isaac needs help in chemistry and you need help in english - the beginning
this is for isaac anon and the few people that wanted this. i’m just dabbling here, so let me know if you guys want more! (i did quite a bit of Research for this and i have ideas)
also let me know, i left it vague, but if i expand i’m probably going to add in scott, stiles, allison, and lydia. would you guys like to keep it supernatural or do full au where they’re just normal college students?
You noticed the boy in your Intro to Academic Writing course, but you didn’t really focus on him, mostly due to freshman year stress, until he sat down next to you in General Chemistry. Stepping into the classroom you’d felt at ease, science was your jam, but the really cute boy put you back on edge. You felt hyperaware of him, his scent, kind of cinnamon-y, fall-esque.
He tapped his fingers on his notebook, and you couldn’t help but notice he wrote in green pen. You glanced every so often to see him doodling in the corner of the page instead of taking notes on the intro lesson on the scientific method that your professor was doing.
The boy rested his chin on his hand and his fingers went from tapping on the notebook to his jaw and you shook your head, trying to focus back on the professor who was talking about your lab groups.
“The people at your table are in your group. Lab is on Wednesday nights, I won’t be the instructor, you’ll have a TA, but you can email me or come to my office hours if you have any questions about what’s going on. I’ll see you all on Thursday.”
You started to pack your stuff and the boy turned to you with a crooked grin, “I’m Isaac.”
Shaking his hand, you introduced yourself and he stood, waiting for you to finish packing your stuff. You zipped your booksack, “You’re in my English class, right?” you asked, faking as if you didn’t notice him as soon as you stepped into the door.
He nodded, “Yeah, with Dr. Terranova.”
“He seems,” you trailed off, looking for the right word, “interesting.”
Isaac grinned, “You mean overwhelmingly picky for an English 101 professor?”
“That’s a great way to put it,” you told him, laughing.
The two of you walked out the door and down the hall together. Isaac shifted his booksack on his shoulders a little and asked, “Do you have any more classes today?”
“Calculus,” you told him and he grimaced.
“Fuck that.”
“You?”
He nodded, “Spanish.”
Unfortunately for you, the buildings were on opposite ends of campus, so you paused just outside the door to the chemistry building. Isaac paused too and smiled, “See you tomorrow night?”
“See you tomorrow, Isaac.”
-
Your lab group was made up of two boys and two girls. Isaac, Andrew, Abigail, and you. Out of the group, you were the only STEM major, and the only one who actually liked chemistry. Isaac patted your shoulder, “Well, that officially makes you team captain then.”
“Thank god,” Abigail added, “I’m an advertising major, my brain noped out of the sciences years ago.”
The other guy, Andrew, said, “I took Chem 2 in high school and didn’t pass the AP exam, chemistry and I have beef.”
You snorted and said, “Cool, well, I’ll try and lead us to the promised land.” They seemed to like that.
-
Your group was really smart, everyone was picking up the labs really easily and you were thrilled, especially when the teacher stood in front of the class after the first test review. She clapped her hands once, “Okay, the lab group with the highest combined test average gets five bonus points added to their test scores. This is me trying to get you guys familiar with study groups, especially if you’re going to be in STEM, which I know some of you are. Study groups got me through school.”
Unfortunately, everyone in your lab group already had stuff going on, so you couldn’t study with them. Fortunately, the test was on intro stuff like the scientific method, conversions, and balancing equations, and your group hadn’t had any issues in any of the lab work, so you weren’t worried.
But when you got the test back, you realized, maybe you should’ve been. Isaac got his handed back first and actually laughed when he looked at the grade. Before you could ask, the professor set yours down on the desk and you started flipping through it, frowning at the little points you’d had taken off for careless mistakes.
“Fuck,” you muttered, “should’ve gotten at least a 97.”
“Wow, can’t believe you fucked it up for the whole group,” Isaac sarcastically responded, nudging you with his elbow, before sliding his test on top of yours. He nudged you again, “As you can see, I’m carrying the team,” and he motioned toward the D written in bright red at the top of his paper.
Your mouth dropped open and you picked the test up, flipping through to see what he’d missed. Eyebrows furrowed, you looked over at him, “You should tell her you accidentally skipped the back page.”
“Oh, it wasn’t an accident, I just didn’t know how to do it.”
“Well,” you stuttered, “it was the same stuff we did in the last lab activity.”
Isaac nodded, “Yes it is, and I didn’t understand it then either.”
“I thought,” you paused, mind racing, “I thought we all did?”
He grinned at you, “Some of us aren’t science brains, my friend.”
“What are you?” you asked as the class started to pack up.
With a soft smile, he threw his booksack over his shoulder, “I’m a literature major.”
-
You didn’t mean to think about it as much as you did, but when 2 a.m. rolled around and you were at your most impulsive you couldn’t stop yourself from sending out a text.
Hey, do you maybe want to meet up and study sometime?
After hitting send you could’ve slammed your head into a wall. You locked your phone and put your head in your hands, “God damnit.” And then your phone dinged.
I’d love that, love to have a STEM genius in my corner.
Your cheeks heated as you read it and your mind raced with your heart. It was beating harder and part of you couldn’t even believe he’d said yes. Taking a breath to steady yourself, you responded.
Idk about genius but I’m not half bad at chem
He responded, even faster than the first time and you grinned, unable to stop it from overtaking your face.
I may not know much about the scientific method or whatever, but all evidence suggests otherwise, genius
-
The next test wasn’t for a few weeks, but Isaac wanted to start studying earlier. He suggested meeting at a coffee shop called The Beanery. Coffee shops weren’t really your jam, you liked the silence of the fourth floor of the library. Go early, get a table, put in head phones, and go to work. But, you were open to try Isaac’s suggestion.
It was brightly lit when you walked in, and he was already there, at a table in the corner, laptop out. Books were spread across the tabletop, and he already had two empty mugs on the table in front of him, leg bouncing as he aimlessly chewed on a pen.
Shaking yourself out of staring, you walked to the counter to order. Isaac smiled up at you when you made it to the table with your coffee.
“Welcome,” he told you, moving some of his books out of the way. Sitting up straighter, Isaac glanced around, “What do you think about this place?”
“It’s nice, definitely a change of pace from my norm.”
“Where’s that then?”
“Library, fourth floor.”
“Quiet up there, huh?”
“Yeah, but I listen to some music for background.”
“I like coffee shops,” Isaac said, closing his laptop, “the vibes are nice and my clothes always smell like coffee afterward which is a fun bonus.”
At his comment, you looked down at his clothes. You were a little surprised to see that he was dressed just like during the week: jeans, a nicer t-shirt, and a cardigan. You’d wondered, deep down, if he dressed nicer for class, but it didn’t seem the case. Isaac cleared his throat and your eyes snapped to his face, ears burning when you saw him staring at you in amusement.
Coughing quietly, you reached for your booksack, “So, chemistry. Do you understand what we’ve been going over?”
“I know they’re called Bohr models but I don’t know anything else about them.”
“Right, so,” you paused a minute, trying to figure out where to start, “it’s a way to draw an atom and it’s kind of like a planet.”
Isaac leaned forward through your explanation, resting most of his weight on his elbows, and tapped the green pen against his lower lip. Every so often he’d ask a question, shift a little and write something down in his notebook by whatever he’d scribbled in class. His questions were shockingly insightful, and you eagerly answered them all.
By the time you’d gotten through the basics of thermodynamics, he’d added a whole page of notes, and you could tell he was starting to lose interest. Shutting your notebook, you told him, earnestly, “I hope this helped a little.”
“I promise,” he looked you straight in the eye, “it makes sense. This all looked like a foreign language before we met up.”
“Good,” you nodded, “this is my jam.”
“Keep on spreading it,” he joked and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“Well,” you admitted, “you may not be good at chem but you’d kick my ass into next week in English.”
“How’s your paper going?” Isaac asked, leaning back and crossing his arms, looking genuinely interested.
“It’s…going.”
He snorted, “That doesn’t sound promising.”
“Yeah neither does my thesis.”
“Do you have your laptop?”
“Yeah.”
“Let me have a look,” he suggested.
Pulling up the word doc, you passed your laptop over, staring down at your hands, twiddling your thumbs, a little nervously, as he read through your rough draft.
“What did Dr. Terranova have to say in your conference?” he asked, pushing your laptop away.
You sighed, “He was less than complimentary.”
Isaac laughed, “It’s not that bad, but it could use some polishing. I can help of course.”
Relief washed over you and you felt a weight off your shoulders, “That would be incredible actually.”
“There, now we’re even. You tutor me in chemistry and I’ll make sure you pass English, starting with this rough, and emphasis on rough, draft.”
Reaching across the table, you shoved at his hand, “Be gentle.”
“I’m going to get another chai,” he said, standing to stretch a bit, “and you pick out what sentence exactly you think is your thesis. We’ll start there.”
Biting your lip to conceal a grin, you nodded, waking your laptop back up.

Tomorrow, the 13th of January, is the five year anniversary of the day I tried to commit suicide. Ironically, it’s also the day I’m going to reach 18 months sober of self harm for the first time.
These are both, to me, phenomenally ginormous achievements, and I have no one to share them with irl. So I figured I’d share it with the internet simply for the sake of giving good news to someone’s timeline.
Five years ago I genuinely felt as thought if I had to wake up one more morning and keep living the way my life was going that I was going to snap. I felt like a pressure cooker that had been left on overnight.
I woke up that morning, not necessarily a unique morning actually, it was identical to every other morning, but for some reason I was woken by my mother and there was one set thought in my mind.
I can’t do this anymore.
It was another few hours before anything happened. (I was fine, didn’t even need to go to the hospital, the school nurse handled it and my mom drove me home.)
My mother, the nurse, and my counselor grilled me in the office for an hour. Asking invasive questions, nitpicking my behaviors, pointing out jewelry choices and judging every move I made.
On the way home my mother barely spoke to me. I begged her to say something but she had nothing. Lager I heard her screaming on the phone with my father.
I spent the weekend with him, and he was unusually gentle with me. My father is quite a hard man, very rough and sometimes violent. But for this weekend he was kind and kept asking me all kinds of questions and listening to me when I said I didn’t want to answer them, unlike everyone else.
The school gave my parents an ultimatum. I wasn’t allowed back on campus until I spoke to a therapist. I was taken to my pediatrician first, and I was honest with him.
It took weeks but we found a therapist and I started seeing her weekly.
Around this time, (the week before this incident actually) I had begun self harming. It was gradually becoming more and more harmful and constant and addictive.
I began to isolate myself both at school and at home. I stopped attending family movie night, instead hiding in my room as soon as I got home, and at school I would slump in the back of class with my head down doodling on notebooks and absently scratching my arms.
I had a group of friends who knew absolutely none of this. I only saw them at lunch time, never after school aside from the rare birthday party or mall trip. I’m not much of a social outing person.
Even when I was with them I would sit quietly and let them do all the talking. They didn’t seem to notice.
I tried to quit self harm dozens of times. Normally I’d make it 80 days or so, then I’d fall off the “wagon” and start up again, feeling disgusted with myself. One time I made it 250 days. It was one of the greatest days of my life.
School got worse instead of better. In eleventh grade I began to have full on breakdowns on the way to school every single morning. My mother had no choice but to send me, despite me begging her not to. I would sob the whole way to class, sometimes even panic attacks.
One day, I found myself late to first period, (of no fault of my own) and instead of showing up late, I simply slumped down the wall outside the classroom and broke down crying.
An administrator was nearby handing out late passes and happened to notice me. He asked if I intended to go to class, and I was honest and said no. So he told me he’d rather I ditch in the safety of his office than out in the cold where others might bother me.
This man is genuinely one of the most impactful people I’ve ever known.
I followed him back to his office and he sat me down, offering me a tissue and asking me why I didn’t want to go to class. I immediately found myself opening up to him. He gave me a lot of inspirational mumbo jumbo and told me I could stay in his office until I felt ready to leave.
Day after day I found myself having meltdowns and heading straight for his office. It became the only safe place for me on campus. He welcomed me with a smile and sometimes a snack or two, gave me tasks so I wouldn’t be slacking, and let me care for his goldfish.
We had many wonderful talks, I made friends with campus security, who used his office as their lunch room, and I took probably a dozen naps in there. It got to the point where my parents would drop me off and I wouldn’t even think about class, I would just walk straight to his office.
I must’ve missed months of classes. No other administration ever harassed me, but I’m sure they knew of the situation seeing as my teachers must’ve noticed when I went missing for three months. My own parents never found out. The school never called them, and I wasn’t going to tell them.
I eventually came up with the idea of taking a test to get my GED, because at this point I was never going to graduate. My administrator friend talked with me quite a bit about this plan, but eventually backed me.
My counselor canceled my fifth and sixth periods to give me as much of a break as she could, and she tried to convince me to stay. But I was so beyond done.
I was back there. I was a pressure cooker again. I couldn’t breathe most days, it was like my entire body weighed as much as a pickup truck. I was so fucking exhausted.
I know for 100% certain that if they hadn’t let me take that test and graduate early I would’ve killed myself.
I was sat down in a very pinkly decorated room with the school therapist and my highly tense divorced parents to discuss my future in education.
I ended up breaking down and just begging and trying to make the situation clear without outright threatening suicide but honestly that’s what it had come to. My mother took one look at me and understood, and she swayed my dad. And that was it.
I aced the test first try, and I was done. I was free of my first hell.
Now all I had to do was escape my father. Like I said, my father is a hard man. Barely two months after graduating I moved out of his house and started living with my mother full time. My sisters soon followed.
Two years later we moved to a different state, leaving my father behind in our home town. (Although he still calls me three times a day and sends care packages every two weeks despite us asking him to stop.)
I continued to try and quit self harm, but kept failing.
On March 11th, 2020 I was in the Emergency Room for suicidal ideation. I don’t count it as an attempt because I didn’t take anything or harm myself but I was going to.
I called 911 on myself out of fear and a police officer drove me to the hospital. I was kept in a room with a very pretty mural on the wall, and eventually and very annoying woman came and spoke to me. I gave her the skinny on how awful my life is and she told me I either tell my mom my secrets or she’ll forcefully section me.
This was a double trigger for me. Being forced to reveal personal information is very triggering for me because I’m an extremely private person. I don’t tell anyone anything unless I have to or want to. Especially deeply personal secrets.
And being forcefully sectioned was possibly the worst thing she could’ve said. I have an intense fear of being locked up, ordered around, imprisoned, behind locked doors, or anything alike. It stems from childhood trauma and it’s very intense.
So I told my mom my shit, somehow getting away with not telling her about the self harm, and I was discharged home.
This changed nothing about my life or my relationship with my mother.
On June 13th, 2020 I self harmed for the last time. Not sure what made it stick this time. I just sort of decided that I was done with it.
On December 9th, 2020 I was in the ER again for the same reason. My mother drove me this time but didn’t stay. This was one of the worst nights of my life. And I don’t say that lightly.
I was put in a normal room but every single thing was taken from the room, machines, tools, even chairs. I was ordered to change out of my clothes and into these paper shirt and shorts and the classic “grippy socks”. My necklace which means everything to me was taken, my bracelets, my rings, my anklet, my backpack, my phone, my stuffed bunny for fucks sake.
A very blunt and emotionless man came and asked me questions about my life and my childhood and why I was feeling this way. And then he left and they placed a different man outside the glass window wall to simply watch me. He just sat there and stared at me.
I began to have a panic attack. Worst one I’ve ver had. I was hyperventilating to the point that my vision began to fade away and I was choking. What did the doctors do about me suffocating? Nothing. This man continued to stare at me.
I waved him into the room and begged, yes, I had to beg, for my stuffed bunny back. And he gave me a very judge mental glare as if I was annoying him, before returning with my bunny, who I keep in my bag at all times in case of panic.
The panic continued to elevate and I considered asking them to put me to sleep, before that thought freaked me out, so I once again begged for my phone so I could call my mother. They did not give me my phone, they gave me a hospital landline. And the man stepped inside the room to listen to my call.
I begged my mom to come get me, saying I don’t care what you do just get them to let me go. She called the hospital and convinced them to let me leave. I didn’t sleep for a week.
On June 13th, 2021 I became a year sober for the first time. I was overwhelmingly proud of myself. I ordered a brass coin with the number 1 etched on it from Etsy so I’d have something solid to hold onto when the urge came.
And now it’s nearly January 13th, 2022. Five years from that suicide attempt. And I’m nearly 18 months sober.
Five years later and I’m still alive. Who knew?
I still struggle with it, a lot. But I figure if I can sit through what I have in the last five years and be here to type this than I can sit through anything because I assure you, it doesn’t go lower than here.
So anyway, I’m proud of myself. Happy January 13th.

pops hip n winks at the dash. haaaaiiii. me again. i’ve honestly missed playing lana fr a while she’s one of. my most treasured muses bc she’s jst a silly n vivacious ball of sunshine or alternatively? a train wreck depending on which way u turn her in the light..... i actually hv two playlists made fr her n one is rly old bt it’s more like. songs that Remind me of her which u can find here n then here is more like. stuff u’ll most often catch her blasting on her record player as she dances around in her underwear w the curtains open. OH and here is her pinterest 🍓⚡
* kristine froseth, cis female + she/her  | you know lana jameson, right? they’re twenty-three, and they’ve lived in irving for, like, a few hours? well, their spotify wrapped says they listened to play that funky music by wild cherry like, a million times this year, which makes sense ‘cause they’ve got that whole cherry red gym socks worn with nothing else, doodling penises in the condensation of a stranger’s car window, a bumper sticker on the back of a convertible cadillac that says ‘scrappy doo is a filthy slut’ thing going on. i just checked and their birthday is june 2nd, so they’re a gemini, which is unsurprising, all things considered. ( nai, 24, gmt, she/her  )
HISTORY:
lana grew up in a big house in albany, NY. i picture it w dark oak floors n lots of light furniture. albums framed on walls. mayb some rolling stone covers too frm way bk when of the bands her dad’s label signed. kind of like… a rock star palace w no evidence of children at all. i think i described it best in one of lana’s self paras once when i said the garden ws “as big as it was unloved”
lana’s mum victoria (vic) ws a music journalist w a pretty fruitful career ahead of her when she met lana’s dad richard (rich). his record label ws jst starting out, founded on the coattails of his wealthy best friend’s (jensen peters) investment w his other best friend (who he jst calls knoxville). it rocketed to success when they signed poppy injects, a rock band w an electric stage presence, n vic ws drawn to the glitz n glamour of a man tht ws at the helm of his aspiring industry. their love ws very impulsive, all or nothing right frm the start, n it ws almost like she ws mre in love w his accomplishments n what he represented than him.
(DRUGS TW) anyway so jameson records repped a few rock bands bk in the eighties, altho poppy injects r who they’re mostly known fr, namely bc of hw brightly they crashed n burned. they were a big chart success bt the lead singer hd quite an intense struggle w heroin (wsnt rly subtle abt it either while he ws in the public eye as u cn probably imagine frm such an on-the-nose band name) n he ws always in n out of the papers. it eventually brought down his career n it ws a big publicity nightmare
lana pretty much… grew up around figures like this throughout childhood. real characters who wld kind of… b extremely volatile n destructive abt their troubles. the jameson house was an open one as welcoming clients went n a lot of parties took place there. a lot of the time musicians wld b snorting lines in the kitchen when she wnted to grab a bowl of cereal fr breakfast n it was just. a very strange environment fr a child to grow up in. more zoo than home. more shaken snow globe than resting place. (END OF TW)
(ABORTION REFERENCE) her parents always kind of jst… didn’t like her much. her older brother caleb ws unplanned bt they sort of welcomed the surprise more bt… quickly realised they weren’t cut out fr parenthood n then when lana came as another surprise 3 yrs later they didn’t even try to hide their resentment abt the situation. her mum ws actually booked in to have an abortion bt cldnt go through with it at the last minute. once when lana ws a kid she asked her why she’s so cold towards her she jst turned her head frm her dresser, looked at her, told her abt this n said “idk why i didn’t go”. lana didn’t kno wht to say to tht so she jst left her room n closed the door (END OF REFERENCE)
(DISSOCIATION TW) bc of the intensity of her parents ignoring her growing up lana adopted this sense of like…. she didn’t rly kno what it ws bt it ws a delusion of sorts where she thought she ws a ghost bc she gt this strange outside feeling. she’d jst sort of… drift around the halls w no-one acknowledging her n sometimes she ws jst convinced she wsnt actually there or they cldnt see her n she ws jst haunting the house frm a previous family. (END OF TW) her imagination festered an explanation out of smthn she didn’t understand essentially. lana used her imagination to do this a lot growing up. it ws kind of like the band aid she slapped over everything. after all she wasn’t alone if she was sword fighting imaginary pirates dwn the hallway with a poker from the fireplace.
the one saving grace tho tht sort of?? gt her thru this n made her feel Seen ws caleb. lana quite genuinely hs always thought the sun shines out of her older brothers ass like she jst thinks. he’s the best person in the entire world. wld b rly bewildered if anyone questioned tht. he wld always look out for her n cut the crusts off her sandwiches (he’d cook fr them most of the time bc their parents were too busy/didn’t care to) n sometimes wld even sleep at the bottom of her bed curled up like a guard dog. it ws always lana n caleb n his best friend tommy against the world in tht house (tommy lived next door bt was always over bc he had very strict parents tht he found suffocating)
(ARMY MENTION) SO when tommy announced tht he’d signed up to the army (bc of pressures from tommy’s military dad to fulfil some kind of stupid “legacy” tommy didn’t even care abt) n caleb said he was going with him lana ws understandably…….. completely blindsided. she ws rly upset tht they were leaving n was kind of like “wtf why are u doing this like what do u even think this is gna solve” etc n begged caleb not to leave her there on her own n jst to not sign up in general bc tommy had to bt he didn’t listen.
