem to either be malicious earth and water spirits, or some mythological projection of Viking raiders.

Re-dsesigned Balor back in 20222 to look more like a god of death, winter and the harvest and it's much closer to his current and final design. (Still tweaking his outfit). But I took away the horns because it's not in the myths and detracted from his cursed eye and the rest of his design. The skull torc also felt like a bit too much and was tedious to draw. I feel like he'll at least be consistently recognizable design wise now :3

Branded by Giants
Ivor Stormbrand - Duergar - Rune Knight - Giant Founding/Rune Carver (If either is allowed) - Chaotic/Good?
Was a Fomorian Slave alongside some other dwarves. Fomorians named them after stone, and they turned that into names for themselves. Had no clan so they formed their own. Escaped with two other dwarves. One was recaptured, got separated from the second. Jumped off a cliff into a river to evade pursuit. Broke his legs but washed up on shore. Probably cared for in a small village? Someone saved his stupid ass. Name ideas: Basalt = Sal or Saul. Granite = Grant. Giant's Might + Enlarge stacks. Order of operations important. Giant's Might changes your size to Large, then Enlarge which increases your size one category.
There were other dwarves there, but they were probably too old, too young, or too cowed to escape? He's out in the world searching both for the dwarf he was separated from, and help to free the rest of the clan. Not many people want to fight Fomorians.
Runebrand Clan. They're all named after a type of Giant + Brand. Each of them is actually branded with a rune. Hill runes are for labourers and the Fomorians use it to claim a slave is too stupid for anything but simple jobs. Fire is for the cooks, hearth tenders, etc. Cloud runes are how they brand "liars", and Storm is for "troublemakers".

the celtic gods
please note that sometimes history gets blended with stories created by neopagan groups, and it's above my pay grade to know what is what
the creation myth of the irish is pretty much lost to time, but as far as I can piece together where the land and the sea met, a horse named Eioch emerged from sea foam. nearby a hearty tree grew which Eioch fed upon, and this tree may have been Cerunnos (not many sources exist to corroborate this). jealous of the giants (who created the earth) that were many in number, Cerunnos and Eioch procreated to create the gods
CERUNNOS: irish god of nature, life, and fertility. associated with horned animals
the clan of Tuatha De Danann
DANU/ANU/ANANN: the matriarch of Tuatha de Danann (literally meaning "the people of the goddess Danu"), she is the irish goddess of regeneration, wisdom (since the Tuatha de Danann themselves were crafty), and sovereignty
THE DAGDA: son of Elatha (a Fomorian king) and possibly Ethniu, a triple god and one chief of Tuatha de Danann, god of life and death, the seasons, magic, and agriculture
BRIGID: daughter of Dagd, irish goddess of healing, fire/metalworking, and poetry
AENGUS/OENGUS: son of Dagd, irish god of love, beauty, summer, youth, and inspiration
MIDIR: son of the Dagd, although his name may mean "judge," some stories say he crafted the rivers and lakes
ERNMAS: her name refers to death by weapons
THE MORRIGAN: daughter of Ernmas, a triple goddess and the other chief of Tuatha de Danann, irish goddess of war, death, prophecy and ravens. her aspects are often considered Badb, Macha, and Nemain/Anand/Eea
ERIU: sometimes considered a daughter of Ernmas, goddess of Ireland (Ireland is derived from her name) and sovereignty
BRES: son of Eriu and Elatha (of the Fomorians), he was an unpopular king of Tuatha de Danann since he often gave preferential treatment to the Fomorians
BANBA: sometimes considered a daughter of Ernmas, goddess of Ireland
FODLA: sometimes considered a daughter of Ernmas, goddess of Ireland
LUGH/LUGUS: son of Ethniu (of the Fomorians) and Cian (of Tuatha de Danann), irish god of nobility, warriors, crafts, oaths, justice and sometimes light or the sun. he kills Balor at the battle of Mag Tuired
NUADA: the first king of Tuatha de Danann, irish god of fairness, justice, and honesty
OGMA: son of Elatha (of the Fomorians), irish god of language, eloquence, and learning
DIAN CECHT: irish god of healing and medicine, Tuatha de Danann's healer. father of Cian and grandfather of Lugh
GOIBNIU: irish god of craft, metalsmith for the Tuatha de Danann
the clan of the Fomorians, who fought to take over Ireland,
DOMNU: irish goddess of the abyss, or deep sea. patron goddess of the Fomorians
INDECH: irish son of Domnu, sometimes king of the Fomorians, other times just a warrior
BALOR: a giant cyclops that is usually considered the chief of the Fomorians. it is his death, at the hands of his grandson Lugh, that creates a time of peace and prosperity in Ireland
CAITLIN/CETHLENN: wife of Balor, a prophet
ELATHA/EALADHA: a king of the Fomorians, son of Balor and Caitlin, perhaps a god of the sun
ETHNIU: daughter of Balor and by some sources, irish goddess of the North Star
gods associated with the underworld,

