Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean they couldn't recognize a wedding ring??? And neither did he???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And time was saying this in his youth I mean cmon
Tumblr media
Twilight: So ancestor. What would you do if like. Malon left to another world and never came back
Time: ... bro Malon called me fairy boy and then we were married like what
Hyrule: So uhh old man. How does one. Meet a girl.
Time: By speaking to her I guess? Or not, Malon did the talking for me
Hyrule: riiiiight...
Wild *no tact*: Hey so like... what if your redheaded wife who's name started with M died.
Time: what?!?!
Wild, undeterred: but like before she proposed.
Time: ...
Wild: and you don't remember if you would have said yes. What's your advice for dealing with that?
Time: ... vent to a fairy?
Warriors: hey old man
Time: no no no not this one asking me please
Warriors: how do I get women to stop coming after me. So I can ya know. Choose without war trying to force me into relationships
Time: I can safely say I've never had that problem captain
Wars: of course not *smirks*
Wars: ok but seriously how do I make them go away
Time: ... wear a wedding ring so they think you're taken, I've got a shiny extra
Time: no no why- they won't stop, I don't know how to do love!
Time: ok well at least I have legend. That kid would never ask for advice, I'll sit by him.
Legend: so old man.
Time, looking forward to a normal conversation: yeah?
Legend: hypothetically, what would you do if you found out Malon didn't exist.
Legend: And her whole world didn't, but it did, and now it doesn't
Time: ...Excuse me for a minute.
Time, writing a letter as fast as he can: MALON HOW DO I GIVE LOVE ADVICE THEY THINK IM WISE
Malon: lol
Happy Valentine's Day guys, have a headcanon :P
The boys go to Time for love advice and Time spouts whatever wise-sounding bs he can, before shoving them all on Malon for therapy when they visit the ranch

Set The World On Fire
Chapter Six
Lando Norris had been incredibly angry when they met. Incredibly angry, but sweet enough to help her. Turns out he just needed somebody to talk to, somebody to be there for him.
He was easy to fall for, and that put her in a world of danger

"You need to stop taking me places in a private jet or I'm gonna get used to the princess treatment," she said with a giggle as she looked out of the window, watching the clouds go by. Below them was nothing but ocean.
Lando put his drink down. "C'mere," he said, beckoning her over.
She left her seat and walked over to him. Lando patted his suit clad thighs and she sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. They hadn't been dating for long; it was the most intimate thing they had ever done.
Lando had his arms wrapped around her. "Get used to the princess treatment," he said. "That's all you're gonna get with me." He kissed her cheek as she laid her head on his chest.
That was how they sat together on their flight to Spain. "What's your sister's fiancé's name?" She asked, her hand resting over his beating heart.
"Carlos," he answered. "He's an ass."
She rolled her eyes. "I'm sure he can't be that bad, he is gonna be your brother in law, after all."
"Trust me, baby, he's the worst."
Baby. She liked that. She really liked that. "Tell me everything I need to know. Who's gonna be there? Who of your family should I expect to meet?" She asked eagerly.
Lando couldn't stop himself from smiling. It was something he had noticed, that the only time he smiled was when she was with him. There was no way he could get through the wedding without her.
"Okay, so you've got Carlos and his sister. I've only met them once, but from what I remember, they just whisper mean things between each other in Spanish. Then there is Carlos's parents, Sainz and Mrs Sainz, his wife. I'll try and keep you away from them. Everyone else? I'll introduce them as you meet them," he said, his hand moving across her thigh.
She suppressed the shiver that ran down her spine. His fingers were so soothing. "What about your family?"
Lando shook his head. "My mum is dead, my step mum is dead, and my dad is almost dead," he said, his grip on her tightening.
"Shit, Lan," she whispered, hands reaching up to run through his curls. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't apologise, I never told you," he mumbled.
His phone went off, but Lando ignored it. She kissed the top of her head and squeezed her. "Thank you for coming," he whispered. "I seriously couldn't do this without you."
It wasn't long before they touched down in the Sainz family's private hangar. It was full of other private jets, from the other families that had arrived for the wedding. Lando took her hand and led her out of the jet. There was a car waiting for them when they stepped out into the warm Spanish air.
Lando opened the door to the car for her. "Such a gentleman," she said with a grin as she climbed into the car. Lando followed her in and placed his arm over her shoulders.
Their bags were placed into the back of the car and their driver set off. The fact that they had a driver was crazy. "How do you and your sister know Carlos?" She asked, settling against his side.
It was hitting her just how little she knew about him. And with every passing moment, the number of questions she had just grew.
Lando thought on his answer. It was easy for her to assume that it had been so long since they met that he didn't remember. "Our dads did business together a few years back," he answered simply.
She let out a laugh, her body gently shaking against him. "Seriously, Lan. Who the hell are you?"
Lando squeezed her shoulder. "Have you seen Legend?"
"The movie?"
He nodded his head.
"Lando, are you telling me you're a gangster?" She asked him, unable to hide the laugh about to erupt from her lips.
"No! No, but I'm essentially Ronnie Kray," he answered.
"Ronnie Kray, the gangster that sold protection to people?"
Well, that was part of that he did. "Yeah, but I'm not a gangster and everything I do is legal."
He was a fucking mystery.
***
Lando felt incredibly guilty about leaving her in the hotel room. But Hamilton had called for a meeting and, being the representative for the Norris family, he had to attend.
"I'll be gone an hour at most," Lando said as he leaned over to kiss her.
"Lan, it's fine," she said and pulled a book from her bag. "Have fun! Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" She called.
Lando let out a laugh. That kind of high pitched shrieking laugh that she was already in love with. "I'll try not to," he said and kissed her again.
He walked out of the hotel room as she cracked open her book.
Lando couldn't hide his smile as he climbed into the car waiting for him. It was already full of other heads of family or their representatives. Lando sat himself beside Magnussen and Perez. Max Verstappen, representing the Verstappen family, sat opposite him, with Mick Schumacher beside him.
Mick was... different. He wasn't representing the Schumacher family. But his father died before he was ready to takeover the family. The Verstappens tried to take Mick and his family in, but Schumacher had a plan in place in case of his death. He didn't want Jos looking after his family, and had instead sent them to the Wolff family.
That was who Mick was representing. His name was Schumacher, but he was representing the Wolff family.
"You brought someone?" Max asked Lando as he sat down.
Lando slowly nodded his head. "Yeah, I did," he said, not elaborating further.
"Is she... aware of what's going on?" Mick asked.
Lando sucked in a breath. "No," he answered, looking at the other representatives. "She hasn't got a clue.
Max leaned forward. "Interesting," he said, wearing a little smirk. "What did you tell her?"
"She's called me a gangster, and we're gonna leave it at that."
Max sat back in his seat, hands clasped together in his lap. "Good luck with that," he said, turning his attention to the window.
It was obvious what Max was thinking. Of course it was a bad idea to take her to a mafia wedding when she had no idea what was going on. But Lando wanted her protected from that world. The less she knew, the more protected she was. She could still get out.
Perez shook his head. "Bad idea, man," he said. "I didn't tell my wife and I almost lost her."
Lando didn't answer him.
The car pulled up outside of Sainz's house. They filled out of the car, one by one. Three more cars were already outside of the house, and it was clear they were the last ones there.
Lando walked into the house with Max. Just a few years before they would have been talking and laughing like kids while their fathers worked. But now they were the ones working in their fathers steed.
"How are you holding up?" Max asked quietly as they walked through the Sainz house.
Lando let out a breath, just grateful that Max had waited until they were out of the car to ask. He looked around the Sainz house, the house he had been in just weeks before. "She's somewhere in here," he said. "I just wanna know how she is."
They walked into the Library. Several chairs were set around a table, most of them filled. In the corner of the room was a much smaller table, a chess set on it. Lando knew exactly who had set that up.
He sat down and Max sat on his right. Alonso was on his left and the other heads of family filled the table. Carlos was there, sat beside his father.
The most commanding presence at the table was Hamilton. He gave Lando a slow nod as a drink was placed in front of him.
As soon as they all had drinks, Hamilton stood, glass in his hand. "As per tradition, we are here to celebrate the union of the Sainz family and the Norris family. The trading routes between Norris and Sainz will be reopened, benefitting all of us. Lets discuss product and trading route."
Clearing his throat, Lando stood with the speech his father had prepared for him. "This decade of war between our family has affected The Norris family and it's ability to move our product into other Spain and other European countries. This union will not only help reignite our relationship with the Sainz family, but will aid in our strengthening our relationship with the Ferrari family."
He placed the cards his father had written out for him into his pocket. "I do think it's unnecessary to involve my sister in things."
Brown eyes snapped towards him. "Hijo de puta." (Motherfucker).
Having said his piece, Lando sat down. He wasn't paying much attention as other heads of families discussed what the reopening of the trading route would do for them.
After five minutes, he stood up. He wordlessly left the room, navigating his way down the hall and into the kitchen, towards the bathroom.
But somebody was already in the kitchen. The fridge door was open as somebody, dressed in most of a fine suit, pulled cold beers from the fridge. He held them in his arms, used his elbow to shut the fridge and turned around.
He nearly dropped them when he saw Lando. "Oscar!" He called.
Oscar rushed to put the beers on the table. He threw his arms around Lando and patted his back. "I didn't think I'd be seeing you until tomorrow," he said, his hand on his shoulder.
"Hamilton called a meeting," he said.
Oscar nodded, making a mental note to keep her in her room for the night.
"How is she?"
Oscar breathed deep. "She's... coping," he said. "We're gearing up for one last fun night before the wedding." He pointed back to the beers and Lando nodded his head.
"Look after her for me, yeah?"
"I will."
Lando helped Oscar place the beers into his arms and sent him on his way.
a/n: (wow i never do these, this feels weird) Sup guys! So i mentioned the Kray twins and, for those that don't know, they were london gangsters in the 1950's (check out the film legend its soooo good). It feels like a gamble putting mention of them in here and if anybody is offended, send me an ask and I'll change it! (i purposefully didn't mention Reggie for obvious reasons)

teaching ghost how to make paper cranes but he keeps messing up with his huge ass hands <3333 (gn reader please! love your work❣️❣️)
*taps microphone* one “Ghost struggling” with a side of “Japanese paper folding art” coming right up. (A/N at the end)
———————————————————————
“This is even more annoying than Soap.”
“It’s not Soap’s fault you have sausages for fingers.” You murmur as you finish your tenth paper crane and set it on the conference table.
He examines the back of his hand as if he had just received a manicure. He then flips it over, palm facing up, and curls his fingers into a fist before releasing them.
“My fingers are not the problem,” he argues, “it’s these sheets; they are way too small.”
“Did you say ‘shits’ or ‘sheets’?” You quip, and he huffs at your comment. Yet, he picks up another piece of paper from the stack to try again.
You observe him as he leans over the table. He is pretty crafty when it comes to surviving in difficult situations; he can light a fire by creating a bow drill, build a shelter out of branches, and navigate the woods with a needle as a compass. But when it comes to these types of crafts, he struggles.
He starts folding again, a little gentler than before. Every time he completes a step, he pauses to assess his progress. He occasionally lets out a self-motivational hum and nods to himself.
But then something happens, and he loses it—a misaligned fold caused by his large hands or a paper rip as a result of his inexperience with handling such delicate materials. Sometimes he just feels discouraged, anticipating another failed try, and gives everything up.
Looking at his current attempt, you know the paper crane will fall apart. He completes his final folds and, as you anticipated, it comes loose. He groans and crumbles the paper.
“You can do it,” you assert. “I’ve seen you train unruly recruits with much more patience.”
“For fucks sake, Y/N,” he shouts, throwing his head back, “recruits are easier to shape into soldiers than moulding a fucking Post-it note into a duck.”
“It’s a crane,” you correct him; “ducks have another technique.”
“What’s the difference?” he complains. “Why do they have different folds if they are both birds?”
“For the same reason, an AK47 and an MP5 need different types of ammo, I guess.”
Despite his disappointment, he picks up another piece of paper and folds it again.
“Patience, Lt.,” you encourage him, “treat it as a recruit.”
He pauses for a minute, contemplating your advice, before he begins. He does not treat the paper as a target this time. He carefully pinches it with his fingers and folds it with his nails. In his eyes, the paper has taken on the appearance of something far too fragile. Something that needs to be helped and taken care of. It’s not against him, but with him—they’re allies working towards a common goal.
He completes it and places it in the palm of his hand, stretching his creation towards you. It’s not perfect, but nothing is.
“Excellent work, Lieutenant!” You cheer, and he proudly places his paper crane next to yours.
“It’s relaxing and meditative,” he admits; “all this folding and aligning makes you forget about things.”
“Things?” You ask as he pulls another sheet from the stack.
“You know,” he replies, staring at the paper in his hands, “bad things.”
You can see his emotions shifting through his eyes—they’re half-lidded as if they want to forget the atrocities they witnessed. His hands are fiddling with that paper; they are shameful hands in his mind—hands that participated in the worst horrors imaginable. They’re not worthy of making paper cranes.
“Paper cranes symbolise hope,” you comfort him, “and there’s a Japanese legend that says whoever makes a thousand of them will be granted a wish.”
His eyes light up, and he opens his lips to say something, but Soap enters the room. “What are you doing here?” He yells and sits on the table, right next to your paper cranes.
Ghost rolls his eyes at the sight of Soap but continues with his little project. “I’m making a thousand paper cranes to fulfil my wish.” He replies.
“What are you going to wish for, Lieutenant?” He asks, and Ghost replies with a stern “for you to get off my fucking back.”
You make quiet shushing noises to calm him down, and he inhales deeply.
“What is it that you want, Sergeant?” He finally asks, and Soap begins to report every problem around the base that would require Ghost’s attention.
“And the fridge broke last night, and all the meat has gone bad,” he concludes, “so it looks like we might have to eat a plant-based diet until we fix it.”
“That’s alright,” Ghost shrugs, “as long as we get our nutrients, we’ll be fine.”
Soap looks at you, dumbfounded. “Wow, Lt.!” he shouts, turning to Ghost, “these paper cranes have turned you into a bloody monk, haven’t they?”
“Paper crane, paper crane,” Ghost begins to chant as he folds, “go away, or you’ll end up with a fucking cane.”
“Ghost!” you cry. “Where is the patience and meditative state we discussed earlier?”
“I’m sorry,” he apologises and turns to Soap. “Namaste, sergeant,” he says and waves his hand in dismissal, “now fuck off.”
And who are you to tell him what to say or how to behave? You, too, are a project yourself, just like these cranes lined up in front of you. You look at the trash bin with all the papers he crumbled before completing his first successful paper fold art. Today he learned something new and joyful. Something that makes him feel content and proud rather than something that wakes him up in the middle of the night or, worse, prevents him from sleeping. Making a thousand paper cranes is so much better than watching him with that thousand-yard stare he gets after every mission.
Soap grabs one of your paper cranes, places it in his pocket, and leaves you two be.
Ghost completes his second successful paper crane and grabs another sheet. “Nine hundred and ninety-eight more to go,” he states, “you know, for that wish.”
———————————————————————
A/N: I had no idea how to make a paper crane, so I wanted to teach myself first in order to write this. And yes, I did it on a Post-it note (but not a sticky one). Also, this piece is 1000 words.

