Would Sylveon be a good pet? they are like the most domesticated out of all the 8 eeveelutions.

(Would you look at that, it’s another one of my favorite pokémon, that’s a happy coincidence!)

Sylveons would indeed make excellent pets! They retain the friendly nature and lovable personality of their pre-evolution eevee, all wrapped up in a pink-and-blue ribbon. That isn’t to say that caring for a sylveon will always be easy, however, so make sure you consider carefully before adopting, like with any pokémon.

At fifty pounds and three feet tall, having a sylveon around would be a bit like having a large-but-lightweight dog. They are known to grow attached to their owners…literally… as they like to wrap their ribbon-like feelers around them (Y). Speaking of these feelers, which were called organs in the past (Legends: Arceus): sylveons can use them to emit a “soothing aura” (X), which is said to prevent fights by weakening hostility (Sun) and erasing enmity (Sword). Sylveons have a naturally calming presence, which would make them excellent support Pokémon for those who struggle with anxiety or emotional regulation.

It would be a mistake, however, to consider sylveons to be pacifists. In the wild, sylveons are hunters that dazzle their prey with the fluttering of their feelers before pouncing on them (Moon). Sylveons don’t shy away from battle, especially when it comes to dragon-type pokémon, with whom they seem to have some sort of natural rivalry. In the heat of battle, sylveons are known to challenge dragon pokémon “many times larger” than they are (Ultra Sun). In the Galar Region there’s even a fairy tale that speaks of a brave sylveon “vanquishing a dreadful dragon pokémon” (Shield). Sylveons actually have a pretty robust set of moves, making use of disorienting attacks like Sand Attack and Baby-Doll eyes to weaken foes before striking with heavy-hitters like Moonblast or Double-Edge. If a sylveon wants to, they can put up quite a fight. There’s a pretty low chance that they would use these moves on a beloved owner, but like we always say: accidents can always happen and should be considered.

In whole, sylveons would make great pets. They’re brimming with personality and good vibes (quite literally on that count), and are unlikely to lash out at humans. If you adopt one, however, you may want to keep them away from dragon-type pokémon!

i've got a fun project in the works, in collaboration with @shadow0haven, and as we've started working on this project more and more, i'd like to put out some feelers:

(I've been doing bookbinding for approximately two years now and have a good feel for the techniques involved, so journals would be comparable to "handmade journal you could buy on Etsy" in quality! If you want to see examples of books I've bound, you can find them all on this blog, tagged with #jay's bound books, or at @blueskiesbooks.)

The price point is still a bit in flux, but the journals will be approximately $40-45 + shipping for a half-letter (8.5" x 5.5"), 200-page hardcover journal. $20 of that will be donated to Blind LGBT Pride International, and the rest will go to the reimbursement of material costs.

Each page will have watermark-style artwork on it, as well as a dotted grid and page numbers. There will be three journal designs available, two with printed artwork on the covers and one with a stylized version of the yellow sign done in gold on faux leather. Each journal will have a ribbon and an elastic closure.

I'm hoping to have sample pictures of them at some point mid-February, and they'll be going up for sale during Invictuscon (so probably around March)! There will be five copies of each style (so fifteen journals total) and they'll stay up for sale until they're sold out. Depending on interest/time, I may make more, but for now, fifteen is the plan.

Riddle was very...confused about you. He had never seen a beastman like you before, especielly how you have some kind of ribbons flowing around softly in the air. Though, nonetheless, he acknowledges you as some kind of nonsense. There is that one time, however, during he's lecture with Ace in the Cafeteria, one of your ribbon-like feelers had subconsciously wrap itself around Riddle's arm which had caught him off guard at the sudden touch. What even shock him more is that you had suddenly ask him if he is alright, in which he brushed off and reprimanded you for touching someone without permission. After he had overblot, the 2nd year dorm leader soon learn that your feelers actually can read other's feelings withing touch so you kinda have this feeling that he will overblot. You two became good friends afterwards, always having tea and having the time to learn the rules where you actually kinda fun to do.

You know that Trey is hiding something the moment your feelers touch he's arm. The latter was shock that you could read him easily, though he did learn soon after that it is normal for your kind and decided to help you and your friends by giving the info you guys needed. During Chapter 2, Trey is forever thankful to you even more after you had used Floral Healing to heal he's ankle to continue participating at the games. You two are in good terms and even became baking pals when you two share some signature treats from your home.