ERM i won’t go into it but it didn’t turn out well as u can probably imagine bc the army is a terrible industry n caleb had to return home without tommy. he wasn’t the same after that. (END OF MENTION)
what’d been a rly close relationship before where he ws basically like a surrogate father figure to lana was Not there any more. he ws rly withdrawn n always pushing her away n snapping at her for the sake of getting her to leave him alone. on top of this lana had a lot of shit go down while he was away n rly just shouldn’t have been a kid alone in tht house. regardless lana thought if she kept grinning as wide as she cld she’d convince caleb to join in too. maybe if she seemed fine n happy he’d take the lead. maybe she’d believe it too n start to feel it n everything could go bk to how it was before her world became so different. lana liked the way the sky flipped when she tipped her head back on the swings bt this was different. everything was upside down bt this didn’t make her belly feel like she’d swallowed a butterfly and it wasn’t funny bt still, she kept laughing. always desperate to find something to laugh at n if she couldn’t find it she invented it. as long as ur laughing the world can’t b that bad.
she ws always well liked in school bc she jst tended to treat everyone like they were bffs no matter who like u cld have literally bumped shoulders w her once in the corridor n she’d be like OMG HAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII let’s kiss<3 n like she ws a huge notorious flirt w any n all as well as incredibly impulsive n jst. wild honestly to put it simply too bt things like. changed a bit frm 16 onwards. (HYPERSEXUALITY & IMPLIED TRAUMA TW) she jst became far more reckless honestly n like....... jst didn’t rly seem to care after a certain point abt herself too much.... got herself in a bunch of bad situations.......... kind of jst flung herself to the wolves numerous times without any caution abt the way they’d bite. formed a lot of self destructive habits one of which ws cruising craigslist personals fr random hook-ups n like. she literally cld have wound up in a ditch somewhere honestly it’s a shock she hasn’t. despite various dips n inclines in her journey navigating this side of her it’s very much still present in her life to this day n she struggles to kno hw to control herself at points. sometimes she feels like a melting candle tht needs moulding by thumbs until it can form a person again. sometimes she’s only sure she’s real when she’s being touched. (END OF TW)
ANYWAY. laughs nervously. went to college to study dance bc she’s always loved dance in general bt specifically ballet (despite definitely not hving the discipline for it) n honestly this was both good n bad fr her. had a whole string of terrible heartbreaking relationships bc she tends to fall into those hard n fast n they were w a lot of bad people fr like 98% of the time. she kind of learned more abt what love is during her time there tho which is a gd thing bt she still isn’t very good at knowing hw to believe she deserves it so it’s a process. she hd fun tho. threw 498572598475 outrageous n elaborately themed parties. ws friends w pretty much everyone on campus.
despite a strained relationship w her brother n having to go home to visit n check on him whenever he got rly bad it ws the first time it actually felt like she’d found a home in a lot of rly loving n genuine friendships n lana will never forget hw much that experience meant to her even if she definitely struggled there too. college felt like a place she belonged n then suddenly she couldn’t belong there any more n there was a big sense of floundering in that. like where do u go now when u’ve never known home elsewhere? how do u happily go out into the world if it means leaving ur world behind?
she applied to a dance company in LA n fell in w a pretentious art scene there full of wannabe andy warhols n the like. became a makeshift edie sedgwick to some guy w dyed white hair n the idea his every concept was revolutionary when rly he jst shot her dancing barely clothed splashing around in a random fountain in his friend’s mansion on an ancient film camera. she’d spend her days floating around on lilo’s and prancing in feather boas and racing with glitter leftover frm last night in her leotard w smudges of faint red lipstick to barely make her job on time. always a sexy train wreck bt this time? make it hollywood.
(IMPLIED ALCOHOLISM TW) i won’t lie to u lana hs always partied way too hard bt then partying way too hard turned into slurping merlot thru a crazy straw shaped like a flamingo at 4 in the afternoon wearing penis novelty sunglasses n it wasn’t quite so much of a party when u were doing it on ur own. this rly snowballed into place in college bt carried on n wound up getting her fired from the dance company bc she turned up to rehearsals drunk one too many times n they didn’t allow fr sloppiness like tht. it was a “professional operation” that didn’t “accept that kind of behaviour” bt lana was jst like ummmmmmmmm that’s totally dramatic btw way to spank me in the town square like i’m gale w a raw ass n back in the hunger games bt ok sure i’m out ig. BOOP! (literally booped the director on the nose before leaving) (END OF TW)
honestly hd no idea what to do w herself after her job fell thru in LA n was pretty embarrassed actually upon sobering up the nxt day. cldn’t bring herself to tell her friends for a hot minute bc she felt like a failure or smthn n she was meant to be living this glamorous life out there being the classic wild n silly n fun Lana Jameson. cldn’t figure out how to repackage it into a funny story tht wouldn’t worry ppl. eventually wound up jst caving n telling her closest besties (shoutout freya n rosa) bc she ws hving a weird time dating losers n randomly living in LA even tho she didn’t kno why she was there any more after losing the job n they were jst like. fk it then. jst come here. we’re in irving. and so? mizz jameson packed her bags....
PERSONALITY:
always smells vaguely of wild cherries or strawberry starburst or jst the candy aisle in general. if she ws a vinyl record she’d b this one n she’d only play good vibrations by the beach boys, dancing on my own by robyn, play that funky music by wild cherry, femme fatale by the velvet underground n (i can’t get no) satisfaction by the rolling stones

Once upon a time, two boys sat at a table together in a little coffee shop. One of them went on and on and on about something and the other watched him with an expression that channeled both confusion and adoration. Everyone looking on had the same mixed expression, but this time with different emotions: charmed amusement, and frustration.
See, Hamish and Y/n were adorable and obviously in love and those who didn't even know them looked at them and saw a couple and smiled because young love. Because young love gave everyone hope. Because it was fresh and pretty and admirable and kind of funny when you thought about all they were going to go through, imagining it with a happy ending of course.
Unfortunately, for those who did know them, Hamish and Y/n were really fucking annoying.
They were obviously in love with each other - or at the very least attracted on some level. Y/n always listened to Hamish ramble, even though he obviously had no idea what Hamish was going on about most of the time. Likewise, Hamish dealt with Y/n's severely annoying ability to not perceive literally any attempt at flirting Hamish threw at him.
Don't get me wrong, Hamish was trying. REALLY HARD. He's been trying since they first met. Hamish had been forming a friendship with this girl- the only person who could keep up with him when he talked about his field and major. But there came a moment when he noticed that she lost interest in him and what he was saying, even as she talked and joked along in time. The day he'd met Y/n, the boy had been talking to that girl that Hamish was sort of becoming acquaintances with. He used to know her name, but she had been quickly forgotten when Hamish had noticed how Y/n never lost interest in him, even though the poor English major was obviously way over his head trying to understand what Hamish was saying.
Long story: the girl and Hamish stopped talking in favor of Hamish giving Y/n all his attention. He preferred to be cared about and he appreciated the effort Y/n was giving, even if he couldn't deliver with any results. He liked that he could go on and on about anything - even things outside of school - and Y/n would listen without complaint. There was something so genuine about Y/n. It drew Hamish in a lot. After a while, their conversation drifted from Hamish talking and Y/n listening to Hamish trying to get as much information about Y/n as he could. Y/n was willing to talk about a lot, and where he was hesitant Hamish recognized the line he'd drawn and let it be. They were only friends for five and a half months, but in that time Hamish had developed very deep feelings for Y/n. Which had lead him to try his hand at flirting.
At first he'd thought Y/n wasn't interested, but then someone had made a joke about them being a couple and Y/n had gone along with it without hesitation. Which seemed to Hamish as if he didn't mind the idea. He had looped in a classmate on a promise he'd do the kid's next assignment. The kid had flirted with Y/n, getting the same complete lack of understanding Hamish did. It seemed that despite Y/n being super affectionate and kind, and even though he was quite smart if Hamish gave the time and effort to help him understand, Y/n was the single most oblivious person Hamish had ever met. At some point Y/n had decided that no one would ever like him, or maybe he'd accepted flirting in some other form. Whatever it was, Y/n did not pick up on any common form of flirting at all.
Hamish tried for two months. TWO. MONTHS. He gave up and even tried straight up pick up lines. Y/n's response had been to return with pick up lines of his own and then to say, "I love that we can joke around like this. It's so refreshing, when everyone around here seems to be so gloomy and shit these days."
Hamish was at his wit's end. He was ready to just take a leap of faith and tell Y/n his feelings straight out and take the hit if Y/n rejected him. Before he could, unfortunately, he found a blue rose on his desk one morning as he prepared for his TA period. He'd looked around to see what it could possibly mean and after several hours and dark holes and wrong paths, came across the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. Instead of confronting Y/n about his feelings, he decided to go to this thing tonight. It seemed interesting and might give him time to clear his head. He enjoyed new things and learning opportunities. Something fresh to figure out might even clear his head and help him with this whole Y/n predicament.
That evening as Y/n and him did their usual afternoon studying together, Y/n seemed upset about something. Hamish wasn't going to prod about it, as he'd learned that Y/n only shared his thoughts and emotions when he was ready to, but it was setting a weird mood.
"Hamish?" The blonde boy looked up, expecting Y/n to finally share. Whatever he'd been expecting, what Y/n said next threw him off. "Don't go tonight."
Hamish's eyebrows came together. "Don't go to what?"
Y/n pursed his lips before looking at the colored pencils he'd been doodling with. They'd found that if Y/n took a few seconds every once in a while to do something other than homework, he had a lot better time studying. That didn't seem to be what he was thinking about now. He picked up a blue pencil and reached over, handing it to Hamish. "Will this one be okay to use on your notes? I know you're peculiar about how you organize them.”
Hamish didn't highlight his notes. He stapled them by units and had a different folder for each of his classes, but that was it. If he really needed to remember something, he would use blue pen instead of black. He hated using pencil though- it faded and smeared.
However, despite the oddity, Hamish was not confused about the message Y/n was sending. There was only one thing Hamish was doing tonight, as they'd made no other engagements. And the only way Y/n would know about it...
Y/n was part of the Order of the Hermetic Blue Rose. And he was telling Hamish not to come to the whatever it was.
In Y/n's eyes, Hamish saw a plea for Hamish to avoid the thing altogether.
"It'll be fine," Hamish said slowly. Y/n's level of code and secrecy lines up with the Order. After all, they were kind of like the Illuminati, if the Illuminati were real. It was super secret and most people thought it a big joke. Hamish had thought it a joke himself before he'd gotten that rose. He'd only heard of it in passing, mostly when homework "went missing" and people joked about the Order whisking it away, or someone wasn't in class and people played with the idea of them having crossed the Order. If Y/n was apart of it, he would never say it in any way.
"No," Y/n argued. He seemed to think for a second and Hamish realized that he was trying to deliver a message to Hamish. "Honestly Hamish I think this class is bad for you. You seem to struggle with it a lot. Maybe you should just drop it. I've been... meaning to tell you for a while now."
Raising an eyebrow, Hamish tried to figure out what Y/n was saying. Did he think this would be too hard for Hamish? That he wasn't smart or tough enough? No, that wasn't in character. Y/n always encouraged Hamish to do things even when Hamish himself set a limit. He decided to test the waters, push back a little. Try and get more information. “I mean it's not that bad. I've been enjoying it."
Y/n frowned. "I took it last year and it almost ruined my transcript. I know how much you care about your grades- it might really hurt them. Dangerous stuff you're playing with here." Hamish's eyebrows came together. Before he could ask, Y/n stood and gathered his stuff. "I'll see you tomorrow." He gave a tight smile, fear in his eyes. What was he afraid of? He left and Hamish gave only a small nod.
Was the Order really so serious? I mean honestly it was just a bunch of college kids. Were they... cruel? Maybe it was more of a gang than some powerful organization. Maybe Y/n was in trouble.
Well that meant that Hamish absolutely had to go. He needed to know what was going on and how to help Y/n, if he could. If he couldn't, at least they'd be able to watch each other's backs.
So he did.
And before anything happened, a weird ringing sound took over his entire mind and the next thing he knew he was in a room he sort of recognized but had no memory of. Naked. Covered in blood.
The next time he saw Y/n, surprise surprise, actually wasn't when they were all attacked by those they'd been closest to the last six months. And by they, he meant the three other people he also kind of recognized but, yet again, had no memory of. No, it was actually a little after he discovered what the Order really was and found out he was a werewolf. Alyssa Drake of all people popped out of nowhere, promising to give their memories back. And as she talked to Jack and tried to convince him to trust her, Hamish spotted Y/n next to her.
He became human and put a robe on, coming into the room. He felt a lot of emotions. They pushed him to blow right past Alyssa and Jack, straight to Y/n. Hamish pinned him against the wall, anger seeming to have taken the most hold for now. Y/n looked terrified, but when their eyes met his expression softened. Hamish got the impression that Y/n was not afraid of him, but something else. It made worry boil up and he pushed it down, trying to keep hold of himself.
"Tell me you weren't sent to watch me. Tell me you aren't one of them, Y/n."
The room was very quiet as the others came in, everyone watching. Y/n searched for the words for a second. "I- Hamish, I'm part of the Order." Hamish stepped back and Y/n's eyes watered. He seemed to be more panicked now. "I didn't become your friend just to watch you like the others though! We weren't ever supposed to meet or talk, not like we did. The- the girl I was talking to the day we met. SHE was supposed to watch you. But you started ignoring her and seemed to take to me better, so I- I- I hate it now, but back then I was just doing what I was told."
"So you took my memories?" Hamish demanded. "That didn't strike you as wrong?"
"Okay first of all," Y/n snapped. "I didn't even know who you were for like two and a half weeks after we started talking, okay? When they told me, they introduced you as some incredibly dangerous monster who was hellbent on killing everyone who used magic so even if I had, it would have been in self defense because I thought you were dangerous."
Lilith stepped forward. "If you had?"
Y/n huffed, straightening his clothes. "I didn't ever dust you. By the time they told me who you were, they only told me because I was talking to someone about this guy that I-" he cut off, and Hamish shifted upon seeing the blush rise up his throat. Lilith and Alyssa both wore the exact same look. They knew exactly how Y/n felt. "I was friends with." It was then that Jack's eyes went wide with understanding too. "They tried to convince me to stay away because of what you are, but all you've ever been is funny and smart and really talented and snarky as hell." He huffed in amusement. "I was always kind of impressed with you, your sass is like next level it's amazing." Everyone in the room felt the oddity of the warring emotions of everyone else with the weird sort of light and humor Y/n brought to the table. They wanted to smile, but there was too much else going on. Y/n cleared his throat, trying to not default to humor. Hamish cursed himself for being concerned- he knew that Y/n struggled a lot with being emotionally vulnerable. "Anyway, I don't know who did it or how or when, but they never even asked me to. They thought that we had stopped talking for the most part. I never talked about you again at least."
"Until now," Alyssa spoke up. "He confronted me. Begged me to help because he said I would understand since I was... friends with Jack. I told him about my plan to come here and help you guys and he was more than willing and ready. We were hoping that together we might be able to convince you."
The Knights got quiet, all listening to each other. But it was clear that everyone but Randall was nearly completely convinced, and Randall didn't care enough to argue. If  his friends were going, so was he.
They all lined up and Alyssa dusted them. At first they panicked but when they all woke up with their memories completely returned, Hamish's eyes immediately landed on a very hopeful Y/n. He scrambled to his feet, trying to find his words. "You lied to me." Y/n paled. He seemed to be terrified again, but this time Hamish knew immediately why. He was scared of losing Hamish.
Again.
"Hey guys! How are we doing?" Y/n was smiling as usual. It was dazzling to Hamish.
"Better now that you're here."
Y/n laughed. "I know you've been having a hard time with homework, but have you really been so miserable without the comedy relief around to lift the mood?"
Everyone exchanged looks. Everyone but Y/n, who was as always oblivious to everything. Hamish had struck out again.
The first memory was the easiest to swallow.
"Hey Hammy."
"You've been spending too much time with Randall," Hamish sighed as Y/n greeted him upon entering the Den. Y/n laughed. "Maybe you should be spending more time with me."
"Miss me?" Y/n teased.
Hamish looked up from his book, locking eyes with Y/n. "Yeah. Maybe just us? Tonight? Dinner? Movie? Something else?"
Y/n shrugged, his expression unchanged. "Yeah sure dude. I'm starving, and the new-" Hamish stopped listening after that. His message had gone unreceived once more.
He could remember everything, and yet he found himself mulling over the ones about Y/n the most.
"You should wear that shirt more often. You look very good in it."
"Thanks man."
And-
"You free later? I was thinking maybe we could get better acquainted."
"And see I was sitting here thinking we were already best friends." Y/n’s frustratingly beautiful laugh rang out again and Hamish felt his shoulders slump. "Yeah I'm down to hang. Anything for my best buddy."
Then there was-
"Hey Y/n nice pants. They'd look great on Hamish's floor."
"Very funny Lilith," Y/n hummed as he read a book. Hamish shot her a death glare as he sat next to Y/n, his arm draped over the back of the couch they both sat on.
"Not a joke," Randall chimed in. "I think they'd really match the walls. Maybe try it out?"
"I would have to take them off to do that, and I don't see the point of going all the way back to my dorm to get another pair of pants for me to wear just so we can see how these look on Hamish's floor. Total waste of time, especially when I have to have this book read by tomorrow for class."
Eventually Hamish had just turned to pick up lines.
"Hey Y/n, can you hold this?"
He held out his hand and Y/n went to take whatever he was holding, only for Hamish to interlock their fingers. Y/n laughed and didn't drop his hand, even as he rolled his eyes to dismiss what was happening. "Now who's been spending too much time with Randall?" After Y/n looked the other way, Hamish frowned and dropped his hand.
Attempt after attempt after attempt....
"Kiss me if I'm wrong but dinosaurs still exist right?"
Y/n didn't even blink. "Dinosaurs do exist, silly. Well, their bones do. We can go the museum to check them out if you want to?"
Hamish huffed. "What about the kissing me part?"
"Well you were wrong, so I'll have to pass," Y/n reasoned calmly. Hamish glared at the opposite wall so Y/n couldn't see.
He had tried everything.
"You remind me of my homework, because I'm going to slam you on my desk and do you all night."
Y/n burst out laughing. "That's a good one! I haven't heard that one yet. Did you go on some weird kick and look all these up? You've had a load to share lately."
Hamish sighed. "Yeah. Randall got drunk and shared them all with me. I thought they'd make you laugh."
Until he'd finally just said it.
Hamish stood in front of Y/n, desperate. At this point, even his friends thought Y/n was a hopeless case. Maybe they'd been wrong. Maybe Y/n didn't like Hamish. Maybe he was just trying to be polite. "Will you go on a date with me Y/n?”
Y/n smiled at Hamish. "Lose to Cup Pong with Randall again?" Hamish didn't even waste the time to come up with something. He just turned around and walked away, ignoring Y/n's familiar laugh behind him.
He'd been sure that Y/n just wasn't into him. Until:
"If we die today, I need you to know that I love you."
"I love y-"
"No." Hamish grabbed Y/n by the shoulders, his eyes boring into the other boy's. "The Order is probably going to kill us today, or the next chance they get, now that they know about us.  Even if it's not today. I can't die without you knowing that I've legitimately fallen in love with you and it's driving me insane."
Y/n's eyes were wide and earnest, but before he could respond Vera and him had to face the magicians outside who had found the Den, and after there had been too much going on... He hadn't even gotten to get Y/n alone before his memory of Y/n had been taken completely in one go.
Hamish remembered everything. He remembered scheming with Randall, who knew Y/n the most of course because-
Randall was the first to move after they all woke up, dazed and trying to process all their new memories. He, of course, tackled Y/n in a hug immediately. They were both crying. "I'm sorry I forgot you."
"I knew you'd come around," Y/n reassured. "We're brothers man. You can't get rid of me even though you totally want to."
Leaning away, Randall laughed as he wiped his tears. The pair had been a duo for as long as any of the pack had known either of them. Randall was the one who acted like an idiot but was super smart. Y/n was the one who everyone thought was super smart because he got great grades and knew fun facts, but who was actually a total idiot in the sense that he had absolutely no people skills and misread almost every situation and made everything either really fun or super awkward. With help from Hamish he'd been able to figure it out a little. That's how they'd all met. Hamish had told them both about the Knights, but only Randall had been chosen by one of the furs. They'd all been friends until...
"Wait, you're part of the Order?" Hamish voiced.
Y/n sighed, Randall's arms falling away from him. "Alyssa came to me before. She begged me not to tell you, because if they didn't dust you then they were going to kill you. I figured it would be better to have you guys forget me than to be dead, at least until we could figure... something out. I told mom that something really bad had happened and you had disowned me. Said-" He blushed. "I said you and Hamish were together and I'd made a move on you. She was PISSED and left it to me to fix. I was just glad she didn't mention me to you at all. She's been mad at me for ages and demanding I figure out a way to fix it, so when Alyssa had the idea to just work with you guys instead of doing what we were told... I was all for it."
"He joined the Order so they wouldn't wipe his memories," Alyssa continued. "Because all of last year's additions had been... eliminated one way or another, we needed more people anyway. And since Y/n already knew about magic and you guys, it was only too easy to convince the Grand Magus to induct him."
Hamish stood and Y/n did with him. Randall immediately got protective, but Y/n placed a hand on his shoulder and he calmed. Not that he could take Hamish... maybe. Now Y/n was curious, but this wasn't the thing to be worrying about right now.
Hamish opened his mouth to speak, and from the look in his eyes Y/n could see what he was thinking. So he skipped the pleasantries and rushed to him, pulling him close by the back of his neck so their lips could press together. Everyone else, despite everything going on, cheered. After everything they'd been through and all the hardships they'd faced, finally - FINALLY - Y/n had figured his shit out.
When Y/n pulled apart, both boys were grinning. "I've been being your friend for the last few months so that when I finally found out a way to get your memories back, they wouldn't question it when we got together because goddamnit Hamish, I love you too. And I hope you still feel the way you did then, even knowing that I'm part of the Order. That I... I know magic, and use it." He looked like he was ready to get rejected.
"You still know nothing," Hamish whispered. "The fact that you could feel me miss you back and you still think I would chose any other relationship or person over you or let anything get between us... How can you be THAT stupid?"
Y/n socked him on the shoulder. "Asshole."
Hamish just grinned before hooking his finger in Y/n's belt loops. "Your asshole."
"Damn right," Y/n whispered, smirking.
