I Cherish You, Halcyon Days: iv.
Tumblr media
“You’re gonna die, kid. In the worst way possible.”
tags: afab!reader (she/her), angst, slow burn
pairing: gojou x reader + onesided!getou x reader
summary: You’re 15 years old when you’re told you’re going to die. You’re 17 years old when you realize who your killer will be. And you’re 17 years old when you make peace with the fact you wouldn’t want it any other way.

You hum in pleasant surprise when the taste of green apples and mango hit your tongue. This really could have been hit or miss, you sip again. Still as good as the first sip. Just because you like experimenting with food and drink, it doesn't necessarily mean there will be a good payoff. Fruit teas from random shops are always either too sweet or just right for you, never something tolerable in between.
Thankfully, this place understood that the sugar is only supposed to enhance the drink, not drown it. You look over at the tall and lanky boy a few short steps away. Tea isn't Gojou's thing, hence why he is the only member of the group who hadn't ordered anything, but you think this one will be right up his alley. "You've gotta try this," you angle the cup slightly above your shoulder. "It's this green apple mango flavor they're promoting."
Without taking the cup from your hand, Gojou simply leans down to take a drink. "It's alright," Gojou shrugs before sipping again with vigor. "Needs more sugar."
You snort and lean away, bringing your beverage with you, "well if it's only alright, stop drinking it then."
"You know," Gojou sighs and you already know it's going to be some bullshit spewed out of his mouth coated in false philosophy and maturity. "Here in Japan we have a saying that food tastes better when you share it."
You roll your eyes but grin at the fact you called it, "well we just shared it and it still tastes exactly the same so," when Gojou attempts to take your cup, you turn immediately. "You better follow your best friend's example and get inside that tea house and order yourself a drink!"
Gojou slumps over your back with a whine, "what if yours tastes better than mine for some reason and they give me a bad one?"
You're giggling but no dice, "no!" You shove your straw back into your mouth and lean over your drink protectively. Get your own drink, you point at the tea shop once again with a mumble. "You have pretty privilege, there is no way they'll fuck yours up!"
"Stingy," Gojou clicks his tongue but he drags himself across the street where Suguru is standing in line anyway.
Crisis avoided.
"... What was that?" Utahime's eyes widen while her brow furrows.
It's a chilly April day in Moriya and the lot of you are enjoying the last bits of spring vacation. School holidays work differently when you go to a jujutsu school, you learned quickly. As far as the higher ups were concerned, vacation just meant more free time to send students on missions. Sure you're in a completely different part of Japan doing a lot more traveling than you'd ever do in your typical high school experience.
But in reality, this trip to a ryokan in Ibaraki Prefecture is nothing more than a glorified work trip with sightseeing sprinkled in. They could have at least sent us to a coastal town if they were sending us to Ibaraki. You shouldn't expect much from an institute that still does school on Saturday when the rest of the country stopped doing it in 2002. At the very least, the mission had been wrapped up and this final week of spring break before the new school year started, you get to enjoy yourself.
Next week, I become a second year student, you did it. You managed to survive your very first year at Jujutsu Tech. You'll miss having Fujioka-sensei as a teacher, she was kind and had lots of fun anecdotes. But you can't stew in awe and nostalgia with how Utahime is staring at you like you've lost your mind.
"What was what? It's green apple mango fruit tea," you cock your head before sliding your cup to the traditionally-clothed girl's side of the table. "Wanna try it too?"
Utahime promptly slides it back in disgust. "After he put his mouth on it? No thanks," you only shrug in return before sipping at the fruity goodness all over again. That's more for me then. Your nonchalance drives your upperclassman into mania. She looks at Shoko like she's the only other sane person at the table. 'What the heck is going on?!' her lips move silently. "Why am I the only one freaking out about this!?"
The brunette holds up a hand in the most laidback display of defensiveness you've ever seen, "they've been like that for a while now, everyone just got used to it." Shoko's words only make Utahime's more aghast.
Oh right.
That.
You smack your lips together with a weak laugh, avoiding your friend's accusatory gaze.
Something shifted in the cosmos after December 8th, 2005 without your meaning to. You aren't exactly sure how long it took after your birthday for sharing food with Gojou to become habit, but it did.
Something is too sweet or too spicy? You swap plates.
You get an assorted bag of snacks and sweet treats from helping a random grandma cross the street? There isn't really a point of keeping any of the stuff you know Gojou will like.
But you never realized how ingrained into normalcy it became until one particular day you leaned over to eat a chip Gojou held in his fingers. "Does this taste kinda soapy to you or is it just me?" He asked, shaking the bag it came from. They were roasted cumin lamb skewer flavored chips imported from China.
"Yeah, I think it's just- wait, give me another one?" You chewed more slowly that time around, really feeling at the flavor. "No, I'm getting it too."
Suguru and Shoko made faces that looked exactly like the one Utahime is wearing right now. "[First]!"
"Look it isn't like we're friends or anything," you tell the soon to be fourth-year. "When there is food involved, the We Hate Gojou Alliance calls forth a truce," you explain seriously, folding your hands and resting your chin on them as if you are Ikari Gendo. "For how can we hate if we are not properly nourished?"
At the bullshit you spew, Utahime's expression shifts into one that is purely unamused as her brow furrows and she purses her lips. It takes a lot out of you to not laugh then and there. "And since when was that an addendum we agreed on?"
"It's one I made out of personal interest," you close your eyes, nodding at the memories. Food comes before any quarrel you have with an annoying classmate. If it came down to it, you'd become Gojou's best friend for a sandwich. "When food is involved, Gojou Satoru isn't that bad."
"You're full of it," Utahime fights the twitches of her lips trying to curl upward. "Very, very full of it." The upperclassman relents with a sigh a beat later, knowing her arguments are futile. "You're a traitor. I hope you know that you're a traitor to our cause, [First]," you bite your lip to prevent yourself from laughing again. You're failing the longer she goes on. Shoko is your mission partner, but you think it is arguably fair to say Utahime is who you're closest to besides her. When you transferred to Jujutsu Tech, it was Utahime who gave you a tour around the facility when the teachers were suddenly too busy. She was a kind and beautiful upperclassman who came with a lot less monetary baggage than Mei Mei. "First Getou and Shoko, now you," she sips her matcha with a pointed glare in the direction of the tea house windows. Whatever Gojou does, it makes Utahime's amused scowl turn into an annoyed glare.
"I was technically never part of any alliance to hate on Gojou, I'm only an affiliated acquaintance," Shoko laughs lightly, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. "Utahime-senpai, you just have to accept this as part of the new reality. [First] and Gojou have become friends," your mission partner rolls her eyes when you shoot her a pointed look. "Apologies, food-based acquaintances."
Satisfied with her correction, you nod.
It's then Suguru finally reappears, a beverage in hand. Gojou is still waiting by the window for his own order to finish. "What are you guys talking about now?"
"I was telling them about this convenience store by my old high school everyone went to to have mental breakdowns," it's always a pleasure when Suguru looks at you like you've grown a second head. Laughter slips from your lips as easily as breathing. "It's called Adachi's ー that's the owner ー but the joke was to call it Adachi 7-11 because it rips off the 7-11 color scheme. He's a sweet guy though," you quickly add before continuing your spontaneous tale of the incredible 7-11 knock off store.
You eloquently tell your friend that Adachi is the kind of grownup who understand kids have it rough. That it's unknown who it was from Tsubame High that started the tradition of finding aisle to just sit and cry and snack in, but eventually it just became the spot to have freak outs. If you stayed to eat while you freaked, you simply paid for what you ate or drank when you were ready to leave.
Respect someone else's crying space. If you couldn't avoid going into their aisle for something, just politely pretend they don't exist.
If you really needed a cry, Adachi's office is free for someone having a particular trying time.
And last but not least, Adachi's was a judgement free zone.
It was like having a bartender for teenagers. Except in this instance, the only services the bartender offered were snack food, cheap wagashi and a select variety of beverages.
"First, I promise people don't go there to cry as often it I made it sound. Second, I know it sounds weird but it actually was kinda cool," you chuckle as the cursed user shakes his head the longer you go on. "Exam week? We're all basically in there studying and freaking out while eating a bunch of snacks." It really built up a surprising amount of comradery among your classmates you make sure to tack on before taking a break to finish the rest of your tea. "Before you ask, if I'm gonna have a mental breakdown, I prefer having it in the privacy of my own room," or in front of a beluga whale, but that explanation will take forever and a half. "And that... is the story behind Adachi 7-11," you conclude dramatically.
Suguru shakes his head but his expression is playful, "I give you points for the improv, but I'm taking away points for how long your story was."
You click your tongue in mock annoyance, "everybody's a critic. I just wanted to cover all the bases in case you felt so intrigued you wanted to know more about your mysterious classmate."
"You don't have a mysterious bone in your body," Shoko chirps and when you lightly kick her ankle under the table, she kicks back. "Utahime-senpai just feels betrayed that [First] is getting along better with Gojou." At the reminder, Utahime squints in your direction again. 'And after all I've done for you. I should have gone to Kyoto Tech', Utahime sighs into her warm cup. "The We Hate Gojou Alliance is turning into the I Alone Hate Gojou Alliance."
This is when Gojou finally saunters over, drink in hand, "that's because I'm cool and charming."
"You know, if you have to say it, you're probably not as charming as you think you are," Suguru advises with a grin. Gojou promptly ignores it as if he never said anything at all.
"Sucks to be you, Utahime," Gojou sticks out his tongue at the songstress. "[First] and I are practically best friends. Right, [First]?"
The more you deny it, the less convincing you know you sound so you stop with a heavy breath. "Anyway," you pivot the conversation to something other than your food-based truce. "Does anyone know if there are going to be any new 1st years? Or is it gonna be a while before we start seeing some new faces?"
Suguru nods, "I heard from Fujioka-sensei that there are two first years coming enrolling," you perk up at this information. It's a small jujutsu world, so small you didn't even know if you'd be getting any underclassmen. Two 1st years coming in still just seem so small though. From what you've learned though, 2-3 students per grade is average and the school lucked out with your 1st year class having four kids. Suguru points a finger back and forth between you, "she didn't tell me much about them but they're recruits from non-sorcerer families, like us."
Sometimes, life decides to grant you little miracles. "Finally, we're growing in our ranks," you cheer, bumping your cup against Suguru's. "That's less clan politics to hear about!"
The closest you've ever gotten to clan politics in Japan were from anime and dramas and the occasional snippets you learned about the imperial family on the news. That changed when you became a sorcerer. It's a small jujutsu world, you learn things here and there whether you want to or not. Interesting as the stories can be, however, you're glad your family is normal. Everyone at your school from a sorcerer family makes clan politics sound annoying at best and harrowing at worst and that's just from the things you learned from Utahime, Shoko and Mei Mei.
Your other peers aren't so keen on sharing what goes on in their families.
Yamada isn't the friendliest of your upperclassmen.
As for Gojou ー the only one of your classmates from a family apparently worth mentioning ー he doesn't care about clan politics in the slightest and opts to ignore it.
Thus, the Big Three Families still are a mystery to you even with Gojou's close proximity to your person. Nor are there any students at your school that came from either the Zenin or Kamo Clans. There are a couple enrolled at the jujutsu school in Kyoto apparently but you haven't had a chance to meet them. You only had three summaries to go off of when it came to the big name families in jujutsu, all courtesy of Gojou back in May of last year since you couldn't participate in the Sister School Exchange Event in Kyoto.
(Apparently having two special-grade sorcerers for students gave Tokyo Tech the biggest advantage so only Gojou and Suguru got to go. Jerks. Utahime threw a big fit over it too, but at the very least Tokyo won last year.)
"Do you like having rights as a woman?"
"Um, yes?"
"Then you won't like the Zenin Clan.  You know Carnage from the Venom comics in the States?"
"Yeah, my mom reads those."
"That's the Kamo Clan."
"Okay, well what about your family? What's their deal?"
"They have me."
Vague, but clear enough descriptions to paint the necessary pictures ー the Amazing Sexists, the Bloods and the Jujutsu Jesus Havers Club.
Considering that this year the Sister School Exchange event will be taking place in Tokyo, you wonder if this will give you a chance to meet these fancy jujutsu folk. You tell your group as much, sighing in wonder. "It's a good thing you and Gojou won the exchange event, I wanna meet the kids from the other school." That was what you'd been most excited about before Fujioka-sensei dashed all your hopes and dreams. You wanted to see the differences in the campuses and what sort of crazy the teachers had going on. C'est la vie. "What were they like when you went there? Were the big clan kids more refined than Gojou over here?"
You barely dodge the definitely cold hand that was about to touch back of your neck in retaliation while Suguru chuckles out an explanation, "They have a couple folk from the Kamo Clan. They were... nice."
"You hesitated before you said nice," Shoko deadpans.
"They were polite," Suguru pivots his next selection of words in his attempt to remain neutral.
Gojou sticks out his tongue, unimpressed by his best friend's attempts to be cordial, "they were whatever. We didn't really talk to them."
"Boo, you're boring," you shake your head in heavy but mocking disappointment. "Should have just asked Utahime, she's seen them more." Your gazes turn to the oldest person at the table.
Utahime shoulders square off in satisfaction at being deferred to. "There are a couple of Kamo Clan kids at Kyoto Tech, one of them won't be coming because he'll be a fourth year student like me," her spirit drops for a moment and you offer a small smile of reassurance. Fourth year students don't get to participate in Sister School Exchange Event. Hence why she'd been so upset that she'd been unable to participate in it. There's not much you can do to comfort your friend, nor is there anything either of you can do about the past. At the very least, Utahime is nothing if not an optimist. She'll just kick ass in a different category. "As for the younger Kamo, Ririka, she's actually pretty nice when you talk to her but she can be a bit intimidating at times. She'll be a third-year student once school starts."
You make a noise of pleasant surprise, "Kamo Ririka, I'll keep an eye out for her." There's nothing better than a nice but intimidating woman, in your opinion.
"As for everyone else, they're all definitely a lot more tolerable than Gojou, it's not even a competition," Utahime glared at the sunglasses-wearing boy pointedly. He shrugged back without a care in the world, unperturbed as ever. "But while I was visiting home, my mother told me that Zenin Naoya is enrolling in Kyoto Tech so we'll be seeing him in a few months as a first year."
Whoever Zenin Naoya is, just mentioning him immediately makes Gojou groan in annoyance. "I was hoping that brat was gonna get homeschooled," he chews on his straw. You aren't sure how irritated he actually is but you do note how white brows curl in displeasure.
Gojou makes a face, "Zenin Naoya. I can't stand that guy."
You nudge him, lips curling into a light smirk, "I'm sure your fancy rich kid beef isn't that serious."
"No, Gojou actually isn't being hyperbolic this time," you glance over at Shoko. She and Utahime are sporting matching grimaces, brown eyes glancing at one another in understanding. "Zenins are bad but Zenin Naoya is the worst."
Well god damn. You share a look with Suguru who shrugs back, just as lost. That's the problem with not being born into the world of jujutsu, you're behind on all the history and beef going on behind the scenes. You have to learn little by little whether that be through being told or stumbling your way into procuring the knowledge on your own.
Zenin Naoya ー a member of the Amazing Sexists. You glance back at Gojou who has gone back to drinking away at his cup of tea. His partially obscured face doesn't make it any easier to read how he may be feeling underneath the surface.
Either way, you'll form your own opinion on this Naoya person when the sister schools converge in Tokyo.
Second year is definitely going to be something.

