the usual izzy gets surprised by not having had menopause yet and a baby trope but adding in a twist: it happens pre-canon and by the time he gets unceremoniously dumped off the ship, he’s known for at least a month

just. increasingly tense izzy, who not only has to deal with not being able to keep anything in his body and worse nausea than he had even in his first week on a ship, but also can’t sleep marinating in the familiar coldness between him and ed that suddenly grates all over again. who’s forced to contend with the idea that something might finally force them out of this stalemate, and he doesn’t know if he wants that really or what outcome scares him the most, and it makes him pissier than a rabid cat soaking wet most days

and then it happens anyways, in an entirely different way that didn’t even require izzy to voice all of his fears and lay bare their problems, because stede fucking bonnet did that with his mere presence. no need to admit to his fear of being abandoned now, is there, is all he can think bitterly over a mug of fucking water of all things in jackie’z.

didn't realize we were on a 'road so far' episode already. oh did we really need a funeral pyre? buh. okay what irritates me about that is it can lean on the emotions i associate going back to john's pyre. as much as i warmed up to kevin, his death did not really make me feel anything. and now they can borrow against my fucked up dead parents feelings that got shaken up via john. don't like it.

also borrowing against my thoughts on dean's feelings via john's death, having this long zoom out from dean at the fire, licensed music playing. oh, it gets worse! the cleaning up kevin's footprint in the bunker. no more extra little brother at home.

I've shared this before, it did make it a little bit more difficult when Jared was playing soulless Sam or Dean was playing demon Dean or Michael. It made it a little bit, well, it was different because that person that you rely on who brings their character to life in a way that supports what you're doing and that is relatable and that is almost, is somebody that you rely on to fulfill—he completes me. Great, that's the headline tomorrow... "Jensen Ackles finally admits... ...that he really does love Tom Cruise movies." So yeah, to get back the question, it it did make it a little bit more difficult to do what we were so used to doing when you take that element away and but again that's I think that that was one of the great things about Supernatural is that we took chances like that, we swung for the fences on a lot of different things.

But be warned that this has the potential to be highly spoilery - if that wasn’t already obvious

Lets go with one of my favs and look at Wrecker (because he’s awesome)

We know that he was created on Kamino, that he’s a part of the Batch and that he’s super strong. And almost nothing else because they kept him firmly in the background all through S1.

But he’s the one who shows physical signs of what he’s previously been through. The one who has a big heart and cares for his brothers. The big strong one, the human wrecking ball.

And were have we seen that before?

In Season 3, ep 13 ‘Monster’

After having been altered from his original form by a weird and excessively pale woman while her younger daughter (who hand selected him for this) watched.

Before being sent to Serenno to meet his new ‘Master’ and to be trained to improve his usefulness.

But which was actually more of an exercise in use and abuse, both physical and verbal, by the man who had power over him and saw him as nothing more than a tool to be used to get what he wanted.

The man who then then agreed to kill his young female ‘apprentice’ when his boss told him to.

And didn’t hesitate to do his best to take out all those accompanying her at the time.

Season finale anybody?

Following that betrayal they went their separate ways and Savage went off to find his lost brother. But that’s a story for a different season.

So, would that spell the end for Wrecker?

Not automatically, no. Because there’s more than one recycled show in play here, and just because previous plotlines are coming back around doesn’t mean all the endings will be the same.

But that doesn’t mean they’ll all be happy or that everyone will survive.

Do your homework and rewatch TCW, spot what’s being copied and you can see where all this is likely to be going. The details have been altered to fit a story that doesn’t rely on magic to make it work and to obscure what they’ve done, and the order of events has been rearranged, but they both need to foreshadow events and to show off how clever they are, so they can’t avoid it being visible.

(*Not just from the TCW, there’s plenty from elsewhere, but that’s where the ripoff is most obvious)