I feel like Nightwing doesn't kill is a promise. That's why criminals fear him. He won't kill. He'll make you wish you were killed, tho. He'll make sure you live, but the pain is what scares them. But maybe that's my way to look at it. Cuz my pretty boy is unhinged and feral in the most adorable way, hehe 😅😅
YESSSS! More than a promise to Bruce, it is a promise to himself.
Nightwing is only the nicest, sweetest, charming guy to civilians and allies but when he's serious criminals are terrified of him.
Tumblr media
The pure ice in his voice. He's itching-daring-the criminal to even try and shoot him. Just begging for it so he can give him the proper retribution.
Tumblr media
Here he's throwing a criminal from a speeding subway. He knows the action won't kill them, but it will seriously hurt them.
Tumblr media
More than that it's how he instills fear which has my greatest admiration. Dick is the symbol of hope and rebirth to the good and the heroes but he's a masked terror when it comes to villains. I love how he just doesn't go around scaring them the same way. Every single villain, he terrifies them in a different manner than he did the previous.
Here's my favorite of the series:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Do you have any idea what it feels like to burn to death?"
-the ice in his voice while surrounded by flames of anger both literal and figurative.
Tumblr media
"Residents on floors one through three died instantly when your bomb went off. But four and five the floors...fell through on them. And floor six...they burned."
*fanning myself because that was too hot*
He's special because he purposefully brings forth people's strengths and uses them to destroy themselves with it.
Bludhaven is the worst fictional place in all of DC. It's been alluded to in the DC Legends of Tomorrow and other comics but Bludhaven is almost practically inhabitable because of the way it is rife with crime. Riddled and filled.
To be able to clean up such a city that corrupt to its core, Dick had to be the brightest light to shine so the good will bask in him and seek reform like the citizens who were so desperately relieved at the reappearance of Nightwing during the Ric Grayson arc.
But he is also so unhinged and vicious and overwhelming enough to quell the worst of the worst and drag his city up from the mud. His mind is like a razor blade made of diamond in order to cut through the bullshit of his city and keep everyone in check.
That means he's unhinged and powerful and he revels in that insanity and strength to become someone worth looking up to.
He's so feral in the way his eyes shine just a little too bright and his perpetual smile always has a touch of wildness clinging to its edges.
He'll cackle with joy because for him he is living in the moment. Just pure, unadulterated joy that comes from being free and alive in a way we can't explain.

Prove It (Knight Anakin x PadawanFemReader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Unbearable, painful, soul crushing. That’s it felt like after closing off your bond with Anakin. It wasn’t a decision you made lightly, only doing so after you caught him running around with a certain little senator. However you are willing to reopen it, but only if he can prove that he does indeed want you more.
Warnings: 18+ (minors dni), because of all the lovely smut. Cheating Anakin, makeup sex…and Ani’s big dick. Padawan Reader is of age.
Notes: Happy Hayden's (And Mine) Birthday Event! In honor of the man, the myth, the legend; I will be posting nothing but Anakin, Vader, and Hay stories all April long!
A little something for a lovely anonymous! I really enjoyed writing this, it was truly a pleasure! I know it's like only a hint of angst in here, but I tried my best (still learning how to write for it). Hope you like it! ❤️
The sound of knocking filled you shared quarters, startling you out of your restless slumber. It wasn’t completely uncommon for you to struggle with sleeping; some nights were better than others. Tonight, or rather the past couple of nights, though had been the worst yet.
Unbearable, painful, soul crushing. Were just a few ways to describe how it felt. How it felt to be completely closed off from someone through the force. Someone who you cared for deeply, someone you thought was…
Not caring that you were only in a certain someone’s oversized tunic, you quickly made your way to the door. Knowing fully well who you would find on the other side.
A mix of emotions ran through you as you were greeted by the sight of a very disheveled looking Anakin. His face was red, eyes puffy. Tear tracks shining in the faint corridor lights. It seemed like you weren’t the only one who couldn’t get any rest…good.
Leaning against the frame, you crossed your arms across your chest. Gaze hardened, voice cold. “What do you want, Skywalker?”
“I… I, um…” The great hero without fear stuttered, cowering a bit before you. His hands twitching and trembling at his sides.
Noticing this, you had taken a step back. You didn’t need a bond to know what he wanted to do; to scoop you up in his arms and hold you close. And as much as you desired to give in, you refuse to do so. “I’ll ask again… What do you want, Skywalker?”
Despite your actions, he still reached out for you. Long fingers tentatively grazing and touching your side, before you slapped them away. “Fine,” he sighed in defeat, shoulders slumping. “I came here to talk to you…to try to make things right. Please…can I come in?”
You should have turned him away right then and there. But he looked so lost, so pathetic…you just couldn’t. “All right,” you huffed, stepping aside. “Get in here, don’t need you attracting unwanted attention.”
Ani perked up a bit and gave a small nod. “Thanks,” he muttered, quickly dipping inside.
The scene was all too familiar. Him sneaking into your shared quarter late at night. You both trying to contain your enthusiasms while you snuck off to your room. Hoping your master would remain in his deep slumber or, in instances like this, grateful to have him away on some kind of solo mission.
However, one thing was different…
“I’m surprised you’re here,” you said spitefully, closing the door behind you. “Shouldn’t you be at your precious, little senator’s apartment?”
You watched him flinch, your words clearly having the effect you hoped they would have. “No,” he replied, placing his big hands on your arms. “I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”
“Oh, really? Is that so?” You laughed, a hint of mockery in your tone. “If that’s the case, then why did you go somewhere else? Why did you feel the need to go run off to another woman’s bed, when you had a perfectly good one here?”
His hold on you tightened and he let out a shaky breath. “Okay, I deserved that. You have to hear me out though…please. Please?”
There were so many things you wished to say, to yell. Instead you just stood there; staring up at him, your expression unreadable.
When you didn’t reply, Anakin leaned down a bit. Brushing his lips across yours, whispering softly. “Hatari, I made a huge mistake. I don’t want her, only you. I love-”
“Prove it,” you boldly interrupted, a fiery glint in your eyes. “Show me right now and…I’ll consider reopening the bond.”
Silence fell between you two, the air grew heavy with tension and underlying lust. He was so close; you could feel his hot breath fanning over your face. Lips inches away from one another. “With pleasure,” he chuckled.
Giving you a chaste kiss, he pulled away. You were about to whine in protest, so touched starved, when he slipped out of his robes. Cock springing forth, wonderfully hard and deliciously leaking. That smug smirk on his face.
In an instant, Ani had hooked his strong arms under your thighs. Squeezing them, hiking them up onto his hips. Wrapping them tightly around his waist, pressing you firmly against the door.
Crashing your lips together, you kissed each other hungerly. Your hand reaching and fumbling to position his fat tip at your dripping entrance. “No panties? Were you expecting me, angel?”
“Shut up,” you growled in his ear. “And just kriff me already.”
“Maker you’re sexy when you’re angry,” he groaned. Pushing his impressive length into you, both of you moaning and hissing in unison.
Your hands flew to his shoulders, nails frantically scratching. As he pounded your needy cunt over and over. Grip nearly painful, fingers digging into and bruising your subtle flesh.
The sounds of skin slapping against skin filled the air while he slammed into you. Desperate mewls escaped you from him hitting that perfect, toe-curling spot. The coil in your stomach only winding tighter with each passing moment. “Faster… Kriff… Harder… Going to… Kriff…”
Spurred on by your encouraging words, Anakin’s thrusts grew sloppier. Invisible fingers drawing circles on your clit, trying to coax your orgasm out of you. “M-Me too,” he grunted, face buried in the crook of your neck. “Let go; let it all out f-for me.”
That’s all it took, and you were sent spiraling. Waves of pleasure washing over you. Whole body convulsing around him. Making him crash, spilling his hot cum deep inside you. All that pent up energy finally getting released.
You two stayed like that for a minute or two. Catching your breath, foreheads pressed together. Sighing in relief and happiness as your bond reopened.
“Missed you,” you giggled.
“Missed you too,” he laughed softly. “Forgive me?”
A wide, slightly twisted grin spread across your face. “Of course, Ani. But just know, if I ever see you with that little senator again… I’ll have to make you ‘prove it’ in a more aggressive way.”

Shizuroth, part five.
-
Sephiroth looks panicked.
Genesis looks him over with an experienced eye, swiftly and with increasing concern.
Defensive stance with his back to a wall and the Restroom's only exit clear in sight. His face is pale - well, it's always pale, but now he looks practically grey. Shadows under his eyes, wide eyes, mouth slack. Well, for Sephiroth, anyway. The man has a resting face of a statue carved by the thirstiest of hands, and sometimes Genesis wonders if he has a partial facial paralysis, so little does it change. But he can tell the difference between Sephiroth with a resting face and Sephiroth with a spooked face.
"Sephiroth," Genesis greets him.
"... Genesis," Sephiroth says, and it doesn't sound even vaguely irritated. Mostly he sounds confused.
How concerning!
Side effects, then, bad ones. He'd managed to get out of Injections without being held back, so they're not physical. Mental.
No outward aggression, his pose is subtly defensive, shoulders ever so slightly curled in, holding his PHS in both hands. Was he messaging someone? Unlikely, with Sephiroth, he must've been reading something, trying to distract himself, misdirect whatever is going on in his head. Or…
Or it's that… other side effect.
Genesis had been gearing up to annoy Sephiroth back into sanity, but with this new information he quickly changes tacks. Sephiroth isn't about to lose it - he already did. "I heard you were locked up in injections for a full day. How bad was it?"
Sephiroth hesitates and his fingers tighten around the phone. Then he looks down. Demurely?
What?
"Three times the maximum dose," Sephiroth says.
Oh. "What, are they trying to kill you now?" Genesis asks incredulously. "See how far they can push the envelope before it bursts into flames? Questionable indeed is the wisdom of a professor, by the Goddess." Sephiroth's doses are already the highest in the program.
Sephiroth looks at him weirdly. "... Well, my heart did stop," he says finally. "Apparently."
Genesis makes a face. "Condolences," he says, wincing sympathetically. That was always the worst. "What's the damage?"
"I'm fine," Sephiroth says quickly.
"Ha! My friend, legend shall speak of this day," Genesis points out, motioning around them, at the restroom. "Of the greatest warrior - holed up post-op in the Restroom. You scared the poor Third Class who was here, he sent out an SOS."
Sephiroth scrunches up his nose at that, mouthing that, SOS. "And so you're here to save my soul?" he asks bitchily.
Heh, already he's starting to feel better. And to think Lazard panicked about Angeal not being in Midgar to take care of it. Little does he know - Genesis is the best at this.
"I shall be your hero of dawn at this hour," he agrees and steps closer. No defensive reaction, so he dares to reach out. "It's alright, my friend - we've all been there."
Sephiroth looks uncomfortable with Genesis' hand on his arm but doesn't try to knock it off. "I…" he says and then glances down at Genesis' chest. He looks resentful.
Being such a big man, he does small and defensive poorly. It's like watching a dragon curl in a corner. Tragic and kind of terrifying.
"Feel like you got a hole in your head?" Genesis says knowingly. "All your thoughts rattled, memories all up in the air? Any idea about how much you lost?"
"I'm fine -"
"Last year I came out of the labs and I couldn't recite half of the dialogue from LOVELESS!" Genesis admits bluntly. "It was unbearable, I was beside myself for a week - I had to re-memorise the whole thing."
Sephiroth looks confused at that, giving him a wary look. "That's…" he trails away, uncertain.
"A common side effect. Happens to everyone, to some extent," Genesis assures him easily. Honestly, he thought it happened most to Sephiroth. He has the personality of a man chemically lobotomised… like a lot of the early SOLDIER candidates. "Mako gives and Mako takes. In the wake of these crashing waves, we do our best to fill in the broken flood barriers of our minds. So. What is the damage?"
Sephiroth hesitates. "It's… nothing I can't figure out on my own."
Obviously, and even if he couldn't, it wouldn't matter - Shinra didn't keep them on Mako for their brains or their wit. Sephiroth could lose his mind and become a drooling idiot, and Shinra would still pump raw force into his veins, so long as he did their bidding. Which is honestly a shame - Sephiroth, when he could be annoyed into it, had a poetic sense of humour and came across as an intellectual.
"My friend, fates are cruel," Genesis says, shaking his head. "But we need not face their winds alone. What can't you remember?" He was obviously trying to look up something, after all.
Sephiroth looks away, his eyes troubled, and hides behind the PHS. "... My room," he admits finally. "I can't… figure out where my room is."
Genesis carefully doesn't laugh at that. It's not funny. It happens to a lot of fresh SOLDIER, and it's never not hilarious, watching baby Thirds bumbling around like lost ducklings - but it's not funny now. Sephiroth must be seriously distressed. He doesn't know how to get home!
A snicker manages to slip through, and Sephiroth glares at him, hard. "Apologies, apologies, my friend," Genesis says and grins. "Happens to the best of us. Apparently! Did you not check your key card?"
Sephiroth scowls and digs around his pockets, bringing our four key cards. He looks at them with embarrassed frustration and Genesis picks out the one to his private room. "Here - the floor and room number is written right here."
"... Ah," Sephiroth says.
Oh! Genesis didn't know Sephiroth could blush!
Oh… oh, that is terrible, that's utterly horrible.
Genesis clears his throat. "Come, my friend, let me escort you to your dwelling," he says and motions grandly to the door. "Where we shall partake in that awful tea you favour and lament our pride lost!"
Sephiroth, still looking a little flushed, makes another bitch face at him and then allows himself to be herded out of the sanctuary of the Restroom.
Genesis despairs.
This man, this most devastating of individuals, tall and broad and proud and terribly handsome, isn't supposed to be cute!
-
I have decided that Genesis has the emotional intelligence brain cell and that's how he convinced bunch of SOLDIERs to defect with him; he's the wine mom friend.
Also watch me headcanon SOLDIER lore up the wazoo...

