Synopsis: things get a bit heated while you’re reading to Nanami as you guys are cuddled up in bed.

Nanami was always very tired and grumpy all because of his job. It was something that started randomly then developed into a routine but, tonight was different.

Nanami got home from work more frustrated that usual, he set his things on the entrance table and put his shoes against neatly against the wall. He walked straight to the bathroom and got into the shower without looking your way or saying anything. When he finished showering he walked over to his side of the closet and put on boxers and pajamas pants.

“Rough day?” You asked.

You picked up the book you were currently reading and began to recite the poems to him, Nanami felt himself relax as he held you close. Hamzah sits back down and eats his sandwich. He then goes on a whole rant how Martin didn’t want to finish watching Arcane and he’s missing out. Then he starts talking about the slushies, “ I hope they actually enjoy the video, I feel like we looked so dumb” he laughs. “ Nooo, they’ll enjoy it dont worry”. Eventually he starts getting tired so he starts quieting down and ends up falling asleep.

I felt such overwhelming hype when I saw we got 2 chapters in 1 day I truly was ready to throw my phone out the fucking window. TOO MUCH JOY FOR ONE LITTLE GNASH... I hadn't even finished processing ch21......

first off pov Joe when he goes to Calloway's to pick up his cute new tailored fit in 3 days

soooo right from the jump. hey.

"“…’cause he’s way better off than I am, it’ll make it harder for me to leave him or something. That he’s luring me in. I mean—” Joe laughed nervously as he steeled himself in preparation for how the captain would react to his next statement “—if it were a giant treating me the way he treats me, everyone would call me a pet.”

“Well of course they would, Joe. That’s because giants are evil.” The captain said matter-of-factly.

He may as well have poked Joe squarely in the eye. Nonetheless, the bartender continued."

hey. UM. Joe you beautiful idiot who canonically has bad luck and, presumably from reading this very chapter, a terrible poker face. Maybe you should have said. Any Other Thing? GODDD in my heart he's definitely sooo overconfident and drunk like wow I am so smooth :) nobody suspects a thing :) while Calloway is having a conversation with him like uh... just saying, but you know, none of us could stop you from. for example. idk. becoming a giant's pet. we wouldn't like that but it's just a random thing that came to mind just now, unrelated to the really tall really wealthy really powerful guy who is afraid of taking advantage of you by luring you in and giving you things like a giant would and maybe isn't treating you like a person. And you're afraid you shouldn't want it. Like BRO IT IS SO OVER FOR YOU even without Harry literally calling Joe's name 3+ times in the dead silence 😭😭😭😭 And presumably Harry having been waiting around there for a while to see Joe! Loitering in a way we know tinies are on guard about since they all noticed that snatcher back in Ch13!

They're idiots ur honor, so true, but it's all worth it to see Joe get rescued and swoon like a damsel ... I definitely wonder if Calloway observed any of that, and what he might think about it if so. >:) May or may not have been daydreaming and writing bits about how horrifying it would be to give your surrogate kid all this well-meaning advice, see him nearly slip to his death, and while you're hurrying down to try and help him, watching him call out to a walking nightmare for help and then get whisked away by it

I have a pet theory that everything we've seen from Calloway so far has been pretty heavily colored by it being from Joe's perspective when he's having a bad day, and maybe he will be more understanding than we think? Objectively, I didn't think he was being very rude or anything back in Ch 13, when he was speculating on Joe's love life. It rankled Joe, which is understandable, but he 1) he's happy that Joe looks good, 2) he doesn't let Gutters or O'Grady rag on Joe too hard and 3) he just generally seems like an interested father figure would about his kid's love life:

"“Oh, lay off him, Tim. It’s a good borrowing year!” Captain Calloway cut in. “We all have ‘em, we all enjoy ‘em, we all cry ourselves to sleep when they’re over.”

Relief washed over Joe like the warm water in Harry’s sink.

“Though I gotta say…” The captain gave a wry smile as he continued. “…it could just as easily be someone else’s good borrowing year if ya’ catch my drift. Could be he’s got a little sweetheart looking after him. A brick of pure chocolate? That’s practically a dowry."”

