Working on my Jel fic has led to the following headcanon:

Is a big hugger: Reth, Nai'o, Tish, Jina, Kenli, Auni, Delaila

Puts their hand on your shoulder when they want to tell you something Important: Hassian, Sifuu, Ashura, Hodari, Budruu

Will not initiate touch, but will accept it under the right circumstances: Eshe, Caleri, Kenyatta, Elouisa, Najuma, Hekla

Vibe checks you before deciding if they're gonna touch you in any way: Einar, Tamala, Zeki (all for wildly different reasons)

I think Jel's hang-up on touch was baked into him by being essentially Majiri nobility. He secretly craves physical affection, but he feels very Wrong about this and that's why he has those little mental hurdles to jump over before he'll be physically affectionate with you in any way.

Chayne gets his own section because he is also a big hugger but his hugs specifically give you the "unconditional acceptance" vibe.

Sifuu: *stares deep into your eyes* embrace your feral lizard...

Einar: Behold. A swordfish.

Zeki: I DO feel like a cult leader. ...I like it.

Reth: I have a lot of terrible opinions, and I'm very ready to share them.

Hassain: Get your brain away from my brain.

Einar: I'm so happy I can finally be a fish!

Kenli: I'm tired of standing so I'm going to lean against this nice historical building.

Eshe: I know how to do basic math. I know 1 + you = worthless.

Zeki: I like calling people trash. It's really fun.

Jel: Why are you a fashion icon? You're like four.

I've seen on the Palia official site that they plan on expanding relationships up to level 5 which has got me very excited for future updates.

On a related note I really like Kenli and Eshe as characters and I hope I can either mend their relationship or at least convince them to get an amicable divorce.
