I think my biggest problem with RR is that I love the idea he has but not the execution.
Like, nice ADHD guy who uses humor as a coping mechanism. Nice, war between Greeks and Romans. Nice, Poseidon and Athena children couple. Nice, gender fluid badass character. Nice,
Then you realize the ADHD guy doesn't get much deeper than that. That, the war was caused by some flat ass character with no personality aside from killing panda plushies and superiority complex. That the A and P's relationship was kinda forced and toxic. That the said badass character is only gender fluid bc of her mom.

On the topic of EarthSpark factions, let’s also consider the Autobots.
Hasbro, understandably, wants to mostly use characters who sell so Optimus, Arcee, Bumblebee & Grimlock tend to be the Autobots primarily used the most in things. Lately Wheeljack and Elita-1 have become more common fixtures, and while it’s preferable to have Elita get a chance in the spotlight again over the somewhat forced Windblade and Pyra Magna back in the IDW days, it’s still a big symptom of modern storytelling. The insistence to use the same five or so Autobots over and over again is proving to be stale. It wasn’t THAT long ago we had a more varied cast but there’s only so much you can do with the same five guys and gals over and over again without completely rewriting them (Arcee being a particular stand out due to Prime and IDW).
Like the Decepticons, it feels like the Autobot cast in EarthSpark is miscast.
For instance, if GHOST is meant to be part of human relations anyway, shouldn’t some of the Autobots be public service vehicles? This show is Rescue Bots for Teens, own up to it, man!
Like where’s Inferno & Red Alert?
Tumblr media
While never really depicted as a gay couple before, if you want an organic relationship, these two are it. It wouldn’t take much to pivot these two into being husbands. Plus, Red Alert’s paranoia could easily (and rightfully in some cases) played off against Megatron and other GHOST aligned Decepticons.
Human/TF romance is also something that could be played up with Powerglide and Sea Spray.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Powerglide for the aerial recon and support (it’s not like they do anything with Wheeljack’s drones in show anyway) with Astoria being his semi eccentric co-pilot and one of the rich sponsors that helps fund GHOST.
Alanna and Sea Spray I had it were part of GHOST, who research aquatic areas of interest related to the Decepticons.
Tow-Line! A personal fav of the RiD01 Autobots. Still following his No Parking! mantra, he’s mostly comic relief towing away Decepticons, Terrans and fellow GHOST operatives who park irregularly.
Tumblr media
Quickshadow! Pretty much a straight transplant of her Rescue Bots self, and the straight woman to a lot of the antics of the Terrans and her teammates. Notably she’s the only Rescue Bots Autobot to make the leap to the big kids table in this scenario.
Tumblr media
Smokescreen! I see him as a hybrid of his Prime and G1 self. Young and impulsive, but having a bit of a smoking problem which is useful for confusing Decepticons. Hes largely kept in check by Quickshadow and his human partner Jack Darby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strongarm! Transplant of her RiD15 self, slightly less rigid but no less by the books. She’s in on the Terrans, and drops by the Maltos to teach them what she knows of what it means to be an upstanding Robot in Disguise. The bit with her and the Terrans is a toned down version of IDW Tailgate being taught by the fastidious IDW Ultra Magnus about the Autobot code.
Tumblr media
(Frankly I’m terrified Prowl’s upcoming role as of typing will make him an ACAB type due to IDW and current events, so Strongarm is my choice of having a competent cop that’s doing what’s she’s supposed to be doing.)
And to round us out: Grapple. The artsy fartsy type of the GHOST Autobots who leads reconstruction efforts with a squad of other construction themed Transformers like Bulkhead, Quickmix & the Constructicons. Very detail oriented and a perfectionist, buildings MUST be up to his standards to the letter. Grapple, Jawbreaker & Thrash tend to be played off in work/play scenarios where they learn from each other.
Tumblr media
I do understand that the Terrans are meant o be the standouts and the Decepticons, due to favoritism, are getting the oddballs, but it bothers me that the GHOST aligned Autobots especially feels like an afterthought (because in a fashion they kinda were…).

What makes a good yandere character for you? What are some of your favorite yanderes? And what are some that you like the least?
Aaa my first ask! Thank you so much!! Yes, as you can tell from my username, I do like yandere characters quite a bit! And I'm super excited to finally start ranting about them lollll Alright, this might get pretty long so I'll put my answers under the cut!
What makes a good yandere character for you?
This is a very subjective question, but first I'll explain what makes a character yandere.
"Yandere" comes from the Japanese verb 病んでいる which means to be sick. This can refer to any sort of illness, but with yandere characters, it's referring to ailments of the soul so to say. Basically a "yandere" character is anyone who becomes sick with love. Which is really vague, I know - but that's how it is.
A character can kill for love and still not be considered yandere. A different character can respect their target's (the person they are affectionate toward - their "darling") free-will and autonomy and still be considered yandere. It's vague and open to interpretation. What one person considers yandere, another might find them just being possessive.
Just getting a few common misconceptions out of the way first:
-Yandere characters can be abusive to their targets, but just because a character is abusive, that doesn't mean that they're yandere
-A character doesn't have to go around killing people to be considered yandere
Okay, with that out of the way, time to talk about my favorite kinds of yandere characters!
I like characters who are subtly manipulative, the characters that mess with their target's perceptions of reality to mold them into someone who can accept their isolation. I like to describe the buildup as "walking into a spider's web, and only after you think to turn around do you realize that it's too late." These characters can appear to be very doting (溺愛) to their targets and lull them into a false sense of security, and usually only show their true selves to people they see as their love rivals. These characters can also be commonly described as haraguro (腹黒) or scheming.
But I can go for any sort of yandere character! I'm not so good with gore tho so I try to avoid that, but any other type has their own appeals. There was this huge chart about the different types of yandere characters and their "symptoms" I found before, maybe I'll dig it up and explain it in detail in another post eventually. But for now I will move on to the next question!
What are some of your favorite yanderes?
I can explain a bit more about the kind of yandere characters I love by using some of my favs as examples! Please note that I read a lot of shoujo, especially because the yandere trope is gaining some good popularity in that demographic, so these are all male yanderes. Though, I do love me a good female yandere character too!
Tumblr media
My absolute favorite yandere character is Haruma from 恋と心臓 (Love and Heart) Seriously, no one does it as well as him. I don't want to spoil anything since it's more fun to experience the craziness yourself and the series is available in English!
But to give a brief summary: Yoh (the main character), having lived a life where she didn't have anyone she could rely on, is incredibly independent. But then her childhood friend (who she doesn't remember), Haruma, moves in with her and suddenly she finds herself in the position of damsel in distress again and again, with Haruma being the only one to save her.
It's a great blend of psychological horror, romcom, and drama with a huge dose of unhealthy relationships and a happy ending! I recommend it to everyone who is comfy with the subject matter.
Tumblr media
Kuroyuki from Nightshade deserves special mention for being the reason I started liking yandere characters in the first place.
I never really got the appeal before him, but when I played Nightshade, I liked him from the start. I tend to love comic relief characters (who are secretly quite sad/serious) so he caught my eye right away and then when the cray-cray hit, I was like,
Oh no, that's hot.
And it was over for me after that lol. Yandere love interests in otome games have a reputation for caging, and Kuroyuki has a subtle approach to this. He spins this (not entirely false) tale that everyone is trying to kill Enju (the main character) except for him, and that he's the only one who could protect her. I won't go into his backstory, but an unhealthy amount of delusions feed into his obsession as well.
The game is fun and intense, and I highly recommend it if you would like to cry. Check out my Why you should play Nightshade PowerPoint here:
Tumblr media
If you're looking for other good otome games with fun yandere characters, I also recommend: Amnesia: Memories, Taisho x Alice, and Mystic Messenger.
After Kuroyuki, I started reading a lot of Japanese webnovels with yandere characters (I literally have a page in my browser with just the yandere tag on shousetsuka ni narou that I browse thru regularly) I could probably do a whole post just about yandere characters in webnovels, but for a quick recommendation, I suggest checking out Kotoko-sensei's (琴子) works or, for something a bit more bizarre, check out Inaida-sensei's (稲井田そう) works. (I once went thru a phase where I was obsessed with all of Inaida-sensei's works around 2~3 years ago.)
Anyways, on to the final question!
What are some yanderes that you like the least?
Well, I tend to dislike the yandere characters that are not well thought out. It's easy enough to put a knife in a character's hand or make them shove someone in a cage, but it's not interesting unless they have a compelling reason why. What leads them to decide they have no other choice but to kill a rival (or their target) or take away their target's freedom?
This is why I tend to dislike side characters who are yandere (especially in harem series) because they're usually not given a whole lot of depth or character building - like a main character would have.
I think a lot of the appeal from yandere characters comes from their depth, complexity, and how they can be hypocritical by nature. I love them but I hate them because they care about other people. I don't want to scare them but I need to protect them. I don't care if they hate me as long as they stay by my side.
If I were to name a yandere character I dislike, though, I would have to say Yuno Gasai (from Future Diary) who is a rather famous case. I don't think she's a bad character - in fact, she's a really great character and a good example of what happens if obsession is left to fester in a high-stakes, dangerous environment. But her character has been boiled down to crazy anime girl who kills a bunch of people for her crush by the internet, which has completely changed the way many people view the word and perceive the trope of "yandere." I just find it irritating and as the self-proclaimed saleswoman of yandere, it makes my job a lot harder.
Can yandere be considered problematic? Sure, absolutely. But does it have to involve murder, rape, gore, or other triggering content? Absolutely not.
(This goes for this whole post, but please note that I am talking about fictional characters, and this in no way reflects real life people)
All in all, I'm very passionate about yandere characters and yandere content. I just find them so compelling, and especially love exploring relationships involving a yandere character - because it usually involves having to come to some sort of compromise. I could probably rant on and on and on about it but this answer is already so long lol
Thank you so much for the ask again! And anyone can feel free to send asks if they would like me to clarify on any of this! I do love ranting about these sorts of things

