Fourth & final collection, based broadly on internet horror series & phenomena. I think this one was the longest coming, due to all the references I needed, as well as struggling to think of poster ideas for some of these. Petscop’s spot used to be based on the "I AM GOD" 4chan thread, but I lost my inspiration for that one entirely, especially after remembering Petscop was a thing (bc I SOMEHOW forgot that baby existed).
I’m so happy with how a lot of these turned out. The Boisvert one looks on-point, I’m so proud of the idea of n**ses made of tinsel for DHMIS, Salad Fingers’s style was nailed down — but my favourite is EatEoT, where I painted it pretty accurately without any lineart.
When a new black-haired blue-eyed person appeared in the manor, one could easily be forgiven for thinking that Bruce’s adoption problem had struck again. So color many a batkid surprised that no, this kid isn’t a new sibling, no he didn’t get grabbed from the street, and actually he’s here for Alfred.
Apparently Alfred never found it important to mentioned that he has a husband- that the kid kind of implies isn’t human what with the casual way he says he himself is half human- and that this kid is apparently their child. For once it’s Bruce’s turn to come home to a surprise sibling.
Danny on the other hand just learned that his Clockpa has a semi-mortal partner who has offered to take him in, (in another dimension even! And there’s aliens!!) while the ancient takes care of some stuff at home.
And yeah it’s in a rich-manor but Sam has proved that not all rich people are evil, and based off of Mr Pennyworth’s stories the Waynes weren’t bad either. Though based off of the others’ reactions perhaps he should wait to mention that there wasn’t one new family member but three…
Danny, Sam and Tucker get back from fixing some errors in the time line in France just before the French Revolution.
And sure Danny got mistaken for a French aristocrat that had died the day before they got there but it wasn’t to bad, it only made their jobs easier. It won’t be a problem for them.
Meanwhile Constantine, Batman and whoever the fuck else (imma say Hal, I love that green bitch) are exploring an abandoned manor in France after there being reports of strange, violent activity, and with their latest teammate Phantom not picking up their calls Constantine had to pull these two with him instead.
“Hey guys, Phantom’s a ghost, right?”
Hal sounds hesitant as Constantine replies
“Yes, why?”
“I think I found a picture of him living.”
and there on the wall is a picture of a long dead french aristocrat, with black hair and blue eyes but every other detail the same as Phantom’s
There on the wall sits a photo of Daniel Nightingale, a teenager who was possessed by a demon and killed two servants, then himself.
when adam said "ronan, i know you" in cdth it was all like aaw cute they are boyfriends and then. and then in greywaren when ronans. and adam sees him and he. he recognizes him. adam sees ronan in his horrifying -seemingly unrecognizable from human ronan- true form and laughs and crys and. ya'll. adam parrish knows him
Nope is about how Hollywood chews up everyone involved in it.
Nope is about racism.
Nope is about UFOs.
Nope is not about UFOs.
Nope is about why you don't work with chimpanzee co-stars.
Nope is about being eaten alive figuratively, by your passions, by your history, by trying to reclaim lost glory, by an audience that only ever wants more and is never satisfied.
Nope is about being eaten alive literally, really slowly, and you're awake and screaming the whole time.
Nope is about how you can never really tame a wild animal.
Nope is about how you can absolutely tame a wild animal.
(No you can't) (But you sort of can)
Nope is about the world's most stupidly dramatic recitation of "Flying Purple People Eater," but you suddenly realize that it's scaring you.
Nope is about why you don't let your heavily autistic-coded brother do the public speaking.
Nope is about why you don't let your sister have the aux.
Nope is about being forcibly adopted by a young adult conspiracy theorist who just got out of a four-year relationship and really needs you guys right now, okay? He hacked your cameras, please don't be mad. Wanna play video games?
Most importantly, Nope is about scaring me so fucking bad that I didn't even realize until the movie was over that I had turned my popcorn bucket into this:
There are already some great comments about the glass door between Jan and Nace in those shots, but I have something to say...
You know how Jan sometimes looks like he's phasing out or has thoughts running through his head? What if the glass is like a "barrier" for getting into Jan's head, a barrier between Jan's mind and reality. Like you can still see him in his physical form, but he might have wandered off somewhere else mentally because of his thoughts...
Then you have Nace appearing in front of him or trying to look into Jan's eyes or soul, or even find him...
