Arthur X Boyish Reader ( I have been mistaken for being a lesbian even though I'm not, so I'm curious how Arthur would react?) I love your writing by the way, your way of writing Arthur's character is very well done 🤗💙
Hello anooonn first of all thank you for your kind words 🥺 Also JSKHFDJA I CAN RELATE. I have masculine looks as well so i def have fun doing this hcs
The first thing Arthur would notice was your hair (if you have a short, boyish cut). He'd be surprised with the length of your hair, but still complimented you. (and def would give a side-eye to anyone who tell you to get more feminine hair)
It would be a bit hard for him to give you clothes, as he usually bought women’s outfits for his past lovers. But he tried his best to understand your fashion choice (man literally wore koko shirts only).
Couple outfits but it’s the same clothes lol ! He would buy you the same koko shirt he has but in your size.
Speaking of clothes, there would be expensive and custom tailored suits for your birthday gift.
Also the wedding outfits would be both of you and him wearing suits 😩
This was a whole new experience for Arthur. He was usually the gent in the relationship but now there were two people filling that role.
He didn’t judge your sexuality preference, but yeah ngl he was a bit surprised finding out you date men. (considering the old stereotype of boyish girls back in his past).
Arthur would be a bit rough with you. Not in a bad way, but like how he hung out with his fellow men.
Boyish girls often got weird stigma and stereotypes, not to mention some people thinking you should be more feminine. In that way, he wouldn’t hesitate to scold anyone who treated you like that.
He would also joke how his hair was longer than yours considering it’s uncommon for men having longer hair than their women.
You would steal some of his t-shirts and wear it as pyjamas thanks to his significantly different size.
Also you would wear his short pants as well though those would turn into 3/4 length shorts on your legs.
He’s not used to being flirted with, so expect him blushing a lot and averting his face while you keep teasing him.
Yeah people would think he was dating a man. It was inevitable lmao.
In the end, he would accept you regardless of your look. Even if you were as manly as him, it didn’t really matter to him !

Woe! Moon Knight Playlist be upon ye:
Loosely based on combination themes from the comics; 1980s, MacKay and Lemire, but following the plot of the TV show.
Descriptions of how songs fit into plot under cut:
Marc's childhood
A. Playlist starts on a full moon, foreshadows how Moon Knight's trauma as a child leads to the events of the show (going to war, becoming a mercenary, becoming an avatar).
B. TW for song: description of death and suicide; not literal but representing depression after his brothers death and his mom being unable to cope and taking it out on him.
C. They are able to survive the trauma through dissociation. Their brain protects them through experiences that would be unbearable to fully ensure. Steven forms and is able to have a more normal childhood.
D. Marc thinks he's broken as a result of his trauma - if you follow the plot of the comics where Elias has him go through mental health treatment this could be him having a lot of internalized ableism from shitty therapists/psychologists.
E. Jake trying to protect Marc from self-destructive tendencies as a child. This part is a head cannon based on how Jake fronts whenever the system is in danger.
F. Projecting my frustration at the US mental health care system onto blorbo. Also fits with the themes of Marc thinking he's "crazy" and the internal structure of his brain later being an outdated psychiatric hospital.
2. Leaving home/struggling with Jewish faith
A. I love Rosin Coven!!! With that out of the way - initially chosen for Klezmer (culturally Ashkenazi Jewish music) music and the Hebrew song in the middle and references to the Torah. Moon Knight trying to navigate their trauma, the water representing the death of their brother and resulting abuse from their parents, and ultimately deciding they need to leave. Also themes of being a traveler, later ties into Khonshu's whole "protecting travelers of the night" thing; the Moon Knight system is also a traveler.
B. Another song chosen for Klezmer influences and being about whether to stick with "Old Time Religion", sometimes a term for Judaism. Both struggling with believing in G-d, with identity, and with the idea there is no objective reality. The Hebrew in the song translates to "I am that I am", which is potentially an answer and also a epithet for G-d.
C. Classic, and I mean the classic, Jewish struggling with faith song. I know everyone thinks it's Christian now because of the covers but it's not - "You said I took the name in vain - I don't even know the name" goes hard! Leonard Cohen ily.
3. Military and mercenary work to dying and being resurrected in the desert
A. Song about enlisting for war and veterans later having to deal with the trauma. Marc got discharged at some point, but given the skills he used a mercenary he probably did his fair share of fighting before that. I think that this would contribute to his trauma and he keeps triggering himself further by doing more mercenary work. He's also 18 when he enlists, which is young!!! Forever sad about him, augh.