tlou tv show thots (under a cut for spoilers):
GOOD: sarah opening section 11/10. absolutely brutal to put things in her pov for an extended section and then have her be the one who died. i thought you know ive seen this a zillion times it wont get me! but it got me. also like. the rising dread with the coughing and people showing symptoms because you know and she doesn't?? ooouuggghhhh
GOOD: tommy hot. sorry it must be said
GOOD: the thing with the blurry old lady scared the shit out of me. i got like horror movie scared
BAD: don't like the tendrils. apparently they are using these instead of spores and there's no biting off chunks of people anymore. they look like vampires drinking blood. really loses something imo
BAD: again, i was constantly anxious about no gas masks. AIRBORNE PANDEMIC AND NO MASKS? you all deserve to get eaten by zombies
GOOD: the 60s show set at the beginning. when they said that thing about the earth getting warmer CAUSING IT i nearly spat out my dinner. like legit screamed. that was the scariest part of the whole show. some jerkoff in 68 going well what if for some weird reason the earth became warmer? then cordyceps could be real. FUCK YOOOUUU
BAD: the exposition. it wasn't like. THAT bad but it got a little annoying. especially when the characters pointedly called each other by name to introduce each other lol. be more subtle
BAD: some of the edginess was a little over-the-top. why a plane crash instead of a car crash? why the big production about the public execution? you don't need big shit like that to shock audiences. tlou is a thing built on subtlety. let it breathe
MIXED: i wish tess had gotten to shoot robert bc that's so cool and fun and sexy of her but i understood why they sped through it. he truly is just the tutorial
MIXED: joel looking for tommy??? i feel like this really glosses over the "this ain't boston lay your hands on me again and i'll fuck you up" thing. why is tommy even still hanging out with him. it's good shorthand for the whole thing with the car battery i GUESS but like :/
GOOD: ellie and joel are both perfectly cast. ellie's potty mouth and joel's gruffness are both perfect. also i LOOOVE that marlene's VA gets to play her irl too i love when they do that shit. she is so beautiful as well it must be said
GOOD: radio smuggler's code. i love how quick ellie figured it out and i loved ending on funky 80s music. was not expecting that at ALL
BAD: ik a tv show can't throw you directly into the action the way a game would, but some of the pacing felt absolutely GLACIAL. i feel like what they were doing was worldbuilding maybe but then why rush through the robert section? even the sarah section was just the teensiest tiniest bit too long. this was an hour and 20 minutes. let's trim some of this down, people!!
GOOD: marlene like you don't have a fuckin ear on your fuckin head kim. so true she literally doesn't. i feel like tlou the game relies on ellie for most of its comic relief and since she wasn't in most of the episode they had to find it in other ways but they did and thats good
BAD: ellie wasn't in most of the ep??
GOOD: they had my tilted building which i love sooo much. i hope they go in it next week
anyway don't let this post fool you while i did have a few notes i mostly had a great time. ABSOLUTELY relieved let me tell you

