But little does James know, Regulus is actually the one messaging James on his account cause he couldn't on his cause of like, family stuff I guess, he didn't want the media to find out or something, and then James and Sirius meet irl at a party hosted by their mutual friend, singer Peter Pettigrew, and they get to talking and become friends and that's when Sirius spills the beans that it was actually Reg messaging him all that stuff, and James falls in love or something.

If they ever do a tv show on the most noble and ancient house of black I think they should use “Electra Hearts” and “The Family Jewels” as seasons themes.
Each episode should be named after a song of the album of the season, the first episode of the first season should start with “Are you satisfied?” and the last one of the season sould be “Guilty” ecc.

Harry Potter Marauders Era- Post Hogwarts

_________
You stormed back into the house muttering about how much you wanted to kick Regulus in the shins.
“Did daddy already piss you off?”
Sirius said with a smirk as he looked up from his place at the kitchen table. He clearly could see that you were in a less than happy state but he needed answers. The scowl on your face told Sirius that he was lucky to not be killed.
“You know if I didn’t adore you so fucking much I would bitch slap the hell out of you and yes he made me mad.”
You said before sitting down across from Sirius. He smiled innocently before making a drink appear in front of you.
“Is there booze in this?”
You questioned. Sirius nodded.
“It appears that is what you need.”
You laughed bitterly. Hell yes, you needed booze and Sirius needed to make sure that the drinks kept coming. If you got drunk, that would be just fine. Harry wouldn't be waking up anytime soon and if he did, Sirius could tend to him.
“You have no idea.”
You muttered. Sirius was quiet for a moment before finally deciding to speak again.
“Y/n, I normally don’t pry into your life mostly because we know everything about each other but I am feeling a bit left out and confused at the moment.”
You took a drink, knowing that it was time to tell Sirius the truth. All of your dirty and most passionate secrets were about to come spilling out to your best friend.
“We dated for three years.”
You replied. Sirius was clearly surprised. How did he and James not pick up on this? Were they that distracted that they didn’t notice you with Regulus? The better question was what did you really have in common with his little brother (other than an impeccable gift of sarcasm)?
“Wow...so was it some weird sex thing or an actual relationship?”
“It was an actual relationship combined with mind-blowing sex that would make Satan himself blush. Do you remember my friend Samantha?”
Sirius internally gagged at the word “mind-blowing sex.” To him, you were the funny girl that tagged around with the Marauders. Sure, Sirius was aware that you had lost your virginity but he wasn’t for sure to whom it was...now he knew.
“Yeah the girl from Ravenclaw, you used to study with her a lot.”
You shook your head.
“Samantha was actually your brother and I can tell you that there was no studying going on. Most of the time when I came back to the common room I was wondering if I had remembered my underwear.”
You had to stifle a look at the expression on Sirius’ face. He was quiet for a few moments longer before speaking again.
“So both of you are into some freaky shit, huh?”
Taking a sip of your drink, you only batted your eyes at Sirius.
“It depends on how you define the word freaky.”
You said replied with a sly smile. Had this conversation been with James there probably would have been a lot of yelling and screaming. With Sirius, it was a pleasant yet uncomfortable experience that both of you should look back on and laugh.
“Well, you call my brother daddy. That is some information that I could have totally gone without knowing. Now I can’t look at my little brother the same way. I'm going to call him daddy now just to witness his reaction.”
Sirius was relieved when you smiled.
“And that doesn’t surprise me. Let me make sure to find a camera because that will be an uncomfortable experience for both Regulus and myself.”
Sirius grinned.
“It was a very uncomfortable experience for me to hear earlier. Well...more like the rug being pulled out from underneath me. So, all jokes aside, what happened between the two of you?”
Your face darkened. This wasn’t a memory that you ever wanted to think about...the break up a week after graduation. It was like having the rug pulled out from under you. You still felt that way when you thought about it. Something had you convinced that Regulus was the one for you and maybe you still felt that way.
While you were in America, you had tried dating others but it never worked out. You always compared them to Regulus. They were always annoying you, talking too much, and didn't know how to touch you. Unbeknownst to you, you were the lucky one. You hadn’t been bitten during a moment of what was supposed to be exciting.
“Regulus decided that he didn’t want to disappoint your parents. They would never accept me because I am a blood traitor so bye bye Y/n.”
Sirius frowned.
“Is that why you took off to the states?”
You nodded.
“That would be the reason.”
Sirius’ was quiet again. He was trying to think of some “big brother-like” bit of advice that he could give you that might be helpful but he couldn’t think of anything. Everything that he had to offer sounded a bit condescending or downright cold…
Positive one, Walburga Black won’t be your mother-in-law Positive two, we don’t have to worry about James rolling over in his grave. Positive three,...
Sirius was sure that there were positive number three and if you gave him time he could come up with more.
“Why are you sitting here in my brother’s coat if you are so mad at him?”
You realized that you were still, in fact, still wrapped in Regulus’ coat. In your subconscious, you were enjoying having Regulus’ comforting scent around you.
“We were outside talking and he put it around my shoulders before pissing me off. I told him that he wasn’t getting his coat back and he isn’t. I’m a petty bitch and am going to keep this coat like that gold-hoarding dragon from The Hobbit.”
Sirius chuckled. He again realized how much that he had missed you over the past year.
“Alright Smaug junior, go take your gold and hide upstairs because I hear the front door opening.”
You jumped up and ran up the stairs as Regulus stepped in. Sirius took a sip of his tea before meeting his brother’s face. Regulus’ cheeks were pink from the chill of the evening.
“Is that hot?”
Sirius nodded.
“Just pour it on me.”
Sirius smirked as Regulus grabbed the blanket that was on the back of the couch and curled up in it.
“You know, a lesser man would have come back in for his coat. How are you doing, daddy?”
Regulus glared at Sirius before going to pour himself a cup of tea. It took all that Sirius had not to burst out laughing at the sneer on his brother’s face. Regulus looked like Sirius had force-fed him a lemon.
Y/n just missed a fine moment.
“Never call me that again! Maybe I don’t want to get punched in the face. Y/n is mad and I’m an idiot.”
Sirius shrugged.
“You said it.”
Regulus groaned sitting down. He wanted to apologize to you but he knew at the moment he would be better attempting to baptize a feral cat.
“I was trying to do her a favor.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t do Y/n any favors and let her make her own choices or possibly use the balls between your legs to tell mum and dad to fuck off?”
Regulus’ lip twitched at this brother’s comment. It was so easy for Sirius to talk about telling Walburga and Orion to fuck off. He wasn't the one that had to be “the good son.” That was all on Regulus’ shoulders. Sure, now his efforts were shot to hell but Regulus was doing the right thing...the noble thing.
“Have you forgotten what is on my left arm? Y/n is an auror and she is going to be working for Moody soon. What a fucking joke we both would be. A death eater dating an auror...and the other way around. I did her a favor.”
Sirius raised an eyebrow.
“Well, you aren’t a death eater anymore. You are just acting like you missed your little nap.”
Regulus crossed his arms, reminding Sirius of the little boy that would turn Grimmauld Place into a literal nightmare on Elm Street when he didn’t have a nap during the day.
“She said...well screamed at my face...that she should have dated you because you would have been so much better to her.”
Sirius winced.
“Ouch. To be fair, she and I would kill each other. I would be better off dating you...with our family history no one would bat an eye.”
Regulus didn’t want to think about his family's pureblood history at the moment. He had enough on his plate.