Although I may be wrong here, since Ch 21's incident at Tiny Town with the Italian mob that saved him gives us the insight that "[for] the first time in Joe’s entire existence at that, Joe understood what it was like to have a real father." So maybe Calloway is not that nurturing to Joe and not much of a caring dad -- as @remordsposthume's tags so wisely point out:

WTF WAS HE DOING LETTING HIM LEAVE THE BAR LMAO. Calloway's Den of Drunkards confirmed for an "everybody drive home drunk. it's not my problem" bar??? Everyone is processing TAoLaW thru their own cultural lens and. in that spirit. lmfao. I must say. Calloway reminds me of the libertarian redneck dads I've known who just let their kids do whatever. If he was a giant I think he'd let his kids ride ATVs thru the woods drunk. Most probably he would also be ridin around drunk with them. "If you die it's your own damn fault" being his motto is too on the nose LOL. Huge farm dad "I LOVE MY SONS. ONLY HALF OF THEM WILL SURVIVE TO ADULTHOOD BUT I DO LOVE THEM" energy. To Me.

BUT ANYWAY YEAH EVEN IF CALLOWAY WAS THE MOST UNOBSERVANT GUY IN THE WORLD RE: THAT SUSPICIOUS CONVERSATION? YOU WERE LITERALLY BOTH SCREAMING EACH OTHERS' NAMES LIKE LOVESICK ROMANCE PROTAGONISTS RIGHT UNDER THE DREDGE THAT'S STILL PROBABLY GOT AT LEAST SOME NIGHT MARKET CUSTOMERS? HELLO?? @94444 we are on the same wavelength rn

AND MORE ABOUT CALLOWAY... I am very heartened by how you mentioned once, Warren, that you planned to give each character real depth and treat them with sincerity. I feel very interested about when that time will be for Calloway! We know that he takes in kids (or at least O'Grady and Joe scratch that. tag lore be upon me) and teaches them how to sell trinkets. We know that he hates giants. We know he's been horribly injured in a way that led to him losing a hand, an eye, and possibly teeth. Knowing what we do about the risks of being a borrower, and how casually cruel giants are to them, it's not unlikely those last 2 things are related. I'M TAKING YOUR TAGS AND RUNNING AWAY WITH THEM LIKE A DOG W SOMETHING IN ITS MOUTH.

So Calloway knew them for several years as vulnerable kids... then lost them for a year or so... then got them back after they escaped the watchmaker's? I will be interested to see if that trauma means he's more protective of them, or uh, still more drunk libertarian dad about them. Lmao. He seemed like he cared about Joe getting into Tiny Town way back in Ch3 tho at least! (as an aside... interested in who Gutters is, too. He SEEMS to be older than Joe/Tim, but he could also still be a Calloway Kid himself... he seems to defer to Calloway... and/or he could just be some guy embittered about giant/tiny relations. which. fair, brother.)

If the broader Tiny Town culture (such as it is... would word get around about this incident with Joe and Harry, or does news just not travel that well amongst lots of secluded borrower communities? much to consider. it makes sense in a dark way why you would physically mark somebody who's transgressed against society's cardinal rule, in a culture where you cannot generally spread information effectively) would reject Joe for his proclivities... will Calloway, too? Or is it Joe's anxiety making him think that? I'm afraid we already know how Tim would feel. Other than him, Calloway is the person who Joe seems most connected to in miniature society... Although Harry's worry about Joe not spending enough time around his fellow miniatures in Ch22 is at least partially motivated by his own guilt-trip, I think he has a bit of a point! I hope Joe doesn't lose touch with everyone -- or if he does, I hope there will be new friends out there for him, too, who are more understanding.

Now Calloway aside, OBVIOUSLY THE ENDING OF THIS CHAPTER HAD ME HOOTIN AND HOLLERIN.

