Lately I've been going down the Luigi's mansion rabbithole and I've been thinking of King Boo's powers.

So we all know that he's able to create portraits to capture people right?

But you know who else has used paintings to do evil things?

Bowser in Super Mario 64/64 DS. In there, Toad said that Bowser "stole the power stars and used their magic to create evil lands of monsters in the walls and paintings."

So because of this, I have a small headcannon/theory that King Boo took inspiration from Bowser's use of the paintings in Mario 64.

I mean he had to get the inspiration to use paintings somewhere. (Imo)

Real fast, whether you believe 64 DS or the OG 64 is canon, I like to think that either way, King Boo took notice of what Bowser did and wanted to build off of it.

I haven't played the first Luigi's Mansion, but if I recall correctly, King Boo used E. Gadd's portraitficationizer just in reverse to free the ghosts and Boolossus. Then he used it to trap Mario in a painting, however Mario could still move in his portrait prison (somehow).

So he didn't do anything himself there, but by the time of Dark moon, we see him actually learn to create portraits via his new crown magic and make them still so his victims can't move or yell for help in them.

Then by Luigi's Mansion 3, King Boo has basically perfected the art of prison portraits (pun intended) and even learned how to put more victims in them and to increase their size for larger traps.

So it seems through his experimentation with them, he developed his portrait powers.

TLDR: King Boo liked what Boswer did with paintings and just rolled with it, just in a completely more deranged way and his use of them evolved over time.

IDK, I just noticed that they've both used paintings before then this headcannon/theory formed. Hope you liked my random rambling about my 2 favorite Nintendo villains.

Also, I'm sure this isn't the most well thought out, but still, it's kinda interesting to think about.

Something I like to imagine is the residents of isle Delfino and the ghost of evershade valley visiting each other's lands Mario odyssey style.

Same! I honestly love that idea- Even ghosts need a vacation sometimes man. And they've been through alot those past 3 games-

I've read a few fics (like 3) of DM!King Boo going to Delfino Island (mostly Sirena beach with Luigi and Boolossus) but never seen any the other way around smh-

like there could be a haunted house attraction, etc... whatever thats there- for the Delfino's and Noki's, they and the Sirena Beach Ghosts could stay in the hotel/mansion thats there! (If thats what was rebuilt at the end of LM3, I forgot) And ofc the ghosts of Nevershade get to tour around the island !! Along with Luigi, E.Gadd n King Boo etc...- just some antics all around :3

What happens when you write a story and put Boolossus as the supporting boo...? You end up with this insanity. Making yourself an OC to pair with the idiot, even if he only really talks and has lore in LM1 and then after is just a boss you can optionally fight.

Anyways. Flower girl Lotus. I have a love of the lotus flower, so I had to do something with that when I decided to make this character a flower girl.

I headcanon'ed that Boolossus' boos prefer to be numbered outside of their true form, which is why Boo number 1 is mentioned in there. 1-6 are the bravest and usually are the guards when 7-16 take up the imposter king role if need be. 15 and 16 are the shyest probably and don't like being solo.

I don't know if I'll write or draw a lot of them, but the idea was adorable, so I did this anyways instead of working on my other need to be done refs... heh... (ಥ﹏ಥ)

SPOILERS FOR LUIGI'S MANSION 3 IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED/BEATEN THE GAME YET

luigi's mansion 3!! the second game ive ever owned for my nintendo switch. (the first being splatoon) i got it as a birthday gift, and it is the reason why i love video games so much now.

ive beaten this game so many times in a short time period that im burned out from it 💀 itll probably be a long while before i find entertainment in it again, but i enjoy playing scarescraper mode with my friends, and i have also beaten this game with my dad. hooh what an experience

i have 165 hours in this game and those are some good hours well spent!

since this was the first time in a really long time i got to sit down and enjoy a mario game by myself, i forgot how much i liked the mario franchise. i forgot how adorable luigi wassss hes so cute

i enjoy the puzzles and boss fights, with my favorite floor being "tomb suites" (the egypt themed floor). i also enjoyed 100%ing the game, collecting all the gems and the boos

i also think the visuals are super pretty.