“If you were dating me, I would kill you. Now I get to sit back and watch the two of you play house with James’ kid. Just a thought but you two may want to save some money for the therapy that child is going to need.”
Sirius stood up and shook his head.
“Nah, the little tyke is going to be just fine.”
Regulus wanted to make a snarky comment but decided not to.
“Where did Y/n go anyway?”
Sirius pointed to the stairs.
“Upstairs with your coat that is no longer yours. I would suggest leaving her alone unless you want to lose an eye. If you do bother her and lose an eye, I will forever compare you to a pirate.”
Regulus stood up and moved to leave the room.
“Yeah, well, fuck you.”
Walking upstairs, Regulus poked his head hesitantly into what was your room. When nothing was thrown at him, Regulus figured out that the room was empty. He had no idea what he was going to say to apologize to you. If you didn’t want to hear what he was going to say, you would let whatever words that he has to offer go in one ear and out the other. It wasn’t like things were before. He couldn’t just grab you and have his way with you anymore. Things were different and Regulus wasn’t sure if they would ever be the same.
Regulus stopped outside of Harry’s nursery at the sound of your soft voice singing. Looking into the room, but not making his presence known, Regulus watched as you cradled Harry. He stepped back outside the door with his back against the wall. Had Regulus forgotten how peaceful it sounded to hear your voice? When you weren’t being sassy (and things weren’t tense) you were the most calming person that Regulus had in his life.
Don't take it so seriously, no. Only time is ours . The rest we'll just wait and see. Maybe you're right, babe, maybe. Oh no, and that's how summer passed. Oh your, great divide and range of green green grass. Oh, maybe I hold on fast, to you . Hello love, my invincible friend. Hello love, the thistle and the burr. Hello love, for you I have so many words but I, I forget where we were
Stepping away from the room, Regulus knew it was best that he walked away for now.
Regulus didn’t see you the next morning either. You were gone before he woke up. It was Remus that told him “gently” that you had decided to go back to work as an auror. Regulus hated the thought of that altogether. You had no reason to go to work With the Potter family fortune, you could live comfortably and raise Harry. It wouldn’t be your style though. You were probably doing this just to spite him.
Your choice of being an auror was the topic of the first fight that the two of you had as a couple. It was funny, especially now, for Regulus to think that the first fight happened weeks before the breakup. Now he should have seen it was the beginning of the end.
“You’re what?!”
Regulus snapped. The two of you had met at the top of the astronomy tower. Graduation was a few weeks and you decided to drop the bomb of your career to be.
“You heard me. It's what I want to do, Reggie.”
“You do realize what I am right? I don’t think that it will be looked upon very highly for you to have a boyfriend that is a death eater.”
You smirked.
“No one technically knows anything right now as it is so…
Regulus pulled himself out of his memory when you stepped into the kitchen with Marlene McKinnon on your heels. Sirius quickly leaned over and playful elbowed Regulus in the side with a smile that said, there is your woman.
“I’m an idiot. I never should have broken up with him, Y/n. I’m just a mess.”
Regulus watched as your eyes fluttered in his direction before looking away...as if he were not even in existence.
“Marlene, there is hope. It comes with batteries. Trust me, no man is worth that much aggravation. I understand why Dorcas loves women. Let me tell youI am a big supporter of the lesbian community. I wish that I was a lesbian.”
Sirius, Regulus, and Remus both looked up at that. It took all that you had not to laugh at the expression on the face of every man in the room.
“What?”
Remus questioned. You put your bag down before turning to face Remus and a very amused Sirius.
“Like gay guys, they really have it made. So think about it, you’re a guy and your with a guy who has the same interest as you that's like a win-win situation. First of all, you both like to have a lot of sex and if you’re both interested in sports you can go to hockey games, football games, quidditch matches. It's all blowjobs and ball games.”
Sirius immediately started laughing so hard that he almost fell out of his chair. This was going to be one of those Y/n conversations that he had missed so much over the past year.
“Blow jobs and ball games?”
Remus questioned, stifling a laugh, before turning to Sirius wondering if his lover was going to make it through this conversation. You, meanwhile, smirked over the top of the drink that Marlene handed you.
“Sweetie, no matter the sexual orientation every relationship goes great until the both of you start having secret evil plans to piss each other off. This doesn’t apply to Sirius and Remus because you two are the perfect relationship having freaks.”
Sirius grinned.
“You think so??”
You groaned.
“Buzzkill, Marlene. So what you are saying is even if you and I were doing each other, we would be doomed?”
Marlene nodded before deciding to use your comment.
“There is hope. It comes with batteries.”
You were watching Regulus out of the corner of your eye. He was only blinking with a small amused smirk on his face. Clearly, he had no idea that this was the conversation that everyone in this room had on a regular basis.
“I’m going to take a nap.”
Sirius stood up to take his empty cup to the sink.
“Remus and I are taking Harry clothes shopping. Do you have any requests on what not to buy?”
You shook your head.
“I think that you two will be just fine. Marlene, what are you doing tonight?”
Marlene was gathering up her sweater and handbag.
“Going to find a new boyfriend that runs on batteries.”
You gave her a thumbs up before turning and walking out of the room.
(1 hour later…)
You lay awake staring at the ceiling. From the time that you had laid down, your mind was on Regulus. Being back in the same house was quickly wearing on you. Every moment that you looked at him, you wanted nothing more than to get your hands back on your former lover.
Face it, princess, you still love him and want nothing more than to fuck his brains out.
You could take your own advice and invest in a good vibrator. It wouldn't be good enough though. Nothing would be as good as the real thing.
There is nothing wrong with teasing Regulus and let him see what he’s missing.
That could be the most promising advice that you could give yourself at the moment. Sitting up, you let your eyes fall to the trunk that was in the corner. It was the one trunk that you hadn’t unpacked yet. You knew inside was one of Regulus’ school white dress shirts. After one very steamy sex meet up, you may have just taken it back to the Gryffindor tower with you.
You didn’t want to think about how over the past year that you would wear that shirt when you wanted to feel close to Regulus again.
Don’t be a buzzkill.
You thought as you shook the thoughts from your mind. Grinning evilly, you slid your dress, bra, and knickers off before opening the trunk and looking for the article of clothing that you needed.
Stepping outside of your bedroom door, you stood dressed in only Regulus’ shirt unbuttoned halfway with nothing else underneath. You had sent Sirius a message and told him to take Harry out for ice cream. This would be enough to keep Remus and Sirius out for a bit longer. You would have enough time to work your “magic.”
You peaked your head around the corner before walking into the living room. Regulus sat rather unsuspectingly minding his own business with a book on his lap. You weren't sure what would happen after this incident took place. Were you ready to take Regulus back and risk having your heart broken again? You weren't sure 100%. Time would have to tell on that one but getting laid for the first time in years sounded nice.
Time to put this plan into action
The moment that you walked casually through the living room you were never more thankful to be such a good actress. You were able to keep your face straight without blushing when Regulus looked up and dropped the drink that he was holding in his free hand. The only regret that you had was that you couldn’t see the expression on his face. You have paid money to be able to see what his face looked like.
Casually, you walked into the kitchen acting as though you didn’t see him. You had no idea what you were going to do in the kitchen. After standing still for a moment, you opened the refrigerator to look for some mystery item that would catch your eye. You had been pawing through the refrigerator for all of three seconds when you heard Regulus’ voice.
“One question, is that my shirt?”

