Really annoyed at the terminology midsized rn. Like. Sure it can be helpful for some people (namely women) who have been made fun of for being fat but aren’t fat fat. But that’s the problem with this terminology in the first place. In giving a name to this body size that focuses on clothing size rather than actual bodies themselves we also further distance these bodies from fatness, which only works to stigmatize fatness even more than it already is. It just reinforces the idea that fat = bad and something that only “real” fat people are, when in reality all bodies have fat and many of these “midsize” bodies are what people have called fat in the past but now have been recontextualized in the era of heightened self awareness of the “average size body” as “normal” but the people using the term were made to feel inferior bc of the fat on their bodies and now simultaneously embrace the “normalness” of their bodies while also distance themselves from the fatness AND distinguish their bodies as “different.” We literally need to destigmatize the word fat NOW bc ppl are literally just inventing new ways to be unconsciously fatphobic. fat is not a binary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With gay moon post approaching 600 notes (600 notes... 😥) I have had a few realizations

1: not everyone shares the same observations that I do. Which I say just bc I was IMMEDIATELY struck by the framing of Vash with the moon in that one panel the first time I saw it, but I've had a number of ppl mention they hadn't noticed it

Which leads into 2: the reason that post has so many notes is bc pointing out moments like that holds value to people. Plus I guess my commentary & conclusions? Plus acting as something for people to bounce their own ideas off of.

And then 3: there are probably more moments I could explore in such a way, & that could hold value to people

im soooooo bad at this kind of question bc i kinda love thinking about a bunch of different/concurrent options like. you know how every fic is its own universe and you watch the same steps happen with little alterations so the same guys fall in love 101 times that's my brain... HOWEVER I've been thinking a LOT about ITSV Peter/Miguel lately --

Either comic-canon based settings where he's the usual single hero in his natural habitat OR directly /before/ ITSV itself; divorced midlife crisis spider-man who's always struggling to make rent is SUCH a good spot for Peter's stakes, and it sucks how people just want to make him rich or magically the avengers solve all his problems to basically erase what makes him compelling. I think its a good choice the spidey movies do -- to make it all a lot more ground-level, without outside interference -- so he has to make the tiny decisions.

Miguel getting stranded in the past!! HOW COME THERE'S SO LITTLE STUFF ABOUT MIGUEL AND PETER MEETING IN THE PAST? Doesn't need to be ATSV plotline compliant. A macguffin gets him there, or sends him to Peter's universe, come on! The important part is having them on a ground level sandbox.

THE REAL FUN STUFF: The cheesiest stupidest meetcutes you could ever imagine. Endless possibility. Spitballing: Peter/Miguel being unaware of each other's identities and renting the same apartment because neither of them has the funds to fly solo. Peter being suddenly spooked by the appearance of a brand new edgy spider-man in the vicinity. After all these years. Miguel not knowing how much he can say because Peter's sort of convinced this is a villain ploy of some sort to fuck up his public persona.

REAL-LIFE, both of them are suspicious about the other as a Weird Fidgety Roommate type. Neither can complain much because, again, it's rent on NY. You mind or business. or not.

Maybe Alchemax doesn't even exist in this universe, tipping Miguel off that this is an alternate timeline and he's really on his own. Maybe the ruling company here is Roxxon or Future labs or whatever; there's a lot of those in comics. He kind of HAS to eventually come clean about being universe-displaced to this world's Spider-man -- Peter begrudgingly accepting that there's a second spider-guy around on the condition that Miguel isn't gonna do anything catastrophic while he's here to completely blow up Peter's image, or give J.J. Jameson fodder to attack him.

Maybe they start working together. Maybe it's a casual partnerships thing where they happen to be tracking the same shady incident and decide to wrap it up as a duo; maybe they just agree to patrol the neighborhood together on busy weeks since they just.. suspiciously... seem to be around at the same place... at the same time... overly concerned abt the same shit....