the designs, lighting, rooms, etc, are great

also the music SLAPS 👏👏 i love the titlescreen music and i listen to it sometimes

i like how the ost has some jazz to it too

i think that's all i have to say about the game itself but i really enjoy hellen gravely!! i like her fascination with king boo and her boss fight was tricky the first time i played it. i hope she comes back if a new installment to the series is made, because with how outraged she was at luigi for "ransacking her hotel", capturing her staff, and also capturing her cat, polterkitty, i doubt she's a villain that would fall once and not come back without a rematch, even without having king boo to help. also not to mention her desire to appease king boo, someone she adores. if she were to come back, her motivations would probably be getting king boos respect back, and also getting revenge on luigi for the events i just mentioned

also luigi and mario hugging after fighting hellen is so wholesome

i think the only "problem" i have with this game is that some of the bosses in this game (even the boos) have the same attack somewhere: spinning

several bosses like chef soulffle, clem, king macfrights, and dj phantasmagloria, all hold some object in their hand and just spin around the room for a bit before getting dizzy (except for dj phantasmagloria) and i think its quite repetitive

like is that really all you got

you could excuse all of the characters i just mentioned except for macfrights since their professions aren't really good for combat (like djs or chefs don't beat the shit outta people, they just play music and cook food) but king macfrights is literally a king who has armor and swords

in his final stage where you destroy his armor, all he wields is a sword and shield

and he spins around with them to attack you

for some reason

why doesn't he use his weapons properly and try to stab luigi or something instead of spinning around because that's not how you use a sword or a shield 😭 its kind of sad to look at since hes a king living in medieval times

also king boos boss fight is so annoying

trying to aim the bombs in his mouth is uuuuughghygghhgghh

and yet in scarescraper its much easier to aim bombs at boolossus

but that's all i have to say for luigis mansion. i like the game, regardless of the "issues" i just mentioned, and i think you should buy it. (quotations around issues because it's probably not too much of a big deal and regardless i had a good time with this game) have a good day. sorry if that's a lame ending to this post it's 4 am right now. i also apologize for any spelling errors i made and didn't catch

Guess who played nonstop of Luigi Mansion games? THIS GIRL~ XDD So considering Boolossus's return in Luigi's Mansion 3, I can't say I'm surprised considering how Boolossus had quite an impact in regards to the series, but seeing how he got to return in the ScareScraper, well, after watching their boss fight compared to the first Luigi's Mansion (And the 3DS because I currently have the 3DS version), well, let's just say this comic just had to be drawn XD

Even more information about the horror Boo.

Only 6 or 7 of them come from different time period or had certain jobs. The others just like the looks.

Even tough Boolossus isn't in the AU because he was KILLED by a raging King Boo, a shrine can be found ner the 'Original Mansion' graveyard.

Boo do have genders, they just don't have as much to show as humans.

In the Game, the Boo are just random enemies or obstacle. In the Horror Au, they can be counted as optional miniboss that will appear BEFORE facing a boss ghost.

They flirt. Badly. Luigi, Mario and every ghost in the hotel have at least 1 Boo stalker.

All the Boo are child of King Boo, but only Lady Bow and Bootler are respected by the King.

As for the popularion, there are:

17 at Last Resort

420 at Boo Woods

520 in the Central Mushroom Kingdom.

Spooky Video Game Music No. 115: Boolossus Battle (Luigi's Mansion - GC) In the game that launched the magnificent Nintendo GameCube, Luigi goes to a haunted house that he won from a contest. There are many ghosts roaming the place. Some may be ghosts that once lived in the house. Others might be the popular Boos. And one of them is a giant Boo fused with smaller ones named Boolossus. This is one ghost Luigi must face as one of the big bosses of the game. But how would Luigi would capture something this size? Maybe these nearby Ice Elements and two nearby alicorn statues would help... While Luigi's Mansion has been in this list in the last 3 years (2 are from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and 1 was a remix of its main theme in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and 4), this is surprisingly the first time a song from the first game is in the list. XD With this song, it sounds like you're facing something fast and crazy due to the instruments going all over the place. It makes sense since Boolossus is bouncing around the stage at fast speed. It gives the feeling of being chased by something unstoppable. Plus, the choice of instruments sound very unnerving yet still sound cartoony as well, fitting the game's tone. Possibly this song was in so many gamers' mind due to the insanity of catching that very last mini-Boo, which is damn fast and hard to catch. XD That would haunt anyone's dreams due to the frustration of getting it. XD