B. TW: Suicidal ideation and mentions of suicide. Marc trying to decide whether to stay alive in the desert after what happened to the archeologists. Determining if he wants to accept Khonshu's offer. Ultimately deciding to live.
C. Khonshu choosing Marc as an avatar, believing in him to fulfill his duties and offering him protection.
4. Marc (and possibly Jake?!?) working for Khonshu
A. Getting resurrected and becoming an avatar means he's essentially always in debt to Khonshu. And Khonshu will remind him of that.
B. Marc and Khonshu's relationship - Khonshu is very manipulative but Marc doesn't necessarily fight against that at first. Marc is used to following orders to kill people and I think internalizes seeing himself as a weapon.
C. Both a metaphor for Khonshu asking Marc to take revenge on people and Ammit's pre-determined destiny killings.
5. Steven (start of Moon Knight TV show)
A. Steven definitely knowing that something is weird, given his tendency to stay up to avoid losing control and memory lapses. But he doesn't know what, and doesn't know about the rest of the system yet.
B. Marc trying to protect Steven. Steven is the "fish" that Marc tries to protect from Khonshu, but ultimately they are both still stuck under his control (bird cage).
C. "Dear fellow traveler underneath the moon" - Due to Marc's deal, the whole system is the avatar of Khonshu since it's one body. Also like to imagine it's a metaphor for how, even though he chooses to distance himself and serve Khonshu so that Layla doesn't get hurt, he still misses her.
6. Dealing with the trauma after being killed by Harrow
A. Therapist Harrow. Marc having to deal with his trauma and also being gaslight about the rest of the series not being real (hello Lemire run influence!)
B. How his brother dying affected his entire family, breaking it apart and leaving the Moon Knight system to deal with the emotional trauma on their own.
C. Steven telling Marc that Randall's death wasn't his fault and he didn't deserve his mom's abuse (10/10 made me cry).
7. Marc and Steven healing
A. Marc hugging Steven after saving him from death and being able to love himself through loving Steven.
B. The system accepting having Dissociative Identity Disorder, being honest with Layla, and working together to be healthier.
C. Marc no longer being as burdened by his childhood trauma and understanding that his dad should have protected him.
8. Jake still working with Khonshu to protect the rest of the system
A. Steven explicitly tries to break off their relationship with Khonshu due the manipulation. Thus this is their acknowledgement of how the system was being treated by Khonshu and quitting as their avatar.
B. Jake however, is still in the agreement with Khonshu in order to protect Steven and Marc. Something still "isn't quite right" in that they don't know they're still tied to Khonshu. Also recovering from the trauma of the events of the show. A new moon, completing the phases. What will happen next?

[Moon knight, you better have a season 2!!!]
The crocodile lady is finally Outta her coffin, in technical terms- Goddess Ammit was finally released from her usabti (what happened then shall wait).
Layla politely saying fuck off to khonshu and his tricks. The loveliness of the moment- "the manipulative twat gets told off".
I don't have words for this scene. Marc was finally having his moment, his confession. He manifested the quiet he always wanted but he threw it away without a care just to save Steven, just to have him back.
This was one of the funniest parts in the episode. "Manipulative twat gets told off again"- he literally grumbled at having to deal with Steven! And then they do their little name-game. 'Siply old bird' and 'little worm', of course it's sarcasm from both sides but fuck that- pet names are pet names.
May calamawy!!!!! Mama ate it!!! The way she switched between Taweret and herself- bent in pain) oh man!! She's BRILLIANT bloody hell!
And the costume!! Fire!! Taweret and Layla gonna end up besties!
That little smirk Layla gave to Marc like - "I'm saving your ass again, by the way in a costume this time" and the "oh, baby" Marc said and hugged her. Holy shit, therapy really did wonders on my boy, finally talking without restraints. Notice how the first thing Marc does is check up on her and then Steven out like "holy shit babe, what IS THAT?!" . Because of course Steven knows Layla can kick ass.
Steven fought!!! And the little dust off. Boy, his confidence literally had me out of my seat the whole time.
"Are you an Egyptian superhero?"
"Yes"
Hoy shit! The world finally has an Egyptian superhero, go Layla go. The pride in her voice though🔪
Not the knife 🤍
The Spanish killer's back in the league. And this time Jake's literally there. And is that khonshu in a fucking suit? They literally are like "jakey got a cabbie so we go take a trip to loony bin, let me wear my panty....no pants, yes pants."
By the way, Jake has a fucking temper and his first response to almost any stimuli has been to kill and escape so far..maybe he's doing this to protect Marc and Steven from khonshu and his horrors?
