okay im 6 episodes into fellow travelers and damn this really is a WHOLE different thing than the book. like they kept a FEW of the same characters and like some of the very most basic foundations of it but d a m n they changed SO much
#im honestly kinda disappointed?#like i wish it were closer to the book#also theres not nearly enough mary in this smh#but yeah they like. did not get the dynamic between hawk and tim right.#its weird in the show. it feels like they got it backwards#like in the book tim is very much the one that is obsessed for lack of better word with hawk#and hawk is very blase about it and tries to play it cool and not show his emotions/feelings about their relationship#but in the show it feels like hawk is the one thats obsessed with tim#also lucy has a WAY bigger way EARLIER role in the show than in the book and im not a fan tbh#i thought she seemed sort of sweet in the book and like understanding in a way. but show lucy is very much neither of those things lol#also the whole aids storyline..... that.... Does Not exist in the book#like they actually make it a point to say that tim DIDNT have aids#so like to add that into the show and to make it a BIG storyline in it too.... also not a fan#plus the way they have hawk like visiting and heping tim when in the book he literally Does Not see tim again before he dies#i feel like that just kinda takes away some of the tragicness of the books ending!!#its obviously a different kind of tragedy in the show but yeah idk it hit harder in the book i feel like#also i am enjoying this b plot of the writer dude and the drag queen but that was defs not in the book#also tim NEVER met hawks children ever so it feels very weird to see him like. spending time with hawks son??#fellow travelers#mack reacts

Later A/N So I'm just now rereading Titan's Curse for the first time in like four years so I forgot that the Garden of Hesperides is west in the books. However, when I was researching the myth it was said to be some place north so I chose Canada. So that's why it doesn't reflect the book.
“Happy birthday, Luke,” my girlfriend smiled. Our lips were so close our noses were already touching. But just as I could feel the fleeting touch of her lips on mine, there was a flash of light, making her jump away from me in surprise. Looking over to the source of the light, I found my father standing three feet from us on the dock.
Neither of us had time to react before Hermes was speaking. “Hi Luke! Happy birthday. I have a gift for you.”
“Uh… th-thank you,” I tried to sound grateful but I was a little caught off guard and annoyed he ruined the moment.
“Oh, sorry!” he laughed, noticing my girlfriend who was still half in my lap. “How are you Y/N?”
“I- I’m well, Lord Hermes. How are you?” she asked nervously, awkwardly scooting away from me, moving her legs so their weight no longer rested on mine.
“Oh, no need with the Lord stuff. I may not be the god of prophecy but I am the god of gambling and I’m betting you two will get married. We’ll be family!”
“Father,” I tried to interrupt him as the embarrassment coursed through my veins, bringing heat up to my face. I didn’t even want to see Y/N’s reaction I was so nervous and embarrassed.
“Oh, right. Sorry kid. I forgot how much you teenagers hate sharing your feelings. But uh I’ve heard your prayers and offerings Luke and I have a quest for you.” My eyes widened. Finally. All my training would pay off. I could prove myself and go down in history as a hero. “I need you to get me the golden apples in Hesperides’ garden. Hera is getting a little too insufferable these days y’know?”
Y/N and I sent each other looks, our mouths open in hesitation. Our next words had to be careful. If we agreed to the wrong thing we’d be insulting Hera and I was sure she’d strike us down right here. She didn’t like demigods, to her we were an offense to marriage. Especially the ones that were a product of offense to her own marriage. “Thank you for the quest,” I carefully dodged his last comment.
“Of course, kid. Here, you’ll need this.” He snapped his fingers and in another blaze of heavenly light, a duffle bag appeared in his hands. “Well, good luck. I’ll see you back here when you bring me my apples,” he smiled, handing me the bag. “Uh, avert your eyes,” he warned. Waiting for us to cover our eyes, he disappeared in a golden spray of light.
When the world dimmed again I turned to Y/N. “Oh my god!” she yelled excitedly. She stood up, throwing her arms around me, almost knocking us both into the water. I laughed, hugging her tightly in return. “Luke, you’re gonna be a hero!” she gushed, pulling away so she could look at me.
“We’re gonna be heroes,” I assured her, placing a hand on her face. “Come with me,” I requested. My heart was thumping quickly in my chest out of excitement and nervousness. “We can be the Greek Bonnie and Clyde. Hundreds of years from now demigods will read our myths and say, ‘We can be like Y/N and Luke.’”
She looked at me, confused. “Luke, they were criminals and died tragically,” she laughed a little at the ridiculousness of it all.
“Okay wrong analogy but you get the idea. Please, I can’t do this without you.” As much as I wanted my glory, I knew the Daughter of Apollo wanted it too. And I’d be damned if I couldn’t give it to her.
“Okay, okay,” she laughed. “I’ll go with you.”
“Yes!” I cheered, hugging her so tightly I ended up lifting her off the wooden docks. She laughed as I began to spin, even almost spinning us into the cold water.

After talking to Chiron and getting my prophecy, Y/N and I were off in a car that Mr. D had somehow acquired. The only reason we were allowed to take it was because I was 17 and had a little driving experience from when I would take my mom’s car when she was too out of it to even get groceries. I shook off the thoughts as Y/N once again went through our supplies and plan. She seemed nervous even though I assured her numerous times we’d be fine.
“Drachma, cash, ambrosia, passports, drivers license, an enchanted map, and a bow and arrow,” she repeated the contents of the duffle bag. “The Garden of Hesperides is in northern Canada,” she mused, looking at the map. “Heracles defeated Ladon with a bow and arrow by piercing each head through the eye.”
“Yeah, we’ll be fine,” I assured, reaching across the center console to place a reassuring hand on her thigh. I left it there, rubbing calming circles on the skin of her leg with my thumb. “Heracles did it before…” I said, the words slowly dying as they came out. Heracles already did it. I tried to shake off the thought that I was just redoing a quest. They were so uncommon nowadays it was an honor to be chosen for one. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself to chase the doubt away. Besides, Heracles technically failed his quest, he didn’t bring them to Eurystheus. I would succeed in bringing them to the person who had requested them.
“What was the prophecy again?” she asked, still looking at the map.
I swallowed nervously. The prophecy was not optimistic for us. I couldn’t possibly imagine what we’d find out about each other on this trip that would cause us to lose our love for one another. “You shall go north to fruits, rare / Liar to liar, a father’s heir, / Loves will be lost in Ladon’s lair,” I repeated.
“‘You shall go north to fruits, rare,’” she repeated. “Obviously that means we’re going north to find the golden apples. “‘Liar to Liar, a father’s heir.’ Hermes is the god of lies. And I guess stealing makes you deceitful. Ergo, a liar… ‘Loves will be lost in Ladon’s lair,’” she repeated. I could hear the dread infiltrating her voice.
“Hey,” I interrupted her thinking with a squeeze to her thigh, “that could mean anything. Prophecies are just a guide. A starting point. It was so short and vague that we don’t even know if it’s talking about us. We’ll be fine,” I promised again.
“Yeah, of course,” came her voice. I glanced away from the road, finding a weak smile on her face.
“What kind of music does Dionysus have?” I asked, trying to change the subject. She opened the glove compartment, several things falling out of it.
She began to go through them. “Um, a concerning amount of Weird Al Yankovic.” I laughed as she continued to look through. She then gasped. “Oh my gods.” She held up something next to me that I took. I nearly slammed on the brakes as I glanced down at it.
I couldn’t stare at the CD in my hand too long so we wouldn’t crash but every time I glanced down at it I found a new horrifyingly wonderful detail on the album cover. It was Mr. D with the weirdest haircut I had ever seen. He was lying down on a cheetah print rug, his shirt was a zebra print and had the first several buttons undone so the viewer could see all of his glorious chest hair. That wasn’t even the most outrageous part. Mr. D was lying down next to a tiger with a gold chain around its neck. Hanging from the chain was presumably Mr. D’s stage name, “Dionomite” written in gold cursive and studded with diamonds. “We have to listen to this!”
“Already ahead of you,” she said, punching buttons on the dash. She took the CD from me and put it in. Once it was ready, our ears were immediately assaulted with the sound of various horn instruments being poorly played. “Did he play all the instruments himself?”
“Probably,” I answered as Mr. D’s voice came on. “Oh…” was all I could say as the squeaky singing made my eardrums bleed.
It was funny for a couple songs but then it just got annoying so we switched over to a single Beatles album.