Miguel has a superhuman investment in Not Letting This World Turn into a Future Dystopic Hellhole; Peter just kind of wants to live and solve problems as they come by but these two motivations really synergize. Peter doesn't even need to ask why, just damn okay dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!1!!1!

Secret Identity investigations. Secret Identity mishaps. Secret Identity fumbles. Lyla accidentally busting out that Peter Parker is Spider-man via advanced facebook voice recognition fuckery. (LOL) Hell, maybe in THIS Miguel's version of 2099 it was already revealed Peter is spider-man, after he died. How'd he die? Maybe it was a bad end. How does Miguel feel about that? About meeting with a ghost? Endless possibility.

EVEN MORE FUN STUFF: both of these guys are *SO* intensely defined by a lack of support system around their secret identities. WALLOWING in guilt. Spider-man always seems to ruin their lives, in the worst ways. They're too proud to let normal people intervene, or the ppl themselves deeply resent the fact Spider-man exists. It's fun to think of a reversal scenario where Peter/Miguel have each other's backs, can help the other dress wounds, can show up in a pinch to prevent disaster from occurring with some supervillain 10 blocks away while Peter is trying to land a new job interview as a highschool teacher or science columnist. IDK It doesn't have to be constant uphill battle to get someone else to understand why they do what they do and what the stakes are; they're the same kind of crazy.

And okay, maybe you don't want the spidersonas falling in love before their real identities do..... still VERY ripe options around for Miguel sneaking home with a limp or a really fucked up arm and his healing factor isn't nearly as good as Spider-man Prime's, so Peter is like 'WHAT the FUCK happened to you?' And even though he can tell Miguel is lying. He is not going to bust him out for it. Because he's been lying for 20+ years. Instead, Peter just takes it upon himself to teach him how to get his shit fixed. Temporary armslings and icepacks and sprays and current-time medication that is different to what Miguel is used to in the future; friendly neighborhood Peter Parker who minds his business and will not ask you if you're secretly Daredevil for Reasons but that will, however, tell you to stop blocking attacks with your fucking head. He learned this lesson earlier than most superheroes.

(The reverse scenario is still sweet! Peter's taciturn roommate who wears sunglasses indoors and is weirdly secretive about everything seeing him come home with a busted out eye and hes like damn. Do you want to split a pizza or whatever. You look like shit)

Miguel is not actually as experienced as Peter! He /could/ use the tips!!! Peter has been Spider-man ever since he was 15 years old. Miguel became Spider-man due to a freak accident at MAXIMUM 4ish years ago. Probably less. Figuring out how to do it not alone would be genuinely a good experience for him.

Miguel moe x1000 as the future man who kinda doesn't get the weird counterintuitive way things work present-time 💔 flipside; Miguel seeing the beginnings of bad future patterns like musk trying to buy twitter and deciding to take matters into his own hands. sorry this is just hilarious to me. Even if he's not beating these guys up its still awesome to imagine him as an insane ranting tech essayist who goes on hour-long takedowns of NFTs on youtube or being like GOD WE NEED VACCINES TO BE COOL AGAIN FUCKKKK

Among all of this though, I think one of the most appealing aspects of having them as an unit is that they don't have to lone-wolf shit anymore. (and they Have been lonewolfing it for SO long.) Feels good feels organic

I could go on but I need to actually write and I just... think they can be so entertaining. We don't have to be so dependent on the movie here pulling from regular superhero shenanigans Really works. They sort of complete each other. Immediate productive boost on both of their morales. Get Peter/Miguel pilled with me rn

Heather convincing gwen to vote for leshawna because it would look really lame of her if she didnt. it would hint more to the audience that gwen actually cares A Whole Lot about her appearances and how people perceive her (since a lot of people think thats a super thrown on attribute for her to have in all stars) and it would paint gwen as less of a saint

i have a big problem with the way gwen is portrayed to the audience. The writers want her to look like this misunderstood girl so shes painted as this dick in canon but theres nothing about her thats like... even bad until s3 (s2 too with the whole breaking up with trent) but even then gwen was NOT in the wrong for that shit idc.

