Multicultural societies can be great, but there's one condition: different cultures must be willing to learn from each other and respect each other's values.
If people from one culture are open and welcoming, but people from the other culture want to enforce their own rules and take away people's freedom in the name of their religion, then the results are going to be catastrophic. This is why Europe is suffering right now and it's women who will pay the highest price.
Wondering what I mean? Let's have a look at some statistics:
Poll: 46% of French Muslims believe Sharia law should be applied in country
Over 40% of UK Muslims support “aspects” of sharia law
If it doesn't terrify you I don't know what to tell you. It surely terrifies me as fuck.

UNITED STATES CONGRESS PASSES SERIES OF ANTI-DEMOCRATIC AND PRO-WAR BILLS DESPITE PUBLIC OPPOSITION
The United States Congress and Senate passed a series of bills, including three controversial anti-democratic and pro-war bills, two of which were tied together, on Saturday, bypassing public opinion and popular opposition to the profligate, pro-war, globalist, Neolib/Neocon agenda currently driving United States domestic and foreign policy.
Included in the bills passed was a bill to force TikTok to divest from its connections with China at risk of being banned immediately, which naturally was tied to a Foreign aid bill.
However, as even Republican Senator Rand Paul mentioned in an opinion piece in Reason Magazine, the Bill is almost certain to lead to more power for American political elites and their administrations to pressure companies like Apple and Google to further ban apps and sites that offer contradictory opinions to that of the invented narratives of the American Political class.
Before long, Americans, many of whom are already poorly informed, and heavily misinformed by their mainstream media, could lose access to critical information that contradicts the narratives of the United States government and corporate elites.
Horrifically, this only the start. The US Congress also extended the newly revised FISA spy laws, which gives the United States government the power to spy on the electronic communications of foreigners, while also conveniently sweeping up the conversations of millions of Americans, as we learned years ago thanks to the sacrifices of whistle blowers and journalists like Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange.
The new FISA Law goes further than this, however, granting US Intelligence agencies the power to spy on the wireless communications of Americans in completely new ways.
A recent Jacobin article describes these new powers as a, "radical expansion of government surveillance that would be ripe for abuse by a future authoritarian leader", or it could just be used by the authoritarian leadership we have right now, and have had for decades.
In fact, when one commentator described the new powers as "Stasi-like," Edward Snowden himself replied with a long post in which he remarked, "invocation of "Stasi-like" is not only a fair characterization of Himes' amendment, it's probably generous. The Stasi dared not even dream of what the Himes amendment provides."
The amendment in question just "tweaks" the current law's definition of an "electronic communication provider," which is being changed to "any service provider," something extremely likely to be abused by the government to force anyone with a business, a modem and people using their broadband to collect the electronic communications of those people, while also forcing their victims into silence.
The government could essentially force Americans to spy on other people and remain silent about it. Cafe's, restaurants, hotels, business landlords, shared workspaces all could get swept up into the investigations of the Intelligence agencies.
Worse still, because picking out the communications of a single user would be next to impossible, all of their victim's data would end up being surrendered to the authorities.
Sadly, the assault on Americans by their own political elites didn't end there, to top this historic day in Congress, at time when the United States public debt is growing at an astounding rate of $1 trillion every 100 days, US lawmakers also passed a series of pro-war aid packages to American allies (vassals) totalling some $95 billion.
Included in the foreign aid bill are aid packages totalling $61 billion for the Ukraine scam, $26 billion for Israel's special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, and $8 billion to the Indo-Pacific to provoke WWIII with China, at the same time we're also provoking a nuclear holocaust with the Russian Federation.
Also buried in these aid packages is the authorization for the United States government to outright steal the oversees investments of the Russian Federation, and thereby the Russian taxpayers.
Astonishingly, and in direct opposition to the wishes of their own voters, Republican support was won without the possibility of conditioning the aid to any kind of border security, this despite the issue being among the top biggest concerns of Republican voters.
Although much of the money is to be used replenishing the heavily depleted stocks of America's weapons and munitions, it remains unclear where the munitions are expected to come from, as US defense production has remained sluggish and slow to expand despite heavy investments and demand in recent years, despite the rapid urgency with which the policy elite describe the situation.
It bodes poorly for working Americans that only a relatively small handful of lawmakers opposed the bills, producing unlikely bedfellows like Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Mike Lee in the Senate, opposing the FISA bill.
While in the House, the loudest opposition to the foreign aid bill mostly came from populist Republicans such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie and Paul Goser. Only 58 Congresmembers voted against the Foreign Aid Bill in which the TikTok ban was tucked.
Not one word from American politicians about the need to raise the minimum wage, which hasn't been increased since 2009 despite considerable inflation, nor a word about America's endlessly growing homelessness crises, property crime increases, or the 40-year stagnation of American wages, the deterioration of infrastructure, and precious little was said besides complaints about border security over the immigration crises sparked by American Imperialist adventures and US sanctions.
What we've learned today is that we are highly unlikely to see any changes to the insane behavior of the US and its allies any time soon, neither with regards to the absolutely bonkers Neocon foreign policy leading us to the edge of abyss, nor the spending-for-the-rich/austerity-for-the-poor Neoliberal domestic policy of the last 45 years.