Re your post about the new Harry Potter series, considering you're such a Sirius Black fan would you not want a Marauders series?
lol nope.
You'd think I would want this, and I'm aware that there are many many people who do want a "Marauders" era prequel. But there are many reasons as to why it wouldn't work. Here are some.
This fandom is hella divisive and argumentative at the best of times. This can be a good thing, don't get me wrong. Different opinions are a good thing. But so often this fandom fails to discuss them respectfully, often resorting to just insulting the other side or shouting insults. The fandom surrounding MWPP has so many sides with people very devoted to their side - whichever side a potential TV show decides to portray, there will only be a small amount of the fandom satisfied by it.
Now lets get into the more detailed issues with a MWPP series.
1) James Potter vs Severus Snape.
If we end up with a show that outright depicts James + his friends bullying Snape (or other students), we'll have an argument about whether or not Snape deserved it, whether it's bias against Snape, MWPP fans complaining about showing their shady side, and arguments on posts that I can already see myself hastily scrolling past in which both sides are shouting at each other over who is right. It's exhausting enough already, without an official on-screen depiction to squabble over.
2) Wolfstar
Ships are great. Ships are fine. Ship who you want. You have that freedom. But there are people who like to declare their ship as canon simply because they like it so much or because there is a slither of canon "evidence". Wolfstar is one of those ships. If a prospective TV show decides to stick with canon and not confirm wolfstar, or worst still, give either character a potential love interest other than each other, there will be uproar from some areas of the wolfstar ship. Likewise, if they do push the boat out and decide to go for wolfstar, or perhaps just hint at it, there will be uproar from the anti-wolfstar community. Once again, it just comes down to the fact that this fandom so often fails to have a polite debate or conversation.
3) Casting
The lack of official on-screen material on the MWPP era means that there is a lot of fancasting for characters from that era. Which is a good thing! I do it myself, sometimes. It's a great feeling when you find an actor/person and think "Omg it's *insert name here*!" There are some very popular fancasts for the MWPP characters (Off the top of my head, Ben Barnes for Sirius, Andrew Garfield for Remus, Timothee Chalamet for Regulus and that other guy who is always shown as James in the same group whose name I cannot remember), but the reality is that these actors are extremely unlikely to be cast in these roles in any official movie/series. Aside from the people in charge perhaps just not seeing them as the right fit, the images and clips that people use for these actors as their characters are from films that are about a decade old. The actors are not young 20-somethings who can get away with playing teenagers anymore. This is perfectly logical, but I can already see it fuelling criticism about whoever is cast in the roles that fans are so loyal to seeing their fancasts playing. Endless "This actor isn't right, THIS actor should have been cast instead!" posts incoming.
4) Abusive Blacks
Oh boy. The cherry on the cake. You all know how much I dislike the headcanon that Sirius's parents were physically abusive towards him. That's just my persona preference. If a potential show or film decided to roll with this angle then I would not be the biggest fan for sure, but oh well. But this is just yet another example of an area of the MWPP fandom which is so divisive. If they show the Blacks as beating Sirius or cursing him til he's almost dead, then there will be people in favour and people against. Likewise if they don't show this, there will be people either saying this is a good thing or saying they're "going against canon" (abusive Blacks isn't canon, deal with it). Posts on the matter will quickly dissolve into name calling and shouts of "abuse apologist". Fun times.
5) Peter
I personally have a bit of a thing about people who deliberately erase Peter from works on MWPP. Yes he turned out to be a traitor and a bad guy, but you can't deny he was there all together. He was there, he was their friend, and he was very much a part of the story. But that's just me. Ultimately, Peter's divisiveness means that any characterisation in any prequel movie/series will surely be judged harshly depending on how people choose to view him, regardless of canon. The writers will have a nightmare of a time trying to satisfy an audience which all share very differing opinions as to how a younger Peter should be portrayed on screen. I would not envy their task of trying to get the balance right.
In summary, there are so many reasons as to why a MWPP would just be far too divisive to be successful, in my view. Too many topics that the fandom can never agree over, too much potential for outcries of "This angle/actor/storyline is wrong", "The writers are being disloyal to canon", "This is basically canon why are you refusing to acknowledge it?", the list goes on. I feel like any potential enjoyment to be gained from a show would ultimately be tainted by how much arguing every little aspect would trigger. And for that reason, I feel like we never will get any official on-screen prequel from this era. What production company/producer/writer/actor/literally anyone involved would want to take on such a project?
*drops mic* *sips tea* *stands up* *leaves room* *closes door*

Veterinary staff are a beautiful mixture of factual-thinking and intense superstition.
Don’t ever remark on how smoothly the anaesthetic’s going, don’t ever assume the “just a booster” appointment will take 10 minutes, and for the love of God don’t even think about saying the Q-word.