Lilith reached over and chucked a pillow at them. "OKAY OKAY! We do have shit to deal with other than your guys' love life." She was right. The boys parted and everyone got ready to do whatever they had to next to make the scales balanced again. To make it all right.
But as they all headed to the the temple, Y/n leaned over and added, "I owe you a date."
Hamish just smiled at that. "More like you owe me ten."

He couldn’t believe it.
Even watching the flyer hang from the board on the wall with his own two eyes, Steve could barely remember the conversation with Nat that led to this moment as he was sat on a bench outside a classroom for the first time in eighty years.
He hadn’t drawn seriously in decades, probably since before the Battle of New York. The rest had just been little doodles, here and there. Nothing really came from it. But here he was  standing in the doorway of a studio, ready for a life drawing class.
Steve couldn’t understand the nerves racking his body—he was Captain America for crying out loud, he’s been in far worse situations than attending an art class.
Why on earth couldn’t he bring himself to walk through a silly little doorway? He was pulled from his thoughts by a soft delicate voice.
‘Excuse me...’ He was pulled from his thoughts by a voice, soft and delicate. His head snapped to the left, his jaw drifting slightly ajar as he took you in. ‘Are you headed inside?’ You were dressed casually, a warm jacket over what was clearly a man’s button down shirt and your jeans had little doodles on the rough denim canvass. Little splats of paint here and there coated the entire look.  Steve didn’t know quite why, but he was immediately enticed.
‘I - uh, yeah. I am, sorry I’m in your way.’ He hastily moved out of the doorway, gesturing for you to enter first but you didn’t make a move as your eyes clearly sized him up and he was thankful he had pulled the dark blue baseball cap low over his brow. It wasn’t much in terms of a disguise but that paired with the thick beard that coated his jaw made it harder for the average person to recognise him.
‘Is this your first drawing class?’ You framed it as a question, but it was clear you already knew the answer.
He nodded a little sheepishly. ‘How could you tell?’
‘You just seem a little nervous. Don’t worry, though. It’s really not as scary as it might seem. I remember when I first signed up, I was terrified that someone would say I wasn’t good enough for the class. I could barely keep my hands steady. So, naturally, that turned out to be one of the worst drawings of my life but no one said a word. You have nothing to worry about - you don’t need to prove yourself here.’
‘Anytime, but if you are going to come in I suggest you do it sooner rather than later. Madame Maxine absolutely hates tardiness and it’s nearly seven.’ You gave him a small but genuine smile before you excused yourself, your hips swaying slightly as you walked through the doorway and over to an easel.
He let out a sigh of relief when you’d left - it gave him some privacy to hype himself up and quiet the inner critic screaming his anxieties.Taking a steadying breath, he followed your footsteps and headed for an unclaimed easel towards the back as the rest of the class made idle chit chat, clearly all familiar with one another as they readied themselves for the lesson.
He rolled out his shoulders before sitting on the small stool, pulling his sketchbook and set of charcoal pencils from his satchel. It was a mixed media class and Steve watched in awe as some people set canvases up on their easels, their palets already covered with various colours of paint.
He felt woefully underprepared with his worn leather bound sketchbook and collection of pencils, but it was how he had always drawn. His mother had barely been able to afford the splurge for real drawing pencils, nevermind paints or canvases.
There was a portly man standing in the corner of the room stretching his muscles this way and that, and he figured this must be their model for the day. Most of the drawing Steve had done in the past few years had been of inanimate objects, it was much easier than asking one of his many busy friends to sit still for a few hours as he drew them. If he’d felt more in the mood for a portrait, he generally used photographs as a reference point, so having a real live model would be a nice change.
A few more minutes passed before an elderly woman entered the room. Her hair was grey and her curls frayed out in every direction from the messy bun she has tied it in. She wore a green and yellow bandana around her face keeping her hair away and a matching flowy dress with a dark blue half apron tied around her waist. Immediately, Steve knew this woman had to be Maxine.
She clapped her hands together, drawing the class’s attention as she neared the front of the room. ‘Good evening, I am Maxine Winnefred and I will be your instructor over the next few weeks as we explore the human form. I recognise some of you from my Summer course focussed on the true form of still life in fruits and flowers, and I would just like to say it’s lovely to see you all again.’ She smiled as her eyes rested on those who must be the familiar faces.
‘To the new faces in the room, there are a few things you should know about me.While I do understand everyone has lives outside of the art world, tardiness remains unacceptable as a hard and fast rule–especially where live models are concerned. Secondly, whether about your own piece or someone else’s, I will not stand for any negative thoughts. We are all here to learn and the only way you can truly achieve that is with a positive mindset. If you feel negatively about a particular piece of yours, you must think of it as a stepping stone. What did you do wrong? What can you improve on next time? The human form is incredibly complicated and it may take a while getting used to if you’re not familiar with it.’
‘Since you have all elected to pay for the entire course, if for some reason you are unable to make it to a session, I also run a Thursday night class. You must call me and let me know that you will be attending that class as I will need to make sure there are enough easels and stools. I will hand out my number at the end of class. Are there any questions?’
Although it had barely been five minutes, Steve could already tell he would enjoy this class, especially being under Maxine’s tutelage. She had a no nonsense air that was rare to find in the art world and despite this being a fairly casual, once a week type of get together, Steve knew she took her work seriously. She wanted all of her pupils to be their best.
The room fell into silence as her eagle eye flickered around the sea of faces. When moments had passed in silence, she continued.
‘This is Jerry,’ she held her arm out, becaning the man over. ‘He will be our first model. We will be drawing him for the first two weeks, once with clothes and once without, we will then move onto our next model and the same process will follow.’ Everyone nodded their heads in understanding but Steve felt his cheeks flush slightly. He had known that there would be nude models and he knew that it was all purely professional but still… the small kid from the forties never would have even thought about doing something like this.
‘Right. Jerry,’ she clapped her hands again, eyes locked on just where her model would go in the scene. ‘If you could please get into position A, we can get started. To the class, we’ll have him sit for an hour and twenty minutes. Then another hour after that with a break in between. Somewhere in there we’ll have a vote on whether or not we would like to see a new pose or the same.’ Maxine checked the time as Jerry found his seating on the lone stool in the front of the room. Once he was in position, she prompted the class to begin.
Although he’d been wanting to avoid detection, Steve was deeply regretting choosing a seat so far from the front. On the surface level, his better than average eyesight would be acceptable - and yet, being the perfectionist that he was, he wanted to get up and close with Jerry. He wanted to be able to mark every tiny blemish on his skin, every line of sadness or laughter.
Steve sighed to himself before he picked up his HB pencil, getting to work on his main outline. He hadn’t been working long when he felt a presence at his shoulder, peering over at his work. He’d just finished the vague outline of Jerry’s clothes and the stool beneath him when she spoke. ‘Back in my day, it was considered rude to wear a hat indoors, Mr…?’
He had to at least try and hide his smile over her words, being at least forty years her senior.
‘Just Steve.’ Quickly he swiped the cap from his head, placing it down in his satchel on the floor. ‘I’m sorry ma’am.’
‘That’s okay son, just don’t let it happen again.’ She gave him a small smile before setting off, perusing the pieces of the other artists and Steve got back to work.
+
His neck ached from the awkward position it had been contorted to for the past ninety minutes. He could feel the muscles in his hand beginning their protest. It had been a long time since he’d drawn so intently and he wasn’t used to it quite yet.
He stood from his stool, stretching out his back as he did so, wandering over to the small table of refreshments after a few moments. He swiped a lemon biscuit from the tray, catching sight of you from his periphery. You were gesturing wildly as you chatted up an older fellow. Your face was the picture of sincerity and Steve couldn’t help but smile as he eavesdropped.
‘One of these days you have to teach me your shading technique, Albert. The way you make a simple shadow have so much depth and colour is incredible,’ you gushed.
‘So long as you teach me how you do the detail work around the eyes. Whenever I try, they just come out looking blank!’ he shot back with a smile on his lips.
‘It’s a deal.’ You held your hand jokingly Albert took it, shaking it vigorously as you chuckled. Feeling his eyes on you, your head quirked in Steve’s direction and you quickly excused yourself.
Steve tried to busy himself and pretend that he hadn’t been caught awkwardly staring at you but your footsteps were growing closer by the second.
‘So? How are you feeling, newbie? Not as daunting as you thought, huh?’ There was a small teasing smile playing along the corner of your lips and Steve couldn't help but laugh along with you.
‘I really don’t know why I was so nervous, but what you said… Well, it really helped. So, thank you for that. I assume you took Maxine’s summer course?’ he asked, trying to make conversation.
‘Yeah, it was a fruit and flower class, plus I also took her winter human form class before that. I fell hard for portraits, so I just knew I had to take it again this year.’ Steve nodded in understanding, taking a class this way was the perfect opportunity to work on portraiture. ‘And what about yourself? I may have snuck a peek at your easel. You have an incredible eye from what I can tell. How did you capture such detail in only pencils?’
Steve felt his face heat as he took your compliment. ‘I’m honestly not quite sure, but I’ve had a lot of practice. Growing up, I was bedridden more often than not and my best friend used to come over and sit with me for hours. I probably know his face better than my own.’ He felt the familiar pang that echoed around his heart every time he thought of Bucky and those days that stretched into nights when all he would do was stare at the other man, trying to capture his beauty on the page. Steve forced himself to shake off the memories to try and keep his tone light. He hadn’t intended on saying something so personal but there was just something about you that made him want to let down his guard and that was dangerous.
‘Really? You were bedridden?’ Your mouth gaped slightly and Steve couldn’t help but notice the way your eyes danced slightly down his body. ‘But you look so perfect now - I mean, uh. You look… You look very healthy.’
He smiled, trying not to laugh as dread coated your face. He’s reminded so much of the man he left behind all those years ago…the boy in the back of the car, driving through Brooklyn, although he had to admit, you were far cuter than he had ever been.
‘How long have you been painting for?’ Steve tried to brush the conversation away, he liked talking to you just as a fellow artist and he wasn’t ready for you to recognise him. ‘You’re very talented.’
‘Oh, it’s just sort of a hobby that I do in my spare time. I went to uni and got an Arts degree, but you know how it goes. It only gets you so far in the real world.’
‘If you’re not an artist, what do you do for a living?’
‘I’m a secretary at a law firm.’ He nodded trying to maintain control of his thoughts. Being a secretary wasn’t a filler job for a woman any more. Not like it had been in his day. ‘You?’
‘Oh…’ The question took him completely by surprise and his mind went blank. He needed to think fast. ‘I uh… I work for Stark Enterprises. I’m on his PR team.’ Steve tried to justify it in his mind as it wasn’t a complete lie he was a part of the PR team. Plus, he couldn’t have said he was a scientist or something. It would have been clear he was lying if you asked him any type of even remotely science question.
‘Ah, maybe that’s why you look kind of familiar. Are you a part of his press conferences?’
Steve nodded, feeling his throat start to tighten. He wasn’t ready for this to end. Call him selfish but he didn’t want this to end. For someone to treat him as he was, rather than who he was. He hadn’t felt so at home with himself, with someone else, in a long time.
He was saved from further interrogation by the chime of a bell. The ten minute break was up. The group had already opted to keep Jerry in the same reclined pose, so he quickly found his position and the class returned to their sketching.
While Steve tried to keep his eyes focussed on his drawing, he couldn’t help the constant flicker of his eyes over to where to sat, paintbrush in hand, looking like one of the Greek Muses.
He only prayed you were one of the merciful ones.

Chapter 222
He met Kakashi first. Well, that was kind of obvious. Genma met the last of the once proud Hatake line when they were both in the academy, not technically age mates although they attended all of the same classes. Back then Kakashi hadn’t covered so much of his body at all times but he’d still carried with him the sort of air that made others stay away, the air of one who stood above the rest even if he was good enough not to rub that in any of their faces. Genma watched Kakashi from afar because he was talented and interesting but never made much of an effort to actually get to know him. They ran in different groups of friends and there only ever seemed to be two or three people Kakashi deigned to give his attention to. No point in trying to make friends with someone who didn’t want any.
It wasn’t until they were both nearing the end of their teenage years and Kakashi had been broken in so many ways it hurt just to look at him that Genma realized they had never touched before. He realized only because, well, because they touched. For the very first time. And when he pulled his hand away from where he’d clapped it down on to Kakashi’s shoulder with a great deal of frustrated exasperation the imprint of his hand stayed behind. Some of it, at least.
“Just leave it be, Genma,” Kakashi was saying. “I’m paying my respects. The dead don’t care about rain so I don’t see why I should. Look, if you’re worried about me being late for the mission I’ll catch up, okay?”
“Kakashi…”
“Go on ahead without me.”
“No, shut up for a damn second!” Blinking several times in rapid succession did nothing to clear the mark from his view. Half a handprint. He’d never studied his own fingerprints very closely but he knew that mark hadn’t been there a second ago so it couldn’t really be anyone else’s. What he did know for sure was that he definitely had a whole hand on that arm the last time he’d checked.
Kakashi only had one eyebrow visible at the best of times and when he turned away from the monument it was lifted in question, his uncovered eye dark with the shadows he’d been carrying with him since Obito’s death.
“Alright, I’ll shut up then,” he said. Amazingly his words came out with just the slightest undertone of humor rather than insult. If Genma’s brain weren’t currently exploding he might have appreciated that a bit more.
“Look at your shoulder. And don’t you dare try to run!”
So Kakashi looked. By some miracle he didn’t even try to flee, although that might have had something to do with the way his knees wavered and folded underneath him. When he lifted a hand to trace the shape of one on his shoulder his cheeks danced through several different colors that Genma wished he knew how to properly interpret. Trying to figure out what was going on in this guy’s brain had always been more guessing game than exact science.
“Half?” Kakashi whispered eventually. “What...does that mean?”
“Oh no you don’t, I know exactly where your head is going, don’t even try to say you must be broken or unwanted or any of that! We’re just...probably waiting on another, you know?” Genma licked his lips nervously, passing the senbon in his mouth from side to side.
“Another!?”
“Well yeah. You know, like how Raidou’s got two mums and a dad? Or how Shizune’s got two mums and two dads? We just got to find our other one probably.”
Kakashi chewed that over for several minutes. While he thought Genma did his best to be subtle about inching closer. He’d been excited about finding his soulmate since he was old enough to know what they were but he knew there were less and less people like him every generation, shinobi more and more frequently taught from a young age not to look forward to something that could end up being used against them. Some people even hoped they never found their match to avoid the chance of testing their own loyalties. Privately Genma had always questioned any loyalty that didn’t leave room for questions.
Slowly the minutes passed as his shuffling took him closer and closer. They really were supposed to be leaving on a mission, were supposed to have left almost a half hour ago, but it wasn’t like the man they were being sent after would die any different if they arrived at night rather than midafternoon. Well, their pay might be cut some if they didn’t make it look quite like the accident they were contracted for but that wasn’t the end of the world. This was more important. If he used his best puppy eyes the Sandaime might not even punish them.
Eventually Kakashi lifted his head and took a deep breath, startling to see that Genma was so much closer but very tellingly not protesting. When he spoke every word carried the faintest tremble.
“I get...two?” he murmured. “Two people who want me?”
“Oh is that- that’s what you were thinking about? God damn it, Hatake!” With a roll of his eyes Genma flopped down on to the ground and threw both arms around Kakashi’s shoulders, more than aware that he was risking a knife between the ribs but also more than willing to take that chance. “We’re your soulmates. We wouldn’t be matched if we weren’t what you needed, you know? I want you, let's be clear on that, and I’m sure they’ll want you too.”
“Not dumb. I’m a genius.”
When their eyes met Genma was cheered to see that spark of humor had returned. His first soulmate had a lot of issues but that was fine, they could work on those together. They’d be fine until the day they could finally be whole.
It took a while. Quite a few years. More than a decade, actually, but Genma would be happy to tell anyone that neither of them had really minded the wait all that much. They had each other through it all and despite the idiot’s protests they spent most of them working Kakashi through the worst of his abandonment issues until he could be called something at least adjacent to mentally stable. In that time they both did their rounds in ANBU and left the organization to seek healthier ways to serve their village. Where Genma chose to fall back in to the regular mission roster Kakashi found himself roped in to taking on a team of genin, something neither of them thought was a really good idea but neither could see a way to get around.
The kids were, collectively, almost as messed up as their sensei had been. Out of the three the most normal was a little pink bubblegum girl named Sakura who spent most of her time swooning over the last of the Uchiha line. Kakashi did what he could to avoid contact with them just as he did for most people, a habit that Genma found entirely exasperating.
“How are we meant to fill out the rest of our marks if you won’t touch people?” he’d asked once.
“Maa,” Kakashi had waved him off. “They can touch you.”
Genma had rolled his eyes and very carefully not traced the colors filling half of his right palm.
Leaving the village periodically had been a part of life since he first graduated the academy but knowing that he was leaving Kakashi behind, trapped inside those massive walls until he felt that his new team might be able to survive the world beyond them, that was new. Mostly it was a new amusement. Genma made sure to bring home as many tales of the outside world as he could, playing them up for all the amusement he could squeeze out of watching Kakashi rock between wistful and jealous. Neither of them had ever really known what to do with kids until three of them were unceremoniously dumped in Kakashi’s lap so Genma didn’t feel much guilt over not coming to see the little rugrats. He knew all he needed to know about them from the horror stories his partner told him.
Or at least he thought he did until the years began to turn and slowly the rest of the village started talking about them. It figured that Kakashi would stumble his way in to accidentally raising some of the most important kids of their generation. If the last of the Uchiha wasn’t notable enough then he had the son of the Yondaime Hokage and if that still wasn’t notable there was always the bubblegum girl who picked herself up off the ground and apprenticed herself to the Godaime, smiling deceptively at anyone who pleased her only to punch straight through the sternum of the ones who didn’t. Genma, when he finally met her face to face, decided that they could definitely be friends after she gained a few more years.
He didn’t realize exactly what such an errant and mindless thought would become.
Keeping his distance from Kakashi’s kids became a lot harder once they stopped actually being kids, growing steadily in to adulthood until one day he met his partner at one of the dingy bars they both shamelessly adored only to find that Kakashi wasn’t alone, slightly harried looking where he sat in the middle of four other bodies all smiling and trading jokes about his new haircut. Genma was already laughing a little to see Naruto poking at the spikes now several inches shorter and neater than they had been earlier in the day.
“It’s certainly an interesting look, senpai,” Cat was telling him - or Yamato, Genma remembered he was supposed to call him now.
“Maa, it’s an accidental look,” Kakashi admitted. Genma slid in to the seat next to him with a little wave to everyone else, barely reacting when Kakashi swooned dramatically in to his shoulder. “One of the ninken knocked in to me when I was trimming and I took a massive chunk off the left side. It was either leave it like that or make everything match.”
“Well I think it looks nice,” Sakura offered. Oddly enough she even seemed to mean it.
Kakashi nodded gratefully in her direction only to wilt when he spotted the notepad that Sai had whipped out, already doodling an outline of the new haircut. Apparently the reminder of his own reflection was not a welcome one.
“So cruel,” he moaned. “All of my loved ones are so cruel to me!”
“I’m sure we’d all be a lot nicer with more alcohol in us.” Well aware that he wasn’t being at all subtle, Genma could only offer a beaming smile when his partner leaned away to glare at him.
“Extra cruel.”
“Does that mean you’re not paying for my beer?”
Kakashi harrumphed his way out of his seat and stomped away towards the bar, gumbling under his breath about joint accounts and shared finances. With most of the table laughing along with him it was only too easy for Genma to ignore Sakura’s narrowed eyes. They’d crossed paths several times during her apprenticeship to Lady Tsunade, a source of much amusement for him whenever he pulled guard duty, but he’d never really had a chance to get to know her more than that so he could probably be forgiven for not knowing what that particular look on her face meant. Or what doom it spelled for those that might ignore it.
When Sakura got up to walk after her old sensei Genma figured she was only going for another drink. Maybe popping off to the bathroom. He would have thought she was going to powder her nose if he had ever seen her wearing more than mascara but even the village civilians knew that the Yamanaka girl was the one obsessed with painting her face. If he had to guess he’d probably say Sakura’s version of dressing up had a lot to do with picking an outfit that best showed off her admittedly impressive biceps.
Not, of course, that he was disparaging such choices. He’d always been attracted to competence more so than a painted face.
It took several minutes for Kakashi and Sakura to make their way back across the bar but when they did they were both wearing faces like they’d seen the meaning of life itself and lived to talk about it. Genma was out of his seat and reaching for Kakashi in an instant, baffled when the man only stood there and blinked at him.
“Genma-san can we talk to you outside?” Sakura asked in a strained voice.
“Sure. Yeah. Did you…break him?”
“I think I might have,” she breathed. Then she turned and walked towards the back entrance with jerky steps.
Without bothering to answer any of the questions from those left behind Genma took his partner’s hand and dragged them both after the pink hair bobbing away from them. Sakura’s compact little body was built much better than either of theirs for weaving her way through the crowd, enough so that by the time they stumbled out in to the back alley Genma was a little worried she might have had time to disappear on them. Thankfully she hadn’t. He did, however, note that her eyes were just as wide as Kakashi’s and both of them looked rather like they would have loved to flee if only they could figure out which direction to go in.
“Alright, who’s going to tell me what’s going on?” he said. Kakashi gurgled a little.
“I, ah, okay so...please don’t be upset.” The leather of Sakura’s gloves creaked in protest as she wrung the poor things between her bare hands with perhaps a little too much violence.
“No promises. Go on then.”
The look she gave him was utterly devoid of humor but luckily for his bones she chose not to punish him for trying to lighten the mood. After a few more times wringing her gloves she allowed them to drop to the ground, taking one very deep breath before turning both hands to reveal her palms. One of them was half colored in.
“Look I know he’s your- I know that you two- I didn’t mean to! Genma-san I’ve never seen anything like this! I was just trying to get his attention so I put a hand on his shoulder and I guess I’ve just never touched him skin to skin before and-”
“Woah, calm down, calm down. Don’t start hyperventilating. It’s...you left a...a soulmark?”