Wow! What a cutie! Cater quickly took a snap of ya when you two first meet eachother in the rose maze. He had heard about the mysterious girl who had entered Diasomnia but he didnt think much that she would be this cute for that dorm! LOL! You two always hangout considering how easy going he is and how you are full of suprises. When there is something you didnt know that is in trend, Cater is your go-to guy for it.

A pain in the @$$. You both are on eachother's necks at times whenever the two of you get too far in the teasing like Ace teasing you for being too "Girly" and You teasing Ace for being a hot headed jerk. At times, you both are good friends but mostly pains in eachother's necks to the point of becoming "sparring partners". Never underestimate a Duchess.

Deuce is the one who you are comfortable with the most. He did question quite alot about what and who you are but he understands he's boundaries, especielly on ladys. What a gentleman. During he's fight with the seniors when you two were supposed to buy some eggs, you had released soothing aura that erases any sense of hostility, enabling to stop the fight instantly, much to Deuce's greatfulness.

🦁SAVANNACLAW🦁

Leona dosent exactly "dislike" Diasomnia but he dosent like 'em either, especielly you. At first he thought that you were some lucky fea-like girl that got into the dorm and a hindred to he's plans during Chapter 2. You have been using floral healing alot to help recover the injured victims that he and he's dorm caused to finally win against the Top Dorm but in the aftermath of the events in the Chapter, Leona come to terms that he should respect you more than he had bargain for. Especially how you are a good pillow to him.

After Chapter 2, you and Ruggie became good friends. Heck, you sometimes even pity him for him being tired and exhausted from all the days work so you sometimes help him in doing some of the chores and give him some Pokepuffs that you made for him to enjoy and even bring some extras for he's folks back at home.

Jack secrative beheavior quickly took your attention. The beastman didnt acknowledged you much except for being the first girl in NRC and a mysterious beastman. Two of you quickly hit it off on both gardening and fighting. Being a Duchess in the Battle chateau is a blessing in disguise.

🐚OCTAVINELLE🐚

The 'magic' that you had displayed quickly piqued the Dorm Leader's ineterest. Not to mention, considering it strong to be put into Diasomnia so Azul quickly want to work. You on the other hand is very wary of Azul from day one, especially how he had instructed the twins to hindered their part of the deal so that Azul will win, in which he didnt. Being a therapist was never want across your mind but being one dosent seem so bad as you had became that one person Azul can consult with after what happened in chapter 3.

You quickly avoided the twins. Both of them quickly give you a bad feeling in the stomach and Floyd didnt even 'squeeze' you yet. Whenever they are around, you cant help but feel something is fishy about them (pun intended) Though they are nice and quite fun to be with, you rather stay abit alert whenever they are around than not.

🏜SCARABIA🏜

Your so cute! Kalim couldnt resist himself when he had saw you and save he's butt (literally). He's cute personality reminded you of the children in the school that you would sometimes participate whenever you arent busy training for the chateau.

Lets just say, you kinda have the same feeling with Jamil like what you had with the Leech Twins. Just...different, per say. You had became he's shoulder to lean on after the events at Chapter 4 as you would help him from time to time to help him relax abit more.

👑POMEFIORE👑

Vil would definetly fit in the fashion world back in her world. With the way he behaves, acts, says, and he's background with poison (all of the members in Pomeifiore to be specific), it was kinda unnerving when you saw him since you thought that he was like those Divas who only looks good but not fight good. You were definetly wrong and had change your point of view on him yet still kept you distance. For the 3rd year, he was honestly amazed at your skills and beauty, but he kinda see's you as some kind of rival due to your popularity and preferability from others.

Reine Fée ! quelle beauté! (A shiver went up your spine) You dont even have to use your feelers to know if Rook was there, you already know he IS there. He has been very enamoured with you since the day since he laid he's eyes on you. Though he's skills and eye for detail is very impressive, you better know than to just keep a subtle distance with him. Yet you both share a nice talk about some of your cultures and sometimez talk in french/kalosian.

Epel reminded you alot of your younger self when you started your journey as an eevee and starting as Sylveon. Some people in the Battle Chateau sometimes underestimate you considering your appearance but you prove yourself to be a great trainer to be able to reach the noble title of Duchess. The 1st year admired you greatly and became a Mentor and Mentee duo but you kinda wish that he's views on 'masculine' would be abit more open.

