Life is a winnable game because in life we either WIN or LEARN . In fact it is a fact that the most successful people in life and that currently counts for only 3% of people in the world make loads of mistakes because “Every Master Was Once A Disaster”. Making mistakes is part of the learning process because when we learn we grow ans when we grow we change , we change because we get uncomfortable, we get uncomfortable with FEAR and in doing so we face everything and rise F.E.A.R (FEAR). Suffering defeat should serve as a lesson to keep going, to keep momentum up and learn from the mistakes , grow and move towards what it is we are here to accomplish in this life , and not Forget Everything And Run (FEAR) . Marva Collins, who was born in Monroeville, Alabama (known for being the hometown of Harper Lee and Truman Capote, as well as the inspiration for the town of Maycomb in “To Kill a Mockingbird”) is best known for creating Westside Preparatory School, a private elementary school in the impoverished Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois which operated from 1975 to 2008. Collins went to elementary school in a one room school, an experience that would influence her concept of education later. She was no doubt also influenced by her fourteen years as a substitute teacher in inner city Chicago schools. She was dismayed at the low levels of learning students experienced, too often written off by teachers and administrators as unable to learn rather than having their particular issues addressed in order for them to succeed. Collins invested her own pension into starting Westside Prep, a low cost private school specifically aimed at educating low income students that the Chicago school system had labeled as learning disabled. She would later be approached by both Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush to served as Secretary of Education, which she declined both times in favor of teaching one student at a time.