We reached the Canadian border in only a couple hours. Thanks to the Mist we could drive as fast as we wanted without fear of mortal cops.
As we pulled up to the gate, the guard switched. Must have been a shift change. I thought nothing of it as I rolled down the window. “Passports?” the guard tiredly asked. His eyes were shielded by sunglasses despite the fact that he was under shade. I became wary but handed him the documents anyway. “Any plants, animals, dairy products, or drugs in the car?” he asked.
“No,” I answered.
“What’s the nature of your quest, demigods?” The customs officer removed his sunglasses, revealing a single eye. He then grew about three feet, revealing a cyclops.
“Hit the gas!” Y/N yelled beside me. I did, taking off. Now we had both a cyclops and the Canadian border police after us as I crashed through the plastic gate that went up and down. I swerved around guards and other cars, getting up on sidewalks and surely ruining the paint job.
But up ahead I could see them closing a heavy looking gate. Gods on our side or not we weren’t getting through that gate. So I swerved into the trees. “Hold on!” they were sparse enough that the car could fit in between the trees. Glancing in the mirror, I could no longer see border guards. But there was a 9 foot tall cyclops following us in the distance. Which would be fine, he’d never catch up to the car but the woods were getting thicker and now I didn’t know which way was the road.
Nature made its decision for me as I heard Y/N’s scream. “Luke look out!” But it was too late. A violent force stopped us and the car was suddenly still. There was so much force I was half afraid the cyclops had a friend but I just found a tree in the middle of the hood where the engine used to be. “Run!” I told my girlfriend, frantically unbuckling my seatbelt.
I ran to the other side, finding her struggling with the seatbelt. She threw the duffle bag at me before pulling out her knife and cutting the seatbelt away. When she hopped out, I took her hand. We ran further into the trees, the cyclops’ thunderous footsteps right behind us.
“Luke, we can’t run forever,” she breathed. She was right. We’d run out of energy before that thing did.
I thought for a moment, thinking of how we’d kill this thing. “At that big tree,” I pointed to a huge pine tree right in our path, “split up. Then we’ll circle back around and hit him from the side.” She nodded in understanding. We ran full speed at the tree until we each turned on the balls of our feet, dashing out of the cyclops’ path. The plan worked better than expected because he ran face first into the solid pine tree.
He crumpled to the ground, giving me time to retrieve my sword from the duffle bag. By the time I looked up, Y/N was already dancing around the beast, cutting him up with her knife. I jumped in, giving him the same treatment. We worked as a flawless team, striking and giving the other space as needed. Until finally, she cut the thing’s heels, forcing him to the ground. I took the opportunity to stab him in the eye, leaving behind only a pile of shimmery ichor.
When he was gone, I immediately pulled Y/N in my arms. Even at the relative safety of camp, I always needed her in my arms to calm down after battle. To assure myself that she was still there and I was still alive. The sound of her breath in my ear helped ground me. “Are you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, you?” Her face was still buried in my shoulder.
“Yeah. Sorry I crashed the car.” She chuckled, pulling away from me.
“You’re forgiven. C’mon, let’s go see what supplies we can save and start walking.”
While the car was unsalvageable, all of our stuff was fine. So we grabbed out backpacks full of winter clothes and started following the map. It wasn’t that bad now but it’d be cold by the time night fell so I forced Y/N to put on sweatpants over her shorts.
I was kind of hoping the map would take us to civilization where we could rest for the night but it just seemed to bring us deeper into the forest and we had no flashlight. As it got darker and colder I got more nervous. “We have to find some sort of shelter for tonight.”
“I know it’s dark but it’s not that-” A pack of wolves howling cut her off. “Okay, yeah,” she agreed. She began looking around. “Any chance you could climb one of these trees? I don’t really want to be on the ground.”
I shook my head. “Even if I could get up high enough I don’t think any of the branches would support us.”
She huffed. “Shelter it is, I guess.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you from the wolves,” I teased. She had just killed a literal cyclops but she was afraid of some dogs.
“Hey, I don’t mess with wolves,” she said sternly. “After I saw that one movie about the kids stuck on the ski lift. You wouldn’t catch me in the woods at night yet here we are.”
“What about Capture the Flag?” I asked as we started collecting stuff to make a shelter.
“Well that’s different. There’s like 30 of us out there.”
“Do you want me to start sticking with you during the games? You know, if a wolf wanders in?” I teased.
“I’ll make my own shelter for tonight, thank you very much,” she said matter o’ factly.
“No, no, no. I’m sorry,” I apologized, tugging her back to me as she tried to storm off to get supplies. “Besides, we need each other’s body heat to keep us warm,” I whispered teasingly.
“Not a chance out here,” she scolded me.
“Worth a try,” I shrugged. “Everyone knows you can better preserve body heat if you’re not wearing clothes.” She just gave me an exasperated look before walking off again. “I’m joking!” I yelled after her.
By the time we had the shelter built up only about an hour had passed. We used pine needles to try to protect out bodies from the cold ground. And we used our winter coats as a blanket since we zipped them together. We laid down in the shelter, still shivering despite our best efforts. I held her close as she curled up against my chest, her head tucked under my chin. “Get some sleep,” I told her. “I’ll keep watch.”
“Okay,” she agreed. “Wake me in a few hours and I’ll take over.” I agreed with absolutely no intentions of waking her up. Judging by how fast her breathing evened out despite her constant shivers, she needed the sleep more than me. In the morning she’d yell at me for not waking her but it was worth it.
~
We had only been walking for a few minutes when we came across sled dogs. Ten siberian huskies all laying around patiently, harnessed to a sled. “Maybe these were the wolv-”
“Shut up,” she warned, giving me a light smack against the shoulder. I laughed as she hesitantly approached the dogs. “Hey guys, you waiting for someone?” She slowly reached her hand out to one of the dogs who calmly sniffed it before licking it eagerly. She gave him some scratches behind the ear in return. “Awe you’re such a good boy.” The dogs were now all up, wagging their tails and whining for pets.
I went up to the sled, finding a satchel tied to it. Opening it I found dog treats and a note. “All good huntresses need a pack of wolves.” Underneath it was a crescent moon. I clenched my jaw, recognizing the sender of the gift. Her aunt, Artemis. Last year, during the winter solstice, Artemis and her hunters had visited briefly. One of the hunters, Zoe, befriended Y/N. And even after she had told them she had a boyfriend, they still tried to recruit her. It never sat right with me, the way Artemis seemed so okay with breaking up a relationship.
“It’s for you,” I told Y/N, handing her the note. I handed her the note and she took it. She just sighed before stuffing it back into the satchel. “I don’t know why she’s so determined to recruit you.”
“I don’t know either,” she said, already tying our stuff to the sled. “But she’s gonna be disappointed because I’m kind of really into this one guy. I don’t know if you know him but he’s the son of Hermes. He’s gonna be a great Greek hero.” Her praise was enough for me to let go of my anger. Stooping down, I pressed a kiss to her lips.
The pack of sled dogs was perfect for the Canadian wilderness except for one problem. There was no snow. Still, they managed to pull us so smoothly it was like snow.
Soon enough, we pulled up to a garden. If it weren’t for the fact that they were literally in the middle of nowhere, this garden would be unassuming. It had a white picket fence and looked to be about an acre. Thousands of different types of plants grew, enchanting us with its smell. Off in the distance, in the middle of the garden, I could faintly see the golden fruits, the sun glinting off of them.
“The nymphs never gave Heracles a problem,” Y/N shrugged. I nodded, cautiously opening the gate, sword in hand. She held the bow up, an arrow already knocked. A quiver of them were slung over her back.
We crept in quietly, watching for signs of danger. She would watch our surroundings and made sure no nymphs attacked us while I kept an eye on the multi-headed dragon, making sure he didn’t stir.
Once we were about 20 feet away, he still wasn’t stirring. Y/N kneeled down behind some greenery, lining up her arrow. She took aim and fired. The arrow bounced harmlessly off one of the many scale covered head. The beast didn’t so much as stir. She looked back at me, as if seeking assurance. I nodded, telling her to try again. But rather than just take aim again, she crept a little closer. I almost told her to get back but I was afraid the dragon would wake up at my yelling. I held my breath, heart pounding as she tried again. This time she sunk it right through the eyelid but before either of us could react, another head moved. It snapped at her, jaws clenching around her waist. My blood turned to ice as I heard her pained scream. It was so horrifying to hear my body seemed to turn to lead.
I needed to save her. I forced my body into a run. I slashed at the neck that was currently holding my girlfriend in the air. Ladon dropped her, not without a claw slashing at me in turn. I managed to dodge it, scrambling over to Y/N. I wasn’t even comprehending whether or not she was conscious or if she was alive. I was too busy trying to tug her away. Golden fucking apples be damned.
I reached her, grabbing her by her shoulders and trying to tug her to safety. But before I could make much progress, the beast’s claw was in my face again. But I noticed it too late this time, too focused on my girlfriend’s very pale face. The claw hit me in the face, sweeping me to the side. I couldn’t feel the pain but I could see the blood seeping into my vision. I tried to wipe it away but it just kept coming. With my non-blinded eye I could see Ladon going back to his prior position as if we were nothing. Like he wasted no energy maiming us. Nonetheless, it allowed me to grab her by the shoulders, shaking her awake.
“Y/N, we need to go!” I said frantically, worried he’d come back for round two if we didn’t get out soon. “Can you walk?” I looked down at her body and knew the answer. Her shirt was covering the extent of her wounds but teeth marks, each a few inches across, tore through her shirt and there was blood. So much blood.
“With help,” she said in a strangled voice.
“Okay, good,” I nodded. Her assurance eased me slightly. I slung her arm across my shoulder before pulling her up. She screamed as I raised her off the ground but nevertheless gritted her teeth and bore it.
“No!” she cried as I tried to wrap my arm around her to support her weight. I realized that in doing so I’d be pressing into her wounds. She sobbed in pain the entire time we slowly stumbled out of the garden. It pained me to hear her cries but I had to get her out of here. If I could just get her to the sled I could give her some ambrosia and she’d be fine.
When I finally got her outside the gate, I laid her down. I’d get her onto our transportation once she wasn’t in such a critical condition. “Hold on, I’ll get you some ambrosia,” I told her, moving toward the sled. But the weakest tug held me back.
I looked down at her, finding blood, sweat, and tears covering her face. “No,” she cried. Tears were pouring down her face as sobs wracked her body. “Ambrosia won’t help.”
“Hey, hey, hey,” I held her face. Oh, her beautiful face. My heart clenched seeing it twisted in agony. “You’re gonna be fine. I promised you. I’m not a liar…” Tears were falling down my face now. She’s not fine. I realized that I’d become an unknowing liar.
Her hand reached up to my face, her thumb swiping over my blood covered cheek. “You’re not a liar. We were doomed from the start.” She took a labored breath and deep inside, I knew it was the end for her.
“Come on, no. Don’t leave. Please don’t leave,” I cried. I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into my lap. As if physically holding on to her would keep her from slipping through my fingers like the wind. “Just hold on until I can get you to a hospital.”
“We don’t have time.” A small smile tugged at her face and I knew she was smiling through the pain for my sake. “I love you, Luke. Promise me you’ll move on?”
“What? No. You know I won’t. You’re the love of my life,” I insisted.
“Please, at least try?” she asked. “I don’t want you following me too soon,” she tried to joke. But her laugh turned into pained sobs as the movement hurt her body.
I cried harder seeing her in so much pain. Her breathing was getting shallower and more labored. “Fine, I’ll try,” I swore. Lie. “I love you. So much.”
“I’ll see you in Elysium,” she said through a peaceful smile. It would be a welcome sight if it weren’t for the blood bubbling up out of her mouth. I turned her to the side slightly so she wouldn’t choke on it but it wasn’t enough. The blood was coming faster and her body was shutting down. “I love you,” she whispered before her eyes fluttered shut.
“No, wake up!” I cried, shaking her slightly. “Wake up!” Her breaths were getting shorter and I was getting more desperate. “Do something!” I yelled up at the sky. Her father. My father. Anyone! But no one came. Her wounds didn’t stitch themselves together and her eyes didn’t open. I held her tightly, sobbing into her shoulder long after she stopped breathing. Even the dogs started howling at the gods when her heart stopped beating.
~~~
“That’s why I hate the gods,” I murmured to Percy, watching the scorpion slowly creep up his leg. “They finally granted me a quest. It was all I ever wanted. But it was a joke. All my father wanted to do was piss off Hera and he was okay with using me and my girlfriend as collateral damage. And her father, Apollo,” the name came out of his mouth like venom, “the god of prophecy and healing let his daughter die. He knew she was going to die, even before the quest. And when he had the opportunity to save her, he ignored her.”
“I’m sorry she died but-”
“No!” I cut Percy off. “It would be one thing if she just died but she died over a fucking prank war. She died an agonizing death. Her aunt, Artemis, intervened in our quest but she still let her niece die a slow, painful death. They didn’t even help me bring her back to camp so she could be buried properly. I had to bury her in the woods like I had killed her and was covering up a crime.” I swiped away a tear as I noticed it slip down my face. I still couldn’t decide what was worse. Feeling her die in my arms or leaving her out there in the woods to rot. “And to make matters worse, no one seemed to care that she died. When I finally got back to camp a month later, they just pitied me. I begged Chiron to let me and some others go get her so we could give her a proper funeral but he refused. And when I tried to get others to join me to convince him, no one would go. After a couple days no one seemed to care that Y/N L/N was dead. A week later, another Apollo camper was claimed and they just gave her bunk away to him. Like she meant nothing.”
“But why Kronos? I’ve never heard of a demigod turning away from the gods. Even when horrible things happened.”
I sighed in contentment, remembering the projection he showed me. “Because he can bring her back. We’ll be immortal and without pain forever. He showed her to me. He said she’s happy in Elysium but she misses me,” I smiled softly. “But she misses camp too,” I laughed bitterly. “Annabeth, Grover, she probably would’ve missed you had you two met. But she never got the opportunity. But now, with Kronos, I’ll get to give her everything she wants.” I looked over at the kid. He seemed so deep in thought I wasn’t sure he’d heard me. “Goodbye Percy,” I said as I stood.
“I’ll tell everyone at camp about you!” he called after me.
“If you make it. Pit scorpion venom will kill you in 60 seconds. Even if you do make it, I’ll still be long gone.”
~~~
I sunk the blade into my Achilles heel, destroying Kronos’ life source inside me. I laughed as I could feel him leaving me. And continued to laugh as I fell to the ground and felt my own life draining out of me. Looking up, I found Annabeth above me, her curls hanging in my face. “I’m gonna see Y/N,” was all I said.
Tears welled in her eyes as I felt her comforting hand stroke my hair. “Yeah you are. I know how much you missed her.”
“I’ll see you there too,” I promised her, just like Y/N promised me.
~
I stood in front of the Judges of the Underworld. I knew I messed up in my life but my sacrifice had to amount to something. And I had to get to Elysium. “Luke Castellan,” Minos read my name. “You are charged with… starting a war against the gods?” he read in disbelief. “Why were you not immediately sentenced to the Fields of Punishment?” If I still had a heart it’d be in my feet right now. I couldn’t go to the Fields of Punishment. “You should have cut your losses and taken the express line to the Fields of Asphodel.”
“Keep reading,” Rhadamanthus said, not even looking up from the papers.
Minos rolled his eyes but kept going. “Oh, you sacrificed yourself, killing Kronos and saving Olympus and all of humanity. Hmm. Well, you did still start a war with the gods.”
Aeacus leaned over. “Minos, this really is more of a formality than anything. All the gods have already given him a pass.”
Minos huffed. “Fine,” he picked up a gold gavel, “Elysium!” he declared.
Before I could even thank him I was transported into what looked like the Apollo cabin. It was strange, I knew this was supposed to be the Apollo cabin but it didn’t have all the bunks. It looked like a normal house but something about it felt so familiar. I looked around, realizing I was standing in the living room. This must be Y/N’s house, it even smelled like her. Decorating the walls were pictures of her and her friends and siblings. But on the mantle and side tables were pictures of us. I picked one up, noticing the fingerprint markings all over it. She must pick it up a lot.
Looking around, I found glass French doors in the kitchen that led outside. The view was breathtaking. Mountains rose up on either side of the bluest lake I had ever seen. I went outside, intending to enjoy the view. As I stepped outside I could smell fresh air and feel a perfect breeze. “Hey stranger,” a voice came from beside me. I turned, immediately letting out a choked sob as I saw her sitting there. She stood, coming to me and I immediately snatched her into my arms. She shushed me, stroking my back as I sobbed in her shoulder. “You came way earlier than I wanted but I’m glad to see you.”
I pulled away so I could see her face. The blood, sweat, and tears were gone. It was just her beautiful, perfect face. “You’re actually here,” I said, reaching a hand up to her face. I was terrified she’d disappear again just like she did when Kronos showed her to me in my dreams.
“I’m here. And so are you,” she smiled. “We’ll be immortal and without pain forever,” she swore.
“I love you so much.”
“I love you too, Luke.”
~
Decades later we were opening our door to see Percy and Annabeth standing there. “Y/N!” Annabeth cried, jumping into my wife’s arms.
“Hey Annabeth!” she laughed, clutching the woman in a hug.
I looked over to Percy, finding him with smile lines and salt and pepper hair. “Hey cuz,” I smiled, extending my hand. Percy shook it and pulled me into a hug which I returned. I patted him on the back as I pulled away. “You know you can look any age you want here? You don’t have to be an old man.”
“I’m not an old man,” he insisted. “I was 80. Just anything older than 16 year old me looks old to you.”
I shrugged, he wasn’t wrong. I turned to Annabeth, giving her a hug too.
Y/N took Percy’s hand. “Percy, it’s so nice to finally meet you. Everyone from camp whose already here has said great things.”
He smiled at her. “I’ve heard the same about you,” he returned, glancing at me. “Well we brought blue cake for dessert.”

