Short Story Collections for Learning Japanese
Short stories are very popular with language learners – and rightly so. Being able to finish even a short tale aimed at native speakers will feel like a great accomplishment.
I had a look at three approaches for intermediate and advanced learners to enjoy Japanese short stories. For each I can also recommend a few matching short story collections:
Short Stories in Easy Japanese
Tumblr media
Japanese Short Stories with English Annotations
Tumblr media
Parallel Readers
Tumblr media
I give my more detailed thoughts on all these short story collections for learning Japanese in my blog post. You can find it here:

A graded reader Chinese manhua came out! This team made a japanese graded manga a while back which was nice quality, so their mandarin one may also be good! They currently have released it in traditional chinese, but also plan to release in simplified chinese.
A big positive is they made it for total beginners, including an introduction to chinese with some basic grammar and hanzi. This might be a good ‘early’ comprehensible input graded reader for new learners, before they move on to Mandarin Companion 120-300 hanzi level graded readers.

April roundup — Russian
Another month is over! Here are my Russian learning activities in April:
Anki
I kept reviewing the Russian starter deck and the Ru15K deck (see my previous posts for more details). But I also started my own sentence deck. I’m currently adding sentences mostly from Animal Crossing that contain only one unknown word. I decided to focus on Animal Crossing for a while until I can understand most dialogues more easily. (They are surprisingly difficult at my current level. XD)
Tumblr media
Assimil
This month I did lesson 11 - 36. After reaching lesson 36, I started to review older lessons. At some point, I noticed that the lessons became more challenging so I think I should spend a bit more time reviewing new lessons before moving on. Reviewing old ones will also help.
(YouTube) Comprehensible Russian: Beginner 1
I kept watching videos from this playlist. I'm currently at video 31. I like it when there are several videos about a certain topic instead of a different topic in every video. This way, certain words are repeated more often and I can learn more about this topic. Some of them are really interesting.
(YouTube) In Russian From Afar - Beginner Videos A1
I only watched one video so far. He tells children stories and draws on a white board while speaking to make understanding easier (similar to Inna from Comprehensible Russian). Russian subtitles are available. I try to understand as much as I can without reading the subtitles in Russian but if in doubt I can check what he said. The first video I watched was very easy to understand, though.
(YouTube) Inhale Russian
Similar to the beginner videos from Comprehensible Russian, just a bit more "modern“ and efficient and Russian subtitles are available. Instead of drawing, he already prepared all pictures on his computer so that he only needs to point at them during his speech. I like Inna’s drawings from Comprehensible Russian, but the use of photos and graphics makes understanding the meaning easier and faster in my opinion.
However, he speaks veeery calm. Almost monotonous even. Maybe he speaks like this to make it easier for beginners? Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to speak that calm. A little bit more emotions and personality would make the video more engaging. If someone talks too monotonous, I tend to zone out (my mind starts to wander). This makes it more difficult to stay focused which is not helpful if you want to learn something.
Short Stories in Russian for intermediate (by Olly Richards)
I finished this graded reader! I read the e-book version. This book is aimed at intermediate learners so it’s noticeably more difficult than the beginner book. But it’s still easier than the novel I started (which is aimed at native speakers). By looking up every word I noticed a few small errors in the text (like a wrong letter or an additional letter for example). It’s not a big deal but learners should keep that in mind.
I don’t know if it’s because the level of difficulty was higher but somehow these stories gave me a weird feeling. They were not really my cup of tea. I liked the stories of the beginner book much more. Nevertheless, I learned a lot.
Две встречи в Париже
This book contains two stories. I already read chapter 1 of Медовый месяц в Париже so I continued with chapter 2.
Animal Crossing
I continued playing Animal Crossing. I’m using Google Translate to digitalize the text from the game, then I look up words and safe the text for later review. I'm currently using this material to create sentence cards (like I mentioned above).
Метро 2033
I couldn’t wait any longer. XD I started to read chapter 1. Tons of new words, but since I know the video game I’m not completely lost. I have at least a vague idea what awaits me. I’m very curious about the book!
Stranger Things
I watched the first episode of Stranger Things in Russian on Netflix. I turned off the Russian subtitles because most of the time they don't match with the audio. This is a downside because I can't easily check unknown words. So I'll regard it as pure listening practice. I only understand single words here and there, which is no surprise at my current level, but that’s okay.
Maybe it's a bit early but I prefer to mix easier content (aimed at language learners) and difficult content (aimed at native speakers) instead of listen to learner content only. More variety not only makes the learning process more fun and interesting but this will also help me to familiarize myself to native level content. It will take a lot of time time to get accustomed to content aimed at native speakers so I start early.
Plus, watching (or reading) difficult but interesting content is also a great motivation booster. Understanding interesting series and books is my main reason to learn the language. It's very hard right now, but as long as I keep going it will get easier over time.