All the breath in his lungs whooshed out of him with some indeterminate noise when both Sakura and Kakashi nodded in the affirmative. It felt like suddenly there was no more oxygen left. Distantly Genma could tell that his legs were trembling but he couldn’t be bothered to care about that at the moment, not when everything he’d been waiting so long for was coming true right in front of his eyes.
He didn’t realize how long he stared for until Sakura cleared her throat and he peeked up to see that she looked even closer to flight. Only then did the rest of her words finally sink in and he understood why she didn’t look happier about such an auspicious discovery.
“You idiot!” Kakashi flinched when Genma reached over to smack him on the back of the head. “How many years have you known this girl and you never told her we’ve got another soulmate!?”
“A- a what?” Sakura breathed.
“We- oh sweet chakra farts just give me your hand, here.”
Impatient to seal them all together, Genma didn’t wait for permission to reach over and clasp Sakura’s hand in the one of his own that looked very much like hers, colored in on one half where he’d first touched Kakashi in the same place she had. All it took was a brief press of skin and then he was pulling away to turn his hand over. They still matched, of course, only now they both sported palms entirely covered with the beautiful mix of colors that made up their soulmarks, each half ever so slightly unique to show that they were both bonded to a third. No doubt Kakashi’s mark looked identical and for the space of a single moment Genma thought to pity his first partner that he didn’t have the same ability to just sit and stare at his own mark.
The moment passed quickly. Kakashi was a sappy guy under the front he put up for others but he wasn’t quite that sentimental. Which was good. Sometimes Genma needed a little help tossing out his old ripped clothing because those shirts had been with him through so many missions they almost felt like friends.
“Oh.” The breathy whisper of Sakura’s voice brought him back from whatever tangents his brain had been trying to distract him with. “I...both of you!?”
“Maa, sorry about that,” Kakashi offered sheepishly.
“Don’t be- you- and you- and you think I need you to say sorry?”
“I’ve been chipping away at those self esteem issues for years, trust me. Might be nice to have some help with that.” Genma chuckled to cover his nerves. “Seriously though, you don’t mind do you? We’re both maybe a bit old for you but we’ve been keeping a spot on the couch warm for whenever we found you. If you need some time to think about it that’s okay. Just, ah, just know that, um…”
He was cut off from having to finish that thought by deceptively slim arms throwing themselves around his neck. Genma closed his eyes and reveled in the instant familiarity until Kakashi very shyly pressed himself in from behind and then that was it. They were complete. It would have been impossible to find words to describe the difference but it was there and Genma was just as happy to feel it instead of talking about it. After all this time they had found her, the missing piece in the beautiful puzzle of their bond.
“Who needs time?” Sakura mumbled against his neck. “I’ve got so much to catch up on.”
“Later,” Kakashi insisted very quietly.
It wasn’t hard to guess his meaning. Genma smiled when he felt one of Sakura’s arms tighten around him even as the other let go to reach for Kakashi, all three woven together exactly as they were always meant to be. This, he decided, was one of the better things the universe had created. He might give fate a hard time for all the shit it had thrown at them over the years but it had always been clear to him that this right here, the three of them together, this would always be worth it.

“What am I exactly supposed to be looking at, again?”
You tilted your head to the side and stared at the sheets of paper Kevin handed over to you to read over. He called you and the boys into the library this morning after claiming he had a breakthrough worth sharing. The kid had been working on translating the tablet for days now with almost no breaks at all. He was overly eager with what he claimed was some kind of monumental breakthrough. It was the first update he had in weeks. All of his supposed hard work came in the stack of papers you flipped through to discover it was nothing you were expecting. Pages upon pages filled with what you guessed were doodles and illegible chicken scratch Kevin called his handwriting. This was the progress he had to offer. It made much sense to all of you as the words etched into the stone.
You managed to read a few of Kevin’s notes that offered no clarity to the next step in his work, causing you to worry he didn’t make any real progress at all The boys weren’t happy either at the small ounce of hope Kevin had instilled you with his news. You flipped through all the notes to see if there might have been something useful, but it was all the same. Nonsense. You raised your brow in curiosity as to how this was supposed to help all of you. The demon tablet took months to translate just the trials, unfortunately you didn't have that luxury of time. You needed to undo what Metatron did quickly as possible.
"That's your 'big news',” Sam sounded the least bit enthusiastic at the promise turned into a let down at seeing the prophet's notes that were most likely going to turn out to be useless. “is that you translated the tablet into doodles?"
"It's cuneiform." Kevin tried to explain the long and tedious process of how he managed to get to this point. "I hit a wall translating the tablet into english. But I found an ancient codex linking the angel script to proto-elamite cuneiform, and I was able to translate the tablet and the footnotes into elamite, which is—"
“Doodles.” Dean finished the younger man’s sentence.
“It’s extinct.” Kevin added.
“Well,” You let out a quiet sigh of annoyance from his news that all sounded to be turning out the same way. Bad and pointless to even still be talking about this. You glanced back to the doodles in some kind of attempt to make sense of it. You had an ear for languages. But even you found yourself drawing a blank for what the hell this could even mean. “Can you read it?”
“No one can.” He said. “Scholars have tried for centuries.”
“So it’s a dead end?” You took a wild guess at what this meant for you. You threw the papers to the table in defeat at the continuous walls you kept hitting. It felt with each turn you took to try and get yourself out of this angel mess only turned out the same, time spent wasted and no progress to show for your effort. Kevin wasn’t defeated as you were. He thought there might be a way to keep going with this angle.
“Not quite.” Kevin said. You crossed your arms over your chest to hear what the kid had to say, hoping this conversation turned out to be worth your while. "Now, most proto-elamite is abstract, but I was able to decipher one phrase from Metatron's footnotes. 'Falling angels.'"
You and the boys exchanged a glance to one another at the set of keywords that had started this entire mess in the first place. Maybe you had been looking at this the wrong way. You thought the answer to your problems would be hidden somewhere in the tablet. Words God spoke himself might not have held the information you needed. You wondered if it was hidden somewhere between the lines. Somewhere most would simply ignore.
"Okay, so, the footnotes to Metatron's spell?" Sam asked, wondering if that’s what Kevin figured.
The kid merely shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe.”
You let out a quiet sigh from the little information you had to go on. Sam wasn't about to give up just yet. He decided to take the only lead you had going for all of you. The Men of Letters had enough resources to help. "Well, maybe if we can decipher the footnotes, then we can reverse the spell..." Sam thought out loud a possible plan all of you could follow. He made his way to one of the shelves, pulling out some hardcover books for you to read.
“Punt those winged dicks back to heaven.” Dean said. He slapped his hand against the table in agreement with his brother’s genius idea. Little did he realize what was in store for him. “Where do we start?”
"Research." Sam said, saying his older brother's least favorite word when it came to hunts and solving supernatural problems. He tossed one of the bound books to the table, landing with a rather heavy thud. Dean’s expression of hopefulness slowly fell when he realized there was no getting out of this. "We comb through the library, see if we can find anything else on elamite."
The older Winchester grabbed the book up from the table and read the title out loud. His excitement for the tedious research ahead darkened at the struggle ahead. “Zimmerman's Encyclopedia of Extinct Languages Volume One: Adai to Atakapa.” He frowned. “How many volumes are there?”
“Twenty-four.” You said. You smiled in delight at the sight of his drooping jaw and the failure for any words to come out. You placed a hand under the table and lightly patted his thigh in reassurance. “Don’t worry, babe. We have all of them.”
“Awesome.” Dean muttered. You were going to be no help for him to try and sneak his way out of this one. His brother only scoffed and turned his attention back down at his book when Dean subtly pleaded to have some mercy thrown his way. However it seemed there was someone looking out for him. Dean was saved from a tedious afternoon filled with research when his phone went off. “There is a God.”
You rolled your eyes in slight annoyance at how joyous he sounded at being able to slip out from the responsibility of research. You returned your attention back to the first page of the encyclopedia as Dean tended to the phone call. He wasn’t sure who was trying to get in contact with him. It was always a guessing game when a random number flashed across his screen. Dean answered the call after the second ring and was greeted by a familiar voice he hadn’t heard in weeks, not since the awkward departure that sent Cas back on the road alone. The older Winchester wondered if the guy was calling up to reassure him that everything was okay on his end. Or he was in some kind of trouble.
"I may have a case for you. Four missing in Rexford, Idaho. Presumed dead, but no bodies have been released to loved ones." Turned out it was neither of them. To say it was a surprise upon hearing Cas' voice on the other end discussing a possible hunt was a shocker. Dean jumped up from his seat as the man went on without giving even a simple greeting. "And there were reports of a strange substance at the scenes."
"Oh, well, hello to you too, Cas." Dean whispered to the man over the phone, making sure to keep his voice low enough not to disturb everyone who had been working diligently. He knew the moment you heard Cas' name drop into the conversation you would be all over him in trying to ask questions about the whereabouts of the man and how he was doing. So far you had your nose buried in the book and engrossed with whatever you were reading about to care about who he was talking to. “How are you?”
“I...am busy.” Cas answered.
“All right.” Dean mumbled. He wasn’t sure what to expect from the guy. Cas’ people skills were never the sharpest, despite him being down here on earth for a handful of years and interacting with people. Trying to have a simple conversation with him always ended up with words lost in translation. Dean decided not to try and make small talk and go straight to the reason why Cas called in the first place. “So, how do you want to do this? You want to meet up at the latest scene? You want me to pick you up? What?”
Dean heard something that sounded to be liquid splashing over the other line, making him momentarily confused as to what the hell Cas was up to. "Um. I've got my hands full. I just—um..." Cas was quickly learning that he wasn't able to multitask. "...thought you would want to know about the case."
"Hey, are you sure everything's—" Dean tried to be a good friend and ask the man about his transition to normal life, but he wasn't able to finish his question when he was cut off by a dial tone. He rolled his eyes and ended the call. “Okay.”
You and the boys were no strangers to taking on a case with little to nothing to go on. From what Dean heard, this seemed like something all of you might be interested looking into. It might turn out to be nothing in the end. Or it could very well be a monster. All Dean knew for sure he couldn't ignore it without at least checking it out by himself. He forgot the last time he was able to go on a hunt by himself. But he didn’t see the need for you and Sam to tag along when there was so much reading to be done. He wasn’t sure if it was even a case after all. Whatever it did end up turning out to be, Dean was going to run with it. It wasn’t everyday he got a perfect excuse to get himself out of doing research. Before Dean went on his way to Idaho, he knew all of this was going to raise a few questions.
“So, he said nothing about where he is or what he’s been doing?”
Sam was rightfully confused at the shift in plans after Dean silently excused himself from research only to come back with an overnight bag all packed up and the strap hanging off his shoulder. The younger Winchester was given a brief summary of the conversation Dean had with Cas and nothing much else to go on. He was more caught up with the fact that Cas had given no proper details about his whereabouts and wellbeing. Only about some bogus case Sam personally felt would be better suited in another hunter’s hands.
“In case you forgot, he’s not exactly Chatty Cathy.” Dean said, walking a few steps up the staircase before stopping to face his brother.
“And you’re not even gonna see him when you’re in Idaho?” Sam kept on with the questions to try and understand the man’s eagerness to go through with the trip.
“Well, like I said,” Dean repeated the same excuse he gave you when you found him packing up a bag after you noticed his disappearance from the library. “as long as he’s catnip for angels, he’s keeping his distance.”
“So, then what’s the point, Dean?” Sam called out to his brother as he continued to the top of the staircase and towards the front entrance. “I mean, it’s barely even a case.”
“That’s why I’m just gonna go have a little look-see, and we’re not gonna waste a whole lot of manpower on a big pile of nada.” Dean explained to the two men from top the balcony overlooking the lower part of the bunker. If there was one thing Dean was good at, it was always sneaking his way out of wasting a day on reading some dusty old book.
“In other words, a perfect excuse to bail out on research.” Kevin said, calling out the man on his behavior.
“You got me.” Dean felt the need to sarcastically reply.
Sam and Kevin were left to tend back to the tedious amount of research that was waiting for them back in the library. All though they were short a pair of eyes, not all hope was lost just yet. They thought there was still one more person who could help keep the reading somewhat manageable. Or so they thought.
Dean was the first one to notice you had decided yourself that you weren't going to be part taking in research either. He found himself slowing his walking pace when he discovered your lower half sticking out from the backseat of the Impala. While it was always a lovely sight he enjoyed on almost every occasion, this one made a groan of frustration build up in the back of his throat. He should've known you were going to weasel your way into his plans of taking this hunt. You always did. You got yourself out and into a standing position, one hand rested on the car door and the other on your hip. The smile on your lips made him wonder if even holding a conversation as to how you managed to beat him out here was even worth it.
"You honestly thought you were going to leave without me?" You asked him. Dean tried to open his mouth to give you an answer, you cut him off before he could even breathe. "No way. When's the last time you took a hunt by yourself?"
Dean's face scrunched up at your question, "You don't think I can handle one on my own?"
"I didn't say that. Who says you’re the only one who wants to skip out on research? I really didn't want to spend my time reading eight books on a dead language that might help us translate that stupid tablet." You admitted to him. "Besides, we haven't had any alone time in forever. We can make it a little getaway from Sammy and Kevin."
"I thought you didn't like mixing our dating life with hunts." Dean said. You smiled at the little rule you implemented years ago when you both started going out to make a balance. You walked closer to him so you could wrap your arms around his neck to be near. You looked off into the distance and pretended to think for a second.
“If it is even a case. Might be just something for the cops." You said. “And even if it turns out to be one, we can always add a few more extra days. Tell Sam it's going longer than expected."
Dean pretended himself to think about the plan you hatched up. It didn't take much thought to agree with what you had in mind. He didn't see the harm in letting you tag along, it wasn't like he was going to be around Cas to worry about any winged dicks to make things more complicated. He answered your proposal by leaning down for a kiss before hitting the road. He felt your lips stretch into a smile against his own when he agreed. The man knew deep down you would have come along no matter what he said. This way if trouble got in the way he would be able to keep an eye on you.
+ + +
By the next morning you and Dean made it to Idaho with your first stop at the most recent crime scene that was still swarmed with police. You managed to blend in with the uniformed officers from the federal clothes you changed into before making your way here. The both of you flashed a pair of smiles and fake badges at the officer in charge in exchange for some information. While Dean chatted up the sheriff, you took the chance to snoop around the property of the most recent victim.
It wasn't hard to see his living conditions weren't the best. The rundown house he called a home was in desperate need of repairs, not to mention the grass littered with junk from broken down cars to objects rusting from the elements. Despite the neglect to make the place appear tighty, there wasn’t much anything out of the ordinary from what you could tell. All except for for the strange coating on the front windows that overlooked the property. The bubblegum pink clashed with the clutter and ramshackle home. It felt out of place.
“So, four missing?” You asked the sheriff, making sure to watch your step on the wet grass as you approached the police tape securing off the perimeter.
"Four dead." The sheriff corrected you. "Just got confirmation."
“And any common threads you can think of?” Dean wondered.
You bent over the tape and into the crime scene so you could examine the surroundings a bit better. So far what you could tell was the amount of useless junk lying around the lawn that had been neglected from good mowing for a while. Overgrown grass and weeds helped blend in the things he had kept lying around. It was an eyesore for this neighborhood.
"Well, Joe in there had the suicide hotline on speed dial. The gal before him was a shut-in. Head enough antidepressants in her medicine cabinet to stock a pharmacy." The sheriff gave you a quick rundown. You crossed your arms over your chest and listened to the theory he had, thinking it might help you in the long run later. “The first victims—a married couple out of Sugar City. Pretty much a walking billboard for no-fault divorce.”
“Were they all basket cases?” You asked.
“If you asked me to make a list of this county’s saddest sacks, these four would’ve been right on top.” The sheriff said, giving her own personal opinion.
“All right, so four unhappy people, one of them definitely suicidal.” You summarized all of the information you knew so far at the moment. You passed a quick glance over at Dean when you gave a small shrug from what you had. It wasn't much, but you had a feeling there was more to the story. "But you've ruled out suicide, right?"
The sheriff grabbed a few pairs of what appeared to be rubber gloves from another officer and handed them over to you. You furrowed your brows slightly in confusion when you realized there were also protective booties for your shoes to help from tracking in any dirt into the crime scene. "You're gonna want to put these on."
You and Dean complied with the request and slipped on the protective equipment before entering the home. The sheriff was the first one inside, opening up the door to possibly one of the strangest crime scenes you had seen in a while. You quickly got an answer to why the windows were tinted bubblegum pink, because the entire place was coated in it. You didn’t know what the hell happened that caused the place to make it seem like a can of paint exploded in here. You highly doubt Joe thought some color in his life would help with his depression.
You made sure to watch your step as you entered the home after Dean followed the sheriff, taken back by the strange sight himself. You spotted a forensic investigator crouched down on the ground taking a swab of the pink substance. Right away you noticed a foul smell that caused you to press your wrist against your nose in some kind of attempt to help muffle the odor. It reeked of decomposition, a smell you were unfortunately quite familiar with.
“This look like suicide to you?” The sheriff's question caused you to rethink your theory. You glanced around the place to try and figure out what the substance was. If the police hadn't identified it yet, you wondered if something supernatural might be to blame for this after all. This was starting to feel more like a case after all. Dean took a wild guess when he asked if the substance was blood. “If the tests come back the same as the others, it’s the same as everything. Blood, skin, hair, nails, internal organs, even clothing fibers—like these poor souls got a run through the world’s finest wood-chipper.”
“What about witnesses?” You asked.
“Same as the rest. Neighbors reported some kind of pink flash. By the time we got here, all that was left was…” The sheriff took a sweep of the room and the remains of Joe, something he couldn’t quite explain. “this.”
You and Dean shared a similar expression with one another at what you were learning. The deaths were odd enough for you to keep digging more into what might be the cause of this. People just don't naturally explode without a proper reason why. It seemed Cas found you a legitimate case. What you wondered next was if he was willing to lend in a helping hand.
+ + +
After checking the crime scene and going through the usual suspects, you and Dean were left back at square one to who or what might be to blame for these deaths around town. The both of you decided to find a motel for the remainder of your stay and switch out of your fed clothes for more comfortable ones. You had a tedious amount of research and what you needed the most was a caffeine pick me up for the long night ahead of you.
You decided to make a quick call to Sam to see how his own progress was going with the amount of reading he and Kevin were forced to do on their own after you abandoned them. You felt a little guilty for leaving them high and dry, but it seemed like they were functioning just fine on their own. And it seemed your suspicions had turned out to be right when Sam gave you an update on their progress.
"Yeah, we're almost through the texts over here." Sam said. “We got nothing.”
“Have you tried Professor Morrison?” Dean suggested.
“Yeah, he’s unreachable. He took a sabbatical to live amongst the trobrianders of Papua New Guinea.” Sam explained yet another useless dead end. You furrowed your brow slightly when you overheard what the professor had been doing in his free time. “Needless to say, we’re pretty burnt out.”
“Well, there’s one guy there who is nothing if not well-rested.” You felt the need to remind the younger man of the extra housemate who had been rotting in your dungeon. Sam scoffed at the thought of Crowley helping out. "I'm just saying. We're not keeping him chained up for the one-liners."
“It’s worth a shot, I gess.” Sam said.
"Just be careful, all right?" Dean warned his little brother. "Don't fall for any of his 'quid pro quo' crap."
“Noted. So, what about you guys?” Sam asked, curious as to how progress was going with the hunt you decided to take. “How’s Cas’ lead panning out?”
“Four victims suddenly exploded. We tried EMF. We looked for hex bags, sulfur—nothing.” You ran down the list of the things you had searched for back at the crime scene only to come up empty with no possible leads of where to go next.
“Spontaneous combustion?” Sam took a wild guess. “Maybe the Thule?”
“No, no, no. We already ruled them out.” Dean said. “The bodies were vaporized. They weren’t burned.”
“That sounds like a real case.” Sam was starting to sound worried from how things were starting to shift into something more serious. "Guys, I should be there."
“No, Sammy. That’s not necessary. I’ve got this under control.” You reassured the younger man. "I'll make sure Dean doesn't get into too much trouble. And bug Crowley, see if he knows anything. We'll call you if we hit a dead end."
When Dean said he was going out for a quick stop, you happily tagged along. It seemed Dean had been doing his own research as well. You found yourself making an extra stop after getting some coffee to discover he wanted to check up on Cas to make sure he was doing all right. He tracked the man’s call to a local gas station.
You ended the call shortly after exchanging a quick goodbye with Sam, letting him see if the king of hell might be of use for once. You slipped your phone into your pocket for safekeeping before setting your sights on the reason why Dean wanted to head out besides for coffee. He had been doing his own research while you were getting settled into your motel. It was to track down Cas after their shared phone call the day before. You were happy to know the guy was doing all right. But confused as to as to why he was working the register of the local gas-in-sip.
This entire situation with Cas and his departure from the bunker was strange that left you bothered. Dean held the same excuse when you asked him days after Cas decided to hit the road again. The man had a target on his back with his fellow brothers and sisters. He thought the bunker wouldn't be safe enough to keep you all from the danger. While you were happy to see that Cas was safe and out of harm's way at the moment, you still didn't understand why. Someone was eventually going to find him trying to blend in with the rest of humanity.
"I don't know if I should laugh or cry." You mumbled under your breath.
"It's kind of funny, if you ask me." Dean said.
“Of course you would.” You said, rolling your eyes. “I still don’t get why he ditched us.”
Dean shrugged his shoulders at the answers he couldn’t give to you. He took a sip of his coffee and watched as his friend waited on another customer like he’d been doing this for years. “I’m surprised there’s no one complaining.”
You furrowed your brow in confusion at what you overheard the man mutter into the paper cup. “What?”
"Nothing." Dean replied a little too quickly. He noticed there wasn't an angel taking control and popping out to warn him about letting you go near Cas. So far it was just you staring at him, curious as to what he was hinting around. "Let's go. I wanna play the lotto. Suddenly I'm feeling lucky."
You knew it was Dean's flimsy excuse to go inside the gas-in-sip and ambush your friend at work. You finished the last of your coffee and properly disposed of it in the nearby trash can before following behind the man into the store. You had a few questions you wanted to ask Cas. You weren’t going to leave him alone until he answered them. And to make sure he was truly safe on his own.