CERRIDWEN: welsh goddess of the underworld, a shapeshifting witch and prophet
MANANNAN/MANAWYDAN: welsh god of the sea and guardian of the underworld
and the rest,
MATH AP MATHONWY: brother of Don, god of magic, sorcery and enchantment. created Blodeuwedd for a man, and turned her into an owl when she became unfaithful
BELI: welsh god of fire, death, and darkness
DON: welsh equivalent of Danu, the mother goddess. there is another welsh god by this name who is considered the god of the dead
GOVANNON: son of Beli and Don, welsh god of blacksmithing and crafts

Tired of the same ole' creatures munching on your preys? Need some ideas for a new pred oc? Then you've found the right post!
Welcome to Carn is a nerd and knows a lot of man eating monsters!
Starting off with the classics, we've got: Giants, werewolves, naga, and dragons! Might I suggest different kinds of giants! We have a variety: cloud, frost, fire, storm, and hill and all the others from that lovely tabletop game, but have you heard of Fomorians? Next off, werewolves! Gotta love them, but maybe you're a tad tired of the wolfish features? What's stopping you from making any other kind of lycanthrope! Weretiger? Wereshark (may he rest in peace)? Werecroc? Heck, anything can be a wonderful pred cursed to transform under the moonlight.
Moving on, let's mention some new ones! Ghouls, a creepy undead creature that devours flesh of both dead and living! Driders, a wonderfully terrifying mixture of human and spider! Or what of their lesser known, equally scary, and quite naga-esk friends: Oomukade! A human upperhalf with the long body of a Centipede?
Taking from my own pfp, a Peryton! Mixture of bird and stag with a penchant for human hearts! Another goodie, Oni! ogre-esk Yo/kai that, while some may be good, also have a craving for humans! Slimes are always a good choice: so many fun colors and so malleable!
Vampiric creatures are always fun, but there's a million different ones! From Aswang and Pennanengal more gruesome ones, to Jiangshi the hopping vampire and Baku the nightmare eaters!
Special shout out to Yara-Ma-Yha-Who that are literally small red men that devour humans whole!
Rakshasa are tiger-men with backward hands known to eat people!
Dinosaurs, especially the carnivorous ones? Top tier. Didn't chew. Along that line, pterodactyls and pelicans? Birds like to eat prey whole.
Don't forget Mimics! A shapeshifting creature hidden in plain sight? And merfolk! Can't imagine a hungry shark mer would pass up some prey, now would they?
The Hydra? Many heads=many mouths. I'm just saying.
Bottom line is, many things can make good preds.
I suggest looking into mythology, our ancestors created a lot of monsters that like to eat people. Just make sure to learn about the creatures you're using.
And as for animal preds, I always make them humanoid or have the ability to transform into the creature- (having straight up animal preds might be considered kinda weird, especially if sexualized and I do not condone.)
I'll probably do another of these, listing off more creatures good for vore potential another time - there's plenty more.