Here’s my (very late) birthday fic for @kikker-oma, it’s based off her art for day 17 of whumptober!
(Which at least one other person has already written a fic for but I didn’t realize until after I’d already started writing it so any similarities are pure coincidence 😅)

I hope you like it Oma, happy (very belated) birthday!!!
————————————————————
Something was wrong with Legend.
Time could see it in the way the teenager walked, his steps heavy and dragging. How he lingered at the back of the group and barely spoke, mostly just nodding along to whatever it was Wind was telling him, and didn’t go out of his way to speak to anyone, his words sharp and vicious when he did.
Normally Time wouldn’t think twice about Legend being a little extra antisocial and standoffish. He was often grumpy (though Time had seen his soft interior once or twice in the brief time they’d been traveling together), and it wasn’t surprising his mood would get a little more severe now and then.
No, the worrying thing was that it had been several days since the behavior began, and it hadn’t gone away yet.
If anything, it had gotten worse.
Legend seemed to get more lethargic and snappish as they traveled across the wilderness of Wild’s Hyrule, keeping to himself even more intensely, and largely ignoring the rest of them. He’d gotten paler too, in just the few days of whatever this was, and Time was only growing more concerned.
It was worrying. Incredibly so.
Time had been keeping a closer eye on Legend ever since he’d realized something was up, and most of the others seemed to catch on that something was wrong as well, but nobody had confronted Legend about it yet. Or if they had, hadn’t succeeded at all in fixing the problem. Twilight had tried to tactfully approach the subject just that morning, and Legend had nearly bitten his head off in response.
Time wasn’t sure what to do, and he wasn’t the only one.
After all, none of them liked to admit something was wrong with themselves— Time himself was certainly guilty of that— but Legend, prickly as he was, was one of the worst. Confronting him head-on about whatever the issue was would only make him more likely to deny anything was wrong at all, as Twilight had already demonstrated earlier.
But someone needed to get through to him, before something snapped.
And later that day, Time finally got a chance.
They’d reached a good spot to stop for the night, Time watching Legend like a hawk the entire trip there. The veteran had nearly tripped on nothing a few times, but had covered it up so quickly nobody could call him out on it.
They had eaten dinner fairly quietly for once, Wild roasting some mushrooms and meat of some kind. Legend kept to himself during the meal, barely picking at his food, and staying out of the conversation. Everyone pretended not to watch, but it was almost laughable how obvious it was that they were all keeping an eye on him, the worry hanging like a cloud over the group.
And Legend seemed to have noticed the increased scrutiny, as later when the heroes were all settling down for the night— cleaning up dinner, getting out bed rolls— Legend stood and told them all he was going to patrol around.
“Really? Are you sure?” Hyrule piped up, and Four frowned from next to him when Legend nodded.
“...By yourself?” the smithy asked.
A very slight edge of concern lay in his voice, and Legend’s shoulders immediately hiked up to his ears.
“What, you think I can’t handle myself?” he shot back in a sharper tone than normal, and Four quickly raised his hands in a peaceful gesture.
“Of course not Vet, I know you can,” he reassured, and Warriors stepped in.
“Exactly. It’s just dark, and we’re in unfamiliar territory, that’s all,” Warriors put in, and Legend turned to glare at him.
“Yet that’s never an issue when Twilight goes off by himself,” Legend snapped. “Shove off Captain. I’m the veteran, remember? I’ll be fine.”
Then before anyone could stop him, he disappeared into the trees.
All of them watched in an uncomfortable silence as Legend stomped away, and Time stopped Twilight when he went to follow him, placing a hand on his arm.
“Best we wait until he’s calmer,” he said, and Twilight exhaled, then sat down. “...And probably best someone who hasn’t made him mad yet go.”
“I think that’s just you at this point,” Sky pointed out, and Time paused, then sighed as he realized Sky was right. Every single one of the rest of the group had been the target of Legend’s ire in the past few days. Time somehow was the only one who had escaped unscathed... which made him the perfect candidate to follow Legend now.
“All right,” he agreed somewhat reluctantly, and settled down to wait.
“Hylia be with you,” Wild muttered as he cleaned his cooking pot. “You’re gonna need her.”
(...)
Half an hour later, as the others either went to bed or tried to busy themselves, Time got up and headed in the direction that Legend had stormed off in.
The moon was large and bright in the sky, and Time almost didn’t need the lantern he’d brought to find Legend’s trail. Though despite the moonlight lighting his path and the assistance of the lantern, it took Time much longer to find the hunched-over figure of Legend then he’d thought it would.
Legend had gone a fair distance from camp, and plunked himself down on a large fallen tree, his head bowed as he stared at the ground. He didn’t react when Time stepped a bit closer, and Time frowned as he watched him for a moment.
Were his shoulders shaking?
Time purposely crunched a few leaves to signal his presence, and Legend’s ear twitched in response. He didn’t do anything else though, and didn’t look at Time when he carefully sat down beside him on the log and set down the lantern.
An owl hooted nearby, and Time listened to it a moment before letting out a quiet sigh.
“They can be an overbearing bunch, can’t they?” he remarked in the silence, the owl going quiet.
Legend flicked an ear, and didn’t respond.
“...They mean well, though,” Time continued when the silence stretched between them. ”They’re not trying to be overwhelming, or even nuisances. They’re... just concerned about you, Vet.”
Legend let out a little huff of air that almost sounded amused.
“Right,” he said flatly. “Well they shouldn’t bother, there’s nothing to be concerned about.”
His hand tightened where it was held around his waist, and Time couldn’t help but notice when it did. Legend’s face seemed paler in the moonlight shining down on it as well, but when he saw Time staring at him, he scowled.
“Go back to camp old man, I’m fine,” he muttered.
Time took a deep breath. Nayru grant me wisdom, here’s where it gets tricky.
“The way you’ve been acting the past few days seems to speak towards a different answer,” he said in a level voice.
“Well whatever it is you think you’ve noticed is all in your imagination,” Legend shot back, clutching his middle even tighter.
Time looked at it again, and paused in what he was about to say as a thought suddenly dawned on him. He couldn’t remember for sure, not everything at least, but if he was right... would Legend really do something so detrimental to his health like that?
“Legend... when was the last time you ate anything?”
Legend’s mouth turned into a thin, hard line.
Ah-ha.
“That’s none of your business.”
“It is if you’re pushing yourself not to for some reason,” Time said, firmness creeping into his tone as he watched the boy. “We have plenty of supplies Legend, why aren’t you eating?”
“I never said I wasn’t,” Legend snapped back, glaring at him. “And even if I am, maybe I’m just not hungry.”
“Not hungry at all?” Time asked with a raised eyebrow, thinking back to the past several days. “Legend, I don’t seem to recall you actually eating anything recently, you can’t just starve yourself.”
“Oh yeah? Well maybe it would be better for everyone if I did!”
Time blinked in surprise, and Legend’s anger seemed to falter a moment, something horribly vulnerable cracking through the prickly mask he’d thrown on. But he quickly tossed it back over himself, despite the tears trying to gather in his eyes, and his expression reverted back to the anger he’d possessed a few moments ago.
“Link,” Time said quietly, and Legend looked away. “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing. Okay? Would you shove off?”
“Legend,” Time said imploringly, and Legend’s ears pinned back against his head.
“Look I’ve handled it alone before, I can handle it now,” Legend suddenly bit out, his voice thick with emotion. “It’s just— nothing!”
“Nothing wouldn’t make you raise your voice like this,” Time pointed out.
“Well it is!” Legend said in a slightly quieter tone, though it still shook in anger.
Something in Time’s chest ached at the rawness in his voice and the tears that had returned to his eyes. Legend’s lip was trembling, but he was firmly biting down on it to stop it from doing so, and he looked like he was close to losing what control he had left.
Time studied him more intently, trailing carefully over skin flushed with anger, over shaking fists and shoulders, at the hand still held close to his middle.
The shakiness, refusing to eat, the paleness of his face...
Time’s eye widened as a new thought crossed his mind, and he exhaled, reaching a careful hand towards Legend.
“Link, you’re sick, aren’t you?” Time asked in a soft voice, and Legend’s eyes widened, then narrowed. “That’s at least part of this, isn’t it?”
Legend slapped away his extended hand.
“Go away,” he bit out, something truly dangerous in his voice, but Time was nearing the eye of the storm and he wasn’t prepared to back out now. “Go back to camp, wander in the woods or whatever, I don’t care. Just leave.”
“Legend,” Time said, shifting closer. “You can’t keep ignoring this. You nearly fell over earlier, how long have you been feeling ill?”
“There’s nothing to ignore,” Legend snarled. “Just— just leave me alone.”
“I can’t do that,” Time said, his voice soft, but firm. “You need help, and I won’t—”
“I don’t!” Legend shouted, his voice hoarse. He tried to get to his feet, but Time quickly caught him by the wrists, stopping him from leaving. “Just— let go!”
Time shook his head, and Legend tried to jerk out of his hold with no success.
The teenager’s wrists were warm in his grasp, and Time could feel them shaking, though he wasn’t sure if it was from anger or the illness Legend was fighting. Either way, he wasn’t making any headway in escaping, even though Time was sure Legend would have normally been halfway across the forest by now.
Legend tried to swing a fist at Time, but he didn’t succeed in the slightest, the older hero still holding him tight.
“What’s wrong, Link?” he asked, and Legend only struggled harder in his grip.
“Let go!”
Time shook his head, and Legend let out a cry of frustration.
His eyes were glassy with tears as he glared, and his breath came in short pants as he tried desperately to free himself. Legend’s facade of being perfectly fine had dropped in his anger and panic, and Time was now wondering how on earth any of them had missed just how bad things had gotten.
“Leave me ALONE old man!” Legend shouted.
But Time kept holding him, equally gentle and firm as he tried to lurch away. He met Legend’s eyes, stormy and swirling with emotion, and gave his hands a soft squeeze.
“Legend, son, please let me help you,” he said softly.
Legend’s face twisted with rage.
“Don’t call me that!” he nearly screamed, and tried one last time to pull Time’s arms out of his grip.
But he was too weak to free himself, the sickness affecting his strength. Legend couldn’t do anything but struggle, his breath coming in quick gasps, wrists trembling in Time’s hold as he tried to free himself with one last burst of desperation.
Then he crumpled forward, a sob wracking his body.
Time’s eye widened, and he caught Legend, immediately running a hand through his bangs. His forehead was hot where Time’s fingers brushed it, and Legend was shaking so hard he felt like he would fall apart, Time soothing him as he sobbed again.
“Legend, easy,” Time whispered, panic trying to burrow into his chest. He’d never seen Legend like this, screaming and crying and showing his emotions in such a blatantly un-Legend way. And he didn’t exactly have experience with soothing sobbing, feverish teenagers, but Legend was acting so strange...
There’s something else at play here then just a virus, Time thought worriedly, Legend letting out an unsightly hiccup.
All of Legend’s strength seemed to have been used up by their argument, and he lay nearly limp against Time’s arm, shivering, with tears still escaping the corners of his eyes.
“What’s wrong, Link?” Time asked again, careful and soft.
This time Legend didn’t try to pull away or scream at him. He merely let out a quiet breath, one that shuddered on the exhale.
“I... I don’t...” Legend croaked, his eyes squeezed shut. “I can’t... again.”
“You can’t what?” Time asked, and Legend swallowed, tears trickling down his cheeks. Time shifted his grip a little so that Legend’s head rested more comfortably on his shoulder, and waited for him to continue.
“...Care,” Legend whispered finally. His hand tightened where it was fisted in Time’s shirt. “Every time I-I care, someone gets... hurt. I get hurt, I... I can’t again, not...”
He let out a shuddering breath, and his eyes squeezed more tightly shut.
“I don’t want you all to care,” he whispered.
Time looked down at the boy in his arms, shivering and feverish and trying so desperately to fight through it himself, and exhaled.
Oh.
Legend curled into himself at the admission, tears still falling down his cheeks, and Time suddenly saw himself, trying to keep a safe distance from everyone who tried to care for him, afraid of anyone slipping past his barriers and finding the scared little boy hiding behind so desperate for love.
Time swallowed.
We’re all horribly similar, are we not?
“...Being known is a terrifying thing,” Time said after several moments of silence drifted past, voice barely a whisper.
Legend shuddered again.
“I used to think it impossible,” Time whispered. “To be known, but not hurt. Drifting along and staying unattached seemed best, safer. Even when I was in desperate need of help, taking care of myself... seemed like it would hurt less. Without Malon, I have no doubts I would still be that way.”
Time sighed, and looked down at Legend, not even sure if the words were getting through his fever.
“Legend... you don’t have to tell us everything. But we are a team. Brothers, in spirit if not by blood. By merit of those things alone... we care for you,” he said simply. “I have no doubt that if any one of us were in the condition you’re currently in, you would be caring for them as fiercely as anything.“
Time shifted, and met Legend’s eyes, puffy and red, and bright with fever and exhaustion.
“Let us do the same for you.”
Legend closed his eyes and let his head fall back against Time’s shoulder, face scrunched slightly with pain. Several long moments went by, and then Legend let out an exhausted exhale, and gave Time the smallest nod he’d ever seen.
“...Sure. Fine,” he muttered, almost so quietly Time didn’t hear him. “...But only because my head is pounding so hard I can’t... think of anything better at the moment.”
“Trying is half the battle,” Time said with a faint smile, and Legend sighed again, heavy and exhausted.
Time pulled Legend up into his arms, and noted with a bit of worry that Legend was rather frail in his hold, still shivering. And normally the veteran would protest up and down about being carried, but Legend was completely silent, only a few leftover sniffles coming from him as Time hooked the lantern he’d brought to his belt so his hands would be free.
It truly was a miracle Legend had lasted this long without collapsing in front of them all— but Time knew the power of stubbornness when it came to this sort of thing. Malon was still mad at him for that time he’d tried to milk the cows when he’d had that broken wrist.
It was still impressive, though.
I wonder how long he’s had a fever, he wondered as Legend shifted in his arms. One this intense wouldn’t just appear... it must have been at least a day or two.
“...Don’t tell the others,” Legend suddenly whispered as Time began to walk back to camp, and Time looked down at him. “About... you know.”
Time nodded. “The only thing they get to know about is you being sick,” he promised, and Legend relaxed a bit further in his arms.
When they got back to camp, everyone stared, but nobody commented on Legend’s tear-streaked face, or the fact that he was shivering and being carried. Twilight made eye contact with Time, looking at Legend in concern, and Time mouthed the word ‘fever’.
Twilight’s face softened with understanding, and he quickly put out Legend’s bedroll so Time could get Legend into it.
Legend didn’t resist, and the others didn’t directly address the fact that he had obviously been hiding the fact that he was sick from them all. They merely went about their business, occasionally drifting by where Legend was lying in his bedroll, offering a few words, or some food, or just quiet company that offered to place a wet cloth on his forehead.
And when Legend finally fell asleep, he looked more relaxed then Time had seen him in weeks.

𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: after his release and escape from Russia, Ben finds himself back in the states but it’s not the same place he’s known before. nonetheless he is determined to get his revenge on Payback for setting him up, and perhaps he’ll finally reunite with you after all these years. He can’t help but wonder… did you wait for him the whole time he was gone?
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: minor spoilers to season three, Ben’s point of view when he saw The Legend when he returned to the states. no major spoilers.

Russia…
God what Ben would give to get the Hell out of this country.
Yes, he was conscious but barely because of the fumes that were held up to his face. He lost track of so much time and he didn’t even know what day it was anymore. Let alone what year.
Ben didn’t feel strong enough because of these blasted fumes, he couldn’t even break out of a stupid metal box. He felt the worst feeling a man could feel when he was tortured and experimented on. He felt helpless, humiliated, betrayed by his own teammates.
Did they really hate him that much? Sure he was a bit hard on them, gave them a few beatings here and there to knock some sense into them. But was it really enough to try and get him killed?
This whole time his hope was that Crimson Countess would come and find him. After all, he hadn’t broken up with her yet and he thought she still loved him. After all, with you being retired, there was no way Vought would ever tell you what part of Nicaragua he was stationed, or even what his own team did behind his back.
You were right though, and he wished now that he would have listened to you.
Outside of his prison, he swore he was able to hear some voices. Probably those damned Russians coming to pull him out for more experiments. Maybe that could be his chance if they didn’t sedate him this time.
The next thing he knew, he could hear some sort of alarm going off and he was still motionless. It was like he was in some sort of coma and he hated that he could hear a lot of what was happening, but he couldn’t do anything about it. It was his own personal Hell.
Then everything went quiet after the gunfire. He wondered what the hell must’ve happened, what went wrong?
Ben didn’t believe in miracles, but the next thing he knew he could here someone stepping up to this damned metal box. It had to be some supe because no human could take off the front of this damned thing so easily. Was it Vought?
If it was Vought, there was no way in Hell he would ever go back there. Not after the shit they did to him.
As the fumes inside of the vault finally seemed to dissipate, he felt like some kind of fog was finally being lifted. Ben slowly tilted his head to see if he could actually move and to his surprise… he could. He slowly opened his eyes, and at first his vision was a little blurry, even he had to admit that. Who knew how long they had been closed since he hadn’t used them after all.
Once the fog was lifted for him, however, he looked down at his restraints and all it took was a bit of a flex to tear them off. Must’ve been old material by now. Ben took the IV’s out of his arm and whatever sticker things were on his chest and he tossed them to the side. He took off the mask that was blowing the fumes into his system and he felt more alert after that.
He lifted his arms out and gripped onto the outside of the vault to steady himself as he prepared to use his legs again for the first time. One step forward, then another, then he was out of the vault.
He lifted his gaze, realizing that his vision was clearing up nicely, only to notice a group of people were standing in front of him looking stunned. One of them looked like he was about to shit himself.
As he walked further into the room, he realized he had this new sort of energy rushing through him. Something that was much more than just some kind of adrenaline rush. This was different, new, something that had to be the result of whatever radiation the Russians filled him up with to see what could kill him.
He looked down and closed his eyes, concentrating to see exactly what would happen if he focused. Then he started feeling something from within his chest. It felt like some sort of heartburn, but it wasn’t really painful like one.
Nonetheless, the feeling was intense and his chest began to glow and as he tried to release the power, this energy blast escaped from him and it destroyed the back wall that was blocking his way.
When he looked up and saw the damage he had done, he had to admit it was a little surprising that he could do this sort of thing now. Maybe that was the only thing he could thank the Russians for. Not that they’d get his thanks after the shit they put him through to get to this point.
Ben looked forward, not really giving much of a damn to get to know the people that released him, and he walked out of the room and into the hall.
Eventually, he found some guy and knocked him out so he could take his clothes. After all, there wasn’t much of a reason to have your junk out unless he was at herogasm. Once he was dressed, he felt something fall from the pocket of the pants he was putting on.
When he looked down, he saw some rectangular screen. Ben lifted a brow as he bent over and picked it up just to see that it lit up. He squinted a little before he blinked again and saw some picture on the screen. There was even the date and time on this thing.
“What the fuck?”
Well he didn’t exactly expect to live past the turn of the millennium. The 2000’s? Well, according to the lit up brick it was the 2020’s.
That was more time than he expected he lost while he was there. He wondered if you had still waited for him all this time or if you had forgotten about him after a few years of him being gone.
You…
He had to get back to you, Everything in Ben was screaming at him to make it back to the states to get back to you somehow. He wondered if you were even still alive or if you’d be alive and.. well a bit older now with how much time has flown by.
Then he remembered the one thing he promised himself that he would do. He never broke things off with Countess. Well, after what she and the rest of his team did, he was pretty sure it was already over but Ben? Well, Ben wanted to make sure things were more than official. Make her and the rest of his old team pay for the time he’s wasted being here when he could have spent the last several decades being with you.
1984…
After he shut the door behind your apartment, he looked at his team. All of them looked frustrated with him for taking so long. Well, with the exception of Black Noir since his mask was covered.
“Who the fuck do you think you’re looking at? Do you want me to tell you how many damn times I’ve had to wait on all of you when we have to go on a mission? Head out to the car before I crack your fucking skulls open.” He told them and they all started going out to the car so they could get to the headquarters.
Ben looked back at your door with a certain aching in his chest.
He knew you tended to have some sort of intuition about some missions. He wondered since you were clearly worried about him, if he would have anything to be genuinely worried about, or if you were just trying to find an excuse to make him stay.
He hoped that you knew that if he could stay with you, than he would have. But this was Ben’s job, and he didn’t have that much of a choice.
Once Ben made it to the car that took him into that plane so they could go out of the country, his mind started wandering off to you. He wondered if you liked the little gift he gave you. He wasn’t exactly huge on sentimental shit, but you meant something to him and he wanted you to have something to remember him by just in case your little intuition was right and he did have something to worry about.
Eventually, Ben made it to an airport and snuck his way into a cargo plane. It was an easy enough way to not get caught since it seemed entirely too complicated to sneak in the actual airport. Nobody would believe he was Soldier Boy, and he highly doubted people would believe it anyway since it’s been so long.
Anyway, once he got onto the cargo plane, he did what he could to make himself at least semi-comfortable since he had a feeling this would be a long flight.
The one thing he was looking forward to, though, was seeing your smiling face again after so many years.
He was finally coming home.
Tumblr media
A few days had gone by and you knew Butcher and his little team must’ve made it to Russia by now. Well actually, they may have even arrived back in the states if they’ve successfully found what they were looking for. You just hoped they would find the answers so they could end Homelander. The world deserved to know the truth about their beloved heroes and their many imperfections.
On the other hand, you had a feeling that such a weapon couldn’t actually exist. It was just some kind of folklore at this point, a legend that you genuinely thought to be myth. If that were the case, though, you wondered how they would end up defeating Homelander.
Then again, if what you heard was correct and that group that came to visit you was really involved in the death of Translucent, you were sure they would find an alternative way of taking care of Homelander. They seemed like a smart enough group to improvise something if things weren’t going to go their way.
For the time being, you were at the store, just getting some groceries you needed at the house. It gave you an excuse to get out and about somehow without drawing much attention. Plus you needed food before you got hangry.
While you were grabbing some ingredients you were planning for some meals that week, you could hear a few other shoppers talking about the news and when you looked over at one of them, they were pointing at a television screen.
You glanced up at the tv at one of the corners in the store, your eyes widened when you saw the reports of a building that experienced some sort of explosion. It wasn’t released to the public how many people suffered or died because of what happened, but you knew the numbers would be released eventually.
“Do you think it’s another Super Terrorist?” One person asked their friend.
“They’re called Super Villains. Didn’t you hear Homelander? That’s the better term, obviously.”
You couldn’t help but to roll your eyes at the conversation. Just because some famous guy says one thing sounds better shouldn’t mean the whole world has to stand by it. People were allowed to have their own opinions and they should learn to think for themselves rather than look to supes for political accuracy.
Your eyes widened when you saw the footage released on the news. Some terrorist used some sort of energy blast to destroy that building. How many people did that person kill?
There were times you couldn’t believe the kind of monsters that were out there today. And you thought Hitler was bad, having lived through that. Why were people so insane? You couldn’t believe what this world was coming to and you couldn’t help but feel out of place sometimes.
Shaking your head, you went back to minding your own business as you tried to think of what you should eat for dinner that night and what ingredients you needed. Some Italian dish came to mind so you picked up some pasta, Alfredo sauce, and some seasonings you needed. Then you went to the meats, you grabbed some chicken and you picked up some shrimp and garlic bread from the frozen aisle.
After that, you went to the wine area and tried to think of what sort of wine you were in the mood for that evening.
Gosh, you could hear Ben’s voice in your head making fun of you for being a wine drinker after all the times you both would have some beers together, or maybe the harder stuff after a long mission he had. Although it’s not like either of you could get drunk unless you had a full bottle or two for the each of you.
You smiled to yourself as you remembered some of the drinking games you two would come up with when you would watch old voices. You knew Ben hated watching romance movies but one time your forced him to watch Gone with the Wind with you, and he made up the bright idea of making a drinking game out of it. Anytime Scarlett would flirt with, kiss, or even hug Ashley it was one drink. That was just an example of the nonsense he’d come up with in the movie.
In the end, you decided to pick up some Franciacorta, just some sparkling wine for your supper that evening. Maybe you would even watch Gone with the Wind again, without playing Ben’s little drinking game.
After finding everything you needed, you went to the register and bought everything. You walked out of the store you grabbed everything you needed before you started making your way home.
As you walked out with your bags in hand, you started walking to your car when something caught your attention through your peripheral vision. You glanced over and you saw a man in what looked like a grey runners outfit of sorts with a red stripe on his jacket. He had long hair, a very messy beard that was in desperate need of a trim. But he had these eyes that seemed so familiar, eyes that you hadn’t seen in decades.
“It couldn’t be…” You whispered and when you took a step forward, a large bus with some poster for The Seven drove by and once it passed, the mystery man disappeared.
“Ben…”
It couldn’t be true. He was dead. You hadn’t seen him in decades, everyone in Vought said he was dead. The whole world knew he was gone. How was he still alive. That had to be him right?
What if you were mistaken and it was just some kind of look alike? What if it was just some sort of freak coincidence? Surely you were just seeing things because of those people that swung by your house a few days ago.
You went to your car and popped open the trunk so you could set your groceries down. Afterwards, you went into the car and started to drive home, completely unable to get that man’s face out of your mind.
The man’s face, even if it was covered by the unruly facial hair, you knew deep down that was your Ben. But how did he get back into the states if he was out of the country for so many years?
“You’re imagining things. It couldn’t have been him.” You reminded yourself.
If it were really your Ben, he would have contacted you a long time ago if he were still alive. So you had to be reasonable about this. Maybe if you just go on about your business, you would be able to move on and forget you ever saw that stranger. What you saw couldn’t have been a reality.
After a while you had arrived home and you grabbed the groceries from the trunk of the car. The trip from the car to your front door was a short one but you noticed an envelope taped to your door.
You lifted a brow and you shifted the bags from one hand to the other, you were just glad you didn’t have that many bags after all. Taking the letter from your front door, you opening it to enter your home. You shut the door behind you with your heel before entering the kitchen so you could set everything down on the counter. Once your hands were finally free you opened up the envelope to see what was inside.
When you pulled out what was inside, your eyes widened.
It was a picture, a close up, of the man you used to know. He was in the last uniform he ever wore before his out of the country trip. He had his mask off and he was already there in Nicaragua with his team. It was a photo that was never released to the public.
You looked at the back of the photo to see if there was a name, note or anything on it but it was blank. What you found was simply a heart and the date the photo was taken. It was such an old photo and you could tell that Ben wrote the date with the heart a long time ago. So it couldn’t have been recent, unfortunately.
You wished you knew who had this photo for so long. Why did they keep it? Was it one of his teammates?
You wondered if Countess had something to do with it. She never did like you for whatever reason. You didn’t really care to know why though.
When you were about to set the envelope down somewhere, you noticed a little notecard fell out. Your tilted your head a little before you bent down and picked it up and read the notecard. The handwriting was clearly feminine but you proceeded to read.
Hi Miss Y/N,
My name is Annie and I’m friends with Hughie. I’ve found this picture of Soldier Boy somewhere in the files in Vought and thought you might like to have it.
Best regards,
Starlight.
That was oddly sweet of her to give you a picture of Ben. Hughie telling a member of The Seven where you lived felt a little unsettling though. You weren’t sure if you could necessarily trust it, but none of them have exactly given you a reason not to trust them just yet.
The best you could do at the moment was just set the note to the side and went to your little desk in your office. You realized you never put your chest back where it belonged that had all of your letters to Ben.
The events of today were definitely worth writing about. Maybe one quick little letter before dinner couldn’t hurt anything, could it?
When you grabbed your writing paper and a pen, you began your letter which was practically a run down of everything that’s happened within the last couple of hours.
Ben,
You wouldn’t believe what happened today. Supe Terrorists are active and I think I’m hallucinating…
Tumblr media
Ben ended up visiting with The Legend after his little mishap with that building after his arrival.
Honestly he couldn’t explain what happened. He was still getting used to his new abilities, sure, but he wasn’t even trying to use them when he killed all of those people. The news released the numbers and he found out he killed 19 people.
“So how did you do it?” Ben’s old friend asked while Ben stood in the bathroom looking at himself in the mirror.
“Do what?” He questioned as he looked at his hair and beard. You’d have his head if you saw him walking around like this. You hated if he didn’t trim his beard, now he understood why.
“You got a razor or a trimmer anywhere?”
“Yeah, second drawer on your left. And you know what I meant. How the Hell did you fake your own death?”
Ben rolled his eyes as he pulled out the drawer to look for the razor. What he saw wasn’t a single blade like he was used to, but it looked like it had five blades.
“Who the fuck needs five blades to do the job of one blade?” Ben asked as he held up the razor and the old man just shrugged.
“Just keeping up with the times, Ben. Now are you gonna answer the question or not?”
“Let’s just boil it down to I got lucky, alright?” Ben finally answered before he looked at the man through the mirror.
“Although… I would like some info on Countess. She still suckin’ in air?”
“Yeah, as far as I know. Although, I’m getting the feeling your little reunion won’t blow over too well, will it?”
Ben just let out a hum, “We’ll see how it goes for her. Do you happen to know what went down in Nicaragua?”
“What do you mean? Everyone said you were killed and whatever supposedly killed you was in Russia.” Legend commented as he stood there, somewhat amused while watching Soldier Boy use a different razor than what he was used to.
“So you don’t know everything that went down?”
“Am I supposed to know what went down?”
Ben sighed. Honestly he wasn’t sure if Legend was telling the truth on this one or not but he did trust him enough to not kill him. No, he just wanted his revenge on his former teammates, “The team set me up. Countess, Noir, Gunpowder, all of them.”
“Shit, Man.”
“They tried to get me killed then they sent me to Russia. I’m just lucky I found my way back.” Ben said and he put the razor down before he picked up some scissors to start trimming his hair.
“So that’s why you’re off to see Countess, huh? Ask her who exactly was behind it and all?”
“Well duh. I just wonder if it was a Vought thing or if it was just the crew wanting me dead.”
“Good luck with all that. You’ve never really had that many problems getting what you wanted out of them, excluding the end of course.”
Then he remembered the woman he saw not long after he blew the building. At first he could have sworn it was you, but he wondered if it was just some sort of relative of yours that looked almost exactly like you. Ben just had to know for sure if it was you or not.
“Have you heard about Quake? Is she still around?” He questioned while he focused on his trim.
“Quake? Last I heard she was alive and kicking. No one’s heard from her in decades though since her retirement. You know how she was though. If she wasn’t really into the fame Payback brought you and your old team, she’s not going to want the public to know where she is or what she’s been up to.” Legend replied.
Ben couldn’t help but to smile a little to himself. You had your little quirks and he thought it was cute that you never cared much about the fame of everything. He thought it was sweet in your own little way that you wanted him all to yourself and wanted him to break up with Crimson Countess before you even slept with him.
“You know, a lot of people speculated after your death if you two had a thing for each other.” Legend said just as Ben finished up trimming his hair and he brushed the remnants off his shoulders.
“So is that why you’re asking about her? You planning on seeing her too?” Ben looked over when he heard the question.
“I need to know who my allies are is all. Clearly Payback doesn’t have my trust anymore.”
“You’re avoiding the question.”
“Come on, I’ve been gone decades and you’re wondering if I’ve got the hots for Quake? She’s probably moved on by now.” He rolled his eyes. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s lied to Legend, or withheld information.
“Uh huh. Right… well she never ‘moved on’ as you say. She doesn’t have any kids or grandchildren. There’s no record of her getting married either.”
Those words made Ben’s heart swell. You actually waited this whole time? He could hardly believe something like that. Most people would have moved on.
“Right… well… Do you know where Countess lives? I’d better be off before Vought IDs me in the video the news released this morning.” Ben cleared his throat
Legend sighed a little and he walked over to his desk where he had a sheet of paper. He wrote down the supe’s address before handing the sheet over to Ben.
“Watch your back out there, Soldier Boy. Things aren’t exactly the same as how they were when you were still presumed alive. Shit’s changed and they have a lot of security cameras. Vought’s gonna have access to those.” Legend warned.
“Yeah… you’re telling me. Never in my life have I felt out of place. It’s fucking weird.” He said and he took the paper from his friend, shoving it into a pocket.
“Wish me luck.”

