OC DND Class Tag

Rules: What classes would your OCs play if they were playing a video game? Now, I'm a massive D&D nerd,so don't mind that these are all D&D classes. I don't know any other video game classes, I'm gonna be real with you. Tagged by @emelkae thanks :)

side note: yes, i realize it's just a class tag but i wanted to put the background for a couple of the characters, so i did. you can't stop me.

also note: i went to dndbeyond dot come to double check the classes as i am writing this before 7 am while sick so, may fix this later when i'm not sick :p

Ameronis Cronin Divine Prophecy: Multiclass. Divine Soul Sorcerer before the events that led to Divine, taking up War Magic Wizard later. Background would be noble - that's the closest D&D 5e has to 'God' and then haunted one.

Iola Thurlow Divine Prophecy: Iola would be a Horizon Walker Ranger, as she's been trained in archery since she was young. It's one of her favorite pastimes and she's won a couple prizes for it. Background would have to be sage, as when the story starts, she's at grad school, and she's not gonna drop her love of learning.

Matia Schauer Death, O Death: Her, I know what she would be! I ended up playing her in a campaign and it was fantastic! When we ended it (I had to drop out because of school commitments), Matia was a level 7 Eldritch Knight Fighter and a Haunted One because of the events of Death, O Death. I would have to dig up her sheet, but I do believe she also took a level in rogue.

Aurora Blomqvist Fates Saga: Okay, so, noble would be one of the backgrounds, but it's not an immediate she knows about it. She is a very bright woman, though. So I'm going to go with Sage for her as well. As for the class... Order of the Mutant Blood Hunter (yup, CR babey!). I may update this once the Spelljammer book drops on the 16th if anything spicy is there, but I think that fits.

That's all the character's I'm gonna do for this one, otherwise it'd be way longer than it already is! I'm just gonna have an open tag, because I wanna hear about any and everyone's OCs :)

kid is definitely my oldest oc since she started out as a representation of myself (which she no longer is!) she's taken a lot of different forms and is completely unrecognizable to her starting point, but its still her :^]

as for in-universe age: these 3 aren't ACTUALLY my oldest (leth and carlisle are in their 50s while iola is in her early 60s). theres plenty of grandparents in the lebub family + ones in wombward that are over 100 yrs old, but these 3 are the only ones with a finalized-ish designs. (note: leth is in the same story as pecuni and is NOT part of xyrilverse)

Bound: Has your OC ever been imprisoned or captured? What happened? How did they get out? Did the experience leave any scars?

Yup, oh boy this one's a doozy. I completely understand if the context is confusing cause I only babble about OC's to a select group of people constantly (The context should help with both questions)

So the prelude to whatever Present she currently is in starts with her "golden age arc" where she grew up in a monastery with her mother, Iola. Pretty much from childhood she was raised to be a knight and join her mother's ranks, specifically their company the Ashen Fang.

They fought in a lot of campaigns for honor and glory to the Emperor (or whatever diety the setting has, they're mega catholics basically) but Iola was never really satisfied, and always wanted to stretch her ambitions further.

Eventually this results in Iola sacrificing the company for some sort of gain (depends on AU but usually for power/loyalty/etc) and while Sor is spared, she literally just watched everyone she loved die for her mother to get ahead and she wouldn't stand for that.

Sordid stands up to her mom, and is struck down (usually involving fire) and imprisoned (time out). In WH40K mommy's goal was to get on the Inquisition's radar again, so when a scout finally passed their measly little feudal planet she passed Sor off as a sort of "tithe" to serve the inquisition and get her out of her hair from damning her position by outing her as...yanno, betraying those she was closest to.

So YEAH. She technically goes to prison, and either breaks out or is sent away. She also has burn scars all up her arms and down her side from her mother's punishment hence why she wraps her arms up. Keeps the calluses a bit less painful with daily heavy sword use.

Guilt: What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it?

And then to add for the next question, Sor lives with a massive amount of survivor's guilt. She'd known these people since childhood, they were friends and family. She probably runs the scenario through her head thousands of times a night trying to figure out what she did wrong and how she could have prevented this, was too obedient? Was too naive? Oblivious??? It haunts her. She tries to siphon that energy into hope, though, that perhaps she can put their memory to peace if she can get back and put her mother down once and for all.

