Hey, can people please recommend me some YouTubers who are trans or trans allies? I've sort of made myself a YouTube algorithm bubble that I want to burst. I really love Aranock and Jessie Gender and Swolesome and Patricia Taxxon. I just feel like I'm trapped in Trans literary/media/societal analysis. People of tumblr, lend me your TV recommendations!

On weekday mornings @the-real-surfski and I wake up stupidly early to exercise together before Spawn gets up and we have to start getting ready for work, etc. We watch tv while we’re exercising and need a new show, so we’re hoping for your recommendations.

Required Qualities:

- Can’t be on Hulu (we have most other streaming services) or YouTube (getting it on the tv we use is too much work that early in the morning)

- Must be engaging/fun/exciting

- Must not require thinking (it’s really stupidly early)

- Need to be able to miss bits and not completely lose the thread

Some shows that have worked well in the past include: Amazing Race (just finishing up a season, want something different), Drag Race, we watched most of The Clone Wars this way, and we did an ATLA rewatch (but I probably wouldn’t have wanted to do my first time through during exercise). We started watching both Star Trek Lower Decks and Star Wars Rebels during exercise time, but they were both so good that they got moved to evening viewing because we didn’t want to miss stuff.

Hey guys so for my 2024 I’ve decided that my resolution is just that I just want to do and experience more. And I would like your assistance.

Breakdown: I want to try to decrease my doom scrolling time over multiple platforms and spend way less time going down weird YouTube rabbit holes. I want to try to spend my free time a little more productively.

I already intend to spend more time working on my creative hobbies, passion projects and hopefully socializing/expanding my circle, but I have to be realistic in that I know I’m going to want alone time, quiet time, and time were I just do want to chill out on my couch and do next to nothing except consume. We all have those days

Point of this post specifically: I want to watch more tv series’s. I want to watch more movies. I want to read more books. I want the media that I will inevitably consume this year to feel worth the time I spend with it. Problem is, I’ve been out of the loop for quite a while and don’t have a very good library of media to rely on.

So if anyone has any recommendations for TV shows, Movies or Books I can put on my list for the year, I would be very appreciative!

Points of interest for me are: history, slice of life, fantasy, magic/supernatural, various mythologies, adventure, drama, comedy, mystery, pure chaos, musicals, romance, queer stories, friendships/found family, self-discovery… etc…etc