After Noir had taken his leave, Sarah took a few steady breaths and managed to put his untouched slice of cake away before collapsing on the couch.
Lightly tracing her knuckles, she laid on the only piece of furniture that hadn’t been left in shambles. The coffee table had been reduced to splinters, and the tv screen had a gaping hole where he’d sunk his knife to the hilt. Nails were stuck in the wall to her right, and she sighed at the thought of having to disable those explosives that hadn’t been triggered during their fight.
I’ll be back.
She sighed, pressing the back of her hand to her lips. God, what would she do.
 [Next day, at Vought Headquarters]
The following day, Noir left his living quarters quite early, a pair of dark brown eyes seared into his mind. He immediately delved into researching information on the latest experimental trials conducted by Vought. He searched and searched, with determined calculation. His eyes traced countless file names, patient numbers, and descriptions… until he found the one he’d been looking for.
He retreated back to his room and settled down, eyes pouring over the damning evidence.
Finally, he stood and left the room.
_ _ _
“All right, folks, how is everyone?”
The Deep started with a small “I’m o—,” but Homelander cut him off, and continued speaking. He didn’t really care, the question had been a pleasantry, an act he had no reason to entertain without an audience.
“—We all know about the break-in that occurred two nights ago while we were at the gala,” he nodded to himself as he slowly paced around the table. “And while our Noir gave it his all, this very dangerous woman played some tricks and is,” Homelander raised a hand in blatant disbelief, “still on the loose.”
Reaching the head of the table once again, he fixed his gaze on each of his team members.
“We also know of the unfortunate release of Compound V to the public, which has generated mixed emotions and alienated a part of our fans,” he paused, disgust pure on his face before he drew his conclusion. “It was her, this delinquent who stole from the archives and spilled to the news.”
The imposing man gripped the back of his chair, “I took this up with Stan Edgar, and he would have me—us, believe that he has it under control, that he’s handling it,” he exclaimed with a small burst of laughter.
Black Noir felt something creep up over his shoulder and settle in his chest: it was dread, a deep-seated sense of foreboding. And knowing what he’d learned that morning, what he’d promised himself, he again found himself conflicted. Focusing on Homelander’s speech, one sentence echoed inside his head: she is good, and he will protect her, she is good, and he will protect her.
“She must be found and swiftly dealt with as she poses a threat to Vought and all Americans,” Homelander announced. “She is obviously powerful if she was able to escape from Noir,” he paused. “I want everyone’s eyes open, and if you find her,” his face lost any sign of pleasantry, morphing with an unidentifiable emotion, “you will come to me first.”
Black Noir knew all too well what that unidentifiable emotions was: it was arrogance and a sense of superiority that underlined the man’s choices, again and again. It was his absolute need to be in the know and at the center of the attention at all times.
Everyone around the table stayed quiet. Maeve was picking at her nails, and Noir was doodling on a piece of paper. The Deep stared at the table’s surface, obviously afraid of the team leader’s mood swings. A-Train sat comfortably, more laid out than anything as he waited for the meeting to end. And Starlight, sitting delicately in her chair, counted down the seconds until she could clear out of the building.
Homelander slammed his palm against the table, “Is that clear.”
All eyes on him, he received a few nods and small acknowledgements.
Starlight tried to maintain her composure, but fear was clawing at her, demanding that she leave the room. She avoided looking at A-Train even though she could feel his gaze burning through her. If America’s favorite superhero found out she, member of the Seven, had leaked Compound V… she wasn’t sure that there’d be anything left of her once he was finished.
The leader of the Seven held his hands behind his back, making him an even more imposing figure.
“Vought is a great big company, our company,” he continued, “And Stan Edgar would have us believe that everything is under control… but he lies. It is not under control. I will find her, and I will end her before she can tear us down.”
His last statement held the finality and decisiveness of a promise.
“Remember, you come to me first,” he repeated, before going to stand by the large, paneled windows. A few seconds later, he glanced back at them.
“Still here?” he asked, suddenly irked by their presence. “Dismissed. Except you Noir, you can stay.”
Noir watched the other team members rapidly stand and leave the room, before letting his gaze fall back on the caped man standing by the windows.
“Noir, I’ll have you know that I trust you a great deal more than anyone else on this team,” he began, “and I trust you the most to gather intel on this Marianna Stacker.”
Sarah, his mind sighed.
“I want weekly updates until we catch her, I want to know who she is, where she lives, who she cares about—everything,” he carefully explained, “I will not have her and her lies destroy everything,” he gestured in general and Noir assumed he meant both the company and his popularity. The darkly suited man lightly rolled his eyes behind the mask but nodded.
He knew better than to anger Homelander. He wasn’t afraid of the maniac, no, he was a safety measure set in place to keep the man in check when the charismatic façade slipped off and revealed the monster beneath. Wasn’t there a saying? That to kill a monster you need a monster? And to do so, he’d rather know what the man was plotting than have to make a calculated guess.
Homelander nodded his head, “We’ll get her Noir.”
Noir stood, nodded, and left.
And Homelander watched him leave, always feeling a surge of respect for the silent superhero.
He turned back towards the windows and watched the busy city unfold beneath him, a murderous glint in his eyes. To hell with Stan Edgar, he was the true center of Vought. Fans called his name, he was their savior.
Finally, he too left the meeting room, deciding to take a stroll through the building..
_ _ _
That day, Sarah had returned to work, deeming a prolonged absence too risky since it could raise all sorts of red flags. She covered up with warm clothes, a pretty scarf wrapped around her neck, and faked a dry cough in the office.
She’d felt a shiver down her spine as she signed in at the front desk and ascended the stairs. Each step heavier than the last, she wondered if they would immediately pinpoint her as guilty. She’d taken sensitive information on one of the most terrible and controversial experimental trials ever: they would be looking for her, and they would employ every method. Her mind strayed to the variable in the equation, the one piece she could not control, the wild card that could make her or break her. Noir. And now that someone else had exposed them for using Compound V on babies to make them into superheroes, Vought was taking a lot of heat from fans, the media, and activists. They’d assume it was the same person who broke into the archives. So, they wouldn’t just be looking for her, they’d be hunting for her, ready to gun her down.
However, she was greeted back into the office with a couple waves and smiles, and everything went smoothly. She’d only been gone for a day, but a couple co-workers asked her about her cough and if she was feeling better. The day before, Martha had reassured a few of them when they’d asked about her so that she’d have an alibi.
And so, time rushed by, and, while she’d calmed down, she felt an inextricable knot in her chest. She was here, hiding in plain sight. And it could work, but only if Noir saw reason, if he questioned his loyalty towards the company and felt any for her.
Soon, it was time to pack up and go back home. She spoke with Martha and waved to a few co-workers before heading down the long hallway to take the elevator. She usually took the stairs, but suddenly preferred the quickest method to leave the building.
After pressing the button to call it up, Sarah stepped back and waited in the deserted hall. She felt, rather than heard a presence grow close. Noir came to stand beside her, seemingly waiting for the elevator himself. She looked at him through her dark lashes and fixed the scarf around her neck. Would this be it? Would he do it here at Vought where they could easily clean up the splatters?
The elevator arrived with a ding and he motioned for her to step in first, him following after. Were there no cameras in the elevators? Was that why he’d chosen this spot?
Noir moved closer to her and she wasn’t sure what to expect. She pressed her back to the elevator wall, feeling that characteristic warmth spread throughout her chest. But he did something surprising by placing his gloved hands on her hips, almost steadying her. He then produced a thin slip of folded paper, which he smoothly slid into one of her pants’ front pocket.
“What are you doing,” she whispered, trying to understand whatever he was trying to tell her.
Suddenly, the elevator dinged once again and slowed to a halt as someone got ready to join them on their way down.
Noir immediately stepped away as though she’d burned him. She soon realized why.
Crimson boots stepped into the small space, and Sarah thought she might suffocate as the doors slid closed. The dark blue suit and American flag taunted her.
Sarah knew what Homelander really was, how the selfishness and arrogance swam just below the surface.
He seemed deep in thought, but whatever trail he’d been following was interrupted by her loud heartbeat. He glanced to the side and saw the beautiful, albeit frazzled, woman in the corner. She stood straight and composed, yet she had a racing pulse.
Noir could also hear it and wished it would slow down to a normal rate. Capturing Homelander’s attention can be a dangerous thing.
She needed to stay hidden in the shadows, blend in with every other person at Vought. He would keep her from harm.
“Ma’am are you all right,” the Seven's leader asked with concern. “I don’t mean to invade your privacy,” he genuinely chuckled, “but I can hear your heart racing, like you're scared.”
Sarah shuffled her feet, “Oh no, I’m all right. I’m not a fan of small, enclosed spaces that’s all.”
He placed a hand on her shoulder, and she suffocated the sudden need to shake it off. Just a few more floors and she’d be stepping off. Just a few more floors.
“Don’t worry, you have the strongest man in the world here, you’re safe.”
She smiled and thanked him before quickly stepping off. She slowed down, not wanting it to seem like she was running away. He’d meant to reassure her, but she could still feel the phantom weight of his hand on her shoulder. Once outside, she made her way home where she was ready to take a long shower and sleep amid her wrecked furniture.
Her fingers itched to touch the slip of paper in her pocket, to discover its meaning. She ultimately decided to read it at home away from prying eyes.
 [Vought Headquarters]
Once Sarah had stepped off the elevator, Black noir and Homelander made no move to follow. The doors closed and the caped man pressed the button for the upper levels.
Noir stilled, and suddenly had the urge to break the other man’s neck. He knew Homelander had seen them close together through the walls, and he realized he should’ve waited to hand her the note at her house.
“I was looking for you,” he spoke up with nonchalance, “and imagine my surprise when I saw you in here with that woman.”
Homelander smirked and slapped his shoulder, “You sly dog, Noir, I didn’t know you had it in you.”
Noir fingers itched to pull a dagger, but he maintained his composure.
“Just keep your head on straight, yeah?”
Homelander straightened and faced forward, “You and me, Noir, we’re above it all—we were made for bigger things,” he cleared his throat, “I don’t want you distracted as we look for Stacker.”
Little did he know that she’d just rode the elevator with him, and never would he have imagined it possible for Black Noir to grow attached and protective of someone.
The elevator doors slid open, and they stepped out going their separate ways.

Just Like the Rain (Wow/Sehyoon) Ch.1
Tumblr media
Title: Just Like the Rain
Pairing: Sehyoon X Suhyun (OC/F)
Genre: Fluff x Romance X a bit of drama
Rating: Any mature content will be marked as such
Word Count: 1044
Writer: AleXing
Part: 1/?
March had finally rolled over, and with it came Cherry Blossom season as well as a new school year.
It had already been a week since school had started which meant there were now less students worrying about making it in time to their first classes or not getting lost in the big campus and more students getting preoccupied with schools projects, homework and hopefully maintaining a social life in the midst of their academic life.
This week also marked the beginning of after school clubs which mean that halls were busier than they had had for the first week.
Suhyun clutched her drawing storage tube to her chest as she made her way between the students that crammed together in the halls, bumping her shoulder with a few students who were heading in the opposite direction of her own club. Despite the still chilly weather outside, the halls felt stuffy and Suhyun could feel a fain layer of sweat begin to form underneath her light blue sweater. She walked for a few more minutes between students narrowly dodging some elbows and feet stepping on her before she finally reached her destination.
The art club's entry was significantly less busy than all the other clubs with only a couple off people going in from time to time. The club was known to be one of the hardest clubs to join given that they usually only accepted 10 new members each school year due to the lack of space. Students had to submit pieces of art at the beginning of the semester in order to apply and only the best 10 were accepted so it was a pretty big deal if you managed to make it.
Suhyun took a deep breath to calm her nerves. She had been dreaming about this day since she had decided to become an architect back in high school and one of her uncles had told her about how successful the members of this club had come to be after they had graduated. She could feel doubt start to creep up into her mind but she quickly shook her head before finally opening the door.
A few students looked in her direction as if they were expecting someone before they went back to their activities, paying no mind to her whatsoever when she made her way towards an empty table.
There were about 15 tables in the room, each of them with two chairs, a significant amount of space between each chair as the tables were big enough to fit large projects. The wall at the back was covered in black chalkboard paint which was now completely full with doodles and scribbles. The rest of the walls were painted beige with big shelves that had been stained by multiple types of paint throughout their years in sue. All types of art supplies sat in the shelves and she couldn't help but let out a soft sigh in awe as she appreciated every single corner of the classroom.
"It's really impressive right?" a soft voice said beside her and that brought her back from her reverie. Her eyes widened the slightest as she looked at the person sitting next to her. His smile was just the same as she remembered from those months back; warms, shy and so beautiful and she couldn't figure out why it felt so familiar despite having seen it only once before.
"Hey" she managed to say, completely disregarding his question as she recovered slightly from the initial shock. She looked away from him for a few second and she found several people glancing in their direction curiously. They seemed to be focused on her new partner but he didn't seem to notices as he was still looking at her, his expression open and friendly.
"I'm sorry, I must have startled you," he said while throwing an apologetic smile her way before tilting his head slightly to the left, tongue sweeping against his bottom lip "I'm not sure if you remember me but I remember you."
Suhyun let out a small chuckle before she offered him a smile and nodded "Yes of course, you left quite a big impression" she said softly almost to herself.
The male smiled even brighter, his eyes crinkling at the corners making them look a bit like half moons. It made him look younger and she couldn't stop but return it before shyly looking down of her hands, her fingers playing with a piece of string that was hanging out from the hem of her shirt.
The atmosphere between them became quiet as they were both struggled to find something else to keep the conversation going and after a few minutes had passed, Suhyun decided to ask him for his name.
"Ah right" he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck before offering his free hand for her to shake, "I'm Kim Sehyoon." She gently wrapped her hand in his before shaking it it "Lim Suhyun, " she said simply before releasing his hand from her hold.
They had gone back to their semi-akward silence before she decided to ask him what had been on her mind since that day they had met back in high school. No matter how many times she thought about it, she couldn't think of a single valid reason for what had happened and having him in front of her again only intensified her curiosity.
She looked over at him and he had busied himself with a small notepad and pen, drawing what looked like a flower mindlessly. She then cleared her throat to catch his attention and once he was looking at her she leaned forward, as much as her chair allowed, and asked "Why did you do that back then?" At this point Sehyoon had mimicked her stance, also leaning over towards her, making it seem like they were sharing a secret even though nobody was really paying attention to the anymore.
Sehyoon took a deep breath and opened his mouth to explain but he was cut off by the sound of the door opening, revealing their art professor.
He called for everyone's attention and Sehyoon shot her an apologetic look while mouthing a later before they both turned their attention to the front.

“Hmm.”  Kagami’s brow furrowed as she stared at Nino’s Operation: Totally Swank Party binder.  The two of them sat on a bench in the park, where she had agreed to meet him after slipping away from her fencing lesson.  “Bribing the bodyguard is a proven technique.  Get me a list of action figures his collection is missing, and I’ll have them by tomorrow.”
“Way ahead of you, dude.”  Nino tore a piece of notebook paper out.  He’d done his research last night after a long phone call with Adrien.  “Glad I can count on you.”
“Of course.”  She neatly folded the paper and slipped it into her jacket pocket.  “I’ll have them shipped to your apartment.  Do you have a plan to dispose of his babysitter?”
Nino sighed and flipped to the page with a doodle of Nathalie with horns at the top.  It was a much more tentative outline than what he’d prepared to deal with the Gorilla.  Hopefully Kagami would be able to help him with that.
“Nathalie’s whole job is to suck out all the fun in my bro’s life.  We’ll never be able to throw this party with her in the picture.”
He’d tried the past three years.  From Hawkmoth transforming him into the Bubbler, to Nathalie locking him in a closet, to Gabe himself nearly arresting him for trespassing, each had been a total bust.  At this point Adrien probably wasn’t expecting Nino to try.
But Adrien was his best bro.  Nino would never give up on throwing him the most poppin’ party ever.
Plus, this year, he had a secret weapon.  One that even Kagami didn’t know about.
“You seem quite prepared.”  Kagami squinted at the page.  “You’re sure Max can play his part?  The Agrestes use my mother’s security technology.”
“Positive.  He and Markov can hack anything.”
Max had already wired into the speaker system last time they threw a party for Adrien.  Of course, on Adrien’s birthday, the mansion would be too obvious a target.  That’s why the plan just required getting his bro out of the house altogether.
“I’ll trust you, then.  What exactly is my role?”
Nino grinned, placing a hand on her shoulder.  “You, my good bro, will be sneaking Adrien away from his fake fencing lessons.  Adrien says you’ve done it a thousand times, and his pops still barely knows who you are.  You’ve got like, some kind of invisibility superpower.”
“I simply have practice.  That’s all.”  She took his pen and began making notes in his binder.  “Nathalie will realize we’re gone approximately forty-five minutes after we leave.  The Gorilla has set patrol routes for finding Adrien when he goes missing, which I can map out for you.”
“If he takes the bribes, that shouldn’t be a problem.”
Kagami was already sketching out a map of the city on a clean sheet of paper.  Geez, how did she remember all that?  He doubted he could even draw the path from his apartment to Alya’s.
“I don’t want to take any chances.  We cannot fail Adrien.  Do you have a venue reserved already?”
“Huh?”  Nino scratched under his hat.  Kagami was pretty rad, but it was hard to follow her train of thought sometimes.  “Oh, right! I was thinking the hotel.  Now that Chloé’s not a total jerk—”
“No.  Too obvious.  Nathalie will find us within the hour.”  Kagami frowned and tapped the pen against the back of her hand.  “The ice rink will be our best option.  It’s out of his bodyguard’s patrol zone, and it can accommodate all of Adrien’s friends.  We hid there all the time when we were dating, and no one ever found us.”
“Sure, sure, there’s just one problem.”  He grinned nervously and tapped his fingers together.  “I, uh, don’t know how to skate.”
Kagami tilted her head and.  “Really?  No matter.  His birthday is twenty-one days away.  You have plenty of time to learn.”
Over her shoulder, he watched her write “Teach Nino to ice skate” in her crisp print.
“Uhh… well, I guess that works.”  Hopefully everyone else knew how to skate already, or they could just enjoy the food and cake from the seats surrounding the rink. Nino could technically do that too, but he didn’t want to miss hanging out on the ice with his best bro.
“I’ve seen you parkour with Alya.  You seem like you’ll learn quickly.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”  Nino chuckled.  “Just get ready to watch me starfish out there.”
Her lips pursed thoughtfully.  “If it proves too difficult for you, I can try to find a backup location.  I doubt one exists that will fit everyone you’ve listed, though.”  She flipped back to the guest list, which included all of their classmates from the last few years, Adrien’s whole fencing team, and a few other friends like Luka and XY.  Pretty much everyone Adrien had ever interacted with was on the list.
Except for one special guest, but Nino had left her out on purpose.
“No, no, it’ll be fine!  I’m just joking, dude.”
“Oh.”  Her face pinked a bit.  “How are we going to deliver the invitations without alerting Nathalie or Adrien’s father?
“I’ve started planning that too.”  Nino flipped forward a few pages.  “The most important guests—ones who aren’t gonna snitch on us—will get their invites a week in advance.  The rest will get theirs by text on the day of.  If they can’t come, they can’t come.”  It was the best solution he’d been able to come up with.  He was sure that even if people did have plans, most would drop them for a chance to party with Adrien Agreste.
“Hmm.  It still feels too obvious.  The fencing team in particular may give us up.”  She frowned before scratching a few names off the list.  Well, she was on the team herself; she would know better than anyone who could be trusted.  “You’re right though.  This does seem like the best plan.”
Nino grinned.  One nice thing about Kagami was that when she gave a compliment, he knew it was sincere.  If she agreed with his birthday plan, then it was as close to foolproof as it could be.
“Sweet.  I think that covers everything for now.”
“A very productive planning session.”  Kagami nodded before holding out her fist.
Nino laughed and bumped knuckles with her.  After a year of hanging out with him and his bro, Kagami was finally getting the hang of fist bumps.
“Meet me at the ice rink at eighteen hundred on Saturday.  We’ll begin your lessons then.”
She closed the binder and handed it back to him, then stood and walked away.
“Skating lessons with Kagami, huh…”
This was either going to be a legit time, or he was going to make a total idiot of himself.
XXX
“Come on, Nino, you’ve got this!”  Alya called encouragement as she and Marinette lapped him again.  He frowned at their backs.  How was it that even Marinette, certified clumsiest girl in Paris, could be a better skater than him?
“Focus, Nino.”  Kagami snapped her fingers.  She stayed near him, slowing her pace even though she could’ve skated rings around him.  “Your girlfriend’s praise will only become reality if you practice proper technique.  Keep your weight centered.”
“Right, right.”  He pushed off from the handrail and tried not to flap his arms.  This time, he made it a solid twenty seconds before he slipped and went skidding across the ice.  His hat slid off in the opposite direction, but Kagami quickly retrieved it.
“Don’t try to go so fast.  Catching up to Marinette and Alya isn’t your goal.”  Kagami’s advice was blunt, but helpful.  Nino didn’t mind her getting to the point.  He knew his skating needed work, and no matter how many times he fell, she didn’t lose patience with him.
It was nice that Alya was so far ahead, honestly.  It meant she didn’t see him look like a total dorkasaurus every time he fell.
I’m doing this for Adrien, he reminded himself each time.  He didn’t need to be a pro skater.  He just needed to be able to stay upright.
“You make it look so easy.”  He frowned as Kagami glided backwards.
“I’ve been skating since I was six.  It makes a relaxing hobby.”
He snorted.  “How is anything about this relaxing?”
“Hmm.  Perhaps you’re thinking too hard.  It makes you hesitate, place your weight incorrectly.  You’re a musician, aren’t you?”
“Huh?  Yeah, you know I’m DJ-ing for the party.” He had no clue why Kagami was asking, though.
“Skating has a rhythm.  Maybe you’ll feel more comfortable timing your strides with music.”
He tapped his chin.  “Y’know… that’s not a half bad idea.”
“Not half bad?  Does that mean only half is good?”
“No, no, the whole idea’s good!  It’s just an expression.”