I think he is still a writer but not the actual author of mdzs. He's a relatively casual fan who admires the vision and winces in sympathy every time drama gets kicked off. This is why you don't try, mdzs author! You give the people what they want and take their money. He's originally planning on keeping his head down and learning just enough cultivation from the Lan to make his life easier than it otherwise would be, then getting an urgent letter from his sick mother right before the Wen are scheduled to attack, but alas, his wandering not-cultivator dumpling sabbatical puts him directly in Jiang Cheng's path while he's frantically running for help after leaving Wei Wuxian in the Xuanwu cave. And the thing is he's still kind of reflexively haughty when he needs something? So pathetic and vulnerable. So cute. What could possibly be the harm in giving him a ride? The Wen aren't scheduled to attack Lotus Pier for ages. He can be on a ship to Dongyin by that time!
Anyway no good deed goes unpunished because Jiang Fengmian does as a general rule believe in giving credit and naming names. He should have fucking known. Now Wen Chao has a grudge against him and he's running around under a fake name wracking up credit for things he did (while trying to run away) and things he did not do (sometimes even when you have a massive army and the most powerful cultivator in the world on your side, things go wrong! He's not responsible for every problem with Wen supply lines. He's responsible for exactly one cart blowing up, and he was just trying for a distraction so he could sneak onto a ship. It didn't work and the harbour is kind of a no-go zone for him now). He comes up with a new plan: find Huaisang and use his shitty unwanted heroic reputation and talent for creative pornography to worm his way into the young master's guard, where he can get some writing done far from the front lines. Unfortunately, he once again stumbles across Jiang Cheng, who is tragically trying to rebuild his sect and searching for a missing shixiong. Shang Qinghua is still a logistics guy, because he was doing grunt work for the Lan and also I feel like that's the shape any transmigration setting is going to bend into around him. Jiang Cheng is so grateful to see a familiar face. He knows the value of a good spreadsheet. His eyes are so pretty when he's trying not to cry. The Jiang aren't in a great place during the war, but Shang Qinghua knows the sect makes it through and he doesn't remember any Jiang disciples being asked to heroically sacrifice themselves after Lotus Pier falls. Plus the food is better and there's plenty of room at the top! A veritable power vacuum. To say nothing of all the empty space in Jiang Cheng's personal life when almost everyone he loves dies and leaves him alone! Anyway this is the story of how Shang Qinghua accidentally paints a series of targets on his back, unnecessarily involves himself in the plot, and overcomplicates his life because being a sucker for a pretty face and a bad personality is even more integral to his character than underappreciated grunt work. Probably he manages to save Yanli, at least. He's not interested in being a stepfather! That's a lot of work. Wei Wuxian barely notices he exists until either he saves everyone or the second life roles around, depending on how ambitious and/or motivated Shang Qinghua is feeling. Then he hates him passionately, but it's too late. They probably eventually reach some kind of begrudging peace.

Honestly I feel like the show should have leaned more into Blitz and Fizz's reconnection and just slipped Stolas entirely. Like, if you wanted Stolitz drama, there it is. If you wanted some kind of tension, it pretty much writes itself. Instead of sending the crystal to Stolas, Fizz has it sent straight to Blitz. Blitz returns the book to Stolas who is super confused and actually kinda petty about it. Blitz and him have their huge falling out where Blitz finally has the leverage to say "Whatever you thought we had 25 years ago was a delusion you came up with. I had a best friend and it wasn't ever you. The only reason I even slept with you was because I had no one else. And even though I hated the fact that my worth to you was just my dick, it was still more value than I had for myself."
And Stolas realizes his whole fabricated slutty love story was all his own belief and, yes, he absolutely threw away his reputation and daughter over an imp. But he's not necessarily jarred that he's realized that Blitz is an imp, he knew that. But realizing Blitz only ever saw himself as "an imp" and that there never was any sort of equality in the dynamic. And Stolas never really made room for Blitz either.
It would have been so easy to close the book on the stolas story, fizz is already more likeable, popular, and with a far more deep layered story with the main character than this disconnected owl is. Fizz is connected to not only his romantic past but his friendship, his family, and an enemy as well? And he’s connected to major adversaries (Ozzies - Verosika - Tex - Loona - Bee - back to Asmodeus) Holy shit it’d be easy for him to connect to the 4 with these social connections. Stolas has none. Just being a yandere over Blitzøs junk.
Viv honestly thinks stolas’ arranged marriage deserves more screen time and sympathy than the very thing responsible for the scars on the main characters face that he has always had and will always have to live with. She thinks stolas’ arranged marriage is more tragic than the circus fire. But it’s just not.
Also to add more to what you said
— what tipped Blitzø over was that stolas said he was his first ever friend**
— he did it out of pity, not attraction
— he only consented to one night. Stolas violated that by creating a monthly contract under duress. Even if he stole from him, that response doesn’t make any sense. And not to mention, it feels like a punishment.
If this is Blitzøs story, as it claims to be, and not the stolas show, Blitzø MnM and Loona are protagonists. The only character who functions as an antagonist is stolas, he’s not a hero. And he’s trying to take away Moxxie and Fizz’s roles in the story as the slightly meek counterpart he has a back and forth with at work, and his childhood friend with untold feelings tension and shared traumas.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 1 Review (1/3)
What I like:
It has color! Disney tends to do their live actions shows/series dark or gray ,so I am pleasant to see colors popping up on the screen. Walker's eyes and the orange shirts are a highlight for me!
Set design is impressive! The team behind it did an excellent job. Each cabin is INSANE! Olympus is sooooo marvelous as well!
I was doubting of Lin being casted as Hermes but he proved me wrong and he did a great job
NICO DI ANGELO'S VOICE!
The credits are so cool and cute! Love the art!
Like the casting for Ares, Dionysus, Poseidon, Sally and Hephaestus
NICO DI ANGELO SCREAMING "BIANCA"
I can see why Walker was chosen as Percy. He fits the character so well, has the vibe, the mannerism, the eyes. My only complaint is the hair, they could and should have made him wear a wig. If Miley Cyrus could do it, Walker can! They have the money to buy one, there are not excuses
Seeing the Mythomagic deck was super cool! Love the design!
Cerberus!
In all seriousness, they foreshadowing the di Angelo siblings using their voices was smart AF, because casting them at this point requires a lot of hard work, time and money that may not pay off
Percy driving scene,love it!
The scene of Grover being pulled to Tartarus is really well done and faithful to the books, truly makes you feel the tension of the moment!
Sally in the rain while Logical by Liv Rodrigo is playing is incredible, completely in love with that scene! My girl just wants to feel a ounce of how she felt while being with Poseidon,it is so tragic!
The Lightning Bolt and Hades Helmet are sooo cool, really well design,I want them!
Ares bleeding Ichor!
The interaction between Poseidon and Percy was cute and I like what Poseidon said about Percy having trouble following rules, but that it was his fault because that is how the ocean is . Super wholesome moment!
Percy calling Kronos grandpa is hilarious
Stuff I feel conflicted about:
Even if I love to see what Mythomagic looks like, I feel that making it a demigod stuff instead of Nico's precious hobby takes away from him. The game is in part a connection to his past, to his era, his sister and a side that divides him from the rest. Nico feels like an outcast even among outcasts, and the other demigods feel he is kinda strange. Even Percy, who tried to be friendly, thought Mythomagic was lame. I don't know, I just think it should be only his stuff
What I dislike:
The entire cast looks nothing like their book counterparts and it is distracting to me. I am going to compare it to the One Piece Live Action to explain my feelings. With OP I did not need to be told who was who ; and I already was fangirling that Coby was in the background,or Buggy will be next episode, or Helmeppo is hot for some reason, etc. Here I was like "some dudes are looking at Percy,is he supposed to be Luke? I do not know. He may be,but I am not sure." And hey, look at that ,he turned out to be Luke!. I don't know,I don't love that, it takes away from the experience and characters
Percy was angsty in a way that feels out of character to me. Like,in the books he was sad that his mother "died",obviously, but he still had his kindness. Here, his anger was more reminiscent of Harry after Sirius died in the books. Trashing everything, yelling, full of fury. And it felt wrong for Percy to act like that. For example: in the books when Percy finally wakes up, he tells Grover that they are still friends and that he know he did everything in his power to help him and his mother. In the show Percy is super cold and actively distances himself from Grover until the quest is going to start, and it feels like Percy chose Grover to go with him because that's how the book go, yet Show Percy dont feel particularly excited for Grover to be there,he dont seems to miss him after their fight , nor thinks of him as his best friend. He said himself "finally I have friend" referring to Luke and the other guys in camp, meaning Grover was not. Which takes me to the next point
Grover is treated awfully by the writers. Everyone keeps telling him to go away. Chiron and Mr D. seem tired of him. In Lotus Casino, Percy and Annabeth acted like they were forgiving him for forgetting them, even if they knew it wasn't his fault that he didn't remember. The writers made the naiad give Percy four pearls only to make Grover lose one, which was unnecessary and just makes him look stupid or incompetent. The list goes on,you get the idea. Grover is not treated with respect by either writers or the narrative
We were told but not shown Annabeth's fear of spiders (that is another problem of the show,it tells but don't show), they didn't mention her passion for architecture and dreams of becoming an architect. Also,I don't love the idea of her listening to Luke's plan. My girl is supposed to still have hope for Luke to change his mind, she believes in his kindness and is in negation and defends him when people calls him "evil" for four books in a row. They taking away all these details ,plus she not having a crush on Luke feels like they are taking away what makes Annabeth herself while removing the side of her that is just a teenager girl. She is supposed to be kind as well, that is why people like Frank feel safe asking her for help because he knows she is not going to laugh of him. Here she is way more stoic. You can be smart and warm at the same time,Rick. It is possible, you wrote it that way 18 years ago
Sally yelling to Percy. I know that people say we should not trust Book Percy's POV because he sees his mom as perfect (fair point) but I think that if Percy has such a great perception of her is for a reason. Also ,I am willing to believe that if Percy says his mother never got mad and screamed at him for being expelled from schools,it's because is true. In the show almost all the flashbacks are her shouting at him. Book Sally don't do that because she understands, she knows who Percy's father is,she knows what having a child of him would mean, she knows that the magical and strange stuff that Percy experience is not his fault; that is why she is patient and kind, and what makes her such a great, mature, kind mother; and they took that away from her.
The acting was not the best in the first episodes. Now ,it got better as the show went on, but in the first 3 episodes legit feels like they are reading the script from a carbon board. I do not know if it is because of the directors or lack of experience playing the characters and that is why it improves later on or what, but it is really noticeable
They are skipping or cutting scenes really weirdly , just fading to black and showing the aftermath of situations. Like Sally's car crashing after the Minotaur attack. At one point we see the Minotaur coming, then the screen goes to black and next scene they are crashed. Or with the animal escape we see them in the car and next scene they are in the streets free. It makes the pacing feel strange, takes away the momentum and feels kinda lazy coming from such a big production.
They tell us but do not show the magic in this world and is frustrating! For example, in Narnia no one tells Lucy or us the rules but we see it. With the music cue we know the Wardrobe is special in some way. The she gets inside it and walks backwards, and keeps going and keeps going and keeps going, which is weird, and there are trees! Later, when Mr Tumnus plays his flute, we see that it's magical and makes Lucy fall asleep; and after that she returns to the normal world and we know hours have passed yet Peter is still counting, meaning in our world just have been seconds. In the Percy Jackson's world an easy way to show the magic is with the Mist, but instead they decided to just tell us everything with endless, boring exposition dialogue
Connected with the prev point, they never figure out who any of the creatures/monsters are (except from Echidna) and is boring. Every scene is the trio meeting them and immediately going "you are Medusa", "You are Crusty and here is all the information about you". Yes,the characters know them from myths, but each creature/monster has gone through changes to blend in modern times, making it tricky to be immediately recognizible, that's the fun of the books.
I also feel the world building was lacking. Like people who are watching the show without having read the books do not know there is no Hades Cabin or which Cabin is for which God. Bet some of them think the first three Cabins are for Zeus, Poseidon and Hades but no; Cabin 2 is Hera's and is and always will be empty because she is the goddess of marriage, meaning she is 100% loyal to Zeus. And please correct me if I am wrong, but they did not mention the Mist nor Ambrosia, isn't it? Because I genuinely can not recall. All these details are important and are missing. They are also wasting the opportunity of foreshadow future characters. Like how cool would be to see an 8 year old Will! Or get know Cabin 9 and Beckendorf, that would give Percy a connection with him earlier than in the books and make us book readers hype to see Leo's Cabin!
The friendship with Luke feels underdeveloped. Percy says "finally I have friends" but I feel he barely knows him and we dont even know the name of the other dudes who supposedly are his friends. The show could have benefited from having two full episodes taking place in the Camp and moving the flashbacks from episode 8 to episode 2, it would feel more natural
Luke not having his scar. The reason I think it is important is because for Luke looking himself in the mirror is a constant reminder of his father, his grudge towards him, his quest and the failure it was and the shame he feels about it. All those feelings boiled down inside him and is the reason he joins Kronos. Taking the scar away takes that complexity. See it as the equivalent of Zuko's scar in the Percy Jackson universe