You Show Up While He’s Traveling Part 3
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Part 1 Part 2
Part three will include Time, Warrior and Wild.
Content under the cut!
Time
Time was going over what they had to work with and what they would be able to do with it. It would take a while until they would be able to restock and there wasn’t a lot of things in the environment where they could forage their own materials.
He rubs his temples and sighs. This would frankly be a lot easier if he was by himself. Not that he minds the company of the boys too much, but they don’t seem to realize how many resources they seem to sap out of what they have.
“Hey Old Man!” He hears them call, making his head hurt more than he’d ever tell them. “We found someone that says they know you!”
Time frowns and looks away from his logical puzzle. That claim should be impossible. This isn’t his home and he’s far from any acquaintances. Who would say such a thing?
“And who are they?” He calls back, putting the supplies away. He’ll come back to it.
“Someone. How should we know?” Time can hear the way Legend rolls his eyes. “They asked if we’ve seen Link. Bulky. Heavy armor. Scar over his eye with red and blue facial markings. We figured they must be legit if they could name specifics.”
Time stands and makes his way over to check it out. He stalls. Time can feel the way his jaw goes slack and how he nearly trips over his own two feet. Your name tumbles from behind his lips. He can’t believe this.
You seem to sag with relief and throw yourself towards him. “I was so worried. Thank Hylia, you’re alright.”
Time bites his tongue, more focused on catching you and holding you within his arms once more. “What are you doing here? I thought you said you were going to stay home.”
You huff. “I did. And yet here I am. I promise I wasn’t trying.”
You kiss his cheek and pull back, looking him over and smiling at what you see. “I forgot how you looked in your finery.”
Time shakes his head, a smile blooming on his otherwise serious face. “I promise you, it hasn’t changed. You, however, have.”
You blink and step back entirely, looking down your front and your sides, hoping to see what he sees. “What do you mean?”
“You’re even more beautiful then when I left you.”
You smack his shoulder and push him.
“Jerk. You scared me for a moment.”
Time laughs and pulls you back to him. “I’m not sorry. I see you’ve already met the Veteran.”
“He’s fun.”
“I told you do.” He smirks and turns to the rest of the group. They’ve all stopped what they were doing to see his reactions and interactions with this mystery person. It widens when they all scramble to make it seem as if they were not openly staring. “These are the others boys I mentioned in my letters.”
You perk up and beam, looking around the group. With a wave, you introduce yourself and cling onto Time’s arm. You turn back to him with a smile that spells trouble. “You mentioned a descendent. Which one is he?”
“You have to guess.” Time snorts.
“What?!” You cry. “That’s not fair! I’ve waited this whole time to meet your group and you won’t even tell me this!”
“Nope.”
“You’re the worst.” You pout.
“You love me.”
“I do.”
“Is anyone else confused about what’s happening right now?” Wind raises his hand.
“This is-” Time repeats your name. “And they are the love of my life.”
Warrior
Warrior was busy trying to count the rupees in his pouch so he could plan ahead on their purchases. Granted, he was starting to run low. It left him with two options. Either start selling or start cutting the grass.
Would that even work in this Hyrule? Is that something that he can count on of the time being? Four mentioned small being that live in the grass. Would they mind if he came in and cut it all down?
He sighs and stashes the pouch away. There’s very little he can do about it on his own regardless. It’s easier to pool their money together.
“Tough luck, Captain?” Sky comes up next to him and leans on the railing. “I’ve never seen you so annoyed.”
“It’s hardly anything new.” He tries to wipe the look off of his face. It’s not going to do him any good. He has to make sure the group has its needs met. No reason to worry the troops about their supply line.
“Lady troubles?” Sky ventures.
“Not this time.” He shakes his head. Ok, maybe he can laugh about it. It’s not exactly the picture he wanted to paint himself as but as long as you don’t take any of it to heart, then perhaps he can learn to mitigate it.
If not, he’s in trouble when he gets home.
“Well then maybe I can help with the problem.” Sky offers.
“I appreciate it but I’m afraid that it’ll take more than just the two of us-”
“Link?” A voice calls out.
Both men look up in the direction of the voice without thinking. Warrior freezes. His heart gets lodged in his throat. He recognizes that voice. Is it really-?
“Link?” You call again and he sees you walk out of the crowd around you. “What are you doing here?”
Sky tilts his head, unsure of what to make of this new person until he looks over to Warrior’s bright, start struck eyes. “Ah- you know them.”
“What am I doing here? What are you doing here?” Warrior grins, shouting without meaning to. He runs. You meet him halfway.
The two of your collide with enough force to shock the people around you. The chain comes around the corner, having heard their name called.
Warrior starts peppering your face with kisses. “I can’t believe you’re here. Are you ok? Are you safe? Were you sent by Lana?”
You giggle, trying to pull his hands away from your face so you can properly answer him. “No, no, no, nothing like that. I just walked around and found you here. I thought you’d be home later.”
He stops his barrage. His thumbs come up to rub little circles on your cheeks. “Darling, we’re not home right now. The farthest from it. That’s why I’m asking.”
“Oh.” You blink, finally looking around you. “Well Zelda mentioned that they were trying to rebuild some settlements so I thought I had just wandered into one of them.”
Warrior shakes his head. He might cry at the sight of you.
“Hey, Captain!” Hyrule calls out. “Are you going to keep making goo goo eyes or can we meet them?”
“What?” You try to look around Warrior, focusing on the voice. “Link? Do you know them?”
“More than I’d admit at the moment.” He mutters, turning to wave the group away. It doesn’t work. If anything they’re more intrigued.
You snort and step away from him. “Let me go say hi.”
“No-” Warrior holds your hand. You stop and raise an eyebrow. He’s nervous. “Um...They might say some stuff.... Don’t pay too much attention to it.”
“Like what?”
“Uhhhh....”
“The pretty boy didn’t run away this time!” Legend laughs. “They must be the one!”
“Like that.” Warrior sighs, hanging his head in defeat. You bite your lip and pat his shoulder in consolation. “Are they always like this?”
“Unfortunately...”
“...I think we’ll get along just fine then.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of.”
Wild
Wild was separated from the group again. But not because he saw something shiny and decided to investigate.
He had to look for more food to cook for the group. Since it had more or less become his job to make sure the heroes besides him were fed, he had to make sure he had enough supplies to meet the demand.
It wasn’t looking to good. At least not in this particular area.
The bushes that he was sure to have berries were empty. Either something else came before him and plucked them all off, they were out of season or he was simply incorrect on the type of bushes these were.
That wasn’t going to stop him though.
Actually, there was one thing that interested him as he continued his search for edible food. There was a bit of cloth on the bush. Nothing that seems worthy of noting. It was beige and clearly torn.
Perhaps someone did come to take the berries before he did.
Wild moved on.
On his way to the next bush, he saw a few berries that were ripe for the picking. He didn’t hesitate to grab them. But besides the bush was a strange foot print on the ground. It wasn’t churred up by an animal. that was a human boot. It was slanted and elongated. Like the person slipped. It seemed fresh.
He began to follow that instead of the food trail.
Multiple bushes and branches were torn as he got closer to whatever it was.
He looks up to see that there were multiple claw marks against one of the tree. Those certainly didn’t belong to any human.
He kept walking, albeit with his hand on his bow just in case.
There was a groan. A very human groan.
Wild rushes forward and his brain stops working.
In front of him lays a very familiar human. You were face down on the ground, a large cut to your mid-section with multiple tears to your clothes. You seemed to just be waking up from whatever had knocked you out to begin with. Slowly, you push your arm from under you and lift your face up.
Wild runs to you. “What...what...what....”
Wild swallows hard and move to roll you over. It’s easier to pick you up that way.
“Link?” You lull your head to the side. “...You found me...”
“I did.” Wild breathes out, lifting you. “I did, I did, I did...”
He says it on repeat like a broken record. the food has been forgotten, his main goal is to get you back to camp to tend to your injuries. If he’s lucky, Hyrule would be kind enough to heal you.
“I missed you.” You say as if you hadn’t just been attacked.
“I missed you too.” It breaks Wild out of his repetition.
His return to the camp spokes even the more seasons of heroes. Legend jumps to his feet while Warrior and Sky unhesitatingly begin to get the medical supplies without being asked.
“Wait- who are they?” Wind asks over the commotion. “Do you know them?”
“Yes.” Wild fights over the way his throat wants to close up. He places you down and begins to clean your wounds. Twilight gets a spare change of clothes and hands them over as Warrior hands over the gauze. Wild thanks them both.
“Ok, but who are they?” Four asks kindly.
“My partner.” Wild says. It shuts the group up. They watch as he tends to you.
Hyrule sneaks in the spell from behind Wild’s back to heal you.
They’ll save their questions for when you’re feeling better.