Y'all I got a new graded reader (part of Jeff Pepper and Xiao Hui Wang's translation of Journey to the West) and it's so good. I've never had material more perfectly fit for my level, it's like Krashen himself is turning the gears in my brain

God I love Ghost but he's truly such a weird guy. How is anyone supposed to respond to his stupid little "I love Kentucky"? That man panicked when he said that, he's going to get a bad grade at socializing. When I tell you there has to be a difference between how he flirts with people he likes and people he's just using for a good time I am TELLING YOU.
He will "sweetheart" and "love" everyone under the sun but he is staring you down across the bar trying to decide if he could handle marrying you. He hasn't even talked to you yet and he'd mentally creating a pinterest wedding board. It's honestly a little creepy having a huge man in a mask glaring at you from a few tables away. Soap is laughing at him, he is going to get a bad grade in socializing. Again.
Ghost is a long slow courtship. He loves you like smoldering coals, warm, reliable, steady, and with the right kindling eager to burst with flame again. There's a certain amount of distance between you and Ghost, until there isn't. Then he's impossible to unattach from, and you're left wondering where that arms length charm went while he's laying on top of you on the couch.

When Simon is in one of his moods and using you as his personal pillow, you’re not allowed to get up much like with a cat. Not even when you need to use the bathroom.
You try to move, Simon grunts in Ghost.
You actually do move, Simon grunts in Ghost, wraps his arms around you, and nuzzles against your skin. If you're under him and move to get from under him, he'll just roll over so you're on top. His arms are still around you. Vice versa if you're originally on top of him.
You tell him you gotta get up, and he'll tighten his hold slightly.
He'll let you up. Eventually.
Cheers, Your Splootiness.

hi!! do you have by any chance any collection of japanese short stories, or just any japanese short story, to recommend? (children literature is also welcome!)
Thanks for the ask! My favourite short story collection in simple Japanese is definitely the series どんどん読める!日本語ショートストリーズ by the publisher アルク.
Tumblr media
There are three books in this series and it's the only Japanese short stories collection for learners of which I liked both the stories and the overall structure of the book. As you can see in the sample below, every kanji is accompanied by furigana, making it easier to read, and there are annotations for vocabulary above N3 and idioms.
Tumblr media
I've added affiliate links to Amazon Japan, but you can also get these books through other shipping services like CDJapan or most shops that also sell Japanese textbooks.

What do you think Steve says when he cums? Like does he moan ? Does he whimper or whine? These are things I must know and I think u got the answers
ok first of all i’m always a fan of a man who whimpers and then BITES when he cums, so jot that down. but honestly babes, depends on the sex <3
anything sappy and romantic, missionary style so you can see each others faces and pepper as many kisses as you desire? steve always cums with a groan of your name, always the romantic, always clinging to your back and moaning into your kisses, panting into your mouth.
hard and fast, haven’t seen each other in a week, pressed against the door while you’re both half clothed because neither of you could fucking wait sex? steve comes with a growl, a raspy moan that turns soft right at the end, his hips still rutting to draw out all the dregs of pleasure for you.
teasing and drawn out sex, just to see if you can get his cheeks to flush the same bright pink to match his aching cockhead, all tutting and cooing? steve cums with a whimper, without a doubt— a thousand whimpers actually, just endless soft panting as he thanks you over and over.
and if he’s the one doing the teasing? and you’re the one twisting and writhing in the sheets while he teases your cunt with his fingers, his tongue, his huge hands keeping your thighs parted and your cunt spread as he sinks his cock into you? steve cums with a high whine, all too keyed up from seeing you drip for him, all too denied himself.