Netflix should do a tv show about the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black.
We will still get the marauders. But it will be from Sirius’ point of view and that's much more interesting.
And we would also get the full story of Andromeda and Bellatrix and Narcisa, and we would also get the story of Walburga and her husband and Sirius’ uncle. We would get Regulus.
We would get Sirius x Marlene, Lucissa, Rudolphus x Bella x Tom Riddle, maybe a Regulus x OC, a dash of Jilly and Remus’ unrequited feelings for Lily. We could get Snape from Sirius’ POV but also from Regulus’ (maybe they were besties). We could get Scabior (as Regulus’ friend).
Making a TV show about the Blacks would be the best from a storytelling point of view since they were connected to everything, much more than the Potters. We'd get insights into the lives of the Black Eaters, cool Slytherins, black magic, light magic, First Order of the Phoenix, etc.
We could even follow them after the HP books start because the books weren't that focused on them anyway. Especially Andromeda and Narcissa.
Come to think of it since Molly is Sirius’ relative, we could get a her and Arthur’s story as well. Maybe she was Andromeda’s best friend and older sister figure.

Harry Potter Needs To Step It Up
I think we all saw that Percy Jackson is being turned into a tv series with Disney +. We all know that no matter what, Harry Potter is THE most iconic movie franchise. Wizarding World has movies, books, a broadway play, apps, games, and even a damn theme park. But it has been lacking recently. The Fantastic Beasts movie franchise is not doing well. They have released two movies, they’re working on the third one, and JK Rowling has said that she plans for there to be five movies in the franchise. The problem is that Harry Potter will start to fade if all the content we have is fantastic beasts, especially with all of the new young adult content happening. I mean come on, The Raven Cycle is becoming an SYFY series, Shadow & Bone along with the Narnia series are becoming a Netflix original, not to mention The Hunger Games getting a prequel movie, AND there have been talks for a Divergent tv series as well. The Harry Potter universe has never had serious competition until now. The problem is the decisions being made. Fantastic Beasts should not have been made. Another faulty decision was hiring Johnny Depp and killing off Zoe Kravitz's character, which pretty much saved the second movie. Another good thing about Crimes Of Grindewald besides Leta Lestrange, was going back to Hogwarts. I think we all miss Hogwarts. These are some ideas I think that would make Harry Potter rise to the top again and not be overtaken by Percy Jackson, because let's be honest, Disney + can do that subpar book series justice. Feel free to post some ideas as well.
1) Wrap up the Fantastic Beasts franchise with this third one and end it as a trilogy. The movie will be set in Brazil and will introduce the south America wizarding school “Castelobruxo”. It terrifies me to see what JK will cook up involving Latinx culture. Just end it there and start working on new ideas that will both satisfy old fans and entice new fans.
2) Marauders tv series or movies produced by Warner Bros or HBO max. Let's be honest, if there were ever to be a prequel following Harry Potter, it should be the Marauders. We barely got Marauders content from the books, yet its one of the most popular sub fandoms in the Harry Potter franchise. Imagine a series following James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, and Lily getting into Hogwarts and their adventures leading to them discovering Remus being a werewolf, James and Lily slow burn, Sirius struggling with his family legacy and being heir, and Remus trying to hide being a werewolf. Show me what led to Peter betraying his friends. Show me what Sirius and Regulus were like together. Each season/movie would be a year. At the end of season 1, Bellatrix Black (because we’ll see Sirius’ family obviously, The noble and most ancient house of Black is iconic) join Voldemort which leads to a spin-off or original series
3) Voldemorts rising. A show or movie being spun off from the Marauders and following how he rose up in power through the wizarding world pureblood circles. How he managed to becoming the most terrifying thing wizards have seen. What did he do, who did he betray, etc.
3) Cursed Child movie. I have never seen the play. I do not intend to see it. The son of Harry Potter and the son of Draco Malfoy time traveling and wreaking havoc but a play? There is no way a play can do that justice. A movie would be so, so much better. I want the original Harry Potter actors reprising their role, Albus struggling with being a Slytherin in a Gryffindor house (reverse of Sirius’ life). His cousins having issues and him being forced to live in the shadow of his father, mother, and brother. Give me Scorpius struggling with being related to death eaters and his father being a major piece of shit. Make it bright, make it bold. No more dark colors. I want Teddy Lupin, I want all the Weasley/Potter cousins. I want a wild adventure with humor. Think of a marvel movie.
4) A new book. Not play, not illustrated (although please keep them coming), a new book. I don’t care what happens but we need a new book or book series. Maybe what happens a couple of years with Harry and his friends since the battle of Hogwarts. I would give everything I own for a Marauders book series. Just no more Fantastic Beasts or people we have never heard of. A book on the Noble and Most Ancient House Of Black would also be acceptable.

