I just realized I never showed my homemade Where Home Is trophy hardcover smh
New vs old again bc it has an old "paperback" version!
Hardcover was made with transfer paper for the title stuff and stencils were used with golden acrylics for the patterns. I saw the stencil and I knew on sight it would be for Where Home Is. My hard basis seems to have gotten a weird fold and I think it's from the transfer paper's heat?? Not sure, I just know it wasn't there at first but it's okay, I know Lucerne would love it anyway.
Here's a peek of the inside (gasp, hand pic). I had the paperpack's covers plastified too hard so it had issues opening but it's not too bad since its purpose was mostly "trophy" where I can point at it and go "bruh, I did that, that's a lot of words"
Only Light on the Horizon left, printed Welcome Aboard the Maria and so it's ready for folding and sewing (though kinda debating printing the last signature that holds the refs bc the pencil portions are really hard to see for some reason, so I'd probs need to ink them) but At Hope’s End still needs a few touchups and a last look (though it's kinda long bc there's 71 chapters of it MCNJDNC)

Honestly Ben 10 is probably one of the most based science fiction series out there by sheer virtue of it having the balls to showcase any alien concept it wanted to no matter how ridiculous, and whenever someone is like “there’s no way in Hell that could ever be scientifically feasible”, it dared to look them in the eyes and go “Yeah, well, this is a world where magic and superpowered mutants also exist. What are you gonna do? Cry about it? You grown ass adult who’s expecting scientific feasibility out of a cartoon meant to sell toys to preteen boys that has lore so inconsistent it’s almost impossible to tell what’s canon and what’s non-canon? LMAO loser.”
I mean OS had it all- obviously aliens but not only that, at minimum 10 of them; mutants in daily life across at least America, no doubt in other places too; magic, albeit one without a system beyond ‘there’s a spellbook and some charms’. The shift to purely alien in AF makes the wonderful nonsense sci-fi stuff into frustrating logic trees of ‘how does xenobiology get this powerful’ which I had definitely fallen into. Ben 10 is unabashedly science fantasy, so why not go the full fantasy and bring back mutants and magic, haha!
Admittedly a good implementation of magic in a series tends to follow a magic system, which I’m not especially great at coming up with, especially in comparison to speculative biology which come with pre-established rules. But hey, I don’t exactly expect it to be fleshed out, at least not as well as the alien aspect of Ben 10; even then, there’s only so much fleshed out, it’s to tease us into making lore for it lmao-
To be fair though, Ben 10 itself had to whack itself on the cheek in order to be reminded of its magic and especially mutant parts, which unfortunately in the latter case was central to major retcons so…

Kink saves me. Heals me. Gives me comfort and relief where I thought none could be found. Being able to paint a veneer of "This Is For Sex Reasons!!" over my fears and insecurities and dark curiosities has made them approachable and manageable beyond my greatest expectations.
I love being a kinkster. I love being chained to my §witch. I love being a t4t faggot.
Kink saves me.

back when i played skyblock i decided my goal was getting all minions to max level and tbh i got like 3/4 way there
i finally crafted a bunch of the minions to help out getting to the pink level rank, i'd been ignoring the rest of them for a bit bc there's no hope of me getting another minion slot anyways. i made a little document to keep track of how many i have left, i am also close but some of them just arent worth the effort
the slayer minions are so annoying to craft...

Product representatives are literally so fucking wasteful, they’ll build an entire shelf for a display and then throw it into the dumpster next week when they take the display down
Sometimes they build the shittiest, wobbly-est, most useless shelf ever out of a silly little kit with particle board and plastic screws but sometimes they’re actually sturdy and held together by really structurally sound joinery and sturdy metal nails or screws, and I just want to sit on the dumpster yowling like a feral dumpster troll and tell them to at least take the good shelves to a fucking thrift store

Did two other homemade hardcovers pretty much at the same time, so I’ll start with my older fic!
(I think there's a piece of thread on the back cover there but I'm too lazy to take another pic)
As it may be seen, I had some issues with the transfer paper this time, with the dark blue and purple emeralds. Blue one straight up folded while ironing and I'm not sure why but I fixed it as much as I could while the purple one just didn’t stick at all on one side for some reason and finally held after I put another layer of varnish there. The rest was fine though aside from me picking a slightly too pale color, whoops. Oh well.
The back cover was supposed to be fireworks using my gold and copper acrylic pencils but I realized i didn't know how to make fireworks so I just embraced the chaos and hoped for the best hehehe
Tried to texture it too with black acrylics but it didn't texture as much as I had hope. It was a good attempt though.
Here’s a look on the inside:
I kept it a little more "normal" looking since I didn't feel like a particular vibe fitted for the fonts, but I think it looks nice still.
A good pal of mine told me I should have put kudos and bookmarks on that lil "distributed" there and she's absolutely right so while I won't have them on the next hardcover I'll be presenting (it was printed at the same time), they will be on Light on the Horizon’s hardcovers B)
I still ran in that issue where the book doesn't fully open but it's much more lowkey now? Starting to wonder if maybe it’s a thickness thing since the other two with the issue are both 20k-ish words while this one is 50k (aka p thicker)
I'll just have to see if At Hope’s End has this issue I suppose hehehe

Sel my honey now you gotta tell me your favorite thing about mr timothee chalamet or maybe what was it that made you go 👀 HEEHEEHEE
ohmegawsh erika this is so embarrassing 🫣 ok. just for some sel timmy lore. i really never used to get the hype around him, i mean, i knew he was a good actor and stuff but never rlly found him attractive or anything (he looked like a lizard to me HAHA you know the lizard-handsome vibes... which is not my type HAHAH)
but then i watched dune 2. and IDK. something in that movie. something about him in that movie... by the end of it i was like... whoah. and then i started watching interviews, and a bunch of scenes from his other movies, and then i started following him on instagram. i even watched wonka for him 😭
BOTTOMLINE. i still don't really consider timmy a physical type of mine; logan lerman would take the cake any day!! but i like how sincere he sounds in his interviews!! genuinely just feels like a chill guy who likes what he's doing and is really passionate about it too. he's got a kind of awkwardness to him that i find really endearing 🥹
ask me anything you want to know about me!

Can we talk about how embarrassing it is giving gifts when your only creative skills have no physical results. Like Merry Christmas! I wrote and performed an oration about how objectively cool you are. Happy Birthday! I edited a photo so that you're picking George Washington's nose. Do you want me to print it? Happy Chanukah. I got 5 theatre kids and organized them to reenact how we met. Happy Valentine's I wrote smut about those two depressed dudes you like. I don't know if it's ooc or not because I'm not in that fandom but I gave them wings bc I know you like that.

Details: Ithadel
So I have played Ithadel in DnD one (1) time.
By the end of the campaign, he had taken the vows and co-opted the powers of a dying angel and was well on his way to establishing a significant power base in the literal Abyss, doing everything in his power to give hundreds of damned and/or lost souls a second chance at living a good (after)life.
(He nominally started as a paladin, but considering this was back in 4e and he punched his own [fallen] god in the face when the opportunity was presented to him...)
I’m not saying the guy is perfectly moral. And there’s a lot to be said for the influence of that particular GM’s storytelling and worldbuilding styles.
But I am saying that Ithadel is genuinely and wholeheartedly devoted to finding ways to help people, no matter how daunting or surreal the circumstances might be.
(…once he’s had a chance to collect himself. 😂)
