The kind of peace that came about after the 4th Great Ninja War was unlike any other.

It was the kind of peace that left everyone reassured that everything could be okay.

No more wars, no more kidnappings, no more conflict. All of the Nations were finally existing in harmony.

And for that reason, it would be expected that along with the tranquility of the world, the calmness of your heart would follow.

Unfortunately for you that was proving to be unlikely.

A certain Yellow Flash of the Leaf was accountable for the chaos taking place in your heart.

Ever since the attack on the Village that took place when you were only a teen, Minato was someone that you had always looked up to.

That day he had a close call with death, only nearly escaping by sealing all of the Nine Tails chakra inside of his son, avoiding the deadly jutsu.

Unfortunately, with the demon being taken out of his wife, Kushina did not survive. For years the 4th Hokage grieved the loss of his wife, his first love, unknowing to the admirer watching from the sidelines.

You suffered in silence for a while, wishing on every star, flower petal, and coin hoping that it could do something for your unrequited love for Minato.

Unfortunately, all of those wishes would be wasted, because no matter how much you prayed it would happen, it wouldn't until you did something about it.

“Hokage-Sama!” You called out while stepping into his office, soon to be passed over to his student Kakashi Hatake.

“Ah, Y/n. Please just Minato. I should start getting used to it.”

“Yes, of course, Minato-Sama.” You stood awkwardly, unsure of how to go about asking this particular question.

“Was there something you needed?” He questioned, slightly tilting his head to the side. It made him look childlike, even if he was older than you.

“Well, I wanted to know, if maybe you would be interested in going on a date with me.” You breathed out a sigh of relief, the hard part was over.

Now the most emotionally damaging would come next.

You noticed how pale the Hokage had gotten at first. His bright blue eyes opened wider than usual and his mouth placed in a small ‘o’ shape.

The sight made you even more nervous, until his fair skin began to turn into a bright shade of crimson.

“I’m surprised such a lovely young lady would ask me on a date. You're beautiful, have your whole life ahead of you. What could you possibly want with an old, widowed man like me? Wouldn’t Itachi or Shisui Uchiha be better matches for you?” Minato babbled, hardly giving you enough time to think up responses to his questions.

“I’m happy you think of me that way, but I’m not much younger than you Minato-Sama. You’re someone that I have always admired, and being able to work for you as your right hand has only solidified my feelings. Anyway, I’m more into blondes.” You giggled, attempting to lighten the mood after hearing Minato sell himself so short.

“I suppose so, well if you think I’m enough, I’d be more than happy to go on a date with you.”

To think that moment was already three years ago. So much has happened since then.

Dates after dates, comforting each other during the loneliest nights, and bonding with his son, Naruto.

Today you stand looking over crowds of people, all gathered for your wedding.

The dress was more beautiful than you could have ever imagined, and everything seemed to be in place. It was peaceful and a joyous occasion among the Village.

People that had passed you on the street before now sat at the venue, anxiously awaiting your marriage to the previous Hokage.

You took deep breaths, at an attempt to calm down, but seeking no avail. The wedding hadn't started yet, but the ticking of the clocks went faster every passing second.

“Hey, you’re not getting cold feet on me right?”

The voice slowed down all of the sounds, movement, and time itself.

You quickly turned to see Minato in his traditional western wedding attire. He was still everything that you could have ever wanted, and he had proved it to you.

“Never in a million years.” You replied.

“Good me neither. Let’s get married!”

Grabbing his hand you walked to the entrance of the venue, only letting go of his hand to give him his head start down the aisle.

The peace in your heart was long awaited, but had arrived.