Extra:
Fun fact for my fellow Americans and anyone else whose school holidays work differently, while here in the states, the end of summer vacation is when we go up a grade, students go up a grade at the end of spring break in Japan.
Summer vacation in Japan is about 30-40 days long depending on the prefecture from the end of July to the end of August. In Tokyo, I think it's from about July 21st to to August 24th. You come back and you're still in the same class. Winter break is from about December 26 to January 7th. And Spring break is about March 26th to April 5th. Like I said it can change prefecture to prefecture, but the mentioned dates are the standard for Tokyo give or take a few days or two depending on the ward.
Just wanted that knowledge to be shared, if you were curious as to why the reader is going up a grade after spring break. In Japan, the school year starts in April.
I really wanted to work on Reader's initial dynamic with her peers and her personal philosophies in these first few chapters before kicking off into the heavier stuff that comes in 2nd year. Considering how in canon, shit pretty much was smooth sailing for Gojou and co. during their 1st year until the 'Toji really beat the breaks out of 2 teenagers' mission, I wanted to reflect that in these initial chapters. Hopefully you guys have been enjoying it as much as I have. The Sister School Exchange Event is around the corner and those folks are coming to Tokyo, I wonder how that's gonna go >:3c (not that you can participate but there's plot, I assure you).

HOW THEY FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU
Summary: Oh no, they're falling for you. How did it start, and how do they react?
Author's note: Fluff two days in a row? What am I doing. This is AngstCorp not FluffCorp.
Characters: Ayaka, Ayato, Diluc, Kaeya, Zhongli
Warnings: Gender neutral reader, Ayato being slightly manipulative, mention of Zhongli feeling possessive.
Tumblr media
It is a very natural and progressive process with AYAKA. You start by being friends and it all evolves from there. She feels at ease when you spend time together, and she'll try to see you more and more. At first, she struggles with being herself when it's just the two of you, feeling like she needs to keep up the appearances but it's so hard to resist you.
She wants you to meet her, the real her, she wants to bare her heart and soul so you can embrace her as she truly is. And as long as you respond positively to that, she'll let herself fall in love. It's slow, but kind and beautiful, and you'll make many tender memories together before the start of your relationship that you'll fondly recall when you're snuggling on the couch many years later.
Things are a lot more complicated with AYATO. Yes, you catch his eyes and his interest, but he has his position and clan to think about, so he'll have to do a background check on you and maybe observe you to know your true intentions. He tends to take his distance with his feelings and tries to rationalize them. Everything is calculated at first, from where you meet, how he follows the proper courtship steps, how he acts with you, etc. It's not fake per say, but it lacks spontaneity and some sincerity? He'll stop the more he sees you having more genuine and open interactions with other people.
He'll feel a pang of jealousy in his heart, so he'll try to be less calculating the next time he sees you. After that though; the very moment he gets in tune with his emotions, there's no coming back. Ayato will get addicted to this feeling in less than five seconds. He will be desperate to get more and more of you, more of your smile, more of your laugh, more of your gentle touch. The man will have to learn how to control himself all over again when you're in the same room, lest he starts looking at you with loving eyes and the softest smile in front of important people.
DILUC absolutely denies everything and completely ignores his feelings. You're a dear friend and he is simply worried about you, like a good friend should be, and that is why he spends so much time with you, to watch over you and make sure everything is alright. Yes he carries your bags, yes he buys you gifts when he thinks you would like them, yes he makes sure to walk you home when you're alone and it's already late, but it's all friendship. Luckily, Kaeya is here.
There might be tension between them both now, but he still knows his adoptive brother well and it's very obvious to him what's happening exactly. He sees it as his job to give Diluc the push he needs to make him face his feelings. He has quite a few cards up his sleeve, like flirting with you, or having someone else flirt with you, or encouraging you to take a few weeks of vacation for travelling, whatever it takes. When Diluc has no choice than to recognize that yes, he is hopelessly in love with you, he is just unable to pretend anymore. He loves you, he needs you, he wants you. His courtship will be very stiff and quite awkward at first, but give him some time and he'll be the softest partner you could hope for.
KAEYA on the other hand, knows very well what's happening from the very beginning. He knows. He sees all the signs, and he recognizes them for what they are. How his heart skips a beat when he sees you, the butterfly in his stomach when you smile, how he can't stop smiling for hours after seeing you. However, he will be very hesitant to let it grow any further than that. Kaeya has secrets, and they cost him his brother already, he doesn't want to lose you to them too. So for some time, it's going to be weird. Kaeya will switch between being kind and soft with you, and being colder and putting some distance between you.
You can confront him or not about his behaviour, but the moment he realizes he is just hurting you acting like that and being so damn indecisive, he'll stop his nonsense. Who is he even kidding? If he didn't manage to stay away from you before, it's not going to change now. Expect an apology, and a genuine proposition to start over and to please give him a chance to make amends? He'll see himself as a fool for ever thinking he could resist you.
ZHONGLI had a lot of lovers in his long life. It was always people he cared about truly, but there was never a romantic attachment to them. No one he would consider his mate. So he recognizes all the signs when he gets interested in you, and after some consideration, he decides that he would very much like sharing that special bond with you too. Besides, it's the first time he'll have a lover while he lives amongst mortals so he is quite excited to discover that with you. He truly thinks it'll be the same as it has ever been with everyone else.
He is, however, completely and utterly WRONG. It starts simply enough, getting to know each other better, spending time together, slowly building a strong bond, something solid to start your relationship on. He is totally unprepared when all his instincts awaken and it feels all his being is caught on fire. The trigger could be anything, like you getting hurt, seeing someone flirting with you, or simply seeing you wearing one of his gifts on you, but suddenly his soul is a dragon and he is holding you close to his chest, growling possessively. When he manages to calm down and after much confusion from both you and him, that's when he knows he is fucked and this is nothing like before, and it's way too late to go back now.