I think the meanest thing i can recall her doing is calling lindsay an idiot in episode one, when EVERYONE is caught off guard with the state of what wawanakwa is like. Her being in a bad mood is literally the normalest shit that happens in this show im sorry. this show cannot convince me gwen is a bad person, unless it did this. WHICH WOULD BE MILES MORE INTERESTING THAN HOW SHE IS IN CANON. gwen is so fucking BORING DUDE I HATE IT. let this girl be fucked up and insane and EVIL.

If they made gwen stab one of her friends in the back because of her own insecurity it would tackle like the two biggest gripes about the way she is in canon. It would set up her being this insecure freak more (there was also the episode geoff got eliminated. her disliking that geoff wouldnt like her according to her own insecurity but that was also tacked on as fuck) AND it would make her do something actually note worthily bad because of it. she could be actually painted as this underdog in the finale, especially if there were even less people on her side because of that. like seriously. why would half of the people that are on owens team be on owens team besides just being forced on there to make gwen seem like more of a loser. i dont remember owen interacting with majority of them and a lot of them dont seem like the party type. courtney comes to mind but also ezekiel (i guess hes sexist and thats the reasoning i forgot about that) and fuckin idk tyler and harold. AND EVEN THEN....... they didnt know about the party thing. lindsay switched teams when she heard about the party thing. idk maybe im just misremembering about the lack of interactions between characters.

and parallel to the way gwen didnt even vote trent out when he was framed for cheating, leshawna could have seen that heather framed gwen as well. (i think it suits leshawnas character miles better to be forgiving idk. like tda can push this agenda that leshawna is secretly awful but that shit is so unreal to me) gwen could be thinking all day next episode about how bad she feels about voting for leshawna, for letting her insecurities get the better of her, but Gwen and leshawna could make up and be bffs again in the finale. would it be too much to have this thing between both gwent and gweshawna in the same episode? idk maybe. im here to spitball not to be an actual writer (if i were to be an actual writer i would fix gwent from being terribly and awfully executed throughout literally the entire season. pacing issues eaughh.)

hello anon! what a funny/good question haha. this got uh long so under the cut are some thoughts about that (also, like, spoilers for linger if anyone cares)

want to set the table by saying (a) im SO not a lawyer, law school VERY not for me, i know a lot of lawyers and they all terrify me (affectionate) and (b) i do not really do much research beyond my ongoing love affair with hockey reference dot com (and stuff to inform characterization ofc!) -- but i think the existence of the idea of these like, bond clauses (explicit in the omegaverse one, may come up if i write more soulbond) comes from a general question that i think about whenever im writing an au concept which is: how would this one wacky change (people have another form of sexual presentation! people can have half physical half mental all emotional connections to another person!) influence other aspects of life besides me smashing my ken dolls together?

obviously the trappings are fun - reality tv! inane pop songs! if people can get bonded do they also have weddings? how does this influence pbs documentaries. but i often think about things from a public policy perspective because it's what i know lol. and with those examples in particular, my thought process was -- here's this thing that can romantically and sexually entangle people, but there's also a physical component. bonding in omegaverse or soulbonds often changes you/has some sort of tangible impact if you’re separated -- you get bond sick, your heat cycle changes, that sort of thing. there would probably be some sort of sociopolitical movement to protect those social structures because you can't have people getting physically fucked up if they aren't allowed to follow/bring a partner with them! maybe it was a given in many cultures and laws developed to formalize social structures. maybe in the us there's some sort of landmark federal legislation to provide greater protections in the 60s and 70s. maybe the un has a body of international standards.

and in any/all of those cases, it would be something that would get bargained in something like a sports cba because in a world where these kinds of intense bonds are possible between members of your same-gender league, inEVITABLY capitalism will run up against those off ice bonds, and people would feel strongly about keeping their partner with them!

