SUMMARY: on the fourth year anniversary of your moms death you remember all the good moments ( and some of the bad ) you had with her.

At five years old, your mom told you about the story of vampire, witches and werewolves. It was kid proofed and she would go into more detail when you were older but you had to know this stuff because your parents were hybrids and your aunts and uncles were the original family.

You watched her explain it to you and your twin sister hope in her gentle and kind voice. You couldn’t help but feel anxious as she explained that werewolves were real. Like in little red riding-hood. But your mom wasn’t scared, she was brave. And you wanted to be like her. Because she was the best person you knew.

You and Hope had been attending the salvatore boarding school since you were seven. And you guys never really clicked with anyone. It’s not like you didn’t try — it’s just that being the tribrid freaks didn’t exactly help out.

Now in your teen years, thirteen to be exact, the girls attending the school were mean. especially the headmasters daughters, lizzie and josie.

“No wonder your daddy didn’t stick around, he couldn’t resist his murder urges long enough to be a father” Some kid in class, you think her name is alyssa, yelled out pointing to the title of the book on everyone’s desk klaus mikaelson the great evil

feeling tears weld up in your eyes you stood up, lizzie saltzman watched hesitantly before speaking out her own hurtful words “Yeah i mean, who would want hope and y/n as their kids anyways?”

It stung, it really did. You didn’t know why Lizzie and Josie suddenly started jumping at yours and your sisters throats. It started happening after some fire in hopes room. But it hurt, You used to really like the blonde. Imagining what it would be like if you and hope took up the offer to be friends with her when you first arrived.

You ran out of the classroom and into your dorm. Putting up a barrier spell and crying on your floor. After two hours of refusing to leave your room — even when headmistress caroline forbes knocked and asked you if you wanted to talk about it. You heard a familiar knock and the kind voice of your mother call out “Sweetie, Do you mind coming out?” headmistress forbes must have called her.

You wiped your tears and opened the door “Mommy” You cried and gave her a hug. She rubbed your back for ten minutes until you calmed down. Then told you to follow her.

You spent the day at mystic grill for lunch, and then shopping, then some icecream and to finish the day off — you went on a walk around mystic falls.

When your mom gave you the tightest hug ever and told you to call her if you needed anything — no matter how small, you couldn’t even remember who alyssa chang and lizzie saltzman were.

You had the best day with your mom today.

At fifteen years old, You watched with power-disabling chains on your wrist as someone you knew as your uncle elijah stabbed your father “Elijah” Your mom whispered out. But he didn’t help her. He walked over to you and grabbed you as he saw you run towards your mom. She closed her eyes for a second before looking between you and hope. Mouthing ‘I love you’ before pulling greta’s hand out of her chest — snapping off gretas daylight ring finger and using her vampire speed to speed out the door. You watched as your mom light up in flames as your dad screamed and your uncle elijah, the man she loved released you. You fell to your knees and ran over to your moms burning body screaming something along the lines of mom! don’t leave me, i still need you . Your dad grabbed you before you could touch her burning body.

That was the worst day of your life

Now, At nineteen after defeating a god with the help of people you thought you never be friends with. Holding the hand of the person you thought would never such as breathe near you willingly — You stand infront of the tree that had carved in hayley marshall

“I’ll miss you forever mom” You whisper, tracing the writing with your fingers before wiping the tear that fell. You felt a hand on your back and looked up to face your girlfriend, lizzie saltzman.

She pulled you in for a hug as you sobbed into her shoulder. You would miss your mom forever, Just as your sister hope will. But your mom loved you, you know that. So that’s why you chose to celebrate her life.

“I love you mom” You whisper quietly.

Summary: You turned your humanity off, just like Hope and Lizzie try’s to help.

You had no desire to still be on the earth anymore. You turned it off after you tried to hurt yourself but it just healed. You couldn’t die. The closest thing a vampire could do was turn it off so you couldn’t feel anything. That’s what you did.

Your girlfriend lizzie couldn’t possibly stand to see you like this. Most times she didn’t come home. You obviously didn’t care but if you had humanity it would hurt you. She also never came home because your were always feeding anyways. Sometimes she came home, today was one of those days.

You were eating some random boy you found on the street. You didn’t feed on women. You gasped and looked up to Lizzie walking through the door.

She sighed in sadness you could almost feel it. Almost.

“Hey sweetie.” She came over to me.

“Oh hey Liz, didn’t think you’d be coming home.” You said, voice getting quieter more you say it. You drop the head of the boy your were feeding on, wiping the blood off the corner of your mouth.

“Yeah well thought I’d pay you a visit.” She smiled

“Well I’m fine, thanks for the concern though.” You pretended to care.