The interview here with a real estate agent makes a few good points, but then says people got wealthy by accident, which is a bit condescending. And of course he says there's a real estate crisis, but doesn't mention the 1,000,000 immigrants a year we're getting. The crisis was made Federally by the Trudeau government.
But how leveraged are Canadian homeowners? Phillip Colmar, partner at Global Strategist at MRB Partners, says it's significantly "north of where the U.S. was" before the 2008 housing market crash."Canada kind of is really off the charts on that front"

Unwittingly Funding Our Own Demise - 02/14/2024
Some of our tax dollars goes to the United Nations. Hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and aid are given by the U.N. to thousands if not millions of illegal migrants crossing the southern U.S./Mexico border. Apparently, they've been aiding migrants for decades, but lately in the past few years theses operations have significantly expanded as the number of illegals increased into the millions from at least 160 different countries. To cover the cost of this expansion, the U.S. government has sent more than a billion dollars to the U.N. Isn't that lovely, our tax dollars hard at work. Since the beginning of Joe Biden's presidency, our foolish government has been sending a half of a billion dollars to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the U.N.'s migration department. It went up in 2023 to $1.3 billion. From 2021 to 2023, voluntary contributions totaling $547 million came from the State's Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration to the IOM. The bureau's goal was "to fund processing individuals requesting refugee status and resettlement in the United States and arrange their movement." So, we are funding the immigration crisis through our taxes because this administration is intentionally opening up our southern border to what can only be accurately described as a disastrous invasion. We need to return to the Trump border policies which kept us secure, this is obvious to a lot of people now, which is reflected in several polls that show Trump surging in popularity. I just hope that by January of next year it's not too late for Trump to fix it, assuming of course that he is elected to a second term.

Just watched the john Oliver show about solitary confinement and it was super triggering. Im so fucking angry at out world for creating something so monstrous and horrible and TOLERATING and SUSTAINING the practice. As someone who was put in a hospital against their will for a month, the frustration and anger of being incarcerated is blood boiling. The rage and panic I felt about keeping my behavior good so that I will be seen as compliant and that I can earn my freedom was soul crushing. Never knowing if something else was going to go wrong or they were going to put me on an other medication. This country this economy, the politics the deliberately fueled confusion that people in power stir up just to line their wallets. All of these atrocities that they have done with my tax money ( that I have to file myself no-matter) everyone is constantly paranoid that they are about to fall off a cliff financially, emotionally (or maybe literally shoutout to our failing infrastructure) and we just have to keep buying things on amazon, worrying about how fat we are, making mundane conversations with people we don’t really know.

Sohane Benziane (1984 – October 4, 2002) was a French girl of Algerian ancestry who was killed at the age of 17.
On October 4, 2002 in Vitry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, Île-de-France, 17-year-old Sohane Benziane was burned alive in front of her friends in a cellar by her former boyfriend, a local caid (gang leader), after being tortured and raped.
Her case is one of many examples of brutal violence by muslim immigrants against non-muslim/non-hijabi women in France that keeps escalating to this day.
Never forget her name - Sohane Benziane