also in linger specifically, i knew i wanted the main conflict to be this sort of, matthew vs his body, matthew vs his identity as an omega/what he perceives being an omega to mean, matthew's desire for independence and control vs his desire for physical and emotional connection and leon. and when i was first trying to figure out my way into a plot (especially how to handle The Trade) and spitballing on twitter, a friend was like what if alpha/omega relationships were a really big deal legally? and the idea of bond rights sprung out of that because it was the perfect narrative tool to be like, here is this tangible economic and occupational consequence if matthew gets bonded. here is a real thing that will happen that will cause him to lose that sense of control over his own life. here is the Threat that is always sitting in the back of his mind. and even though it hopefully comes across that like, leon doesn't think of their relationship that way, he wouldn't actually force matthew to stay close if matthew didn't want to, matthew doesn't know that! he's seen bond rights used before! he doesn't want it to be him! and then that really drives the conflict of the story, because he sees holding himself apart from leon as this way to achieve not just emotional independence and self-control, but also very literally control over his own career.

so yeah idk! world building! not only does it provide color and depth but hopefully it can drive conflict and plot as well!

(also tbc there is no such partner clause in the girl!leon verse, they are just being very savvy about contracts and cap capacity and eventually gonna finangle their way to the same team through guile and playing hardball)

book review for into the drowning deep by mira grant!!! spoilers under the cut! just found out the author has a tumblr well if u find this pretty please dont look theres nothing bad in here its just not for you! reviews are for readers and you can get constructive criticism from a paid editor and not random readers doing this for free :)

ok i. literally just finished this and am writing it as i am staring at the finished checkmark on my computer lol wanted to get this out so i didnt forget. anyways ok so i super liked this book. love feels like a strong word bc i think im on too much adhd meds to really feel it like that but yeah i really really liked it.

OBViously the best part about this book were the mermaids. i came into it wanting mermaids and creepy shit in the ocean and science and thats what i got. they were creepy wnd fucked up and vicious and murderous amd beautiful and i loved them so much. especially that we got their pov! and how sometimes from their pov we would get little hints of answers about them before the scientists did. i liked that. loved the ocean imagery especially from dr toth was it heavy handed? maybe. idc i love the ocean.

this was also again. creepy as fuck not downright terrifying which surprised me bc im a huge wimp. but i was on the edge of my seat and anxious and nervous for a lot of the characters... which leads me to my next point i guess i dont really feel like i connected per say with all of the characters as much as others. like i feel connected for sure to olivia, especially when its her pov, the probable undiagnosed autism diagnosis goes crazy. and i really liked the wilsons, luis was nice, i liked dr toth. everyone else i didnt really care. which is fine i read this for cool mermaids !!

another thing i would kill for more of was the linguistics with hallie and lennox and the mermaid like i fucking LOVE that shit, and also what happened to said mermaid other than just a small bit at the end about it being bought by some rich guy. also would like to see more of the matriarch mermaid. i love the absolute ancient and archaic nature of creatures that are just fuckin so big, especially when it relates to the ocean. and also maybe i missed where her size was actually describe and im generally really bad at conceptualizing how big things are when just given like. measurements but i was picturing this thing as more colossal than anything else, which would tie into luis' research, right?? pretty sure that was his whole schtick and i wanted more of that... i do appreciate the mystery however. this book left me with questions, and not in a like this was filled with plot holes kinda way but more of a i need to know more this is probably how all those scientists felt kinda way. i like that i think. absolutely love how in these reviews im just spitballing ideas and seeing what sticks who knows tomorrow i probs wont agree with half the shit im saying but who cares. im working out my thought irl and this is what happens. on another note we had anchovies out for dinner and im not normally squeamish about them but. looking at them when reading this book did make me feel a bit weird so theres that. 4/5 stars had fun would recommend

