Making a Movie from a Book by Frank Godwin, 1926.
Kind of sort of still like that that.
He just left out the bit about the author getting almost no money from the film.

TO ALL THE WRITERS, PRODUCERS AND THE ENTIRE CREW OF A GIVEN FILM OR TELEVISION PROJECT! MAJOR TELEVISION PROJECT!
When you're smoothing out story and characters, creating love and friendship relationships, FOR GOD'S SAKE PLEASE CONSIDER THE VIEWERS' OPINIONS! We live in the 21st century, in the age of social media, wherever you go and search for your show there will be opinions on some part of it.
You are doing this not only to make money, but also to fill our lives in some way, so it is right that you also think about our opinion, ask us as an audience, and not make up your own mind after 8 whole seasons of development to hold it and even present it to us as an official part (yes, I mean a specific show).
Just do yourself a favor.

An excerpt from Chapter 8:
They chose a booth in the corner, and sat down in the middle of it, next to each other. Remus slid his arm around Sirius’s waist and rested his chin on his shoulder. Sirius took the opportunity to kiss along his jawline, into his neck, underneath the collar of his shirt. Remus closed his eyes. It was easy to imagine they were the only ones in the world, in the dark club, in this secluded place. He was in such a different place than the last time he came to hear Mary sing that he didn't even feel like the same person. That Remus had been lonely, frustrated, and recently rejected. This version was the exact opposite. This version had just signed a life changing contract to produce a movie out of his screenplay. This version was sitting with a man he was rapidly falling in love with, making out with him like they were teenagers. Sirius slid his hand under the hem of his shirt and rubbed lightly at his skin, before resting his hand on his waistband, bringing his thoughts back to the here and now. They were never going to make it through the show at this rate, but Remus wanted to tell Mary the good news in person before they went somewhere more private.
"Don't you two look cozy." Mary said, a huge grin on her face. Remus hadn't even seen her approach. Sirius looked up from Remus's neck unabashedly and returned her grin.
"You sound great, Mare." Remus said.
"Like you're even paying attention." Mary said, with a laugh.
"We had some good news, we wanted to tell you in person." Sirius said, straightening up and leaning across the table.
"Oh it's 'we' now, is it?"
"Well, we are making the movie together…" Remus said, glancing at Sirius. "Among other things."
“Congratulations! I’m so excited.” Mary said, hugging them both at the same time.

downsizing seasons from 22 episodes to 13 to 8. describing miniseries as "8 hour movies". loudly declaring that shows with 20+ episodes per season cannot truly be good. complaining that "it couldve been a movie". complaining about filler episodes. complaining about bottle episodes. complaining about episodes that prioritize character over plot. fr i think y'all just dont like television