AtLA Analysis Rewatch: S1E7: Winter Solstice Part 1, The Spirit World
Intro: Man, it's been a while since my last one! I have no idea whether I'll be able to do it all in one day, or start the day I'm starting this draft, but I think I should start anyways, just to make some progress. If I'm not mistaken, this is the episode with Hei Bei and the burnt forest around the village. But: let's get into it!
Let's skip the intro for now, because I procrastinated and don't think I have time. (This is two days after I wrote the intro, rip me.)
The Previously section: two focuses, on Aang being the Avatar and on Katara's necklace being lost. I don't think it's a coincidence that a lot of scenes used for the Avatar emphasis have a spiritual connotation; the statues in the Air Temple, the Fire Sages in their temple, Bumi talking about the duty of the Avatar.
It's interesting how "The Avatar must restore balance by defeating Fire Lord Ozai" is really blatantly stated. It makes sense--the series needs a direction to go, an overarching goal/plotline--but the directness of it, compared to the subtlety with which a lot of other aspects of being the Avatar and the setting and characters in general is approached, is a little odd. Or maybe that's just me having spend so long vibing with my fellow Ozai/villain fans and not watching the show in way too long.
What trees are those shown in the beginning of the episode? Obviously deciduous, with round and very thick canopies. Also, the hawks is bright red; is it the same species as the Fire Nation messenger hawks? It's almost certainly male, though.
Aang just jumps straight into the clouds--impulsiveness--but brings his staff--enough wisdom/foresight to not die. Thank god. Also, the 'turns out clouds are made of water' line--am I wrong? Is this the fortune-teller village episode? (Also, would you really get that soaked from jumping into a cloud? It's basically just fog but higher up, right?)
Okay, so it is the burned-forest episode, as I thought. Also, the forests themselves look very thick (and very green), which makes me surprised that the forest fire didn't reach a lot farther; thick forests like that are generally conducive to really strong wildfires, along with a high percentage of young trees that haven't built up bark to survive and--guess what?--suppression of smaller natural fires, which makes easily-burnable debris build up. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here but forest fires are an important part of a forest's life cycle, and it looks like the forest here has seen a lot of fire suppression. Which is probably why the 'scarred' part of the forest looks so bad, with no trees that survived or anything. Although ash is full of nutrients, generally, so why haven't faster-growing smaller plants moved in yet?
But enough about the forest fire, I guess. Even if it's not accurately portrayed at all.
There is an interesting character/philosophical moment that goes on here. Aang feels responsible for this forest burning down ("how could I let this happen?") and while Katara feels otherwise ("You didn't let this happen") Aang doesn't listen to her, saying that it's his job as the Avatar and that he doesn't know how to do his job. Which is odd, because he's 12, he shouldn't have this responsibility--it's canon that the Avatar should only know they're the Avatar at 16--and because the burnt area is a tiny, tiny fraction of the world. It's a symptom, not the systems the Avatar is supposed to work on the level of.
When Sokka asks about how Aang is supposed to talk to Roku, you can hear the compassion in his voice--he's trying to be sensitive, obviously, but it's also in his nature to be practical and well-grounded.
We see Iroh again, but his antics in the hot springs make it clear that his character hasn't yet switched from the comic relief old man of the early episodes to the wise mentor figure he is in later seasons. Also, Zuko's insistence that his troubles "cannot be soaked away"-- is he refusing to rest or relax, no matter how tired or burnt out he gets? That sort of tunnel vision is not going to help him. At all.
Iroh also calls himself Zuko's 'teacher,' rather than Uncle. Not sure what that's supposed to say.
"Are you ready to be cheered up?" Katara doesn't jump straight into trying to make Aang happy; she knows the importance of grieving and letting yourself feel sad.
What was the old man doing wandering out there? What's his job? Why was he alone? He was probably looking for the flying bison, but again, why is he alone? Are there others searching for it? (Also, why aren't his clothes all ashy?)
The destruction Hei Bei caused, shown in the village--what stage of rebuilding are they in? Most of the buildings are fine, but one part of one of them is just a frame that's all broken--how the hell did it get like that??? Also, are those roof tiles the only thing the roof is made of? That doesn't seem like wise building sense, unless it's a cultural thing that I'm missing.
"It is the greatest honor to be in your presence!" Aang didn't even bat an eye at that. Maybe he's getting used to being the Avatar, or grateful that he has something he can do as the Avatar after running into the burnt forest and blaming himself.
How many people are in the hall? It doesn't look like a whole lot. I'm not going to do the counting like I did with the SWT. Are there any other families or people in other buildings? What are the people doing there in the hall? Is this an agricultural town? What is its source of income? Does it trade? How did they build those buildings and what are they for? I know I'm not gonna get answers but STILL
Oooh, Hei Bai, not Hei Bei. My bad.
Why doesn't Katara know about the Winter Solstice bringing the Spirit World closer? Does it not interact with the human world unless there are enough humans gathered? Perhaps it's a symptom of the cultural destruction of the SWT. (Or perhaps it's prompting exposition for the audience, which, fair.)
Katara again displays an ability to pick up on other's emotions, and Aang brings up his inexperience ("I don't know anything") at being the Avatar. But Aang tries anyways, because someone is in need and he is in a position to help even if he doesn't have the expertise.
Iroh doesn't seem all too concerned about missing Zuko's deadline, probably familiar with a teenager's empty threats. His interactions with the meadow mole give us the first (I think) glimpse into his later characterizations of 'wise mentor.' In fact, with the EK soldiers trying to take him prisoner (and calling him the once-great General Iroh) this episode also is the first time in which the series starts to take him seriously.
Should have written this earlier, but why is Hei Bai choosing to abduct villagers? And why only one at a time? (The probably explanation is to keep it kid-friendly, but what about in-universe?)
I find it funny how much grandstanding Aang did right before Hei Bai showed up, and also how oblivious he was to the massive spirit walking right behind him. Did the spirit's footsteps make sound? Did Aang just not hear him? (Also, why wasn't he more afraid?)
Aang trying to reason with something that is clearly acting like a wild animal (and therefore probably can't be reasoned with)--what is Aang's experience with spirits? Has he had any direct experience? What were the stories and lore surrounding spirits in the Air Temples?
Sokka holds back on going out to help until Aang gets hurt, and then he immediately runs out to try and fight Hei Bai. Loyalty and practicality.
Of course, Zuko's threat to leave without his uncle was empty, and Zuko went looking for him. I wonder how long it took for Zuko to suspect something was up. Not to mention that Zuko knew by looking at the rock formations that it was earthbending, even though his soldiers thought it was a landslide. (Unlikely, methinks.) Perhaps the person who brought up the idea of Zuko's crew being much newer than 3 years, and them being traded out as punishment/disgrace on the regular, was right. If so, that soldier would be a lot less experienced with earthbending than Zuko.
The EK soldiers use ostrich-horses while the FN soldiers use komodo-rhinos. Cultural differences in values (speed vs intimidation/fight capability) or differences in resources (which species is native to where)? Also, what is the armor they're using for their ostrich horses? How do they get the metal? (god i have so many worldbuilding questions--)
This is the first time that someone's mentioned what Iroh has done as a FN General: the Siege of Ba Sing Se. 600 days is a long time, almost 2 years, and it likely would have wreaked havoc on their food/water supply, especially if Iroh was smart and cut off outside sources. And Ba Sing Se is a big city, which means that hundreds, probably thousands, of people died during that siege, from hunger, thirst, or unrest. Unfortunately, while the Siege of BSS is a Thing Iroh Did, it's never really properly in the series; as much as I love the Dai Li as antagonists ("There is no war in Ba Sing Se" and "The Earth King has invited you to Lake Laogai" will absolutely give you chills if you know the context) that suppression of knowledge and talk of the war prevents the show from grappling with the long-lasting effects of that siege. Of course, most of the death toll was likely in the lower ring, among the lower classes, and we all know the lower classes don't matter! And if the lower ring's population depletes then BSS can just take in a bunch of refugees to replenish it and keep up a big workforce, right? God, the entire situation is fucked.
But. Back to the actual episode.
Iroh doesn't even mention Lu Ten dying. Smart, who knows what these EK soldiers know? Leaving the shoe on the ground after falling off the ostrich-horse, also smart.
So we have confirmation that spirits (or at least, spirit-touched humans) can walk in the human world undetected. (I doubt that Aang's statement of "I'm in the spirit world!" is fully accurate.)
Iroh canonically has stinky feet. June will show up later in the series, but I still find that funny. (Also, what if it's genetic?)
So, Roku's dragon appears, but without Roku. You might argue that it's because Roku is inside Aang, as his past life, but later Roku shows up outside Aang to talk to him in the Spirit World proper, so that theory, while still possible, doesn't have a lot of evidence for it.
Those spines on the dragon's back don't look so comfy to sit on. Do they stop near the neck?
So, Iroh can see spirits that other humans can't. This episode references/teases his past a lot, apparently, even if first-time viewers don't know his past.
Okay, why can the dragon and Aang go through walls/ceilings when it's convenient and then walk around like normal?
Given the significance of dates such as the winter solstice, the solar eclipse, it's no wonder that astronomy is so important in the worldbuilding of the spiritual side of AtLA. What I want to know is, what are the least spiritual days of the year? The solstices are both very spiritual, but what about the equinoxes? Eclipses clearly block spiritual power here (at least in the minds of the benders) but what about other celestial phenomena?
I also want to know how shrines and statues like the one in the forest interact with the spirits they're supposed to represent. Are they shows of respect from humans to spirits? Do they increase spirits' power? Do they 'anchor' a spirit to a particular place? What spirits like them? What about the shrines do they like?
That's some serious physical strength from Zuko, pushing aside a massive rock (that's being earthbent) and shattering a chain with his heel. What else can he do? In addition, where and when did Iroh learn to fight like that with chains?
Sokka's practicality again: "I need to use the bathroom," "You could give us supplies/money." Utterly shameless, too.
Where is Crescent Island on the map? Where is Hei Bai's village on the map? What's the distance between them? How far are they making Appa fly?
And that's the final credits! I ended up having to space this out over two days, so perhaps I wasn't as 'in the groove' as I hoped, but hey. Another episode that I managed to get out.

How did u like the new season of cobra kai!
Hey there!!!
This is gonna be a long post because I’m getting all the opinions and feelings out!!! So sorry!!!
Disclaimer: I LOVE COBRA KAI!!!! These are just my opinions and how I feel.. I’m not hating I’m just stating disappointments that I had.
ALSO SPOILERS!!!! THIS IS DISCUSSING SEASON 5 OF COBRA KAI!!!! If you haven’t watched yet then don’t read! 😊
I liked this season decently. I think it was kinda rushed and left a lot of loose ends and the characters weren’t 100% fleshed out. But Cobra Kai is only working with 30-40 minute episodes so I guess it’d be hard to get it all in.
With every season of Cobra Kai there are pros and a bunch of cons. I personally wish they would’ve focused on the teens more. I don’t really remember Hawk or Demetri much from this season.. they truly got pushed into the background.. and it was very disappointing. I’m glad Robby and Miguel are besties now! I think they’re gonna have a good story going on!
Also, I like how the season was more mature as well, we had some F-words being thrown around, blood spurting everywhere, and uhm.. like a lot of other bad ass stuff lol! But yeah, I liked that the show is growing up with the characters as well.. kinda getting the Stranger Things symptom. 😂
But of course this season was good and I’m gonna rewatch multiple times!!
The adults… oh gosh.. the adults.. where do I even begin??
They made Johnny look like an idiot. Okay, we know he’s an idiot like endearingly and we love it. But there were some scenes and some of the writing that just baffled me. Johnny was almost a neanderthal in this season.. I was not impressed by the writing for him at all. They practically ruined his character this season idk what they’re trying to do but.. I’m over it!
Also, love the idea of Miguel/Robby being big bros together but hated the idea of Johnny getting Carmen pregnant.. you feel me??
Daniel-San, we love him. I love him. He’s great. He’s always a solid character. Could he have used some better storylines or arch’s? Maybe. 🤣
Chozen!!! A bean!!!! I cannot!!!! But! I really didn’t appreciate how they just chalked him up to comic relief. I know they had to make him likable and comic relief is usually the way to go but idk.. I just wanted more, I guess. But we can’t always get what we want! 🤷‍♀️
And honestly all the other adults didn’t get a great amount of screen time to even talk about here.. well, besides Silver, fuck that dude 😂 he makes a great villain!
Safe to say, will all the shit that came with this season I’m hoping that the next season rights those wrongs!!!