Blog Post: On Fan Fiction and Other Storytelling Traditions
When I was twelve or thirteen years old, and even our family finally had DSL internet, I discovered the joys of fan fiction. In case you haven’t been living under the same rock as I have, allow me to explain. “Fan fiction” refers to stories written by enthusiasts of a particular book, TV show, or other creative work. While most “fics” – as my friends and I would call them – take place within the particular universe of the original story, others take known characters and put them in an entirely new setting. (That’s how 50 Shades of Grey was born.) There’s also fan fiction that doesn’t deliberately draw on any work but revolves around real, famous people in imagined situations. (See Graham Norton and Daniel Radcliffe discuss this type on the former’s show.)
The stories that interested me ranged from shorter “one shots” to multi-chapter epics, but most were placed in the Harry Potter universe and nearly all were tales of romance – if you could call it that.
The pairings I read about (and often ‘shipped’ – a verb that comes from the ‘ship’ in ‘relationship’ and means “hoped would bang”) – whether true to canon (i.e. the original books), such as Lily and James Potter, or wildly inventive, such as Hermione and a Tom Riddle to whom she has traveled back in time – usually engaged in the kind of love/hate banter that sends real couples to therapy. The pair would glare at and insult each other (often employing strangely American turns of phrase for a pair of ostensible Brits), their apparent mutual disgust hiding a deeper attraction. For my friends and I, it was riveting stuff.
While I was mainly a Lily/James shipper myself, you can’t talk about Harry Potter fan fiction and not mention Dramione. The fan-invented romance between Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger was a tale of forbidden passion, a defiance of Hogwarts housing norms and the mandates of Potter canon itself. Draco did need to be less of a whiny loser to be a deserving match for Hermione, but this could be arranged without too much trouble. In the fan fiction world, Draco was dark and brooding, and he didn’t bring his dad up in conversation quite as often as in the books. Hermione was clever and empathetic, and although she was rarely depicted with less than Yule Ball-level beauty, her looks were not her main characteristic.
Sometimes fan fiction Draco and Hermione fell for each other while at Hogwarts. In other fics, they met again under changed circumstances years after the fall of Voldemort. Then there were the AU fics in which a brilliant young paralegal named Hermione Granger begins work at the firm where successful lawyer Draco Malfoy practices. You get the idea.
Tumblr media
Photoshop creations starring Tom Felton and Emma Watson (no credit belongs to me). The purple one in particular has stayed in my memory for years, and brings on a familiar feeling of excitement at all the great content to peruse in the world. It was the banner for a website that allowed fans to nominate and vote for their favorite Dramione fics.
A particularly sexy iteration of the Draco/Hermione story was called Water by kissherdraco. In it, Draco and Hermione are Head Boy and Girl at Hogwarts. Of course, this means that they must live sequestered in their own dormitory, with its own entrance, common room and adjoining bathroom that ensure they see each other in a state of partial undress when the story demands it.
Water was held by many to be the pinnacle of the genre. It had lust and angst in equal measure, executed with a liberal dose of swear words and aggression. Moreover, Water took the common flaws of the Dramione world’s characters and actually explored them, allowing character to drive plot. In the story, Draco is brooding and cruel as ever, but these traits are linked to vicious abuse at the hands of Lucius. This backstory is not seen as an excuse for Draco’s behavior and he is forced to grow and change as the story progresses (although not quite enough, tbh).
I never finished the story, perhaps because my young brain was alarmed by all the hate-sex, but I revisited it with curiosity for this piece. Here is a relatively benign excerpt from the text, although please skip if you’d rather avoid themes of physical dominance:
“You’re crying,” growled Draco, leaning in and flicking his tongue onto her cheek. He tasted salt.
She struggled then, and he brought his hands to her shoulders to hold her still. “Don’t, Granger,” he warned. “I fucking need this. I can’t fucking…” He trailed off.
He never would have noticed before. Not like he did now, at least. Her lips were wet. They were red and moist and magnificently ripened for him. So full of blood. Hot, heated, sullied blood. He couldn’t take his eyes off them.
Other fics situated romance within a larger plot about the politics of the wizarding world. Prelude to Destiny by AnotherDreamer took place in the Marauder era (i.e. the time of Harry’s parents) and focused on the coming-of-age of Lily Evans and her role in the battle against evil. It begins, “Two cultures and a thousand miles from you, there is a castle on a hill…”
Another fave began life under the title Ancient and Most Noble and is now called Druella Black’s Guide to Womanhood. It is about the diverging lives of the three Black sisters — Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa — in the early years of Voldemort’s power. The sisters confront the crumbling of the their easy closeness as they make different choices in a changing world.
”It’ll be a laugh, you’ll see,” Bellatrix whispered into her ear, her breath sweet and thick from wine. They were curled in the cool grass, tangled in the layers upon layers of lace and satin that were their dress robes; it had taken them an hour to get them on right and just ten minutes to unsettle them. Andromeda’s head was spinning: from the liquor, from the heat, from far too much dancing. “It’ll all be just like this,” Bella was murmuring, her lips brushing against her ear. Stars whirled by overhead, maybe close enough to touch. Close enough to try.
“Always just like this.”
Andromeda swore as she stepped off the train. From inside the nicely cool travel car, summer had looked so charming, green and bright and gloriously school-free…
I was most interested in these fics, the ones that revolved around the generations before Harry’s. There was something compelling about the knowledge of forthcoming tragedy for many of the characters…Plucked away from the happy ending of the books, these fics became an exploration of why life is meaningful even in its flawed and finite scope.
I look back on my fan fiction experiences as belonging to a beautiful time when the internet was less like Janet from The Good Place* (if Janet were selling everything she knew about us to profit-hungry corporations and belligerent, militarized governments), and more like a library you went to when you felt like checking out a book. Nobody knew what I ate and where I went every minute of the day, because I didn’t put that stuff online, nor did I (to my knowledge) carry a tracking device with me when I went downstairs to play with my friends. At 5 pm, our moms would have to call each friend’s landline to reach us and remind us to stop home for our daily glass of milk or what-have-you.

*Janet is a humanoid presence in the afterlife who holds all knowledge in the universe and can create objects out of the void.
Fan fiction was a commerce-free creative space – devoid of ad revenue and the quick accumulation of likes. Since there was neither money nor social capital to be gained, everyone who participated did so out of pure interest. One did have the hope of raking in reviews from other community members, but these were about more than validation; reviews allowed people to have conversations about a shared passion and often included constructive criticism along with praise. There was little need for bitterness – if a fic was well-written, everybody won, since it meant they got to read it.
Below are some examples from the reviews section of Prelude to Destiny. It’s certainly no Twitter.
Written by rach on chapter #13. (March 28th 2009, 5am) Hey,
So I’ve read your whole story before, and now I’m reading it again, because I saw it spotlighted on the site. And this chapter is amazing. I love the end…I’ve never (well, before I read this the first time) compared Lily to Mrs Crouch. But it’s so true. They both gave their lives for their sons and…this chapter is phenomenal. Just thought I’d let you know

