Hobbies/Pastimes: Swimming (she is the ace of her college swimming club, she has been practicing it since she was 5/6 years old and has won several tournaments). Talents/Skills/Powers: Her diplomatic skills are not to be understimated. She boasts a considerable power of speech, which manifests itself by her being able to to negotiate with, and ultimately convince the most reluctant with so much skill that they don't feel that their hand is being forced. She is also a good instructor and relishes explaining things to people, making them understand concepts that were unfamiliar to them. Fortunately, Yun Hee doesn't abuse her charm and almost always uses it wisely, in constrast with a certain person named Yomi.

Her natural understanding of human psychology enables her to see both sides of an argument, which makes her an excellent mediator able to find common ground between both parties during heated debates and de-escalate tense situations. She positively influences people and brings out the best in them.

Surely the other most outstanding quality of Yun Hee is her disarming empathy and kindness. She's used to people coming to her for comfort and confiding in her. In fact, she's widely recognized as an emotional sanctuary, a great listener, the shoulder you're always welcome to cry on, and she doesn't mind in the slightest, on the contrary, she delights in this role. She just cares about people in such a way that make them feel unconditionally loved, accepted and validated.

Despite her apparent naivety, she is a good judge of character and it's hardly difficult to her to see past the facades that others project and assess their true motives. Regarding her physical abilities, Yun Hee can swim as fantastically as a dolphin, and make it seem like it's as easy as pie. Her parents took her to the pool from an early age as they considered it important for her to learn to swim just in case, especially since they have always loved traveling the world. They figured out that most drownings in the world could be avoided if people could learn basic swimming techniques.

Much to their surprise, Yun Hee quickly proved to be extraordinarily gifted, having learned the basics at lightning speed. She was so comfortable underwater that she much preferred swimming than walking on land. She even went as far as sulking when swimming lessons ended. She was also competitive with her fellow apprentices, a first, and tried her best to win, even during simple laps workouts.

In view of all this, her parents decided to enroll her in the competitive swimming club of her school and later to synchronized swimming as well as water polo lessons, at her request. She has won a countless amount of contests (if truth be told, in her bedroom there is a shelf specifically used to store her medals and cups). So far, the only person around her age that she knows coming close to her talent/her skill level is Runo.

In Yun Hee's eyes, swimming is a practical knowledge that everyone should have.

Her aptitude for householding/domestic tasks is also excellent, since she is used to keeping the large family home tidy by carrying out various chores. It's important to her to make life easier for her parents so that they can have dinner and rest as soon as they come home from their long day at work.

On top of that, Yun Hee is a true cordon bleu cook, a gourmet, as well as a pastry chef, so much so that Runo jokingly declared that Yun Hee was probably one of, if not the only person capable of satisfying Nakiri Erina's God Tongue. She even invented a few recipes. Yun Hee is a firm believer in the saying that a meal lifts your spirits. After all, what could be better than a hot meal to replenish your energy and have a clearer mind ?

It's not uncommon of her to pack her parents' lunch, prepare meals at home, or bake cakes for her mother's patients and/or her father's employees.

She takes joy in playing the piano and the gayageum (traditional korean instrument), especially privately to relax.

Skin: Fair-skinned, with rosy undertones. Despite being an outdoor person, Yun Hee doesn't tan easily. As she does a weekly self-care session, her skin is very smooth, as soft as a baby's. She does wear makeup but typically keeps it quite understated and natural, except for special occasions, such as dates or formal, and festive events. She typically sticks to pale pink lipgloss and some blush.

Expressions: Open body language, smiling most of the time. When she just met you, it's most likely an affiliative smile, but as you get to know her, she's more prone to laugh heartily, get touchy-feely and all.

Distinguishing features: She has a distinctive motherly aura that immediately puts you at ease and make you feel warm inside, as if you were her close friend for years when you actually just met her. Her radiant smile and laugh are very communicative and can brighten up the atmosphere of an entire room.

What does s/he take after; mother or father?: Physically, she clearly takes after her father, but personality-wise she completely takes after her mother, to the point they often complete each other’s sentences.

How does s/he dress or what do they typically wear?: Summer dress adorned with ribbons, heeled sandals. Pencil or ruffled skirts. Capri pants. Lace shirt. Clothing printed with flowers. Cardigan sweaters. Two-piece clothing sets. She tries to vary the colors in her outfits, but no one is fooled for it's quite obvious that she has a soft spot for sky blue.

Health: She's doing great for the most part. Sometimes her relatives and friends get worried about her thin build, but she is quick to dispel their concerns by explaining them that no, she doesn't starve herself and that it's just her natural build since she was child.