So I finished watching the last episode of Demon Slayer last night, so here are my thoughts on the entire anime as a whole
[OBVIOUSLY MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD]
God that ending. Fuck. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show successfully get me to fucking beg for a dumb bullshit plot armor deus ex machina before. I don’t care if it made no sense I don’t care if it’s bad writing I’m just happy Nezuko survived. And the sheer amount of skill it takes to make me care about a character that much is impressive.
I’m kind of sad that we didn’t get any filler in the latter seasons. I would’ve loved to see how the relationship between the main 4 changed during and after each major arc. Also I want more yaoi moments.
Jar guy’s final form is honestly kinda hot
I could write a whole essay on how effectively the writers utilized unreliable worldbuilding to show us that demons are all evil and Nezuko is the only exception, then slowly lead us to the conclusion that nonviolent demons have always existed and purposely make themselves as invisible as possible. I cannot stress enough how good the worldbuilding in this show is
I appreciate the lengths that the series goes through to humanize it’s villains and show us how the demons are pushed into lives of violence as symptoms of larger systemic issues
That being said, the “sudden backstory montage right before the monster of the week dies” starts to feel a bit lazy after the 10th time they do it. I understand that all these character backstories couldn’t succinctly fit in the first season, but it leaves us with a lot of deaths that could’ve been a lot more impactful if we had been introduced to these characters earlier. I’ll have to read the manga and see if it’s handled better
On the topic of lazy writing, I’m really not a fan of Zenitsu’s whole “sleep transformation” thing. It feels like a gimmicky way to get out of writing character growth
Back to the good stuff now. 52 episodes and the main character does not fall in love with a single person. Aros everywhere are celebrating
When I first heard the premise of the entertainment district arc, that the 3 male main characters disguise themselves as women to infiltrate a brothel, I was completely ready to drop the series. But if I’m being honest, they handled that arc just about perfectly. I obviously can’t speak for the transgender community and maybe I’m just ignorant, but the whole arc seemed pretty supportive of the concept of changing your gender. I’d argue that Zenitsu seemed a lot more happy and fulfilled as a girl than they did as a boy. The series also has one of the best depictions of sex workers I’ve seen on television
Everything in mugen train was literally perfect. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. I hope whoever wrote that arc gets $750,000,000 in the mail and free gourmet meals forever.
I love Inosuke’s gay ass crush on Tanjiro. King shit
I complained about Zenitsu’s character arc earlier but I must admit his writing in the spider forest mini-arc was fucking phenomenal. We love it when comic relief characters experience personal growth and start to carry serious narrative weight
The way that Nezuko speaks at the very end. She speaks slowly and abruptly. She can only manage a word or two at a time, and even then only simple ones. It takes her 3 whole attempts to say her first word. Its so god damn impactful watching her stumble through speech after spending so long being physically incapable of speaking. I love that scene so much
I really hope we get a season 5. I want to know where tanjiro and Nezuko go from here. Do they stay in the corps? Do they settle down to a peaceful life, now that Nezuko is, in most respects, functionally human? Or is Nezuko not content with her current state, leading them to continue searching for a total cure? How will the more skeptical and conservative hashira react to knowing that Nezuko, who they already consider a liability, is now powerful enough to withstand direct sunlight? How will her relationships with Inosuke and Zenitsu change? All of these questions would be answered if I read the manga but I’m too lazy to do that so I’m gonna have to wait for the next season, if they make one.
Overall this was one of, if not The Best, shonen anime ever made

The Unbelievable Gwenpool (2016) #0 Part 2
Tumblr media
Writer - Christopher Hastings
Penciler and Inker - Danilo Beyruth
Colorist - Tamra Bonvillain
CONTINUATION OF PART 1
Comic and characters all belong to Marvel Comics
Gwenpool and Howard overlook the Hydra base from a rooftop. Gwenpool asks Howard if ducks can fly with Howard letting out a nervous quack. That is when Gwenpool, grabbing Howard by the feet, jumps off the building with Howard rapidly flapping crying out that he can't fly! The Hydra guards are confused as to who they are.
Tumblr media
Gwenpool lands on one of the guards and tosses Howard head first into another, knocking out the guard as she exclaims how she loves to survive jumping of tall things and how it's her favorite. Howard scurries away in a panic as Gwenpool then pulls out a knife and throws it straight into a guards head. Gwenpool compliments herself and then grabs the panicked Howard, showing him the door. She tells him they can go inside now and Howard let's out a sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
Inside the base, a Burnette in green spandex admires an infected Hydra agent in a containment field satisfied with the symptoms of the disease. She plans to have the dust released in the subway system and have the disease spread through the air currents. Hydra will then be in control with them having the cure. Gwenpool decides that is a good time to come out of her hiding spot guns drawn yelling that she is going to stop them, blowing their cover to Howard's dismay. The Hydra woman is confused as she easily disarms telling her that she was the one who sold it to them. Gwenpool pulls out two knifes answering that she was made to feel bad about it. The Hydra woman easily restrains her commenting that Gwenpool is a bad fighter. Gwenpool breaks out and tells her that she doesn't need her weapons to defeat her because she knows Madame Hydra's weakness.
Tumblr media
But the woman isn't Madame Hydra unfortunately. Gwenpool decides to think fast and instead dives for the box.
Tumblr media
Gwenpool then swallows all of the contents in the box to keep Hydra from using it.
Tumblr media
Lady Hydra is shocked! She tries to run away because Gwenpool is now contagious but Howard gets in her way as he pushes a table on top of her. Howard then asks if Gwenpool has some sort of healing factor. Gwenpool answers that she doesn't but she saw the Hydra soldiers symptoms and told herself that it's mumps so not to worry, she's vaccinated.
Tumblr media
Howard, panicked, tells her that they have the mumps and the mumps vaccine on this universe too, those are not the mumps! Gwenpool's body begins to swell all over her body and asks Lady Hydra about the vaccine. Lady Hydra gives it to her without hesitation before they all catch it themselves.
Tumblr media
After stopping Hydra and saving the city, Howard meets up with Black Cat to give her the box. She is none the less surprised he managed to get it back but disappointed he wasn't able to find the girl. But before the exchange can happen, a cultist shows up and asks her for the virus back to which Black Cat at first refuses but the cultists offers her more money than what she brought the box for. She accepts and happily leaves with her millions.
Tumblr media
Turns out that the cultist was actually Gwenpool in disguise. Howard praises her as she seems to be starting to understand how to be a hero. Gwenpool is upset at having to give up so much money. Howard scold her and tells her that from one outcast from another universe to another, he welcomes her to her new home now and should stop trying to destroy it.
Tumblr media
The two head back to the city with Howard asking Gwenpool how she got to this universe, sharing that he got here through a reality nexus. Gwenpool avoids the question with answers like a wardrobe, a tornado, a rabbit hole and so Howard decides to leave it .
Howard the Duck goes on in HOWARD THE DUCK (2016) #1
Gwenpool's story continues in GWENPOOL'S HOLIDAY ADVENTURE
The series continues in THE UNBELIEVABLE GWENPOOL #1

Why I’m obsessed with Encanto, a list:
- body diversity: all of the characters are so unique, from their physique to the color and texture of their hair and their clothes
- Mirabel’s VA, favorite lines being, “BRUNO! YOUR ROOM IS THE WORST!” and “ISABELA?” when she learns she has to hug her sister to make the candle brighter
- Luisa’s VA, favorite line being, “You’re gonna make me drop a donkey!”
- Pepa’s VA, favorite line being, “What do you want from me?”
- Pepa and Félix
- Félix
- Choreography
- Parents are present and active in their kids’ lives
- Comic relief animals used sparingly
- Comic relief cousin Camilo used just right
- Luisa alternating between hip-bumping boulders into oblivion to “Drip, drip, drip” and dropping her shoulder while donkeys fall slowly around her
- The way “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is layered, from mischievous grin to fucking seven-foot monster with rats on his back who kills goldfish and makes people bald for fun
- That priest whining about his hair disappearing, lmao, that voice
- Romance is NOT a major plot point
- Mirabel’s secret weapon is listening and empathy
- Bruno
- Mirabel dropping Bruno when a rat comes out of his sleeve, I would have done the same thing
- BYE.
- knock knock knock knock knock on wood
- a little salt
- sugar
- the likelihood that Bruno developed OCD or OCD-like symptoms due to the unpredictable nature of his “gift” (I REALLY want to read him as autistic, because I’m an autistic adult with adult-siblings getting married and having babies, but the gift would have had such a massive impact on his development that I can’t say he’d be the same without it)
- how about the fucking diversity of what being an adult can be, from getting married and having children (the stuff we’re supposed to do) to just vibing and loving your family without being super dependent on them
-  just the COMPLEXITY of adults in this movie. They aren’t the enemies and they aren’t saviors. They’re vulnerable.
- Alma’s grief, the shape of her mouth in that flashback gives me stomach pain
- Bruno can’t get off a horse after living a decade in a wall, don’t tell me that’s not hilarious and appropriate
- When Alma touches Bruno’s face, kisses his cheek, then takes his hand and leads him off screen
- Also Alma looking at Bruno as she confesses her mistake in song
- Magical triplets as a concept. It’s like something out of a fairy tale. I love it.
- Magical triplet group hug
- “What’s that? Not a house.”
- Camilo dropping the shovel in “All of You” and looking around to see if anyone noticed
- Luisa admitting that she cries sometimes and Isabela and Mirabel hugging her and singing in unison, “So do I!”
- “All of You,” when the family sings to Mirabel as she walks up to the door with the doorknob, I cry
- The house is magic again