March roundup - Russian
And as promised in my last post, here's my Russian roundup of March!
(Anki) Russian starter deck (this one)
By now, I reviewed every card at least once! This deck is a good start. Each card presents a sentence which changes every day (so that you learn the words and not memorize the sentence). If you click on a word, you can check its definition. Plus, some cards contain grammar explanations. However, I noticed that some sentences are confusing. Sometimes because of the lack of context and sometimes because they contain difficult phrases. Even after checking the individual words and the translation of some phrases, it didn’t make sense to me. In cases like this all you can do is to memorize what this combination of words means. Anyways, I'll continue reviewing this deck.
(Anki) ru15k (this one)
I suspended all cards except for the first 1k cards to focus on them first. I'm currently reviewing 10 new cards per day. Maybe a bit low, but my main focus is reading. That's why I try to keep my daily Anki time below 30 minutes. To me, this deck is only a supplement.
(YouTube) Comprehensible Russian: Zero Beginner
I watched almost all videos from this playlist! I skipped a few videos because sometimes the audio quality is not good or the video was originally a private lesson where you hear the learner in the background (they sometimes talk in English in these videos). Sometimes she uses words I don't know yet but, overall, I can understand these videos well.
(YouTube) Comprehensible Russian: Beginner 1
I'll stay with this YouTube channel and continue with the Beginner 1 playlist. I watched 4 videos so far. They are pretty similar to the ones from the Zero Beginner playlist but the topics are a bit more complex.
Short Stories in Russian for Beginners by Olly Richards
I finished all short stories from this book! Since I started from zero I had to look up almost every word in the beginning which was hard, but I learned a lot along the way. The stories were not as exciting like a bestseller for example but there was always an interesting plot twist. They introduce many common words and repeat them regularly in their stories, which helps to get used to them. By looking up every unknown word I noticed a few small errors in the text (e.g. sometimes a wrong letter was used so when I put this word in an online dictionary it wasn't possible to find it at first). It’s not a big deal but learners should keep that in mind and be a bit cautious. (I've read the ebook version)
Short Stories in Russian for Intermediate Learners by Olly Richards
This graded reader is aimed at intermediate learners so it’s noticeably more difficult. But it’s still easier than the novel I started which is aimed at native speakers. Like with the other graded reader before, I noticed a few small errors in the text (like a wrong letter or a additional letter for example). It's not a big problem, just be a bit cautious. (I'm reading the ebook version)
Assimil (lesson 11 - 17)
I did one lesson per day in the beginning but I noticed that I had trouble with new words. After 10 lessons, I reviewed some lessons a few more times before going on. After that I decided to listen and read every lesson (at least) twice before moving on, means I listen and read a new lesson on one day and on the next day I review this lesson once more. I move on as soon as I can understand the dialogue without checking the meaning of words.
Две встречи в Париже
This book contains two stories. The first one is Медовый месяц в Париже and I finished the first chapter! This is my personal highlight from this month. I chose this book as my first novel in Russian because it contains two rather short stories. This makes it less daunting and overwhelming. I also bought the audio book. I read around one page per day. The story is interesting so far. I'm curious how it will continue.
Reading novels is very difficult at my level of course. Compared to the graded readers the used language is more complex. So I need to look up a lot of words. It's difficult but I take my time. Reading a real novel feels great and is a strong motivation!
Tumblr media
Fit in 30 Tagen Russisch (textbook)
I bought this textbook years ago but after a few lessons I felt overwhelmed because in every lesson they introduce many new words and phrases at once and the grammar explanations were too complicated and dry. To me, textbooks like these are not very beginner friendly. (Assimil does a much better job in my opinion.) But since I bought this book I also want to use it in some way, so now I started to read the dialogues and listen to the audio. I treat it like graded readers and not like a textbook. I only use this book as additional (level appropriate) reading material.
Euronews article
News articles are very difficult at my level but I wanted to read another one because I was very interested in the topic. I looked up lots of difficult words but I also gained interesting information.
(YouTube) In Russian From Afar - Beginner Videos A1
Originally, I wanted to start with "Russian with Max" at this point but then I came across this channel and changed my plan. I like his videos for beginners more. I'll switch to "Russian with Max" when I can understand more. The videos I watched so far have Russian subtitles. I try to understand as much as I can from the video itself but if in doubt I check the subtitles.
Animal Crossing
I also started to play Animal Crossing in Russian! I loved playing AC in Japanese so I wanted to play it in Russian, too. It's surprisingly difficult for beginners. I need to look up much more words than I thought. When I played it in Japanese, my initial level was much higher so it was pretty easy to understand. That's why I was a bit surprised. XD But I think the beginning is the most difficult part of the game because they explain a lot. Later you have more freedom and it gets more relaxing. It's not easy at my level but I enjoy it a lot.
This game is great in my opinion because you can learn many words from context. Plus, by interacting with different objects and characters you'll get familiar with these words in a meaningful way. Like in my case, I quickly learned the words пала́тка (tent) and о́стров (island) because the first task in the game is to find a nice place to live on a untouched island. Once you get absorbed in a game (or book) you'll easily learn words that are important for the story or to fulfill a task in the game.
Tumblr media
If you want to read something above your level, I recommend to use your smartphone and the Google Translate app to scan the text from the game (or book). As soon as the text is digitalized its much easier to look up words. I look up each unknown word and try to understand the sentence as best as I can. I save these texts from the game for later review. In most cases I ignore the translation from Google Translate, because I won't learn anything from relying on this translation. I learn the most if I look up unknown words and make an effort to understand the sentence myself. Only if I really can't make sense of a sentence I look at the translation for clarification.