Written by Smith on chapter #26. (April 29th 2008, 11am)
…If I am to find any fault in the story, then I should say that Remus was rather dull. Not that it was completely out of character, but I imagine him being funnier and also good Lily’s friend. Their friendship is mentioned by Lupin in the third film and, I should think, in the book as well, though I don’t have a copy right now and thus can’t provide a quote. Pity, that. [Given my extensive knowledge of canon, I can tell you that the reviewer is mistaken on this last point.]
Thank you very much for writing this story. Reading it was an enjoyable experience that I might repeat in the future. You’re brilliant, to put it short.
Author Response: Thanks for the review!Yeah, Remus was a bit dull. Actually, I didn’t intend for Lily to be friends with any of the marauders besides James. I just wanted them out of the way. But I know what you mean. After Sirius entered the story, Remus was even duller in comparison. Plus, I wanted to make Peter seem like he fit in, and Remus just fell by the wayside, you know?I’m enjoying writing Gertrude again after taking over a story from my friend who used my characters. Anyway, thanks again!Miranda
For me, too, fandom was a more than a casual hobby. Since I was only allowed an hour of internet use a day, I would spend the time copying and pasting chapter after chapter of fan fiction onto Microsoft Word, allowing me to read all I wanted later. (As you might imagine, Water was not stored on the family computer.) I remember scouring for new fics on fanfiction.net and clicking through page after page of fan art on deviantart.com (both of which retain their early-2000s layouts, unlike Mugglenet or JK Rowling’s official site), very differently from how I scroll through Instagram today. I admired works of fandom the way one appreciates springtime’s first flower, or the décor of a friend’s bedroom – I admired the stamp of individuality they bore and that inspired me to create something myself, to express my joys and sorrows, to be a part of the world.
Tumblr media
RIP old websites
When I did put Harry Potter-inspired art out there, somewhere around age fourteen, it was of course in the form of fan fiction, writing being my weapon of choice. I wrote two one-shot pieces, one funny and the other sad — or such were my intentions, though perhaps the results were inverted. While some friends wrote longer stories, I never felt talented or inspired enough to commit, which is a typical self-doubting move of the kind I am trying to leave behind. (I now plan to write no matter how untalented and uninspired I may be.)
One piece was about a character of my own invention, a Slytherin guy with the requisite pure-blood, Dark magic-loving family, and a perky, ponytailed Huffelpuff girl on whom he develops an obsessive crush. It was intended to be a BBC-inspired mockery of the character, taking all the gloomy sexiness of the Dramione universe and making it ridiculous. It was also a thorough exploration of really wanting to make out with somebody sitting in the same classroom as you, not that I’d know anything about that myself.
The other short story was a sincere ode to the books and an exploration of some of their core questions on death and loss. It followed Harry in an imagined scene that takes place (SPOILER ALERT lol) after Dumbledore’s death in the Half-Blood Prince. Harry is climbing the steps to the Owlery with a package in his hand, thinking over his relationship with Dumbledore. As I wrote, I found that I absolutely had to include excerpts from a fairly unexpected source, a chapter in the first and most overlooked of the Harry Potter books. The chapter is “The Mirror of Erised,” whose titular object reveals to the onlooker their deepest desire.
“Professor Dumbledore. Can I ask you something?”
“Obviously, you’ve just done so,” Dumbledore smiled. “You may ask me one more thing, however.”
“What do you see when you look in the mirror?”
“I? I see myself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks.” Harry stared. “One can never have enough socks,” said Dumbledore. “Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn’t get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”
It was only when he was back in bed that it struck Harry that Dumbledore might not have been quite truthful.
In my story, Harry gazes out at the Forbidden Forest for a little while, wondering who Dumbledore had been behind the mask of calm wisdom and pondering the burden of those left alive and grieving. Harry then ties the package he’s been holding to Hedwig’s arm and sends her off, chuckling a little through tears. In the last line it is revealed that – OMG – he has just sent off a pair of thick, woolen SOCKS. To DUMBLEDORE. Even though Dumbledore is DEAD. Isn’t that profound?
Two years later, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released, and to my complete surprise, it delved deep into some of the questions about Dumbledore that had tumbled out of me, stream-of-consciousness-like, in the story I wrote. The text even includes part of the above excerpt from “The Mirror of Erised”. At the outset of Deathly Hallows, Harry learns that Dumbledore’s childhood was a difficult one, the true details of which remain murky and contested by his admirers and critics. Harry regrets never having asked Dumbledore about his past, but recalls that, after all, the one personal question he had asked Dumbledore was not answered honestly…
While writing my story, I had imagined Harry’s pain and longing to know Dumbledore better. Because fan fiction allowed me to externalize my interpretation of the text, the questions in my mind took on concrete form. Their answers, when the next book presented them, became all the more striking and emotionally impactful. It was as though I had written a letter to the series of books that had shaped me and received, in a way, a gentle but meaningful response.
In 2004, JK Rowling released a statement about the phenomenon of fan fiction. She was flattered by fans’ desire to write about her characters, and her only caveats were that fan fiction should remain suitable for children (unfortunately that ship had already sailed, and Water was truly the least of it), as well as a non-commercial activity so that fans’ creative pursuits would remain unexploited. Other authors have not been as accepting, and have asked for fan fiction based on their work to be removed from popular websites. After all, in our current world, a story is classified as property. A sentence, a verse, a character’s name, can belong to someone the same way as the furniture in their house and the dollar figure in their bank account.
In the long history of storytelling, however, ownership is a relatively recent idea. Bear with me while I make an analogy – in pre-industrial Britain, every town had a commons, an area of land where anyone could gather firewood, take their cattle to graze, or hunt and fish to supplement a year of poor harvest. Storytelling has historically functioned as a kind of commons of ideas, one that anyone could pull from when the time came to tell a tale. Want to warn your kid against going near a well? Tell them about the hungry demon that lives in it. Were you hired to entertain a crowd at a wedding? Maybe you dust off an old poem about a prince and princess who meet one evening in the forest but spend years apart, not knowing each others’ true identity until it turns out they were betrothed all along.
Nobody invented well-dwelling monsters or estranged lovers for the first time – they simply existed in a shared cultural space, available when needed (or when it was particularly enjoyable to use them), ready to be shaped into something new and old at the same time. Even today, no one questions the use of familiar tropes in books and movies; we know that all storytelling involves a certain amount of borrowing and repetition, and we deem this acceptable as long as the storyteller has put an adequately original spin on the themes they utilize. The legal line is drawn once you get to the particulars – character names, or sentences and dialogue. These must be brand spanking new if you want to avoid a lawsuit and getting dropped by your publishers. (Does anyone else remember How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild, and Got a Life?)