He slipped his headphones over his ears and picked one of the slowest songs on his playlist.  It was a waltz in ¾ time; hopefully that wouldn’t trip him up.
“Alright, here goes.”
He took a deep breath and pushed off from the wall.
One-two-three, one-two-three.  The music was smooth as the ice under his skates.  Kagami kept pace with him, smiling as he counted the beats under his breath.
Something about it did feel different.  Maybe it was that he stopped overthinking; maybe it was just the magic of music.  Either way, he went the whole six-minute song without falling on his butt.
“Not half bad.”  Kagami smiled.  “...Did I use that right?”
“Heck yeah, dude.”  They fistbumped.
“Way to go Nino!”  Marinette gave him a high five as she and Alya caught up.
“Thanks for teaching my boyfriend, Kagami.  I owe you one.”
“You owe me nothing, Alya.”  Kagami’s cheeks turned red.  “We’re all working together to ensure Adrien’s birthday is perfect.  Teaching Nino is just one step in that plan.”
“Well, I still think it’s really cool of you.  Oh!  And speaking of the party, my mom says she can cater.  I’ve already sworn her to secrecy.”
“Awesome!  What about you, Marinette?” Nino took his headphones off to better hear the conversation, but his legs still knew what to do.  “Are you gonna get Adrien a totally rad birthday cake or what?”
“Yeah, absolutely!”  She nodded.  “I’ll just have to drop it off before the party.”
“You’re still sure you can't come, girl?”  Alya asked her.
“No, sorry.  I promise I would if I could, but I—I’ve already made a commitment.  But I’ll have the cake here on time, I swear!”
“And one of his fifty birthday presents, right?”  She nudged Marinette with her elbow.  Marinette nearly fell, but Nino wasn’t sure if that was from Alya’s bump or her words.
“I—I don’t have those anymore!”  Her shoulders slumped.  “It turns out, planning presents fifty years in advance works a lot better if you can see the future.  They’re all out of style by now.”
Alya laughed at that.  Nino couldn’t help noticing that Kagami had gone silent, though, her gaze locked on the ice in front of them.
“Something wrong, bro?”  He asked her.
She shook her head.  “Adrien’s party won’t be perfect if Marinette isn’t present.  I thought she of all people would understand how much she means to him.”
Marinette gasped.  “I… I’m sorry, Kagami.  Adrien does mean the world to me, and… I promise, I’ll make it up to him.”
Nino was forced to stop as Kagami grabbed the handrail and locked eyes with Marinette.  Some kind of silent conversation seemed to pass between them.  He looked to Alya for help, but she just shrugged.  By now he thought he’d understand the girls, but maybe some things would always be a mystery.
“See that you do.  He deserves that much.”
This wasn’t some kind of love triangle over Adrien again, was it?  Kagami had stayed good friends with all of them after she and Adrien broke up.  Marinette was probably still crazy in love with him, but that was nothing new.
“It’s okay, dudes.  The party’s still going to be perfect.  I’ve got a special surprise planned for our favorite bro.”
He winked at Alya, who grinned back.  She’d been the one to help him pull it off.
“A surprise?”  Marinette clapped her hands together at the same time Kagami raised an eyebrow.
“I didn’t factor any surprises into our plans.  Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
“It’s not much of a surprise if everyone knows, is it?”  Nino said.  “But you’re right, I should have told you, Kagami.  I just wasn’t sure if it would be awkward for you, knowing who Adrien’s crushing on now and all…”
“It’s not an issue.  Adrien is a wonderful friend.  That is more than enough for me,” Kagami replied.
“Adrien’s... crushing on someone?”  Marinette asked, her eyes wide.
Oops.  Kagami might have taken it well, but Nino should’ve waited until Marinette was gone.
“What’s the scoop, babe?”  Alya raised her eyebrow, and Nino threw his hands in the air.
“I thought you already knew!  Why do you think we worked so hard to get Ladybug to show up for his party?”
Marinette caught hold of the hand rail before her legs slipped out from under her.
“Adrien has a crush on Ladybug?”
“Oh.  That’s all?”  Kagami asked.  “I’ve known that for months.”
“You have?”
“Was it supposed to be a secret?  He keeps posters of her in his fencing locker.”
Marinette still looked like she was blue screening.  Alya glared at Nino, and he gave a nervous smile.  What was he supposed to do?  Kagami had a point; the dude wasn’t exactly subtle.
“Anyway.”  He coughed.  “Our bro likes Ladybug, and she’s coming to his party, so he’s going to have a totally cash money time.”
“Cash money?  You’ve been hanging out with Luka and XY too much, babe.”
Marinette giggled at that.  She got her feet back under her, and they started skating in unison again.  So… she wasn’t that upset?  Whew.
“Oh, speaking of XY, I gotta get him here to help set up the special effects,” Nino said.  “I already got permission from Phillipe.  We’re going all out, courtesy of the actual cash money Kitty Section and XY’s last collab made.”
“How did we end up friends with so many rich people?”  Alya mused under her breath.
“It sounds like the plan is in motion, then,” Kagami said.
“Yeah, it’s going to be perfect!  Adrien will love it.”  Marinette grinned.  “Thank you two for putting all this together.”
“Anything for my best bro.”  Nino shot her finger guns.
“He deserves a party worthy of his friendship,” Kagami added.
And he was going to get one.  This year, of all years, Nino refused to let anything go wrong.
XXX
Three weeks later, on the night of September twenty-first, Nino paced the blue chairs surrounding the perimeter of the ice rink.  His friends wove between the chairs, setting up tables of food and games.  His turntables were already in place at the head of the rink, and XY was hooking them up to the speaker system.
“Nathalie’s schedule?”  Nino asked as he passed Max.
“Hacked and adjusted.”  Max flashed a thumbs up.
“Great job, dude.”  He clapped him on the shoulder before moving on to Rose and Juleka’s station.
“Presents?”
“Stacked and organized!”  Rose saluted.
“Sweet.  Make sure to leave some extra space, there’ll be more where those came from.”  He continued his path to where Chloé was lounging in a chair and scrolling through her phone.
“Chloé, status report.”
“No trace of Adrikins on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or YouTube.”  She flipped her ponytail.  “You should check your tone, though.  I’m not some peon you can just order around.”
“Right.”  He rolled his eyes.  Classic Chloé.  At least she was taking her job seriously, though.  “Thanks for all your hard work.”
“You’re welcome.”  She smirked.
Her job was one of the most important.  If the media caught wind of Adrien’s location, the party would have to split before he even got here.  To prevent that, Max had jammed the wifi and cell service so that only his computer, Chloé’s phone, and Nino’s phone had wifi.  If anyone wanted to post about the party on social media, they’d have to wait until after it was over.
Everything was looking perfect.  There wasn’t much else to do but wait for updates from Kagami.
19:00.  Arrived at the court.  No sign of Adrien.
19:04. Adrien has arrived.  Bodyguard bribed and driving away.
19:05. En route to ice rink.  Adrien was suspicious, but believed my excuse of buying him birthday orange juice.
Nino shook his head with a smile.  How did Kagami type all that without Adrien noticing?  At least everything seemed to going smoothly on her end, too.
He started pacing again.  According to Kagami, a casual stroll from the school to the ice rink took twenty minutes.  It was longer than Nino wanted to wait, but the location had to be far enough away to avoid notice.
His phone beeped again.  He unlocked it to see a selfie of Kagami and Adrien smiling wide, though Adrien was practically unrecognizable in the oversized hoodie and bright blue wig Kagami had borrowed from Juleka.
Alya’s chin rested on Nino’s shoulder.  “Aww, look at them.  All grown up and ready to rebel.”
“Psh, Kagami’s been rebelling for ages.  Adrien could still learn a thing or two from her.”
“Oh look, she sent another one!”  Alya clicked his phone.
In this photo, the two of them were pulling funny faces.  Adrien stuck out his tongue, while Kagami puffed out her cheeks and gave him bunny ears.
Nino laughed and put an arm around his girlfriend.  “We did a great job with them, didn’t we?”
“Absolutely.”  She smiled before zooming in on the background.  “Looks like they’re in front of the parking lot.  They’ll be here any time now.”
Sure enough, Kagami texted, 19:25. Two minutes away.
“Right!”  Nino gave her cheek a quick kiss before running to his turntables.  He snatched up the microphone, and his voice blasted through the speakers.  “Alright, dudes!  Adrien’s about to walk through those doors, so everyone hide!”
Their friends dove behind tables and chairs.  All of them except XY, anyway.
“What’s the point, dude?  He’s gonna see all our sick lights.”  XY pointed to the laser lights next to the turntable.
“That’s why we switch them off,” Luka said, pressing the button.  The rink fell into darkness.
“Ohhhh.”
Nino pulled the two of them under the table with him just before the double doors opened.

Can I get uhhhhh, baku x reader with so secret flirting from bakugou and the reader is like scared and everyone around them are like questioning, probably leads to a date with bakugou trying to be more open,. Thanks In advance
~ So this was a wack one to write because I had zero motivation. I honestly am not in love with this but I knew if I kept trying to fix it, I’d only make it worse. So I hope I didn’t do too awful with this. ~
Today was like any other training day. The class was training for a hostage situation. You and Mina were the villains while Bakugou and Kaminari were the heroes. You agreed to stay back with the hostage, Asui, while Mina went to scout out the rest of the building.
“I feel kind of bad for this.” A small laugh escaped your lips as you tied her to her chair and put the gag in her mouth. She only gave you a small shrug in response. You weren't supposed to be talking to her but you couldn’t help it. It was so boring to just sit there and wait while Mina was doing all the fun work. As time passed on, you plopped down on the ground next to Asui, assuming you weren’t going to see any action. You were wrong.
The sound of an explosion filled your ears as the only door in and out of the room flew off its hinges. You didn’t have enough time to react before Bakugou had you pinned to the ground. You totally fucked up. If you had been standing, you could have at least put up a good fight but here you were squirming around on the ground underneath him. Your face turned bright pink realizing who was on top of you. You prayed that All Might would call off the exercise. It was obvious that you and Mina had lost the fight.
“Hey, dumbass, how are you going to free the hostage if you have to keep me pinned down?” You raised your eyebrow, looking up at his face. He had your hands pinned above your head and was straddling your waist, putting all of his weight on you. Your face scrunched up as you glared at him, getting annoyed that you were stuck in this position. If it were a different situation then maybe you wouldn’t be upset, but right now all of your classmates could see you in the observation room.
“Stop that.” He grumbled and looked up at where the door used to be, waiting for his teammate. His eyes returned to your face. “Your face is so stupid…. So stupidly perfect.” His voice was so quiet that you weren’t sure if you had heard him correctly. You glanced over to Asui to see if she had heard what he said. Your face quickly became a dark crimson color when you looked back at the boy.
~  ~  ~  ~  ~  ~
Your classmates began to notice that ever since that day you tried your best to avoid Bakugou. If you couldn’t avoid him, it was almost certain that your face would turn as red as a cherry. No one was able to figure out what he had said to you that day but they continued to attempt at putting the puzzle pieces together. It proved to be difficult. They didn’t expect Bakugou to be the type of person to flirt.
You were sitting at your desk, doodling on a scrap piece of paper. This was the only place that you couldn’t get away from Bakugou in. His desk is right behind yours, making it impossible. He hadn’t managed to corner you earlier in the day and you planned to keep it that way. However while in the middle of coming up with a plan on how to avoid him during lunch, a pair of familiar hands came into your field of vision. Bakugou was leaning in close to your face, only a few inches away. You were terrified that he might kiss you. He was attractive but he scared the hell out of you.
“You’re an airhead.” His tone was harsh but his voice was barely above a whisper. “I like that about you.” Bakugou kept this up for weeks. Whenever you were cornered, he would insult you then follow it with a compliment. The whole situation confused and scared you. You had no idea what his actual intentions were. Was he just screwing around with you?  Was he trying to get in your head? Or did he actually like you?
“Y/N?” A hand grabbed onto your shoulder as you were trying to enjoy your lunch in peace. Your gaze followed the hand up to Mina’s face. You almost groaned. Of course, he was sending the people that hung around him to do his dirty work now. “What’s going on between you and Bakugou? Everyone is dying to know.” Her puppy dog eyes made you feel guilty. The guilt didn’t stop you from being suspicious.
“What do you mean?” You furrowed your eyebrows together trying to figure out if this was some messed up plan of Bakugou’s. If Mina was in his group, then why didn’t she know.
“Well ever since the hostage training, you’ve been avoiding him and any time he talks to you, you turn bright red! And we all saw how red you were when he had you pinned on the ground. So we want to know if you guys are together. Or do you like him?” Mina beamed and folded her arms across her chest. Everyone at your table leaned in closer to hear your answer. They were all curious about your situation. You weren’t sure if you should answer honestly or not.
“Why do you want to know?” You tilted your head to the side, trying your best to get more information from her. You didn’t want to screw yourself over by falling for a trap if it was one.
“We’re just curious! You have to tell us! Are you guys dating? What has he been saying to you?” Mina’s excitement only grew. Your cheeks became very hot.
“I-It’s nothing. He’s only been insulting me.” You didn’t lie but you also didn’t tell the whole truth. You got up from your seat. “I’ve got to go.” You walked briskly out of the dining area before anyone could stop you. You didn’t know what was going on between Bakugou and you. And why anyone would want to be involved in it flabbergasted you.
You were pulled to a stop and pinned against the wall in the hallway. Your hands were being held above your head. The position feeling oddly familiar. You glanced up to see who was holding you in your place. It was like an instant flashback when you saw his face. Bakugou’s hot breath brushed against your skin as he leaned in close to your ear.
“You are so damn cute today.” His gruff voice whispered in your ear. You were glad that you two were the only ones in the hallway. You did not want anyone to see you like this.  “I’m going to have to punch you in the face or else I’m going to be kissing you in under a minute.” That finally pushed you over the edge. You were sick of the bullshit you had to go through to avoid him and the stupid insults.
“Are you trying to fuck me or fight me?” You growled and pulled your hands out of his grip. The change in your attitude shocked the boy. It only lasted a moment before a smirk formed on his lips.
“I can do both.” He winked at you before walking away. You took that moment of alone time to cover your face with your arms and scream into your sleeves.
~  ~  ~  ~  ~  ~
The rest of your day was spent thinking about the last thing Bakugou had said to you. Did he want to fuck or did he want to fight? Why did he say he could do both? Has he always been this confusing? Did you want to fight or fuck him? He was quite attractive. However, he pissed you off all the god damn time. He was annoying and arrogant. You would have thought it all night, staring at your ceiling while lying in bed, if a note hadn’t been slipped under your door. You stared at the paper on the floor for a few moments, deciding that maybe you should read it. You lazily dragged yourself out of bed and to where the note laid on the ground. ‘Meet me outside. 10:30’ The handwriting was sloppy like the note had been written in a hurry. You glanced at the clock. 10:27. You had three minutes to get down there. You quickly pulled on a jacket not bothering to change out of your pajamas. You had an idea of who had slipped the note under your door. You were positive that if it was who you thought it was, it was going to be the night you and Bakugou got in a real fight.
Bakugou was waiting impatiently outside the front doors at the bottom of the steps. He had finally told Kirishima about what was going on. Even though he was trying to flirt with you, he kept scaring you off. After laughing at the blonde for being so stupid, Kirishima suggested that he take you out on a date and just tell you how he really felt. However, no matter how many times he’d try to talk to you after running into you in the hallway, you’d just runoff. It made it impossible to talk to you so he tried sliding a note under your door.
His head snapped up at the sound of the doors opening. You shuffled out and shut the door behind you. A small smile tugged at his lips when he noticed that you were still in your pajamas. The way you looked gave him butterflies but he just thought that he was starting to feel sick
“Hey, idiot.” He muttered and turned away from you. “Follow me.” He kept a quick pace, not allowing you anytime to catch up. You had no idea where you were going and that fact scared you.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” Bakugou’s voice wasn’t very reassuring. He was leading you further and further away from the dorms. It felt like you had been walking forever. The sight of Ground Beta came into view, making you more sure that he was going to fight you.
“Look Bakugou, I really do not want to fight you.” You grabbed his wrist and stopped him before he could walk through the gate. “We can just back to the dorms, I’ll throw on some bandages, and you can just say that you won.” You sighed, tiredness filled your mind. This was crazy. You looked up at his face to see if you had changed his mind. It seemed as though he was blushing but it was too dark to tell.
He pulled away from your grasp. “You’re such a dipshit. I’m not going to fight you.” He grumbled. “Now will you just be quiet and follow me for a little bit longer?” You reluctantly followed him as he weaved his way between the buildings. If he wasn’t going to fight you then why the hell would he bring you to Ground Beta. It wasn’t long until Bakugou stopped in front of a building and held the door open for you.
“What the hell is going on?” You inquired not liking where this was heading.
“Tch. You really don’t know how to shut those pretty lips of yours do you?” His words were harsh but they still manage to make you flustered. You followed behind him up the stairs of the building. You were kind of upset that he made you walk up so many flights of stairs this late at night. The sight on the roof made up for the slight work out. There was a blanket laid out along with a wide array of pillows. Snacks were set off to the side of the blanket.
“Is this a joke?” Your question obviously pissed Bakugou off. You just couldn’t believe that this hothead could pull something like this together. It was too sweet. Too romantic.
“No! It’s a date, you idiot!” He raised his voice and glared at you for only a second. “Look I really like you. So would just lay with me and watch the stupid stars?” He let out a frustrated sigh, his voice much softer now. You couldn’t take him seriously though.
“You... You like me?”
He groaned. “Isn’t that what I just said?” His angry tone made you laugh. Instead of saying anything, you sat on the blanket and patted the spot next to you. Bakugou hesitantly sat next to you.
“You’re such a dork.” You smiled as you laid on the pillows, staring up at the night sky. The stars shined bright enough to illuminate the rooftop. “I like you too but you scared me. It was terrifying to be insulted by you.”
“Well if you weren’t such an idiot, you would have realized I was flirting.” He uttered and laid down next to you. Neither of you had anything else to say. The pleasant silence filled the air as you two laid there. Bakugou’s fingers brushing against yours.
“Just hold my hand.” Your voice was soft as you grabbed his hand. Both of you spent the rest of the night sharing snacks and watching the stars. It didn’t take long for the two of you to fall asleep. Neither of you woke up in time for class the next morning. It didn’t matter much though. In fact, you were kind of glad that you both ended up being put on house arrest.

Javid story where Davey is slowly going blind and Jack is determined to show david all the beautiful things in his life
When Davey was little, his eye doctors had been hopeful that his vision wouldn’t get too bad. As he got older, they got less hopeful, and by the time he was twenty, they’d told him he’d probably be unable to see anything more than light and dark by the time he was thirty.
He met Jack when he was twenty-five and had to wear glasses as thick as his thumb to be able to see. He was an aspiring writer, somehow making a living in journalism while working on a book he hoped he could publish someday.
Jack was an artist who’d suddenly made it big with one sale nobody could have predicted.
At first, Davey was worried his vision had gotten worse since he woke up when he saw the painting in question. The colors were nice, but the shapes were hard to make out and honestly he had no idea how it was supposed to be a cityscape, though that’s what the label called it.
He hadn’t realized he’d already found the artist when he’d said that out loud and the person standing next to him started laughing out loud.
“You know, I almost didn’t put this one up for sale. I painted it in two hours at three am. I like the others much better, but hey, if you have enough money only ugly is worth it.”
Jack was much closer to a work of art than the painting they were standing in front of, in Davey’s opinion. He was dressed up for the occasion, some fancy gala hosted by the person who bought his painting, and he looked like he fit right in with the crowd around them. When he laughed, he threw his head back, and his hair quickly escaped the styling he’d obviously spent time on and left him with curls falling in his face no matter how many times he pushed them away. His smile took over his entire face, making it easy to picture where the creases would form as he aged, and he never stopped moving. His hands fluttered when he talked, and when they ended up sitting next to each other near the end of the night, he was constantly tapping his fingers or jogging his leg. He was easy to talk to. Funny. Charismatic.
Easy on the eyes, too.
Davey had always looked at his vision loss philosophically. He might have been going blind, but he’d had plenty of years to see things, and he’d chosen and was enjoying a career that he didn’t really need sight for. There were people who had it worse, and he had managed to stay pretty content with his lot in life.
But he was glad he got to see Jack Kelly.
Jack seemed glad to see him too, if their conversation was anything to judge by.
Jack made a joke, and reached out to brush Davey’s hair away from his face. Jack listened to what Davey had to say, and leaned in close in a way that could be excused by the noise around them but just a little bit closer than necessary.
And when the party was finally dying down, which Davey was surprised to notice since he’d been planning on leaving long before most people, Jack extended his arm and an offer to walk Davey home.
And like something out of a movie, or a scene Davey would never write into a book because it just seemed too cheesy, Jack kissed him outside his apartment’s door. There was a florescent bulb flickering overhead, and Jack gently cupped Davey’s cheek and stayed so close when he pulled back that Davey could feel his breath, and then squeezed Davey’s hand before letting go.
He put his number in Davey’s phone with a heart-eyes emoji and responded immediately when Davey texted him.
And dating Jack Kelly was the easiest thing in the world.
He hadn’t quite expected it to be, the first time Jack had asked if he wanted to go out. He’d kind of expected it to be awkward and weird and probably to fizzle out after a couple of dates. And instead, Jack asked Davey on a first date and it was to a planetarium and Jack whispered facts the program didn’t include into Davey’s ear. He held Davey’s hand and took him for ice cream while the sun was setting. They walked the High Line and Jack picked a flower and tucked it into Davey’s shirt pocket.
“You know, I forgot that I’m lactose intolerant,” Jack said thoughtfully, looking down at the last bite of his ice cream cone. After a second, he shrugged and popped it into his mouth. “Oh well.”
“Oh, well?”
“I’ll take a pill when I get home. Ice cream is too good to live without, you know.” He smiled and took Davey’s hand again, both of their fingers sticky from melted ice cream.
They dated for almost two months before Davey fully explained his eyesight.
Jack didn’t do the annoying thing a lot of people did where he suddenly started treating Davey differently, or throwing Davey a pity party he didn’t ask for.