“Joe… can we go back to the big, sexy giant part for a second?” <- LIT'RALLY me rereading this chapter 800 times

A snapping turtle is a fantastic little horror for poor Joe to face, woof. Those fuckers are scary enough when ur height is measured in feet. The quick way they snap is no joke. Just want to 👏👏👏👏 about how good this passage is: The turtle’s maw emerged from the waters of the lake like the gaping mouth of some ancient monster that fed on the souls of sailors. The grimy lakewater rushed over its beady little eyes as its beak, sharp as a dagger, flew towards Joe faster than a gunshot. YEAH.

It just!! makes my little heart sooooo happy to see that Joe does have someone who will unconditionally look out for him...!!! Harry has his issues, and they're still learning how to open up about themselves, but he consistently shows up!! :') the thought of him waiting for his man all night ... hoping the dredge would be the place Joe meant ... and then acting sooo fast when he saw a tiny guy fall off of it... what a faithful hound of a [future] boyfriend. Calloway is so right. Joe deserves somebody to look after him. And Joe has done the (forgive me for the loaded meme) girl math on this. One big man is the best possible outcome for him. ONLY THE BIGGEST MAN WILL DO to keep him off of his bullshit as much as possible 👍👍

And OF COURSE god their conversation is just so so so fucking funny. "Thank you" "fuck no I'm not" -> "FUCK YOU" is INCREDIBLE i CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT lmaooooo and Harry still being so gentle about receiving this insult and trying to parse what Joe means ... he does listen to Joe, they're definitely not back to square one as drunk!Joe feared, his own issues are just getting in the way! (And Joe's are getting in the way of him seeing thru Harry's facade into what the real issue is! We love to see it!)

Joe crossed his arms and scowled up at the beautiful man and his beautiful face as Harry tried to parse what Joe was saying.

And did anyone else cackle at how Joe telephone-gamed Calloway's advice to still be in plausible-deniability-land. "You gotta want to be my friend" ok. not what he fuckin said. run that back real quick -> "Not if you’re being open about what you want and everything. That’s how love works, Joe. You gotta want it."

I just adored the moments of insight between them, too. "... Joe knew his real answer was yes – he was just too afraid to say it overtly. He argued and fought and begrudgingly accepted it instead. / What was that saying to Harry?" vs. Ch22 Harry's revelation: "How much of his relationship with Joe was genuine, he wondered, and how much of it was Joe going along with Harry’s suggestions in the name of diplomacy?"

Joe IS acting like somebody who's being coerced! Harry IS being a trustworthy guy by noticing it and checking in once their relationship is definitely turning intimate! It's so fascinating to think in hindsight that every time Joe turned red and embarrassed, Harry was having a thought at the back of his mind like "he doesn't want this. I'm scaring him. He doesn't want me, and he doesn't even know the real me yet. And worse, he can't tell me, because he's afraid of what I might do to him." But he can't SAY all that because it would hurt too much if he said it and Joe confirmed he was actually correct, so Ch22 comes out as a trainwreck where he's accidentally insulting Joe's ability to survive without him. (Side note I KNEW Harry wasn't REALLY considering Joe his landlord. Sad!!! That fucked up scrawny starving guy has squatter's rights and he was doing pretty good all things considered maybe !!!)

The respective issues ~Society~ has given both of them just make it impossible to talk about the root of their problems without baring your guts in a really terrifying way. OOF.

HOWEVER this chapter confirming that homophobia isn't such a problem in tiny society is going to make this eventual conversation betwen them real interesting... Harry like "You don't understand Joe :( there's something really wrong with me... ... I like ... men..." and Joe being like "omg :) :) :) :) :) wait what's wrong with you tho" and then Joe "No you don't understand Harry :( I know this is sick but... I like.. giants... I'm sure you could never see someone smaller than you as anything other than a pet ..." and Harry just ":) :) :) :) oh what no :) Georgie was shorter than me" I hope they can have a good, baffled laugh at how long they could've been snuggling guilt-free. At the end of the angst. <3

so I’ve hit the big one. Thank you for 10k followers, that’s literally so insane I really don't deserve this. I made this blog a little over two years ago, and it’s been so much fun to make so many new friends on here! So I have a few things lined up as a thank you, so this is gonna get long.