⚙IGNIHYDE⚙

You didnt acknowledged Idia at first until you kinda meet him during the meeting about Magshift in Chapter 2. He never exactly meet any girls, nonetheless talking to them, so when you gave a small greeting towards him, it resulted in him short circuiting both mentally and he's tablet.

Ortho was a sweetie. You felt kinda right at home with him. He reminded you of the little children at the school you part time in. Though you wished that he's matchmaking could tone down abit....

🐲DIASOMNIA🐲

Malleus was shock to say the least. Though physically subtle, you can tell he was suprise when he saw you entering Diasomnia. Even when he already knew that it kinda makes sense with being a 'fae', he was mostly suprise that you dont know him. But he aint complaining, it was a blessing in disguise to be honest as Malleus finally have a friend that aint afraid of him nor terrified to be with him.

He definetly became intrigued with ya before you had been sorted. He may have seen things that no longer exist now, comsidering how long he had lived but you, my dear, quickly piqued he's interest. Lilia reminded you of a Dragapault during your visit in Galar. You both became good friends and have great interests in eachother's worlds.

Sparring partners. You two have eachother's back anytime and any day as you would help Silver try to stay awake most of the time and him helping you fitting in Diasomnia.

Sebek sees you as a Senpai. Even though the two of you are the same age, your skill in battling quickly won over him as he would practically ask you for lessons to help in he's skills.

{BONUS!}

NRC will not allow this!

You already have enough admirers and adding more that came from their rival school? Unacceptable!

Though you are aware of their rivalry, that wont stop you from trying to interact and befriend some of the students from Royal Sword Acedamy.

You are already acquainted with Che'nya, a childhood friend of Trey and Riddle, during Chapter 1 and you two became friends like two peas in a pod. Though he's tricks arent exactly pleasing, you cant help but let your inner child let out once more as you would tease him back with your feelers like how he would do with he's tail at you.

Neige definetly fits the description of what Leona told you about RSA, Minus the Poshy prince thing. The young actor quickly move up to you with gleaming eyes at you, remembering you from a post that has you and Vil simply smilling up at the camera, which had gotten quite a lot of views and likes of seeing such a fascinating beastman that had never seen before. Nonetheless, Neige and you became good friends and exchange numbers to stay connected (much to Vil's dismay).

The seven dwarfs greatly appreciate and admire you of your strength and beauty after they had saw you on the said post and saving them from a bunch of NRC bullies.

Even Ambrose the 63rd have heard about you.

Though thats only the beginning.

When RSA and NRC decided to have their traditional trip to one of their schools (where NRC is chosen during that year), many of the students of the south side of the island were shock when they saw you being in Diasomnia, and actually a student from the Diasomnia dorm, as your colors and personality contrast and fall out of place in the dorm and even the rival school of theirs.

Many princes who had fallen in love at first sight with you had confessed to you and tried to make you go to RSA instead so you can be safe from the students from their rival school.

Of course, the said students werent happy.

They all love you and cherish you as you had help them during their times of need and even saved them alot than more times than they counts.

And guess what? You feel the safe way too.

As much as you love the friends you had made that came from RSA, NRC will always be your go to place. Yes, it may be loud, annoying and troublesome but you like it. There is an adventure in every corner and you love it, and you love your friends more than anything in the world as NRC is where it all happen.

So you politely decline and waltz away, with your friends silently grinning proudly at the disheartened RSA students.

Atleast they have a win in something against them for once.

[Lirio twitches slightly at the sudden noise, but seems to be doing his best to stay calm and still in order to not startle CD. His voice is soft, and he seems to be purposely putting on a very slow and soothing tone to not set the leafeon off.]

"Okay. For future reference, my threshold of quiet is apparently much different from yours, you can make a little bit more sound on approach, I almost just screamed."

[He shifts slightly, letting Joltik get a view of CD. They look the same as they did in the picture, shoved fully inside a bush like they're trying to hide. Oddly, the grassy parts of the leafeon seem to be drooped and wilting. CD shakes like a leaf. Just nearby, a sylveon has carefully reached out one of her ribbon feelers, draping it over CD.]

"They haven't moved at all since we got here. Lacey, says they're terrified, and they've tried to lash out at anything else that has gotten close. So like- be warned. Think they're pretty deep in panic headspace right now."

♥ this man will squeeze you like a SQUEAKY TOY!!!!!!! his hugs and cuddles are nice and tight, but just comfortable enough for a bit of wiggle room... but he doesn't want you to leave his embrace, of course!

