Soooo I’m also writing another Hatchetfield fic.
I can’t get the idea of a Nobody Dies AU out of my head. Where Paul is Richie’s uncle.
In a timeline where Max survived the fall, but badly broke his leg. Can the gang learn to forgive him? Is he truly committed to change?
Also an excuse for me to imagine the Nerds’ home lives. A lot of headcanons, angst, hurt and comfort, fluff, domestic life, and eventual romances.
I’m having so much fun writing it!

Round 1: Married Before Dating vs. Nobody Dies AU
Married Before Dating:
Due to hijinks, your characters ended up being married (I suppose this could be literal or a case of “yeah they’re basically married”) before they are even in a relationship! Maybe they never end up in a relationship, maybe this is a way for them to realize their feelings for each other :0
Nobody Dies AU:
Is your favorite character Doomed By The Narrative? Have no fear, with the power of fanworks, you can imagine them happy and healthy 😊

Happy Friday! My prompt is " are you feeling okay? " for Kallian and whoever you like!
I finally got round to this one! Thank you for sending ^-^
rated t for language. 458 words. post-joining in my nobody dies* au - mainly kallian & nelaros, some implied kallian & daveth. for @dadrunkwriting.
▪──── ⚔ ────▪▪──── ⚔ ────▪▪──── ⚔ ────▪
Kallian's head hurt. Woodsmoke filled her nose and stung her eyes. Everything was too loud and muffled all at once. She blinked slowly, her vision swimming, and startled when she saw a man staring down at her.
"Oh good, you're awake!" It took her a second to register that voice as belonging to Alistair. "How do you feel?"
She sat up slowly, wincing at the sharp throb in the back of her head. She went to feel it instinctively, and though there was a small lump, she thankfully didn't seem to be bleeding.
"I feel like shit," she breathed, rubbing her face.
"Ah, yes, sorry about that, I tried to catch you but um... you fell rather quickly," Alistair said sheepishly, holding out his hand to help her up. She took it, swayed a little, unsteady, but soon enough everything came into focus. A little too much focus.
Kallian's gaze snapped to Alistair, who shifted uncomfortably under the attention. She stared at him, squinting in confusion and suspicion.
"Why do you..." she mumbled. "It feels like I can..."
Understanding dawned on his face. "That would be the-"
"Kallian!"
A shiver went down her spine as she felt him before whipping around in his direction. A slender elf barrelled her way, lifting his arms to embrace her as he skidded to a halt, and dropping them awkwardly as he seemed to come to his senses.
"Nelaros," Kallian smiled in relief. Duncan had said that he was okay, officially a Grey Warden as soon as he passed out from whatever vile concoction they'd just drank from the chalice - but it was difficult to see him just collapsed on the ground.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, a crease in his brow as he looked her over from head to toe. She supposed it must have been strange for him too. The first one down, and so she assumed the first to wake. Creators knew what sort of thoughts had been rushing through his head.
"I'll just go and check on the others," Alistair interjected awkwardly from behind, before heading over to where Duncan was talking calmly with a pale, shaking Jory.
"I'm fine," she answered Nelaros politely. "Are you?"
"Yes."
Days of travelling together from Denerim hadn't done much to get rid of the awkwardness between them. But then, Kallian wasn't sure what else could be expected of two strangers whose wedding was utterly scuppered, especially when they were travelling with Daveth.
Daveth.
Kallian spun around out of instinct to search for him, but she knew exactly where to look. Past Nelaros, where Alistair had walked off to, was another... feeling. Daveth stood chatting seriously, leaning against a tent pole.
She sagged in relief.
He'd made it.
They all had.