Just One Question
The Starjumper Stormy Days came to visit the joint Human/K'laxi Starbase.
Starjumpers are some of the oldest ships still being used. They had their heyday back before humans developed their wormhole generators and were used to cruise between human settled worlds at around half the speed of light. Everyone would be in hibernation, and the trip would take between 25 and 40 years depending on the distance.
Most trips were one-way. Trading with people half a century away was difficult at best. Very few people wanted to take a vacation that took a century of time back at home. Some did though.
These days, they use their wormhole generators like everyone else and other star systems are just a jump through a hole rended in spacetime away.
All of the Starjumpers were given the option to "retire" when the wormhole generators were installed. They weren't really needed for their original role, so it was thought they might want to move into bodies, or even be transferred to another ship or a starbase. Very few took the offer. Most expressed a desire to keep their form, to keep working, to keep on.
They do all kinds of jobs now, but their large size (they are 2km long or larger) gives them advantages in cargo hauling.
They're also seen as sources of wisdom in human space. Humans and AIs alike will seek them out for advice when available. They have lived longer than most everyone around and they have probably seen just about everything there is to see.
While connected to Starbase via an umbilical, they spend their time monitoring maintenance and cargo work as well as taking callers.
Most Starjumpers wind up with a full schedule when they're in-system with people asking for advice, counsel, and answering general questions. Stormy Days keeps a FAQ handy, printed on their own letterhead to hand out to kids doing reports for school. The questions are ones that they have received numerous times, and the letterhead makes it look more official, and makes the kids feel special.
While musing to themselves, there's a chime at the umbilical.
"Yes, hello? I didn't think I had any appointments for 15 more minutes?"
There's a Human man and a K'laxi woman on screen. Standing with them, holding both hands is a very small human girl looking very solemn. "I'm so sorry to interrupt you Stormy Days-"
"You can just call me Stormy."
"Thank you. Yes, I'm so sorry to interrupt you Stormy, but my Daughter here saw you through the windows as we walked by and was curious about something. I know we don't have an appointment, but could she ask a question?"
"Yes, I can answer one question, I don't mind. Would you like to come aboard?"
As the iris opened for the umbilical, the child shrank back, but then made a serious face, and strode purposefully forward, into the ship. Her parents dutifully followed behind.
Inside Stormy was much warmer and cozier than either of the adults expected. Where they thought would be large rooms and harsh light was small, intimate spaces and warmth.
"It's so nice in here!" The K'laxi said. "I would have never imagined a Starjumper to be so...so...cozy!"
Stormy chuckled. "Well, most of the time it's just me, and I like things cozy, so that's how I am. So, whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?"
"Oh yes, Hi. My name is Ullaria, and this is my partner Mitchel, and our daughter Patricia. She goes by Patty."
"Good afternoon Patty. How are you?"
Patty looked up at the voice coming from the ceiling. "m'good."
"Excellent. How old are you Patty?"
She holds up 4 fingers to the ceiling.
"That's wonderful. Your parents said you had a question"
"Yah, I hava question. What's your most favoritest day?"
Stormy stopped. They had never gotten a question like that before. Most people asked for advice about themselves or something going on in their life, or asked more data driven questions like how old they were or how many light years they've traveled.
"My Most Favoritest Day? Wow. That is a good question Patty. Thank you for asking. I'll need to think for a moment. Please wait here."
The family sat down, and opened a bag. In it was a clear plastic bag of snacks, and they gave the bag to Patty. She began eating the crackers carefully.
About half a bag of crackers later, Stormy spoke up. "Thank you for waiting. My most favorite day ever was the first day I used my wormhole generator. Before that, I used my Stardrive to go between planets. It was a lot of fun, but the ride was lonely sometimes and it took a long time. With the wormhole generator, I was able to go from Earth to Parvati in less time than it took for you to eat a cracker! The first time I did it, I laughed out loud for nearly a whole minute. It was amazing, and exhilarating and exciting and I want to thank you Patty and Mitchell and Ullaria.
"Thank us?" Mitchell looked confused. "You're welcome of course, but why?"
"For giving me cause to remember my most favorite day of course! Thank you!"

Stuckony and space cruise ship AU for the 5 headcanons?
A space CRUISE SHIP!? :0 You are all so creative and here I am like "lol how can I make these men as stupid as possible." Anyway we have the return of feline-based alien Tony.
Steve and Bucky get hired on the cruise ship so they can travel. They know they'll never be able to afford it otherwise, and because the cruises can last for up to five years, there is a cycling crew; they get two days off a week, along with a full month off after six months working. They're feeling kind of lost after their military service and this seems like a good time to explore while they're trying to figure out what to do with their lives, so they sign up for a five-year cycle. Technically they're both supposed to be waiters, but the manager watches Steve get super flustered with just one (1) alien flirting with him and he gets booted to bartender instead. Steve considers this a godsend even though it's technically a demotion--he doesn't get the tips he would have as a waiter. That being said, Bucky leans into being flirty and more than makes up for it. It's not like they're looking for dates, since they're pretty happy with what they have. Still, sometimes Bucky tells him about an interesting (and interested *wink-wink*) customer who's willing to wait for their day off to... 'meet up.' Steve contends the girl with the tentacles was the most fun, but Bucky is very passionate about it having been the genderless alien who could fuck them both at once was better.
Tony Stark is infamous for taking long cruises. Many people say it's because his species will just randomly drop dead if they're too stressed, but mostly it's because he's actually the head designer on most of the engineering for the cruise ships. He's there because he's checking out how things are running. He's working. It's not a vacation. Or. Well. Sometimes it is. There's only so much he can do when he's waiting for the ship to shift into different gear. Also Pepper and Happy have threatened him with making him take a different cruise ship to make him fucking take his vacation time if he doesn't. So sometimes he lounges around and pretends he's not anxious to get back to work. (His species does not randomly drop dead, but he's not gonna tell anyone that. It's great for when his board of directors start getting annoying and he can just rub his chest and they all get nervous he's about to die and shut up.) Pepper had made noises about Tony needing to take some vacation time again, and it's been a while since he's gone on a long-term cruise, so he signs up to do a three-year cruise to check on things and drink margaritas while sailing through stardust.
Bucky sees Tony first. He's at one of the nice tables, for people who are especially important. He's never heard of the name Tony Carbonell, and searching him on his tablet doesn't bring up much. He's not high enough in the pecking order to serve at those tables (maybe next year, when the next wave of one-year contracts come on). Tony is incredibly attractive. Bucky has seen him lounging on the deck during the warmer parts of the trip, booty shorts slung low on his hips, crop top baring a muscular stomach, and he wants to lick it so badly. So he takes note of the things Tony orders by peeking in the kitchen. He knows Tony likes to have margaritas, and martinis, and the occasional mojito or gin fizz. So he tells Steve the next time Tony orders something, send him a 'complimentary' espresso martini. (It won't be free you idiot it's coming out of my tips oh my god.) Steve has seen Tony working out in the gym. The ship has a massive rock climbing wall, and Tony scales it as if it was as easy as scaling a fucking ladder. He is impressed not only by Tony's physical skill, but also how quick-minded he is. Some of the paths on the rock climbing wall are difficult, and Tony has scaled them all, even one where he had to leap five feet to the next hand-hold. So, the next time he gets an order for Tony, he adds an espresso martini, because Bucky says it'll catch Tony's interest, and Bucky's always been better at this thing than him.
Tony raises an eyebrow at the espresso martini, but he does enjoy it, and when he turns to peer at the bartender, he gets a shy wave. That's pretty cute, honestly. He waves back, smitten. He's gonna eat the bartender alive. Except apparently the bartender has a boyfriend. Tony is not technically opposed, but the boyfriend looks a little more... outgoing? Experienced? And he was kind of looking forward to debauching the bartender. Then again, he's never actually had sex with a terran before. It might be nice to tick that box. Two of them even! The pair don't get off until nine, so he has plenty of time to think about it. He takes a the couple hours to wander the ship from stem to stern, observing the go-kart track, the Ferris wheel, the mini golf course. This ship has a lot more amenities than the ones he usually travels on. He'll have to check on the energy pull for everything, do some research. He's been feeling kind of antsy, doing nothing. (Being done by no one too.) Maybe, after he's rocked these Terrans' worlds, he can get some work on the reactors done. Tony pauses by the pool and wrinkles his nose. Water. He's seen the Terrans in it, swimming laps, and then moving over to the hot tub. He doesn't see the point of just sitting in wet. Maybe it's a Terran thing. Maybe he can ask, if the Terrans are in any condition after sex.
"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME," Tony yowls once he comes back into his body. "I don't see what I've done wrong," Steve says, crossing his arms over his chest with a scowl. "You were enjoying yourself. Bucky said your eyes crossed." "I'm on this stupid cruise for THREE YEARS and now all I'm gonna be able to think about is getting railed by Terrans," Tony wails. "I have work!" "Oh," Steve says, looking smug. Tony points in his face, scowling. "Don't fucking get smug. You knocked over a bottle of wine when you waved at me. You were supposed to be shy. I was supposed to ruin you!" Steve squints at him in confusion. "Bucky had you sit on his face for an hour, how are you supposed to ruin me when he's my boyfriend?" Tony is absolutely incensed that Steve has a point. "Shut up." "No," Steve says, reaching out to idly scratch around the base of Tony's tail. "Bucky will be back with snacks soon and he'll take your whining at a challenge, so get it all out now." "I can't believe I'm gonna ask you guys to fuck me again," Tony mutters, fuming. Steve raises an eyebrow. "You don't have to." "No, I'm gonna," Tony sighs in frustration, and then is too distracted by the smell of fried piscosos as Bucky shoulders his way into the room to notice or care when Steve bursts out laughing.
Bonus: Steve and Bucky show him the beauty of the hot tub because somehow even with his superior spine he is sore. He still doesn't like sitting in wet but he has to admit the heat and the jets do wonders for his aching body. "Don't fucking touch me," he snaps when they try to get handsy. If they do, he will surely lose the battle to his instincts and thump them, maybe even show claws. All he can do is sit and sulk. It's the funniest thing Steve and Bucky have ever seen but they can't possibly tell him so.

Do you have some more modern!pruaus headcanons? And if yes would you want to share them? 🙏🙏
omg yes girl I got u
MODERN PRUAUS OKAY, while I gather myself to go get a pizza and cure my hangover,
They don't live together. They do long stays with each other on and off. They are in a nice place where they aren't arguing seriously, they are trying to be considerate and kind- they have come such a long way. I think they made it official in the 2000s but have been seeing each other since the 50s, being gentle about it. They are too old for problems. Gilbert has always been desperately in love, and gave up for a long time on Roderich and finally when he really gave gave and decided to just try and move on Roderich is like hey :) which blows Gilbert's mind.
When they spend time together, they like to go on walks, they love going out to eat, Roderich days Gilbert to the theatre which Gilbert also enjoys. Museums. They probably travel around- vacations in Greece and Croatia, drinking wine and whatever. It is relaxed.
However just because they're slow and chill doesn't mean they both aren't fucking insane. Roderich and Gilbert have been kicked out of many restaurants, Gilbert enjoys causing ruckuses still. The whole matter of them making it official Outraged basically everyone they know- Ludwig still isn't very happy with this ("after ALL THAT? AFTER HOW MANY WARS? AFTER WHAT YOU pUT ME THROUGH? AND NOW-"), many people were concerned for Roderich because Gilbert is known to be a fucking maniac. It was a lot of drama. But they held firm and told everyone to fuck off- Gilbert especially.
Sometimes the past haunts them, but both Roderich and Gilbert have made a choice to try their best to look beyond the past- really, they couldn't work without that. Gilbert is certain that this time they will make it work! And Roderich is too. They compliment each other well. They nap a lot. They're so old!
If you'd like even more specifics let me know that's kind of my overview

Just now "going to bed" (more like a nap since I'm gonna get up at 11am) @_@ everything took longer than I hoped, but it's cause I misplaced SO many things I needed to pack, and I also had a lot of pet stuff to take care of to make sure they all have extra provisions, I'm so sore from bending over stuff all day, traveling to the airport is gonna suck sooooo bad but it'll be worth it..
When gloomy is at work I should have the place to myself this time, no housemate drama, and I'm determined to use that wonderful peace and quiet and NOT being cooped up in a bedroom all day to get some art done, I packed my laptop and tablet, my comfy lap desk, (headphones and controller for some gaming with my siblings long distance too), I keep mentally calling this my sabbatical even though it's kind of the opposite plan but what I DO really need a break from is my stressful household .. so to me it feels like that!
Hopefully anyway..... if my fatigue doesn't kill my and my arthritis has been acting up a ton but ;;;; even if I can't get much done as planned, the break will still be nice..
The last time I had a whole place to myself was last October when I was working at the haunted house, my trip overlapped with my previous roommates being away on vacation so I stayed at my old apartment lmao but it worked out great because it meant I'd be there to take care of the pets and water the plants! That was a nice break from home but, since I was was working my butt off I didn't have a lot of me time, and the weather was TERRIBLE as soon as the haunt was over..
Prior to that uh... I don't even know when I had any place to myself last ... it would be quite some time ago.. anyway so.. I'm looking forward to it, not to say I don't wanna spend time with my partner fbhdjdskdks I DO and I would be happy if they had the whole week off even, I don't mind sharing space with them because they respect my needs to be like ghost mode where I'm given full mental space like I'm not even there (which is SO difficult to get anyone else to understand so I'm grateful my brand of autism is understood..), but regardless they're gonna be working so it's gonna be me time in the day (missing their presence 😔) and us time at night and on the weekend, I reckon it would be a glimpse of living together in the future because it's likely gonna be the situation of them working a 9-5 (or similar) and me working from home (or working a job but super part time) AND that also means I can do domestic things like make dinner before they get home and whatnot...
Yeah anyway if you read all this I'm impressed jsgjksekfhsjd kinda just got carried away Journaling

