Hotaru Tomoe Headcanon:

So we already know that in the 90s anime, when Hotaru is reborn again and goes off to live with the outer senshi, they dress her in bright colors like this:

But, as Hotaru gets older, she reverts back to her casual goth fashion (according to my headcanon). It’s just what she prefers to wear. They don’t make much black clothing for small children, anyway.

She just looks so much better this way, imo. Plus, let’s finally do away with the stereotype that wearing all black or dark colors means you’re the villain. 🖤

Outers Family: Setsuna Meioh (Sailor Pluto), Haruka Tenoh (Sailor Uranus), Michiru Kaioh (Sailor Neptune), Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn)

W.I.T.C.H.: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia & Hay Lin

Outers Family:

Haruka and Michiru (and later Setsuna) are forced by prophecy to spend months plotting to kill 12 year old Hotaru in order to save the world, giving up their teenaged lives and innocence and it’s super gay and angsty. But then Hotaru awakens as Sailor Saturn anyways and she turns out to be good and defeats the big bad! But she dies because Ultimate Sacrifice TM. Sailor Moon’s magic resurrects her though. Issue is she’s reborn as a baby and her weird abusive father is dead now. So Michiru snatches this baby and tells Haruka and Setsuna that they are her parents now and will raise her. Haruka and Setsuna agree because who are they to tell their girlfriend no. Time skip, Hotaru is the sweetest toddler and she calls them Haruka papa, Michiru mama, and Setsuna mama and Michiru teaches her to play the violin, Setsuna homeschools her, Haruka plays pretend with her and they all give her HEADPATS.

Sera Myu Gifs Before I Disappear (Edit)

It is 3:47am and before I forget that I have tumblr again, let’s drop my favorite gifs from the 2016 Sailor Moon Musical, Amour Eternal feat. The Outers... Again... Serenity help me.

Setsuna: “Let me help with your luggage.”

Haruka: “Not mine?!”

Like the movie, our favorite family’s just living life away from duty (even Setsuna my gahd finally, the break she really needed). I love the scene before this because it’s Musical-canon that Michiru loves to doorbell-spam, I actually thought it would be Haruka.

And right after this gif, Setsuna attempts to pull Michiru’s luggage for her (Haruka Gets The Short End Of The Stick Pt. 2, refer to my Le Mouvement Finale post for Pt. 1) and immediately struggles because of how heavy it actually is, which makes Michiru both cooler and a lot scarier.

This is one of the scenes that pulled me into the 2013-2017 sera myu and modern sera myu in general. I used to be really intimidated of the modern cast, especially Shuu-ranus, then I saw this scene where Haruka dares try to challenge Michiru’s perceptiveness after telling Haruka to not bother their sleeping child. You can literally sense that moment of fear in Haruka...

But of course, she had to pout. ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!! I am going to scream if it weren’t for Hotaru sleeping in the next room.

This was supposed to be included on my first Le Mouvement Finale post (check that out if you want to see more Haruka getting bullied), but Pluto has me under temporal timeout from using the time gate after I keep going back in time trying to do the traditional drawing version of Undo on a line stroke.

What I really love about the musicals is that we get to see certain sides to the characters that we don’t usually see and I’m all up for some immaturity from the supposed mature people of the group.

The fourth Sailor Moon story arc has been adapted to stage a few times. Somewhat as rare as the second arc, but Bandai used Dream elements in other productions more often: specifically, the Amazon Trio and Amazoness Quartet. Though in fact, to this day there’s never been a stage adaption of the Dream arc featuring the Quartet, for both Bandai and Nelke opted for the trio. The four girls were only seen twice, and in a different story!

For your consideration : Reborn Hotaru is going to be a complete chad

So lets look at the facts; the first Hotaru we meet does not grow up in a safe environment. She’s chronically ill and isolated from the people around her. Not to mention her father is a literal sociopath who has been experimenting on her and there’s an evil alien inside her that she’s constantly suppressing. It’s completely understandable that she’s a little quiet and introverted. Nothing’s wrong with that, but she didn’t come by it naturally, she had a hard life.

Now, reborn Hotaru is not the same character. We have to consider she’s grown up in different environment and she is healthy (not just physically.) So of course she’ll be less introverted but ladies and gentlemen that is not where it ends.

Her parents. Yes, the “I wear all designer brands and know your girlfriend personally” Outers. All three. Can we take a moment to think about what a child of these three chads would look like. Be afraid, because reborn Hotaru has all of these qualities and was raised on the art of taking your waifu.

lmao I keep getting into the Usagi/Seiya plotline since it... genuinely actually works and also manages to highlight Usagi/Mamoru well (in a way they... aren't great at doing when they're actually both in the same room, oops)

and then someone always barges in BUT USAGIIII DON'T YOU ALREADY HAVE A SPECIAL SOMEONE??????!!!!!! like the world's most unnecessary Sailor Kool-Aid Man

Usagi's got two hands and genuine feelings for both of them, y'all, leave her alone