alright, I've been meaning to do this for a while now, so here goes nothing
i got diagnosed with dyslalia at 11, but my parents only revealed that to me at 14, when I'd already left my speech therapist and was, supposedly, "treated". I had no contact with her and was denied access to any useful information about my diagnosis and treatment, and this only became worse when I noticed I wasn't even treated. In fact, it became worse.
my dyslalia now affects my day-to-day severely, to the point I've started to develop symptoms of other speech conditions, like stuttering, and my reading comprehension has decreased as well, with no other possible explanation. communication is vital for people, and I can't do it effectively without taking five minutes on a sentence or getting mocked.
and worse of all, i have no one to talk about this with, because despite being extremely common, dyslalia is an often overlooked condition, which deprives many people from necessary treatment and support- which I've witnessed before.
that's what I want to help fix, i want to spread awareness to dyslalia so people are aware of it, and can seek help or support their friends or family. maybe someone will decide to make a good character that has it, or finally speak up about their struggles, or do research- anything. maybe none of this will happen but one person will see this and decide to leave an ask and talk about their experiences, who knows.
my starting plan is to collect good, non-ableist resources that include teens and adults with the conditions, diagnostic criteria and basic statistics, to help cover some bases. I'll either make a carrd or a masterpost or both, who knows, but I need help collecting that information. I've found some useful things but it's still scarce.
so, I'm leaving my ask box open to anyone who's curious about dyslalia to ask any, good faith question, and etc. I'm tired of living like I'm a comic relief character or a mockery.
I have a small follower count but it's worth a shot, right? It's worth to try
Thank you for reading and have a good day

So you want to write an autistic character
So I watched the trailer for Sia’s movie just to see if it really was that bad. Spoiler alert: Yes it is. It made me feel like Sia was making fun of me for two and a half minutes. But it also made me really fucking angry because there’s not autism representation to begin with, and most of what we do have isn’t really that great, which is what drove me to make this post. I don’t have many followers so even if like 3 people see this, then at least that’s 3 people who have seen this.
What would I like to see less of
Literally incapable of detecting sarcasm: “Wait,” you say, “But Starfast, there are autistic people out there who are like this!” Sure, there might be, but for me personally detecting sarcasm is a lot less difficult than literally every autistic character has made it out to be. Yes, there are times where it goes right over my head but those times are usually when there’s not enough context for me to figure out whether the person is being sarcastic or not. Some of us actually are able to tell when you’re being sarcastic, it usually depends on context.
The “Sheldon Cooper”:  Autism is really diverse and yet I feel like 99% of autistic characters are basically all just carbon copies of Sheldon Cooper from BBT. They’re maybe overly formal, blunt, or have a hard time picking up social cues. And while these are all things that are commonly associated with autism (although this type of character rarely shows any major downsides to having autism, more on that later), like I said earlier, autism is different for everyone. Not all of us are going to feel represented by this type of character. Honestly I don’t even relate to a lot of autistic characters because they just keep reusing the same autistic stock characters and that’s really disheartening to me. It’s almost like they’re not making autistic characters for autistic people.
The Burden: This probably doesn’t need to be explained that much but it was the one thing that really pissed me off about S**’s movie. In the trailer, I really got the very distinct impression that the older sister saw Music as a burden. Her life was just oh so difficult because she had this autistic sister. No one wants to be thought of that way. And idk if you neurotypicals know this but autistic people have feelings and we hear it loud and clear when you say these kinds of things and it hurts.
Using autism as a punchline: I think it’s fine to have an autistic character to provide comic relief, BUT! if your comic relief involves laughing at an autistic character’s very autistic behaviour then you’re doing it wrong. This kind of goes back to my first point- the reason why I hate seeing the “incapable of detecting sarcasm” character is because it’s almost exclusively played for laughs. Please stop making fun of us.
What would I like to see more of
Diversity: I feel like this doesn’t really need much explaining. Autism can affect anyone regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, etc. And yet most autistic characters I’ve encountered are straight white guys. Let’s see more girls, more POCs, more LGBT+ who are autistic.
Obvious drawbacks/struggles: When I talked about the Sheldon Cooper-type character I mentioned that this type of character doesn’t really seem to face many challenges that are directly related to autism. What I mean by this is that sometimes they’ll maybe just miss the odd social cue and it’s kinda embarrassing but it rarely gets worse than that. An autistic character is going to face challenges that a neurotypical won’t ever have to deal with and if you don’t acknowledge that then you’re not really properly portraying an autistic character. Show more autistic characters struggling to make friends, having meltdowns or experiencing sensory overload, having a hard time articulating themselves. The list goes on, honestly.
Actually saying it: Have you ever seen it where there’s a certain character and a bunch of people go “hey, that character seems like they could be [insert literally any minority] and then the creator goes “Oh, yeah that’s totally what I intended!” I personally don’t really like this, because it feels kind of disingenuous. If you’re going to write an autistic character, it would be nice to have that brought up within the story. Autism isn’t a dirty word, you’re allowed to say it. The only exception I can think of would be if you’re writing a historical fiction or some other setting where autism hasn’t been recognized but most examples I can think of don’t fall into that category whoop there it is.
Literally just anything that isn’t a stereotype. This seems to be setting the bar pretty low, but it still needs to be said. Autism looks different for everyone and just because someone doesn’t fit the mold for a stereotypical autistic person doesn’t mean they’re not autistic. No one wants to be represented by a stereotype.
“I’m not autistic but I want to write an autistic character. Can I do that?”
I can’t speak for the entire autistic community when I answer this but my opinion is yes, it’s ok provided that you’re being respectful and doing research beyond reading symptoms off of WebMD. That being said, here’s my final advice:
Listen and talk to autistic people: If you’re not listening to the group you’re trying to represent then you’re not doing a good job. There are lots of people here out there who would be willing to answer your questions or be a sensitivity reader. There’s a lot of people here on tumblr who are willing to answer your questions (you can even ask me, but I’m just one person and I don’t have all the answers. I’d recommend talking to multiple people).
Autism Speaks is not your friend: There’s been a lot of talk about why this organization sucks, but it mostly boils down to trying to end autism and not actually helping us. So make sure you’re steering clear of them while you’re doing your research.
Reddit and Quora are actually great resources: Reason being is that these kinds of sites will give you lots of first hand information about being autistic, and that’s the best kind of information to have, usually. Most sites will just list symptoms, but the right reddit/quora thread will provide more insight about how these symptoms affect their daily life. Additionally, you’ll have multiple people offering their own views and since autism is so different for everyone it’s good to have more than one person’s opinion (psst... this tip works for writing other minority characters too!)