May I humbly ask about your animatic-making process?

i got you

1. Find an idea

I usually get my ideas from tiktoks or some songs.

I kinda try to fit the song to the character I want in it lmao

2. Download the audio

I’m an android phone user so downloading stuff is really easily.

I usually use YTMP3.com to download my stuff

there is a lot of websites with that link but l usually pick the second or first one

Then insert the audio in Alight Motion. I use Alight Motion a lot since there’s a lot of choices there.

Also I use the APK version so I don’t have to pay for premium features. ALSO THIS IS ON MY PHONE. I use an Ipad to draw….

3. (Optional) Storyboarding

GUYS TBH IN MY ANIMATICS I DON’T STORYBOARD

EVERYTHING IN MY ANIMATICS, I LITERALLY JUST WING IT LMAOOO

The only animatic I did need to storyboard was Floyd’s little minecraft song angst video LMAOOO:

a lot of people happen to storyboard their animatics so they have a plan but i literally storyboard in my head and if i think it looks good, i just put it in 😭😭😭

I literally have to go on my old tablet to fetch some of my old content here

4. START DRAWING

In my drawing process, it’s kinda easy unless I’m using a bunch of colors.

I also try to change the styles up so you can differeniate the animatics from eachother like how in Jade’s Laufey video, the colors are warm and soon turn pale and cold. And in the To Love a Boy, it’s like pt 2 of Jade’s Laufey video but in MC’s perspective and in which the MC does not return his feelings so the colors aren’t warm as Jade’s perspective.

And then in Azul’s Laufey video, the appearance and color palette’s looks very sweet and valentiney since it’s in the MC’s perspective on having a FAT FUCKING CRUSH on Azul

Epel was the hardest because during that time, I was not that active on TikTok and school took my time so it took a lot of time to gain back the motivation and finish it

ALSO, i literally draw on my Ipad now and I send the pictures to my phone to edit them so it’s an annoying process since I DON’T WANNA PAY FOR ALIGHT MOTION WHEN I CAN GET IT FOR FREE

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT TOOK ME A YEAR?? My “I Wanna Be a Princess!” MUSIC VIDEO… it’s not animatic but that took like a year to finish because I forgot about it but I did so well on it.

AND YOU CAN TELL HOW LONG IT TOOK BECAUSE THE MC APPEARANCE ALREADY CHANGED

5. Editing

Okay, I’m so happy that I actually got into editing for a bit because my videos would’ve looked so trash bro

LMSOOO but editing animatics aren’t really that hard unless you’re going for a specific transition or movement

I guess the transition that pissed me off the most were the ones in Jade’s Laufey video when it switches from warm to cold and Epel’s MLP video where it switches from silly to dark.

My editing process isn’t that unique. I just insert the song, move the pictures, and done 😭😭😭

6. Touch-ups

Touch-ups include subtitles, effects, filters, etc

I don’t really use filters for my animatics unless i’m going for something

BUT SUBTITLES?? yeah I use them a lot lmao

But also trying to fit the subtitles with the animatic is hard bc IDK WHAT TO GO FOR so i literally pull them out my ass

7. Post

I don’t do much about posting or what to say with my animatics

YEAH DISVEN.TURE CA.MP does such a GOOD JOB in writing realistic emotions and situations into their characters compared to tot.al dra.ma. It keeps going forward and gets more divided whenever it shows a situation that’s supposed to “pick a side” but it really isn’t for that case. YOULL UNDERSTAND ONCE YOULL CONTINUE BC THERES SO MUCH DRAMA IN THE LATER EPISODES.

THEY NAILED THE SUSPENSE ON THE ELIMINATIONS EVEN THO SOME OF THEM ARE PREDICTABLE? I was really sad when drew got eliminated too because of how well they portrayed a mute character— (I didn’t know red is also mute,, that’s so cool…) also what I like about the series with their representation as well 😭 I’m relieved you feel bad for Grett even tho she can be mean but she’s literally playing the game so I can’t BLAME HER as much (same goes to Fiore). For me, Grett’s development through the series is by far one of my favorites as it progresses (and one of my favorite characters) .