Worth the Risk: A Smoker/OC Romance - Chapter 1: Confession, Part 1
Summary: Kuzan forces Smoker into a much-needed, but not wanted, vacation. While there, Smoker runs into a pirate who's been eluding his capture for years. They decide to put their differences aside, just for a little, and as it turns out, two people don't have to be enemies just because they're a pirate and a Marine. They might even fall in love.
Chapter 1 word count: 2738
Tashigi walked the well-traveled halls of Marineford towards Smoker’s office. It had been three weeks since she’d last seen her mentor, and he had only arrived back at base earlier that morning. She’d been occupied with handling some of the lower recruits under her command so she hadn’t gotten to see him when his ship came in. When an ensign had found her to let her know Smoker wanted to see her in his office, she assumed he wanted an update on what had been happening while he was away. It was now early evening and she’d hoped to speak to him sooner, but work had kept her busy.
Smoker had just recently returned from vacation, one he had been forced to take and only begrudgingly accepted. From what he had told her before he left, Admiral Aokiji himself had strong-armed him into it. Smoker was never the kind of man who liked to take time off from work. As a Captain, and Tashigi’s mentor, he always felt that there was too much to do. He might take a few days to visit family a few times a year, but that was the extent of what he considered a vacation. The man was a workaholic. She knew he was dedicated to his role as a Marine, she knew he had aspirations of climbing even higher up the ranks, and she admired that about him immensely. But he also didn’t seem to have an off switch, and that worried her. He was just a man, not a machine, and though her boss had been rather pissed at the forced time off, she was hopeful that some time away had done him good.
Reaching the familiar door, Tashigi knocked. “Come in,” Smoker’s gruff voice called. When she entered the room, Smoker was still in his civilian clothes, perched by the window, looking out over the sea. His face held an expression she couldn’t place, one she was sure she hadn’t seen from him in their years working together. He didn’t even look over at her.
“Welcome back, sir,” she said, saluting. “I’m sure you want to hear all about what’s been going on. We’ve had a few reports of–”
“Tashigi,” he cut her off. “Sit down.”
Smoker could be curt, that was nothing new, but there was something in his voice that worried her. Had she done something wrong? Was she in trouble? She wracked her brain to think of what it could possibly be. As ordered, she sat in the threadbare seat across from his desk. Smoker removed himself from the window and sat in his desk chair, pulling a cigar from the desk drawer and lighting it. The silence was killing her, but she knew him well enough to know that he would speak in his own time.
Inhaling deeply from his cigar and letting out a sigh, Smoker finally spoke. “Tashigi, I need to tell you something,” he said. “I…don’t know how you’re going to react. You’ll probably be pissed at me if I’m being honest, but I need to get this out and you’re the only person I can talk to about it.” For the first time since she entered the room, he looked up at her, his eyes boring into hers with a desperation she had never seen. Smoker was never shy about admitting his frustration or annoyance, but there were many emotions he kept close to his chest, and some he only revealed to her as one of his closest friends. But this was something she’d never seen before. He looked like he was about to say something, then lowered his face into a hand.
“Captain….Smoker…” she said cautiously, reverting to using his name only as she often did when they were able to speak as friends. “Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
“I know,” he said. “But Tashigi….this is big.” Smoker sat back in his chair. “If you’re angry at me about this, I accept that. If you want to request a transfer, I’d hate it but I accept that too. I’d probably do the same.” Now she was getting really worried. What could possibly make Smoker say something like this? “Whatever your reaction, I need you to promise me – no, swear to me – that what I’m about to tell you will never leave this room. I’m not ordering you as my subordinate, I’m asking you as my friend. I need to talk to someone about this, and I trust you. Please, keep this between us.”
Tashigi could only nod. “Yes…yes, of course. Whatever it is, it’ll stay between us. I promise.”
Smoker held her gaze for a second, then nodded, satisfied. He rose from his chair and paced back towards the window, allowing the smoke to drift out the window and into the evening air.
“While I was on vacation,” he began hesitantly. “I met someone. A woman. I mean, I didn’t just meet her for the first time, I’ve sort of known her for a while, I–” Smoker stopped himself and took a deep breath. He was rambling. Very unbecoming of a Captain. “I fell in love with her. Hard.”
Tashigi’s eyes widened in shock. That was not what she expected. Smoker was in love? She knew he’d had some casual relationships over the years, but she never imagined him to be the kind of person to really fall in love. He was far too committed to his job for that, and far too emotionally guarded. It was no secret that the higher up one rose in the Marines the less likely they were to be able to balance their career and any sort of external social life. To her knowledge neither Sengoku nor any of the Admirals had family or romantic partners, and only a handful of Vice Admirals like Garp and Tsuru had family in their lives, and they’d had them before they reached their current titles. To be that high up in the Navy was an all-consuming position, and for most people who wanted it, family and romance was something they accepted having to do without. Smoker had always been so dead set on reaching the top, she had always assumed he felt like a relationship would just slow him down.
But here he was, telling her he was in love with someone. When the shock subsided, she immediately felt that this could be good for him. Really good, actually. It would be beneficial for him to have someone to take the edge off of his busy life, someone to support him in a personal way that even his friends couldn’t. She was honestly kind of thrilled.
“Smoker…that’s amazing!” Tashigi said, beaming. “I mean I’m shocked, but I’m so happy for you!” Smoker’s lips curled up in a half smile. There was something more to it, there had to be. Why would he be so nervous about telling her if there wasn’t? “But….I’m sensing there’s a ‘but.’”
Smoker huffed out a halfhearted laugh. “There is. She’s beautiful. She’s smart, funny, and passionate. She’s strong and kind and….But….”
A beat of silence fell between them. To Tashigi, it felt like forever.
“...She’s a pirate.”
Oh. There it was. That was a hell of a “but.”
Tashigi said nothing, looking down as she felt Smoker’s eyes on her, waiting for a reaction. It was a lot to process.
“Okay,” she said, adjusting her glasses. The emotionally intelligent being-a-good-friend side of her brain was suddenly very at odds with the logical side of her brain. She tried not to let the warring factions in her head show on her face. “So are you…together? A couple, I mean?”
Smoker let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “We are. I mean, we’re going to try to make it work. I love her so much I can't just not try. But it’s a risk. It’s a huge fucking risk, everything I’ve ever worked for could be gone if anyone else found out, and I don’t know what I’m doing, I feel like –”
“Smoker,” she cut him off before he spiraled. “Smoker, it’s okay. Your secret is safe with me. We’ll figure this out together.”
Smoker looked down at his lap, in a way that almost reminded Tashigi of a child apologizing for doing something wrong. “Do you hate me? Does this make me a bad Marine? I feel like such a traitor.”
Tashigi almost laughed. “Smoker. Of course not.” His shoulders slumped in relief. “Don’t beat yourself up over this. You can’t help who you fall in love with.”
“Maybe not,” he said, gripping his cigar tightly in his hand. “But I can help who I spend time with. Who I go to bed with. Who I allow myself to open up to. I control those things, and I made that choice with her every fucking day for two weeks. And now here I am, a goddamn Marine Captain in love with a pirate. Fuck.” He hissed out the swear with a puff of smoke.
Tashigi leaned forward in her seat, smiling softly. “Tell me what happened. Tell me about her.”
With another puff from his cigar, Smoker began his story.
Just under a month before, Smoker had sat in Admiral Aokiji’s office, not even bothering to hide his annoyance from the older man. Aojiki - Kuzan, as he was when they were able to speak openly as friends - had recently received a report showing the usage of paid time off amongst those in his chain of command. And, well, he wasn’t pleased with what he saw next to Smoker’s name.
“I can’t believe you’re making me do this,” Smoker said, arms crossed as he sat on the couch across from the Admiral. For a man in his early 30’s, his expression and crossed arms were much like that of a child angry about an unfair punishment. “Forcing me to go on vacation. It’s ridiculous.”
Kuzan muffled a laugh as he poured out two glasses of whiskey. “Smoker, you’ve been in the service for fifteen years. You have almost two full years’ worth of paid time off you haven’t taken. It’s not healthy, man. If it was anyone else I’d let it slide, but I’m not gonna watch you work yourself to death.” He held the glass out to the younger man, something of a peace offering. Smoker took it from his hand.
“I take time off,” he replied. “I go visit my family in Loguetown sometimes.”
Kuzan scoffed. “That’s hardly a vacation. I admire that you like to spend time with your mom and your nephews, but when’s the last time you took time for you to just do nothing?”
Smoker rolled his eyes and took a sip from the glass. “You’re one to talk. When’s the last time you took a vacation?”
“I’ll have you know I take time for myself regularly, as allowed. We Admirals are expected to always be on duty, but I’m as human as the other guys are. Well, except maybe Sakazuki. He might be a robot.” Smoker huffed out a laugh in response.
“I’m…not good at the whole ‘doing nothing’ thing, okay?” he said, getting to the root of his reluctance as he swirled the liquid in the glass. “If I don’t have something to do, something to work on, I’m gonna get bored and fidgety and I’ll fixate on everything I could be doing back here. My brain doesn’t shut off just because I’m on some island with a fruity drink in my hand. It’s like there’s a checklist in my mind that’s constantly growing and not being able to do anything about it just stresses me out even more.”
Kuzan nodded. “Hey, I get it,” he said softly. Workaholics tended to flock to the Marines. Smoker wasn’t the first person he’d met who wasn’t satisfied unless he had boxes to check off, and he wouldn’t be the last. But the thought of checklists gave him an idea. “How about this? What if we made you a vacation to-do list?”
Smoker cocked an eyebrow. “A to-do list? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of vacation?”
“For a normal person, maybe,” Kuzan said with a sly smile. “But you said it yourself, you need to check off boxes. You need to feel accomplished or you can’t relax. So what if we gave you some things to accomplish on vacation, but they’re…relaxing, vacation-type things? That way you feel like you’re doing something while not actually doing anything at all.”
Smoker looked at the Admiral skeptically. Kuzan looked very proud of himself. With a sigh, he relented. “All right, I’ll give it a try.”
Kuzan smiled broadly. “Great!” Moving to his desk, Kuzan pulled out a pad of paper and began to write down some things he thought Smoker would find somewhat challenging but would ultimately be good for him. Smoker stayed on the couch and watched him, both amused at the idea and a little curious at what his friend would come up with. After a few minutes of writing, Kuzan ripped the sheet from the pad and handed it to Smoker. Scrawled in messy handwriting across the top of the page were the words “Smoker’s Super Fun Vacation To-Do List.” Smoker couldn’t help but laugh, pulling the cigar from his mouth. Below that were a series of items with a check box next to each. Smoker read them aloud as he looked down the list.
“Read a book cover to cover (cannot be about history, weaponry, or military-related in any way). Come on, man,” he said, “Those are the only things I like to read about.”
“Branch out,” Kuzan responded, laughing. “Broaden your horizons! Onto the next one.”
“Ride your motorcycle. Easy enough, I won’t say no to that.” He continued: “Go fishing. If you catch something, cook it. Ugh, I suck at cooking, you know this,” Smoker said.
Kuzan laughed. “Maybe that book you read can be a cookbook. Keep going.”
“Talk to a pretty lady. Optional: Sleep with pretty lady? Really, Kuzan?”
The Admiral shrugged. “Hey, everyone needs a little love sometimes. It’d do you good.” Smoker rolled his eyes and continued.
“DON’T exercise for any three days.” Following this were three numbered checkboxes. “So you want me to get laid but you don’t want me to exercise?”
“For the purposes of this little experiment, we won’t count sex as exercise. Sound fair?”
“Pfft.” Smoker huffed. Kuzan could have sworn he heard him mutter something about ‘doing it wrong.’
“Take a nap on the beach. I can do that.” And the next one: “Buy something you wouldn’t normally spend money on.” Smoker stopped reading and looked up, lost in thought. He was a minimalist by nature. He didn’t typically buy things he didn’t need, and he hated clutter. “That’ll be a tough one,” he acknowledged.
Kuzan only smiled and sipped his whiskey. “Last one,” he said, encouraging Smoker on.
“If you see a pirate, don’t arrest them. Are you fucking kidding me? Kuzan, we’re Marines, it’s our job to arrest pirates.” Smoker had been on board until this point.
“Smoker, the island where you’re going is unlikely to have pirates, or at least any of value. It’s too small and hard to reach to be a useful port for the average pirate crew. And on the off chance you see one, you have a transponder snail. Call for backup, don’t interfere unless someone is in danger. But while you’re on vacation, you are not to work, and that is an order. ”
Smoker narrowed his eyes. “Fine. I won’t arrest anyone. But you better believe I’ll make sure they don’t walk out of there free, one way or another.” He folded the checklist and slipped it into his pocket.
Kuzan smiled and finished his drink, with Smoker following his lead and swallowing the last of the amber liquid. “I’d expect nothing less. Now get going, and try to enjoy yourself, ‘kay?”
Smoker nodded. “I’ll try. See you in a few weeks.” Kuzan clapped his friend affectionately on the back and Smoker exited the office. He stopped by his room to grab the last of his things and make his way to the port. Tashigi saw him off and wished him a pleasant journey and then, taking one last look around the ship to make sure he had everything, Smoker released the small one-man boat from its mooring and set sail.