Why linkspookies nobody dies au is no good
So for those of you who don’t know linkspooky is a user on this blog who writes metas on her interests (mostly anime and superhero comics)she also writes fanfics one of them being a fanfic where no major characters die and it’s absolutely sucks. Now this isn’t to say I hate fanfics where a major character that dies in the series lives (in fact I’m a big fan of the apocryphal ones fanfic extra life)but with a series like jjk this fic rubs me the wrong way now linkspooky has her share of fans and in case someone gets the idea of putting me in an electric chair let me just preface that this is all my opinion and If you enjoy it good for you now let’s begin
Positives
I suppose I’ll start this by saying things I did like about the au that I did like to be fair. The idea of choso seeking out Nobara was an interesting idea that could make for a good dynamic and nice chance of character development for the both of them I give her props for the implication of mai being sexually abused since one of naoya’ s lines implies he did sexually abuse her and the fights during Tyler durden were interesting to read and I liked shigema and I thought and I like expanding on potentially dynamics and characterization that hasn’t been explored in canon
Who wrote this script?!
Now for the negatives one of my biggest annoyances in this au was the dialogue especially in digital love.it felt out of character had way too many references and felt hamfisted at times(and if todo’s lines feel hamfisted and not in a likable over the top way that works with his personality than Houston we have a problem) I know Akutami loves to drop references in his story and I have no problem with other writers doing so in fanfics but the problem with linkspooky’s references is that the things she explicitly references feel out of place in the series I mean Betty and Veronica in jjk that feels very out of place and it isn’t even in the way akutami actually namedrops these things (he does it more like “hey this is like this) so not a fan of the dialogue
Oc more like NOc
Okay screw me for making a lame joke but back to the point.linkspooky like any fanfic character makes oc’s for their stories and I have no problem with ocs the problem is that some of them have no real purpose for existing.here’s what I’m trying say one of linkspooky’s oc’s is li zenin in the story he(political correctness what’s that?) was a survivor of the zenin clan massacre who survived and wants to kill maki as revenge.on paper this sounds like a great concept for a character so your probably thinking what’s wrong with it. Well you see naoya already fulfilled that role in sakurajima naoya comes back as a curse spirit to take revenge on maki and I’m pretty sure this is the narratives way of saying killing the zenin clan was a bad idea when maki admits that killing everyone probably wasn’t the best course of action so li has no real purpose in the narrative.
This is so out of character
So you know how in canon Yuta is a shy and somewhat awkward boy with someone eccentricities and a hidden dark side well in linkspookies au he’s a freaky possessive creep who’s obsessed with maki even when he’s abused by her (I’m not making this up).so if you could probably guess one of my biggest annoyances is the characterization of some of the characters my most disliked ones are the characterization of maki and Yuta’s relationship in canon maki and Yuta have a very close (and possibly romantic) relationship with each other and are always seen together in linkspookies fic through it’s flat out abusive yuta is obsessed with maki and maki treats Yuta like garbage.I get that this is one of those occasions where it’s meant to be abusive but it feels so out of character I know linkspooky might argue that I’m wrong but these are issues they grew out of over the series maki stopped shoving others away an accepted help from others to get stronger many people from the cast agree Yuta got over his possessiveness with the way she sets up their relationship it’s like she’s trying to recreate Shinji and asuka except without everything that made it work and having Yuji be hostile towards chose for being part cursed spirit because (I’m assuming) that it would make a more interesting dynamic that’s like saying nami would be better if she still hated the fish men.making maki into a bad victim, Turing Yuta possessive and making Yuji hate choso it’s almost like she’s allergic to positive character development in this series.I get the sentiment that she prefers relationship’s that have conflict and so do I the problem here is she’s putting it in places where it isn’t needed lady we know you love conflict but there’s a time and place for where it works
The dumbest idea ever
My biggest complaint about her au is that it’s a stupid idea that takes a lot of tension and emotional weight and development out of the series just for the sake of getting a few minor ones some development and honestly I think this post sums up my feelings on the matter
Tumblr media
A lot of the darkest moments in the series that drove me towards it being removed was something I hate because of some “unfinished” dynamic or some “ wasted potential” or some other crap like that for instance she believes that junpei was wasted even through it was obvious from the start he wasn’t going to survive or nanako and mimiko claiming they were only killed for shock value lets see you summon an ancient demon who hold little to no value towards life you expect them to survive or mai her arc was never resolved even though her death was the resolution and don’t even get me started on keeping nanami and Nobara alive you removed the impact the sense of loss the development all because gege didn’t write towards her stupid expectations that came because she decided to fill the basket with too many eggs and acts flabbergasted when they suddenly broke by doing this you take out one of the core themes of jjk that being a jujutsu sorcerer means suffering and this au is made by a person who loves heroes who constantly fail and even criticized Mha for letting Bakugo live and yet somehow thats all gone when it applies to this show it’s all missing maybe I’m overreacting but I just had to get that off my chest thanks for listening

I think there's something to be said for fanfiction that loves canon in a way that’s rude. Like thank you for this wonderful thematic tragedy made out of this character’s entire arc ending in death, it was emotionally and intellectually moving, but also fuck you fuck you fuck you they live, this time and every time they live, they never died, their flaws are not their undoing, actually they have no flaws, actually they save everyone, actually who cares about a story, any story, where this one dies, actually i cared about that story so much i made a new one, actually i cared so much i unmade the old one, you gave me morals and i left them for the mortal, but they’re mine now and i will never let them die, actually thank you, actually fuck you, strongly worded letter to follow
A kiss for canon and spit in its face all at once, it’s great