Tyson isn’t dumb
Tyson is one of my favorite characters in the Riordanverse, I loved him since his first appearance, he was so sweet and kind. And I really dislike the way he was treated by the books and sometimes by the fandom. So, this post is kind of my love letter to him.
Tyson is a guy who passed through a lot of stuff. He was homeless and orphan, as far as we know the first time he received a formal education was when he attended the same school Percy was going. He was attacked by monsters that lived nearby and had no friends. When he got to camp half-blood he was mocked, avoided and excluded. The only two people who were nice to him were Percy and Beckendorf, and Percy felt ashamed for being related to Tyson (I think this was the only time I got mad with Percy). He passed through a life/death situation, his own kind said he wasn’t a good cyclops, he saw his childhood hero disappoint him, he fought wars, he felt devalued by his father during the fights in the Last Olympian, he lost Beckendorf the first person to be nice to him in camp half-blood, he saw his brother, his first (and for some time only) friend disappear and for months had no information about him. Tyson suffered a lot, for a long time he had no one to offer kindness, love, and affection to him.
He could be an angry, spiteful, full of hatred and revenge person, but he is not and that’s why I like him so much. Tyson is an easygoing, happy, kind, gentle, compassionate, nice, and loving being. He has a strong sense of right and wrong. And the thing is that he chooses every time to be like that. People, Tyson tries hard like no one else in the series to be the best version of himself every time. He is always kind and gentle, he is always trying to do not let his negative emotions affect how he interacts with people, I think the only time he did so was if Briares disappointed him. He passed through horrible experiences, but he continues to be amazed and feel delight by life. He is capable of feeling genuine joy by the little things. And this is so amazing. The strength he has to do that all time is something so incredible.
Now let’s talk about the post’s title, Tyson isn’t dumb.
You know he remembers me a lot of Kronk, they are both seemed as not intelligent by people because they are happy, easygoing, kind and gentle. Which is so unfair because Kronk has an incredible memory, an amazing knowledge about nature, can speak squirrel and is really good at multitasking. Anyway, I’ll analyze the reason why Tyson is seen as dumb by Percy, the other character, the fandom and why they are wrong.
He uses simple words. And again, Tyson grew up in the streets and he only had one year of formal educations. Of course, he is not going to have a large vocabulary. Other thing is when he calls Chiron pony and says fish pony. Let’s try to see this by his perspective: Tyson was mistreated by Annabeth, then saw his first and only friend be attacked by a monster and be in mortal danger. It was a difficult situation and now he is in a place where he isn’t really welcomed. But then he sees something that he really likes, a pony! He gets really happy, yes there is a human body connected to the body, but he doesn’t care about the human part. What he likes are ponies. The guy says he is a centaur, but who cares about it? Not Tyson. He likes ponies, and in front of him there is a pony. A light in the end of the dark tunnel. It wasn’t him being dumb, he was just trying to feel better and therefore focusing in what makes him feel better.
A not good understanding of social situations. Tyson didn’t understand that people were mocking him in Sea of Monsters. And you know why? It is because Tyson has an intellectual disability. This isn’t a headcanon. Tyson acts more like a neurodivergent person than Percy. It is not him being childish or naive, it is his intellectual disability. It is not a flaw. It is not his fault, what happens is that the people around him do not offer any support with this symptom of his disability. He has a problem about reading social situations, everyone knows what but no one tries to explain things to him or help him understand what is happening.
Peanut butter. It is interesting that Tyson chose that as his war cry. Because again he has the ability to feel joy and be amazed by little things. So he is at his really bad situation, a war, such a horrible experience to anyone, and he decides that his war cry will be a good thing, something that makes him feel happy. If you people can realize that Leo uses jokes as a coping mechanism, why can’t you see that Tyson does the same? When he is experiencing a terrible situation instead of feeling bad and miserable he decides to focus and little and simple things that make him feel happy.
His appearance. Tyson isn’t good-looking, a lot of times is seen wearing not appropriate clothes and with his mouth dirty of food. And yeah of course he is like that, he grew up in the streets!!! Do you think he had someone to taught him good manners? To taught him about fashion? The boy learned basically everything by himself.
His childish personality and “simple” way he sees the world. First Tyson is a child, he is a really young cyclops, he is younger than Percy. Second, he has a strong sense of right and wrong, which is common trait in autistic people, and just because he continued with a strong moral view of the world through the series it doesn’t mean he can’t understand the complexity of the situations. Other thing is how he plays a lot or is happy all the time. Again, he isn’t good reading social situation, it is not his fault if he wants to be happy whenever he can, and it happens that a people are feeling bad when he does that. He is always super cheerful when he talks and for some reason this is seem as a lack of intelligence. Why the boy being excited to do things he likes is seem as flaw?
Can we talk about how he is written as a burden to Percy sometimes? How the text tells us how difficult it is to Percy to have an intellectual disabled brother, how that makes his life harder. Or how he is used as a comic relief? The traits that makes him neurodivergent are always being used as a joke.
You know I dislike so much how it is always a surprise to everyone the fact that he is smart, he understands the gravity of the situations, it makes me so mad. Just because he is happy and appreciates little things people assume all the time that he isn’t smart.
Tyson deserves more love and respect. He is a sweetheart like no one in the series not because he is dumb, or didn’t pass through traumatic experiences, but because he chooses to be.
Unfortunately, I’m not very good with writing texts, so I wasn’t able to live up to Tyson.
Best regards,
Me.
Ps. There are people who talk about how bad it is that Annabeth diminishes Percy intelligence all the time, but where are the people acknowledging that Ella only sees Tyson as a strong and cute guy? She also seems to see him as not smart like everyone else. It is so sad.

If you want me to write more extensive about this and other characters' globophobia, I'll do it.
I've always liked the fact that some characters have fears or phobias, they make them easier to empathize). And now imagine that the characters have our phobia, it's the not you are alone, you are not crazy that we need sometimes. But without further blahblah let's get started
-Komodo (Animal Mechanicals): This is the character that enlightened me as a child and for whom I make this list. Mechanimals are, that, robot animals, that go on missions, learn things, a preschool series basically. In this episode, they had to go to a volcano that releases balloons, but they were exploding, and they had to find a way to stop them. And as they go to the island, one of the balloons explodes and Komodo freaks out, and BOOM, my child's mind lit up. The simple fact that a character has my fear changed my world. [You can find this chapter on YouTube: Balloon Volcano Island]
Tumblr media
-Lacey (Corner Gas): I found this from pure searching. In short, they throw a party for this character Lacey, who seems to have balloonphobia, and then at the end of the chapter she goes to therapy with a friend who also has it and now she can take them better. [You can find this chapter in some "third party" service]
-Clyde (The Loud House): Another that I found watching cartoons. In one chapter, Lincoln's friend, Clyde, mentions having strange reactions when trying to blow up balloons (the typical symptoms, dizziness, blurred vision, etc.) And although he tries to overcome it, he still cannot.
-BoBoiBoy: This series shows how far off the internet I managed to get by looking for info about my phobia hahahaha. In short, it is an Malaysian series about a boy with superpowers. In one of those, his enemy catches him, and takes him to a torture room to get information from him, where by mistake his henchmen throw him a party. Angry by mistake he pops a balloon, and discovers that BBB scares him. They put him to the limit and he manages to unleash his superpower. [You can find this scene on YouTube]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Roy (The IT Crowd): Now with a series a little more known. Roy mentions that he is going to a party, which his friend asks if it was that he did not like parties, to which he responds one of the best phrases I use to explain my phobia "Balloons explode Jen, they explode so suddenly and unexpectedly, that they have the capacity to give me a little fright, and I find that unbearable." [You can find the scene on YouTube]
Tumblr media
-Snails (MLPEg): Of all this was the most unexpected. In this special of "Choose your ending", the equestria girls should see how to move props in the background of a theater easily, if you choose the Pinkie Pie, she will change things for balloons so that they move more easily. Between scenes, Snail mentions that he is not afraid of balloons, which can be seen as obviously not, and even accompanies his friend when he is scared to explode one. [You can find this chapter on YouTube: MLPEqG: All the world's off stage (Pinkie Pie Ending)]
Tumblr media
-Brainy (Supergirl): This one is kinda new. Even tho I don't watch Supergirl, I'm always up for good representation of our phobia. In one of the newest episodes, some characters are facing their fears, even tho the majority of the characters have "emotional" fears (Betrayal, loneliness, lossing a loved one), Brainy has some sort of fear of balloons. He can see the room full of them, but he can still do his job very well (even tho he knows they aren't real). Fans theorized that the fear itself it's a metaphor for his true worries and power(I guess, correct me if I'm wrong) popping out at any moment. [You can find this episode on "third party" services like Cuevana, or on TV I guess]
Tumblr media
-Humf: Humf is a little monster who lives everyday adventures and discovers the world around him. In one of the episodes, Humf is playing with his friends, when his uncle came to visit him bringing balloons to play. At first everything seem fun, playing with the air that came out of the balloon, chasing the balloon around and playing with the static, but for accident, Humf sits on the balloon, making it pop. After that, he realized balloons are loud, so he refuses to play with another balloons for fear of popping. Looking for a way to get back Humf to the games, his uncle starts making sound with the mouth of the balloon, thing that calls the attention of Humf. With help of his friend, Humf is back to play. Even tho Humf is still scared of the pops, he finds his way to play with balloons again. For me, the one of the best representations of this phobia. [You can find this chapter on YouTube: Humf and the balloons]
Tumblr media
-A.N.T. Farm: Olive Doyle claims she has many phobias, including "ghosts, vampires, witches, zombies, leprechauns, giraffes, double decker buses, balloons and... (shudders) curly fries." Just mentioned as a comic relief I guess.
-King of the hill: Bill seems scared when Hank mentioned balloons. just mentioned once.
[+18? Kinda but not explicit] -Bob's burguer: In the episode "It snakes a village" when the family goes to visit Linda's parents to a seniors home village, the regiment seems to be filled with old people (ehemswingersehem), but points aside, it seems like Linda's mom, Gloria, is easily startles by loud sudden noises, such as the back lid of the car being closed, people surprising her from behind, and balloons of course. On the other side, his husband Al, seems to have a f3ti$h of woman popping balloons, clearly some opposites. At the end of the episode, they discover that they can mix both things and "try new things", as Bob gives Gloria a pair of headphones. This is an interesting way to show the fear, since it's pretty know that sometimes phobias can do a 180° turn around and became a ehemehemphword, being balloons a good example.
-Whomp! Comics: In this webcomic series, the protagonist, Ronnie, clearly has a phobia of loud sudden noises. In various comics, he seems to be scared of thunder, biscuits cans and balloons. [You can find this comic online, if you're looking specifically for the ones mentioned here, just search on Google "whomp comic fear of balloons/thunder"]
-Mae, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn: When Mae was first introduced in Dawn Moves Out, during her sleepover with Dawn, which helps Dawn realize that it's time to move out to her own bedroom instead of sharing with her brothers. She reveals that she is afraid of balloons. She was saving that secret as part of a sleepover game, then by accident, Dawn's mom bring some balloons at the room, scarier Mae, even tho after Dawn put them out of the room, her dad bring them back again, scaring her again. This fear is mentioned again when in one episode she's keeping a class secret from Dawn and her brothers, so Dawn uses a balloon turkey (And popped it) to intimidate Mae and make her talk.
-"Jillian Holtzmann" The Ghostbusters: I really don't know about this character's phobia, the only thing I find it's the trivia, I'll try to update this. (Update I guess: According to a comics artist, she always been that way, no the thing I expected but ok at the same time, we don't own explanations to no one)
Anyways, I hope you like my post, do you know more characters with our phobia?