So in your rewrite why did Araphel destroy Kulzak’s eye and why didn’t Irene heal it. Also do you have any more Kulzak crumbs I humbly beg.
I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!
In my rewrites Araphel did destroy Kul'zak's eye, it actually happened during that final fight against him as an attempt to stop Kul'zak from shattering his relic. It didn't work, but whatever fucked up and evil magic Araphel used to destroy Kul'zak's eye was something Irene couldn't heal. She tried to, but the wound always repelled her magic away and just didn't work at all.
After the failed attempts Enki whisked Kul'zak off to one of their vacation homes in Galruk and tried to heal him in a variety of different ways. The one that had the most promise and that is considered a core memory for both of them was a potion that Enki spent almost a year figuring out the components for, gathering said components, and then brewing. It was a long, arduous process, and multiple times Kul'zak told Enki that this wasn't necessary. He was perfectly content living without his eye, it was his idea after all, if this is the price to pay then it was worth it.
But Enki can't live with that. "What's the point of all this knowledge if I can't use it to help the people I love?" In the end it didn't work, but the attempt was greatly appreciated. Kul'zak did their best not to let this keep them down, instead turning to try and understand/love this new aspect of his appearance from an artistic sense. He had paintings commissioned of him that depicted him with this new eye in a beautiful way, hoping to show to his fellow wanderers and everyone who saw him that this change didn't make him any less beautiful or worthy of love than before. He and one of their muses even wrote a song about the "One Eyed Wanderer" to cement that this is who Kul'zak is now, and they can live with that.
Oh yeah Kul'zak is so nonbinary in my brain it's not even funny. Every time I think of Kul'zak I just think "You would use neopronouns". Probably star/starself would be their favorites bc Kul'zak is such an astronomer/astrology girl. It's actually how astronomy started as a science in the ancient days. Wanderers, merchants, sailors, farmers, normal people just looked at the stars a lot and noticed patterns in them, wrote those patterns down, and then theorized about them. I imagine stargazing is one of stars favorite pastimes, something they tried to do with each of the divine warriors at least once, including Xavier who wasn't even divine, just this simp who Kul'zak was fond of.
Kul'zak does have everyone's sun signs memorized and Enki is the only one who fully understands what they're saying. Menphina's in a bitchy mood one day and Kul'zak barks "Stop being such a Gemini," to which she yells back "Shove those stars up your ass!!" Irene understands it kind of because she asked Kul'zak what the hell they meant when star said she was "Being a total Sagittarius." Esmund and Araphel do not understand this weird star bull shit at all, but Kul'zak is having fun and they don't understand half of what he says anyways.
I think a lot of music in the MCD world was composed by Kul'zak. He learned how to play many instruments in his time, and possibly made a few of his own, probably some of the weirder ones that have fallen into obscurity. Some of his compositions are credited to different people, and some don't even have his name on it, but that really wouldn't bother them. As long as there is music in the places star once called home, Kul'zak is happy.
Unlike some of his peers, Kul'zak could honestly care less whether anyone remembers him in the future. His name could fall into complete obscurity, his relic could be left to rot somewhere where it will never be found, and all his findings could be attributed to someone else. As long as there are still wanderers, poets, musicians, bards, travelers, and those with free spirits who let themselves love the world they live in the way he did, they're happy. As long as there's still a world for them, he did his job right.

Love Takes Time - Koisuru Boukun
Tumblr media
Pairing: Morinaga Tetsuhiro x Tatsumi Souichi
Summary: Morinaga comes home from work to visit Tatsumi, as usual, but he wants to make sure they're more than physical, for his senpai to really trust and be comfortable around him!
Words: 1745
CW: SFW; Fluff; Domestic Fluff.
AN: Soooo...this was my first fic written quite a while ago and I'm finally motivated to get back to writing, so I'm starting things over on Tumblr by reposting this! Enjoy babes. I JUST WANTED THEM TO BE CUTE YOUR HONOR!
Please, do not repost or translate.
Tumblr media
MORINAGA finally had a chance to travel home after finishing his work ahead of time as he started his vacation period. After going out to eat with his senpai, they came back – this time to the new apartment he had moved into.
As Tatsumi took a shower, Morinaga was taken by thoughts, alone in the kitchen. AsSouichi opened the door, he was startled at finding that figure standing there – both because of how handsome he knew Morinaga was (and not seeing him as regularly as before gave it a whole new effect on him) and because of the serious look in his face. Did he do something to hurt him without realizing it?
After a few seconds of looking at each other, Morinaga seemed to come back to himself. Looking down and smiling tenderly, he started:
“Senpai, as time passes, I’ve been thinking more about what kind of life I see myself having in the future. I believe I’ve made it clear by now that of course you’re a part of it, no matter what”.
Tatsumi was slightly worried as he didn’t know in which direction that conversation was leading.
Morinaga continued:
“You know I’m the happiest just by being the one that comes back to you when returning home, but…I want to be the closest to you, senpai. And I want you to feel comfortable when you’re with me as well”.
Tatsumi was dumbstruck. It was true there were some barriers between them. He felt a clench in his heart by thinking it was probably mainly because of his own “self-defense mode” - although Morinaga had his share too.
“Senpai, we’ve known each other for quite a while and been in a relationship for some time too. So…I’ve made a resolution”. He had a smile on his lips and watched Tatsumi warmly. “I’m not holding back any longer”.
“...Wha-!?!” Tatsumi considered whether he should flee out through the door and run away while he still had a chance, but he continued to listen.
“Hehehe. Don’t worry, that’s not exactly what I mean!” And with a satisfied look: “From now on I’m doing all the things couples do with you senpai – and I decided to take the initiative as it was impossible you’d do it...”.
He got closer to his wary senpai and took his hand.
“You know, I really miss you when I’m away. I really want to hug you; to feel your hair and your warmth; I want to kiss you and cherish you. I’m going to do it all as my heart tells me; even if you hit me, I’ll be diligent!”.
“What is this idiot talking about?” thought Tatsumi.
“I’ll take my time, though. I’ll let you slowly get used to it”. And with that, he pulled his senpai closer and softly kissed his forehead, leaving to his room and then to the bathroom for a shower, in high spirits the rest of the night.
Tatsumi’s mind was blanked out. As soon as he put himself together, he ran and locked himself inside his room.
* * *
In the morning, Tatsumi, still sleepy, forgot about what happened for a minute, being instantly reminded by a:
“Good morning, senpai~ ♥”.
“Mornin...” he replied, squinting his eyes suspiciously in the direction he was standing in. Throughout the day he would avoid getting too close to Morinaga, almost keeping an imaginary safety zone. When he realized how the guy had a grin every time he noticed that behavior, he even considered whether he said that just to mess around with him. Still, he didn’t let his guard down.
Tetsuhiro had a clear strategy in his head though. So that it wouldn’t end up being even worse, he was willing to make use of all of his self-control. To begin with, every three days he would try some sort of skinship and, wherever he had a chance, he would make questions about things he wanted to know regarding his senpai – that also helped them to engage in general conversations, rather than keeping it physical.
He was conscious that, although they had changed so much until then, he had to be a little more mature towards their life together; he couldn’t let his selfish desires lead him on. He truly wanted to establish a genuine bond with Souichi. This time, he had a week of vacation; it would be enough for giving it a try and, after that, he could approach him every time he came home.
At first, when his senpai was a little more relaxed, he would give him a good morning back hug. Morinaga was, indeed, hit by an angry Tatsumi – who did feel flustered inside. During breakfast, when pouring him coffee, he would give him a soft peck on the cheek with an “Enjoy your food~”.
As he expected himself, he wasn’t all that strong, and sometimes, taken by lust, he crossed that line and took Tatsumi to bed in a hurried sequence of actions.
Morinaga also sat purposefully close to him at night if he was around reading or working in the living room. He bumped his feet on his senpai’s and caressed them lightly before he stood up and left, cursing. At this point, at least, he wasn’t as violent, limited to the use of some heavy vocabulary to express his indignation.
Although Tatsumi was having a hard time, as all that felt more teasing than bonding, he also sensed he was less and less bothered by Tetsuhiro’s caring attacks. He was aware the guy wasn’t going to stop and, furthermore, that his feelings weren’t fake, it was just...he had a different way of showing affection. But, if he was supposed to keep his word and accept Morinaga that way, maybe consolidating proper communication was the most important thing to do. Both of them had strong personalities and, in order to work it out, the two of them would have to adapt and give up some things every once in a while.
Even with those thoughts in mind, a few days later, when Morinaga tried holding his hand when they were waiting for the meal to finish cooking, he felt his face burning hot and quickly escaped.
* * *
On a Friday night, Morinaga was traveling back to the apartment to stay for the weekend, when he got a message from Tatsumi:
We had a setback at the lab
I’ll be a little late, sorry
You can just get in first
Back on the campus, Souichi’s research experiment went wrong and they lost about two months of work from that set. After trying to find the problem and solve it, he and his exhausted helpers called it a day and left. On his way home, all the mad anger felt earlier had already turned into frustration, and the exhaustion in his body made it even harder on him.
Even though it was late, when he entered he found Morinaga awake, watching something on the TV, and a bowl of soup waiting for him over the table. He greeted:
“I’m home”.
“Oh, welcome home, senpai. Though I should be the one saying your line”, Morinaga replied with a soft laugh.
“Ah, right. How was the trip? You should have gone to bed; you must be tired”.
“No, it’s fine; I thought I’d wait for you”. And realizing his tired expression “By the way, what happened in the lab? Is everything alright?”
Morinaga listened to the explanation as Tatsumi sat down and ate.
“Senpai, I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something to help”.
“...Yeah...it’s okay. It is very unfortunate, but I guess that’s part of an experiment, isn’t it?”
He wondered if Tetsuhiro was still working there it would have happened differently. He was good at noticing details he sometimes left behind.
“Senpai, you’re the one who should head over to the shower and then take some rest. I’ll take care of the dishes, so don’t worry”.
He did need that to deny it, so he simply complied and said a quiet “Okay, thank you”.
After finishing with the few dishes, Morinaga went back to the sofa, since he was a little curious about how the show ended. In the meantime, Tatsumi came out of the bathroom in his pajamas.
“Hey, you’re still watching it?”
“Ah yeah. It’s kind of interesting, actually”.
He went over and sat by his side. He was very close and Morinaga felt his knee touching Souichi’s leg. He was surprised but happy. Right then, he turned slightly towards him and noticed his senpai’s sight was pointing down, distracted. He knew how dedicated he was to his work so that day must have been really rough. Morinaga reached out and held his hand. Tatsumi startled and frowned for a bit, then he hesitated, but stayed still like that. He fondled his senpai’s hand and felt him tighten the grip between them.
Tetsuhiro smiled; that’s what he wanted, to be someone to be relied on by the one he loved. He snuggled closer and watched as Souichi moved his face almost as if placing it on his shoulder. They stayed there silent, only enveloped by the white noise coming from the screen in front of them.
About half an hour later, Souichi dozed out, using Morinaga as a pillow. He looked down to catch a glimpse of one of the most precious things he had ever seen. He carefully turned off the TV and carried him to his room. He covered him and was about to leave…but he couldn’t let that chance go to waste. He laid by his side, cuddling him and setting his head at Souchi’s nape, feeling the soft hair brush against his nose as he fell asleep.
* * *
When he woke up, Tatsumi took a second to notice another body was close to his own and gasped at the arms holding him. He then remembered what came about last night, calculating what he should do now.
But...but...that heat was so cozy...he had no reason to get away from there. He could just pretend he was still sleeping and enjoy it a little more. He was happy that, after all, Morinaga had put so much effort to help him learn how much he could like this kind of thing.
Meanwhile, Morinaga, who was awake all the time, did his best so Souichi wouldn’t notice. When he leaned back again into his chest, relieved, he tightened his embrace, pretending it was out of reflex.