**Babal also has low level reality manipulation(can alter or destroy things that exist in that reality, but not bring in stuff from others ie; cuthulu or something, also it's energy consuming doing too many at one time) illusion skills also but they can pop if super distracted. Some more OCs!

The mushroom fortune-teller and the bratty porcelain doll have never met, but they are connected..! somehow...! Oscar has a kinda-sister, but they don't get along very well. They were made by the same guy, but Oscar was intended to be a person, and his sister is a soulless doll-servant prototype. With time she managed to grow herself a personality, somehow. She is a sweet girl who has insane luck and who hates Oscar with passion. They were created for an emoji challenge (👁🍄🔮, 🎎🎭🎬 and 🥞☀🍀 respectively)

Do you know all these tumblr posts that treat fungi as eldrich horrors they are? Thats Sieni and Yole relationships basically. She would bully the girl so bad, given the chance.

their designs were quite easy to come up with.

I usually put a lot of effort in character's names (read: I stare at names and their meaning for like an hour) but it wasn't a case with Sieny, she isn't a human so why would she have a human name? so I've translated something like "mushroom family" into Finnish.

Speaking of names, Yole's own has an interesting history to it. It should be written as iole, but in tumblr font there is no difference between capital i and small L, I hated it. Imagine naming your imaginary child Iol. Yole's full name is Yolana actually, it's a mix of name Iolanta and Iola from Witcher. I just really liked her name. It's nice. Iolanta means 'purple flower' and Yole used to have a lot of henbane (it has purple flowers) symbolism in her. She was meant to be both deadly poison and lifesaving medicine. Yole still has a ribbon with a purple flower on her brimhat, but it has lost all meaning, unfortunately. Her last name despite meaning 'cute, sweet' sounds similar to the way henbane is in my language (belena - balemila). She has her mother's last name, and not father's because Yole used to follow her footsteps as a poison-maker. Oh, she still does, but as a witch and a menace to society. Vedana means 'knowledgeable', 'all-knowing', Damian means 'conqueror'. Mara's name is short for Morana/Marena, Slavic goddess of winter, death and changing of seasons (from winter to spring, returning to life). Mara is meant to be a formidable and intimidating warrior who has slain countless demons... but she's been through a lot, girl's just tired at this point.

and speaking of gods....

you can have two deities. as s treat. Fire Goddess and a Star Clad in Armor. I've already said a lot about them, and now I'm lazy. They are besties btw.

My Art Summary for 2022!

(Under the cut I'll go into more details for each month, for memory's sake. Warning: It's LONG.)

Come one, come all for your opportunity to see all of the drawings I should have posted but never did! The ones that make me work harder every december to remember when tf i drew what! The ones that, in missing, make it seem like i only draw once a year--! (going through my twitter media tab is depressing LMAO)

JANUARY

[Pictured: Iola in Prenda clothing. There was a Twitter Post going around asking you to draw your WoL in your country's traditional clothes. Ofc I didn't skip the opportunity to do it! And drew my BF's WoL too for good measure. Still my fav drawing of the year!]

Also worked on a VTuber model for a friend (i drew it as a bust january last year; then this year was asked to expand it to full body). It was very challenging, but also fun!

For the rest, I designed some backstory NPCs for Asera (Daimyorus childhood friend, his goddess and a mage that helped us multiple times); and drew some twitch emotes for a client. Was a fresh, fun start. I remember having a lot of fun and finding that month quite relaxing.

FEBRUARY

Further work was done on the VTuber model, a lot of parts that weren't quite working before were redrawn. He was taking form!! Now that most of the work was done, also did a ref sheet to go with it. I couldn't wait to see him moving!

That's when I started preparing to open commissions for realz, trying to think of prices and set up examples. I drew some BGs and the Complexity Guide, and set most of the boring things up. I plan to open comms either Jan 2023 or February 2023, so let's hope all the work paid off~

MARCH

But yeah, most of the month was dedicated to the VTuber model, working to fix it as the rigger found issues. Ref Sheet was finished this month. I'll stop mentioning the model, but the back and forth lasted till june or so?? Had to fix all of his toggles; and redraw his entire hair to allow for a better 3D effect when moving (it went from 3~6 layers to over 20). This was my first time working on vtuber models, so there was A LOT to learn. It surprising how many pitfalls there is in vtuber making. I'm very proud of how it turned out, and eternally grateful to the rigger (and to my friend) for being so patient with me. I was sent a small demo of what he looks like, and seeing your drawing move so beautifully like that feels magical!! There's still much to design and draw before he can debut, but hope you can support him then!

