Russell Adler x Foreign!Reader Headcanons
Requested by @whimsywispsblog! Thank you for being so patient, I apologize for the wait! [more undercut]
Adler met you on an undercover op, where he was under the semblance of a frequent bar patron right in the suburbs of West Berlin, in which the target owned
He doesn't think much upon seeing you the first time he visits, as you were most likely another average citizen
Though, after the third or so day of coming to the bar, you approach him, talking in German: "What brings you here so often? You're always sitting alone."
"Just passing by."
"Daily?"
Adler will try not to talk much, so you would need to lead the conversations most of the time, but it didn't seem to bother you but eventually found himself speaking a bit about the states after you discovered that he wasn't from around here. He really didnt need to reminisce about it, but it was a nice thing to be reminded what he would return home to
Being alone at night and gathering information at some bar would have gotten mundane anyway without your company
When he returns back to the U.S. he'll send you letters when he's off duty if he remembers, but they wont have a return address on it, nor will he sign his letters, just for your safety. Its usually post cards or small keychains from all over
Whenever Adler has time to himself he sometimes daydreams wondering what you would be doing that moment
Sims calls him out on it
Kind of finds things that remind him of you. Would you like it? Have you ever heard of so-and-so?
He can't exactly call you for a multitude of reasons, so Adler finds himself forgetting your voice and it kind of alarms him
When a mission calls for him to go W. Berlin once again, first thing he does it head straight to the bar
Adler doesn’t admit it, but he’s a bit whipped over you, and it annoys him to a degree seeing how much you managed to take a hold of him
even if both met in some German bar
if words gets out about it he knows the team wouldn’t let him hear the end of it, so he tries his best to keep it on a down low
