I've seen a lot of hate for sayonika since it's toxic but honestly that only applies to self aware monika. Non self aware monika x sayori is cute and not toxic. Now, if you prefer them to be friends that's fine but it's also fine for others to want them to be romantic partners. Respect others opinions!

Random fanfic idea I had:

Sayori and Monika are in a relationship, but the latter is attending a college two hours away from home. The two can't live with each other because Monika is residing on campus.

Sayori is a part time college student, living at home. Out of the friend group, Natsuki is the only person around. Similar to Monika, Yuri is away at school.

Sayori's depression worsens and she reflects on her relationship with Monika. She feels she isn't fit to be her girlfriend, especially because she's struggling with her mental health. It doesn't help their relationship is long distance either.

Will I sit down and write this fic? Perhaps because Thanksgiving break is soon but we'll see