Davey knew he would be blind eventually. He’d known that for a long time, and he was used to it.
Instead, Jack asked a couple of questions about it, and then he asked one Davey had thought about a lot but never been asked by anybody else.
“What do you want to see?”
“What do you mean?”
“You have time, right? So what do you want to see before you can’t?”
Davey listed off a few places, a few sights that had always been on on his bucket list, and Jack hummed thoughtfully, and then their conversation had moved on and Davey pretty much forgot about it.
Until he found an envelope slid under his door with a hastily written note covering a little doodle obviously done by Jack.
I wanted to see your face but I had to literally run but I know you’ll be home soon so happy Start of Jack’s Grand Plan.
Davey opened the envelope not exactly sure of what to expect. A clue to a scavenger hunt, maybe. A sweet drawing, a longer note, something small and sweet and romantic, the type of gesture Jack loved to give.
There wasn’t any kind of note. Not a single doodle in sight, other than the one on the envelope which Davey was pretty sure was somebody feeding the pigeons in the park.
Davey opened the envelope and pulled out two plane tickets.
Round trip, three days and two nights, from JFK to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.
And under the tickets in the envelope was printed off receipt for a two night stay in the Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon.
And then there was a small piece of paper with a list of places with a bold strikethrough cutting through “Grand Canyon” at the top with a bunch of other places listed underneath.
Five minutes into reading and rereading the tickets and the room receipt over and over again, Davey’s phone rang with the ringtone Jack had picked for himself (a frankly very strange cover of Never Gonna Give You Up that made everyone do a double take when it rang in public).
“Hey! I wanted to wait for you but Crutchie called and said he was having an emergency.” Davey could hear the smile in Jack’s voice and also Crutchie yelling something about fresh baked cookies very much warranting the emergency label Jack Kelly they needed to be enjoyed warm. “Do you like it? They’re far enough out that I can move them if the dates don’t work, but I’m pretty sure they do.”
“Jacky…I…you can’t-“
“Already did. Davey, I sold a painting for enough money that I bought an apartment. In Manhattan. And then I sold another painting for even more money. I want to spend it on something good. And you’re good. Plus, I get to go too. It’ll be wonderful, Davey darling, and you can’t convince me otherwise.”
Davey heard Crutchie say something to Jack and Jack laugh in response.
“Crutchie says if you don’t go he’ll go in your place and that would be weird because we’re brothers so you have to go.”
Davey laughed back.
“And you know you want to see the Grand Canyon. And it’ll be fun to get away for a little while. And-“
“Okay, okay, Jack, I’ll go with you.”
“We’ll hash out the details later, then. Love you, Davey, but more cookies came out of the oven three minutes ago and if I don’t start eating them soon Crutchie might murder me and that would spoil everything, now wouldn’t it?”
So they went to the Grand Canyon for the first week of April, and it was absolutely wonderful. Jack was wonderful, the trip was wonderful, and the view was wonderful and everything was wonderful.
And two months after that, Jack handed him a birthday card and inside of it were two tickets to Paris that Jack excused with “I’m going anyway for a show, so you might as well come, too.”
And over the next three years, Davey got tickets to Moscow, Hawaii, Yosemite. They drove to Maine and went through Niagara Falls on the way home. When they moved in together, Jack hung a bigger version of Jack’s Grand Plan on the wall and made a big dramatic deal out of crossing out every place they went to.
Davey laughed at every speech and pretended to protest every time Jack planned a new trip, but he knew he wouldn’t win any argument against going and he didn’t really want to stop going, either. He loved going on trips with Jack. He loved that Jack was determined to show him as much of the world as possible and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
How did he get so lucky?
Slowly, though, his vision was getting worse. He was getting tunnel vision, not in the figurative sense but in a very literal sense, and by the time he was twenty-nine, he finally stopped being able to see anything other than light and dark.
There was one stop left on Jack’s Grand Plan, and Davey was sure it wasn’t going to happen, but Jack still insisted.
So even though Davey wouldn’t be able to see the sights, he and Jack books tickets to Norway complete with a two day cruise in the fjords.
Jack was an artist, and he was just as good with verbal descriptions as drawings and paintings. He spent the entire trip describing absolutely everything he could see to Davey, from the outfits of the people around them to the towering stone surrounding them while they were on the boat.
It wasn’t exactly the same, but it was still pretty good.
Two weeks after they got home, Jack woke Davey up early and dragged him into the living room.
“I have a surprise and you’ll love it,” he said, offering no other explanation until Davey was sitting on the couch. “As you know, we recently completed the last stop on Jack’s Grand Plan. However, I can’t help but feel it wasn’t the same, and therefore, I have decided there has to be one last step before the plan can be declared complete. And that step happens…right now.”
Davey heard Jack pulling paper off of something.
Setting something down on the coffee table. Something big.
Jack took Davey’s hand and squeezed it before setting it down on the thing he’d put on the table.
It was rough. All ridges and texture, nothing smooth about it.
“It’s the fjords,” Jack said, obviously bursting with excitement. “It’s oil paints but it’s almost a sculpture instead of a painting, so you can touch it to see it. It doesn’t look like the fjords at all because I painted them and got the texture right and then added black on top because it’s meant to be touched, not seen.”
Davey ran his fingers over the entire painting, tracing the edges along the frame and feeling for details, surprised at how much he could identify. There was a patch at the bottom that felt the way choppy water looked, and tall patches of rough stone. Swirly clouds.
“It’s beautiful, Jack.”
“With that, Davey, Jack’s Grand Plan is complete. We’ve been to every place you listed, and you’ve seen them all. How was it?”
“Perfect, Jacky.”
Jack sat down next to him on the couch and kissed his cheek, wrapping his arms around Davey’s waist.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Cause I was thinking we could maybe do a couple repeats. I could paint more like this. Still get to go on vacation together all the time but this time call it a business expense.”
Davey laughed and leaned into Jack’s arms.
“Sounds perfect to me, Jacky.”

Ranma 2/4
Part  Two: Chapter 13 - 25
Unless someone comes up with a better name I’m sticking with this one
HOW tf is the principal crazier than before?!
Yup, spreading out the Kuno-Principal thing
Is Sasuke seriously an anime-only?!?
Like I said Ryoga needs to chill a little first
Main reason I don’t like Ukyo That scene where she blatantly states she’s fine with turning Ranma into something he’s not rather than helping him
(Ignoring the near constant amount of undermining his abilities)
“I’m gonna cheer him up” as she holds a sword! Why?!
 Ranma you dummy, hug Akane!
I hate this demon/ghost cat
Shampoo, you manipulative bitch
Akane learns to swim like a normal person
The lifeguard in me can’t do it
 The principal is background shenanigans
Totally forgot about the kid who wants to play video games and is “weak” bc of it
Definitely need to find a different reason tho
Lazy little shits are a pain
Also his mom is crap
 Akane… why you be dumb?
 Weird Happosai is Santa plot…
What is with the Excalibur meets lucky 1000 meets fairy godmother?
Good news is, with what I’ve done to Kuno’s understanding of Ranma’s curse Ranma knows Kuno wouldn’t give him that wish and calls it quits sooner
Someone just needs to explain Ranma’s really confusing sense of morality to me
Cuz it’s either on 110% or it’s nonexistent, now normally nonexistent is for Kuno but still
Look Ranma’s got ego problems but he ain’t stupid
No betting the Tendo Dojo at five!
On what planet is that a legal document?!?
Some1 tell me why Shampoo using Ranma as a stop ramp bugs me so bad
That mo when you can’t remember if the Hot Spring Challenge is when Ukyo met Shampoo in the anime…
I don’t think so…
Akane you made me need to google a word
That like never happens Ranma you idiot
So close but so far
So much more logic, thanks
I mean more insanity, but it explains why Ranma swapped clothes
Finally! Ranma apologizes
Jesus Christ someone would think I won the goddamn lotto with how loud I cheered when this happened
600% approve of this over what happened in the anime
Oof poor Ranma
Hahahaha in your face Shampoo, but I also think I know why Ranma chose it
Poor Ryoga
I KNEW this guy was coming I still hate it
YEET you can’t PAY ME to  do this arc
Look, is it the fact that I had etiquette and dance classes as a child and everyone assumed this is what it was like? Probably.
It wasn’t so I won’t.
Any1 else notice how Nabiki is one of the few ppl that uses she/her when Ranma is in his cursed form no matter what?
Why does this bug me?
Akane, stop beating Ranma up, honestly
This is closer to abuse rather than teasing
*sighs*
Gotta work that out of the narrative, intentional or not
Every1 sayin she’s violent isn’t helping
Like I said really fucking morally GREY Nabiki
How grey can you go before you get black?
 Let’s find out together
Can everyone PLEASE stop treating Ranma like an object?!
I literally can’t tell if Nabiki is fucking Aro or not…
STRESS
Why is this so hard?!
I hate seeing Akane cry
I know she’s playing Ranma like a kazoo, but the point still stands
WHY ARE YOU TWO SO DUMB?!
Nope, nevermind it’s just Ranma that’s a fuckin idiot I blame Genma
No, I’m not kidding
*sighs* I don’t condone Nabiki doing this in any way just for the record THAT’S not an apology Ranma!
This mess is totally your fault Nabiki
STRESS
am I intentionally pointing out where this work of fiction is stressing me out since I’m now online schooling and suffering for it? Yes, fuck off.
 Actually, don’t.
But Fuck Covid19
Aww his hat’s back!
Why do I love his hat so much?
No, seriously Akane’s so cute!
Oooww tree
y’know the sec she realized what Ranma was doing Nabiki should’ve TOLD him!
Congrats Ranma ya got the wrong sis- I mean the right- but wrong- dammit y’know what I mean
Some1 give me a logical explanation for why Ranma goes on a date with a panda doodle, PLEASE
I do appreciate the epic battle background fight for the anime
Further proof that Happosai sucks
Manga name’s somehow less believable I think it’s the use of “snowman” rather than “yeti”
Did Soun just find out that Pchan is Ryoga, and say nothing?
Ooo, Imma commit arson
Remember when I said obey Physics and Medical, I meant it
Arson is wrong and I know this but “transgender bitch” crosses the line
I will do it
Shampoo is a fucking yandere psycho
Just sayin “we’ll see who can get him first”
honestly, any other group and I’d be annoyed, but these four can’t work together for shit I
’m still pissed at Taro, but he can kill Happosai, please
I can’t tell if Shampoo, Mousse and Ryoga are being purposefully obtuse or not
I just reread their names I know the answer to at least two of them
Idk how I feel about Kuno-amnesia we’ll see
yep, Kuno gives me the creeps w or w/out his memories
kinda wish this was anime
jesus christ, poor Ranma
press f to pay respects for Ranma’s stomach
InstaRegret
Also Ukyo’s assumption that some1 can make Ranma doing anythin he doesn’t want to is crap
Like HELLO! Wake up moron!
Nabiki, I mean this in the nicest way possible, shut the fuck up
You’re making it worse
Also TALK to each other you ding dongs!
OH RIGHT! I almost forgot about the biggest fucking insult that Ukyo said of her own freewill!
It also proves that she doesn’t know Ranma as a person AT ALL!
It’s not a pick one or the other kind of thing
The fact that she thinks Ranma would accept that is insulting
The fact that she thinks that is insulting and makes me hate the patriarchy
Again, treating him like a prize than a person
*tries not scream, sighs*
Nabiki, you’re the cause of at least 30% of the stress I get from this
You having feelings ain’t the fucking problem here Ukyo, you not acknowledging Ranma’s is
I hate fake criers, anyone who does this I hate you
Always let others in on your plans, kids
When’s every1 gonna realize Ranma’s “wishy-washy” cuz no one’s ever committed to HIM before?
This episode confused me, I’m prepared to be MORE confused
Less confused, I’m surprised
 Gonsunkugi, you creep
There is SO much wrong with this
*shudders*
WHAT?!
Y’know I didn’t think Gosunkugi could surprise me, I was wrong
Happosai still sucks unfortunately for all of us he’s now weird on top of it
I love how much Ranma needs to be kicked in the teeth to get any character development out of him
Ryoga is my #1 choice for it, always
Ranma… why are you like this?
Genma, emotional range of a goddamn wall
I am jealous of Ranma’s brain
I could be SO mean with the Shishihokodan
Also, are they implying that Ryoga has depression?
Gimme Ranma’s brain
I won’t ask for his confidence cuz that’s impossible but I want his brain
In Akane’s defense, given what she knows she couldn’t’ve known how badly that would affect Ryoga
I ain’t gonna say “leave Shampoo” cuz that’s cruel
I like the “turn into a Cat” rather than the “Can’t Cross” & the use of New Year’s rather than random but this still brings around the fact that she doesn’t LISTEN to him
Mousse you’re NOT helping in fact you’re actively making it worse did you miss when he said blatantly “I don’t wanna”
oh, sure, NOW you’re ok with it
ugh Mousse, you have a brain, I’ve SEEN you use it. Do so now.
This entire episode weirded me out
IDK if it’s the age-dff or the fact that he was makin it up and somehow everyone thought this was okay …
I won’t YEET it but MASSIVELY change
heheheh
Light bulb
NOPE I’m keeping this surprise to myself
it was a rather sweet end tho
Oh, this episode is a mess and a half, honestly
Also Nabiki, congrats you’ve literally enabled a stalker S
o many laws are broken here
okay, so Kodachi not being in on Ranma’s secret after so long makes sense purely because she doesn’t go to their school
however, with what i’ve done to make Kuno marginally less dumb it makes a little bit less sense…
I literally hate Kuno with what I’ve done to his logic of Ranma’s transformation, but that’s the point Kodachi… how do I handle you… oh, duh!
Ok, so Kodachi is now also terrible
I’m trying to figure out where this is in the plot since there is ZERO
Ok, there’s a LINE, Nabiki
This one would be touching, if it didn’t end the way it does
TALK gentlemen!
It won’t kill you
Fuck a parent that says they’re not your parent for no reason, EVER
I am going to make this hurt
Also gonna take out Genma’s fail at stealth
Remember I said Akane’s going to learn to cook
heheheh
sorry, I just love this idea
Oh this is SO against the rules it’s not even funny
tiny adjustment so they actually have quasi-competent referees
Crazy wants crazy?I won’t stop ‘em
I reiterate: CHEATING!
I am aware that the “ending” apparently sets them back to the start in terms of their relationship but I swear to God if they pretend shit like this didn’t happen I will scream
Someone ships something other than Akane x Ranma PLEASE explain why/how
don’t ship bash but I would insight when you explain
STICK TO CANON
please trust me, I’m a multi/poly/crack shipper
(for frame of reference to a bnha I ship DabiHawks)
I understand the appeal of Fanon
however, I would like to stick to Canon here
so no Fanon
Canon Only
Fully love that high kick
Genma shows Ranma’s secret here, but they already know… so… I shall find out
Ooo, you’re not getting out of this Ranma
Do you know how tempting it is for Akane to at least tell Ranma she’s a girl- oh wait gendered sports… right…
Ranma…
if you didn’t realize it was Akane when she hit you for calling her klutzy I can’t help you
I want to commit arson at some of the comments…
but can confirm that these are HS boys
Doesn’t mean I gotta like it
I was wondering how long I was going to have to wait before tearing into Nodoka
FINALLY
Took me WAY too long to remember that Nodoka calling Ranko tomboyish is due to how he speaks in Japanese
I’ll need to figure that out since… English
Can I explode on Genma’s choice to take Ranma at TWO?!
Can I further explode on both of them for making a TWO YEAR OLD “sign” a Seppuku Pledge?!
I hate both of them, honest
ALSO communication!
Genma! Just fucking TELL HIM!
Making her transphobic is SO tempting
I don’t mean in a “i hate you” way I mean in a “I sheltered my whole life” way
It’s still bad, and painful, but she can easily learn from that
Or be worse, this could go 2 ways
I feel so bad for Akane for this entire conversation
Also poor Ranma like ouch…
 Awkward
I’m going to make this hurt something fierce
Slight change since I’m hoping Ranma isn’t as “peak fight or flight” by this point
Genma don’t be an asshole for FIVE MINUTES
Please, that’s all I want
If she doesn’t learn the truth before the end I will make a bad decision
Really, I will
Don’t kill Genma, you can’t
Akane, don’t say like you wouldn’t… honestly
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, honestly, just look the other way Ranma
*sigh*
Ranma…
See, this kind of crap here is why I really don’t like Cologne
any other day Akane’d be right
oof, that means he self aware that girls flock to him
I’m quite frustrated by that if I’m honest
Ranma is clueless about all the wrong things
I love him but God I wanna punch him sometimes
Why is there a swing from the ceiling?!
I had a jolt from the way they set that panel up, thanks
Are you trying to kill me?!
Thank you Cologne, now fuck off
Oh thank God, at least he learned
This is nonanime stuff so I have no clue what’s happening but anything to make Happosai miserable
I’m enjoying this immensely
ugh, “think of it as a compliment” ghost
Eat me
okay, yeah, as much as I want him dead, that’s worse
I’m glad he’s not a one-and-done character
I will forever ONLY call him Taro when it is NonDialogue
Wait Saffron as in big-bad Saffron?
I literally only know pieces of the end so I’m just pulling from what I know
Lol, wait… was that soldier Anime only too?
I almost liked you there for a sec Taro
Now I’m pissed again
bravo
Oh, YIKES
… if Ranma falls into the Spring of Drowned Twins would he split?
I’m not going to DO IT, obviously!
I’m just curious okay…
that answers that… and kills anyone other than Ranma’s plan to turn back to normal I hope everyone is aware of that
oof
Since when is there a castle on an island in Japan
tis just a scratch, I’ll admit that was funny
Ranma… your stomach gets you in so many problems
ok, that was wholesome
I approve
Okay, so my understanding is that Mrs. Tendo got sick, so I can understand the reactions to Kasumi
BUT I still find it odd because… well… anyone in my house gets sick and you mostly can’t even tell I mean, minus a worse attitude and a mask, other than that though, nope we keep ‘er movin’
I’m moving this section sooner EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!
I like her mom’s cookbook tho
I could make a Ranma x Ryoga joke here, but I won’t
I also won’t make a Ranma x Ryoga joke chapter cuz I’m nice like that
Actually I might have no choice
I’m FINE just dying
 Help
my multishipper heart is dying here
 I love this
InstaRegret for THREE people
If nothing else, I’m impressed
(well three once Ranma’s back to normal)
I need help
Fangirling/Fanboying/Fanpeopling is dangerous folks, remember that
Poor Ryoga
Though I too feel that right now like where do I look because everything coming in at mach 6
I’m changing that one scene tho cuz I can’t justify the aftermath without it
This… is… weird to say the least
I feel like I should just expect anything with Gosunkugi remotely involved to be weird at this point
okay, not as weird as I expected
glad it was short tho
I think I am officially out of anime terf
YAY, new content!
This is why I ask about any ship that isn’t Ranma x Akane
Also, names?
That- that- that can’t...
I DIDN’T NEED TO KNOW THAT!
EWWW
gross
WHY?!?!!
also, biology, that’s not how that works!!
You two ARE idiots
Ryoga you die I’ll kill you
Well… that hurt to see so quick…
Ranma, get up!
I officially hate this Herb guy
ok, so if you put HOT water in the ladle do you stay that way forever?
Alright! Way to go Ryoga!
I need to stop shipping Rivals it’s bad for my health
fucking eat it you dick!
 Poor Akane
nevermind, Ranma you idiot
awwwww
ok, so that whole no more Anime-content… I was wrong, and I admit that, but still
I’m just thinking of my bff when they realize she’s an adult cuz, yeah, she’s like that too
except like physically an adult unlike tiny-Hinako
oh MY GOD Ukyo you’re driving me up the goddamn wall I swear!
THANK YOU AKANE!
“You’re all Ranma’s fiancées” when only one of them actually is
GIANT SIGH OF ANNOYANCE
Ranma, learn to communicate, PLEASE!
Okay… so is this where they figured it out or are some ppl still in the dark?
TIMELINE!!