I just really like the aesthetics of a giant, moving eye in a pendant. A lot of people would not, I understand. Which is why it creeps them out so much you have disadvantage using it in DnD.
Fomorian Eye Pendant
Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)
“A massive, bulging eye from a Fomorian is encased in a sphere of glass. The eye is bloodshot and swivels and moves constantly. The sight of it is off-putting and turns the stomach of most who notice, but there’s a terrifying power to it that few can harness.”
While wearing this pendant you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight and disadvantage on all Charisma skill checks.
You can use an action to magically force a creature you can see within 60 feet of you to make a DC 14 Charisma saving throw. The creature takes 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You can force the creature to make the save at disadvantage, but you become blinded until the end of your next turn. Once you’ve used this feature you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

The Legend of Balor of the Evil Eye
Irish Mythology
Vol 3
Balor
In the ancient days of Ireland, when gods and monsters roamed the land, there lived a fearsome giant named Balor. His very name struck terror into the hearts of mortals and immortals alike. Balor was no ordinary giant; he was a king among the Fomorians, a race of malevolent beings who thrived on chaos and darkness.
Balor’s appearance was as imposing as his reputation. Towering and broad-shouldered, he moved with a deliberate heaviness that shook the earth beneath his feet. But it was his eye—the infamous Evil Eye—that set him apart. This eye, nestled within its cavernous socket, held a power beyond comprehension. When Balor opened it, disaster followed. Crops withered, rivers dried up, and even the hardiest warriors quaked in fear.
The eye was not merely a physical organ; it was a conduit for malevolence. Its gaze could scorch the earth, turn forests to ash, and curse entire villages. Legends whispered that it had once laid waste to an entire battlefield, reducing armies to dust with a single glance. But opening the eye was no simple task. It required the strength of four warriors to lift the heavy lid, each gripping the iron ring attached to it.
Balor ruled the Fomorians from the Isles of the North, where storms raged perpetually, and the sea churned with fury. His wife, the enigmatic Cethlenn, stood by his side, equally formidable. Together, they plotted dark deeds and reveled in chaos. Their dominion extended over treacherous waters and desolate cliffs, where the cries of lost sailors echoed.
But fate had other plans. The Tuatha Dé Danann, a race of divine beings, challenged the Fomorians. Among them was Lugh, a warrior of unmatched skill and cunning. Lugh’s lineage was intertwined with that of Balor—he was Balor’s grandson. Yet, destiny had set them on opposing paths.
As the Battle of Mag Tuired loomed, Lugh prepared for the ultimate confrontation. Armed with a sling and a single stone, he faced the giant. Balor’s eye narrowed, its malevolence focused on the young warrior. But Lugh was no ordinary mortal. With precision and courage, he hurled the stone. It pierced Balor’s eye, exiting the other side, and the giant stumbled backward.
The Evil Eye’s power dissipated, leaving Balor vulnerable. Lugh seized the moment, striking down the giant. The earth trembled as Balor fell, his malevolence extinguished. The Fomorian king’s reign of terror ended, and light triumphed over darkness.
And so, the tale of Balor of the Evil Eye became a cautionary legend—a reminder that even the most formidable foes could be defeated by courage, wit, and the love of kin.
Remember this story, for it echoes through the ages, teaching us that even in the darkest of times, heroes rise to challenge the malevolence that threatens our world.