This is just something i glossed over with a couple of friends, but now its really got me thinking,, do you think sekais ever "end"?? not with how large they are or anything of that sort but would they ever just disappear? since i think we're to assume everyone becomes successful in their passion later on in life and turns it into their careers, would that be like a conclusion for the sekais? or would they grow even more so? perhaps if the creator(s) didnt grow to be successful, would it die out as their passion fades and eventually just. disappear? Actually, the VS dreamfes side stories deal very much with this issue, specifically 2nd anniversary Luka and Miku! From canon main stories, we know that forgetting/not knowing their true feelings doesn't make the SEKAI disappear, and from Miku's 2nd anniversary card even the (most likely) death of the creator wouldn't make SEKAI disappear. After SEKAI is created, I think it would very much be there until the end of time. From information about the world link event later, we know that SEKAI would expand the more the creators' true feelings grow, so I think being successful/achieving their dreams would not make SEKAI disappear. But I don't know, by how much anniversary songs talk about growing up (Gunjo Sanka, Journey, NEO) maybe the creators would grow out of SEKAI when they learn how to stand up by themselves without the VS help (I kinda don't want this to be true though). Most importantly, if the creator throws away/rejects the feelings that create the SEKAI, there's a chance the SEKAI would detoriate like what is hinted in Luka's 2nd anniversary card. If they lost their true feelings, the SEKAI just becomes.... Abandoned.

Also, MEIKO's 3rd anniversary card kinda hints that someone can have a SEKAI without knowing they own one so my headcanon about Wonderland SEKAI being created when Tsukasa was young hasn't been proven incorrect yet.

I'm a hardcore diluc stan ( the amount of diluc stuff on my work desk is almost embarrassing ). as I've mentioned in my info and elsewhere, I'm not necessarily new to tumblr rp, but it's been a very long time ( about 5 years! ) so I really appreciate your patience as I relearn a few things. this is both a test post and a general... ping, I guess?? for ideas related to the commission board if anyone would like to do a thread. diluc is pretty open to whatever with whomever in terms of stuff around mondstadt, including the mondstadt commission involving the autumn festival. he's a homebody most of the time. doesn't like leaving unless he really feels like he has to for business reasons ( or to help where people are in danger / help those who really need it ).

with that in mind, he's probably most keen on the unaffiliated commissions, particularly the ruin guards or the transport balloon plots. if you have ideas for him to get involved in other regions outside of the commissions though, I'm definitely open to them and would love to try something out.

what are your historical class headcanons?

oooooooo boy okay i wasnt expecting anyone to actually ask BUT this is one of my favourite special interests so here goes (long post w/ imgs sorry!!)

disclaimer my only fashion history qualifications are Autism and if u know more/know better please tell me lol

im extrapolating the time period from the kameras mainly which i think lands us solidly around the 1850s-ish which means im going to *gestures vaguely in the direction of the 19th century* use all those decades

anyway in my ideal historically in/accurate genshin universe ill focus on mondstat for now SO for amber and eula i like this fashion plate

which is published about 1800 im not exactly striving for 100% historical accuracy here so well i think these dresses are pretty and i think the gold bag/jewelery/feather on eula's fits with her canon outfit & her aristocratic background; in My Ideal Universe, amber's is more homemade, more hand-me-down and reworn (its hard to see but you can see eula's hemline doesnt quite skim the ground, so you can see the tip of her shoe, but amber's kind of piles up on the floor -- neither of which are exactly Abnormal but again. this is my ideal universe so i can make whatever headcanons i want). also the necklines here and the flamboyancy of their headwear is pretty masculine

so well for lisa i think the turn of the century 1800-1810s empire style is really fitting actually because the whole neoclassical movement affects inspiration from grecian/roman styles and i think that really suits her.

because the dress style is so simple it doesnt really require like big hoopskirts or anything that might change movement or accessibility, it mostly just utilises like classical drapery style with light easy fabrics personally i think that style and the implications of that style really suit lisa so

if u spend an inordinate amount of time staring at the characters canon outfits like i do i think you can kind of notice that diluc's outfits have a lot of similarities to... okay this is kind of a reach BUT hear me out it reminds me of like 1800s european military uniforms.. something about the coattails, the high collar, the half-assed epaulettes. idk i think this is a huge reach lol

okay for jean i have like. two options 1. 1890s-1900s silhouette with the emphasis on Shoulders and this kind of heavily tailored masculininity

SAUL gives the idea of a cunning and shady man who uses underhanded means to get what he wants but is ultimately a small and pathetic man who would cry if you really theatened him. he is a troodontid. they are small, incredible bird-y looking dinosaurs that are believed to have been one of the smarter non-avian dinosaurs with some keen senses: they had good binocular vision and good hearing.

i believe they are also thought to have been cursorial animals, animals built for chasing down prey quickly. google them, they're adorable! a small and weak but cunning creature fits saul, i think. also it's pure speculation but there's a scene in prehistoric planet where a troodon spreads a wildfire on purpose to feed on the escaping animals, which is quite.... saul-y....