Oh yeah, there was this attempt too:

APRIL

Also sketched some ideas for illustrations of our RP characters (hi Irene), but never really completed them:

MAY

Also drew the catgirl from Love2DrawManga. Didn't do much this month (...or did but forgot). I believe I worked on some BGs I can't show, but these are still very much stuck at WIP :(

JUNE

So... I completelly forgot I was drawing my OCs outfits [facepalm]:

(Don't mind the two in the corner, I don't want my essay to get hit with Tumblr hammer LMAO They're nowhere near done). But yeah, these are my OCs from 'Elder''. I've had them since childhood, and still love them, even if I gave up on the book idea. Will make an actual post once all is done and I can go back to their character illusts uwu

JULY

SO.MUCH.FUN

I'm 100% going back next year! This event just proved how much I love drawing people's OCs. I really want to be a commission artist so I can do that for a living. Sadly I didn't get to draw everyone I wanted, plus I wasted a lot of time trying to look through OCs while the website was dying LMAO Next year I'll come prepared!

Also I drew that Spring picture to use as a reference in her profile there. I missed drawing her!

AUGUST

Mostly worked on commemorative stuff. Anniversary chibi for Brie; that Under Maintenance pic; Thank You for DL message for 'Loving You Fully' and 'Still Shining'. Also designed some outfits (and painted some sprites) for Mythic Meetup: Midnight Mystery (not released yet!).

Started a bday gift for my boyfriend, but something kept looking 'off' about it so I didn't finish in time. Turns out it was overblended... And will require a redraw. Sorry boyfriend TT But my wife (tm) needs to look perfect!!

Also made the design for our new RP characters:

...And I belive this is when I made that cursed Yshtola feeding Zero picture? Yeah.

SEPTEMBER

Made the YCH bases, as well as 3 examples. I have no memories of this month, but Windows says this sketch is from september:

OCTOBER

[Pictured: Old OC redraw, for my Commission Guide. Decided to do it after a client asked for clarification if an old drawing was halfbody or fullbody (august last year, Torunn sitting down).]

They're really old OCs of mine. Ever RP-ed in Deviantart groups? I did!!

Cecilia (<-) is pretty much a Iola prototype: salve maker and potion seller who lives with her dad (who taught her the craft). One day he collapses during work, and Cecilia ends up overworking herself to afford his medicine and other living expenses. In desperation, she joins The Guild as a novice magician for money, and gets herself involved on a war she never intended to join.

Celticca (->) is a archer and aspiring musician who wants to make the most beautiful song (tm) for her family. She's very sweet, but naïve and scatterbrained. I didn't have much planned for her, but had a lot of fun seeing her constantly get involved with Evil/Neutral alligned characters w/o noticing LOL

....Now that I think about it, she's literally a FFXIV bard, before I knew anything about XIV.

The rest of October was focused on Magni's Birthday Project and my YCH Halloween Commissions.

Ellie (<-) and Hadrianus (->). Ellie is a yandere witch I made as a joke and fell in love with. Hadrianus is my BF's wizard. Yes, he looks like Dr. Strange. Yes, that's the joke. The 3rd character was Rosemary, but I didn't ask to draw her so she's missing :( I do want to draw all of them at some point. We accidentally made "Spy x Family, but it's horror and Loid wants to run away" LOOOL I love this trio!!

Made 2 adoptables, but since they went unsold I decided to remove them and redraw for next year:

October was so much fun!! Sadly it let me completely drained by the end of it. I got hit with such a HUGE art block it was like my hands just... Forgot how to draw. Everything came out weird. Sadly, that resulted on me having to drop a drawing I was making for Brie :/ Hoping I can pick it back up soon... (better late than never right?)

It's around that time I decided to work on an AI redraw. Used Crayon (old Dall-e Mini) to create some monstrosity for me and tried to turn it into an actual drawing.