But for thousands of years, people told and re-told stories of beloved and familiar characters, not just unnamed archetypes – characters like Odysseus and Arjuna, Gilgamesh and King Arthur. The Sanskrit Mahabharata (Maha-BHA-rata) an epicly long, genre-defying story from South Asia, especially challenges the idea of a single, canonical text (much like other ancient story traditions from the subcontinent). It was told so many times by so many people that modern-day folks are not always able to agree on what the Mahabharata even is. The story is like a vast ocean — recognizable to all, but appears different depending on where you happen to be standing.
In the 20th century, some scholars collected Mahabharata manuscripts from all over the subcontinent, extracted the most commonly occurring parts to form a text, and detailed the many variations of each verse in footnotes that turned out longer than the text itself. No one can quite agree whether to treat this resulting (multi-volume) “Critical Edition” as the essential Sanskrit Mahabharata tradition, or as some kind of strange, post-colonial Mahabharata scrapbook. All this so that whenever somebody wrote an essay about the story, there was a single text, pieced together as it was, to use as a point of reference. (My Bachelor’s thesis was one of the lesser works of this scholarly genre.)
The plot of the Mahabharata goes like this: The five Pandava brothers, namely the prone-to-gambling leader Yudhishthira, morally-conflicted archer Arjuna, lovable beefcake Bhima, and something-to-do-with-horses twins Nakula and Sachdeva, along with their badass wife Draupadi, are exiled from their kingdom and forced into a year of disguise after a rigged dice game that Yudhishthira loses, and in which Draupadi is stripped and humiliated before a hall full of men. Eventually the Pandavas regain what they lost through a bloody war that leaves both sides devastated and questioning the point of all this conflict. The End.
Does my summary reflect my biases a little bit? For somebody else, the Pandavas might be perfect heroes, Draupadi a whiny ungrateful shrew who won’t stop yelling at them. To me, she is the moral backbone of the Pandavas, unafraid to call for what she feels is right even as everyone around her takes the coward’s way out of trouble.
Tumblr media
Interpretations of Draupadi from various traditions
But it’s not just me who has a take on the story: the Mahabharata itself reflects a range of interacting and conflicting views, which might indicate that people from various backgrounds heard it and were able, in some way, to influence it. For example, although the text generally upholds hierarchies of caste and gender, it also pulls at the listener’s heartstrings with stories of characters who must confront these oppressive norms.
There’s Amba, who is stolen from her future-husband at her wedding and rejected by him when she manages to return; she later chooses to be re-born as a man in order to kill her kidnapper in battle. There’s Ekalavya, the talented archer from a forest tribe who trains with the Pandavas in youth and asks to prove his devotion to his archery guru any way he can; the guru, who favors the upper-caste prince Arjuna, asks Ekalavya to cut off his right thumb. There’s Kunti, who finds herself pregnant after an illicit affair with a god and places her baby, Karna, in a river; Karna is adopted by a lower-caste charioteer couple and goes on to fight against Kunti’s legitimate sons in the great battle that destroys the universe. And there’s Satyavati, whose husband/baby daddy pretends not to recognize her in front of his kingly court but gets completely schooled on how not to be an asshole.
“You know very well [who I am], your majesty; why do you say that you don’t, lying like a common man? Your heart knows the truth, and knows your lie. A man who does something wrong thinks, ‘No one knows me,’ but the gods know. If you do not do what I ask, your head will burst into a hundred pieces.” She discoursed at length on the reasons why a man should honor his wife, quoting the dharma texts.
(from The Ring of Truth: And Other Myths of Sex and Jewelry by Wendy Doniger)
Perhaps, among the traveling bards and indulgent grandmas who told the Mahabharata over centuries, there were some who identified or empathized with the pain of oppression and through whom otherwise-marginalized voices could ring out into the millennia.
The many Mahabharatas, along with the many conversations inside the Mahabharata, illustrate how the human imagination is prolific and messy, not content with merely absorbing information but impelled to remake, to take inspiration, to create, create, create. Isn’t that what happens when we read? We see the world we are reading about in our own way. We make up something in our own head as we go along, and that’s where the entertainment lies. The book itself is but a wonderful tool.
Perhaps if I had a right-wing patron who paid me to tell stories, I would tell the Mahabharata a little differently from how I do here, focusing on how the Pandavas were self-made men or how the ethnic minorities they killed were thieving encroachers. Or if I were telling the story to children, I might leave out anything particularly frightening. In the telling of a story, the will and whims of the teller have influence, as do those of the listener (or reader) and the financial benefactor (or publishing house).
What remains inevitable, however, is that rarely is a story told the same way twice. Even in our post-printing press, post-internet world, where stories are replicated identically again and again, we continue to dissect, analyze, and change them, whether it be through everyday conversations, online forums, or the prestige lens of a critic’s review. (A perfect example is the adaptation of works from one medium into another, be it from literature to film or from film to theater.) Sometimes the authors themselves continue to tweak and interpret their work – Virginia Wolf was known to make changes to her books prior to reprinting, and we all know that JK Rowling can’t leave the Potter universe well enough alone (love you Jo!).
For me, fan fiction is a grand storytelling and textual tradition not entirely unlike the Mahabharata. Fan fiction not only illustrates the malleable, generative nature of stories, it also provides a rare space, in our capitalist global economy, for storytelling to be that malleable, generative thing it has always been. It allows for democratic engagement in the storytelling traditions of our time, free from the boxes of profit and ownership. It lets us expand the possibilities of our collective imagination. Importantly, it allows voices from the margins into the story, where our canonical texts routinely fail us.
I’m also thankful to fan fiction for being a rare space, outside overpriced college English classes, where literary discussion can thrive. When I say discussion, I don’t mean mere binary criticism – like book reviews, or the Goodreads star rating-aggregates that help determine book sales. I mean questions about how a text makes you feel, what it reflects or critiques about our world, the things that literary characters, beloved and abhorred, may teach us about our shared humanity and flawed choices. And yes, some of these conversations involve Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy as co-Heads of Hogwarts, using the same bathroom.
Are you a reader or writer of fan fiction? Have you you dabbled in fan art? Or do you engage in a non-online form of fandom, like a book club? Please share!
Thanks for reading.

