Me earlier: but how will I get all of the girls if I’m just a skinny beanpole? Strong, muscled girls are hot & all of the sapphics seem to be subs except the cis lesbians. Nobody likes a beanpole. 🥲

Romcoms with butches?! Heart eyes
Oh yes!
I am an nb femme myself (even tho I don't really use that label), but I'm very saddened and frustrated about the lack of butch rep in sapphic fiction. Fem4fem stuff just doesn't really... speak to me, especially since a lot of those characters are written without any meaningful interaction with their identities.
(That's actually a big problem I have with a lot of "no homophobia" SFF, where the authors seem to think that removing homophobia also means removing any queerness from the text. So much of our rep is "the queer guy for the straight eye" 🥲🥲 That's definitely something that drew me to TLT - there's no homophobia and transphobia but there's still so much Gender and Queerness baked into the world. It really made me feel seen.)
ETA: (since I always forget about this when I am not in writing circles. MC stands for main character, LI - love interest. All my projects are single pov so the LI doesn't usually have their own pov chapters.)
Anyways my current projects are as follows:
Fully finished book I'm currently querying literary agents with: THE LOVE CAMPAIGN basically "sapphic Red, White and Royal Blue"
It's about the President's Daughter who is a nerdy femme lesbian who goes to NYC to do her Master's and makes some trans friends including a butch/androgynous/transmasc bi genderqueer activist and they have a bit of a hate-to-love.
Book I'm currently writing (about 30% in):
JUST ROLL WITH IT: fake dating roller derby lesbians.
This one actually started as Griddlehark fanfic 😅😆 but it has a butch MC in college who saves the life of her nemesis (a very mean goth femme) in a fire and then the story blows up and everyone assumes they are girlfriends, so they have to pretend to date to help out her roller derby team. So we have hate to love AND fake dating AND sports romance.
Most recent wips (only working titles for these:)
Political romcom the sequel: it's a about this very bratty bisexual fem girl who has to help her father's presidential campaign after they have their separate scandals and she has to fake an engagement to a woman. The LI is a butch latinae lesbian in a PhD and the MC's ex. She agrees to be fake engaged for her own reasons, shenanigans happen.
And finally I also have a sapphic Snow White retelling about this butch girl who thinks she can wake up Snow White with the power of true love's kiss (she's a bit of a himbo ok 😂) but then she meets the Evil Queen and the two form an alliance and maybe fall in love ? 👀 There's a twist and necromancy and swords lesbians I'm going for Gideon kind of voice.
If anyone wants to read any of that, HMU!

31 for dianthe perhaps?
31. Breeze // post-game, 447 words.
"Tell me what you're thinking about," Octavia says, stretching her long limbs out on the grass, fingers playing with the individual blades. Her hoop earrings shine in the warm afternoon sun, the breeze ruffling her thick brown curls. This part of the palace gardens is quiet, shaded by a young scyamore tree that dapples the sunlight through its leaves; the perfect place for a respite for the Queen and her fiancée away from the noise of the capital.
“For once, nothing earthshatteringly important,” Dianthe admits with a smile. She rolls onto her side, propping her head up with her hand, elbow digging into the grass. “It is a nice change after the past few years.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Octavia reaches to take Dianthe’s hand in hers and sighs happily. “Peace... finally. Your people deserve it. We all do.”
Dianthe leans in to kiss her softly on the lips, her golden halo beginning to shine above her head, as it often does when she is content. Her hand cups Octavia’s cheek, a thumb brushing across a slanted cheekbone tenderly. Octavia giggles against her lips, pushing Dianthe onto her back onto the soft green grass. She lies on top of her, deepening the kiss, and Dianthe can taste the rice-and-nut pudding drizzled with honey that she had for lunch on her lips.
When she pulls away, there’s a brightness to her eyes that she has been seeing more and more over the past months since she reconciled with the Marchioness.
“So tell me, Dia, what are you thinking about?” she asks again, brushing back some of Dianthe’s tight curls away from her eyes.
“Our wedding. How much I’m looking forward to having you as my Shelyn-sent wife.” Wife. The word fills her with giddiness, even though they’ve still got weeks until the wedding. Octavia’s smile widens. “Have you decided what you want to be yet? A Queen? Princess-consort?”
Octavia giggles; she buries her head into Dianthe’s neck and kisses the birthmark there. “Can you imagine me as a Queen? Your Highness“ - she mimics Councillor Mervey uncannily well - “Queen Octavia della Fiorni Praecia.”
Dianthe barely holds back a laugh of her own and nudges her playfully with her elbow. “Tavi... I beg you not to mock my councillor - but it has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Queen Octavia...”
“It does.” Octavia drapes her arm across Dianthe’s stomach, fingers tracing the pleats of her gown. “I never thought I would end up here, you know. Safe, with a woman I simply adore, soon to be ruling a kingdom with her. It still feels like a dream sometimes, but the best one I could hope for.”