JESSE i have no idea. he'd definitely be a very cute or cool dinosaur. maybe he would be an early dinosaur, like an early saurischian or early theropod, an animal who in terms of classification is stuck between two words, neither here or there. jesse to me has a similar duality where he's a criminal in the criminal underworld and could not (in the original series at least--lets ignore the ending of el camino for a moment) enjoy a more mundane civilian life due to his ties to the drug trade that'll never let go of him BUT he is, at heart not meant to be a criminal either. he's too innocent and has too strong a moral compass to live and work in a world where things like killing children is something that's expected of you to save yourself. so perhaps eodromaeus? tawa (hallae)? staurikosaurus? idk im spitballing lol

don’t skip out on the high school events. i seriously rolled my eyes at everyone who told me that but im so glad i went to senior sunrise and sunset and went to homecoming and prom and my senior ball (idc about the more coupley dances cause i went stag every year). if you don’t have a group to go with don’t be scared to ask a friend if they’re going/if they want to go together/if you can join them

don’t stack your schedule with hard classes. my senior year i was gunning for a scholarship and took a bunch of AP classes, the workload was a lot and i burnt out hard, and i had to drop a ton and lost the scholarship. if you’re taking AP classes get a study hall period. it’s a lifesaver. and you deserve easy classes/silly classes/classes you love amongst the challenging stuff. i took a creative writing class every year and i ended up not only loving it but it was an easy class and i ended up with a teacher i knew i could rely on

don’t save those required classes you’ve been dreading and putting off until the very last year or semester. you’ll just wind up with a schedule that makes you miserable. i took all my PE classes my sophomore year and it made my junior year and senior year so much better not having to think about it

bring water with you fr. like that’s so silly but i drank so much more water when my water bottle was with me and the days i forgot it were miserable. also drinking fountains just suck

don’t be scared to talk to your desk neighbors. it’s kind of weird especially if they’re people you don’t really know but eventually you’re gonna have a group project or group discussion and it’s a lot better if you already know their name and how to talk to them

idk how long your passing periods are but mine were short so don’t stress about your locker or keeping stuff in it. getting a good backpack and figure out what you can carry easily without killing your arms and back. cause i learned very quickly i had zero time to get to my locker between classes

i truly just stumbled through high school so my advice is bs i’m sure but don’t force yourself to adhere to a rigid schedule or what everyone else thinks is a good schedule. studying for five minutes or getting the homework done last minute is better than not studying or doing the homework at all. also turn in your late work!!! it’s annoying as fuck ik and sometimes a little embarrassing but if the deadline for late work isn’t up just get whatever you can in. you’d be surprised at what it can do for you (especially in an AP or honors course)

write the figure skating au anyway! there's a bajillion skk musician aus that follow a lot of the same tropes, but people read them all anyway. even the lesser known ones still reached some sort of audience because, even though it's the same concept, there are variations in the execution that will resonate with ppl more than in the bigger fics.

i'm sure that someone will walk away from the bigger fic writer's figure skating au, wishing there was something just slightly different to completely satisfy them. your version of a figure skating au could be exactly what one specific person is looking for

and, if you're still worried about coming off as unoriginal, you can make small changes that will make your au stand out. (idk anything about figure skating, and idk the differences between your au and the other person's au, so these suggestions may not really work lol) for example, you could change what level they're competing at (local vs prefectural vs national vs international). or the scope of the story could be different. you could focus solely on skk and their relationship with the artistic side of skating, or you could focus on their dynamics with other figure skaters (like idk, are there any skating-related cultural differences that could come up with them and characters from the guild?) you could also stand out by deciding if you want the focus to be more on the build-up and training, or the in-competition results on the ice (which is one of the reasons why haikyuu and blue lock feel different despite both being sports animes about teenage boys)

idk i'm just spitballing here and this is getting really long 😅 i just don't want to see a fellow writer to give up on a project they're really really passionate about