just thinking abt ghoap x necromancer! reader.... gang ive got an idea let me cook LET ME COOOkkkkkKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!
content: dark concept beware !! angsty at the start, 141 is a little mean to you, obsession, manipulation, (allusions to) kidnapping. (blurb, wc527)
there's a new guy who comes in to fill in after soap dies. it's awkward for him- not knowing why the team glares at him like the parasites on a sunfish, the cracks in their manor. ghost seems to hate you especially; you'd been told by some of the newer recruits that he was usually cold, unfeeling- but this wasn't unfeeling. this was him glancing at you at the shooting range than firing multiple shots at the target, him digging his knife into wooden target just that bit harder when he saw you spar.
and then you meet johnny.
it's not too long until you're having full conversations with the freshly dead ghost, gravelly scottish accent and slightly crooked smile leaving your heart warm and full and almost mushy. he tells you stories, ones that the team had always held back from you; what had happened when he'd took prices hat, why gaz hates choppers, and ghost.
it doesn't take more than a few wistful smiles to know who they were to each other, why he'd never looked at you the same.
but unlike the other ghosts of the base, glaring at living enemies with glassy eyes and rabid, foaming mouths holding curses in foreign tongue, he's ... still warm. almost living.
and when ghost finds out you're a necromancer, it starts out subtle . gruff 'have you seen a lad wif' a mohawk' and such being the only queries he'd bare to talk to you for. and you tell him everything- johnny mactavish and the star wound in his head, johnny mactavish and the shiny eyes and the white grin, johnny mactavish and the boyfriend he fawns over. queries turn into questions, and questions turn into long conversations where you're the translator of two worlds. and while ghost swears he'd only ever see you as a bridge between him and the love of his life (or death?), soap can't say the same.
being a ghost has it's perks. you're no longer confined to the bounds of mortality- solid form can switch to material nothingness, being noting in plain sight. and even as a necromancer, you can't feel how he cradles your face when you sleep, how he kisses those tears away when you retire to your barracks. he doesn't let you feel those because he doesn't want you to, not yet.
hasn't forgotten about ghost, either.
and it's okay- he'll get his love on board with you too. leaves images of you in his dreams; the way your nose crinkles when you banter, the quirk of your smile. darkening the corners of his dreams with sigils and spells, rituals of reanimation. it'll be slow, but still in it's worth. he'll find you eventually.
so when ghost's eyes turn as hungry and wanting as the dead you've met, and when you can now feel johnny's pulse, you know something's gone wrong. very wrong.
too bad that there's already a pair of skeleton-gloved hands pinning as another pair wraps chloroform-stained rap around your face before you can pry any further.
and too bad that you can hear the voices of the men you'd trusted trying to soothe your through it.