Dangantober Ghost Photo breakdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dangantober Ghost Photos with some little behind the scenes ghost shenanigans
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they may be ghosts for a while....
Full breakdown of each character below ↓ MAJOR DANGAN SPOILERS
The main idea was inspired by Sayaka, the avoidable tragedy of her death, and the vengeance that allowed her to name her killer from 'beyond the grave'
Each ghost is stuck, or trapped in some sort of loop, compelled to act according to certain 'rules', much like how they lived under monokuma within the Killing Game. Each rule has some connection to a ghost's talent, aspect of their life, or death. Reminding them of their regrets in a fashion that wouldn't allow them to pass on.
Sayaka "Don’t swap the dormitory name plates." Her fate in the game was a self-fulfilling prophecy. She was so scared of being trapped in the school, that she trapped herself. It seemed like a perfect stimulus for a ghost, going over the events of her death again and again, but never being able to break out of the cycle. She always leaves behind the message, as she'll never know if Makoto understood her regrets.
Mukuro "Don’t pick a fight in the gym." Mukuro's haunting is based entirely on how her death was a result of picking a fight with monokuma, and how she loses everything. Her lingering grudge creates an animalistic aggressive atmosphere like a Fenrir Wolf, her stoic soldier persona lost as she lashes out at people who remind her of her failure. She hides herself like she did in life, only visible in reflections as Junko's shadow - and will try stab you in the back, playing out her own betrayal.
Leon "Don’t play with baseballs near the hallway" It seemed like the worst fate for Leon would be being stuck, static in his unwanted role as The Ultimate Baseball Star. As with his murder, he couldn't help himself, but resorted back to those skills to dispose of evidence. His animosity making the game almost unplayable for everyone else, he releases all his frustrations toward himself, almost zombie like, at a scapegoat: baseball.
Chihiro "Don’t enter the locker rooms at night" Chihiro's murder and trial was mostly co-opted by red-herrings, like Genocide Jack and the location of the murder. So the idea is that the story got warped by a series of Chinese whispers; Genocide Jack miscast as a 'bloody Mary' style urban legend, Chihiro a forgotten footnote. Based on how Hina thought Alter Ego was actually Chihiro's ghost; I thought the haunting could work more like a séance or a ouija board; asking Chihiro questions beyond the veil much like how AlterEgo helped the class, Chihiro is only trying to help.
Mondo "Don’t eat the butter in the cafeteria" I REACHED for Mondo, I know! but he got turned into BUTTER! I wanted to incorporate his execution with his motive to murder, so his ghost is based on Calabar beans, supposedly able to sort the guilty and the innocent. If you swallow without worry the poison might not spread, but if you eat cautiously and chew; you'll die. He appears slowly, enough that you can ignore him, the same why you might ignore your guilty conscience. He may be a hypocrite, but in a way he's trying to save you from his own fate.
Taka "Don’t pass notes in the classroom" Not unlike Sayaka, it's another case of replaying actions when they were alive, but Taka is still continuing his role as 'Hall Monitor' His prompt is passing notes since that's what lead to his death, originally the note you were passed in class was going to be written by Taka but that felt like it broke his own rules. He disappears if he's ignored, much how he faded after Mondo's death. Ishida is only triggered if you interrupt his routine, disrupt his pace, and create disorder from what he sees as order, holding Mondo's pickaxe almost like a reaper's scythe.
Hifumi "Don’t play hooky in the art rooms" I know Hifumi is the 'Ultimate Fanfic Creator' in the english, but my brain always autocorrects that to 'Doujin Author' instead. And given his focus on fandom culture, I thought his haunting playing out like a video game, something in the zeitgeist like Slenderman the Eight Pages would be appropriate. Originally I had you collecting his artworks, with Hifumi hunting you down, blinded by the blood covering his glasses. He creates his own narrative much like how Celeste convinced him to go through with the murder. He certainly casts himself as a 'protector', expressing glee at being justified in his actions.
Celeste "Don’t default on your debts" As much as you could see Celeste's talent as unwholesome, she took absolute pride in it, and part of that was following through on a bet. Celeste does seem like the type to always find an angle; so she will find a way to exploit those around her into spoiling her, but that's not enough to dispel her stripped aristocracy. She's not in some vast ornate fireplace, she's in an incinerator where you burn rubbish. And the Versailles Witch won't let you get away if you get close enough to see her indignity.
Sakura "Don’t be disrespectful in the dojo" Sakura was very difficult since, like Chihiro, she's got no real impetus to become a vengeful spirit at all. But given her choice to betray the class to protect her dojo, it would be cold comfort being forced to watch over a facsimile of a dojo, at arms length, in a fashion like Tantalus. Her statue is based on Nio, muscular wrestler like figures who stand at the entrance of shrines to protect them from evil. She functions a little like SCP-173, she can only move if she's not watched.
---
Given that the sdr2 kids were all remnants of despair, and all had the potential to be as monstrous as Junko - I tried to link them each to an urban legend or a cryptid or similar, to make them another degree removed from humanity. Additionally, their rules are written to sound more like threats, than the THH kids' warnings, to make the distinction that they were more dangerous, far more active.
Imposter "Never copy someone else’s work" There's a common belief that everyone has a doppelgänger, a normal extension of the concept that there are only so many different faces in the world, so some are bound to be potentially near identical. But it's often seen as a bad omen to see yours - a signifier of your imminent death, or maybe a tragedy. The Imposter craves the sensation being someone else, so they don't have to be left with the void that is their own personality. By reducing you to the imitation they show you a fraction of their own personal despair.
Teruteru "Never take someone’s food without asking" Although it could be argued that all the ghosts are kinds of Poltergeists, but I wanted Teruteru to have less of a physical appearance but to express himself through the items in the kitchen - the thrown knives, the rattling pans, the food, much how he was truly himself whilst cooking, but outside of that he projected a false and vain persona, a persona which has been burned away. There's also a reference to the crimes he's implied to have committed whilst a remnant of despair, namely cannibalism.
Mahiru "Never record over something without checking" A large part of Mahiru's philosophy surrounding photography is in capturing the smiles and happy memories of her subjects. Writing over any of those would be unthinkable to her. She's based on Spirit Photography, ghosts and apparitions appearing in celluloid, with some aspects of the Ring, a ghoul able to cross over and reach you through a medium which something shouldn't be able to. The AV equipment she haunts is supposed to have been left behind by classes 77 and 78, the only other echoes of them that remain at Hope's Peak.
Peko "Never knock on an occupied stall" I know it's unfair! But she spends so much of case 1 in the toilet, and disposes of the evidence in case 2 in a bathroom.... Plus, I based her haunting on Hanako-san, a ghost who haunts a toilet stall, and only appears if someone knocks at her door. Peko cannot act alone - she can only act if she's called upon, if someone asks for her. Her multiple hands juggling the masks of the many identities she wears as she has none of her own. The colourful façade of 'Sparkling Justice' being her most memorable, and overriding her own face. Delicate yakuza tattoos wrap around her fingers, and she's missing her little finger on all but one of her hands - a common yakuza punishment for failure.
Ibuki "Never interrupt someone’s musical performance." If Sayaka is a siren, Ibuki is a Banshee, not only due to her singing voice, but also as she heralds the death of Hiyoko. Ibuki became trapped in someone else's elaborate web which lead to her death, so in her haunt she becomes twisted within the threads of her own vocal chords - as a reference to how she couldn't tell anyone what was wrong due to the despair disease. Her exceptional hearing helping her locate you, like a spider finds flies through the vibrations of the web. I was also inspired by the so-called suicide song, Gloomy Sunday, and getting such a song stuck in your head
Hiyoko "Never taunt someone with hurtful names" I wanted to make the rules more specific than just 'don't be a bully' so I used Hiyoko's vice of name calling as what makes her zone in on you; much how she picks apart insects when we first meet her. She's mistaken for a Zashiki-warashi, a harmless child spirit, a Japanese yokai in ode to her love of traditional Japanese culture. She's actually closer to a Usutsuki-warashi, a bad-omen, spirit of a child culled during famine when there wasn't enough food to go around - much like Hiyoko was culled to remove her as a witness.
Mikan "Never feign being sick" Mikan was partly based on Annabelle, the possessed Raggedy Anne doll, in how her innocent and clumsy nature belied the darkness beneath, but also how she was ultimately still just Junko's puppet on a string. Her only place of control is in the nurse's office where she can inflict her own feelings of helplessness onto her patients. (but there was also definite inspiration from the Silent Hill 2 Nurses, not just in the eerie way they move, but also how they are objectified, much like how Mikan is.)
Nekomaru "Never cheat in a sporting event" St. Elmo's Fire (witches fire not the movie) is an electrical phenom, an omen that precedes a lightning strike. Based on his appearance plus his transformation into the electrical Mechamaru, it also is reference to the electrical pulses that control the beating of the heart. Nekomaru essentially treating a bad-sportsman with the taste of a future where an infirmity forcibly retires them. Originally I had him drag them from underground to slow them to a crawl, but it seemed against Nekomaru's principles.
Gundham "Never harm an animal" Gundham would probably revel in the exaggeration of his myth; it's what he would do when he was alive. He's one of the more cryptid like, more of an animal than a person anymore, his transformation based on a Rat King. This phenomenon is where several rats get their tails tangled together with dirt creating a ring of trapped rats encircling their knotted tails in the centre. I originally thought to recreate it with hamsters, but given his beloved Devas survived him, I thought keeping it being rats was better.
Nagito "Never throw something useful away" Nagito is a difficult one since he would find no compunction continuing his test of hope vs despair, much as his role as servant in UDG. The Honest Axe parable has a woodsman drop his old axe into a lake, a river spirit offering him a gold and silver axe asking if those were the axe he dropped. If he refuses he is rewarded, but if he dishonestly accepts he his punished. If you accept Nagito's offer, you admit that you gave up on the item too soon, as a microcosm of giving up hope, you get a taste of his karmic luck as 'reward'. Nagito probably has a very good idea how to break their bonds as ghosts and allow them to pass on, but he won't give the ultimates the answer so easily.
Chiaki "Never delete someone’s saved game" Some of you were right on the money, Chiaki was based on Ben Drowned, I was originally going to draw her like the 'elegy of emptiness' link statue but it was so goofy, I went more classic .exe/doki doki style. Like many of the more positive characters, she's not really fit to be an evil spirit, and plus she was never actually a remnant of despair. The ominous foreboding feeling she gives you is a heightening of paranoia that would hopefully steer you away from contacting the other ghosts.
Junko Is the culmination of everything, the source of every rule. There's no despair after all if there's no one for her to torment, her vitriol enough to outlast her own death in canon by several games, she's dragged every victim into her purgatory. Like with the killing game, those she's trapped with her have the chance to 'beat her' but the game is rigged in her favour. She may be unable to manifest unless every rule is broken, but she's a master of manipulation. She's been the one to spread the rumours, so that people actively seek out to 'break' her rules, supernatural happenings being encouraging rather than deterring, making more people tempted to see for themselves. The ghosts were given just enough autonomy to believe they have agency, when they're trapped in Junko's loop.
If each ghost moved on, she'd have no one give her an endless stream of despair, no hauntings to spur on the thrill seekers/ghost chasers, no reason for all her rules to be actively broken by one person. She'd be slowly forgotten, slowly dissipate, and essentially disappear.
Originally I had Junko's haunting take place in the principle's office, She would call you over the tannoy, but I chose to make it more ambiguous. The idea was that, were she able to manifest, she was the only truly fatal haunting. Imagine the despair if they found a dead student in the principle's office.
I just wanted to thank everyone again, I had a lot of fun with this! It isn't a strict au, so if you wanted to play around with it, go ahead :) I hardly have a monopoly on ghost aus after all - there are loads of far better thought ones about, so if you liked this I'd recommend checking some out!

Wine Aunt Fright Knight Au
Have me a Fright Knight mistaking bby ghost Jason for the halfa child and kidnapping him, leaving him alone for a moment only to find the bby ghost freed himself in seconds and hid to grab him from behind and backflip him so fast he send him crashing to the window of which the kid stole the black curtain of to hide the makeshift of a mess his robin suit was.
hearing as he gets his bearings “sorry guy i already filled my quota in being kidnapped by tall black and broody shadow cryptids.” and watching the little dude disappear in a dramatic cape (curtain) sweep.
having the child pull up sometimes to the place he kidnapped him to to, in his words, eye some books he saw the first time. threaten to pull out the big guns (his sword) and make the kid live his worst nightmare only to get as a reply how unoriginal he is, like been there done that dude, rip off a new one, scarecrow did it better
literally having a bby ghost dodge every single attempt you make at slashing them with your sword without ever having to rely on his ghost powers, the kid is just like part acrobat and martial artist and escape artist and knows to pinpoint every fear tactic he uses and is just snark personified except when he throws at the older ghost references of books he doesn’t have in his lair to make him have them the next time he comes by
Jason the first time he knocks the bucket head of the Fright Knight: i thought you were the black knight not the headless horse, what the fuck really, did your mom just put all the legends in a blender and called it a day??
just a newborn ghost that apparently doesn’t even know how to ghost (nothing can convince Fright Knight that that isn’t why he doesn’t use his powers) and that he always tell to scurrie off nevermind he reminds him of someone, the kid just got quiet the one time he didn’t answer with a grunt and asked who.
just a lil teenager reminiscent of the fighting, a kid so obviously made out to be a weapon that it slowly tears at the Fright Knight how clear it always was.
just a big scary knight of terror ghost at first frustrating over this menace of a child he doesn’t want to acknowledge he’s getting fond of so he continues to attempt to slash him with his sword knowing the second the kid disappeared he would bring him back, and to who he glowers to when he sits next to him to read a book and talk about it. infinitely confused on why the kid seeks out his presence like there’s something familiar of it. begrudgingly coming to the realization he doesn’t want the kid to hurt. hesitantly making peace that’s it’s just jason projecting a safe figure of his past on him.