If you go for a reality that's uh, similar to our own and homophobia exists, you could add another layer to why Huxley didn't get/failed to get outside help if he had a husband? An extra layer of social isolation and worry, and perhaps manufactured paranoia? idk just some thoughts!

So people would be mostly chill, and if they weren't it wouldn't be for the reasons we'd think (have to think about this more though)

meanwhile where Etik and her family come from (which is a different country/city/city-state to be clear) there might be more rigid ideas of gender and sexuality.

I like the idea of both societies being like, gay and trans "friendly" as in generally accepting of those identities as valid compared to the world we live in. But going about it in different ways.

So Groe & Maureno's culture plays it very loose with gender and sex and relationships, which is cool but can make people feel lonely because they don't have a community or a word to really pin down their experiences. But they also don't feel "othered" so it's not too bad.

MEANWHILE the Allwile family come from a place where you can be gay or trans or whatever but you HAVE to pick out a box and people will nitpick you if you step out of line.

for example, identifying as gay and then being bullied into identifying as Bi because you said you liked someone of a different gender one time, or identifying as a trans man but having people question you about it because you like to dress "like a woman" (whatever that means in that context)

Like, what if the worst queer community discourse was the predominant social structure, I guess XD?? So kinda queerphobic and obsessed with labels.

BUT this is all subject to change. I'm just spitballing ideas here and I think that could be a fun way to differentiate the societies (among other fundamental structural stuff that I'm still thinking about)

My thinking out loud for who Ranboo could trust with the enderwalk state, in no particular order:

A. Tommy. Probably one of the most obvious choices imo. He's proven to Ranboo specifically that he can be trusted to protect him in a similar situation (the trial about George's house being griefed where Tommy took the fall for him). I think Ranboo knows that Tommy can keep a secret. And Tommy isnt really on any sides at the moment - apart from his friendship with Tubbo which would probably his one loose end that could end up being a deal breaker for Ranboo. I legit think Tommy is objectively the best choice for this job (and i wanna see akward duo reunite as much as the next guy), but we gotta keep in mind who we're dealing with. Ranboo's likely not going to be think of Tommy as someone who's divorced himself from basically all conflict and is just trying to better himself. He's so paranoid about this exact issue, he's probably going to default to thinking Tommy is essentially just between sides right now. Plus, like I said, Ranboo didn't say he needs someone who "isnt on any side", he said he needs someone who's "detached". While Tommy definitely fills the former, he definitly doesn't fill the latter.

B. A lot of chat was suggesting Techno and/or Phil? Which?? My dudes??? No???? Yeah sure they probably wouldn't care, but Ranboo has made it pretty clear that he's really cautious about telling them things like this in fear that one day, they might care. Plus, when they say they don't care, they really mean it. To be honest, I dont think c!Techno or c!Phil are good people to be that vulnerable to? Mainly because this is something that Ranboo is going to need unprompted reassurance with and I dont really think either of them would think to do that? Plus, they're very much on a side, that being their own. When Ranboo says detached, I think he means really detached (or at least as much as humanly possible on this SMP).

