If fanfiction has taught me anything, it has taught me to appreciate the little details. The correct usage of definitely/defiantly now brings me immense joy.

It has also taught me to read the tags before I accidentally scar myself and wish for bleach.

ok but the thing is that "hurt" is an adjective, verb, and noun. so the linguistic poeticism is still there, albeit in a slightly different way. yes, "hurt" as a description of a person's state holds true across tenses because it is indeed an adjective, but the fact remains that it's a lexicologically interesting word! personally, what i find really neat is that "hurt" is both an intransitive verb used for the person being wounded and a transitive verb for the act of wounding someone. it's an intriguing concept to think of pain as something that draws connections between people. something that weaves together victim and perpetrator in some inseparable way. that you can't hurt someone without it changing you as well. idk what exactly that says about pain as a human experience, and it's a lot of using imagination and metaphor to extract and extend meaning from language, but it's still fascinating!

I love learning Portuguese it's so fun it's so rewarding it's head in I can already say so much even if it's dead wrong because I believe I'll still be understood. It's so much love it's so much improvisation it's so much linguistics I'm <33

Rest In Peace, Traute Lafrenz, 103 years 🧡

The last member of German WWII resistance group 'White Rose' died on 06. March

Dying at this proud age, it's special... if we look at her fellows- the famous Sophie and Hans Scholl. Traute was member of the White Rose in Hamburg and Munich where the siblings Scholl went to university.

Nowadays it's hard for us to imagine what a risk it was to help such student founded groups; she was one of the most important members.

Other famous members: Christoph Probst-- Alexander Schmorell, the 'russian soul' and martyr -- Willi Graf and of course Sophie and Hans Scholl

Some of these had tried to help Jews, some had connections with them.

All anti NS regime 'organisations' were important in German history... there was also the military resistance -Stauffenberg but also many other brave people-, churches, socialism/communism, minorities which didn't fit to the new standards...

Die Weiße Rose has always been a big example for me- as well as for m a n y others; Exhibitions and connections with people from their history related places... every single information is golden about this.

I just wish her a beautiful life in heaven and that she meets her old fellows. They were already killed in the times of '42 to '43, when these young persons were in their 20's. Let's pray for everyone who has lost their lives back then, however.

And I'm so happy for Traute from all my heart. I can't express it in words.

This is my laptop wallpaper for the month. I decorated these wooden bird houses a few years ago for an ornament swap, and to this day, they're my most favorite ornaments I've ever made. There was a lot of tissue paper and matte medium involved. 😄

I want to apologize for the lack of posts. It's been a month. But I especially want to point out the lack luster posts without images. Something has changed in the way I can post directly from other Websites. This platform, which I love, hasn't been supporting the format of the photos that go with the articles I search the web for and share with you here. I don't feel right about taking screenshots and copying them because of copyright issues, so I decided to just share the parts that I can. I hope you're still finding the links helpful.

On the one hand, I undrestand the etiquette of tumblr and the importance of reblogging.

On the other, I treat it as though it's my camera roll. Reblogs are things that i'm (saving to) share with my friends or peers, something I usually have something to comment on or someone to tag because it reminds me of them. It's something I know the people following me might also likely appreciate or find amusing, maybe even informative. A comment is a little conversation or quip to the person who showed me something originally, a little private interaction which i keep for myself and the op. And a like is akin to a smile, a laugh, an agreement. A like is small bursts of passing affection that I don't feel the need to broadcast to anyone but the op who brought the affection forth with their words or art.

So if you're annoyed by the excessive liking i tend to do, i'm sorry for the annoyance, I'm still adjusting to being on here frequently enough to need to know the proper etiquette. Unfortunately, I don't think the liking will slow any time soon.