However, she has the bad habit of neglecting her own health in favor of aiding and taking care for others, and many people have already taken advantage of this, which does not prevent her from persisting in keeping doing it. She's a die-hard workalcoholic activist, which more than once led her to borderline burn-out. When she starts a new charity project, she cannot seem to ever stop, to the point of overworking herself without even realizing it, forgetting to take care of herself. Luckily, her parents and/or Sulyeon were always there to reason with her before it was too late. Since she started dating him, Saeran has been helping too. Yun Hee is obviously trying to get better/work on it, but needless to say; it's no picnic to fight against her very own selfless nature. Since she's really empathic, she often gets overwhelmed by her emotions while watching news about crisis-hit or war-torn countries and resents herself deeply for not being able to prevent wars and the like, which motivates her to volunteer even more.

Personality: Generous, virtuous, and caring are three words that can describe the best Yun Hee. She has a lot of love to give and treasures her relatives above all else. She is very considerate and insightful when it comes to other's feelings and never fails to meet their emotional needs. She’s also good at reading the atmosphere and acting accordingly.

Yun Hee decided very early on to dedicate her whole life to be of service to others. Profoundly pacifist and tactful, she is polite, fair and friendly with everyone, even with those who don't necessarily return her the favor. She's happy to welcome anyone in her circle of friends, which she considers as an extension of her family. From the start, she treated Sulyeon more like a sister than a cousin, and almost from the moment she meets Runo, she is openly sympathetic to her traumas.

She is charismatic, well-spoken, cultured, and generally hailed for her daring optimism, humility, and hardworking spirit. She is a genuine romantic who wears her heart on her sleeve and dreams of making the encounter that will change her life, even if she is less desperate than Iristheia on that side. Yun Hee is full of the joys of spring, enthusiastic even. She's not without a playful, michevious side as she will at times tease Sulyeon and Saeran.

Much like Yomi, she thrives in social situations and has a lot of connections. She has got a significant amount of followers on social media, but if you call her an internet star or an influencer she'll bashfully denies it while saying you're exaggerating.

Despite all her best qualities and good intentions, Yun Hee can come off as intrusive and nosy due to her tendency to act like a therapist or a social worker and meddle in everyone's businesses, often at the expense of her own well-being and also annoying the said people in the process, but she can't help it. Notably, she tends to act in what she believes to be her loved ones' best interests, without necessarily asking for their permission and/or approval beforehand, and can at times be so fixated with what she thinks will benefits them that she loses sight of what they actually want.

Yun Hee can't help but putting everyone's needs above her own. There is nothing that she wants more than all those close to her to be happy, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness. To be honest, she would do it without even giving it a second thought.

While Yun Hee is the first to acknowledge the harsh reality that humanity has indeed comitted horrific deeds, she still has unshakable faith that there is a good side in being a human, insisting that if humans are capable of bad, they are also capable to do good around them. She hopes that humanity will do better in the future, provided that everyone, on their own scale, makes a contribution and sticks together.

Bright and idealistic, Yun Hee is passionate about many causes. She finds it hard to accept that no matter how hard she tries and regardless of her willingness, she cannot realistically solve all the ills in the world, let alone help out everybody. She feels great guilt every time she realizes she can't help someone.

Her courtesy is not to be mistaken with being a doormat. On the opposite, she’s honest and unafraid to speak her mind, especially when upset or angered. While Yun Hee is a person of convictions, her emotions don't usually interfere with her aptitude to defend her viewpoints with both calm and eloquence. Because of this, her word tends to hold a lot of weight. She's a sweetheart, but with a healthy amount of firmness and assertivity. In spite of being dutiful, she never bury down her feelings for whatever reason, on the opposite, she embrace them fully and actively encourages others to do the same.

She has a strong set of values, as well as a strong sense of justice. She can be determined, persevering and even outright stubborn, as noted by Sulyeon. Yun Hee is first and foremost driven by her vigorous need to be good, upstanding, and loved. Nonetheless, while she may seem self-righteous, Yun Hee is actually aware of being privileged, as an member of an affluent family, and the daughter of two loving parents. This is manifested by her desire to impose exemplary conduct on herself no matter the situation, because she believes that she has no room for mistakes. Therefore, although she is forgiving and understanding of others, she is strict and demanding of herself, always pushing herself to do better, something Sulyeon sometimes criticizes her for doing. Yun Hee holds herself to a high standard and strives to be a role model for others, not for the sake of her own ego, but to inspire them to do better. She puts a lot of pressure on herself because she wants to set an example for others to follow so they become the best version of themselves. She is eager to please everyone at the expense of herself, and her greatest fear, other than not being able to help others, is to disappoint people, especially her dear ones.

Yun Hee is eager to help others, because she has always felt grateful to have had a more than fulfilling childhood and growing up in a nurturing, united household. After realizing (particularly through learning Suleyon's nightmarish past) that this was far from being the case for everybody, she had a revelation. She no longer had any doubts about her future vocation. She had to help others, the unfortunate, the downtrodden, marginalized of society, the unhappy children.