C. Fundy. This one is odd because I could totally see it happening, but I can just as easily see it not. Ranboo and Fundy established a pretty strong bond throughout December, but after Doomsday it completely fell through for them both. They clearly still care about each other and that bond is definitely still there, but its been damaged and they've both been afraid to be the first to make an effort to mend it. I genuinely believe if they would just talk, they'd be back to normal in like 10 minutes. But they'd need to talk first and in this case I think Ranboo would be the one to start the conversation, which he's shown discomfort in doing before. However, if they could bridge this gap, l think Fundy would be a very good choice (as long as he could take it seriously). Obviously, Ranboo can trust Fundy on an emotional level and we know Fundy can keep a secret (almost too well) because of the whole A Spy's Diary situation. Fundy also said himself that he currently has no alliances on the smp, aside from probably Ranboo and Ranboo knows this. Additionally, Fundy is one of the only people, along with Puffy, and of course Dream, who have canonically seen him in his enderwalk state. (Tommy did notice him wandering around like he was in it once, but Ranboo hasn't acknowledged that time as canon, so idk). Anyway, I think Fundy would be a pretty solid choice if they can just get their shit together and finally make up.

D. Karl? I see where y'all are coming from with this one and listen, I would also love to see these to interact and bond over their respective memory issues, bookkeeping, and disrealization problems. But, I hate to break it to you that c!Ranboo literally has no clue about any of that. No one does. Karl hasn't told anybody about his ability to time travel and atm doesnt have any plans to. Granted, Ranboo could choose him for other reasons, but I highly doubt it, honestly?

E. Wilbur? I know what i just said, but Hear Me Out. He's not revived right now and we don't know when he will be or what he'll even be like when/if he is. But, a few things we can guarantee is that when/if he is he'll be one of the most detached people on the server (both politically and probably emotionally), he'd have no qualms with helping out Ranboo even if he does turn out to be some awful war criminal, and, based on his interactions with Ghostbur, I think Ranboo might be willing to trust him. And probably my biggest argument for why i like this crack theory: If Wilbur remembers all of the shit he did, that means he'll be one of the few people who would be able to relate to Ranboo. He knows what it's like to have Dream take advantage of your poor/deteriorating mental health and talk you into commiting acts of terrorism. Wilbur also would know what it's like to feel like you can't trust anyone, including yourself, and he could relate to Ranboo's disrealization he's been experiencing. Plus, I just think getting to see these two interact like this would be neat idk. Definitely not going to happen, but I thought I'd inculde the idea here!

F. Eret. Fuck dude, I really want Ranboo to go to Eret about this. Like first of all, Eret is functionally detached from everything right now (I mean that's why Dream has put them on the throne twice now). All Eret cares about is helping those who need it, which would include Ranboo. I also think Ranboo knows he can trust Eret and we all know Eret would be such a sweetheart about comforting the kid, while also understanding the seriousness of the situation and treating it as such. Something that I also thought was interesting was Ranboo emphasizing that it would be ideal if the person has "kept a secret before". Now, Fundy has also kept a big secret before (again, A Spy's Diary), but ya know who was the one other person who knew about Fundy's spy plan and kept the secret (which was someone else's) just as well? Eret. And of course, the reason Eret was the first person who came to mind for me: Eret betrayed L'manberg all that time ago and, obviously, had to keep it a secret and did with ease, even at a time when the writing couldn't protect it for them. Point is, Eret checks this box multiple times over and gets a gold star on it. On the note of Eret's betrayal, what I said about Wilbur knowing what it's like to be used by Dream to commit terrorism/war crimes, also applies to Eret. It's often forgotten that Eret was actually the first person to be used and manipulated by Dream. Eret wanted respect and power and when Dream found out, he promised it to them in the form of a flimsy title and fancy crown in exchange for turning on their friends, Eret took it. They then regretted it almost instantly. Point is, Eret can not only help Ranboo through this with the care and respect he requires, but can also do so by being able to relate to Ranboo on a personal level, which I think Ranboo would respond to. Eret is sort of the closest Ranboo could have to having someone represent what he's afraid he could become - someone who's seen as a filthy traitor and nothing more, never able to earn back the love and respect of their friends. But, Eret could show him that, with time and a lot of effort, he's worthy of forgivess just like they were. I also really want this for Eret. Let Eret be able to use the experience that they view as their biggest mistake, followed by months of paying for it, as a way to be able to help this kid that's grappling with some pretty heavy problems. It would be so healing for the both of them.