IM GIGGLING OVER OVER THE REACTION ON FIORE’S TRUE COLORS. She’s veryyyy messed up (I COULD NOT GET OVER HER BURNING ASHLEYS AND NICKS STUFF JUST TO FRAME LILL THAYS FUCKED) but also plays the game very smartly. She’s such a freaking gremlin I love her so much 💔

Saw someone tweet front pages of different magazines saying she's pregnant just cuz she has a stomach, completely body shaming her, but they were using that as "Proof" that the breakup didn't happen like ??? Do they not realize Taylor probably hates their asses?? She's rich she'll be fine ofc, but fuck that shit must be exhaustingg

it’s genuinely fascinating to me like. the phenomenon of people calling themselves “fans” and practically devoting their life to someone who they actually treat like shit. it makes me think of phoebe bridgers recently saying that her fans harassed her so aggressively online for daring to date a guy they don’t like, to the point where she straight up says “I, at one of the lowest points of my life, saw people who claim to love me fucking dehumanize me and shame me and fucking bully me” and i applaud her for saying it!! and like look i’m no fan of taylor swift and it’s hard for me to sympathize with celebrities on a lot of issues, but sometimes i try to imagine living a life where Everything you do is public and your “fans” comb through your instagram taking screenshots of dates and trying to match them to time signatures in your music videos and pick out colors of your tour outfits all to prove that your recent break-up is part of some Secret Message to them……like not just not having privacy, but your fans genuinely thinking every detail of your life is intended for their consumption. you’re literally nothing more than a product to them, no matter how much they claim to love you! and you still have to do meet and greets with them 😭

Hello this is probably a very vague question but I figured ur the best person to ask, you just came into my head as I was thinking about it! Long story short, I kind of really wish I’d picked Art History as one of my A-Levels (I picked Psychology instead and will regret it till the day I die lol) and I just wondered if you had any recommendations of how to get into the subject?

Artists to look up or just anywhere that has cool resources for someone who knows *nothing* about it but rlly wants to 😭 sorry this is probably hard to answer but thank you anyway!! <33 I hope ur doing well!

omg ahh hello!! i am going to ramble

so, if you want to start with artists, it's probably best you pick a time period or movement that you really enjoy and then you can read about the artists who pioneered those movements. BUT i will give you some of my favorite artists to read about!

Caravaggio- anything about him! if you want to look him up peruse his works! he's quite a character. he's a murderer for starters. he also gets arrested for throwing artichokes at waiters, writing slanderous poems, hiring assassins to kill his rival painters, throwing rocks at cops, and for falling on his own sword (that he had illegally). also the pope literally orders his death so he has to run away. if you like drama and absurdity and baroque art he's your guy!

Artemisia Gentileschi- if you want to see baroque art of women made by a woman she is your girl! the way she paints women naturalistically instead of highly stylized is so progressive and in a time when women weren't allowed to do anything, her achievements as arguably the greatest baroque painter ever are really impressive. her backstory is a pretty tragic and upsetting one, but she's amazing!

Van Gogh- if you like post-impressionist art, which tends to be a lot of people's favorite movement then Van Gogh is a good one! highly recommend reading the letters vincent van gogh wrote to his brother, and art dealer, Theo. they make me cry and i love them!

If you like more modern art, Marcel Duchamp is a fun one to read about. He had an alter ego named Rosé Selavy (sounds like eros, c'est la vie play on words! very cool!) and he kinda kicked off the modern art movement! Andy Warhol of course (notably his time working with Basquiat, homie also gets shot by the woman who wrote the Scum manifesto) Martha Rosler did some amazing things in the 70s (semiotics in the kitchen is a personal favorite of mine) and The guerrilla girls!!!!! (if you like the 90s feminist movement) you can find some books and podcasts and other resources i like here! and here! for just looking at art, exploring different artists and movements and even virtually touring museums, google arts and culture!!!! you can sort paintings by color, artist, movement, time period, location, etc. and they have several museums that you can do a virtual walk through of. also just reading the descriptions of things gives you a feel for how people talk and write about art! if you're looking for good art criticism i recommend looking into Jerry Saltz, Kenny Schachter, Roberta Smith, John Berger, Lucy Lippard! Khan Academy is the best free resource and has entire free course dedicated to art history that you can go through here! they break down how to look at art, different approaches to it, teach you about chronological periods etc. (literally everything you could want to know!)