Schilling for your thoughts Part 2
König x f!reader
Summary: After meeting König your feelings seem to be all over the place. You miss him. Two new recruits for task force 141 are the last thing you want to think about. Part 1 here. It´s better if you read it. Part 3 here
Word count: 3.895
Warnings: mega fluff, slight sexual thoughts, making out, slight touching, Graves is alive in this one (and an a**), that´s just how I see him
Authors note: Yes, I am one of those who believe that König is a ginger, freckled, mighty sweetheart. (I was trying to find this amazing fanart I saw of him that basically started this fic, but I can´t find it again!! Im sad; It´s so good) Only slightly awkward but he knows how to let someone know he´s interessted. He´ll only unleash the beast on the battlefield, that´s it. I will die on this hill!! Social anxiety, yes. But he´s not completely incapable of interacting with a person<3
Tumblr media
Sweating you woke up for the second time that night. Blinking your eyes open you groaned in frustration and then dissolved into little disbelieving giggles. Throwing your arm over your eyes you could still see his eyes boring into you from above, still felt the tingle of his tongue on your neck, still felt his broad frame completely covering you. How in the world were you able to imagine all that? Make it feel so real without actually having touched the man. König.
“Fuuuuuck” you mumbled while images of your dream invaded your memory. Your whole body tingled and itched. You still had his scent in your nose. Although in your dream it was mixed with sweat and sex. It was just your imagination. You hadn’t seen him since your first encounter at Lucy´s two days ago. Much less had him panting underneath you, grabbing and licking desperately. God, you needed a glass of water. You hopped off your bed knowing you had to leave for work soon anyway and made your way into your bathroom. Work would keep your mind off him, you were sure. At least you hoped it would.
Nothing worse than working in a male dominated field, constantly being surrounded by them and being horny as fuck. If you couldn’t get the edge off somehow, even someone like Philip Graves would become attractive. If even for only one night. You shivered thinking about that. No. No, no way José. That self-centred, entitled prick was a constant pain in your ass. His interactions with you only consisted of two things. Him asking you out in the most sleezy, vomit inducing type of way or him trying to make you responsible for every little mishap the base´s equipment had. He just wouldn’t get the hint.
Sure he wasn’t the most pleasant fellow on base but by far the worst you had to deal with. Other than him the soldiers either left you alone, respected your skill and opinion or were good friends and comrades of yours.
When Captain Price formed task force 141 and made you it´s chief mechanic you first thought he was pulling your leg. Sure, you were brilliant at your job, only a fool would deny that but he and the people he wanted to recruit were literal heroes. Legends even and he wanted you amongst them. Making sure that whenever the massive doors of the hangar opened and they made their way towards the various vehicles and planes, helicopters ect., they would be working with top notch equipment. Functioning vehicles and helis were almost as important as their weapons. You choosing not to be in the field meant, that doing your job was your contribution to keeping your team alive.
At the beginning you didn’t feel like part of said team at all. You made sure everything was on point for them to use but you didn’t throw yourself into dangerous situations like they did.
And then one day over shouting, explosions in the background and shots fired rapidly, you´d guided Ghost over the comms on how to repair an enemies heli for them to escape. The moment the background noises had faded and you knew they were in the air away from most danger, you had almost cried in relief.
Waiting on base for the heli to return you´d paced the floor of the hangar and nervously bit your nails. After what felt like a lifetime, they´d landed and Soap immediately jumped out and ran towards you. Your breath had been knocked clean out of you when he´d crushed you to his chest shouting.
“You are absolutely incredible!! There was no way we would have been able to make that piece of junk fly again without you. You saved our arses out there,___!!!” Relieved laughter had bubbled from your chest when he´d let you go and held your shoulders, looking at you with sparkling eyes.
“Good job” the Captain had said with a short but proud smile when he came to a holt in front of you. He never had to say much to make his feelings known. That `good job´ had told you enough to make your chest swell as you nodded to him. Ghost hadn´t said much. He´d just walked over to you lifting his arm in an angle and happily smirking you had done the same. Your forearms connecting he´d looked down at you nodding his head once, slowly.
That was it. Since then you became best friends with Soap, good friends with Gaz, Captain Price became somewhat of a mentor to you and Ghost…well, he was special. You didn’t talk much but when it was his downtime (which he only took very begrudgingly) he would come find you, sitting or standing next to you and watching you work. Sometimes he would ask you a question and so you figured you´d just do the talking. Whenever he was there with you, you would explain the steps you took to repair or maintain motors, axle´s and technical equipment.
So, when Price had announced two new recruits for the 141 you´d all looked a little surprised. But of course you trusted your Captain with his judgement. Today was the day the new recruits would join your task force and you would make sure to make a good impression. Knowing them or not, they were part of your team now. And you would try and make them part of your circle. You didn’t even know their names yet.
Showering quickly, making coffee and eating a quick breakfast you hurried over to your base. You didn’t live far from it and as you weren’t active in the field there was no reason for you to live in the barracks like Soap or Ghost did as long as they were on duty. Which seemed to be a never ending occurrence.
You jogged over to your hangar like every morning, greeting people left and right until you heard the boisterous bickering of Soap and Gaz. Grinning from ear to ear you walked into the large area full of soldiers, vehicles and helicopters. “Could you two please shut it! It´s my first day back, seriously!” you said loudly but with a huge smile on your face. “There she is!” Soap laughed and scooped you up, swinging you left and right. “Never leave for that long again, hen. Please! Ghost is not a suitable replacement for you.” He sat you down on your feet again. “I was only gone for two weeks, Johnny, don´t be so dramatic” you rolled your eyes playfully. “And don’t make fun of my padawan” you pushed your finger into his chest. He smiled and swung his arm over your shoulders. “Aye, a´right, lass. Promise!”
Gaz smiled at you. “Good to have you back,___. You are right on time, the two new recruits are with Price right now. He will introduce you in a sec.” You raised an eyebrow. “You already met them?” you asked. “Aye, this mornin´. We had an early briefin´.” Soap said. “Hmm, I see. So…are they…?”
“Capable? Yes, absolutely. They come highly recommended” Gaz said matter of factly. You felt a weight drop from your chest. “I see. That´s good.”
In the corner of your eye you saw something that made your head whip around. Price had just entered the hangar with casual steps. He stopped next to a table and turned to the soldier following after him. Your jaw dropped and your whole body jerked a little to the side. Soap gave you a knowing smirk. “I know, right? He´s massive. 6´10 I think.”
Your heart was beating out of your chest and you were desperately trying to convince yourself that it was totally normal to have a vast number of 6´10 men walking around the immediate vicinity of a military base. It was normal, there were a lot of men of that hight walking around. Right? No,___. Fuck no! There aren´t!
You weren’t 100% sure it was him though. How could you be? The mountain standing next to Price was wearing full gear as well as a sniper hood, completely covering his face and neck. You couldn’t see his eyes very well from that distance to make sure. There also was one other thing. This man stood tall, shoulders pulled back, head held high. He wasn’t slouching, so even though you whished nothing more than to see König again, this couldn’t be him. The height? Total coincidence.
Trying to hide your, as you realised, devastating disappointment you got to work immediately. Thinking about the auburn haired man that stirred a longing inside of you, you couldn’t explain. It wasn’t just the dreams you had about him. It was his excitement, his eagerness, his voice, his damn smile. You saw it every time you closed your eyes. Your heart hurt. How could you be lovesick? It didn’t make much sense to you. The only thing you knew was that your heart and body felt like they were on fire constantly since meeting him. Your body pleasantly, your heart filled with something aching. It was a mixture you had never felt before.
Sighing deeply you were currently torso deep leaned into the hood of your latest broken piece of equipment when you heard Price´s commanding voice booming behind you. “___, meet the new team members.” Nervous, you wiped your hands on the rack hanging from your black overalls. When you turned, the world seemed to stop yet again. There was no denying. Not being able to see more than his eyes this close to you, it was enough. You had struggled too much to figure out their colour to not recognise them now even surrounded by the hood and black face paint. His eyes were wide and they looked to your shock absolutely horrified.
While Price was looking a bit taken aback by your quietness he didn’t comment on it. König´s eyes still held your own until he seemed to snap out of something and took a step towards you. “Nein…” he sounded so devastated you didn’t know if you should try to console him or be offended. “Nein, nein, nein, nein, nein, Maus. Was machst du hier?! Wieso…wieso bist du hier?!“ (Mouse, what are you doing here?! Why are you here?!) His hands moved to the top of his head like he was trying to grab his hair but he couldn’t. Instead he got much closer and lay both massive hands on your shoulders leaning down towards you and looking into your eyes. His own swam with what you now saw worry, fear and maybe a bit of relieve.
Price stepped into your field of vision with a raised eyebrow. He looked ready to pounce on König within the second you asked for it. “I´m fine, Captain. I…I´ve met him previously.” He didn’t look very comfortable with this information but slowly walked backwards towards Soap who´s collar was held by Gaz, holding him back from sprinting.
Your attention was pulled back towards König again as he carefully moved one hand and lay it gently on your cheek. “You´re not supposed to be here” he whispered. You knew he didn’t mean it in a condescending way so you tried an encouraging smile. “I didn’t have the chance to tell you what my occupation was” you answered slowly. “I didn’t know you were a soldier either.” He nodded his head a bit.
It suddenly dawned on you what his and your position would mean now and your stomach twisted uncomfortably. You understood his tone of voice now. He sighed deeply. “Ich hab´ so oft an dich gedacht” (I thought about you so often) he said gently. Your heart squeezed in your chest and trying to not choke up you nodded. “Ich auch an dich” (As did I) you answered. Why beat around the bush? He was here and so were you. You had to work with that fact. His eyes narrowed and you knew he was smiling underneath his hood. Slightly touching the hand that was still on your cheek you smiled back. You couldn’t see his cheeks or ears but your best guess was that they were bright pink at this point.
It was a bit difficult to manoeuvre everything since König joined 141. Price had pulled you aside after your first encounter with König at base and asked if this would turn into a problem. You gave him your most honest answer. “No, Sir. Unless you feel it´s a problem that I worry about my teammates out in the field. It will eventually happen with König and Horangi too.” Price huffed a small laugh. “Yea, I know you worry ´bout us. I also know you sometimes stretch your hours to be here when we get back and then pretend like something was broken” his voice sounded mildly stern. You hung your head a little. “I just wanna make sure you´re sure about how much you wanna…pursue whatever this thing with König is. You know the military has some rules about that.” You felt your face burn but nodded quickly. “I´m aware, Sir. I…I´m not even sure what…” He raised his hand. “Don´t need to hear it. I can´t stop you from caring and it´s good that you do. Not gonna lie, feels nice when we get back and you´re there.” You stared at him and your heart swelled for your Captain.
______________________________________________________
Months passed and it was like you expected it to be. König and you had this unspoken agreement to see what this thing between you would turn out to be but it was difficult. You only saw each other on base when you were both fully committed to your jobs. Your job was to make sure all their equipment was on point. You couldn’t let yourself fall much deeper for him and let it become a distraction. And on the other hand you wished for nothing more than be closer to him. Other than some very small touches and hushed conversations you hadn’t had the time to explore further what you felt for each other. Every time they left in the heli or plane he would turn one last time and look back at you giving you a small wave.
The next time they came back, König was the one who´s gear was caked in blood more than the others. He really looked like an absolute beast coming down the ramp. Powerful legs carried him in long strides towards you until he stopped right in front of you. His gaze was cold, his posture challenging. It was like he was trying to intimidate you. And it almost worked. What you couldn’t forget however was his sweet smile, his adorable grin. “Was versuchst du hier, König?” (What are you trying to do here, König?) you asked him calmly and lifted your hand to his smudged cheek.
Immediately his shoulders slumped the way you remembered and his eyes closed. You hadn’t seen his face since that day at Lucy´s. His hood was always on. After months of pining your patience was at an end. You took his hand and pulled him outside the hangar. You could see Gaz and Soap fist-bumping in the background as you pulled König after you into the dark. The dull light of the hangar reached you only slightly when you stopped next to the heli and turned to him. “Ich will dich sehen” (I want to see you) you said while still holding his hand.
His breath stuttered as his other hand moved to his hood, pulling it over his head. Your heart beat against your ribs hastily. There he was. The area around his eyes painted black only accentuated his glowing irises, solely trained on you. With an almost wide open mouth you saw that his hair was not tied back. Or maybe not anymore. It flowed down towards his shoulders, framing his face with strands of liquid copper and brown. His mouth was a straight line, his brows pinched. He looked like he was fighting with himself. “König” you whispered pulling him closer to you. “We both know there´s something there.” He nodded immediately but looked almost ashamed. You continued. “For me, it was there in the bookstore, it was there when you joined 141 and it´s here now you pointed at your heart. He inhaled sharply. “Oh, Maus. Du weißt ja nicht…” (Oh, mouse. You don´t even know…) “I thought my heart would explode in that bookstore.” He came closer to you, gently reaching out and touching your waist.
“When I realised that you´re in the military, in my team…I got so scared. I thought you were active in the field for a second. It terrified me. I thought you´d get to see the side of me that I don’t….can´t show you.” You took the last step and lifted both hands to his chest. His heart was hammering against your palm violently. Moving your hands further upwards you encased his aristocratic face into your hands. “I´m used to seeing blood, König” you said a bit teasingly. He huffed and smiled a little bit. “I…change….out there” he said hesitantly, looking at you with the most vulnerable eyes you had ever seen on a person.
You nodded in understanding. “You don’t have to explain more than that, König. All I know is that you changing out there, brings you back to me time and time again unscathed. That´s all that matters to me.” His eyes were so round and disbelieving. His arms sneaked around your waist pulling you flush to his wide chest. Your own hands wound themselves to the back of his neck pulling him down to you gently.
With somewhat sweaty hands and a body boiling so hot you could feel your own heat emitting from it, you looked into his beautiful eyes until his nose brushed yours gently. Your lips twitching you closed your eyes and waited for him to take the last step. He took his time.
Holding you ever so close he brushed his nose up the bridge of yours until his lips softly brushed your forehead. The air was almost punched from your lungs when you felt their soft texture breathing little pecks over your hairline, down your nose again and finally stopping above your mouth. “Meine kleine Maus. So wunderschön” (My little mouse. So beautiful) he breathed against your quivering lips. He was driving you nuts.
Slowly he began to move one hand up and up over your spine. Goosebumps covered your whole body and your knees became weaker by the second. “König” you almost whined. “Bitte” (Please).
So, finally with a violent shiver of his own and a slight groan, he moved his head and fully took your mouth with his.
It was like something in yourself opened up for the first time. You´ve kissed plenty of people before but none of them felt like he did. None of them tasted like he did. He was holding you gently but firm as he opened his mouth slightly. One of his hands at the back of your neck managed to let you forget everything that was going on around you, in the world.
Quickly you noticed that just standing there, holding onto him and letting your lips do the talking wasn’t enough. You´ve got a taste of him and now, your body craved more than you were sure you could chew at that moment. Open mouthed kisses with König was something out of this world. He may seemed like a bit of a shy person but damn, he was an incredible kisser. When you let out a little whimper you could feel his hands clamp down on you for a second. Encouraged by his reaction and knowing he wanted you just as badly as you wanted him, you gently and carefully touched his tongue with yours. A deep, rattling sound came from his chest as he used his own tongue to explore your mouth.
You couldn’t imagine how you had ever lived without his kisses before. It was like the movements of his tongue and gently fingers breathed live into you all the while robbing you of every ounce of oxygen in your lungs as well as every coherent thought. “Shit” he breathed. “I can´t” *kiss* “fucking stop” *kiss*. “You are so addicting. Thought about you” *Kiss* “every damn day.”
“Don’t let go” you breathed against his lips, desperately clinging to him. “Gott, Maus. Nicht mal wenn ich könnte” (God, mouse. Not even if I could) he growled. Your head was swimming. One more German word out of his mouth and you´d jump his bones then and there. König´s hands framed your face and slowly he retreated his wicked tongue from your mouth. Pecking your lips several more times he was panting by the time you opened your eyes to look at him better. Your hand had wandered from his neck into his hair and you twirled the silky strands affectionately while gazing at his kiss swollen lips. He grinned and all your were able to concentrate on were those damned canines.
Smiling you brushed your nose with his and giggled when he squeezed you hard licking his teeth. Your nether regions tingled so bad at this point, you really had to concentrate. You didn’t want this to be less than a make-out and a quickie. You cared for this giant sweetheart more than what you had thought was possible.
“I´d love to continue this, Maus but…You have to know that…I care a great deal about you. You mean a lot to me. I can´t just…” You touched his face with a light brush of your fingertips and he looked at you almost apologetically. “It´s okey, König. So do I” you smiled wide. The look of content and relieve that befell his face was so pure it almost choked you up.
Still holding you close to him he buried his head into your hair and took a deep breath. He mumbled something you couldn’t understand so you chuckled and leaned back a bit to look at him. He had a sheepish smile on his face. You pulled his head down again and kissed him, fully enjoying the little hiccup escaping him. When you detached from him again he touched your face with gentle fingers, mapping out each curve and edge. Then he sighed deeply and said “I´m really not looking forward to the conversation I´ll need to have with the Captain. He scares me.”
At that you had to laugh a little. “What conversation do you mean?” you asked. Hope and excitement spreading through your veins. “Well” he said, grinning again. “I want to take this wonderful little Maus out on a date and see where it take´s us. She´s pretty neat.” You giggled and felt your cheeks and neck burn. “But I need to talk to the Captain first.” You nodded in understanding.
“I think your Maus will be very happy to say yes to a date” you chuckled in a whisper and got on your tiptoes. He bent his head quickly, wrapping his arms around your waist and lifting you into his arms. This kiss was incredibly sweet though not less passionate as the last one.
As he slowly turned on his axis, never once leaving your lips, your heart sang with possibility and affection towards the man named König.

I don't feel like a lich would be evil. Like, what did they actually do to make them cross a line? The worst possible thing their ritual requires is killing people, and being a wizard means there's almost a 100% chance you know some people who deserve death.
I feel like a lich would feel just like a very old wizard if you met one. He would see a new set of adventures enter his lair, and he'd probably calmly explain to them that he could kill them, but he really wouldn't want to, so it's better if they don't fight. And he'd tell them to rest a little while and zombie servants would fix their clothing and attend to their needs.
He'll ask the adventurers about any technological advancements made in their time, as it's been a few centuries, or any political advancements made. He's happy to learn that mainstream civilization has finally made contact with the continents across the eastern sea, though nobody actually has the heart to tell him what happened in that conflict.
He admires the artistry on the knight's plate armor, far more advanced than that of his age, and finds the thief's flintlock pistol to be of interest, and even the wizard's want is made of material this continent had not known before. Though he shutters to think what weapons would be used for by beings far darker than monsters, and how such material may have been gotten.
He lets the party sleep in his old bedroom, the room he needed when he still needed sleep. There's something strange to them about knowing he used to be a person. Though the lich would be the first to tell you that there's nothing tragic about what happened to him, his kind is alone among undead in that they chose their path with full understanding, knowing what they had to give up to do it. He tells them that he was a different person all those centuries ago, a person who he'd rather not speak of.
Before the adventurers leave, he tells them of an old legend from his childhood, that would have otherwise been lost to them. He tells the bard that he hopes she can sing it for someone else someday. He tells them not to forget that their decedents will remember them as harshly as they remember their ancestors. He gives them magic items, but no weapons, and sends them on their way.