TW for internalized homophobia and related bad decisions
Steve is 12 and he thinks about finding his soulmate all the time.
You're supposed to find them through touch; your life together will flash in front of your eyes. They're rare, though, soulmates. So rare that most people never find theirs. So rare that some people say they're made up.
Steve wants to be one of the lucky few. He wants it to be a true, unbreakable bond, a love he gets to have forever.
He wonders if he'll find his soulmate at school. He's popular, he thinks. Tommy would say they were popular. But Tommy's definition of popular mostly has to do with the number of kids he can get away with being mean to, and that's not really Steve's deal. Tommy is like a prey animal, the way he can find weaknesses.
There's a new boy at school. Steve doesn't know his name, but they have English together. He's too thin, with huge brown eyes, and all his clothes are too big. His head's been inexpertly shaved and he never looks anybody in the eye. It's only a matter of time before he catches Tommy's interest, and Steve wishes he could stop it somehow, but he's never been good at going against Tommy.
The day comes, of course. They're standing in the hall, the new boy walking towards them, head down, as always. Tommy nudges Steve says, "What a loser."
And Steve shrugs, starts to ask Tommy about football, if the Colts can make the Super Bowl, but the boy is nearing and Tommy is cackling.
"Watch this." Tommy sticks his foot out.
The boy doesn't react fast enough. He falls forward with a bitten off yelp, and Steve moves without really thinking, only knows he can't stand to see him fall. He catches the new kid beneath his armpits, Steve's thumbs brushing the soft skin his arms.
The world around him falls away at the touch.
---
He's sitting on the floor in the band room, Eddie--the boy's name is Eddie--next to him. Eddie's hair is a little longer and Steve's in a green polo he doesn't recognize, and he's never been in the band room in his life. They're leaning into each other and laughing and Eddie's so beautiful.
---
They're in the woods--Skull Rock, Steve thinks. Eddie's hair is curled and frizzed around his chin, and he's laughing, his cheeks pink, his dimples prominent. He tries to pull his hair in front of his face, but it's not long enough yet to reach. Steve is overwhelmed, wants to kiss him so bad. He's never had to wait to kiss someone, or been unsure, or--
He wants to kiss Eddie.
So, he does.
It's hard, desperate, not the first kiss Steve expected, but then they've been waiting for so long.
---
Steve stands in the hallway of Hawkins High. He's wearing a striped, beige short-sleeved polo, and flirting with Nancy Wheeler.
He likes Nancy, she's pretty and smart and fun. And it's easy. He can hold her hand. Can introduce her to his parents. Can take her on dates and kiss her in public.
She bats her big blue eyes at him, and he can't help but kiss her.
He pulls away gently, brushing his thumb against her cheek, and when he looks down the hall, Eddie is there, frozen. His mouth is wide, his eyes glassy.
Steve thinks the way his heart stutters must be what dying feels like.
---
He's sitting on his diving board, facing away from the pool. He smokes a cigarette and there's a bat studded with nails at his feet, what the fuck. Music thuds, shrieks and laughter seep into the cool night air.
He should be playing the gracious host. He should be having a good time. Instead, his eyes search the woods and he taps another smoke out of the pack.
"Harrington?" The voice makes him jump, hand flexing around the bat handle. "It's freezing out. What are you doing?"
He recognizes the voice now, doesn't turn, doesn't respond, can't stand to see another person he let down; another person who could call him bullshit and be 100% correct.
"Do you not have a jacket? C'mon, man."
Something warm settles over his shoulders, and he inadvertently breathes in weed and leather and cedar. He squeezes his eyes shut, like that will make the comforting, familiar scent go away. He'll have to move to shrug off the jacket, though, which would mean acknowledging Eddie's presence.
"Can you at least say something, Harrington? You're freaking me out."
"I'm fine, Ed--Eddie." The nickname falls from his lips too easily. He doesn't miss how Eddie flinches.
His hair is long now, down to his shoulders, brittle looking in the cold. He's wearing a t-shirt and worn flannel, arms wrapped around his chest for warmth now that his jacket is draped over Steve's shoulders.
Steve is an idiot. He's such an idiot. Chasing after Nancy when Eddie is--
"I'm sorry," he says. He turns to face his soulmate, then. "I'm sorry about Nancy, I--"
Eddie jerks back like he's been hit. "Fuck you, Harrington," he snarls.
---
He sits in the back of an ambulance, eyes swollen shut, face throbbing. He's wearing a sailor suit for inexplicable reasons, which is almost more upsetting than the ambulance. He smells like puke and something toxically sweet.
A girl is with him, one he doesn't recognize, but he feels deeply, instinctively protective of her. He holds her shaking shoulders tight, tries to whisper comfort to her through his busted and bleeding mouth.
He's pretty sure he has a concussion.
"Steve!" Someone screams over the sounds of the EMTs and firefighters, of the building burning and collapsing behind them.
Eddie bursts through the gathered onlookers and past the ring of police cars enclosing them. He's falling into the ambulance before Steve has a chance to react.