♥ mind the claws! he doesn't intend to scratch you, but if he does please trust in him. ( he really doesn't mean to. )

♥ loves nuzzling his nose against your neck or shoulder, and also likes resting his chin ontop of your head as he cuddles you

♥ his red eyes if you look at them right under all that shadow kind of look like a glowing ^-^ face when he's happy. it's kind of silly. he's so content just snuggling.

♥ sometimes he'll breath weirdly heavy or grumble/growl sometimes when cuddling you. it's like, affectionate grumbles and growls though. s!3v3n specifically is just kind of. like that, y'know.

♥ he loves running his hands through your hair and clothes, and will often fiddle with loose bits of hair or cloth. like drawstrings and stuff. it's something to busy his hands with while he relaxes with you.

♥ ... speaking of hair, you also swear you can feel his wrapping around you when you two cuddle.

♥ s!3v3n especially is extraordinarily protective of miki, so he literally kind of growls at your sylveon sometimes like a territorial animal when they get close to miki, mostly out of habit - he's used to any pokemon trying to attack her, after all! i mean, it is kind of the point of pokemon battling and he did used to be the champion... he's only used to pokemon and people alike attacking miki out of self defense or breaking down in tears at the sight of her, so when your sylveon doesn't he's... confused, and surprised.

♥ but when he calms down and realizes your sylveon's feelers are just kind of massaging her, he grumbles and gives up... he eventually grows used to them though, and finds it very good that miki's finally got some other pokemon friends! especially since, well... the ones she had when she used to be alive are all gone, thanks to steven releasing them.

♥ he'll also pet or feed your sylveon sometimes... he has a few pokepuffs either made by you or that he takes totally legally ""buys"". sylveon kind of unintentionally becomes a pokemon that helps him with his mental health. it's ribbons can literally calm people and pokemon alike, so it helps s!3v3n especially calm down and get more into his right mind when he's upset. plus, sylveon's purr! so it's doubly therapeutic...

♥ ... s!3v3n himself also kind of purrs. you can really feel the vibrations in them - they're like, grumbly and you can hear them coming from his chest. it's nice to sleep to.

♥ his leg will sometimes twitch in his sleep.

♥ both steven and s!3v3n toss and turn a lot - unless they have someone to hold. they'll hold their partner all nice and snug, close to their chest, and they'll just sleep in that exact position for hours and hours on end. all he needs is a bit of comfort, and he'll start sleeping like a rock. of course, it still takes a lot of adjusting and a bit for him to truly fall asleep, but it helps if he's cuddling.

♥ all in all. he is quite the cuddler. he'll definitely give you bear hugs but in the form of cuddles... have fun with him!

The Blanket Test

Today our scientific endeavors march ever onward. For this test, we consider the humble blanket, a precious companion to practically every human on the planet. Our blankets provide warmth and comfort as we drift off to sleep, but to many Pokémon, it's a foreign, curious, mysterious square that eats most of our bodies every night and wiggles around weirdly.

Throw it over your Pokémon's head and see what they do! :3

Do take necessary precautions and use a blanket you're okay with losing or throwing away! If some of your Pokemon have a history of being destructive or are hazardous by nature, I don't want people losing their favorite comforters! When I did the Mirror Test some few months back I know some of y'all wound up with broken mirrors. As always, for the sake of scientific detachment, I shall refer to myself as "tester" and my team members as "subjects."

Subject 1: Vivi the Sylveon Blanket Used: Personal comforter. Results: Subject already mostly familiar with blankets, but still tested for posterity. Subject was already napping in tester's bed as test commenced. Tester prodded subject awake and promptly threw comforter over subject's body. Subject remained still for a brief moment, then began to wiggle under the sheet. Ribbon-feelers emerged from underneath covers and subject successfully removed blanket from most of body. Subject squeaked happily upon seeing Tester. Pets ensued.

Subject 2: Aka the Zoroark Blanket Used: Personal comforter. Results: Subject was idling in pokeball at time of test. Tester released from ball and promptly threw comforter over subject. Subject briefly scrambled, grabbed comforter, and hucked it back at tester. Subject and tester amused. -----

Subject 3: Kati the Gengar Blanket Used: Personal comforter. Results: Subject was called from tester's shadow and promptly blanketed. Blanket held form briefly before subject seemingly dematerialized and blanket fell flat upon the floor. Tester removed blanket to utter absence of subject. Tester then heard giggle and felt chill run up spine and concluded subject returned to tester's shadow and fed off of body heat.