SALAAR (SPOILER ALERT)
continuing my tags from a previous post (sorry 😭 @deadloverscity) : like i said, i do think salaar is a good story so far. I like the world-building, I like the tribe coalition system that becomes a background for our story, and i like the fact that varadha and deva are in a toxic yaoi relationship.
im not gonna lie tho, i just haaaate the cinematography and lighting in prashant neel's movies. it's always a bad time there. It's like slapping a vignette over every frame of the movie, and it takes away any colour whatsoever. I understand that he wants to go for a dark vibe, but trust me, dark vibes can be achieved even without making the entire movie dark and invisible. I literally cannot see the actors doing any action! It's bad! It's not enjoyable. As a typical Telugu moviegoer (and assuming the movie was made for a predominantly telugu audience), I enjoy a somewhat vibrant colour scheme. So far, in all of our movies and even the mega movies (if you have watched RRR and Baahubali) there is a lot colour and imagery going on in the movies. I think in Prashant neel's cinemas, all of this is taken away. He has a set of colours that appear in his films consistently - which are black, grey and red. This colour scheme i feel, if repeatedly used, can be a bit boring and may take away the vibrance of the story. the stark contrasts (imo) do not emphasise the story, they overshadow it. still, take this w a grain of salt.
However, considering the fact that this is just his fourth film, ill cut him some slack. But man, if he is going to make movies for a telugu audience, i hope he lets go of the vignette filter.
next, the worldbuilding. i like it - here is a country that is completely separated from india, yet dictates certain aspects of it. i like that they chose an isolated place that evolves in parallel with the mainland, but retains the values of the tribes, making this place mythical and real at the same time. i was really intrigued by the tribe lore - about how the mannars ousted the shouryangas, and how rajamannar basically went against his own father's rule-book and is now facing dire consequences from bharava, whose tribe has the right to the throne right now. i also love love love loveeeeeee the fact that deva is the rightful heir to the throne - and also also the fact that whether he knows about this or not is left ambiguous. i love how this adds another layer to amma's hatred of khansaar and OH. MY. GOD. chef's kiss i love it.
as a personal taste, i don't like violence and epic fights tm overshadowing the narrative, which i feel the movie does. however, kannada film-making might be different. idk, i havent seen many kannada films other than kantara and kgf. the former is good i absolutely love it - the story is fantastic, the fight scenes are chumma, ufff i can praise it for days. the latter is pretty meh for me.
another thing i love about the movie is.. well, varadha and deva. dude, what is up with telugu guys unintentionally making queer movies these days? what is up with that yallll??? ohmygod. when i tell you that i smelled the romance im not lying. dude. dudeee. the whole friends to enemies to (maybe) friends/lovers arc theyve got going on? oooh baby i can feel the fanfics writing themselves. the whole soaked in blood-fighting-together scene? it was a miracle i wasnt jumping up and down on my seat. the dialogue in that scene 'i have friends more handsome than you' and then varadha getting kinda jealous and shit. lovely. the whole don't touch him thing that deva has got going on - baby boy just kiss him. and man. it's beautiful tragic and im writing a fanfic.
soo yeah this is my rant about salaar. im expecting something from it lol.

Hello <3 Because I always find it to be such a sweet thing to take care of Viktor, could the reader do 'tying their shoe when you notice the laces flying around'? It being sort of a thing that the reader just starts doing the actions that they know Viktor would have a harder time with. (Just like how taller people will get things from high places for shorter people). The reader makes sure he doesn't have to kneel or bend down because of his back and leg. Or walk to much (running around for him)
Hi! I'm so sorry this one took so long JKSHDJHFHJFHJ 🤡🤡 I hope you like it! ❤❤ *proceeds to run away*  🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️
All Our Ways to Say "I Love You"
Viktor x gn!Reader--------1K--------SFW
Tags: Domestic Fluff| Kinda cheesy I'm not sorry| Established Relationship
Viktor learned a lot of things every day.
It wasn’t just about Hextech. Perhaps, in the beginning, he’d been fooled into thinking all his meaningful discoveries were rooted in science and technology development.
But certainly not anymore.
Ever since enrolling into Piltover’s Academy, he must focus on his priorities: maximize his opportunities to climb the tricky social ladder so he could help the people in need as much as Viktor could have the ability to.
It took time—a long one— to comprehend his deeds were a result of love.
Thinking about his creations bettering the life of somebody in need made him feel a warm feeling in his chest, which he thought was pride and nothing more.
Until that feeling appeared again.
He loved his hometown, cherishing the memories, both good and bad, that shaped him into what he was now. He loved his parents and the way they went out of their built-in paths to show kindness to those that were seeking it. They were the ones that taught him to try and emulate it. He loved his creations and the knowledge, the discovery of new horizons.
So, Viktor tried. He was never the one who had a wide social circle, but he was sure to treasure everyone that was persistent and patient enough to linger near his presence.
He spent time with Jayce sharing nerdy in-jokes while tinkering at the lab, helping him to solve a tricky equation. Particularly, he’d pour his actions into a particular someone: making your company for lunchtime, listening happily at anything you would enthusiastically be rambling about—more often than not, about things he didn’t even have a shallow knowledge about. But he’d ask, and he would delight himself in the sound of your voice explaining to him.
Before, Viktor had considered love to be a strange, cryptic world he wasn’t particularly interested to visit. Picturing all the tiring, tragic love stories swarming the opera functions; and the cheesy, totally unbelieving novels that book covers he only peeked on his way to the physics area inside the library.
But something stung deep inside his chest whenever he thought about you that way.
He had to venture into it.
And Viktor learned that love was, shockingly, everywhere around for him. In every heartwarming memory of his parents playing with him as a child, in his mother’s kisses and father’s hugs; in every nerdy joke said by Jayce accompanied by a pat on his shoulder. And of course, in each fleeting kiss, you managed to steal when he was working, in the shy way your arm interlocked with his when you were walking.
Viktor got uncomfortable with an open demonstration of physical affection, and he was still puke-inducingly nervous while thinking about saying ‘I love you’. For that, his way of showing love could be a little… particular, but that didn’t make it less special.
Nevertheless, love made its way.
You had a whole cabinet filled with little figurines Viktor tinkered in discarded metal foils, from butterflies to flowers, even some animals. He helped you fix broken furniture in your home and soothed you to fall asleep in those restless nights while reading out loud some random book he picked from his nightstand.
Mimicking him, you picked up similar customs. Love affirmations may be scarce, but it wasn’t uncertain that the feeling laid each time you guided him to stand tall against a wall of one not-so-crowded hallway in the Academy while you kneeled to tie his right shoelace.
“Ah—than-thank you,” he would stammer, his cheeks all red and hands grabbing the cane’s handle with extra force. You always considered it very cute.
He also considered how cute you were willing to run errands for him. To the laundry, to the lab to bring him lunch when he forgot to put it in his bag, and to make him company when he was going to work overtime. Even picking up some of his medicines—reminding him to take them when he was nose-deep into work.
You wouldn’t make him confess, but he liked your unkempt hair messed by the wind when you entered the lab, face flushed for the exercise, and the brightest smile he’d ever seen when your eyes set on him.
“I brought lunch!” you claimed, triumphant, raising a bag filled with food. Jayce would take one plate and disappear quietly—he would return in an hour and a half with some pastry for you and Viktor.
But now, with the lab all alone for you two, Viktor would clear his worktable to let you sit on it, your legs wiggling in the air as you two ate. Pretending any of you were looking at the other from the corner of your eyes.
While Viktor would reach out for things from taller cabinets to give them to you—why was your cereal always in the highest one?— you’d do the same to accommodate the freshly bought vegetables in the lower drawers inside the fridge.
Actually, you would change your clothes arranged in the closet so his things could be in the higher sections.
He noticed, of course. When you were squatting while looking for the matching top for your outfit. “You don’t have to bother with that.”
“I don’t mind. I like to do things to make you feel better. Because you make me feel that way,” you said. “Besides, it helps. With your leg cramps. I know because I massage you when you get all cramped out, so don’t lie to me.”
Viktor arched his brow, a crooked smile showing part of his teeth. He still smiled like his child-self would have to, and it always made you feel giddy.
“Such a bossy-boots,” he replied, half-choking with a chuckle. Viktor looked at your precarious position, so he reached to disarrange your hairstyle with his hand. “Your purple cardigan isn’t in there. I have it.”
“Oh?” your legs collapsed, and you were sitting on his shoes—you didn’t notice him walking so close. “With whose permission?”
He shrugged, feeling your hands holding one of his legs and his cane. “Someone likes to steal my sweaters, so I thought it would only be fair.”
You giggled then, head tilting to one side to see him clearly. “I love you, Viktor.”
His face became a deep pink, but his golden eyes were gentle while scanning every feature as he would like to engrave you in his memory.
“You know how much I love you, don’t you?”
Your head brushed his pants as you nodded, and he cupped your hand resting atop his other one over the cane’s handle. “Yes, every day.”
Viktor hummed, proud and happy. And he was convinced the warm sensation pooling from his stomach to every part of his body each time he looked at you was love, too.

