It's quite dystopian reading about 20 yrs olds struggling financially and yet begging for top surgery funds on GoFundMe.
The stories all have the same narrative:
"I've felt uncomfortable with my breasts since puberty,I'm in constant pain due to binding and with this surgery I will finally live as my true self"
Somehow I doubt it.
Instead of working on WHY you are feeling discomfort over body parts and learning to love em,that there's nothing wrong with them, young adults are being told that to ease their pain they must get rid of them.
20 is such a delicate age, you're an adult but you are still immature and your brain hasn't even finished developing yet.
Let's be real.
It's despicable to make profit from people's insecurities,I see no difference between gender affirming "care" and cosmetic surgeries.

I'm sending everyone who sees this some mad gender euphoria. It should arrive within 3-5 business days. If there is an issue with the status of your gender euphoria... uhmmm yeah I'm sorry idk how to fix that but I send hugs and well wishes

I'm often posting and talking about Mexico and my "mexican point of view" on media and news. This time, however, I feel deeply saddened and disappointed of my country
Yesterday, Jesus Ociel Baena, the first non-binary Mexican magistrate and their partner were found dead in their home in Aguascalientes. Magistrate Jesus Ociel was well known and recognized for their efforts to protect and promot LGBTQIA+ rights in the public sector, specially within the judiciary system.
The details are still unknown, but what it is clear is how Mexico is still a heavily LGBTQIA+-phobic, with media using incorrect pronouns and social media users celebrating the death of a person
Jesus Ociel, we name you and remember your fight for us LGBTQIA+ Mexicans

shit like this has bothered me since forever and I only realize why now, its because they try to break norms without going all the way through, to the point of going backwards. Yes, a man can be pretty and soft BUT that makes him a princess! Or a wife! Or a material girl!
Notice how the essential social meaning of princess and wife never change. Notice how they have trouble wanting to consider that pretty men can be pretty princes, or pretty husbands. Notice how the roles associated with these words (wife and husband will always mean entirely different things to them) never change. They cannot fathom it, and because they do not want to think without the base of stereotypical gender.
Its all 'FUCK GENDER ROLES', but babes you depend on them so much. Your whole ideology would crumble and you wouldn't feel so special anymore without those stereotypes. Which is why progress on gender roles is not only stagnating but actively regressing, now anyone can opt into boxes that should have been destroyed long ago for the sake of true progress, but are being kept around for decoration.

i recently saw a comic that said, and i'm paraphrasing, "people think the trans community has some secret hidden agenda, but really we are all just trying to live." i get that, obviously, and i sympathize. but when women fight against trans women in sports or bathrooms, it is also just us trying to live. we bring pepper spray on outings with friends and we don't walk home alone at night and we don't take our eyes off our drinks at parties and if someone has a penis, im sorry, but i will always be on edge around them regardless of how they identify because generations of men have made that body part into a weapon, and it may not be their fault for being born with it, but it sure isn't mine either. i wish they had the same sympathy for us when we do what we can to defend ourselves...and the same sympathy for women who are STILL oppressed on the basis of sex alone.