Assisting people is also spiritually gratifying to her, as it's a way of giving people what God has granted her from birth: love, care and happiness. She is a devoted Christian who feels like God has given her chance in life to bring happiness to other people's lives. Of course, this doesn’t prevent her of being very respectful of different faiths.

Moreover, Yun Hee is fairly well-versed in psychology as she often had long conversations with her mother about it. For instance, she could easily tell that Jina's apparent aggressivity was nothing but a defense mechanism to push away people out of fear of being hurt by them again. Similarily, she quickly realized that Runo wasn't nearly as carefree as she makes herself seem to be and had a survivor guilt. It also didn’t took her long to figure out that Sulyeon had trust issues and was emotionally stunt/closed-off because she went through the mill in the past. Her mother taught her early on to be compassionate of other people's feelings, because that would allow her to understand people better, get along well with them and in the long run to form indestructible bonds with many people, and she will never be grateful enough towards her for that.

After the truth comes out about her family, Yun Hee learns to value her own happiness more instead of constantly trying to please everyone at the expense of her well-being. She begins to focus more on becoming her own person, without letting go of her trademark kindness.

Background: Yun Hee had a joyous childhood. Never had the circumstances of any period in her life has forced her to grow up too fast, nor did she ever lacked parental affection. Raised with love and great care, always showered with praise, Yun Hee was able to develop good self-esteem and healthy relationships with other people. For this very reason, she nearly always assumes the best in others, for better and worse.

She has always been that kind of well-behaved, popular, and cordial kid, attracting people with her sincererity, reliability and amiability. She makes new friends in a hearbeat and is nearly constantly in many persons' company.

She would happily sing to the church choir, where other parents would often gush over her, asking how come her parents managed her to raise her into such a well-mannered and obliging child. It's also not uncommon for Yun Hee to offer her help to students who need some tutoring and she constantly comes up with many projects to make student life less stressful and more enjoyable; like for example the creation of support groups. Her desire to make herself useful and help out was noticed very early on in the different social circles she rubbed shoulders with and was met with admiration. She is largely considered a honor student, excelling at both academics and sports, and liked by her teachers for her politeness, diligence and willingness to work in team.

Because she takes her studies and her relationships equally seriously, Yun Hee is used to taking on positions of high responsibility, such as being class representative. While it's true that she possesses some charisma, the main reason her classmates elect her repeatedly every year is because as she openly expresses her trust in them, they trust her back. The same can be said for her teachers, who respect and esteem her very much because they deem her to be trustworthy.

Contrary to what one might think, Yun Hee was not well-loved by everybody. Albeit it's true that she always enjoyed some popularity with her peers, several of them found her Good Samaritan, “goody-two-shoes”/“holier-than-thou” demeanor arrogant, annoying, phony and hypocrite, rightly or wrongly. But Yun Hee has fortunately never been bullied, although she has been on the receiving end of her fair share of cutting and petty remarks, such as being called a teacher's pet, an attention w*ore or a spoiled brat among others.

Belonging to the upper middle class (leaning a bit more on the upper/richer side though), her family has never had any financial troubles since her father is a highly regarded doctor, founder and director of his own clinic, whereas her mother is a psychologist and psychiatrist recognized in the field, owning her cabinet, although she also works in the family clinic from time to time.

Her mother is consulted by people with a wide variety of profiles, from politicians, businessmen to youth, children, parents, and even the elderly.

Her father is rather serious and reserved, but still friendly and able to enjoy a good laugh, while her mother is more bubbly and gregarious, but still wise and willing to offer thoughtful advices if asked. It's been decades since her parents got married, and yet the two lovebirds are still completely head over heels in love with each other and have no qualms about whispering sweet nothings to each other in front of their daughters, to the point that Sulyeon felt the need to ask them (jokingly) to "get a room" several times.

They are humanitarian and often do philanthropy. Their values are reflected in their upbringing. Indeed, they raised Yun Hee with an open mind, and taught her to respect, accept and give love to people. Whenever asked to describe her parents, Yun Hee laud them as respectful, respected and respectable persons.

She has always been very close to her parents; she trusts them completely and hardly ever hides anything from them. They are always tolerant, open-minded, and non-judgmental, they support her in each of her decisions and encourage her to pursue her dreams. Since their relationship is based on respect and mutual understanding, even when she disagrees with them, it's extremely rare for these disagreements to turn into full-blown arguments. And even when they do, it only takes a short time for them to find a common ground and come to terms.

She cherishes them with all her heart. In return, they are very proud of her. They tend to pamper her enormously (they have a harder time doting on Sulyeon, who shies away from their affections more often than not). Actually, they often refer to her and Sulyeon as their greatest pride. They ensure that they both grow into admirable and fulfilled adults.