So… what was the point of Theo?
They set him up as early as arc 11, but he doesn’t really do anything?
He doesn’t stop Jack. He’s kinda sad about it. His family is composed entirely of Nazis. He’s kinda sad about it. His family is grey boy bubbled. He’s kinda sad about it. He puts a rift between himself and Taylor. He’s kinda sad about it. He named himself Golem. He’s kinda sad (and weirdly mean?) about it (seriously how do you, the child of Nazis, name yourself after a Jewish thing and then talk about how you regret it because the Golem is too mindless??? That’s so messed up what is wrong with you).
Maybe it’s just me but while all of these ideas are mentioned, none of them really feel relevant or like they’re explored. What really nailed this in for me was how Theo comments on Hookwolf. He has a little internal monologue about how he didn’t like Hookwolf cause he was a jerk, but he doesn’t talk to him about it. He doesn’t even yell at him or something. Did Hookwolf ever get his memories back? He could have taunted him with his failure to accomplish his dream or with the fact Hookwolf doesn’t know who he is. But nothing ever comes of it. What was the point of bringing it up?
I feel like the story pays some lip service to all these themes and ideas but never really explores them. Is there some key to it that I was missing? It mentions that he tries to cover his emotions up to put on a front. That could explain why he doesn’t really touch too heavily on topics, but that never comes to a head either. Also, there’s already a character I like more that covers those ideas: Grue.
Here’s my fun little counter pitch though: We just replace him with Sophia.
Jack nominates Sophia instead of Oni Lee before she is shipped out of the bay and instead of being sent to prison she works out the same deal with him about killing him in two years to save herself.
She still puts up this front about not caring about anyone so she acts like she doesn’t care about her family being on the line. She might try to run away at first but she gets caught by the prt who force/convince her somehow to stay and train/fight.
Maybe something happens with the nine that scares her enough to stay and train. Maybe Bonesaw puts a tracker on her and Amy’s not around anymore to remove it. Then, when Taylor becomes weaver, she’s still scared enough to put up with her the same way Taylor is willing to put up with her because of the end of the world.
Emma’s emotional state went differently because she never separated from Sophia in the same way. After Weaver shows up, she sees Sophia and Taylor working together on the news. Maybe she feels more alone then ever. Maybe this is the push that’s needed to finally get her help.
Sophia grows and develops over the time skip. She works hard and she even reconnects with her family.
This is why it hits ten times harder when they get grey boy bubbled and Taylor kills her younger sibling. She thinks of all the time she lost when she was younger and hated/was apathetic to her family. How her family is suffering forever because of her rash decisions when she was younger.
When she fails to take down Jack it’s a major blow in how she failed both in stopping him and getting revenge. When grey boy gets taken down without her she feels more powerless than ever. She breaks down and shows emotion, maybe for the first real time in the whole book (echoing Taylor’s breakdown with the end of the world).
Maybe she even kills Hookwolf, and it doesn’t make her feel better. While it’s still good that the nazi is gone and she’s protected people from him but she realizes that having power over others doesn’t really make her feel better and she finally realizes that she needs to heal and connect with people she cares about. This made all the more tragic by how her family is gone and it’s too late.
Maybe she says something about this to Taylor at the end and it influences how she fights scion. Taylor takes one last lesson from an enemy except this time it’s a gift instead of a scar.
We see Sophia in the epilogue. Maybe Sofia’s power allows her to affect grey boys bubble a little, lessening her family’s pain somehow. Letting her move past barriers between her and others instead of dodging and running from things.

please tell me all about in the blood (no pressure, i am genuinely interested though!!!!!!)
AHHAHHAHHHHHAAAA YES OKAY THANK YOU ELI
OKAYYYY SO in the blood, doctor who extended universe book, i think it takes place pretty soon after the Silence in the Library arc cos that's mentioned quite a bit, and Donna's husband Lee (who was, i may add, i think going to be canonically trans but they weren't sure how to show that in a split second without it being confusing but he's trans in my heart) from the simulation is on Donna's mind a fair bit so my guess is it's pretty soon after that ANYWAYS, fairly standard doctor who plot, big problem with technology and people on earth and of course it's because Aliens. specifically its that internet trolls are dying and ofc The Internet gets worked up about that, but as more and more people start venting their anger online everyone gets more and more angry and they become hysterical and sometimes die. which obviously is a big problem they have to solve, i won't give away the plot but its fairly average dr who stuff.
BUT. OHH BOY THE CHARACTERSSSSSSSASASSaSSASaSAS i mean i love ten & donna anyways but they are written SO WELL like SOOOO WELL it's SPOT ON and it's so perfect because they do the same things they always do - the doctor is fully prepared to die (well. very painfully regenerate) just as he always does and uhhh actually maybe it's better if i take pictures there was a lot of frantic margin scribbling & underlining hehee
uhm. spoilers below. and very long post
Tumblr media
my handwriting is nigh-on-illegible here i know but it says 'she remembers the Arachna-things [one google search later - Racnoss] from the Runaway Bride she knows he has killed people & that people get killed around him but... [long pause here as i thought of what to write. how do you justify that? greater good?] yeah i can imagine it really is easier to not think about it'.
this is just such an interetsing thing that they couldn't have shown in the show right, you can't show 'she didn't even really like to think about it' visually with the same impact. but like.... yeah. she saw him kill all the racnoss & still travels with him. moral grey areas flawed characters but.... the companions must do some serious mental gymnastics NOT TO MENTIOn the Doctor coping mechanisms or lack thereof.
Tumblr media
^^but then there's this!! the hope!! he really can't stand people dying even when he is surrounded by it!! he has to hope!!!
Tumblr media
^^ platonic doctordonna moment!!!!! i love them so much heheeee but also Lee.... oughhhhh
Tumblr media
^^ SUCH A DOCTOR MOMENT he HAS to carry on for the sake of THE WORLD even when it means Donna is at risk
Tumblr media
^^handwriting id - 'see THAT is such a Doctor moment - just like ' 'yeah i knew for ages', lied the Doctor' - he doesn't tell people things b/c he doesn't want to upset them & he hopes that if he doesn't mention it it wont happen. if you see your own grave you have to be buried there etc. & it's maddening for everyone but also kinda tragic'
the doctor was hiding that what Donna thought was going to fix the problem wasnt going to work b/c then she's get upset & angry, which spacey stuff blah blah is whats currently killing people - but Ten (teh Doctor in general) does this A Lot, not saying everything he knows because he thinks it's going to upset/panic/hurt people/
Tumblr media
^^ THIS!! he needs his best friend!!! without saying anything & over the phone, Donna can tell!! ajsnjansh i just love them so muchhhh
Tumblr media
^^ (they were back in london in present day) the Doctor feels guilty about pulling Donna from her normal, safe life, even though like she wanted to he probably couldn't have said no to that if he tried - and putting her in mortal space danger - but also completely removed from her normal life. she doesn't live like Clara, who fits weeks of time travel in time to show up to work, she's missing out on Normal Life. she's not at home. Sylvia knows she wont be staying for dinner.
sorry a lot of this is kinda depressing BUT i promise you there are joyous bits too! the Doctor is canonically a Kate Bush fangirl!!! and donna has to stop him drinking coffee cos he'e hyperactive enough as it is lol. and -