My idea for a ‘Finale’ Trilogy to cap off the ‘God of War’ franchise
The first two games of my ‘Finale’ Trilogy would be split between Kratos and Atreus, each one getting a game of their own. Kratos’ game would be about Kratos, the new All-Father, and Freya traveling to the east to gain an alliance with the Egyptian pantheon to help them rebuild the now Eight Realms after Ragnarok, especially because Midgard is currently under siege by a legion of foreign soldiers who seem awfully familiar to Kratos.
While there, they get embroiled in the story of the contendings between Horus and Set, agreeing to aid Horus against Set in exchange for his alliance against this foreign legion that is now in the midst of conquering Midgard. Eventually, Kratos’ game ends with the return of Ares, now resurrected into his Roman counterpart Mars, teaming up with Set to take revenge against Kratos.
Meanwhile, Atreus’ game would take place around the same time as Kratos’ game, where he and Angrboda travel to the ‘Emerald Island’, what will eventually become known as Ireland, to look into the possibility that the Fomorians of Irish legend and the Giants that fled Jotunheim are in fact one and the same.
While there, they meet a young Cu Chulainn, still going by the name Setanta, and get caught up in the story of his ballad. Things get complicated when it’s revealed that the Queen Maeve of Cu Chulainn’s ballad is none other than Athena, reincarnated into Minerva and taking a false identity to track down Atreus as part of a larger scheme, as well as pave the way for a larger scale invasion of Ireland by the Roman legion.
Eventually, Minerva escapes Ireland as Cu Chulainn falls in the final battle of his ballad, entrusting his spear, the Gae Bolg, to Atreus.
Both games end with Kratos and Atreus making an alliance with the respective pantheons of the lands they travel to and making the decision to travel to the home of these new Roman Gods to take the fight to them.
The final game of this trilogy, and indeed, the final God of War game, has Kratos and Atreus reunite in Rome with all of their gathered allies to break the phalanx of the Roman legion and defeat the new leader of the Roman Pantheon. A reincarnated Helios, now known as the great Emperor Sol Invictus, who has some serious beef to settle with Kratos.

On the painting desk... feels like I'm not making any progress. But I'm also busy doing another non minipainting related project. Perhaps I should post some of that too.

Ogma, Warrior god of language and intelligence. He forms a trinity with his brother the Dagda and Lugh to form the ‘three gods of skill’. Ogma is responsible for the creation of Ogham, the ancient writing system used by the Irish. Wielding a club, Ogma fought in the Tuatha Dé’s battle against the Firbolg, the first humans. However when both the Tuatha Dé and Firbolg were enslaved by the Fomorians Ogma was forced to carry firewood endlessly. When the two factions finally had enough they gathered to discuss a rebellion, the meeting was interrupted by the arrival of the god Lugh who wished to join. Ogma tested him by throwing a giant boulder over the horizon, Lugh responded by catching the stone before throwing it right back to Ogma. In the battle against the Fomorians Ogma slayed a third of their army. After the war Ogma, the Dagda, and Lugh went on a journey to take back the Dagda’s stolen harp.
Ogma is heavily associated with the Gaulish deity Ogmios, as both are warrior gods of language and eloquence. Ogma was referred to by the Roman’s under the name Heracles as a sort of romanization of the deity, trying to associate him with another Roman figure.

Issue with the portrayal of the Fomorians
I wish primary sources on the Fomorians were more available.
According to the internet and some books...😅... they are said to dwell under the sea, come from under the earth, be giants or monsters, and are compared to the Titans/purposed to be the gods before the Tuatha. They're called sea raiders or pirates.
But in the LGE, First Battle of Moytura, and Cath Maige Tuired they seem like regular people like the Tuatha de Danann.
Where did all these ideas of their nature and appearance come from?
They just seem like a regular tribe living on Islands off the coast of Ireland.
Not to mention, in the LGE, they are portrayed as having the same ancestors as the Tuatha de Danann.