Harry Potter AU Characters Part 3
This is my opinion on what characters from other tv and movies shows would be like in Harry Potter.
Gifs not mine
Matthew Ryan James “Matt” Murdock
Tumblr media
-Blood Status: Muggleborn
-House: Gryffindor
-Best Class(es): Defense Against the Dark Arts
-Wand: Fifteen inches, Ebony, Dragon Heartstring
-Patronus: Phoenix
-Quidditch: Keeper
-Bio: Born to a muggle, boxer father and a mother who left at the earliest chance to become a nun. Matt was well on his way to becoming a muggle lawyer when he got his letter three weeks before his eleventh birthday. His father was surprised and proud. He had a wizard for a son, how many people could say that. But the summer before third year, when they were getting Matt’s supplies, the Apothecary blew up because of a bomb Death Eaters planted. Everyone (including Matt’s father) except Matt was killed. Matt was only blinded permanently. In fifth year, Matt made it onto the Quidditch team as keeper. Even though he could not see, the chemicals that blinded him enhanced his other senses. After Hogwarts, Matt became a wizard lawyer and a proud member of the Order of Phoenix to combat the Dark Lord and Death Eaters for the pain they had caused him and his father.

While on the train in first year, he met another Muggleborn by the name of Matt Murdock. They became best friends and have been inseparable since. At the start of fifth year Foggy became the commentator for almost every Quidditch game. “And another fifty points to Gryffindor, this slimy Slytherins will never catch up.” “Mr. Nelson” After Matt becomes blind, Foggy is very supportive and is there for him. Even going so fas as to offer for Matt to stay with him over the summer, of course, Foggy’s parents agree and take Matt in as a son. After Hogwarts, Foggy becomes a Wizarding lawyer and he and Matt open up “Nelson and Murdock: Attorney’s at Law.” He also joins the Order of Phoenix and uses precautionary measures to make sure that his parents are kept safe.

The sorting hat sorted him into Ravenclaw for his wit and intellect. He has many friends, but one o his best friends is Tony Stark, a boy in his brother’s year that gave him the nickname Vision. He is very close to his brother, Sirius and his friends as well, especially James. He often tags along with them to make up the fifth Marauder. After Hogwarts, he joined the Order of Phoenix with his eldest brother, much to the disappointment of his parents. He became close with James and Lily and their son, Harry. When they were killed he could not believe that it was his brother’s fault and was even more devastated when his brother was sent to Azkaban. He was given Harry to watch over and raise as James had specified that if anything happened to him, Lily, or Sirius, that Harry should go to Vision.

In return when his mother, Alicia, gave birth to him, she named Charles after his father. When Charles received his letter on his eleventh birthday, his mother was overjoyed and took him to Diagon Alley immediately to buy his supplies. The sorting hat barely touched his head before it called out Ravenclaw. He was very studios and received outstandings in all of his classes. In fourth year he tried out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and became a chaser. In sixth year, he became a prefect and in seventh a head boy. After Hogwarts, he became the professor of Ancient Runes at the school and a member of the Order of Phoenix.

When he heard the fighting, he couldn’t help but peek through the door, and when he did so, he saw both his parents die. When his Uncle came to get him, he told Erik to close his eyes, but Erik didn’t listen and saw his parents bodies, causing him to be scarred for the rest his his life. From then on he lived with his Uncle Garrick above his wand shop on Diagon Alley. When he received his letter two weeks before his eleventh birthday, his uncle allowed him to pick out his own wand. He was quickly sorted into Slytherin and excelled at Potions. In third year, he tried out for the Slytherin Quidditch team and became a beater. In his fourth year, he met his best friend Charles Xavier, who taught him how to play wizard’s chess. After Hogwarts he decided to join the Death Eaters but regretted his decision afterwards. In his third year, he tried out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and became a chaser. He was known as a hothead throughout the school due to his short temper and often got into fist fights with other students, specifically Slytherin. Especially when soneone picked on his little bother. In fifth year, he was able to conjure a true patronus, it was a salmon. “A salmon, really? That’s not even interesting or cool.” After Hogwarts he became an Auror and joined the Order of Phoenix where he met his wife, Marian. They had two children, Noah and Vincent, who were eventually sent off to school.
 Sean Emmett Cassidy
Tumblr media
-Blood Status: Muggleborn
-House: Hufflepuff

-Quidditch: Chaser
-Bio: Sean received his letter just two days before his eleventh birthday. Both of his parents were pleasantly surprised and overjoyed that he was a wizard. He was quickly sorted into Hufflepuff and excelled at Transfiguration. (Although he thinks he excelled at it because he was scared of Professor McGonagall.) He often would help Peeves the Poltergeist with his pranks and mischief and would get in trouble for it often. In fourth year, he tried out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and became on of their Chasers, although he does not like his fellow chaser and co-captain, Sam. He finds him too uptight. They glare at each other often from across the field. The Hufflepuff Quidditch team are taking bets on how long it will take until one of them explodes. After Hogwarts, he becomes partners with Clint and they open a small broom and Quidditch shop on Diagon Alley. He also joins the Order of Phoenix.
Raven Victoria Darkholme
Tumblr media
-Blood Status: Pureblood
-House: Slytherin
-Best Class(es): Charms
-Wand: Eleven inches, Ebony, Dragon Heartstring
-Quidditch: Chaser
-Bio: Born to a pureblood family, her parents left her with her aunt, who married a muggle professor. She was given to her aunt because she was a Metamorphmagus and they considered that a disgrace. She became Charles’ sister. They were very close growing up but grew apart as they got older. She was sorted into Slytherin almost immediately although she pleaded with the hat to put her into Ravenclaw so she could be with Charles. She grew close with Erik after meeting him. She was actually the one who introduced Charles to Erik. She excelled at Charms and became chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team in her third year. After Hogwarts, she joined the Order of Phoenix even though Erik pleaded with her to join him and the Death Eaters so that she would be safe. After Erik got out of Azkaban, they met again and started dating. They had three children, Elliot, Oliver, and Gracelyn, all of them wizards and Gracelyn was a Metamorphmagus like her mother.

-Best Class(es): Arithmancy
-Wand: Eleven inches, Chestnut, Unicorn Hair
-Quidditch: Screaming Bystander
-Bio: The younger brother of Alex, Scott got his letter two days before his eleventh birthday when Alex was in fourth year. His best class was Arithmancy, just because he could goof off in class and then do the work after. He was an avid bystander during Quidditch games and often made the people around him go deaf from all of his screaming. “YEAH, ALEX. KICK THEIR SLIMY SLYTHERIN ASSES! SHOW THEM WHAT YOU’RE MADE OF!” which eared a lot of dirty looks from other students in the area. He constantly got into detention for picking fights with the kids in his grade especially if they made fun of his friends or the fact that he wore glasses almost all the time due to a disease that he had. After Hogwarts, Scott joined the Order of Phoenix as well as become a Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