I basically only post and read posts in my bubble aside from occasionally scrolling through Real Tumblr, but people’s takes about US politics on this website are fucking unbelievable. They talk about our government as if it didn’t save us from a pandemic-induced financial collapse, pump trillions of dollars into public works, not to mention substantially invest and rein in pharmaceuticals, and is instead some sort of ultra-neoliberal-corporate kitty shooting machine.
Like let’s be for real. Do they…know what the government does? How it works? Do you know what a conservative is? Do you know what an authoritarian is?
Because a system of government whose citizens are all lucky it has had continuous peaceful transfer of power for centuries could very well have its greatest norm violated—that those who reject its legitimacy must be rejected—and we don’t blink an eye.
Because the first major investment against climate change, coupled with life saving investments into healthcare, cancer research, and drug costs could be shredded by indiscriminate fiscal conservatives who don’t care if we die in forest fires, cancer from pollution, lose insurance because we’re jobless, or, apparently, all die in a fricking plague.
Because a foreign policy establishment that had finally reversed two decades of foreign intervention in favor of a normalization strategy aimed at reducing American foot presence, drone strikes, and indiscriminate killings is about to be replaced by the whims of a man who dropped the “mother of all bombs” on the Middle East, gave American soldiers up to Russian bounty hunters, extorted a foreign leader for political favors and arguably indirectedly resulted in that country being BRUTALLY INVADED BY AN IMPERIAL NEIGHBOR, is in the pockets of CCP-funded billionaires, and WANTS TO “FINISH THE JOB” IN GAZA.
Because a President who is against family separations and promotes a path for DREAMERs and more legal immigration and rights for unodcumented people could be replaced by a man who wants to separate families, PUT UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLE IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS, RESTRICT EVEN LEGAL IMMIGRATION, ESPECIALLY THAT OF MUSLIMS, AND SHOOT MIGRANTS.
Because a President who stopped a repeat of the Great Recession and the painful decade that followed it with strong fiscal stimulus which CUT CHILD POVERTY IN HALF BEFORE CONSERVATIVES MADE IT EXPIRE, then managed to cut deficits and presided over a decline in inflation, resulting in record high real wages (aka taking into account inflation) for workers is going to be replaced by a President who wants to TARIFF ALL FOREIGN GOODS by 15%, CUT TAXES FOR THE FILTHY RICH AND THE TAX ENFORCEMENT TO STOP THEM, INCREASE CHILD POVERTY AND UNINSUREDNESS by cutting gov’t programs, and HURT UNIONS which by every measure will lead to lower wages, higher prices, and more poverty and starvation.
Because a President who has pledged to sign a bill codifying Roe v. Wade (which has yet to be possible in recent memory, whatever these kids say), who enshrined the right to marry someone of the same sex or different race, who supports the Equality Act which would enshrine LGBTQ protections into the law, could be replaced by THE MAN WHO REMOVED AMERICA’S RIGHT TO ABORTION, whose Christian nationalist supporters want to END SEXUAL FREEDOM as we know it including TARGETING IVF AND BIRTH CONTROL, who wants to reverse LGBTQ discrimination law in favor of Christian bigots who hate queer and trans people, and who demonizes that community to win political support.
Ask yourself if you really think there’s no difference between the two. Ask yourself if a reasonable person given these facts would choose the latter. Ask yourself why you see so much propagandizing against the reasonable choice. Ask yourself why so many people seem to have opinions on this when they “don’t even go here”.
Maybe I’m just preaching to the choir here. Maybe people who say this inane stuff wouldn’t vote anyways. Maybe somehow we’re screwed anyways. Maybe people will stupidly vote third party and we’re fucked. Maybe this will get me attacked.
I don’t care anymore. If I have to see one more fucking post acting like we live under the fucking Evil Empire while a SELF PROCLAIMED DICTATOR is about to end the best streak of decent governance I’ve ever seen in a while, I just can’t anymore.

Well we are already seeing some of the criminal consequences of this current wave of illegal immigration. In New York city one group of migrants has been arrested recently for a violent assault upon New York police officers, while another has been arrested for a string of shoplifting incidents. As I have explained before, this particular concern has nothing to do with the nationality, ethnicity or race of the people in question. If they are human they will possess all the flaws and faults of the human race, and if they are admitted into the country unscreened we have absolutely no idea who they are, and therefore how deeply those faults run. We may be, and in all probability are allowing access to all sorts of individuals: from abusers of children, to terrorists, to gang members. And whatever offenses they commit against American citizens in the future will be offenses that would not have occurred if certain American politicians had not decided to undermine the nation's border policies and laws for ideological reasons.
This rhetoric about racism has become a pretense for practical opposition to secure national borders, which is a common sense political position. A nation without borders is not a nation.