hellooo miss guardian ૮꒰ྀི∩´ ᵕ `∩꒱ྀིა would u like to share how you met your non-inazuman lovers ? were they travelling in inazuma or were you visiting other nations ? O:
hello there, miss jade~ thank you for your curiosity!
i was the one traveling, as my elders, after decades upon decades of restless protection of the forest, forced me to take a vacation, possibly away from inazuma so i could truly enjoy my free time. and it was during these trips, since as of now they're a yearly occurrence, that i met my lovers!, or at least almost all of them. as for how i met them, the means are all different and some even kinda unique, and since my heart belongs to many, i hope you won't mind this old kitsune's ramblings~
(note by the admin: it's 10+ ships even without the inazuma ones, so grab a snack and a drink cuz this is gonna take a while ( ̄▽ ̄;))
for aether, we met during the civil war in inazuma, as i too joined the resistance army of watatsumi island, not sharing the almighty shogun's project of revoking visions. they say it's during the hard times that you form strong bonds, and that's what happened to us: the pain of losing comrades, the battles fought side by side and the nights spent talking under the moon truly worked a magic on us, even if we got to understand the true nature of such feelings only after the war ended and we reunited in chinju forest, safe and sound and with those cursed decrees revoked for good
about wriothesley... that's kinda embarrassing, but i was arrested while on vacation in fontaine after i had a fight with a local (ーー;) not my best moment, i'll admit it. it was the duke himself that approached me, curious about my species since my ears and flaming tails surely aren't a daily occurrence in the hydro nation like in inazuma. daily talks (or battle of wits, if you want) brought us closer and we decided to keep contact even when i had to go back to my forest, and the rest is history, as they say~
as for dehya, it's thanks to lady dunyarzad that we met, as the sumerian girl and i met at the grand bazaar while shopping and quickly got acquainted, so much she even invited me to join her for lunch, giving me the possibility to meet the one that became my beloved. got immediately hooked by her kind and strong headed personality, completely smitten! i think it was easily noticeable as the merc soon hopped on teasing and flirting with me, lady dunyarzad helping and not helping at the same time by both encouraging dehya's teasing and by giving us some alone time, playing cupid for us. as of now, i still own her a favor for bringing us closer (>///<)
how i met neuvillette, much like dehya, was simple and cute, the adorable melusines helping without even knowing it! during a vacation in fontaine i was walking along a beach and met with a lovely melusine, and we kept strolling together as she talked about anything and everything: her home, her numerous sisters, and this "monsieur neuvillette", which intrigued me. finds out, the iudex was taking a stroll ahead of us, and as soon as rhemia noticed him, she quickly ran to the man and introduced us. it was the first of numerous days i spent with the iudex during my trip, letting us walk the first steps of a friendship turned relationship ^^
about zhongli, it was during my first trip to liyue that we met. since i lived almost all of my life in chinju forest, i didn't know much about other nations and their cultures, so when i asked locals about a guide everyone told me to seek "mr. zhongli" as he was the "most knowledgeable man in all of liyue", and so i did. mind you, many think his long talks and ramblings can be quite redundant and boring, but for an ignorant like me back then, hearing him talk and talk like that was one of the most beautiful experiences i ever had! as a guide he also took me to visit all around the geo nation, and the days spent together helped a lot in developing our relationship from close acquaintances to lovers
as for candace, it was during my first trip to the desert that we met, although we didn't interact much that night except for pleasantries and showing me where i was going to stay. the following day though worked as a strong bonding moment as a sandstorm hit aaru village and monsters took the opportunity to attack. against candace's orders to get to safety, i stayed outside, my instincts as a guardian kicking in. after making sure all the people where safe and sound in their homes or other shelters, i rushed to candace's side to help her fight the monsters. i do think it was because of my decision to help complete strangers that made my future lover look at me in a way i soon returned, beside the fact she became my guide and teacher about the desert and its people and customs, with which i fell in love, like a certain guardian~
for clorinde, when i was in fontaine i heard a lot about duels and champion duelists, so i was eager to assist to such things. the opportunity arrived a couple of days after, when a man didn't want to go to court for a dispute he was having with another guy, and he had to accept the duel. i was so excited to watch this, but my expectations met a rude end when the man ended up on his knees not to long after the start of the duel, begging to go to court rather than facing this electro-wielding champion woman. the episode left me unsatisfied and bitter, so much i voiced my complaints to the champion duelist... and found myself at the edge of her sword (゜゜;) i gotta say though, having to fight against a future lover like this rather than by their side surely leaves a lasting impression ^^;
about shenhe, i was hiking through the minlin region, since the locals told me huaguang stone forests and its peaks where home to the adepti and was curious to see how and where the servants of the geo archon lived and were worshipped. i reached mount aocang and found myself in front of this white haired young woman, as cold and beautiful as the snow i saw on dragonspine, and was left mesmerised to say the least. she didn't seem much affected by my presence, but when i told her why i was there, she decided to answer my questions as her master was absent at the time. i'll admit, i was the one starting the flirting, but it took us a while to reach our current relationship (—v—;)
as for how i met cyno, the desert hadn't been kind to me during my trips. more than once i met bands of eremites trying to attack me and/or rob me, and it happened one too many times for my low patience. it was at the end of the umpteenth fight that i met the general, while throwing at his feet the last eremite i beat to a pulp. that group of eremites was also the one the general was going to arrest, so i actually did him a favor which he wanted to repay by offering me a meal. from there on that trip became way more pleasant~
about yanfei, again, legal problems, but that time i was innocent! i was accused of a crime i didn't commit, but since no one knew me and i was also a foreigner i was an easy target. luckily for me my future lover was there and heard everything, soon turning the situation in my favor and proving my innocence. as a way to thank her, i insisted on offering her dinner, and we became friends. from that friendship we then developed our relationship, never minding the distance and our numerous tasks
as for ningguang, it still baffles me the way we met. at the time i didn't know she was the tianquan, so i didn't show particular curtesy but just basic manners. i was at yujing terrace, admiring the view on the harbor, when i was approached by ningguang. we started talking and shortly after i found myself walking around the city with her, people looking at us as if admiring the geo archon himself. when i found out about her identity, i was embarrassed and mortified, but she laughed it off. we became lovers much later after the start of our friendship
lastly, about alhaitham... not the friendliest, you know? it was rush hour in this café i chose to eat at for lunch, every table packed except for one occupied by a single guy with grey hair. he begrudgingly accepted to let me sit in front of him, too focused on his book to even see who was in front of him. it did piss me off so much, yet i tried to keep a calm facade for the sake of hoping to make friends in sumeru, so i could have a reason to visit again, but his quick wits and arrogance made it almost impossible. had i known he could become my lover, i would have laughed it off as impossible
... and that's it! but i guess i talked a lot, didn't i? like the fool in love i am (^^;