Lizzie grabbed your hand. “ y/n listen to me. I love you so much and I can’t watch you continue to do this to yourself. Okay, I’m trying to help you. If you turn it back it on I can help you. I can I swear just - just please turn it back on.”

“I’m not going back to that pathetic little petty y/n.”

She was honestly kinda hurt no humanity you thought that way if yourself. Because when you had no humanity you couldn’t really lie, cause you didn’t care.

“Care to join me?” You pulled another dead boy out of the closet biting his neck. He wore a green shirt and black jeans with a sea shell necklace. He also had a few rings on.

It hit Lizzie In that moment she saw the ring. She sprinted into your guys shared room, pulling our drawer, after drawers of jewelry. Until she found it, the silver ring with a green diamond on top.

She went back into the room where you were. You already dropped the body and wiped the blood off in confusion of her rushing so quickly to get something. You were honestly surprised she was staying so long.

She held the ring up. Your face went into shock knowing exactly what it was.

“3 years ago, 3 years ago you and your mother were in a car wreck going of the rail into the ocean. She died so did you. But since you had blood in your system you were okay. The doctors said they couldn’t find your mothers body. But they did find the car, they didn’t find any drugs or alcohol to prove your mother was on anything. But they found this, this ring you and your mothers matching rings. Yours was blue, it was lost, hers was green and here it is.” She held up the ring.

You dropped the body and walked over to her.

“Where did you- how did you- what?” Tears slowly filled your eyes.

“I never told you that story, I never told you anything about that.” You said

“Well, I have people I know, someone named Hope.” She laughed through her tears.

“I’m sorry.” You said

She pulled you in a hug “I know, I know.”

• Forehead kisses are a big yes doesn’t matter if it’s giving or receiving.

• She loves doing spells with you!

• She always turns to you if in need of siphoning wither it being holding your hand, waist, or giving a you a kiss.

• If you are mad at her, she will try everything to make it up to you - even going to what she calls ‘extreme lengths’ to get you your favourite ice cream. “I know you’re mad.. but I went to very extreme lengths to get you f/ic/f, so if that doesn’t bring you out of your ‘mood’ I don’t know what will.” You frown. “Extreme lengths?” She crosses her arms nodding. “I had to walk through that disgusting shopping centre for ICE-CREAM.”

• Now, if she’s mad at you, you will probably face the cold shoulder for a bit, only receiving glares from her and sympathetic looks from Josie. While you are trying to talk things out with your girlfriend, You both find yourselves in confrontation with a monster. You saw it ready to attack Lizzie and instantly flung yourself in-front of her shielding her from the monster resulting in you getting injured. “Are you stupid? You could’ve gotten yourself killed!” She shouts absolutely mortified. “Better me than you.” You muttered, holding your head. She sighed, pulling you into a bone crushing hug. “Don’t scare me like that again.”

• From that moment, she knew you’d risk your life for her at the drop of a hat.

A/N- I wasn’t sure how to go at writing this, especially with such a tough topic such as mental illness. So I decided to write slightly based on my own struggles with mental illness and the struggle of not knowing why this has happened to you and if people would turn their backs on me if they found out about my illness.

I just want to say that mental illness is not something someone should be ashamed of and if you ever need to talk my messages are always open!

“Are you ok?” Lizzie asked as she sat across from me, her hand rubbing comforting circles on my shoulder.

“I’m not sure. You would think having to deal with being a heretic would be enough, now I’ve got to deal with this?” I say as I lean down and place my head in my hands.

“Well… technically you’ve always dealt with it, now we know for sure why you were feeling this way.” Lizzie spoke as I rolled my eyes.

“You’re not wrong I guess, it’s just that,” I stop, “what did I do to deserve this, this illness. What if people find out and think I’m crazy, or are scared of me? I may be Kol Mikaelson’s daughter but I don’t want to be feared for being me.” I turn to look at Lizzie but my vision starts to blur with incoming tears.

I quickly wipe my eyes as Lizzie grabs my hand in hers.

“You didn’t do anything to deserve this Y/N. No one ever hopes for a mental illness, but it’s out of our power, even all powerful beings like yourself Mikaelson,” She nudges my shoulder jokingly, “Are you afraid of me?” I feel my face contort into confusion. Why would she ask me that?

“Of course not, why would you ask that?”

“Well you said you don’t want people to fear you because of your disorder, and I have the same one. So if you don’t fear me then why fear yourself?”

I sat in silence for a moment, “What if I’m not strong enough to handle it? What if my parents think I’m a freak?” Lizzie stared at me before dropping my hand and grabbing my face with both of hers.