Seriously Moony? | (Young) Remus Lupin
Tumblr media
Title: Seriously Moony?
Requested: Yes/No
Description: You’re James Potter’s sister. You’re also dating Remus Lupin…behind James’ back
No one would have thought that it was possible for James Potter to be your twin brother.
The two of you were polar opposites, it was a wonder how the two of you didn’t annoy each other every minute of every day.
Long story short, you and James got along quite well. This also made you an honorary member of the Marauders, even if you didn’t participate in your antics as much.
The only problem was, you were dating one of his best friends - Remus Lupin behind his back.
How could you not even fall in love with him in the first place? He was so sweet, kind and caring. If there was even the slightest chill in the air, he would immediately pull one of his sweaters over you. While the two of you were on a study date, he would just nudge you and hand you a piece of chocolate from under the table. And whenever the two of you were away from James’ prying eyes - he would find all the excuses to hold you as close to you as possible.
James raised a brow at you when you appeared in the common room, “Who’s sweater is that?”
You stopped in your tracks, realizing that you were still wearing Remus’ sweater that you had “permanently borrowed” from him, “Mine?”
James laughed, “Yep, doesn’t fool me sis. You don’t have a brown sweater.”
You looked at Remus who was trying to hide an amused smile, “Says who? What if I have a sweater that you don’t know about?”
“Actually that sweater does look familair but I can’t remember where I saw it.” Sirius furrowed his brows, trying to rack his brain for the memory.
“You know it kinda looks like one of the sweaters Remus has.” Peter said.
James laughed, “C’mon Peter, why would she be wearing Moony’s sweater? It’s not like they’re dating.” before he deadpanned, “You’re not dating right?”
“James, that’s just ridiculous. You would have my head if I so much gave your sister flowers, much less date her. Besides what if she just bought the sweater?” Remus said in a no nonsense voice before opening the book in his lap.
“It’s a good thing one of you has some decent common sense.” You said, turning to go up to your dorm but not before you looked at your boyfriend who smiled and shot a wink your way while James started to get occupied with Quidditch talk.
“For a second there, I thought James had figured it out.” Remus chuckled as the two of you relaxed behind the shelves in the library, leaning against the shelves with your hands intertwined. The chances of James finding you here with your boyfriend were low.
You laughed, “James wouldn’t be able to take a hint even if it danced stark naked in front of him.”
Remus laughed, pressing a kiss to your cheek, “You’re adorable, you know?”
You giggled, brushing a stray brown lock away from his eyes, “You’re more adorable.”
He smiled, pressing his forehead against yours before pulling your lips into a kiss.
Smiling into the kiss, you cupped his face in your hands as you returned the same passion and eagerness he was giving you.
Disconnecting your lips for a moment to breathe, Remus dived back in, pulling you in to straddle his lap as he devoured the feeling of his lips pressed to your soft ones.
You never wanted to leave that moment, you just wanted it to last forever. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible when you heard footsteps heading in your direction.
Immediately scrambling off Remus’ lap, the two of you stood up as Madam Pince rounded the corner, making it seem like that nothing out of the ordinary was happening.
Feeling her gaze on the two of you, you said, “You know, I get that Romeo and Juliet dying is what makes the whole thing tragic but its just stupid.”
Remus furrowed his brows, trying hard not to laugh, “How so?”
“Juliet fakes her death and tries to tell Romeo about it so that they could escape together. But, Romeo wasn’t informed of the plan and therefore kills himself which causes Juliet to do the same. If the two of them just snuck off at night and eloped then they would’ve got the happy ending they wanted.”
“You do have a point there.” He agreed.
Madam Pince walked on back to her desk and once she was out of earshot, you and Remus burst out laughing.
“What?“ You managed to ask through fits of laughter, “You have to admit, it was pretty smooth.”
“Your lucky that I’ve read Romeo and Juliet or else I would’ve just stared at you blankly.” He said.
You grinned, stepping on your tiptoes to peck his cheek, “Lucky for me I have a boyfriend who adores reading then.”
Remus rolls his eyes with a fond smile before cupping your face in his hands and pulling you in for a tender kiss.
“You know,” Lily suddenly said from the vanity in front of you, “you and Remus would honestly make an adorable couple.”
You almost spit out the hot chocolate you were drinking all over your novel, “Sorry, say what now?”
Lily merely gave a teasing smile, continuing to brush her hair in front of the mirror, “I’m just saying. You and Remus are basically like two pieces to the same puzzle.”
Raising a brow at her, you asked, “Did James put you up to this? So he could find out my reaction or something?”
“What?” Lily spun her chair around to face you, “Of course not. This is just my way of telling you to just admit your feelings for him.”
“Lily.” You deadpanned, trying to hide the smile that would pave the way for Lily Evans to read you like an open book, “You’re literally one of the top of the class. But that idea is just plain stupid.”
The red-head shrugged, “I’m just saying. Besides, wouldn’t it make the two of you happier once you finally get together?”
She paused for a moment, before giving you a look of suspicion, “Unless there’s something you’re not telling me?”
You shook your head immediately, turning your attention back to your novel - hiding the smile from her, “Why would I hide such a thing?”’
“Lily’s on to us.” You mused, looking up at your boyfriend who was reading by your side at the Black lake.
“Really?” Remus asked, not looking up, “Not surprising if you ask me.”
You chuckled, turning back to your own book, “I know. I’m actually surprised it took her this long - did you say something to her?”
“Before you blame me, try imagining how scary Lily Evans looks like when she’s threatening you while yielding a chocolate bar like a knife.” He said.
“Now I’m imagining it, I can’t really blame you.” You shrugged, “But what did you say?”
Remus grinned sheepishly, a light pink hue painting his cheeks, “Something about making progress on asking you out and all.”
“Then?”
“Then she gave me the chocolate and walked out of the common room with that smug and satisfied smile that basically says that she knows something.”
“Well, it’s not like Lily flower will go babbling on to James right?“ You said.
Remus laughed, “I have a feeling that she won’t tell him out of sheer spite and just to mess with him and make him suffer in general.”
“Do you have any plans for tonight, my love?” Remus asked, pecking your cheek as he appeared in the common room.
You giggled, “Nothing in particular. Why?”
“Well,” He said, the smile not leaving his lips, “the boys have detention tonight, so I was wondering if you wanted to have a little date?”
“If there ever comes a time that I turn down that offer, please bring me to St. Mungo’s.” You joked, pressing a brief kiss to his lips.
You and Remus were cuddling on the couch, having just finished with your date.
“You know,” he said, kissing up your neck as you straddled him, “they wouldn’t be back for another hour or two.”
You hummed, leaning back a bit to give him more access as you held on to the collar of his shirt, “And what do you suggest we do to pass the time?”
“I think you have an idea.” He whispered as he  captured  your lips in his and slipped his tongue past them.
The both of you were too caught in the moment to notice the common room door swing open.
“WHAT IN MERLIN’S BEARD IS HAPPENING HERE?”
You literally jumped out of your boyfriend’s lap as the two of you guiltily looked at your fuming brother.
Sirius, on the otherhand, was beaming - “Amazing job Moony!”
But even Sirius was scared at an angry James glaring at him, “I mean, I’m very disappointed in you.”
Lily just skipped towards the staircase leading to the girl’s dorm, “I really have nothing to say except for one thing: I knew it!”
James glare never wavered as he said, “The two of you - up to my dorm. Now.”
The two of you followed suit, not wanting to make his wrath even worse.
Once the door shut behind James’ back, you tried to explain, “Look James,”
“Seriously Moony?” James interrupted, glaring pointedly at your boyfriend, “Out of literally everyone here - you just had to go for my baby sister.”
“Excuse me, we’re literally twins.” You huffed.
“Doesn’t matter.” James said.
“It does.” You crossed your arms over your chest, “And may I remind you that I’m older? By literally 10 minutes.”
“So,” James continued, completely ignoring you as he turned back to Remus, “What do you have to say for yourself?”
“James-“ you started to say when Remus squeezed your hand and reassured you that he can handle it.
“What do I have to say for myself? I love her.” He answered, “I tried to bury these feelings away but you, of all people James, knows how hard it can be. As long as a love is genuine and sincere - it’s hard to hold back.”
“I could easily say that I love Y/N with my whole heart. And nothing can change that.” Remus said.
“And you?” James asked, turning to you.
“Now you ask me for an explanation after basically shushing me for the last five minutes.” You deadpanned.
Rolling his eyes, he said, “Go on before I change my mind.”
“So, you know how you would tease me when we were younger because I would always dream of the type of romances in the muggle books and movies.” You said before interlocking your hand with your boyfriend’s, giving him an adoring smile, “Here’s to say I proved you wrong.”
“But the thing is, loving Remus is so much better how love is portrayed in the movies and books. Looking at him, I feel like everything in the world is right and nothing could ever go wrong with it.”
James went quiet, taking off his glasses and wiping the smudges off of it before speaking up again, “As much as the two of you are sickeningly adorable - I approve.”
“But please don’t hurt each other.” He added, “I will not be able to choose sides.”
You smiled, flinging your arms around James’ neck to pull him into a hug, “You’re the best brother ever!”
He chuckled, patting your back, “I know.”

Recent visually beautiful and generally watchable Russian fantasy movies
(because I start forgetting they exist at all) Ironically, all of them are adaptations of books/comics.
Tumblr media
I Am Dragon / Он — дракон (2015) This movie is a very free adaptation of the novel "The Rite" / "Ритуал" by Maryna and Serhiy Dyachenko (Марина и Сергей Дяченко). It's a reinterpreting of an ancient tale about a maiden, a hero and a dragon. I don`t like the novel because it's very postmodern, wracks the typical fairytale plot and hurts my escapist feelings by ugly reality, but the movie is pretty fairytale-ish and nice. Firstly, it is visually beautiful and represent Slavic pseudo-medieval lore the way it should have always been in Slavic fantasy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Secondly, as a love story between a monster and a maiden, it has got A PLENTY of tropes I'm usually looking for in Chinese dramas, so I understand very well why it was pretty popular in Asia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thirdly, when I said it's visually beautiful I wasn't joking. The main hero is played not by an actor, but by a male model, who is shirtless all the time (and sometimes pantless) and has a very fit and good-looking body. It's something unbelievable that someone in Russia made a movie to please women's eyes! Really, it's insane!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The folk-rock band Мельница wrote an insanely beautiful song "Обряд" (The Rite) for this movie (more matched to the book plot, though), but it was never used as OST, which is a shame. The song is about a black sheep girl, who is denied by society and asks a dragon to come for her and to take her away, because the dragon is denied by this world just like her. You can listen to it here. The band also has a song "Змей" (The Wyrm) (based on Lev Gumilev's poem), which is more accurate to the plot of the movie: the wyrm kidnaps maidens to make them its wives, but they are all dying during the flight; at the end of the song a hero-knight is ready to shoot it in order to stop it. Listen to it here.
Tumblr media
It ends with HE, which is better than the book's obscure ending, so it is pleasure for me to rewatch it till these days.
Tumblr media
Major Grom: Plague Doctor / Майор Гром: Чумной Доктор (2021)
It is an adaptation of Russian comic series "Major Grom" by Bubble comics. I am traditionally not very happy with the source material, but it is very good reworked to be the screen play of this movie.
Tumblr media
It's very beautifully made in terms of director's, cameraman's and screenwriter's work, which is a rare thing for Russian movies. Also, the actors are young and handsome, especially the villain, which is a rare thing not only for Russian movies, but for the current Western movies, too. It has got a lot of allusions to Russian reality and a lot of beautiful views of Saint Petersburg, the second capital of Russia and one of the most beautiful Russian cities. And it has got some unusual visual solutions that turn it into a comic it should be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The plot revolves around a mysterious serial killer (kinda bad Batman), a black sheep police officer and Russian Mark Zuckerberg (kind of). Mark Zuckerberg is the best guy of this movie and I like him a lot! Серёёёёжа! 🧡🧡🧡
Tumblr media
This movie wasn't popular in Russia because of political situation in the country by the moment of its release (the both sides found out in there something insulting for them and banned it), but even if it has something like that, I honestly didn't pay attention to it. It's just a nice blockbuster with a tragic and handsome villain. The villain also has got his own BL-drama (in the comics they are really lovers, it`s as obvious as it could be shown in a Russian comic).
Tumblr media
By the way, the villain is hot, insane, ruthless, sensitive and suffering. How does he contain all of this character treats in one personality? you may ask. He doesn`t. He has dissociative identity disorder, I would answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don`t know if it works by now, but some time ago you could watch this lovely movie on Netflix.
Tumblr media
The Master and Margarita / Мастер и Маргарита (2024) This is a loose adaptation of Russian classical novel "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. I genuinely hate this book, but the adaptation reinterprets it, divides it into very interesting layers and makes it understandable and beautiful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It`s layered, so it will probably be hard to understand what layer are we currently on if you are not familiar with the original story. The first layer is an ugly Soviet reality, the second layer is a plot of the novel that the main hero is writing, a story within a story. The third layer is the insane intertwining of the first two layers. On the reality layer the Master loses his job and freedom because of friend's denunciation and becomes star-crossed lovers with a married woman. On the novel level he meets devil, who visits Moscow by chance, and the devil gives him and his woman opportunity to live their lives being free from everything that usually tortures people IRL. Somewhere among those layers is a little plot about Jesus and Pontius Pilate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The movie is visually beautiful. Although it feels pretty anti-Soviet, Soviet visuals of the movie are gorgeous. There were used the Stalin-times concepts of Moscow of the Future, the CGI buildings in frame came from the real architecture projects of those times. The Stalin Empire architecture style and views are typical for Moscow (but as I know, ironically, this all was shot in Saint Petersburg). It seems to me that this movie is heavily stuffed with visual allusions to the Western works: devil's escort looks like bunch of Pennywises, Margarita is Enchantress from Suicide Squad I, the scene of blood dripping is from Blade I etc. Usually, when I see it in Russian movies, it feels like plagiarism because I can recognize the reference but there is nothing except for these references . But here we have got the plot, so the allusions work as allusions and don`t irritate me.
Tumblr media
The movie is dark, disturbing, uncomfortable. It really makes you feel as if you watch devil and his escort marching around you; they ravage, kill and destroy everything and you can only breathlessly, helplessly and in fear watch them. The German actor playing devil is insanely good. He stole the movie and I understand why it should have been named Woland (the devil's name) instead of the current movie's name. You may want to watch it, because it's very unusual in terms of plot and visuals experience, especially when you are not familiar with the book.