I have 57 rn and i still can't believe i have that many fics,, it used to be more than that but i had deleted some of my older fics for an old fandom i was once in

2. What's your total ao3 word count?

127,635 words (and counting hopefully once i get out of this slump)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now i mainly write for BSD. I used to write for the fantastic beasts and where to find them fandom from 2018 to the first half of 2020 but i stopped cuz i left (you can still find my fics for that fandom in my ao3 and wattpad profiles)

Yes, but not always. I like interacting with those who read my fics and seeings their comments just motivates me to write more

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

i mostly write fluff but i have tried my hand at writing angst although i'm not sure if those fics count as that cuz i feel like i don't have the skill to properly convey the angsty feelings for it to be considered angst

but if i had to choose out of all the attempts i made at angst, i'd say If "Happy Ever After" Did Exist, I Would Still Be Holding You Like This and Con Flores (Te Llevaste Mi Tristeza Con Colores)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

again, i write fluff so basically all of them have happy endings or are just generally happy overall. i can't really pick one of them dasjkgkas

i hope not... that's literally one of my writing anxieties, especially when i write a fic involving an oc i have for a fandom (like Edogawa Hotaru, for example)

9. Do you write smut?

i think i tried writing once although it wasn't a fanfic. i cringed hard and never tried writing smut for a fic again. but if you guys saw my character ai chats involving my ships-

never-ending inspiration i guess. i once got a "this is the fic i/we never knew i/we needed" comment on a ranposano fic that i wrote because i had my period and that just made me realize that wow i pull my ideas from literally everywhere

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

procrastination, my inconsistent english grammar, and constantly setting standards that are a little too high whenever i write something

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

i'm fine with it ig? englsih is my second language and i don't usually write full dialogues in another language. i usually only include words in another language but never full dialogues

19. First fandom you wrote for?

believe it or not, i used to write fanfics for the rise of the brave tangled frozen dragons fandom, mainly jelsa (but i never published any of them my 10 year old self was too scared)

20. Favorite fic you've written?

omg Lost and Found my beloved ranposano fic daksgdkas that fic is what i like to consider as the peak of my skills as fic writer, like i will never be able to write something like that ever again

For your event, mine is going to be Montgomery Gator, the song will be Infra-Red by Three Days Grace, the flower is Oleander (Nerium oleander), and I pick a one-shot!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Nerium Oleander is an ornamental but poisonous flowering shrub having narrow evergreen leaves and clusters of fragrant white to pink or red flowers. Despite that, it symbolizes Bewitching Desire, Destiny, Seduction, Charm, and Caution. ❞

Prompt ;; maybe this was a mistake, going to the Pizzaplex with a surprise date your friends has set up for you? Yeah, a definite mistake. Well, i suppose it's also your fault for not telling them that you're practically in love with an animatronic, and now you have to spend the day here trying to survive till evening before coldly say that you're not interested. And hopefully? Avoid a certain gator on the way.

A/N ;; bro, i literally didn't intend this to be as long as it is😭 well anon i hope you enjoy this, i tried 😔

It hasn't even been half an hour.

Not even a goddamn thirty minutes.

And here you are, pulling your hand away as the poor guy that your friends has set up for you tries to coily intertwine your hand with his, a poor effort really, though you're also confused on how he hasn't picked up on the very obvious signs that you don't like him. Though, right now that's the least of your worries. Why? Well.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to our beloved pals, Freddy Fazbear and the gang!"

It'll be fine, it'll be fine. Right?