Why Pengolodh of all people is able to stoke such rage within me on his behalf is so bizarre. Like, he's a non-character, a name and some facts Tolkien came up with in his carousel of in-universe authors to keep the layers of narration he loved, but the way he is maligned in this fandom is tragic.
I've touched on before that treating the Silmarillion as if it were written and relayed by a single author is entirely incorrect so I won't go into that here, and honestly I'm sure I've said this all before BUT
The idea that Penny is for some reason *least* suited to write most of the events of the Silmarillion is PATENTLY ridiculous, and I would challenge anyone who says that to a duel, either intellectual or physical (even in my current weakened state... Tulkas is on my side I cannot fail). First of all, the one place where nobody else knows anything about what happened is GONDOLIN, so I think if anyone is going to be writing about most of the events of the Silm, they either need to be from Gondolin or need to live in Sirion with survivors.
OH WHAT'S THAT.... SIRION?!?
Yeah, Sirion! The place where not only are there survivors of Gondolin, but there are survivors of Doriath and Nargothrond AND any remnants of the Beorians, Hadorian, and Haladin. Like, I can think of no other place where the Mannish legends would be able to be recounted, and put on the same level, as the Elvish ones.
"But the Feanorians," you squall. "He's so *unfair* to them, and how could he know ANYTHING about them? That's why we know sooo little about the Feanorians and why they are soooo unjustly maligned."
Ok, first of all, ya basic. Second of all, HE HAS ACCESS TO FEANORIAN SOURCES TOO.
There is Celebrimbor, and all the other former followers of Curufin and Celegorm that could of course tell Penny what was up in Himlad and afterwards while he was in Gondolin. Also, there were probably Feanorians who lived after turning on Maedhros and Maglor during the sack of the Havens who could fill in what happened after The Luthien Incident. So, actually, Pengolodh had multiple sources to literally all of the essential events of the Silmarillion.
OH YEAH THE SACK OF THE HAVENS. Despite living through what is described as the worst atrocity of elf v elf, despite having people we KNOW were friends with him KILLED during that fight, despite having his home destroyed by fellow Noldor, he *really* gives Maglor and Maedhros every excuse. "they felt bad, they're so tired, love grew between them and their victims" etc etc. The Silm is sympathetic to the Feanorians and you can't convince me otherwise (you're not some crazy rebel because you like them!) (They are also Doomed by the narrative, but attributing that to an in-universe author requires getting into the territory of events that occurred not actually occurring and... what's the point if you're going to say that the things that the book is about didn't happen? why are you even here?)
I see people say that the bias is against the 3 Cs, Caranthir especially, which is an ABSURD statement to make in conjunction with the 'Pengolodh, sole conveyer of the Silm' theory. Like, Pengolodh most likely never met any of the 3 Cs or if he did he was very young -- why would he dislike them more than the brothers that massacred his friends? I think the theory here is that he's just such a huge Turgon fan and just absorbed Turgon's opinions on the 3 Cs, which is just conjecture on top of conjecture with no solid footing.
I think there is more credence to him being biased against Maeglin on account of the Fall of Gondolin. But, I ask you, is it really *bias* when the guy is partially responsible for the sack of the city you spent most of your life in and likely the deaths of most of your friends and relatives? And Maeglin too in the published Silm is not without his good qualities! If you hate someone, it can be very hard to admit they're handsome and smart, but Penny does not have that issue.
Anyway, justice for Pengolodh. You didn't write the whole thing, Penny, but what you did write was I'm sure fucking fantastic.

DP x DCMK (x DC)
Where Danny and Shinichi meet at the Hawaii where's a Ghost Convention (pre-portal and Conan, when they're both around 11–12 years old) since both sets of parents are invested in the topic. (The Fentons because they're the Fentons and Yusaku because he's researching for one of his books).
They become friends and keep contacts through messages, sharing school shenanigans, crushes, cases and family mishaps.
The One Thing that Danny doesn't share, though, is his halfa status.
First, because Shinichi doesn't believe in the supernatural (according to him, magic is just unexplained science) and second, because his change is far from any kind of "normalcy" and Shinichi had categorically stated that he doesn't want anything to do with superheroes, he's just a "normal" detective and they (the Justice League) save the world.
Though, it's not unusual that, if something weird happens in a case, Shinichi asks Danny's opinion and intel since the Fenton's library has "weird"/obscure material. (If the answer gets him too close to superhero-stuff, Shinichi passes the ball to the JL, more specifically to Red Robin, but that's something for a following reblog of this thread.)
So when Shinichi becomes Conan and settles in Ran's home, he contacts our favorite boi.
(A bit late to the @crossoverdanuary party... (^~^;)ゞ Anyway, long post in chat-style, plus an extra, so I decided to use the read more function because it was getting out of hand... (≧▽≦) )
Shinichi: Hey Danny, do you know anything that should be killing you, but instead it shrinks you? Danny: Shrink as in size or age? S: Age D: Hold on, gotta check some books to be sure, but usually anything age-related is dark shit. What's for? Fun or case? S: ...It's for a case D: Well, that didn't sound ominous at all, then gotta go *faster* *few minutes later* D: Okay, the closest thing (still in the Mortal Realm) to what you asked is this jewel most commonly known as "Pandora" (if she knew, she would definitely lose her shit) D: it's a gem hidden inside another gem that glows red under the moonlight D: "if bathed in the light of the Volley Comet, it would shed tears capable of granting eternal life" S: This doesn't sound anything like what I asked you (눈‸눈) D: Cut the sass beanpole and let me continue D: since the legend exist and it's documented, it should be reasonable to presume that someone managed to attain it, right? S: ...right *squinty eyes* D: So if some scientist tried to reproduce the same results in the *scientific way* instead of the magical one, they could have either the original "Tears" or the one who consumed them and run test and experiment on them D: whatever the case, there would be either some inferior or failed products that instead of making you immortal, *de-ages* you, which is the next best thing (i.e. you would live longer) D: but since they were "failures" compared to the immortality elixir, they could definitely become poisons. D: So! Since you were so ominous, was it really for a case or did our dear Professor Agasa dabble in alchemy? 👀 (read) D: Beanpole, I know you read my explanation and since this is really dark shit you *have* to at least give me context D: because among the warnings that the grimoire gave me, there's the thing that you become somewhat cursed S: ...Or you're cursed or you're not, there's no "somewhat" D: He speaks! 🙌 D: Give me *the deets* *long pause* D: *Shinichi Kudo* ಠ_ಠ S: Okay, fine! I can feel your disappointed stare all the way to Japan, stop! >Д< D: Then explain S: Okay S: so you know how I can't leave things alone when they have suspicious all printed on them? D: Your worst defect, yes, but continue D: ...wait D: Shinichi no D: HOW OLD ARE YOU NOW?? S: Still 17, thank you very much D: I mean physically, you little shit, don't dodge the question! S: ... S: ...we think 7 D: What in the Infinite Realms everloving fuck, Shinichi D: Okay, you know what? D: I'm coming to Japan and you can't stop me, you *midget*, I know what you're already going to say D: it's dangerous, yada yada D: nothing I've already seen and fought S: What do you mean?! D: Since you're *such a good detective*, deduce it yourself D: give me your coordinates in the meantime and don't you dare move from that spot S: If you send me Superman or anyone of his creek, I swear to Kami, Danny D: Please, Superman could only desire to be anything like me, now *coordinates* ಠ_ಠ *coordinates sent* D: good boy D: now get ready in 3 S: 3 what? D: 2 D: 1
🕵️👻
A full body shiver run over Shinichi as soon as the "1" appeared on the screen, so he looked up from his phone, searching for where the cold draft could have come from. However, the agency toilet window was closed and the closed door had a good insulation, last time he had checked.
So what...!
"Boo."
Shinichi shrieked with all the high pitch of an elementary schooler, as he whirled around to look at what, or better, who had whispered by his ear.
A white-haired green-eyed floating teenager with a black hazmat suit with white accents grinned almost maniacally at him, showing their fangs predatorily.
Anatomically they looked male and despite the unhinged expression, the body language didn't project "danger". If anything, it was loose and casual as if he (until otherwise stated) belonged here.
The unearthly glow suggested either some substance coating him that gave him that illusion, or there was magic afoot.
Irritation surged inside Shinichi: Danny knew his rules! No direct superhero meeting, only exchange of intel!
"Who are you and why did Fenton send you?" Shinichi gritted, crossing his arms to appear less like a 7 years old.
"You disappoint me, little detective, I thought you would have figured it out at first glance!" The supposed hero pouted, crossing legs and arms midair and staring back at Shinichi. "I guess that your fame had been an exaggeration, after all. Some East Highschool Detective you are!"
The teasing little smirk incensed Shinichi more than alarming him (the other knew his secret!), but the last thought made him pause.
Danny wouldn't betray him like this by informing whatever "superhero" of this situation just to help him without his consent. Their boundaries had been awesome like that and had been respected so far, despite the many trials both had faced.
So who was this person really?
Shinichi's mind focused back into deducing the teen before him, and the more looked, the more disbelief made way in his heart. (...He had said he would be coming to Japan, but not in that instant!)
"No way, Danny?"
"Fucking finally, midget! What took you so long?" Danny huffed, untangling then touching down on his feet and looking him over. "It even gave me time to take a look at your situation!"
"Hey! Your voice is different, so I could deduce it only because "if you exclude the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the Truth"! Since you would never spill my secrets to anyone, this must have been you!" Shinichi gestured to his friend, who flushed green when he registered the meaning of the words.
"Wow," he breathed, sounding pleased, as he scratched his nape, "you would believe that a ghost of me is still me instead of me betraying you, wow!"
"Wait, ghost? I thought you just become a superhero, not that you died!" Despite his insistence on not believing the supernatural, Shinichi had read the Fentons' papers on ghosts (the most recent ones, AKA the "no more biased version" as Danny had called them). And, while he hadn't told his friend this, the scientific breakdown of what makes a ghost what they are, had made Shinichi believe in the existence of ectoplasmic beings.
But to discover that one of his best friends had died, he hadn't known or could have done anything, plus Danny hadn't felt safe enough to tell him until it had become unavoidable, made Shinichi clutch his heart in agony and despair.
Probably sensing the shift and interpreting the action for what that was, Danny's face shifted into regret, as he knelt down before the shrunk detective and a ring of light lit up at his waist, washing over him and leaving a hoodie-and-jeans-clad raven-haired and blue-eyed teenager.
Slowly, as if not to spook a frozen Shinichi, Danny laid a hand on his shoulder, while the other took the free little hand to his NASA hoodies chest and splayed it there, allowing him to feel his heartbeat. As if he had known that only words wouldn't have been enough to convince the detective.
Slowly but surely, feeling Danny's sluggish but steady heartbeat, made Shinichi unclench, then lean against his friend's chest, head tucked under his chin.
Carefully, Danny wrapped his friend in a hug, knowing well that, while physical affection was welcome from him, Japanese social conventions and the Kudo's upbringing had left Shinichi a little adverse to prolonged contact.
As the apparent 7-years-old melted into the embrace and clutched Danny as well, followed by a suspicious wet sensation on his chest, the halfa realized that this was bad.
Shinichi had never sought comfort like that, according to professor Agasa (who Danny did keep in contact with, since he was more a parent than the Kudos), so to do this now...
"It's okay, Shinichi, I'll explain better what happened to me, but it's not your fault." Shinichi shuddered at these words and buried deeper in the embrace, making guilt shoot through Danny. He had caused this breakdown. The least he could do was to help him through it and some.
"And we're gonna find a way to solve what happened to you, I promise."

I don't wanna be your friend I wanna kiss your lips - Hercule Poirot
Tumblr media
Warnings: maybe possible spoilers for A Haunting in Venice. Also, my mother tongue isn't English so there'll be some errors probably.
Words: 539
Requested: no
Reader is frustrated for how long she wants to kiss Poirot.
Here's part two.
When Ariadne Oliver asked Hercule Poirot for help, he asked you to come along. He didn't believe in ghosts, but you seemed amazed by the idea and just seeing you smile made the man's heart warm.
The night that was supposed to be fun soon took the opposite direction. The medium, Mrs Reynolds, was dead. Poirot locked all the exits and the rain outside beat hard against the windows.
Your arms had goose bumps, even with your long-sleeved dress, the wind was still chilling.
"How are you my dear?" Poirot asked, gently touching your shoulder.
"Im great..." your face heated up, cheeks were pink. It was always like this when you were together. Just one touch or look from him and your face would heat up. For years you had dreamed of feeling his lips on yours, that intimate touch that only his ex had the pleasure of feeling. The sensation was not new, but once again it was ignored due to your shyness and lack of courage and obviously, because of the crime that had occurred.
The legend was that the ghosts of the children at the orphanage killed them in revenge for what had happened to them, but of course Poirot did not believe this. Not that you believed in ghosts, but everything seemed to fit the legend so well.
*
The detective was doing his individual interviews with everyone present. You wanted to know how he was after they tried to drown him in the bowl of apples. You were really worried about him.
"Y/N" Ariadne caught your attention.
You were in the room where they tried to drown Poirot, you were distracted, staring at the apples floating in the water.
"Yes?" Your gaze returned to the writer's face.
"Have you guys ever...?" She moved her hands in front of her body, not really knowing if she was crossing some barrier she shouldn't have, but she didn't really care about it at the moment.
"Evrr... what?" Your expression was confused.
"Well, you two are very close, I was wondering if you've ever, you know, kissed." Ariadne felt like a little girl at school talking about these things.
"..." your face became even redder. "N-no, it's so hard with the whole Katherine thing. And sometimes I just want to…" a little cry of frustration left your throat before you could stop it.
Apparently your scream was louder than expected, because in a matter of seconds Poirot and everyone else in the house burst through the door, scaring you and Ariadne.
"Are you okay?" The detective's hands cupped your face, his face was steeped in worry.
"I am, it was just..." you swallowed, asking Ariadne for help with a look.
"We swore we saw a ghost!" This was the worst excuse for that moment, you didn't want to look foolish in his presence.
He giggled. GIGGLED! and held your shoulders affectionately.
"It's okay. Come on, maybe if you help me you won't be so scared."
Little did he know that he was torturing you more than helping. Well, maybe one day your courage would arise and you would finally kiss him and tell him how much you loved him. Until then, helping him would be enough for you.