Jealousy part two
Part one (you don't have to read to understand this part <3)
Tumblr media
Summary - Wanda takes a turn at being jealous while at a party
Warnings- probably stupid, alcohol, getting drunk, r being oblivious drunk, Wanda being possessive, hickeys
A/n - I dont know if this is too much bc I fell asleep twice writing this and took a break for a carbonara
Tumblr media
"Do you think this looks good?" You ask nervously turning your head away from your bedrooms full length mirror and towards Wanda who was lay back on the bed, head tilted down as she put her full focus into painting her nails a fresh coat of black.
The dress you'd put on was a black satin wrap that fell just above your mid thigh, it was the third dress you'd tried in the past twenty minutes insisting none of them were suiting you despite Wandas compliments on each one. Your eyes flitted back to the mirror over analysing each small part of the dress on your body as if trying to find a reason to take it off and avoid going out.
"God y/n that's it that's the one." Wanda finally replies as she slides off the bed, you watching her from the reflection in the mirror as she strides over her hands snaking around your waist all the while she nuzzles her face into your neck. "Please don't take this one off.. for me." You feel the soft tickles of her breath on your neck as she whispers to you. Before you can stop yourself your nodding along with her agreeing to wear the dress as her hands slip past your waist giving your ass a tight squeeze and kissing your jaw before slinking back to the bed.
An hour later both you and Wanda were dressed and ready heading to a party on the otherside of town. You still in the black dress with your hair in loose curls that Wanda had done for you patiently while you fidgeted on the floor not content with having to stay completely still even if it meant avoiding a burn from the curling iron. Wanda however had been patient as possible gently pulling your shoulders back when you started moving and going back to wrapping your hair around the iron.
Wanda was dressed in a satin navy blue dress with little gold stars on it paired with some gold constellation earrings you'd bought her for her last birthday. Everytime you saw her she was more gorgeous than you had remembered.
You were both cuddled together in the back seat of the cab her arm draped around your shoulder pulling you into her chest where you lay your head with a soft smile. Since establishing yourself as a couple you'd begun to realise Wanda was very touchy and possessive, always wanting you within an arms reach just in case. It made you wonder how long she'd wanted to hold you like this and just kept quiet about it. You for one were glad she was always close enjoying the soothing feeling that came from being in the other woman's arms.
Suddenly, the taxi pulled into a stop outside a very expensive looking apartment building where you could already hear loud music blasting from the penthouse on the top floor.
Parties had always made you nervous and when you got nervous you got drunk.. very drunk. Wanda somewhat knew this from the first time you'd been at a Stark party and you'd gotten blackout drunk in the first hour and attempted to do an Olympic gymnast routine and in the process breaking your left wrist. She hadn't told you but she had the whole thing on video.
You didn't have much time to linger on your nerves as Wanda was now pulling you from the car and leading you towards the party. Neither of you were extremely extroverted but that didn't stop the two of you from being excited about going out on nights like this. Being quite similar like this worked out well as by the time one of you grew tired of a social outing so did the other and you could both go home without it being awkward.
In a matter of minutes you were in the lift to the top floor with Wanda who kept taking pictures of you both in the mirror.
"I don't want to ever forget how perfect you look." She tells you will snapping another picture of you. You leaned over to kiss her cheek and she took the opportunity to get yet another picture. For the last few seconds of the lift she continued to mess around taking pictures while you admired her. The soft sound of her giggle which rang out with every click of the camera or the way she styled her long wavy hair so that it framed her face in what you would describe as an angelic way.
You were drawn out of your thoughts when the lift dinged and the doors opened, Wanda quickly linked your arm and you both scurried out the lift and towards the music which rapidly increased in volume.
Stepping through the door to the party you realised you'd both underestimated how many people would be there as you were hit with the smell or sweat and cheap booze as you entered. You tried to keep close to your girlfriend but the crowds of people were thick and you had to walk through one at a time. Assuming Wanda was behind you the whole time you confidently stepped through the party towards a drinks table but once you arrived much to your dismay Wanda was no where to be found. Trying not to panic you assumed she'd be there soon, maybe she was just saying hi to someone she knew. While you definitely didn't panic about your girlfriends absence you decided to pour a drink for the two of you. Nothing fancy just vodka and coke except you were always far too generous with the vodka which is why Wanda usually poured the drinks for you both.
Walking back through the party with your drinks you sat down on a comfy looking couch and awaited Wandas return while sipping your drink. Fifteen minutes went by with no sighting of Wanda and by then you'd finished your drink and had decided to start on hers telling yourself you'd get her another when she returned.
As time went on you succumbed to your nerves and rushed through your drinks. Two became four became eight and now you were on your ninth still curled on the couch having forgotten about trying to find Wanda.