❤Character analysis : Caesar Clown ❤
· I see him as having some kind of similarities with Buggy, as having the constant need for attention and recognition, but always putting his foot in it. At first the two of them were introduced as antagonist but they ended up more as comic relief. (+ “clown”; excuse me)
· On contrary of certainly most people thoughts, I see him having an inferiority complex and not a superiority one, like Bakugou from MHA. From what we know he is seeking the title of “best scientist” and always thrive for being the one who beat Vegapunk in the science domain and that at the expense of others.
· According to the French Wikipedia (because I feel it is more complete), “The inferiority complex occurs when feelings of inferiority are intensified through failures that an individual may face in their life. It also refers to the fact that an individual does not accept that someone else surpasses them in a specific area. […] Sometimes alarming signs are seen among individuals with this complex. For example, an individual who is seeking attention and trying to improve themself may become susceptible. […] An individual's feelings of inferiority, often intensified by external causes, can manifest themselves in various symptoms such as aggressive behavior.[…] Patients with an inferiority complex seek recognition and praise, but also fear humiliation.” Also, according to Alfred Adler “The greater the feeling of inferiority that has been experienced, the more powerful is the urge to conquest and the more violent the emotional agitation.”
· I feel like this definition really fit him, as he failed at being seen by others as better as Vegapunk (while he was still part of the government) and that this failure turned him into a much more bitter and aggressive person. Talking about Vegapunk, I think that Caesar has the idea that Vegapunk saw him as less than himself. He also “seeks attention and recognition” but more than a regular person would. He is quite susceptible according from the relation he has with the Strawhats (they always pick up on him). And finally, “the urge to conquest”: Caesar is living with the “whatever it takes” mentality, in order to beat Vegapunk and become the BEST. He definitely wants to assert his dominance to prove his greatness to the world (and also to himself).
· Another thing that could be interesting to analyze about is his interest or obsession for weapons of mass destruction. Someone has something to compensate.
· In conclusion: definitely need a therapist and pray that he never discovers uranium.
I also would like to go more into detail parts since that from now I just focused on my headcanons on his inferiority complex. There are two things that I would like to talk about.
· In Zou saga, Caesar shows a specific aspect of his personality, at the moment when he tries to hide his identity in order to not lose his statue as “mad scientist” as he declared. From this we can assume that it is just some kind of act, that he is just playing a role. This can raise a question. Why is he playing this role? Is it because he is crazy? Or has he a “real reason” to act like this? Would it be because of the government? Like they ask about weapons of mass destruction, and they glorified people who work on this? I feel like there’s a lot of things that are not said or indicated that would be nice to know.
· The second thing that I would like to talk about is the meeting with Big Mom in the Whole Cake saga. At one moment Caesar thinks about the past and how he used the money of Big Mom on women and alcohol. This can go two ways. He is either a “party person” or an “elusive person”. For me it is a typical “I want to forget/I do not want to think” reaction. So, we could think that Caesar wants to forget about maybe his failures when he was part of the government.
That would be the end of these headcanons for the moment. I will maybe write a second part if I feel like there’s other things to discuss.

Yet another thing that Toph and Zuko have in common: Have their symptoms/coping mechanisms/guards they put up around themselves due to their trauma misinterpreted as “lol angsty murder child” when if you actually paid attention to their characterization for five seconds you would find that they’re both deeply compassionate and empathetic people.
Okay, this one is kinda personal to me. One of the major reasons Zuko and Toph are my faves is because I relate a lot to the more broken and insecure parts of them. I have a really nice family and I owe them so much, so I’m definitely luckier than either of them. But I also recognise that they’re not perfect people, and sometimes they’ll do this to me too. Pigeonhole me as the short-tempered emotionally stunted one, even when they know that’s not true because they’ll seek me out when they’re upset. The thing is, almost every character on ATLA is a direct result of their upbringing, I actually do think the show did a pretty good job of giving them layers and tying all of that back to their individual pasts. And also since this was meant to be a children’s show, they would stop dead in their tracks and flat out tell us the more nuanced aspects of their personalities, in addition to intermittently dropping in scenes that allow us to stitch the full picture together ourselves. That’s why these hot takes are so alarming to me. I KNOW that in real life that’s what people do, but this show spells it out for us. Humans are all too eager to take everyone they meet at face value and shove them into distinct little boxes. So Sokka is the dumb comic relief, Katara is angry brown girl, Toph is shallow and aggressive, and Zuko is emo bad boy. It’s infuriating. They are all these things and more and even those surface-level assessments hold so much merit in the context of how each was raised.
I don’t think I need to get into the Zuko thing again but I don’t talk enough about how much I love Toph. She’s the only one who reacts logically to every situation in Book 2. She has so much empathy for people, and she’ll just befriend random old men. She loves her friends so much and is so scared of losing people. She rejects traditional femininity because the way she was raised, it was almost oppressive and as a blind girl aesthetics hold little meaning for her. But as she grows closer with Katara she learns to accept a different way of thinking, she’s not just a little misogynist as people like insisting. She consoles Iroh, Zuko, and Katara at different points. She makes an effort to understand where people are coming from. Funnily, I think with Toph, there’s a little bit of sexism behind the way people interpret her, because god forbid women be multiple things at once.
I think both Toph and Zuko have a lot of growing moments and were both rich kids who didn’t get the love they wanted from their parents. They are extra empathetic because they know what it feels like to be misunderstood and underestimated. Zuko’s journey focuses a lot on this, and I think we forget that Toph experienced the same stuff, albeit on a smaller scale. There was that post about abused kids being hyperaware of other people’s emotions, and there are countless moments where both of them show an insane amount of compassion for other people. Heck, Zuko’s whole arc is spurred on by the fact that he cared too much about their soldiers. This is literally Zuko’s whole thing jfc. Idk I’m having a hard time explaining myself without getting too personal, but I’m just tired of people boiling everyone down to one primary character trait and dismissing everything else that makes them a good and interesting person. This is by no means limited to the ATLA fandom (example: the HP fandom loves doing this shit too) and is very much a real and damaging thing that people to irl as well.

