paranormal: ghosts & spirits vs. haunted house
ghosts & spirits: this subgenre is another one that doesn't need an introduction. in horror cinema, ghosts and spirits are often the souls of dead people who have unfinished business or seek revenge.
examples: ghost ship, poltergeist, thirteen ghosts
haunted house: could you have a ghost movie without a haunted house? the simple answer is yes, which is why this subgenre focuses on the location more than the ghost themselves. the plot usually revolves around a group of intrepid newcomers who enter a haunted house.
examples: the amityville horror, beetlejuice, the grudge

tomorrow's halloween & today's my birthday! to celebrate, here's some of my favorite haunted houses i've drawn 🏚🎈
thank you to everyone who's enjoyed any of my funny little haunted house art in the past year! i've done a lot of really cool stuff this year — ran my first kickstarter, self-published my first artbook, tabled some really exciting comic conventions, made some cool art, worked on some comic projects i'm stoked to be able to share sometime soon — and i'm super excited to see what 24 has in store for me! 💖