❤Confliss headcanons❤
So I know this isn't a super popular ship, but I personally love them a lot and I think they're cute❤ And a little while ago, @thepanicsquid and I were talking about what we thought Conrad & Fliss would do after the events of the game and it resulted in some really cute headcanons, so I thought I would share some of them!
Ok so @thepanicsquid mentioned how she thought that Conrad would stay with Fliss after they all got back home and I really liked that idea, so this is how I imagined it plays out:
After the events of the game, when everyone gets back to shore safely, they all crash at Fliss's place because it's the closest to where they docked. They recuperate and are finally able to receive the medical attention they need- especially Conrad, who is finally taken to the hospital to have his leg treated (if he was shot).
When they are all finally able to leave and go back to their respective homes, Conrad decides to stay with Fliss, saying that he wants to help with the repairs to her boat because he knows that he's partially responsible for the damages. Fliss first tries to object, stating that she can take care of her own boat, but Conrad claims that he still needs to heal anyway (because he was the most beaten-up), so she allows him to stay and help.
While working on her boat, the 2 of them bond a lot and become much closer. Conrad constantly urges Fliss to take breaks because he doesn't want her to over-work herself, so he'll occasionally pull her away and take her on a nice walk along the beach or on a scenic hiking trail. At first, Fliss tried to object to these breaks because she's always been a perfectionist who wants to finish the job she's working on, but she ultimately comes to appreciate the walks and the opportunities they give her to clear her mind. She also finds herself somewhat flustered by the attention that Conrad pays to her well-being because nobody's ever really taken care of her like that before.
After they finish the repairs to her boat, Conrad returns home to see his family, especially his parents who still haven't seen him since the trip. While he and Fliss are apart, they both find themselves missing each other more than they thought they would, so they end up FaceTiming each other and talking on the phone frequently. Julia will occasionally pop into frame to say hi and the 2 girls will catch up while Conrad impatiently waits to speak to Fliss again.
One day, the whole gang decides to surprise Fliss by visiting her (it was Conrad's idea of course, but the others were also excited to see her again). They share a big reunion hug & Conrad reveals that he's rented a vacation home near her so he can travel back and forth. This flusters Fliss because she's not used to spoiled rich kids using their money for her, but Conrad jokes that he's still spoiled because it also allows him to see her.
@thepanicsquid and I both like to think they start out as a kind of "friends with benefits" situationship because neither of them want to rush into anything. They claim that they're just messing around and having fun; but even though they're not official, they spend a lot of time together and they both feel weird whenever someone else flirts with them.
Julia always inquires Conrad about it, asking if he's ever going to make a real move, to which he claims that he's just not in a place for a real relationship. Secretly, he's hesitant to make it official because he's worried he'll mess it up somehow & he doesn't want to ruin what they currently have.
Eventually, the 2 of them come to their senses and decide to make it official!
They are such an adventurous & outdoorsy couple. They continue to go on their nature hikes, and they even take to other outdoor activities like rock climbing & water skiing. At one point, Fliss even convinces Conrad to try skydiving with her (I also have a headcanon that he's been afraid of heights ever since his encounter with the glamor girl where he could've plummeted to his death)
Fliss's friends like to tease her for ending up with a rich boy since she always talked about how she hated rich people.
Conrad literally showers Fliss in little presents. Flowers, chocolates, her favorite kind of tea, you name it.
At Alex & Julia's wedding, Conrad asks Fliss to dance with him; and when she says she's not much of a dancer, he reassures her that he isn't either. They both surprise each other with how well they do & they quickly find their rhythm.
Conrad loves helping Fliss with her boat responsibilities; from maintaining the ship to entertaining her clients, he essentially becomes her business partner.
They adopt a little black Labrador and name him Duke, after Fliss's ship! He becomes the boat's mascot❤ Conrad jokes that now they have to get another dog and name it Milan so they can have two mascots. Fliss says one is enough... until they adopt a female white Labrador and name her Milan❤
I could probably think of more, but this post is already getting kinda long haha, so I'll leave it there! Thank you for reading!🥰

does anyone in the philip family have any silly collections? of ANY kind!
oh Giselle.... Giselle is the family collector.
a big one is rocks, she's a rock girlie. if she finds a pretty one, she will pick it up. I remember coming up with a small fic where Robert came home from work, and accidentally knocked a rock off the counter with his briefcase and was very ??? and when Giselle explained that "oh! I found him outside, isn't he beautiful !! I think he'll look lovely on this shelf, don't you agree?" Robert was like, "it would be prettier outside... where it came from..." and Giselle just waves her hand, and he has to just accept it. but it's early in their relationship, so he's still getting used to Everything™️ ya know?
but then, a follow up to that situation, like a month later he's at a really fancy restaurant that has these smooth rocks on the table, and he's like, "oh... wait, Giselle would love that one" and he sneaks it into his pocket, and is sooooo excited to give it to her. and then she, of course, loves it, and he's like "damn... this is my life now, huh *fond smile because he's so in l o v e*"
anyway !! yeah, she loves rocks. and any time the family spots one they think she'll love, they pick it up. Sofia is a bit of a problem, though, because she forgets they're in her pocket, and they end up thumping around in the washing machine.
it's also not uncommon to find the bathroom (or kitchen) sink full of rocks because she sometimes forgets she was cleaning them.
another thing is magnets and postcards. I think they travel somewhere at least twice a year, once as a couple, and once as a family, and Giselle always wants to get a magnet and postcard from that place. for the postcards, I think she writes a little almost diary entry on the back of each one, detailing the events of the vacation, and how much fun it was, and then sticks them in a little book :3
seashells, sea glass, and sand dollars would be something she'd love too. and I think her and her daughters go searching for 'em every time they go to the beach.
another thing I think she'd love is vintage Valentine's Day cards. especially ones like this with animals on them (x) (x) (x) Some she might actually give to Robert and their girls, but usually she'll just keep them in a little binder because they're very cute!!
I can see her collecting little animal figurines like these too (x) (x) !
and mugs, of course, you know she's a mug girlie. Robert wants to say "honey, we don't have any room in the cabinet for more" but he knows Giselle's response will be "yes we do, silly, you just have to stack them right" so he simply keeps quiet.
and last, it's not really a ~collection~ but I do think she has like a million pairs of fun, silly socks !! and she gets Robert to wear some, too! she also tries to get him to wear fun, silly ties, and he will, sometimes, but usually he has to say no because they don't always fit the vibe of the office.
and another thing that I don't think really counts as a collection is all her earrings. I think she has several earrings, some she makes herself, some she buys, and they're all very fun, and pretty !! in particular I think she loves ones that are shaped like animals, fruit, and flowers 🥰
oh, and !! I think she presses flowers, too!! so that's a common thing to find on display in the house, or in her books/journals.
anywho !! Giselle is definitely the family collector. she just loves putting a fun little thing on display, and who can blame her, really !!

Klapollo Fic Reclist
I should really do these more often.
In advance of the Klapollo Minibang dropping a bunch of reading material for Klapollo fans (which I'm participating in!), I've decided to compile a reclist. All of these fics are SFW, hosted on AO3, and complete. I've done my best to source the authors' Tumblrs, if they have one.
A lot of my bookmarks with Klapollo are all really popular fics, so I decided to go through the tag picking for some less popular fics. The results are a mix of fics you've probably heard of and/or read, and some you probably haven't.
Without further ado, let's get into it.
Perception by @queenitsy | T | 3.6k
Author's Summary: Everyone has a public persona, a way they'd like the world to see them. Apollo's perception lets him see through it all to the truths people try to keep hidden.
My Notes: This fic is more about how Apollo sees the world around him, and the people in it. Includes the things they lie about -- and the things they don't. It's a fascinating lens for a fic.
Things Are As They Are by @hechiima | T | 34.5k
Author's Summary: Klapollo cabin fic. That's really all this is.
Based on the events of "You Ever Been In Love?", in which Edgeworth gets drunk and rents a romantic cabin for Klavier and Apollo in Joshua Tree. Things go about as well as one could expect.
My Notes: You can, imo, read this without having read the Narumitsu-centric prequel (but you should read that anyways!). This fic can stand alone. I love the general laid-back atmosphere in this work -- even at its most tense, they're still on vacation. Almost all the stakes are emotional.
Turnabout Electric by HopeStoryteller | T | 87.9k
Author's Summary: You know, Apollo had high hopes for 2028. He and Klavier were actually kind of friends now, there were no impending disasters for once, and things were looking up. And then, literally on the first day of the new year... this happens.
Some cosmic force somewhere has got to be laughing at him. Some cosmic force somewhere definitely has it out for him, that's for sure. But the joke's on them, whoever they are, because his name is Apollo Justice, he's fine, and he is not losing anyone else... even if Klavier has already confessed to the murder Apollo can't believe he committed. And why does Mr. Wright keep muttering about this entire scenario being so familiar?
Or, Turnabout Goodbyes 2: Klapollo Boogaloo.
My Notes: I really enjoy the look into Gavin Law Offices pre-Turnabout Trump. All the OCs slot into the Ace Attorney universe well, and the way the author formats the cross-examinations is truly excellent.
(they long to be) close to you by @bevioletskies | T | 23.1k
Author's Summary: All Apollo wanted to do during his last summer before starting law school was relax, play video games, and flirt with the boy next door. He never expected to become a small-time Internet celebrity after his mother's YouTube channel for her animal therapy foundation turned into a cat rescue livestream. Things only get more complicated when everyone in the chat is interested in the cute guy who keeps coming around with his guitar and his dog.
My Notes: A sweet slice-of-life-y AU. The cats are all adorable for a bunch of plot devices.
just finally say you love me by ahmackalak | T | 20.4k
Author's Summary: “Backpacking through Europe?”
“Ja! I’ve wanted to go for ages – it’s been so long since I’ve been back home, I figure I might as well make it a whole journey.” Klavier’s smile is as easy and agreeable as always, but Apollo isn’t buying it.
Barcelona, Paris, Geneva, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen.
A trip to Europe with Klavier Gavin...this’ll be fine, right?
My Notes: Written for last year's Klapollo Minibang. Heartfelt. The travel feels very well-grounded in reality.
Words Come Fluently by @queenitsy | T | 50.8k
Author's Summary: Klavier Gavin is the most famous rockstar in the world. Guilty Love is about to go platinum and the tour sold out fourteen stadiums. So there's really, really no reason why one anonymous music critic on Youtube who hates him should get under his skin. And yet somehow he'd do just about anything to convince MikekoMusic to like him.
Apollo has been doing Youtube as a fun side hustle while he tries to break into the talent management industry, and he's just landed an assistant gig working for Kristoph Gavin. Whose main client is his golden boy younger brother. Whose music Apollo has been anonymously trashing for years.
Yeah, this is all going to go fine.
(No lawyers, no murders, just shenanigans. And Clay Terran lives.)
My Notes: I liked this fic so much I drew fanart for it. Identity shenanigans, and a fun Kristoph-Phoenix-Apollo dynamic.
fame vs infamy (the price of writing fanfic out of spite) by @letapollojusticesayfuck | T | 12.1k
Author's Summary: In which Apollo Justice becomes the most popular fic-writer in the Gavinners fandom.
(and, along the way, realizes his Big Gay Crush on Klavier Gavin might not be as hopeless as he thought)
My Notes: I always love a fic with CSS. In-universe RPF can sometimes hit a little too close to home for me, as someone who used to be involved in RPF-dom but got out of it. This fic treats the subject seriously, but still has fun with it, which I like.
despite everything, it’s still you by griffinhawk | G | 8.7k
Author’s Summary: “He’s probably not home, Trucy.” There was his voice, clipped at the edges, yet unease sparking around the edges like his guitar only a few weeks ago.
The same one that pointed, the one that objected, the only voice that had kept him steady throughout the courtroom today. The one that Klavier had learnt onto. The one that would spin Klavier onto the truth, whether he would want it to or not.
The one Klavier had trusted in that moment. The moment where he realized that - like his best friend Daryan - Kristoph had also been a murderer.
One who had manipulated others for their own self control. The one who desired the control so deeply. Having all the puppet strings cut loose after seven years of lies and deceit in three days time.
(or, Klavier, despite all the truths that were unshed during the Misham Tiral - has a few more truths to unlock - with himself and a certain defense attroney.)
My Notes: Klavier recovery fic, spurred by Apollo. Trucy and Apollo’s siblinghood is great, and I love the general softness of this work.
Apollo Justice, Magic Rabbit by EmpireofSocks | T | 9.5k
My Notes: I never realized “Turning Catworth” had a sequel until I read this lmao. Animal transformation is a funny trope, and I love this fic’s expansion of the Gramarye lore. They are literally magic!
Author’s Summary: Trucy accidentally turns Apollo into a rabbit. Chaos ensues.
lose your reputation by @littlethief | T | 8k
Author’s Summary: “Klavier never bothers to clean his office, and last week was no exception. Though everything had changed, the room would look exactly the same as he’d left it; blueprints of Sunshine Coliseum open on his monitor, the charred remains of his favorite acoustic guitar on the desk, and an open file folder, page turned to Daryan’s police department ID photo.”
in which klavier gavin releases his first solo album
My Notes: I love this look into Klavier’s second job -- the musicians he collaborates with, the people managing his career as an artist. Both the law and the music are integral parts of Klavier, and this fic negotiates the balance.
sleep is getting hard to get by @baratrongirl | T | 6.8k
Author’s Summary: The first of four stories about Klavier and Apollo's relationship with each other and with sleep.
December 2026. Klavier has had a difficult Christmas with his family. He invites himself round to Apollo's apartment for dinner and drinks because he's desperately lonely. He ends up staying over, and has nightmares. Apollo has to comfort him in the night.
Also features Apollo's cat, Mikeko, as a major character.
My Notes: Some nice hurt/comfort. Glasses!Klavier is a nice headcanon that I enjoy.
can i go where you go by parchmints | T | 40.5k
Author’s Summary: Apollo Justice has rotten luck: he actually wins the grand prize for a mail-in contest, but It's a couple's getaway to a fancy ski lodge in the mountains and Apollo is aggressively single. With no one to go with, Apollo offers them to Klavier since surely, a rockstar would be able to find a date before then, but Klavier has a better idea—they go together and pretend they're a couple. That way, they both get a vacation, plus free food and wine.
And well, Apollo's never been one to pass up free food.
My Notes: A very good fake dating fic. I loved every bit of this.
Signed, St. Nostalgia by Synthpop | T | 26.5k
Author’s Summary: The Wright Anything Agency has earned itself an award for outstanding achievement, courtesy of one of the most renowned criminal attorney conferences in the country. Apollo has been tasked with accepting the award on everyone's behalf—problem is, the conference is in Chicago, and he doesn't have any means of getting there. Luckily for him, though, a certain prosecutor is more than happy to give him a ride.
My Notes: Roadtrip fics are always fun, and this is no exception. Written for last year’s Klapollo Minibang.
undeniable you (the currents pulling me onward) by @letapollojusticesayfuck | T | 59.1k
Author’s Summary: Kristoph Gavin is found dead in his prison cell, and Klavier Gavin is the prime suspect.
With nobody else available to defend him, Apollo Justice flies in from Khura'in to take the case--but during the course of the trial and its aftermath, long-hidden secrets come to light.
My Notes: Love the development of Kristoph's world and his complex relationship with Klavier.
it’s all that i am, and it’s all that i have by @x-eternalmagic | T | 58.4k
Author’s Summary: Apollo sucks in a breath, attempting to steel his nerves. Should he honestly send this...? He doesn't even know who this man is. This is a huge, huge mistake. But, even so, he hits send before he can remind himself of how awful an idea this is.
Dear You,
I think I love you. Just wanted you to know.
From,
Me
Klavier's phone pings with an email notification, and the moment he reads it, the smile fades from his face. God, this was so much easier when he didn't know that the sender hated him in real life.
[ or, the you've got mail au. ]
My Notes: I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and while I’m unfamiliar with You’ve Got Mail, this fic is impeccable. I love the lowered-stakes of the music store business.
Hot for Justice by indirectkissesiniceland | T | 43.4k
Author’s Summary: After the events of State v. Misham, Klavier finds himself in a slump, stressed at the prosecutor's office and unable to pen new songs. To his surprise, he finds creative inspiration—and unexpected feelings—spending time with Apollo. Now if only he could release the new tracks without raising any suspicion as to whom his love songs are for.
My Notes: A humorous and light-hearted fic. Love Klavier finding inspiration in his pining for Apollo. Some parts of this might trigger second-hand embarrassment for those that easily get that.
the streak of green in sunset skies by @crowned-ladybug | T | 18.6k
Author’s Summary: “I guess I needed a moment when I was just...Klavier,” he laughs at the absurdity of it, but saying it out loud hurts more than he'd expected. It’s been so long since he'd existed without doing it for other people that he's not sure where the expectations end and he begins anymore. He's not sure there's even a him left under everything.
Mia nods, and when Klavier looks over she’s smiling, and he doesn't understand how. “Klavier, who pretends really badly to know nothing about coffee so that Diego will get to talk his ear off about it.”
---
For seven years, Klavier searches for answers. Along the way, he finds a family.
My Notes: A canon divergence AU featuring found family as the primary theme. Love the slow reconciliation and bridge-building between Klavier and the others.
amor meus, pondus meum by vnjc | T | 3.2k
Author’s Summary: It’s not like their separation agreement had a ‘The parties agree to never sleep together again’ clause, but as far as Apollo knows, the point of separation is, well, separation. Not this. At least that’s what he remembers from law school.
On reconciliation, loss, and awkward conversations. Not in that order.
My Notes: Love the usage of history here and the general structure & vibe of this fic.
if it’s really me you seek by @hychlorions | T | 83.3k
Author’s Summary: “Anyway,” Ema keeps going, fully ignoring his sarcasm in favor of staring at a neat corner where the walls meet the ceiling. “I asked if he wanted to go to your party together, but he said he wasn’t going.”
“What?” Apollo suddenly finds it very hard to breathe. “Why?”
“Hell if I know,” Ema says nonchalantly, but then she turns to him with a smirk. “See if you can figure it out: I believe he told me, and I quote—ahem—'Ach, I would, Fräulein, but I believe Herr Justice would be more comfortable without me there.’”
Or, when Apollo comes home from Khura'in only to learn that Prosecutor Gavin is avoiding him, the last thing he expected was for Gavin to offer to let Apollo stay at his house while he looks for a new apartment.
My Notes: It’s been a while since I last read this fic, but I love the progression of the relationship in this fic.
This list is not a comprehensive list of every single Klapollo fic I think people should read. You can check out my AO3 Bookmarks for more recs, if you so wish.