A girl had started talking to you a while ago though you had no clue what about or what her name even was despite having had asked her three separate times. She was pretty but to you no one could compare to Wandas beauty. Even though you'd forgotten about finding her your brain could still only picture her, wishing she was there sat next to you instead of whoever this was.
In the state you'd become combined with how oblivious you could be anyway you didn't quite notice the girl placing herself so close so she was pressed against you and actively trying to close the space between you. Right now she had you lazily half perched on her lap while your head flopped on the head of the couch.
Your blurry eyes scanned the room and you recognised the girl looking directly at you with her fists clenched. Wanda. Your eyes lit up when you saw her and you lifted your heavy head from the couch to try and beckon her over when the girl next to you noticed she attempted to pull your head onto her shoulder. You tried to resist the movement instead wanting to look at Wanda who was quickly pacing over with a stern look.
"You didn't introduce me to your new friend detka." She muttered with a slight hiss which you didn't quite detect. Her eyes darted over to the girl as if judging every part of her appearance.
"WANDS!" You shouted back with little regard for what she'd just said as you simmer with excitement at just the sight of her.
In an attempt to sit up and make room for Wanda on the couch wanting her to hold you in the soothing way she often did. However in your state you miscalculated moving and holding your drink and ended up spilling it all over yourself and the girl next to you who instantly reacts by jumping up and away from the dark liquid coating her legs.
"Oh.. oh my god.. I'm so sorry." You try and tell her with a slur as tears prick your eyes finding yourself overly emotional, probably due to the drink.
The girl who was trying to get all over you just a second ago stares down at you with what looks like disgust while wiping the drink off her. She then turns on her heel and marches away. Wanda stood just a couple feet away tries so desperately to hide her excitement at the girl leaving though she doubts you'd notice in this state.
Wanda then takes no time sliding into the seat and wrapping you around her, letting you rest your head against her. A few stray tears were running down your face which she wiped away carefully. She looked down at your face which was now nestled against her with a more peaceful expression, your meticulously applied mascara was now clumpy and your face was a blushed tone from the alcohol.Watching that go on made her realise you hadn't noticed what the other girl had been trying to do, that you were too drunk to pick up on how it looked. Still it didn't make her feel any better. She was still jealous even if she knew it wasn't exactly your fault.
"How much have you drank sweetie?" She asks in a much softer tone, all trace of her previous hiss gone as she looks at you with concern. Her soft fingers tracing patterns into your neck.
"A little bit.. I had a little bit." You mumble into her shoulder. Her eyebrow raised in response, you'd definitely had more than just a little drink to end up like this.
She lifts up your head delicately holding your chin as if you were a fragile china doll who would break with any rough handling.
"Your mine y/n. No one will ever take you away or hurt you. No one will ever take you from me." To contrast with her words her voice is possibly softer than its ever been, you just wanted her to keep talking so you could keep hearing that silk like noise from her mouth.
"I don't want anyone else Wands." You attempt to make a response but most of it is lost in an incoherent mumble. Your eyes were still blurred but you could just about make out the shape of her face which you attempted to trace with your fingers. When she noticed what you were trying to do she helped you out, guiding your hand to her jawline with a giggle which made you feel all fuzzy.
"I think we should go home y/n."
In response all you do is nod and before you know it your back in the lift with her. For some reason she's still taking more pictures of you both in the mirror but you were sure with the way you were right now they wouldn't be flattering.
All of a sudden her head is against your neck and shes whispering in a way that can only be described as making you weak in the knees.
"I meant what I said. Your mine and I won't let anyone take you away from me." Before you can process what she was saying, her lips latch onto your neck at first gently sucking just one spot but it wasn't long before she bit into it, making sure to leave a bruise right there. A mewl escaped you, too out of it to distinguish between the pleasure and the pain. She stopped biting and began to lick over to rough pained skin just as the lift opened and she led you out as if nothing had happened.

Luke watching any movie or tv series with you is my absolute demise. Because why wouldn’t he??? Like first of all, he’s just a boy that wants to spend as much time as he can with his gf, but when she’s too busy watching some little show about vampires—eyes twinkling in excitement and mouth slightly agape from all the plot twists, he just can’t stop himself from staring. And you wouldn’t even notice! That’s the best part; he gets to stare at your pretty face for hours!! You pay him no mind, too intrigued by the illuminated screen in front of you and little pouts from time to time just cause the scene was too tense. And when the episode/movie ended and you finally took your eyes off of the screen to look at your boyfriend; you found him already smiling at you. Laughing you tease him to take a picture cause it will last longer and he just takes out his phone to do that! Your illuminated face, smiling and giggling at him became his wallpaper for the next few weeks until another picture of your cute face came along and then another, and another and damn his whole gallery is filled with pictures of you but who tf cares when he can just wipe out his phone, swiping through pictures of you just cause you went to the toilet and left him for a few seconds.