What's more, throughout her life, Yun Hee traveled abroad a lot with her parents, which surely helped to make her open-minded and cultivated.

Truth be told, Yun Hee never lacked for anything, never experienced great grief. She ignores how loss feels like, and for a long time she naively assumed that all children were as lucky as she was.

As enthusiastic as ever, Yun Hee therefore rejoiced that Sulyeon would become her sister, instead of saddening that she now had to share her parents' attention with her. She was very happy to welcome a new person into the family home, being determined to do everything to make the newcomer feel at home. Especially since, as an only child, she had always wanted a sibling.

Nevertheless, her actual reunion with Sulyeon completely changed her outlook on life. Seeing how utterly mentally destroyed Sulyeon was and was nothing like the witty and lively cousin she once knew, Yun Hee could only imagine what she had endured to change this much. It was the first time she realized how lucky and privileged she was to have always led such a comfortable life. She encountered tremendous disillusionment and blamed herself for being ignorant and self-centered enough to believe all children were sheltered and happy because she was. The ideal and perfect little world she had lived in until now collapsed like a house of cards, making way for the harsh reality of the real world, full of pain and suffering.

From that day on, Yun Hee took the initiative to get much more involved in the lives of others, not only of her family and classmates (her usual circles), but also strangers, especially the most disadvantaged. She decided to make conscious efforts never to be blind to the plight of others again. Her parents of course greatly encouraged her in her new resolve, as they saw it as a sign that she was maturing.

Yun Hee thus hastened to join charities and animal shelters, throwing herself body and soul into their projects. Very concerned about the fate of the planet, she has also joined ecological groups and made great efforts to become more eco-responsible and reduce her carbon footprint. With the support of her parents, she participated in fundraising events, she made lots of interesting encounters which made her mature and grow as a person. Above all, she became aware that by helping others, she was also helping herself.

For a long time she wanted to become a doctor, surgeon or emergency first aid attendant because practising a profession in the medical field would be one of the most direct means of coming to the aid of others. But during her last year of high school, she had a change of mind when she realized how much she had always desired to pass on values and knowledge to the younger generations to help them reaching their full potential and make fulfilled, responsible and empathetic citizens out of them on the long run. Thereby, they will be then able to pass those same values on to their children if they have any and so forth, which could slowly but steadily improve society as a whole. This is why she wishes to become a humanities teacher (while remaining part-time volunteer).

Yun Hee's life seems perfect in many ways. However, everything is not what it seems. Unknowbest to Yun Hee, behind this ideal family of hers she treasures so much, hides a dark secret. A secret so weighty that it could easily shatter to pieces the family harmony if it ever came to light.

Currently a student attending a prestigious international university in Seoul, Yun Hee is a lovely young lady completely happy with the life she leads and wouldn't trade it for the world. She has a warm family, friends she can count on, and feels like she has positively influenced the fate of many people.

So just imagine her surprise when, while relaxing and savouring a custard pastry on the terrace of her regular café, her daily life was suddenly interrupted when she received strange messages from a mysterious individual claiming to be a game developer looking for beta testers for a dating sim soon to be released, and that she had been drawn. Unable to resist the temptation to play a new Otome Game in preview and the stranger being quite convincing, Yun Hee finally gave in and followed his instructions, naively telling herself that in case of danger, she could still inform her parents or her sister.

Once there, things turned out to be much more complicated than expected. Indeed, Yun Hee quickly understood that Ray, as well as the other members of Mint Eye were unfortunate, vulnerable people who were being manipulated and exploited by their so-called "Savior". She thus couldn't bring herself to just leave and abandon them here. Despite her best judgment, she made up her mind to find a way to help them plucking up the courage to find their own voice and reclaim their freedom. Little did she know, that this was only the beginning of the most intense and fantastic period of her life…

Trivia:

Yun Hee is very interested in Indian culture. Actually, she once partook in a school exchange to India when she was still in high school.

She can speak Korean (obviously), Mandarin Chinese, English and Italian fluently. She also has some knowledge of Japanese and is currently learning Hindi and Tamil.

Like her older sister, she is very fond of animals. She is flexitarian, by the way.

She aims to become a teacher, but she can see herself potentially becoming a diplomat in a more distant future, when she has more professional experience.

She still lives with her parents, who are totally fine with it.

When she needs some alone time, she likes to take a walk on the beach early in the morning or late at night, as these are the only times of the day when there are few, if any, people there.

She never dated someone, due to devoting all her time to helping everyone since she was very young. Because of her kind and helpful nature, she always had frequently quite a lot of persons who would confess to her, especially when she was in high school.

Following the events of Ray’s After Ending and after finding out the truth about her family, Yun Hee needed to sort out her feelings. To this end, she decided to take some time for herself to think about what she wants, her life and her future, moving temporarily to live with Sulyeon, after having informed Saeran.