WTNV quick rundown - 79 - Lost in the Mail
This episode was co-written by Zack Parsons.
Featuring the guest voice of Aliee Chan as Basimah Bashara.
We brought something back with us. Something we cannot escape. Memories of a great vacation to deepest space! And the merciless Distant Prince. Welcome to Night Vale.
This episode is about the Remembrance Day for those who will, a thousand years from now, presumably die in the Blood Space War. The fight is said to be against some kind of dangerous idea. Time between those recruited and those in NV is vastly different due to how time travels across space, or something.
People are invited to tell stories on air about their experiences/memories. Citizens called Black Dauphin and Sara Bismuth are briefly mentioned, but we get to hear the full story of Basimah Bashara.
Basimah is a junior in high school. Her father, Fakhir Bashara, was recruited to the Blood Space War when she was six. She hasn't grown wings like the cheerleaders, but she fits in. She's in an all-girl thrash band called Mizz Fits where she plays guitar. She's good at English and Science but not Maths because she stopped paying attention. She's a lesbian and has a girlfriend. She's wears her hijab to mosque but rarely to school. She had a pet snail. She has a large family so she still feels loved even without her dad but does miss him.
She receives a message from her dad once a year around her birthday. To him it's like only a eleven days or so have passed whilst for her it's been most of her life. Basimah laments that she can't properly communicate with her dad, because he still thinks she's a kid. He talks about her and her various milestones of her life which have already happened as if they're going to happen in the future. This makes it feel like he's talking about somebody completely different and not her.
Basimah talks about the families of the other Mizz Fit members. Clara is in a nuclear family straight from the 1950s, but, like, literally from the 1950s even as she lives her life in 2015. Nisha has a council of fathers. Jacquelyn's mom is a spider.
Towards the end of the episode, Basimah says she wishes her dad had never left. It ends with her calling out happy and tearful for her dad, hinting that he has come back/is visiting.
Weather: "Sharon" by Good San Juan
Earlier in the episode, it is mentioned that an emissary from the blood space war which is the only being to return from it and was imprisoned in a pit has been released. It's helmet contains a void and it talks about the war being meaningless and how it needs to end but only by whistling. This is hinted to be the same person who goes to see Basimah later, so is Fakhir returned from the war. Or she is interpreting it as her father. Who knows.
The emissary also tries to tell Cecil about the pointlessness of the war and the nature of unreality. During this exchange, Cecil says he has seven senses.
Cecil says at the end of the episode that the tapes from Basimah are three days old, whilst the emissary was only released on that day, so he has no idea how the emissary was both there and here. He also says that rememberance day is over at 12:01, am or pm unsure.
Stay tuned next for events that will or will not happen, in the order that they may or may not occur. And from the present as I am currently experiencing it, good night, Night Vale. Good night.

More Airport Deductions!
So this weekend i had to travel again, airports and planes are always fun, they're filled to the brim with people from all nationalities with all kinds of interesting things to observe on them. I thought i'd share my deductions as i did last time i traveled, so here you have them:
While waiting for the plane a man was sitting next to me, he was in his late 20s - early 30s, his baggage wasn't just small but it was empty enough for the top of it to be concave, so he's on some sort of a short trip, short enough to not even need to fill his bag. He had shaved that morning (or at some point during that day), his clothes were recently laundered and this was their first use (you can tell from the folding marks, they fade away the more someone uses a piece of clothing), and his nails were recently trimmed, he was dressed to make some semblance of an impression, but he was getting on a plane, so chances are he was on his way to see someone special, a partner most likely, it's also likely his flight was gonna be a short one, i wouldn't say longer than 2-3 hours at most, and if he was going to see someone special chances are he was on his way home coming from a trip rather than the other way around
So full deductions in list form would be:
Right handed
Late 20s - early 30s
He's on a short trip, not more than a 2-3 hour flight from home
He's meeting his partner on arrival
After a couple of minutes of observation he got up and headed to his gate, which i got a glimpse of, it turns out i was right about the trip being short, he was taking an hour long flight
The second deduction happened on the plane on Sunday night, a woman walked past my seat while boarding so i had to keep my observations brief without forgetting the context of the observations (this context being the fact that we were on a plane going from a not very touristic area this time of year, to a much more touristic area of my country). The thought process was the following: I noticed her pants had prominent fold marks on them, so they were newly worn, but the rest of the clothes had been worn for a couple of days, the color of the clothes was still very well combined though. She had an engagement ring on, and given her body language towards the man in front of her he was her fiancee, the ring was on the cheaper end, thin, and subtle, more focused on elegancy than flashiness. She was holding her phone on her right hand, an iphone 12 or above with no case or protective cover on the screen. Her nails were painted a shade of dark, unsaturated purple, but the paint on the nails on the right hand was chipped. Clearly she had a very good economical stability, and wasn't prone to anxiety or worrying about future problems, and can have trouble when planning ahead for them, chances are she comes from a mid-upper class family, and has a good income at the moment
So in total the deductions about her (that i feel confident about) are:
Engaged and travelling with her partner
Likes practicality, probably works in a more analytical field, maybe something tangential to medicine considering her income
Puts effort into her looks and likes to show off when she can
Isn't prone to anxiety
Trouble planning to prevent future problems
Comes from a mid-upper class family
Has a good income
A few deductions about this woman i feel slightly less confident about:
She's returning home after a weekend long vacation visiting either her or her fiancee's family
If anyone wants to take a guess at how i arrived at that last deduction be my guest! For now i think this more casual post has become a bit too lengthy, so i'll leave it here. Stay tuned for more educational oriented content!
Happy Observing