A Fizziepop Take: Let's talk about the (soon to be) ex-wife from hell
Tumblr media
I’m not sure about everyone, but I personally have always loved villains and morally gray characters. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a lot of fucked up situations where no one was every really the “good guy”, not even the people I loved and trusted…. So I learned early on that bad guys aren’t always bad and even when they are, being bad isn’t always as bad as it seemed to be made out by everything on tv and in books. Having this way of thinking from a young age, it’s no surprise that some of my favorite characters in books and movies tend to be the villains. Now, as much as I love Stolas (and want his relationship with Blitz to work), I’ve kinda into Stella on this ‘I want my husband dead’ trip, and after watching “Western Energy” a few times, I think I figured out why and I can’t be the only one who feels like this, so let’s get into it!.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you know how most villains are written and portrayed, a lot of them have some sort of reason for doing whatever fucked up thing they're doing. Sometimes the excuse is a tragic backstory, or an unrequited love, or a fear that they just don’t seem to deal with very well, or to gain power over another being/beings or even keep power they already have, in some cases mental illness is even villainized in the media (which sucks since it’s not always portrayed in a realistic manner when it’s used as a reason for someone being "villainous" and ends up stigmatizing an entire group of people who suffer from the illness in ways that aren’t dramatized for the entertainment of the masses.).... But all of these reasons tend to be on the list of the reasons the villain, and the audience, try to justify whatever messed up shit they’re doing…. But here’s the thing, sometimes a person doesn’t have a reason to be an absolute fucked up beyond repair, horrible person, they just like being that way. That’s what we see with Stella.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, Stella doesn’t have a horrible tragic past to blame her cruelty on. Stolas never abused her, if anything he did his best to try to make their marriage work despite the abuse she put him through for what seems to be the entirety of their relationship. And it seems she’s never even had to smell poverty or what fear would smell like when it’s her own. As of right now, there is no reason for her cruelty that we can see except for pure enjoyment, with her even at one point telling Stolas "I like tormenting you!" when asked why she's still in his house despite having moved out pretty much completely at that point. She enjoys making Stolas’ life miserable and she hates the man enough that she tells her brother that she’d laugh when he dies and even has to be convinced to keep him alive to figure out how to get money from him since she’d likely get nothing when he dies. The woman has no regard for anyone’s life but hers unless she’s making someone else feel beyond miserable.... And, as much as I love Stolas, I love the cruelty Stella processes and how she seems to aim it all toward him, especially because she doesn’t in anyway try to hide the fact that she’s an evil bitch and she doesn't even try to. Whether she’s telling her husband that she likes making him miserable or badmouthing him to friends and family with him standing a few feet away, or even giddily admitting to her brother that she’s hired the assassin that kidnapped and off her husband, the woman has zero shame and as easy as it is to dislike her for actively hurting a fan favorite character, the sheer size of Stella’s metaphorical balls makes me love her. Despite being a ditzy, bitchy ex-wife and a bad mother from what most of us believe, and her literally torturing one of my favorite characters for sheer pleasure, Stella has earned a spot as one of my favorite villains, and moved up in the ranking of my favorite Helluva Boss antagonists.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The woman is a horrible, cold hearted, monster on the levels she’s been placed on within the show and it's literally shown that it's been that way since she was a child…. And I think that’s what makes her such a good character despite her being written very flatly otherwise. Viv made Stella a character that’s so easy to love to hate, which is something I believe every show needs. I think that’s awesome considering so many people still think that a villain needs to be made; forged in tragedy, warped by trauma, and bathed in fear and heartbreak when in reality, cruelty isn’t always something people are gifted through bad experiences. As much as we hate to admit it, some people just enjoy the way cruelty tastes and hate the way happiness looks on someone who isn’t them. Stella is a wonderful example of a villain who chose to be the way they are just because they find amusement in it. Nothing else. And call me crazy, but I love that for her and I want to see more scenes like in “Western Energy” where you can see that she knows what she’s doing isn’t just cruel, but villainous and she enjoys it. But like every post I make ranting and over analyzing the fictional world of imps and hellhounds and all of this, this is just a Fizzie take on things I probably spend too much time thinking about. But let me know what you think about Stella, and villains in general. It’s always a topic I’m down to see different perspectives and opinions on.

Today I want to introduce you my Sweet Sexy Alien Queen, Isay 😌💅❤️🔥✨
WARNING: there is A LOT of text xD (they’ve got some huge lore..)
Isay is a 2.53m nonbinary (any pronouns) polyamory, demisexual, pan(romantic/sexual) Noodle from my closed species, Sirises, humanoid intersex oviparous fire magician aliens 🫶
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MAIN FACTS ABOUT ISAY
4167 years old, slightly mad, altruist, survivalist, drifter, has no instinct of self-preservation, adores comforting their lovers and calling them with cute nicknames (and kinda intentionally pissing them off this way) xD Loves children and dreams to born their own child 💔 They was a good loving parent for adopted children many many times in the past 😌
Isay’s age - is too much even for Sirises (500-2000 is norm), but due to one tragic event - Isay simply can't die, and regenerates no matter what. As a result, Isay’s memory is damaged and scattered: sometimes Isay happens to forget big parts of their life, or even who they are, what they are, and where they came from. Isay has a ‘memory-keys’ collection to keep their memory in order: a close people's photos from past + short notes, a round glasses collection including even really aged ones, and even collection of cold gun and bullets which Isay was ever wounded by xD
Tumblr media
Isay falls in love very easily, yet is floating between demisexual/asexual ~ They don't ‘need’ intimacy, but might get interested if evolve a deep trustful relationships with someone. Isay’s sexuality depends of MANY things, including Sirise’s specific features, so, Isay’s current partner, Zack (24 y.o. human boi), is the first person who Isay got interest to try intimacy with ~ All Isay’s relationships before were platonic only ~
Tumblr media
Isay doesn’t care about gender and is comfortable with any pronouns but prefer to be free in terms of self-representation ~ While living among humans, Isay mostly goes by he/him pronouns due to people’s perception of Isay as a male xD But there were a times when Isay was perceived as female as well, so they used she/her pronouns ~ Not a big deal for them ~
Isay has a very tender, melodic, androgynous voice which they love to use 😎 As a voice claim I can attach this song where the singer’s voice is quite sound like Isay’s ~ But mostly I just love to change female singer voice’s pitch and imagine like that’s Isay singing xD
youtube
youtube
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ISAY’s PERSONALITY
Isay sings whenever it's possible, and generally they is the one who would sing ‘Queen - I want to break free’ while vacuum cleaning the house, or just a random meme song as an OST for situation in which they is happened to be like if they live in a musicale xD💦 And yes, they love to rickroll ppl :D
Isay really loves misadventures, it makes them feel at least something 💀
Isay is good at sewing/knitting due to their clothes is MUCH prone to be ripped, burned and generally destroyed xD Also they love to knit a sweaters or scarfs for their beloved ones ~ Personally, Isay loves to be SLAY Queen, so their outfits are often quite extravagangeous 💅🔥✨
Tumblr media
Isay is really flexible (Sirise’s feature) and good at dancing, especially pole & bellydance ~ Generally Isay is a wide range freelancer, and sometimes (among countless professions including some deadly ones) they gets hired in the clubs as a dancer ~ Isay never feels embarrassed about it or shy, moreover, they enjoying the process and feels pretty under the viewer's eyes ~
Despite of mostly asexual lifestyle, Isay is hell good at kissing and really loves to do it ~ It soothes them and gives them dopamine in some meanings. They also love touches by the same reason ~
Isay is a hell good shooter, but they shoot only for self-defence and avoid to hurt people (until one angsty episode break them in the story 💀) ~ Isay also likes to take away guns from ppl (and keep those as souvenirs) so they can't hurt anyone xD
Tumblr media
Isay is GOOD at cooking and loves it, especially if cooking for their loved people ~ They’ve even written a field recipe book and proudly using it ✨ many of their recipes involve insects 😀 Sometimes Isay also gets hyperfixated on making molded cheese and herb teas and loves to go wild with experiments.. sometimes the results might end up not much s(safe)uccessful 🤪
Isay is kinda into orange food, like, oranges, carrot etc xD
They just feel like eat orange stuff :D But in general the main point for Isay is just to have it edible because honestly Isay’s stomach can burn even trash, so, in worst times Isay can eat spoiled leftovers, wood or even sand to just suppress the hunger :D So if you feed them literally ANYTHING edible - they will much much grateful ~ But most likely they’d rather cook a dinner for everyone by themself, if you offer them some ingredients ✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lil vid about their fav foods ~
Isay has special eyes (👁️ ͜ つ👁️)
This isn't native for Sirises and came from parasite Isay got in the past (something between Leucochloridium paradoxum & Сordyceps unilateralis). Isay removed the parasite's ‘core’, but the ‘roots’ has merged with Isay's body and changed their DNA forever 💀 Isay has a creepy-long tongue due to the same parasite 👁👄👁 The vid about parasite is in the end ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SIRIS SPECIFIC FEATURES SHINING IN ISAY
Isay is a fire magician (can produce/control/swallow any fire), so their body temperature is higher than human’s: near 45c and might grow to hell high. When this happens - Isay ‘cries’ blood (it hurts..) due to literally boiled blood & bursted eye capillaries 💀💔
Isay's bodytype depends from hydration level only ~ Sirises have evolved a liquid-saving tissue instead of adipose tissue: mostly located on tail, hips, booty and boobies ~ So the more hydrated is Isay = the more they soft and curvy ~ And the less they is hydrated = the thinner. Tail wideness changes too ~
They purr 👁👄👁
HYPER-EMPATHY
Sirises have a feature that may be named as ‘hyper-empathy’: they can feel if a person has ‘bad’ or ‘good’ vibes towards them: friendly/hostile, likes/hates, happy/miserable, relaxed/scared etc.
Also they might adopt other's emotions or multiply their own, if they feel the same. It doesn’t depend on Sirise's will with other species (only with other Sirises) and may be much traumatic psychically. By this reason, Sirises are mostly a vegeterian specie and they won’t eat / exploit life forms which are evolved enough to feel pain and emotions. Isay follows that diet as well ~
But Isay personally - is no longer able to feel emotions by itself by the exact same reason why they have became Immortal. Generally, they needs to live among people to be able to have any feelings. So, basically, Isay is kind of empty vessel and is obligated to co-exist with humans (or other species) in a sort of symbiotic relationships. Otherwise, Isay would slowly fall into sort of catatonic state of mind for god knows how long. An opposite effect: they might get overwhelmed by people’s emotions around if those are too intense (fear / euphoria / grief / etc) - and this may cause them a mental breakdown and even seriously damage their sanity 💀
EARS
Isay's ears has a lot of nerve endings which helps Isay anticipate weather/atmosphere pressure/wind changes, and generally their ears - are their main organs in terms of their hyper-empathy ~
Due to this - their ears are VERY MUCH sensitive for someone's touches ~ It may be really pleasuring with loving person which Isay trusts, but it will be much painful with unfamiliar person which Isay doesn't trust, and especially if person has bad ‘vibes’ or is simply hostile ~ This involves any sorts of interactions: from a simple touches to injuries and works only in terms of ‘someone’s’ touches. If ears are touched by an item (hat, pillow, etc) there wouldn’t be much trouble, but if the same item touches Isay’s ears while being held by a person - then the trouble starts xD
HAIR
Isay's hair is super coarse (Siris feature) so it’s always kinda messy and spiked ~ But it becomes curly and fluffy when Isay falls in love, and SUPER curvy when Isay is aroused ~ In opposite: hair becomes straight and heavy when Isay feels unwell mentally and physically 💔
TAIL
Isay’s tail is ‘meaty’ and it’s tip can serve as additional ‘hand’ ~ Also, those fancy things on the base of the tail are not fur but fleshy soft scions which serve as liquids storage as well ~ When Isay's body is hydrated well - they're bigger, but when the body is dehydrated - they almost disappear 💦
Tumblr media
EYES
Isay is a MONSTER because u know what??
They LOVE onion's juice!! It doesn't hurt them!! Quite the opposite: it CALMS their eyes after blood crying so Isay uses onion juice as eye drops!! And yes.. sometimes Isay smells like roasted onion.
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT
Never give them anything with caffeine 💀
Any food/drinks which contains caffeine affects on Isay's specie like heavy alcohol or drugs, so Isay have to avoid it to act sanely <:D
Also, energy drink can affect them like aphrodisiac (depends of circumstances) 👁️💦
On the other hand: no any human addictive things doesn't affect Sirises. But they will get heavily dizzy and might even black out if you smoke cigarettes near them 💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHOOOOSH.. I hope I didn't forget for now 🤣💦
Thank you for coming to my OC TED Talk 👁👄👁🫶❤️✨Next time I’ll tell about Isay’s polyamory family.. or Sirises! depends xD💦
As the final gesture, here is a vid about Sirises (shortly) ~
P.S.: my apologies for the wrong term I used for Sirises as an intersex specie, I was uneducated and wasn’t sure how I should call the specie which has both reproductive systems fully evolved, so I went by obviously outdated term 💀💔 but now I know 🔥
~ and a vid about Isay’s parasite ~