As the speakers starts booming with loud sounds signaling the arrive of the most beloved Glamrocks, unlike most kids and even a few adults on set ready to dance the night away, you shrinked. And you thought that'll be the worst of it, but that didn't even hit close when you looked up the stage to see the familiar bassist, smiling and giving a little wave before absolutely killing it on said Bass.

It all went well and fine, for the most part. Nearing the end, a few of the kids got a little rowdy as you try to gain balance from the amount of dancing involved in one place. But of course the world had to make it hard for you for no reason, as you accidentally tripped on someone's foot while trying to walk back, keeping distance. Though, you didn't feel any impact from your fall, but when you opened your eyes, you were met with another pair. Honestly you would rather he let you fall at that moment.

As he tries to help you get up from your awkward position, hand on your back as you finally regain balance, somehow he has the nerve to still try and make you hold him in some way. Obviously you're still unwilling, not like you ever will. "Hey, you okay?" The guy said, as you stood up again. "I'm fine. Thanks." You tried to brush him off, attempt turned futile as you look back on stage to see the Gator persona keeping his eyes on you during the whole thing. Shit.

What was supposed to be an opening show felt like absolute hours, you didn't even realize when it ended because it felt so long you just thought it'll go on for forever. Then, you went to the main hall. Colorful lights blared harshly that it brought this place to life, though for some reason this time, it only brought you headaches.

"Let's go see the animatronics,"

"Sure. Wait, huh-?"

No wait, you shouldn't, what were you thinking?! As your arm was being held, again, he pulled on you all the way to the Animatronics' green rooms. Heart in throat, air like knives, poking you mad from every direction. Though, a person took you out from your trance, female to be exact, and a familiar one too, it was one of the workers here that you see often. "(Y/n)! Back again i see, here to go meet with Monty again i assume?" Her chirpy voice rung out, as she then took a moment to see the person standing next to you. "And you are?" She asked curiously, keeping her eyes on how close he is with you. "Oh, he's just my-" "Their date." He cut you off, smile hanging from his features, "I'm their date, nice to meet you."

Soft eyes looks at you before looking back at him, she was the few people that knew about how you and Monty feel when it comes to eachother, only because Monty told her. So the worry in her eyes as she hears that quickly turned to confusion, before looking at you for confirmation. You quickly avert your gaze somewhere else, throat clearing before your hand slyly went up to your neck, making cutting motions as to try and silently tell that you also didn't want this. She got the hint thankfully, you hope so at least, as her mouth performed an 'o' shape after the realization.

She greeted your so-called "date" before letting you explore the Pizzaplex again, before so taking a grab of your arm, letting you know something as she speaks closely to your ear.

"Monty was a bit grumpier when he came back earlier, you might wanna check on him."

And you already know how much of an understatement that is, it always has been, the word "grumpy" and "Monty" together just doesn't belong, so whenever someone exclaimed that Monty is "upset", you know they meant that he's having a full blown tantrum. And you're right, the curtains on his green room was closed, and another attendant was standing in front of it as to stop whoever thinks that they can just enter.

"Is Monty your favorite?" A question suddenly got your attention, as your date keeps his hands in his pockets. "You could say that." You answered, short and simple. "Well, my favorite is Freddy." I don't care.

That's what you wanted to say at least, but you bite your tongue, holding in any mean words. you just need to get rid of him so you can talk to Monty. "Hey, um, are you hungry? I am. Maybe you can go order us some food? El Chips' are pretty good, why not save us a seat? I'll be there, just gotta use the bathroom real quick." Thankfully he wasn't really that hardheaded and went, you waited for him to disappear with the crowd, before finally going to meet Montgomery.

"Who is he." It didn't even sound like a question, just pure intimidation. You look around, scratch marks on the wall, couch torn apart, and the chair is practically useless now after being thrown about multiple times. "(Y/n)." Tone low and dangerous, a warning for you to answer, "I said, who the fuck is he." You scramble about in your mind to find the right words, not wanting to upset him further.