Honestly, mood Ranma, mood
This entire plot line confuses me if I’m being totally honest
I mean I live for the Akane focus, but there are so many better ways to do this

coterie: the bluetooth earpiece (2/2)
gang!x1 x fem!reader
synopsis: you’re an ordinary girl, with an ordinary life. but what happens when you catch the gang that is famous for keeping their deeds under the table, in action?
coterie’s masterlist can be found here
pairing: son dongpyo and y/n
a/n: mild cursing, so proceed with caution. this is also quite long, so just a heads up :)))
so over the next few weeks, your days went on in the same routine: you would wake up, have breakfast, watch some tv (currently you watch reruns of running man) and then dongpyo would have you come into a room that he has set up for your training purposes, specifically. here, he taught you how to place bugs and cameras efficiently, he taught you ways to make your acting more sincere and the most important one, he taught you how to not give in under any circumstances. “at times, the people I keep an eye on begin to get suspicious. I usually don’t give them a reason to be so, but sometimes they are smart enough. when that happens, don’t panic. it’ll only weaken your case even more. find ways of distraction, it could be anything. but don’t let them on your tail.” you didn’t get to play around with some of the fancier equipment, as dongpyo probably still didn’t trust you with that stuff just yet. you’re a good learner, you would attempt to argue with him, but he’d snort and ruffle your hair, “not today, pal,” to which you would just pout, and unbeknownst to you, speeding up dongpyo’s heart rate with this action of yours. during your training sessions, you’ve heard dongpyo sing under his breath quite faintly (what can’t he do), and his voice is angelic. he’ll catch himself singing and stop before you notice, but he doesn’t realize that you pick it up the millisecond he starts. one day, you did compliment him about it, and the poor boy had gone red for a solid ten minutes, before hyungjun stopped by and said, “yo, what’s wrong with your face?” all in all, dongpyo’s been nothing but sweet to you, regardless of his outgoing personality. but sometimes, you can’t help but notice that he’ll be caught in his own thoughts. when you ask him something or confirm if you’re doing something right, his eyes are focused in another direction, deep in thought. one day, you thought you could ask him about it. “dongpyo, can I ask you something?” his eyes shifted up from his phone screen to you. “you’re always thinking about something. sometimes when I talk to you, you don’t hear me. why’s that? what’s on your mind?”dongpyo smiled tight-lipped and responded with a lazy look in his eyes, “that’s attentive of you to notice, but I don’t think we stand in a place where we can be this open to each other yet, so let’s drop the topic.” and he shut you down like that, and moved on as if you didn’t even bring it up to start with. “I have to get a picture of you so I can get an ID printed for you. look at the camera,” he pulled out his phone. you felt a slight pang in your chest, but you decided to move it to the side and focus on the matter at hand, so you gave the camera a small and clearly fake smile and he took the photo. you left to your room as soon as you heard the click, unaware of dongpyo’s gaze on your every movement.
you shut the door and leaned against it, your feet slowly dragging you down. you had no right to be upset, he was technically right. you knew the guy for what, almost a month and a half? what relationship did you guys have and more importantly how close were you two for him to tell this stuff to you? you can’t expect him to open up until he’s ready to. still, you think, why does it bother you that something’s bugging him? and on the other side of the door, dongpyo stood, eyes fixated on your door and his hands shoved deep into his pocket. he sighs and looks away before turning around and walking back to his room. he wants to be able to open up to you, he wants to have long conversations about what’s going on in his head with you. there’s just one problem, and that’s trust. he knew from the second you picked him that there was something different about you, and he was determined to figure it out. but as he started learning more and more about you and your addicting personality, he found that the only obstacle standing in his way was himself. from his childhood up until now, dongpyo had been deceived too many times. he was abandoned as a toddler at the steps of a foster home, and the only memory of that time that he has of his birth parents is a picture of him and his mother. he doesn’t know why they left him there. but that was the first time it felt like he was punched in the stomach; that feeling was betrayal. it continued to happen throughout his school days, where his friends used him to get things out of him. whether it was copying his homework, to more extreme things like sneaking into teacher’s offices to look for answer keys or tests, they all had one purpose; to get the dirty work done and use dongpyo as their scapegoat, when he’d get caught. the only person that he definitely trusted more than anything was seungwoo; dongpyo met seungwoo for the first time outside his school, when his so-called friends crowded him against a wall, threatening him. seungwoo saved him just in time, and since then the two were inseparable until seungwoo graduated. sometimes, dongpyo still can’t help but be hesitant when sharing certain things with him. later, seungwoo took him under his care and told him he could do what he wanted. when he told seungwoo that he wanted to do conning, seungwoo knew where he was coming from. this was a way for him to release his pent-up frustration, he thought. after all, his ability to deceive had been shaped by all those around him, so it makes sense that he’s able to use the techniques that were used on him to deceive others. call it trauma, or call it reluctance, but that’s why he thinks he can do his job in the gang so well. “god, why does everything have to be so complicated?” pulling at his hair, he slumps over to his desk. he’s just about to put his head down when he sees a bright colored sticky note in his peripherals. he doesn’t have those, he thinks and focuses his attention there, and examines it. there’s a series of small doodles on the sticky note: a panda bear, a few hearts here and there and ‘y/n’ written in all sorts of fonts. a smile grows on his face as his gaze lingers over the bright paper fondly. he’d often see you crouched over his desk whenever he’d set up equipment before training you, he’s just assumed you would be taking notes.
the image of your concentrated face blinks in his head: eyebrows scrunched, eyes focused and your tongue poked out of the corner of your mouth ever so slightly. he remembers the last time he felt like this: it was in high school. sitting next to him in third block, senior year was a pretty girl named sooyoung. she was dongpyo’s everything; he liked her for so long and when he gathered the courage to ask her out, and she said yes, he was elated. they did all the lovey-dovey couple things: went out to the movies on weekend evenings, attended school dances and games together, and hung around the city together. it was love for him, but not for her. one day he found sooyoung near the lockers, with her friends surrounding her, paying her money. he was a bet and sooyoung won. he confided in her when things were rough, and to see that she stabbed him in the back too only made him cower in fear even more. dongpyo remembered the pounding headache that day because it felt like no other. once sooyoung found out that dongpyo knew about the bet, she didn’t even try to reason with him. rather, she scoffed and told him, “did you really think I liked you? get a grip on yourself, dongpyo.” if it didn’t feel like a slap to the face before, it sure as hell felt like one now. he shudders as flashes of the void he put himself in appear in front of him. he closed himself off shortly after graduating; ‘trust no one’ was the mantra running through his head, and it almost swallowed him whole, but he was saved, by seungwoo. point of the matter is, he hasn’t felt like this after then and before you. he saw the liveliness and passion in you ever since you started working with him, and it reminded him of sooyoung a lot. too much, in fact, to the point where dongpyo’s now afraid. even if he does tell you how he feels, which is an obstacle on its own, he is scared you will leave him because that’s always been the case. you’ll reciprocate the feelings and actions before you get what you need and drop him, just like everyone else. a part of him kept telling him that, but the other part of him tried convincing him you were different. “fuck it, I’m not letting my emotions get in the way of this. I have to focus,” he said aloud and shook his head, before getting back to work. fast forward and it’s now a day before “the big night”, and tensions between you and dongpyo have calmed down a lot, but there were unspoken thoughts from both ends lingering in the air between the two of you. dongpyo would often focus his gaze on you, and you started feeling it, your skin heating up from the newfound attention. “we’re only staying there one night, y/n, so pack light, but also pack enough where it seems like we’re running away.” your eyes flicker to his, and you question, “is one night going to be enough?” dongpyo runs a hand through his onyx locks, and nods, “one night is more than enough. we just need to plant cameras and bugs in their house, that’s all.” you nod obediently, and head to your room to start packing. dongpyo calms his nerves; he’s never been nervous about a mission before, and he knows that he’s feeling this way because you’re involved in it with him.
grabbing your fake ID and passport, you run through the story once more in your head, as you walk to the car, dongpyo already inside. he’s in the back seat, and soonja’s driving, because you two need to take the bus. “once we get to the bus station, we start acting our parts, okay? you never know who’s around.” you had given yourself the name ‘eunji’ and dongpyo was ‘ilseong’. your story was you two were childhood neighbors and your families didn’t want you two to get together so as rebellious youth, for the sake of love you decided to run away and start your lives together. you decided to go to the minister of employment and labor because he happens to find jobs for young people, and manage to stay the night. “here we are, sir. be safe and if you need me, I’m a phone call away.”soonja brakes the car, and you two step out, with your belongings. there seems to be no one around, which is perfect. soonja offers a small smile before driving off. you two look at each other, and dongpyo gives you a small nod, and it’s like an off-on switch. the biggest smile grows on your face as you get into character. at this point, people have started walking towards the bus stand you were dropped off at minutes ago. “wah, ilseong! isn’t in liberating running away from home like that?” dongpyo smiles wide, and an erratic feeling spreads in your stomach. “I’m so happy we decided to do this, eunji. now all we have to do is find a job. I promise to keep you happy.” there’s something else in dongpyo’s gaze that you didn’t see before, and you can’t point out what it is. the bus stopping in front of you interrupts your thoughts and clusters of people simultaneously leave and enter the bus, including you two. you get on, swiping your passes and quickly sit down. a mother and her child sit in front of you. the child smiles giddily at you guys, and asks, “why do you have suitcases? are you going on vacation?” dongpyo laughs at the cuteness of the kid, and ruffles his hair, before interlocking your hands, “we’re moving to a happier place, me and this noona right here,” motioning to you. your cheeks tint red at the unfamiliar word falling from dongpyo’s mouth, and smile back, “your son is very cute, ma’am.” the woman smiles, the corners of her eyes crinkling and she responds, “and so are the two of you. ah, young love. I was around your age when I met my husband, too. I’ll never forget those sweet times.” she begins telling you stories about her and her husband, and just as she finishes, your stop arrives. “eunji, we’re getting off here.” dongpyo stands and helps you up, his hand reached to hold yours. you accept the offer, standing up and grabbing your things before saying goodbye to your co-passengers and getting off the bus. “this way,” dongpyo calls and you follow close behind him. not a long walk later, you find yourselves standing in front of a giant house. you’re surprised there isn’t a gate around the house. nevertheless, you exhale and ring the doorbell. an older woman opens the door and dongpyo just knows: it’ll be a piece of cake for her to let us in. “can I help you?” the woman looks at the two of you and dongpyo begins the story.
“and so, it would be really helpful of you if you guys can help us out. I know it’s probably too much to ask but I was wondering if you could give us shelter, just for tonight. I don’t want my eunji to freeze to death tonight. even if you just let her sleep here, I’d be grateful for that.” you interject, “no, ilseong, I won’t stay here without you,” and your eyes start to water. the woman, watching this scene unfold in front of her lets out a sound of pity. “I’ll explain everything to my husband later but for now, come in, both of you. I’ll bring out some of my kids’ spare clothing, and my maid will take you to a guest room.” and she lets you into the house. seconds later, a stout woman appears in front of you, before motioning to the stairs, “right this way, please.” you follow her up the stairs and she leads you to one of many rooms in the hallway. “you two may stay here tonight. I will come back if mrs. chan needs me to. until then, please let me know if you need anything.” she bids her farewell and leaves you two in a room. you and dongpyo will share a room, and a bed, tonight. you attempt to keep any mature thoughts out of your head, but it crosses your mind anyway and your breath hitches just thinking about it. sensing your discomfort, dongpyo says, “I’ll sleep on the floor if you’re uncomfortable,” but you cut him off, “no, it’s alright, it’s all an act anyway, right?” dongpyo winces at your choice of words, and quickly sets up. “well, we have no time to waste, I’ll freshen up in the bathroom, you can change here.” you two silently changed out of your clothes, and by the time you were ready, the maid was back. “mrs. chan invites you down for dinner, mr. chan is also here.” you two follow her down the stairs and you walk into a dining room with an older man sitting on one end and the woman from earlier at the other end. “eunji, ilseong, please take a seat. I’ve explained the situation to my husband.” the man then speaks up, “I will help find you a job, young man.” dongpyo beamed, “oh, thank you so much, sir. I knew I could count on you,” the man eyed the two of you for a bit, his gaze lingering on dongpyo a little more analytically. “yes, well, that’s my job.” you eat dinner and the maid then walks you back to the room. the hours tick on by and when you guys are sure everyone’s asleep, the two of you get up and dongpyo sets up the computer, before popping in his bluetooth earpiece, and gloves, along with the bugs and cameras. “you know what to do,” dongpyo tells you and you nod, “don’t worry, just place your first camera so I can connect and keep an eye.” dongpyo gives you a thumbs up and heads out of the room, quietly. he’s placing cameras and bugs in strategic areas, and you, on the bed and watching the laptop screen, pout at the thought that your training has gone to waste because you didn’t end up handling this part. but, you become alarmed as you see some movement through one of the cameras, and it’s not dongpyo. it’s the minister. “dongpyo, come in!” you whisper-shout and dongpyo gets into a corner. “what?” “he’s coming up here, hurry!” the panic is increasing, your heart is racing, and the doorknob begins to rattle, when in comes dongpyo. “he’s not too far, hurry in!” he shuts the door quietly and beelines over to you, moving things that will blow your cover and hiding it. the laptop is moved away from you, and swiftly, dongpyo sits on your lap. alarmed, your eyes widen and dongpyo’s hands cradle your cheeks, “do you trust me?” with your eyes boring into his own, you nod, “of course,” and with that, he inhales quickly and kisses up, catching you completely off-guard. then, you start relaxing into the kiss and kiss back with fervor, hands flying to grip his shoulders. as dongpyo nibbles on your bottom lip, suddenly the door opens, revealing the minister, now shocked at the scene in front of him. you both pull away, and dongpyo shoots up, “oh, sir! I’m so sorry,” he shakes his head, and puts his hands up in defense, “I apologize, I should’ve knocked. I thought I heard noises, but I must’ve been hallucinating. I’m sorry, uh, carry on then,” and sheepishly, he leaves the room, shutting the door.
you sigh and rest your head on the backboard. “I, uh, got most of the cameras up. the important areas, anyway. and the bugs, too, so, we’re done.” dongpyo stutters out. your breathing is heavy, but you softly say, “dongpyo,” and he looks up to see you patting on the spot in front of you on the bed. he complies and shuffled over to sit cross-legged. “hey, look at me.” “I can’t,” dongpyo’s never been this...vulnerable, you think. “you can, you didn’t do anything wrong.” he looks up at you and you swear, you see the smallest tear forming just along his lash line. you rest your hands over his and clutch them, “tell me what’s wrong.” all it took was one second before he completely shattered. dongpyo started crying, telling you everything and anything. “...it’s always been so hard for me to trust people, but then I met you, y/n, and you’ve given me a whole new purpose to this job. I have always held everything in, and after meeting you, I feel like all the pressure that’s been building up is all released.” he wipes his eyes and looks up to find you, tears streaming down your face and a smile on your mouth. “why are you crying?” “I’m just... overwhelmed. I was so worried about you, dongpyo, you don’t understand.” you sniff, using the hem of your shirt to dry your face. “I really like you, dongpyo. you are more than what you show the world, and I have seen it. you’re a true diamond in the rough, and I have never been more lucky for making a choice that I did. you are amazing, dongpyo, in every way. don’t hold anything back. the people that messed with you once can honestly suck it, they didn’t deserve your time. cherish the people who have your back now: seungwoo, the rest of the team and me.” and with that, you pull him in for a hug and squeeze him tight, and he returns the hug with just as much power. “thank you, y/n. thank you so much.” he whispers into your ear and you pull away to leave kisses on his cheeks. “you’re absolutely welcome, my dongpyo.” because from that moment on, he was your dongpyo and that was a fact.
a/n: that’s all for dongpyo…(btw he and y/n made it back safe and sound) who do you choose next? didn’t expect dongpyo? who then? let me know in the comments!

500 Follower Raffle Prize (A.K.A. something that is looooong overdue)
It’s been a long time since the announcement for the raffle winner was made, and I’ve finally got the prize for our lovely winner @jirouisbestgirl done!
Instead of a sticker, a playlist themed around Denki Kaminari was requested (which you can listen to here!)
And for the writing piece, our winner requested some angst between her OC and Denki! I put my own little spin on it with the Blossom AU (an AU of my own design that I will elaborate on more some day), and I hope you all enjoy it!
Word Count: 1,774 words
Blue eyes set on that glowing screen, wide with disbelief and watering with betrayal. It couldn’t be legit.
It could not be legit. She refused to believe that it was.
Fingers tapped the play button again, shaking as they were drawn back from the glass.
“Please be someone else, please be someone else…..” She muttered under her breath, watching as the video came to life once again.
“Come on, Buki! Kiss him!” A voice called off camera, causing a couple of cheers to echo close to the camera. A young woman with red pigtails (very vaguely familiar) entered the frame, looking at whomever was videoing what was happening and sticking her tongue out slightly. “I’m going, I’m going!” She laughed, heading to a familiar head of blond hair. And- when she tapped on the shoulder that belonged to said blond- he turned around, offering her a grin. It was less than a fraction of a second later when her lips were on his, arms around his neck and fingers tangling in his hair. And it took even less time for his hands to go to her hips, pulling her closer and rubbing small circles on them with his thumbs. Cheers erupted around the person filming again, and when the two pulled apart from their kiss, they shared a soft look. After a few brief seconds were filled with the pulsing of music and the sight of the pair talking, the screen went black.
Already feeling the telltale poke of flowers coming through her skin, she choked down a breath, those tears flowing down her cheeks like a river as those blue petals rested just above her skin. Hands shaking as she sent a text back to the person who had sent her the video, she barely had even sent it before the tears blurred her vision. Dropping her phone on her pillow, she curled into herself, letting it all out.
Not only had Kaminari lied to her about the night before- he claimed that he had been feeling under the weather- but clearly, he and this other girl were very comfortable with each other. Way too comfy to have been ‘just friends’.
Gripping tightly onto her blankets, the ravenette fell asleep after what seemed like an eternity of tears, the dark and fleeting embrace of sleep one that she ran into gratefully.
~~~~~~
The next day, everyone knew that something was up when Ayumi walked into the main school building with morning glories framing her face and peppering her exposed skin. Most looked at her with sympathy, bright smiles with sad eyes briefly acknowledging the pain she was feeling. Others steered clear of her, weary eyes settling on her as she walked past.
You never really knew what could’ve caused the flowers to bloom unless you were there- and you really wouldn’t want to be the asshole that caused even more of them to bloom.
The soft clopping of hooves nearby snapped Ayumi from her thoughts, and when the familiar voice of her friend hit her ears she looked to her left.
“I’m going to throw hands with him.” Galil muttered, his voice just barely above a low and rumbly growl. “I am actually going to kick his ass.”
“Don’t, Gal…..” The ravenette muttered, looking down to the floor. Another flower popped up on her skin, petals unfurling and adding to the freckles of flowers on her body.
“But what he did was shitty!” The satyr-like teen burst out, those honey-colored eyes blazing with anger. Red larkspur flowers began to seemingly sprout from his curly hair, growing around his ram-like horns. “He fucking cheated on you, Ayumi! That shithead lied to you, and I’m not going to excuse it. Period!” His hands balled themselves into fists, nails digging into his palms as his voice went down into that deep growl once again. “He better fucking hope that he and I don’t get paired up when we do fight training today….. I’m not going to hold anything back if we do.”
Letting out a sigh, the girl’s gaze stayed on the floor, taking a deep breath in in an attempt to keep more of those flowers from coming out of her skin. She blocked out Galil’s ranting for the moment, only really snapping back into reality when she realized he had stopped.
The pair continued to walk in silence until they got to the classroom that they resided in for a better majority of their day, entering and heading to their respective seats.
Ayumi- once seated- retrieved her notebook from her schoolbag, opening it and briefly looking through the pages. All along them, there were little pen doodles- hearts with ‘Denki’ scribbled in them, amongst other little things. And each and every one of them she tore out, balling them up and soon creating a small pile of wadded-up paper on her desk. When she finally got to a blank page she stood up abruptly from her desk, grabbing those balled-up papers in a tight fist and heading to the front of the room to throw them away. Along the way a couple of the flowers adorning her skin fell off, drifting slowly to the floor and waiting to be crushed underfoot.
When that voice that she had once loved called out to her met her ears, she simply ignored it, more flowers blooming from her flesh on her way back to her desk.
Denki’s brows furrowed in confusion, having been quite used to receiving a warm but shy smile from Ayumi instead of the cold shoulder he had received. “What the…..?” He muttered softly under his breath, hand lowering from the small wave that it had been poised to do. Watching as his girlfriend made her way to her seat at the back of the class, his gaze caught the flaming eyes of Goatman (as he had mentally dubbed the Greek exchange student). That burning look spoke volumes about something- and, with one single finger making a slicing gesture across his throat and a gesture to Ayumi with his head- the true meaning of the fire behind the Grecian teen’s eyes and the flowers weaving through his hair and horns was revealed.
Somehow, Kaminari had done something to upset Ayumi. And there would be hell to pay if he didn’t make up for it.
Brows furrowing in thought, the blond didn’t even notice that Aizawa-sensei had come in and was starting to teach that day’s lesson. He was preoccupied with going over just about every single thing that he had done over the past few days, trying to figure out what was wrong. It was only Thursday, so it had to have happened either over the weekend at some point or during the week.
A buzzing in his pocket snapped him out of his thoughts. And- as discreetly as he could- he slid his phone out of his pocket, looking at the message that had been sent to him.
[Mina 🌺: I think I know why Galil looked like he was about ready to kill you when you looked at Ayumi.]
Expression turning into one of relief for a moment, it quickly morphed into curiosity as Denki typed away at his phone screen.
[Tell me!!!! I don’t want to be ground-pounded by Goatman. And I wanna make my baby feel better.]
The moment that little message was sent off Denki looked up, letting his phone rest on his leg as he pretended to take notes, anxious for his friend’s answer. When that telltale buzz vibrated against his leg his hand immediately flew to the screen once again, topaz gaze scanning the contents of the message.
[Mina 🌺: I think they know about the party from yesterday. And I think someone posted the video of your smooch with that chick from class B.]
Eyes widening, the blond had to keep himself from cursing out loud, taking in a deep breath to help keep the flowers he could feel prickling underneath the surface of his skin from popping out and blooming. Briefly his head turned, looking at his pink-haired classmate with wide eyes and a look of shock on his face. The moment Aizawa called him out on it, though, his gaze snapped to the front of the class, and he paid attention for just a couple of moments before looking down at his desk, holding his head in his hands as the wave of guilt crept into his throat, becoming a lump that made it hard to breath for a couple of moments.
Sure, he and that chick had flirted a bit. And sure, they had kissed. But it was something that was more on the downlow since he had started dating Ayumi- at least on his end. His casual little flirts were meant to be a jesting thing. Quickly reaching down to unlock his phone, he quickly went to swipe through the messages that they sent back and forth, cursing quietly under his breath.
“Shit…..”
That telltale poke of flowers coming through his skin began to itch all over his face and neck, the marigolds almost blocking his vision in his left eye entirely as they bloomed on his skin. The monotonous ticking of the clock on the wall seemed to get even louder, the repetitive sound enough to drive someone mad if they focused on it for too long.
God, Denki just wanted class to end.
The moment that the bell rang to signal the starting of their lunch period he was up out of his seat like a rocket, heading to the.back of the class. “Ayumi, I-”
“Don’t fucking talk to her, you fuckin’ cheater.” The venomous tone in Galil’s voice- had it been legit poison- would’ve killed Denki on the spot. Standing up, the satyr-like teen put himself between Ayumi and the blond.
Very briefly looking over at Denki, Ayumi’s eyes widened before she tore her gaze away, even more morning glories popping from her skin. A faint sniffling sound could even be heard from her as she quietly gathered up her things.
This sight made Denki’s heart squeeze tightly in his chest, and a couple more marigolds bloomed, resting in his hair. “I’m sorry, I-”
“If you were sorry, then you wouldn’t have gone behind her back to some party and made out with some random chick! You broke my best friend’s heart!” Galil practically shouted, slamming his hand down on a desk as more larkspur sprouted in his messy curls. Eyes flashing, a low and warning growl filled his voice.
“Get the hell outta my sight, Denki. And don’t ever come near Ayumi again. You don’t fucking deserve her.”