"Sweetheart," Eddie sobs. He tries to cup Steve's face, but his fingers flutter around the damage. "Sweetheart, oh my god. I came as soon as I heard. Are you--what can I--"
Steve stares at him--his hair falling from its messy bun, his cutoff Metallica tee, concern and love leaking from those brown, brown eyes--and bursts into tears.
---
They sit on the roof of his house, sharing a joint back and forth. It's chilly, bordering on cold, winter just on the horizon. They're laughing, leaning into each other, and Steve is--he's happy. Elated. Could float away with it.
Robin--Robin-- is in the bathroom, or maybe in the kitchen for snacks, and it's just them for now. They're looking at each other, smiles wide, eyes bright.
They're taking it slow. Steve knows it's important, after what he did. They talked about it, his abandoning of Eddie for Nancy, chasing what his dad told him was normal and expected.
He doesn't want to cross any boundaries, wants to do this right. How Eddie deserves. But they're leaning into each other and they're smiling, and he's so in love. Intoxicated with it, lost.
In the end, he doesn't know who makes the first move, just that they're kissing and it's like coming home.
---
He's in a building, a shed or something. It's musty and dirty, smells like oil and gasoline and a building left closed up too long. Eddie's in his arms and he's talking through hiccuping sobs.
"I didn't save her, Steve. I didn't help. I just left her there! She was broken in pieces and I--I--"
Steve holds him close, tight, squeezes his eyes closed to stop his own tears from falling. He never wanted this for Eddie, never wanted him involved. Thought he could protect him from all of Hawkins's terrible things.
They aren't alone. Robin is there, coming up to hold Eddie too, plus a redheaded girl and curly haired boy he doesn't recognize.
"We'll figure this out, Eddie." The boy promises.
"We won't let anyone hurt you. We know you didn't murder Chrissy," the girl says.
---
Steve is in a world he doesn't understand, and Eddie is his arms. Eddie is in his arms, and there's blood everywhere. He's not awake, he's not--his heart beat is soft and slow, too slow, and his breathing stutters, and Steve can't--
"Baby, stay with me." He begs as he runs across the dead and rotting landscape. "Eddie, please. Wake up, okay? Wake up for me. I need to--I need to know that you're alright."
Eddie stays limp in his arms.
"Please," he begs. "You can't leave me. We promised, remember? We promised we'd be together forever. The rest of our lives. Me and You. Our six little nuggets. You promised."
The portal back to Hawkins is less than a dozen feet away, he's so close. Eddie gasps to consciousness, but his eyes are still hazy.
"Hi, sweetheart," he mumbles.
"Hey, hi, you're doing so good. We're almost out, okay? We're almost out and we'll get you to the hospital."
Eddie reaches out a weak hand, touches the edge of Steve's jaw. "Love you, Stevie," he whispers. "Glad you were mine."
He goes still in Steve's hold.
---
The images come faster now--
A hospital room at Hawkins General, Eddie hooked to machines. Steve holds hands with an older man. They wait in terrified silence
Eddie propped in a bed, a bunch of kids around him, Steve and Robin at his side. His eyes keep sliding to Steve, like he's making sure Steve's real, that he's still there
Their bodies tangled together in a bedroom Steve doesn't recognize
Steve down on one knee in a marble room lit only by black and red candles, Eddie standing in front of him
Hand-in-hand on a cliffside overlooking the ocean. The Chief of Police, Jim Hopper, stands in front of them with tears in his eyes and a beaming smile on his face
In a big, green yard behind a cozy little house. A little boy with Eddie's eyes and curls riding on his shoulders. Eddie sprinting around with a tiny girl giggling after him, perfect imitation of the King Steve hair-do on her tiny head
In a park, surrounded by family and friends. Steve has a little bit of a paunch and wears glasses. Eddie's hair streams around his shoulders, going grey at the temples. There's a banner strung between trees proclaiming 'Happy 20th Steve and Eddie!' They're surrounded by everyone they love and it's perfect
---
The images flash too fast for Steve to catalog after that, seconds-long glimpses of a shared future, and then he's back in his body in the hallway of Hawkins Middle, still holding too tight onto Eddie's arms.
Eddie rears back, face pale and terrified, and Steve is too shocked to do anything but let him go.
Tommy's yelling, but Steve only has eyes for his soulmate, who scrambles to his feet and throws himself down the hall away from them.
"What the hell, Harrington? Why'd you catch him? That was about to be funny as hell! I bet he'd have broken his nose--you ruined it!"
Steve isn't listening. He's trying to hold on to the memories of their life together, the ones that are already fading.
The last thing he remembers is that, sometime in the not-too-distant future, he'll find his way to the band room, Eddie Munson, and the rest of their lives.

What are your thoughts on the idea of The Lamb being taller than Narinder? I don’t mean like making The Lamb taller,
I mean making Narinder shorter.
Tumblr media
Not canon (yet), but I think it would be cute <3
And there's also these two (cw: swearing)

Here’s a 28 yo, depressed, technically homeless, absolutely miserable ghost who continues to protect amity park with the same love he always has.