“You are Y/N Claire Mikaelson, you are a badass Mikaelson heretic, with the most powerful family behind you, you are one of the leaders of the Super Squad and Lizzie Saltzman’s girlfriend. If anyone is strong enough, it’s you. I believe in you and your parents sure as hell will too. They love you almost as much as I do. How could they not?” I feel a smile grace my lips as I feel a weight make its way off my chest.

“Will you come with me to tell my mom and dad?” I ask taking both of her hand’s in mine. She smiles back at me and pecks my lips.

“If that’ll make you comfortable, then yes.”

She stands up bringing me with her.

“Thank you Lizzie.”

"Oops," Lizzie shrieks, moving her arms to her sides after having them raised.

"What does 'oops' mean?" You sit completely still feeling something off. "Please don't tell me you just hit me with whatever spell you were doing" you glare at her.

"Well, okay, I might have, but it's not as bad as it could've been" Lizzie looks at you worried about your reaction.

"What did you do?" You grit out, trying not to let your anger overtake you.

"Okay, I was doing a spell to turn the vase into a cat because kitties are adorable and cute, but then I got distracted by how cute it will be and... accidentally hit you with it" Lizzie slowly backs away a couple paces, seeing the look on your face, not wanting to feel your vampire wrath.

"You hit me with a cat transformation spell?!" You stand up, outraged. "Not a full one" she defended.

"Well then what did it do?" Your eyes turn dark in fury. "You may have um ears and a... tail" she winces, waiting for you to smack her.

Instead you just walked past to the mirror. You stand in front of it, not moving, shocked.

"I'm so, so, so sorry!" Lizzie apologizes. "I need to go" You start walking away, face still basically frozen.

"Go where?"

"Hide" you answer, disappearing from the doorway of Lizzie and Josie's room.

You get to your and Hope's room as fast as you can. You let out a sigh of relief when you see that your girlfriend's not in there.

You flop down onto your bed, groaning. That's the last time you're ever going to be in the same room as Lizzie when she's doing a spell. Never again.

Reaching out a hand, you search around for your folded throw blanket. Once you have it in your grasp, you drape it over your whole frame. Lastly, you duck your head underneath it.

Hope walks into the room, shutting the door behind herself. After she puts her books down on the desk, she turns around. She raises her eyebrow at the lump under the blanket on your bed.

"What do we have here?" Hope sits next to you.

"Lizzie sucks" You grumble out. "What did she do now?" Hope has a smile perking up.

You just shake your head. Hope slightly makes it out, before pulling the blanket off of you slowly.

Her eyes widen slightly at what she sees. "Hey!" you exclaim, looking up at her. You immediately cover your head, hiding the stupid cat ears.

"Oh, baby, there's nothing to worry about," Hope tells you, gently lowering your arms away from your head. She takes your hands in hers. "I'm sure there's an easy fix to this, okay?" She kisses your forehead.

"Okay," You mumble.

"She tried to turn a glass into a cat?" Hope chuckles. "I've told you before and I'll tell you again, she doesn't freaking think most of the time" You fall back onto the bed, head smushed into your pillow.

you and lizzie had been close since... practically the dawn of time

and you truly confided in her about everything in your life, and she had been your number one fan

(god i love her sm)

but when you started having feelings for hope, you decided to hide it from lizzie

for one thing, you weren't sure if hope felt the same way about you

and you knew that hope and lizzie's friendship was complicated

the last thing you wanted was for your friendship with lizzie to get awkward

but when you and hope actually started dating, you knew you had to tell lizzie

so you two would be hanging out as usual, probably at the mystic grill eating lunch and chatting

and you would tell lizzie that you've been seeing someone

and she would get SO excited and start asking a million questions

and eventually you'd just spit out that it was hope you were seeing

her first reaction would just be "why" 😭

but when you started telling lizzie about how well hope treats you, and how much you really like her

she softened up right away and was like "i hope you know i will be joining you on your dates from now on"

and sometimes she did, but only during the times you and hope were just hanging out

not like if you were on an *actual* date

if you and hope showed any kind of physical affection lizzie would be like "you guys are gay"

hope and lizzie started to grow closer and formed a close bond

which you loved watching, especially after how complex things were in the past between them

the three of you would have sleepovers and watch movies all the time

bc y'all would argue about it for hours

you and hope would cuddle and lizzie would be like "scoot over"

when you went out hope would hold your hand and lizzie would happily walk alongside the two of you

she grows to love your relationship so much and she is happy to third wheel sometimes

even though she playfully rolls her eyes at you guys

lizzie would definitely play personal photographer for you and hope

she would walk behind you and take pics of you guys just doing couple things 😭

if you and hope ever fought (which is rare)

lizzie would be the mediator and force y'all to make up QUICKLY

and hope would ask lizzie for gift and date ideas for you, because she has known you so long and knows exactly what you would love