Subject 4: Jeanne the Corviknight Blanket Used: Spare wool blanket. Results: Subject was on watch/resting on front porch. Used spare blanket and threw over subject's head. Subject grabbed blanket in beak and violently shook and prodded at it before the blanket even had a chance to cover her. Subject continued to "investigate" blanket with beak and talons before setting blanket underneath herself and roosting on it. Tester unable to retrieve blanket from subject since. Results still better than expected.

Subject 5: Strider the Dusk Lycanroc Blanket Used: Spare comforter. Results: Subject resting on personal cushion as test commenced. Tester threw comforter over subject. No initial response recorded, subject laid still under blanket for a notable amount of time before eventually rising and walking blindly forward until blanket slid off. Subject barked at tester and sniffed blanket, before returning to cushion. Tester noted rock bits and minor fraying where subject's rock mohawk rubbed against blanket. Washed promptly after results with Subject 6.

Subject 6: Davy the Kirlia Blanket Used: Spare comforter. Results: Subject idling in pokeball as test commenced. Tester released from ball and promptly threw blanket over subject. Subject shook in surprise as blanket covered him, then began to protest and wiggle out of blanket. Subject likely upset hair was being messed up by blanket and bit into it, violently jerking head until blanket was wholly off. Subject then smiled proudly at tester in similar manner he does when victorious against opposing Pokémon. Blanket surprisingly unharmed and not torn by subject's flailing and teeth.

Final Subject: Ren the Human. Blanket Used: Personal comforter and sheets. Results: Nap time. Subjects 1, 2, and 5 joined in. Tester enriched and refreshed by experience.

Rye and Dravena @ Lief:

Rye felt Dravena tense up beside her. Oh. Rye should have figured this would happen. She scanned the room, searching for the culprit. Wait! There, those feelers…

Rye excused herself from Dravena, and jogged up to the odd stranger, setting down the platter she was carrying so that she could have a word with him.

“Hey, I noticed you look a bit like a Sylveon. You’ve got similar looking ribbons. You’re a fairy-type right?”

Rye didn’t wait for an answer, instead diving straight into what she had already planned to say. “My friend, she’s a Deino. A dark and dragon-type. She can’t really be around fairies. They mess her aura up real bad. So I’d really appreciate it if you could avoid approaching her so we don’t have to leave. We’ll stay out of your fur too.”

Hoping to further convince the stranger to stay away from her friend, Rye shoved a muffin from the platter into the assumed fairy-type’s hands. “Uh, here! For the inconvenience I guess.”

“Wait!”

Dravena stopped a good few feet away from Rye and the stranger. She had to nearly yell so that she could be heard from where she was at. Even with the distance she kept between her and the stranger, she still seemed pretty uncomfortable. Her voice was unsteady. “I- Have we met before? Your aura feels so familiar…”

Rye whipped her head back to stare at Dravena, dumbfounded. Why the hell did she walk over here? “Drav, that familiar feeling is probably your aura getting torn to shreds by a fairy.”

So much for staying out of this stranger’s fur…

Lief didn't know what to make of this at first; he stayed silent for some moments, holding that muffin in his paws.

Lief: "Right. I have several questions about this, but let us start from the beginning. Get the feeling I'll need to since you both look like you're just kids."

Already, he could feel himself grow exasperated at the mention of them being children. But for the sake of minding his manners for a little longer, he held his tongue.

Mostly.

Lief: "First off, I'm only half Sylveon. I'm also half Ribombee, though mama was part Vespiquen, so make of that what you will. And yes, that does mean I'm a Fairy-type, but I'm Fairy/ Bug. Get it right next time."

He casually took a bite into the muffin that was handed to him, before continuing to rattle off. He'd pause only to swallow.

He smiled a little at the taste.

Lief: "Mmm, not bad...~ Anyway, second of all. I take it by ribbons, you mean my scarf. It's a scarf, not a part of my body."

Before he could begin to respond to the last part about aura to Dravena, he slowed upon focusing on her. Once again, he ended up staring.

Lief: "... huh. This will sound super weird, but I think you were in my dream. It's a pretty gruesome dream so I won't talk about it, but uh. Did you say you recognize me?"