"He's," you sighed, trying to keep yourself together. "He's just a guy that my friends set up to be a date of mine." You speed talked, ripping off the metaphorical band-aid off your chest. Monty howled, laughed, but it didn't sound really cheery. In fact, it was poisonous, pretty but poisonous, aching your heart with each second passed. "Ohhh, so you're on a date, aye? What? I'm supposed to congratulate you or somethin'? Damn, right when i thought we were fuckin' amazing for eachother'."

"Montgomery, that's not-" "Y'know sugar? I'm happy for ya, whatcha here for again? Why not be with your mans?" He taunted, big metal body cornering you as you try to answer, only for him to cut you off every damn time. You looked away, obviously stressed and the Animatronic in front of you is not helping, and as you try to take a few deep breaths, metal cold fingers reaches itself by the chin of your face, though softly, it forces you to look up at him. "Why no response, hm? You thinkin' about him that much that you can't answer?"

He softened the moment he saw just how distressed you are as he moves your face, with that he lets go of it and moves back, looking away as he tries to seem unfazed. "Alright, i got my entertainment, now speak." The air was so tense you swear breathing was almost impossible, but you forced yourself, he was giving you a chance to speak, it's now or never. "I don't like him," you started of, trying to get the Animatronic's attention. "I really don't. I don't know what my dumbass friends were thinking but i really didn't agree to this, i was planning to just tell him that I'm not interested. And-"

"Then tell 'em now." He looks at you, as if daring you to say something. "Monty, that's mean." You sterned back, trying to gain some sort of footing. "Sweets, i was watching you two practically get glued together during my own shows, now knowing you two are on a date. You think that ain't mean to me?" Voice raised by a slight octave, it was clear he didn't want to, but Montgomery Gator isn't really known for being able to keep his anger in check. "Monty, i love you, you know this. And you know that I'm going to reject him either way," you barked back, not wanting to lose against him. "Sounds to me you're just scared of breakin' his heart."

This petty back and forth continued for a while, and though it got heated up for a second, you're just happy that Monty didn't get physical or start breaking things to let off steam, not that he does that or at least not when you're around, but it is still an intrusive thought that creeps itself in your mind. You look at him, defeated and tired from having to constantly tell him that you're not interested in the guy your friends had set up. Seeing that face of yours just makes him rile down, god damn it, look what you did, he's a softie now. "God damnit." He puts his hand through his hair, finally stopping to let you breathe.

"i don't, like him." This was your last attempt in telling him, voice so soft if Monty wasn't an animatronic, he probably wouldn't have heard you. "I get it, doll, i get it. Fine, whatever. Just, go finish your date or whatever and come back to me." He stopped himself the moment he sounded demanding, as he took a breath and look back at you. "Please?"

"Alright."

A few minutes pass, as you then went back to Monty's place, bringing a few bags of food with you. He didn't even realize when you came in, only continued to tear up his own room before stopping immediately when he saw you. "You're.. early." He spoke up, voice coated in confusion as you simply walked past him to sit on the couch that he had destroyed. "I told him to go home,"

His eyes grew wide as you said that, a grin so big making it obvious that he's absolutely delighted, "Really? Damn," he let out a small hearty laugh before picking you up, "That's my baby!" This was such a weird setting for this type of thing to happen. Monty just finished tearing his own place down as he lets out his anger, before then picking you up in happiness after you told him what you did. "Bet you're real happy huh?" You rolled your eyes, smiling softly at his antics. He didn't even try to hide it when he said yes, swinging you around before putting you back on the ground.

"I mean, i know that you're burning out for me and me only, so it wasn't a big deal." He shrugged, receiving a playful kick from you. "Right, say that to the same gator that cornered me earlier." "Oh but i know that you liked it, don't ya Sugar?" You let his question hang in the air, pretending to ignore him as you walk back to the couch, lazily positioned that you're basically laying down. "Yeah well, i still want an apology, you owe me a cuddling session."

You're sure to just ban your friends from ever setting up another surprise date for you. Maybe you should just tell them about you and Monty, well, not like they'll understand, you and Monty... You might even say that you two are on a different wave than anybody else, so does it even matter what they say? Even if you're just poisoning yourself by being with Monty, constantly straying from reality, so what? It's pretty poison, you'll take it.