Hi! If your inbox is open, I'd like to request a scenario with all (or any) of the demon brothers, + undatables reacting to a blind MC? Like, none of them expected to have a blind human and Devildom and they have to revamp everything to make it as safe for MC as possible. Can be she/her or they/them pronouns for MC. Bonus points if MC is extremely talkative and won't shut up lmao. Thank you!
OKAY! So, finally got this one out. I’m sooo sorry for the wait, but I wanted to try and do this right, not just some Daredevil nonsense, but I didn’t want to make the mistake of a ‘helpless blind MC’ either; because they’re not helpless.
I am also lucky enough to have a regular customer at my work that happens to be blind and she has been very happy to give me a helping hand to make this ask more real. She’s such a delight and her guide dog is beautiful and I could ramble on with our interactions, like one time she scolded us for moving the fixtures because she had just memorized the layout of the store then told her guide “you’ll earn that pay check today!”
SO! With her in mind, more so from her younger days that she reminisced with me; I have decided to work this piece around this customer’s condition specifically so I’m not just pulling shit out my arse.
To give you an idea, this MC suffers from Retinitis pigmentosa; their symptoms being tunnel vision and night blindness. So while they are legally blind, they can somewhat see. They use a cane when going out, use their hands and/or cane when inside a place knew to them – that happens to be in poor light (Devildom) – until they have the layout in their mind and move more confidently.
~
This also took a while because I couldn’t get a fic/scenario to work cohesively and hc was just not working either! But I’ve hopefully gotten it now, and I do hope you like it. I’ve also placed this under the cut because I’ve waffled on here.
Diavolo:
Interested. Anyone within the Devildom without eyesight, are generally the souls of the damned who aren’t permitted to move freely. Heck, he’s removed some of their eyes himself.
He wants to know instantly if there is anything he needs to change and improve to make sure MC’s stay is not only comfortable but enjoyable.
Absolutely loves how open MC is. He’s amazed at the resilience of humans; delighted to hear MC say how capable they are, though he does insist on one of the brother’s remaining her escort for the duration of their stay. Capable or not, he is well aware of how demons would use MC’s lack of sight to their advantage.
Really wants to ask how amplified their other senses are; disappointed to know most things depicted in movies are – for the most part – an over exaggeration.
Organises a tablet for them with all RAD textbooks uploaded so they have that ability to zoom in so they are able to read the text at their own comfort. Other systems such as braille, text to talk etc are also implemented if that is something MC prefers to learn by.
Lucifer:
Considers Cerberus as a guide dog? Impossible, the human would be eaten alive. Perhaps another smaller hellhound? Goodness no, they’d still be eaten.
Asks MC about their condition –on behalf of Lord Diavolo of course – so he is aware of anything that may help their stay in the Devildom.
Very pleased to see how receptive MC is, very talkative and informative about her condition; he’s surprised to learn the varying levels of visual impairment. Consults Diavolo on brighter lighting to improve her movements around RAD and already planning on improvements within his own home.
During MC’s first few nights in Lamentation, Lucifer appears on edge; always keeping an eye when they’re moving about on their own. Enjoys watching how they learn to memorize layouts, quietly telling themselves how many steps it takes from one room to another, touching hallway objects.
Ready to run to their side that one time MC walked into the wall; turning into the kitchen a little too soon; until he hear them chuckle to themselves and ran their hand along the wall until they found the doorway and walked through it. No damage done. He’s learning to leave them be, understanding that he doesn’t need to dote on them.
Mammon:
MC is blind? Ooh yeah! The things that boy could swipe to make some quick Grimm, and right under their nose. It was gonna be too easy!! Completely stunned when they still catch him out. “How’d ya know it was me?!”
Watches them narrow their eyes as if trying to spot him before coming up beside him and close the drawer he was just rummaging through. The nerve this human has to threaten The Great Mammon by saying they’ll use their cane to whack him.
Surprised at MC’s explanation on how they knew it was him. They recognised his scent; not only did he have his favourite cologne – which he didn’t think he wore that much of – they noted how he had a metallic smell, like the kind you get when touching coin constantly.
Likes to watch MC move around their room; at first using their hand to remember the layout and then moving as if they saw as well as he did. Considered rearranging things to see what would happen.
Okay, so MC isn’t helpless… but, other demons don’t know that. Considers using MC as bait; distract idiots so he can rob them and sell their things for a little Grimm. “I, The Mammon, am a genius!” “No, Mammon.”
Levi:
Couldn’t even imagine being in their position; all that manga he couldn’t read, anime they couldn’t watch… never knowing what Ruri-Chan looks like!!! Gasp! No way. Poor MC!
Really confused when he sees them one day, curled up on a chair in the common room, wearing a pair of glasses and a book in hand. Wanders over and looks over their shoulder before questioning what was going on; nodding when they told him that with reading glasses and preferably larger font, they could indulge in many a storybook.
As their relationship blossoms, he has a dedicated reading nook in his room for the two of them, including a lamp to brighten the area to help improve what sight they have. Likes that they’re happy to listen to him read to them his TSL series. He thinks about writing to the publishers for the next editions to have larger fonts; that way he could buy MC a set of their own.
He likes to sit and watch them bring things close to their face to inspect them better; his figurines which they – to his relief – handle with great care, or his manga comics to see which characters he’s fawning over.
He secretly loves that MC likes to chill by his fish tank wall. Why? They state that while there’s too much distortion for them to actually make anything out, they enjoy the ambient colouring and light; the two eventually just listen to music together like that as a means to relax.
Satan:
Of course he is utterly curious about MC’s condition and is glad to see how open they are to talking about it. He’ll look things up himself in his own time but nothing like hearing it from someone’s own experience.
Asks if those romance and crime novels are accurate; “so, do you touch people’s faces so you know what they look like?” finds it interesting that for the most part, this doesn’t happen; but it makes sense, he wouldn’t be too thrilled by someone he barely knows putting their hands onto him.
Writes down notes that he considers most important from the board during lessons and offers them to MC should they need them for their studies.
Another one who likes watching MC learn their way around Lamentation, like how they touch cupboard handles until they find the one they need while grumbling about how crappy the lights are.
Shared appreciation for just lying on the ground whenever a cat is near them, all responsibility out the window as number one priority is giving adorable little hellcats their undivided attention. Loves that MC is willing to con Lucifer into believing a cat makes a wonderful guide animal.
Asmo:
Oh poor MC, unable to see just how beautiful he is… Oh, they can kinda see? If he gets real close? Oh he can definitely do that! Bummed that MC promptly puts in some boundaries but once their relationship develops they do enjoy the closeness with him.
Learns – albeit slowly – that his looks aren’t going to win MC over, and instead begins to better understand the value of personality and getting to know a person. Should MC like Asmo, it’s because of who he is and not for all the fluffing he does with his looks.
Whenever he happens to be the brother escorting MC, just know he’ll always detour to the main hub; treating the two of them to manicures and pedicures, facials, all that fun stuff.
When shopping, he loves how MC feels the fabric of things he grabs for them and has an even bigger appreciation for how things feel on him. Absolutely enjoys offering explanations whenever MC would ask about colour or cuts if they can’t make them out should the lighting be too poor for them.
Will starting looking around for ‘fashionable’ canes. Yes, he knows it’s about practicality and he’s not going to take that away from MC, but what’s wrong with wanting to match their cane with that gorgeous outfit he’s picked out from them?
Beel:
Having no experience with a visually impaired human, he’ll ask MC if he should carry them places; it’s no big deal, they looked pretty light after all. Apologises if they happen to get a bit defensive so keeps close while they walk together, worried they may walk into or trip over something.
He’ll be curious about whether or not other senses are heightened due to the loss of another and is lowkey disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to hear someone in the kitchen stealing his food when they’re somewhere else in the house.
He loves cooking with them; the tastes of what he creates seem to be more balanced and they’re more than happy to sneak him a few snacks while Lucifer is occupied elsewhere. They’ll fool around, tasting things to see who can pick up more notes.
Things turn into a game between the two of them; if he spots MC in a room he’ll sneak up and try and get to them before they realise he’s there. “Too heavy on your feet,” or “you were giggling,” is something he hears a lot when trying.
Though MC can’t really see while he’s training or playing a game, he really appreciates that there still there to cheer him on; he’s taken to wearing a bright headband in hopes that they’ll be able to spot him out a bit better. They don’t half the heart to tell him they still can’t find him.
Belphie:
In the beginning, he’ll use MC’s lack of sight to their advantage; sly and manipulative to lure them in. Watches how they react to his voice, how their eyes or head move in the direction he’s in, learning how they work their other senses.
Tensions between the two would be tight after that moment and he’ll feel tremendous guilt for what he did to them; keeps himself at a distance, afraid they’ll recoil if they sense he’s too close and understands if they would.
Amazed that they find it in them to forgive him and help mend bonds between him and his brothers, and will spend whatever time he’s able building up trust with MC; whether that’s being their escort around Devildom or just being there for company.
He loves – when trust is established – that MC is just happy to lay with him while he star gazes and talks about what he sees, trying to paint a picture for them while they huddle up together in a fluffy blanket, sharing his cow print pillow.
Simeon/Luke:
They’re angels; their job is to look over and protect humans. So they are already well aware of how capable MC would be – Simeon more so than Luke since he’s younger and more interested in Michael – but they will still offer their assistance should MC need it.
They’re also the sort to take notes down during class that MC may not be able to see on the board; but they’ll ask before assuming.
Simeon has taken to writing a little bigger if it’s something he’d like MC’s opinion on his work; the two forming a bond through fiction and history. The two can be found losing track of time and just talking about any given thing.
Luke enjoys cooking with MC; asking them what they think of the taste of something he creates and asks how he can make it better. He’d love to be able to wow Michael upon his return to the Celestial Realm and MC will always critique his work rather than sugarcoat like Simeon would or just outright scare him like demons would. With a little push from MC, he takes lessons from Barbatos.
Solomon:
Quite unphased; he’s dealt with various impairments before seeing as he is still human despite being a very powerful sorcerer. He doesn’t offer assistance but will give it should MC ask him for help.
He has many a spell in his books that could quite possibly cure or ease symptoms of various impairments and is very tempted to bring this information to MC; but decides on holding back until he can figure out how to approach the subject. He’ll ask them how they feel about their situation and go from there.
Would also offer heightening other senses should MC want them; even temporarily if they’re just a little curious. “Let’s see what’s so crash hot about being Daredevil!” “My thoughts exactly MC.”