This drawing is a bit painful to look at, because of all the self doubt and bad feelings attached to it. But I want to finish it someday. My prompt was something stupid like 'cute anime girl having fun'. I want to remain true to the prompt and make her meeting with lil ladybug feel warm and fun!

...Like of the feelings I was missing back then, and am just now starting to get back.

TL;DR: Take breaks or you'll break.

NOVEMBER

Managing burnout through most of it. Eventually just decided to stop fighting and played games instead. Even with the frame drops, Atelier Ryza is pretty fun~ Hoping to go bk to it soon.

At some point my boyfriend said I should just draw things to have fun for a bit. I followed his advice...

DECEMBER

...By drawing Iola as a sheep herder. It was much more fun than it sounds. I didn't care for polish at all, just seeing Iola in a cute outfit LMAO It's... A mess of a drawing. But it's MY mess of a drawing. I feel this thought calmed my mind a lot.

Also went for my first ever Art Party. It was fun, tho brain did get in the way after a bit, as expected ^^;;; Still want to go to these more often!! It's fun to draw & chat with others.

For random drawings, all I have is a(n embarrassing) fanart of Elf from Isekai Ojisan. I'll post eventually..... (that anime is hilarious)

For now I have a commission and a collab to take care of, and a certain Moon Goddess to draw as soon as possible~ Will be doing my best these next few days, and hope Iola can be my sheperd and guide me to the path of 'having lots of fun drawing again'.

An old favorite of mine. Might as well introduce my kids here.

Meet Team Spectral, my Sonic OCs, a team of close friends that lives carefree & occasionally gets into misadventures.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Bio: Iola had to become independent early on due to her parents neglecting her for being more interested in females & caused her to feel inadequate & unsure of herself. However, meeting the others encouraged her to be proud of herself, no matter what. She's the party girl of the team. She can be a little rebellious at times, but she's fun-loving, smart, sassy & friendly.

Fade the Fox

Gender: Female

Color: Brown

Chaos Power: Earth

Team Type: Power

Alignment: Lawful Good

Bio: Fade once started off as bright & open, but dealing with a pretty bad rejection made her very cross & standoffish. While initially cold to the others, she learned to open up again after seeing that they have similar experiences with getting turned down. She's the glue that holds the team together. She may come across as cold & grumpy, but she's kind, wise, bold & supportive.

Alignment: True Neutral

Bio: Gray grew up with little to no friends & was frequently picked on. He grew up to become an introverted & an apathetic loner. After meeting the others, he was originally distant from them, wanting nothing to do with them, but he greatly warmed up to them after learning that they all have similar backgrounds as him. Aside from his anger issues & seriousness, he is kind, supportive & dignified.

Chaos Power: Air

Team Type: Fly

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Bio: Breeze grew up in an underground gang like setting where he developed a bit of an attitude but after moving on from that setting & meeting the others, he learned to mellow out. His ignorance & snarkiness often makes him the wild card, but he's got a kind heart & his energetic nature can give his friends a boost. He also loves skateboarding & is a fan of the Extreme Gears.

Color: Light Blue

Chaos Power: None (Relies on his gadgets, like wrist-guns, grapple hooks & flight jets on his shoes)

Team Type: Fly

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Bio: Ramon is an orphan who grew up in a foster home. He spent most of his life making small gadgets due to him being good with technology (Not as good as Tails, but he comes pretty close). Not having any parents throughout his life has made him a lonely soul, but the support of his friends & his girlfriend, Jewel the Beetle, has made things a little easier for him. He can be introverted & lonely at times, but he's smart, bright, considerate & friendly. He also loves to read.

Colleen the Cat

Gender: Female

Color: Yellow

Chaos Power: Electricity

Team Type: Speed

Alignment: Neutral Good

Bio: Colleen is an adorable sweetheart from the beginning, but she suffered from loneliness throughout her childhood due to not having any friends because everyone saw her as a weirdo. Gray & the others were the first friends she made due to them sharing the same experiences as her & she welcomes them in with open arms, with Fade & Iola being her closest friends & Gray becoming her boyfriend. She can be naïve & short-tempered, but is cheerful, lighthearted & sincere. She's pretty much the heart of the team.