for the ask game: 001 favorite character (sandman), character you felt the writers screwed up (any media), 002 gabby/pierce, calliope/corinthian [eyes emoji]
Oooh for favorite Sandman character, definitely the Corinthian! He’s just - he’s everything! He’s queer, he’s a fuck up, he’s weird, he’s *trying*, he’s constantly looking to partner up with other people to help him overthrow his boss, he’s manipulative but not necessarily *good* at it. I love that he loves life, and loves humanity in his own way. He’s a nightmare, so his love is nightmarish and monstrous, but he’s so capable of having fun and there is something tragic about him being punished for being true to his nature. I’m not sure he’s really capable of being any way other than what he is, and I adore that for him.
I especially love him contrasted against the collectors - they’re all so full of resentment and spite, they’ve all invented narratives where they’re justified in killing their victims, and the Corinthian doesn’t need that at all! He doesn’t hate his victims! He’s a monster, he doesn’t need to justify what he’s doing. His speech to them was kind of hilarious in that it sort of missed the mark about why *they* kill - most of them aren’t really killing to kill at all! And when they speculate on the reasons for his name, and he kinda demurs?? Because it’s just his name! It’s not some badass moniker he came up with for himself like the rest of them. It is literally just his name.
Character I felt the writers screwed up… urgh, not to drag myself back into the OFMD fandom (yikes), but as someone who binged season 1 and was hella excited where season 2 would take the story… I gotta say Ed Teach. I won’t get too far down this rabbit hole, but needless to say, if you choose to write your co-protagonist and romantic lead as an abusive monster, that’s fine, but please actually follow-through, don’t just hand-wave it all away when it starts to headbutt against the “sunshine friendship&romance” plot you wanna tell
Gabby/Pierce
when or if I started shipping it: Not until I saw that deleted scene a few months ago!! God, I’m still feral over it. That he calls her by a nickname - that there was clearly a friendship between them, if not more – and it makes so much sense with how hyped up he’s acting right after her death, like he’s keeping himself going on willpower and Ritalin, and the way he looks so solemn when he’s telling Caliban people don’t change?? GAH. It’s a ship I didn’t think about for YEARS but has grabbed me right by the throat.
my thoughts: That I love it. That I want it. That there’s an entire movie about Gabby and Pierce’s relationship we only catch glimpses of the tail-end of, and I’ll never stop screaming about that.
What makes me happy about them: That they were friends!! She’s a nurse and he was the Reaver commander, but he *knew* her well enough to know that she loved comic books (like him!) They’re very different people – she doesn’t strike me as someone that would be drawn in to his posturing, and he’s hinted at being kinda nerdy and quiet at points in the movie where he’s not fronting, and I love the implication that she saw a side of him he doesn’t normally show to people.
What makes me sad about them: y’know it’s a tough call, but probably the part where she gets killed either by him or his Reavers on his command 😭 although it does add a deliciously tragic edge to it too
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: that there’s not more of it!
Things I look for in fanfic: assuming there was more fanfic of the two of them, I’d probably look for fanfics that explored Pierce being… maybe not *softer*, but more vulnerable with Gabby, but without making him OOC (I like my boy with his off-putting, nasty streak!) Them being drawn in to the aspects of each other that they don’t feel as comfortable showing is *chef’s kiss*
My kinks: ooh definitely femdom, CNC (i can see them switching roles for that one), pegging, and MFM threesomes with a “forced bi” roleplay element, light bondage
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Probably Logan!
My happily ever after for them: Gabby was just faking being dead and digs Pierce out of the ground 😭😭 Always in love with endings where Pierce gets to be her extra good guard dog
Calliope/Corinthian
when or if I started shipping it: A while back (maybe a year ago now?) a friend of mine in a server drew a gorgeous piece of Calliope/Corinthian art (the one I attached to the tumblr post linking to my story, with their permission), and I was hooked after that!
my thoughts: Corinthian deserves a better master than Dream tbh, and I love him with an actual goddess who understands some part of his whole personhood situation. Someone who respects him as an individual, but also understands that if he doesn’t have someone holding his own leash pretty tightly (and giving him plenty of enrichment and affection), he’s gonna go off and do *sooo* many murders because that’s just who he is. And I love Calliope getting to indulge in some messy sex after her ordeal, with someone that just adores her for *her* and not that she’s a muse
What makes me happy about them: that their needs have the capability to balance out pretty well!! That I can see Calliope as someone who can survive and thrive with the Corinthian, and I think the Corinthian would be better off under her, too.
What makes me sad about them: when i remember they probably have met before, in happier times when Orpheus was still alive, and we’ll likely never see it 😭 did Calliope like Dream’s favorite nightmare?? Did she pamper him like a treasured pet? Was he jealous of her for her closeness to Dream? Did he adore having someone around that treated him with a softer touch?
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: again, that there’s just not really fanfic for them! 😭
Things I look for in fanfic: (assuming there was more to choose from!) really anything exploring the power dynamics between a nightmare with daddy issues and a goddess that’s spent the last 70 years imprisoned. I don’t think they could ever be regular boyfriend/girlfriend, free of power imbalance, but that’s what I adore about it
My kinks: femdom, Calliope as a masochistic dom, CNC with Calliope as the “victim” (specifically love her reclaiming herself and her sexuality & reconciling some of her trauma through some CNC), gentle domme, primal play, orgasm control/denial
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: honestly, I just love giving Call the Corinthian. I’m not sure I really ship her with anyone else - although Calliope/Destruction tickles something in my brain too. And for Corinthian, definitely Rose
My happily ever after for them: she gets to keep the Corinthian and he’s her pampered and very enriched monster 😌😌

Horus Rising Parts 2 and 3: Brotherhood in Spiderland and The Dreadful Sagittary
This post contains spoilers for Brotherhood in Spiderland and the Dreadful Sagittary, the second and third parts (together comprising roughly the second half) of Horus Rising by Dan Abnett, first published as a novel on (as nearly as I can tell) April 6th, 2006.
Unlike the first half of the book, where I have reservations, I pretty much don't have anything negative to say about the second half. I think it's deft storytelling that does what it intends to do and effectively sets up a tragedy that False Gods will, if I recall correctly, fail to deliver on. There's one specific part that's a bit on the nose; I'll get to that.
Basically four things happen in the second half of the book. The 63rd Expeditionary Fleet go to (ultimately embarassingly pointless) war against a planet of giant spider-aliens to rescue a group of Emperor's Children who are themselves there to rescue a group of Blood Angels; Loken is introduced to the Davinite Lodge secret societies; Loken is introduced to the horrors of the Warp; and Horus meets and fails to make peace with a much more enlightened integrated human/alien society called the interex, testing out a tragic could-have-been version of rebellion against the Emperor, which also, I feel, clarifies his urge to rebel somewhat.
So! I really, really like Brotherhood in Spiderland, and not just because it's called Brotherhood in Spiderland. It's well-written bolter porn that serves as a critique of bolter porn. Blood Angels throw themselves at a death planet, which is so hostile that you can only get there by drop pod and then can't leave because of weaponized weather, botch it so badly they name the planet Murder, ask for help. Emperor's Children, who are largely arrogant assholes, show up and decide to help by throwing themselves into the exact same blender. We meet Eidolon, Lucius, and Saul Tarvitz, who accidentally clears a hole in the weaponized weather, then our 63rd Expeditionary Fleet shows up to save the day, Tarik Torgaddon arrives, and then Tarik, Saul, and Lucius get up some Big Soldierly Brotherhood Feels bits that would be familiar to anyone who's a fan of the Clone Wars series, with even notorious future villain Lucius getting a humanizing moment. We're then told they wage a pure glorious war of extermination against the spider aliens for six months, performing many awesome feats of glory and heroism… and then an interex ship shows up and goes "Hey, why are you attacking our nature preserve? Didn't you see the beacons we set up that clearly say not to go down to the planet we moved the spider-monsters to after taking away their space flight tech so we and they could co-exist peacefully?" The whole glorious six month war full of brotherly feels and tragic deaths and heroic accomplishments was all just the 63rd Expeditionary Fleet attacking a lion habitat at the space zoo because they couldn't read the sign, just stickin' a series of hands in a series of wild animal mouths because Imperial doctrine demands it no matter how pointless it is. Womp womp. This makes it sound silly but it's great and it serves the themes of the book, I don't really have critique here, it's all well-enough executed that I'm satisfied just kinda describing the events as they happen. Whatever the hell glorification of the Imperium would look like, this isn't that, no matter what YouTube lore shorts that describe the Megarachnids as terrifyingly deadly alien threats would have you believe. They're big spiders that want to eat you because they're big spiders, you can just not go down there and you'll be fine.
Meanwhile, Loken is inducted into one of the Luna Wolves' secret warrior lodges, which is… cool and chill and doesn't seem to be a cult. Maybe it's a bit love-bomb-y but giving these strictly regimented emotionally stunted child soldiers a place to just be people does seem like a good idea, even as Loken points out that their secrecy could make them problems even if they're fine right now. Again, this is set up as an effective tragedy -- we, the audience, know that the Davinite lodges will ultimately be the cancer that rots the traitor legions from within through secret chaos cult infiltraton, so the book sells them as something fulfilling a genuine social and emotional need as the buildup to that tragedy and as an implicit critique of how official Space Marine social organization fails them as people and forces their emotional lives into the closet where they can be victims of manipulation. Good section! Smart writing! Even here it's clear that the Heresy is going to go down not just because of the ambition of Horus and the machinations of the Ruinous Powers, but because the Emperor opened the way for them by refusing to recognize the Astartes as people. The only reason the secret warrior lodges are secret is because the Emperor doesn't like them, because they don't involve his soldiers spending all their time lining up in neat rows.
Also Loken gets pointed to an epic Unification-era war poem where he finds references to daemonic possession that match his experence with Samus and Xayver Jubal, and all I can think is, this is great, I wish the bit in Part 1 where Horus just explains what went down had been written not to make this superfluous. In the better version of the book where Loken is figuring out what happened on his own and Horus didn't just hand him the answer and tell him to keep it a secret, this bit is unchanged!
So, the interex. My read on how the interex situation goes down is that Horus, who has been given license to prosecute the Great Crusade as he sees fit via the Emperor bestowing him the mantle of Warmaster, wants to do it right and wants to do it his own way. He's out from the Emperor's shadow and wants to spread his own wings -- he wants to rebel. But… he doesn't actually want to kill the Emperor and take control of the Imperium by force, he just wants to prove that he has wisdom and authority to make his own decisions. And so we see him try to fix his mistake from 63-19 by making peace with this peaceful, functional human society, who he has no reason to war against despite the fact that they exist in a multi-species civilization, which is itself an abomination in the eyes of Imperial doctrine. Horus is like "I'll show my dad and not do a xenocide." That's a good idea! It also probably never would have worked, because the Emperor wouldn't have accepted that outcome, so there's that inevitable tragedy raising its head again. The interex themselves -- and this is not an original observation -- serve as a critique of the Imperium, proving that it's a lie to say the fascism of the Imperium is the only way to survive in the 30k galaxy. They visibly coexist with multiple alien races, from the peaceful to the openly hostile, and they deal with the threat of Chaos by educating everyone about how much of a threat it is so people don't mess with it. They were doing fine.
The bit where Horus screams at the sky "Father, why have you forsaken me?" is a bit much, but part of that is me being a bit allergic to Christian allegory in fantasy and science fiction. It's fine, I'll move past it.
Interesting anachronisms: There's brief mention of a massive Space Marine "in gold Custodes armour." Didn't know they ever wore that.
Also, not an anachronism, but there's a delightful bit that stuck with me where Loken and Torgaddon are walking down a hallway and Torgaddon runs ahead and jumps to slap some pipe work on the ceiling, just for the joy of it, and then brags about being able to do the same in another part of the ship where the piping is twice as high. Space Marines are just people.