Hey so after I got home from work I immediately passed out and I wasn’t able to complete it until now so… sorry about that
btw throughout typing all of this I was imagining you playing with me while a rambled. Holding a wand against me or just using your fingers, making me feel so good as long as I keep talking and being good for you :3
So the D&D campaign I’m currently in the process of world building is based on the Mythos of the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, the four horsemen being Conquest, Famine, War, and Death. The entire story takes place in the world of Strinamora, also called The Torn Lands. Three continents construct the world, two large continents separated by a long canal stretching the full length of both landmasses, giving them an appearance resembling a pair of lungs. The third continent is the only one I’ve written out so a lot of this ramble will be about that.
The third continent is a smaller landmass to the north and a bit to the west. The land is based on Ireland and is controlled by the horseman Famine. The continent itself is called Isle Gorta Mór (Gorta Mór being the Gaelic term for the great Irish potato famine) and contains three nations within it. These three nations are Solfege, Aswin, and Traedahl. Solfege is the southernmost nation and has severely been impacted by the famine plaguing the land. Solfege does have the benefit of being the closest to the mainland of the other two continents, allowing it to mildly sustain itself through exports, though they are struggling to do so since their economy was agriculturally based and the majority of their crops are affected by The Blight (basically the potato blight but affecting more types of crops and consuming it makes the person who ate it violently ill). Solfege also struggles with the massive influx of migrants from Traedahl as they attempt to flee towards a different continent and presumably a better life (we’ll get to Traedahl soon). Aswin is between the other two counties and is generally the least affected by the Blight. Aswin is a territory of the Dirasite Empire and has the benefit of frequent exports and financial aid, as well as a manufacturing based economy which allows it to continue functioning fairly normally. Traedahl is the country most affected by the famine, having been entirely agriculturally based and generally the poorest. Its population has lately been free falling as people get increasingly sick from having to eat Blighted crops and from a mass migration of people looking for a way out. Traedahl is also home to the Caudic Islands, a pair of islands far off the east coast of the nation that have been mostly unaffected by the famine. They have been a fishing based society for centuries, so an agricultural famine barely affects them, and they used to send excess food to Traedahl where they could, but those exports have recently and inexplicably stopped, no scouts have returned to give and answer.
While Famine controls Isle Gorta Mór, he doesn’t do it publicly. Each horseman has a human disguise to hide in plain sight, and Famine’s is Dr. Eminaf (famine backwards :3), a charismatic plague doctor who provides free care to the poor and the ill. Eminaf is typically located in Traedahl but does travel often, occasionally disappearing entirely for days on end. There are some rumors that he has shady underground dealings with various country leaders, though no proof has ever been found.
Isle Gorta Mór, being based off Ireland, has many encounters and side quests based on Irish mythos. Things like Fear Gorta (famine zombie), The Oilliphéist (giant sea serpent), the Fomorians (while D&D does have its own Fomorians, those aren’t very true to the original mythos, so I made my own. Those being drowned knights emerging from the sea, riding kelpies, and attacking coastal villages), and the Dullahan (the headless horseman).
And for the most part, that’s all I really have. I plan to base the horseman of War off the character Apollyon from the game For Honor, as she is a terrifying villain that fits the personification of War perfectly. I also have it that Death herself doesn’t specifically control any land, but since she rules over the other horsemen, she controls everything. She’s also a very sick and sadistic woman that, instead of guiding souls as they pass or claiming them for herself, finds more enjoyment in watching those souls suffer (and that will be very relavent in my next ramble about the story my friend and I made for the creature I mentioned yesterday. I’m making that separate because this is already so very long)
-🐦‍⬛
(Also sorry it took me so long to get to this. I wanted to give you a good response.)
I would love to play with you and make you try to ramble all this again. Speeding up my fingers just to make you moan and stutter, making you repeat yourself. "Sorry, I couldn't understand you, could you repeat that?"
(This is probably going to be train of thought notes lmao)
Now being not horny, I love ideas based off the four horsemen. Horsemen characters are like my favorite (love the headless horseman so so much). I'm normally not super interested in map stories, but this is genuinely sick.
Oooo, I love the Gaelic to tie the continent to Famine. More sick names. Potatoes. I love how deep the lore of each nation is, like how you thought of how each would be affected by the Blight and famine stuff. You thought of exports???? Dude, this is is sick. Fish and dead (missing?) scouts.
Yo, Famine sick. Atleast he tries to helps those that need it. Imma find proof of those shady dealings.
MYTHOLOGY, I LOVE MYTHOS. Though I don't know much Irish myths, but kelpies are cool. Oh my god I didn't even see the mention of the headless horseman here 💀. This is genuinely my reactions while I read it.
I'm not super familiar with the game For Honor or the character Apollyon (but pictures look cool). I have no idea what Death looks like but my brain is picturing basically Mother Miranda (RE8) so she can step on me.
Excited for next ramble. Just might take me a few days cause I got real bad ADHD lmao.