#in other news this season feels like it has too many characters and not enough good direction on what to do with them #the outer senshi despite going on about WE GOTTA DEFEND YOU FROM EXTERNAL THREATS are...... fighting with the starlights #instead of the Literal Definite Threats From Outside the Solar System?#like yes I get that the starlights are kind of sketchy and/or assholes but. Mouse/Siren/Crow/Nyanko are Right There. priorities guys #Saturn just kind of wandered off and disappeared after the Nehelenia business...?#Chibichibi was structurally set up to mirror Chibiusa's position in the family but so far has just been a walking plot device #and not well integrated into the rest of the cast or show #partially I suspect they spent too long on the ''nobody knows who the others are!!!!'' dramatic irony and it's thrown the pacing off #and also. unfortunately. galaxia is boring #(this makes me feel broadly vindicated in my preference for the villains' anime backstories that are more personalized)#(compared to the manga's ''they're all incarnations of chaos'' thing or w/e it is? bc chaos....... is just kind of dull)#.......anyway contemplating how I'd patch stuff up #I think I'd shift it around so HaruMichi&tc are the ones primarily fighting the animamates w/ Usagi #& the inner senshi are trying to figure out what the deal is w the starlights (who they don't especially love)#something something disillusionment as they see how the 3 lights' personas are not especially nice people AND then also connect them #to these three fairly ruthless sailor senshi?#mixing around the social groupings also reinforces Usagi's loneliness after Mamoru gets put on a bus #and doing a little more with ChibiChibi as a parallel to Chibiusa - like there's a thing with the photo changing to leave out Chibiusa yes?#so bringing in more of that comparison (and having some unnerving creepy stuff of other people starting to not remember Chibiusa?) -#emphasizes the idea of ''fuck something's up something's happened to Mamoru that's affecting the future'' as a call-back #to earlier in the season when Nehelenia almost trapped him and made Chibiusa fade #(.....and if you REALLY must then Usagi can have Conflict Feelings about her little love triangle via attributing #Chibiusa's disappearance to the wrong cause)#..........this is way too long of a tag rant what am I doing with my life #James liveblogs television

Uranus was near howling in laughter as Neptune held Antonio and Pluto was protectively hovering beside Mirabel. Saturn was looking so done with everything as the four Outers looked at the Madrigals.

"Do you really think you can intimidate us?" Neptune asked bemused as she stared at the Madrigals. Most of them were nodding except Dolores and Camilo. Dolores was looking at her family as if they were nuts and Camilo was staring at Saturn.

"Well I just wanted to ask the beautiful one out on a date." Camilo said blushing and looking hopefully at Saturn who looked at Mirabel immediately.

"Your cousin is trying to date you princess?" Saturn asked in alarm and Mirabel looked disgusted but amused.

"He meant you silly." Mirabel said and Saturn looked baffled.

"But you Michiru-mama and Setsuna-mama are the beautiful ones." Saturn looked so innocently confused and Mirabel sighed as she looked at her crush. (Didn't Chibi-Usa have a crush on Saturn? If not someone please correct me)

"You're adorable when confused but trust me you're beautiful too." Mirabel said and Saturn blushed at that, looking down and awkwardly fiddling with her skirt.

"Enough. You will release my grandchildren immediately and leave!" Alma demanded glaring at the senshi while Antonio looked around and then lightly hugged on Neptune's outfit.

"Yes little prince?" Neptune immediately gave him her full attention.

"Why is she saying you've got her grandkids? The only ones you've got are Mira and I." Antonio asked confused and Alma...she paused for a long moment at that.

"Ignore her little prince. She must be going senile." Uranus said grinning and Mirabel snickered.

"You remember that all of us bar the Prince are older than she is right papa?" Saturn asked dryly as she stared at her papa.

"Meh schematics." Uranus shrugged.

"I demand you-" Alma was cut off by Saturns glaive now being pointed at her throat.

"The only one who can give us orders is our queen. And our current orders are to get the Prince and Princess to the palace. I do not defy my queen." Saturn said her voice cold as she glared down the taller woman with ease.

"Oh please let them be stupid enough to attack us. I've been itching to hit them with a World Shaking for years." Uranus said and she was holding her sword at the ready now with a feral grin on her face.

"Don't waste your time and energy." Pluto said shaking her head as she turned to go, gently guiding Mirabel with her.

"They aren't worth it." Neptune agreed as she carried Antonio away.

"Hmph. If they try something I'm not holding back. Let's go Firefly." Uranus said as she followed the other two, although she was still on alert for any back attacks.

Saturn paused for a moment and stared at them all.

"I suggest you leave them alone before the Queen gets so tired of your behavior that the prince and princess can no longer save you. While Neptune-mama and Uranus-papa are powerful and protective...it's me and Pluto-mama you need to be worried about. After all she's the Guardian of time and space." Saturn said and she moved her glaive and started to follow her parents and Prince and Princess.

"What are you guardian of? You're like my age!" Camilo asked and Saturn chuckled darkly, shooting them a twisted little smirk.

"I am much older than I look. And I am the Guardian of Death."

NO ITS FINE 🤭🤭 no but what did they think would happen. Like I feel like they didn’t think this one through??? It’s cool though, cause they handled it. Most definitely not worth it, trust 💀💀
